5. Analisis Leksikografi Perkataan Mahrūdatayn (مهرود ت ين) dalam Hadith.

- Abstract
The word mahrūdatayn is an archaic name for a suit mentioned in a hadith in Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim. The discourse on the meant word contributed by scholars in the fields of hadith, lexicography, botany and pharmacology apparently portrays a contradictory information rooted in its plant-based dyestuff. The source of the dye-stuff as provided by the discourse revolves around al-hurd, al-wars and al-za'farān. To ascertain a kind of the suit based on its dye-stuff, this study employs a qualitative approach through documentation methods for data collection. Then the collected data are to be interpreted using content and inductive analysis. Lexicographically, this study finds that mahrudatayn encapsulates its dye-stuff named hurd or turmeric (Curcuma longa), which is a rhizome part of a plant native to the region of al-Hind. On the other hand, the used part of al-wars (Flemingia grahamiana) is glands outside its fruits, and the used past of al-za'farān or saffron (Crocus sativus) is its stigmas. However, in terms associating mahrūdatayn with al-wars or alza'farān by certain ancient Arabs, there are two possibilities. They whether named all yellow suits mahrūdatayn or deemed al-wars and al-za'farān are as well in a nomenclature of al-hurd. Albeit mahrūdatayn is archaic word, delving deep into its identification proves that the encapsulated thing behind its name is a well-known plant. This study recommends further research on plants in text of hadith. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

SIKHS ,SIKHISM ,HADITH ,HINDUISM ,HINDUS ,MUSLIMS ,RELIGIONS - Abstract
The study of 'Hinduism' in contemporary academia has generated considerable controversy. Many scholars have argued that the idea of a single ancient religion is difficult to substantiate based on the historical record. A common alternative position is that Hinduism is a colonial construct, without well-defined historical antecedents. This paper contributes to a scholarly middle ground, which provides an empirically based yet still contingent analysis of the evolution of 'Hinduism', by drawing on evidence from the Sikh tradition. In doing so, it also draws on approaches which interpret Islam as a discursive tradition, subject to contestable representations, shaped by conditions of knowledge and power, as well as by collective aspirations. Sikh attempts at self-definition included distinguishing their tradition from the two larger, pre-existing traditions of Muslims and Hindus in an explicit and self-conscious manner. In doing so, Sikh leaders recognised 'Hindu' as a religious category to some degree, well before the colonial period. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

One of the movements that online preachers continue to campaign for is the mediatization of hadith. This is due to the transformation of da'wah media from conventional to digital. Mediatization of hadith, one of which is displayed in infographics such as Republika.co.id, is an online media that has also colored the new face of hadith reception on Indonesian social media. This paper aims to reveal da'wah's ideological bias or character in the mediatization of hadith. This article falls into the category of qualitative research. Data is collected or sourced from the online media website Republika.co.id, infographic channels, and focus on the religion column. It was revealed that there was a shift in the process of narrating religious texts caused by technological developments, thus presenting a new challenge for the preachers that the habit of the Indonesian people today is to love something instant. This article also finds the infographic content of hadith presented by Republika to be one of the portraits of the mediatization of hadith that was previously written in classical books. Now the infographic content has undergone several changes, including: there is a development of meaning, development of translation, limitation of meaning, and disharmony between the title of the content with the hadith delivered. The infographic content presented by Republika.co.id also has a moderating dimension, namely seeing empirical reality and not justifying understanding to one group. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Cultural words usually pose some challenges to translators, especially when they translate texts into languages which are culturally different. This study investigates the translation of cultural items in The Forty Hadiths by Imam Al-Nawawi. It adopted the qualitative approach for selecting and analyzing the translation of culturally- bound items of the selected Prophet Mohammed's hadiths posted on the Web by Sunnah.com. Moreover, it used Lambert and Van Gorp's (1985) method to examine the translations and Vinay and Darbelnet's translation strategies to identify the procedures selected by the translators to convey the meanings of the cultural contents. The findings indicated that the translators implemented various procedures to convey the cultural meanings of the hadiths. However, whenever confronted with difficult categories, due to the lexical, syntactic and cultural differences between Arabic and English, they were inconsistent in their choices of translation procedures. Furthermore, they did not succeed in rendering the aesthetic features of the Prophet's utterances, an issue that is yet to be addressed by researchers. The present study provides implications which could be useful for translators, especially translators of religious texts. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

16. Travel in Search of Knowledge in Early Hadith Science: al-Rāmahurmuzī's Conception of al-riḥla fī ṭalab al-'ilm in al-Muḥaddith al-fāṣil bayna al-rāwī wa-l-wā'ī.

- Abstract
This study analyzes al-Rāmahurmuzī's discussion of al-riḥla fī ṭalab al-'ilm ("travel in pursuit of knowledge") in his al-Muhaddith al-Muḥaddith al-fāṣil bayna al-rāwī wa-l-wā'ī ("The Hadith Specialist Who Distinguishes between the Transmitter and the Attentive Listener"), the first compendium on the sciences of hadith, with regard to the motives that influenced his perception of such travel. By examining his selection, organization, and juxtaposition of source material, this paper reveals his rather unusual approach to al-riḥla fī ṭalab al-'ilm. Al- Rāmahurmuzī availed himself of reports of the Companions (al-ṣaḥāba) and Successors (al-tābi'ūn) traveling in pursuit of hadith. However, unlike other contributors to hadith handbooks, he does not mention any Prophetic hadith that praise ṭalab al-'ilm ("pursuit of knowledge"), which would constitute an abundant repertoire of source material, as evident in the major hadith collections before him. Rather, the lion's share of his discussion is devoted to the polemical exchange between the advocates and opponents of al-riḥla fī ṭalab al-'ilm, in addition to literary sources. The present study argues that his depiction of travel in pursuit of knowledge is foremost dictated by his attempts to defend the rectitude of the ahl al-ḥadīth ("the specialists of hadith") and to establish the complementarity of al-dirāya("discernment") and al-riwāya ("transmission"). These two objectives also constitute the leitmotifs underlying his compilation of al-Muḥaddith al-fāṣil; that is, he conceptualizes al-riḥla fī ṭalab al-'ilm within the epistemological and methodological framework that al-dirāya in the comprehension and application of hadith is inherently entwined with the assiduous and meticulous attitude of the ahl al-ḥadīth towards al-riwāya. TRANSLATING & interpreting ,HADITH ,GOD in Islam ,SACREDNESS - Abstract
Truly, the translations of the Holy Quran, made by the Orientalism, is a vast area of study that can never be mentioned her in these few pages. Rather this task is increasing day by day, not only in positive sense but even in negative sense too i.e. in the form of deformation of the actual text though it be the Quranic text or the Hadith text. As here it is being investigated about the Quranic text, the translations of the Holy Quran are being evaluated. This task, particularly, that has been completed by a British scholar i.e. Edward Henry Palmer seems to be a worthy task though it has been intended, particularly, the distortion of the Holy Quran in the form of a translation but as we know that neither the Quranic arrangement and construction of the text nor the internal sense thereof can be changed by anybody for being assured by Allah Almighty Himself in the chapter Hijr as follows: {Verily, We, it is We Who have sent down the Dhikr (i.e. the Qur’an), and surely, We will guard it (from corruption).} [15:9] Therefore, now it can be challenged to everyone that they can never affect its reliability and accuracy. Only for being just in recollecting the favors of Allah Almighty upon us, it has been intended to make our own contribution unto the safety and sanctity of the Holy Quran through having the “Syntactic Errors” pointed out and falsified made by a prominent western scholar Edward Henry Palmer whose translation has been a valuable data for the modern intellectuals of the West specially. Palmer’s English translation of the Holy Quran has been written in an innovative style and, hence, the errors found therein, in my view, has been made only for its being innovative. Our main aim in writing this article is to stimulate the Muslims to have enough knowledge and interest within this area because the awareness concerning the Ultimate Word of God Almighty will make them capable to wipe out the deformation caused by the translations of the Orientalists, particularly, the translation of Edward Henry Palmer wherewith a confusing situation has been created through the distortion of the meanings of the Holy Quran and, hence, the intelligentsia has been confused and caused to be distracted because the beauty of the Holy Quran has been veiled in the form of corruption and distortion so much that whenever a westerner is told about the Holy Quran, they take it as an abuse because the reality found therein has been defamed though this article is expected to wipe out most of the misconceptions about the holy Quran. May Allah Almighty accept from us this contribution and make it a channel of direction and assistance unto the mankind as well as the cause of our own salvation! Amen! [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The narrative networks are formed by the chains of narration from one person to another. Although many social networks have been explored, however, the narrative networks remain underexplored due to the lack of the availability of data in the form of network. This paper focuses on constructing the narrative network from the historical Middle Eastern Hadith book of the 9th century. The purpose of this research is to explore the central narrators, interaction patterns, and the structural properties of such networks via some classical approaches and proposed a narrator ranking method. Further, the tool has been developed for the analysis of Hadith narrative network which will assist researchers and historians. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

WOMEN'S rights ,SEX discrimination against women ,ECONOMIC sectors ,ACQUISITION of data - Abstract
Discrimination against women's rights in the economic sector based on Islamic teachings is still common in Indonesia. This article aims to reveal the economic empowerment of women by the Prophet Muhammad. During his life, he took sides with women by giving them their rights, including those in the economy. Also, it aims to portray the implementation of the Prophetic teachings related to women's economic rights in the Indonesian context by using descriptive-analytical research methods. The collected data is then analyzed using gender and Islamic approaches. The results showed that the Prophet had upheld and implemented women's economic rights through his Hadiths. However, there are still many Muslim communities in Indonesia that do not understand it well. The misunderstanding of the teachings of Hadith and the patriarchal culture that is still developing in Indonesia has resulted in the not optimal implementation of the Prophet's teachings regarding women's economic empowerment. Annotated corpus can greatly assist in the natural language processing field. For example, computers can understand more of the document context, and indexing and clustering in information retrieval can be done precisely with less or no ambiguity of words. However, there are only a few annotated corpora in Malay language, which are not publicly shared. In this paper, we delve into analysing and annotating Malay translated hadith documents in terms of tagging and entities. There are three phases, which are manual filtering and cleaning, analysing the corpus and creating the benchmark. As the result, an analysis and benchmark of Malay translated hadith corpus were produced in term of part-of-speech and named entities tags that follows the Zipf's law distribution. The words of the Prophet (peace be upon him) are the most obvious and freshest words, and God has lost knowledge and knowledge unless others come, and his speeches (peace be upon him) are very important in their words and meanings and the judgment, religious teachings and meanings they carry with them. Our research included the ills of altruism in the names and these ills show us how important the words of the Prophet (peace be upon him) are and his care to put each word in its appropriate place to indicate the meaning to be desired. The hadith of the Prophet represents a masterpiece of human communication and a class of sacred and great texts after the Holy Qur'an. It is pragmatically controlled by a combination of linguistic and non-linguistic elements. The Noble Messenger (may God bless him and his family) is the first teacher sent as a mercy to the worlds, and he is the most eloquent of the Arabs and the most eloquent of eloquents, and his hadiths narrated about him are the path that leads to the rulings of this religion. Research and studies have abounded on the language of the Prophet's discourse, but there is an aspect in it that did not receive the required attention related to the mechanisms of influencing the recipient, and it is a topic in the field of deliberation, which has increased interest and research in it recently, because it touched in its topics what other approaches overlooked. In our view, such studies are useful, because many people read and hear the hadiths of the Prophet, but without knowing all of their contents and implications, as well as the extent of their impact on the recipient and the extent of the interaction of those addressed with them. We divided the research into two sections, a preface and a conclusion. In the preface, we explained: pragmatics and the language of the Prophet's discourse. In the first topic, we dealt with (mechanisms of influence on the linguistic recipient), which includes (suspense and excitement), (and enticement), (repetition), (similarity) and (softening.f). General Atmosphere (Report) and (Intonation(. As for the second topic, it was devoted to (non-linguistic mechanisms of influence on the recipient), which included (silence), (using hand movement), (changing the sitting position), (changing facial features), (smiling) and (drawing on the ground), and stamping. The search mentioned the most important findings of the search. I ask God to bless us with good deeds and useful knowledge and to guide us to what He loves and is pleased with. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Mediatization of religion inevitably has changed various aspects of people's lives, including the method of delivering and learning hadith. Today's society no longer relies on hadith experts to study hadith, but they learn hadith from the internet instead, through hadith memes, and sites that concerns with hadith studies. This paper aims to explain the mediatization of hadith in cyberspace in the form of hadith memes and the factors to contribute to the emergence of various hadith memes on popular social media networks, which result in the superficial religious understanding of the community towards hadith. The data collected from online sources related to hadith learning were analyzed descriptively. It was revealed that, on one side, the mediatization of hadith in the cyberspace has enabled rapid dissemination of information along with its attractive illustration and presentation. However, on the other hand, there is an obvious inclination that the captions in the meme have disrupted viewers from the essential meaning of the hadith. This paper also finds that the presentation of hadith through memes is a new way to construct Muslim's way of thinking. It turns out that behind the memes, there lies some intended messages of a particular ideology adhered by the memes creators. This finding, hence, requires further measures to prevent the community from the trap of the attempt to silence religious understanding by way of mediatization. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

MEMORIZATION ,REAL numbers ,SHARING ,COMPUTER passwords ,HADITH ,SECURITY systems - Abstract
Sensitive information requires many security systems to be protected by secret keys. One of these practical security systems is the so-called counting-based secret sharing, in which certain key portions are distributed to allow sharing access by specified number of real participants. Secret shares are hidden adopting a humanized remembrance tool to serve uncontrolled assigned shares, which are generated from the security system via an automatic authentic target key generation process. While in their counting-based secret sharing process, the shares become challenging to be memorized unlike the normal password assignment that enjoys full personal selection. Therefore, our secret shares models are proposed to be hidden inside the personally chosen texts utilizing improved Arabic text steganography. The current steganography models' study is based on Kashida extension character that is redundant within Arabic writing text. We refined new models to hide data via Arabic text steganography used within counting-based secret sharing technique. The research tests our two proposed modifications to original Arabic text steganography and all are serving secret sharing on the same text database. The comparisons examined the different models on the same benchmark of 40 standard text statements (40 Prophet Hadiths). The results are significant and present promising research contributions. Writing scientific writing is intended to determine the psychological dimensions of general students in learning Islamic religious education (al-Qur'an Hadith). This is considering that the subjects of Islamic education in public schools cover five scientific scopes, of which the Al-Qur'an Hadith is one of them. Most of the students felt uncomfortable when it came to matters related to the verses of the Qur'an. When asked to convey a conversation that is in the verses of the Qur'an, the general teacher prefers to read the translation instead of reading the verse. Therefore, it is important to find out about how the psychological dimensions of the general students relate to those who are obliged to interact with the verses of the Koran and how each study of Islamic religious education in public schools". Factoid Question-Answering (QA) Systems were developed to provide an accurate answer to a factoid question expressed in a natural language. The prime knowledge resources for most of factoid QA systems are online databases. However, the unstructured information in these resources rises the complexity of the information retrieval task. In this paper, we aim to develop an Arabic QA system for factoid questions specialized in Islamic sciences as prophetic tradition (Hadith), Hadith narrator and Quran interpretation (Tafsir). In fact, many questions in the Islamic research fields are focusing on Tafsir and Hadith text. In addition, a number of those interrogations focus on the chain of narrators who transmitted the Hadith. Besides, analyzing the narrator profile is considered an important and enquired task in hadith science. Furthermore, the proposed QA system is based on a normalized database specified in Text Encoding Initiative (TEI) standard. To achieve this, we propose a method composed of three phases to retrieve an accurate answer for the user question. The first phase is the question analysis. The second is the information search. The third phase is the answer processing. Besides, we implant the proposed QA system with a graphic interface allowing the interaction with the user. Finally, we experiment our prototype on 100 questions in the theme of Hadith, narrator and Tafsir text. The QA system succeeds to generate accurate responses for 92% of the entered questions. Quran and Al-Hadith are interrelated in the sense that both often complement each other in interpreting Islamic teachings. In order to gain comprehension of the Quran in detail, it is vital for a Muslim to refer to Al-Hadith in clarifying ambiguities from the Quran. Al-Hadith offers explanations and lends certainties to the abstract concepts depicted in the Quran. With that, this research proposes a method using text categorisation to classify selected categories by determining the interrelation between the resources. Several interrelated cases were simulated by using a combination of different Islamic resources datasets comprising Quran and Hadiths. The selected three categories; Hajj, Prayer, and Zakat, were compared using three classification methods (Naïve Bayes (NB), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and K-Nearest Neighbour (KNN)) via term weighting; Term Frequency – Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF). As a result, the SVM, regardless of being used alone or with term weighting, successfully addressed the interrelationship for single- and multi-label classifications. Additionally, SVM attained better accuracy with 10%–20% improvement, when compared to the other methods that had managed to exhibit slight improvement accuracy wise. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Hadith, the collected traditions of Prophet Muhammad, are the second source of Islamic law after the Qur'an. The Sahih of al-Bukhari is the most authoritative collection of hadith in Sunni Islam, and Fath al-Bari by Ibn Hajar is one of the most important commentaries on the Sahih. While al-Bukhari has been available in English translation since 1971, Ibn Hajar is only being translated now. Ællfwine Mischler was asked to write multiple indexes for the translation of this multi-volume classic Islamic text. In this article, she describes the nature of Ibn Hajar's work, some of the challenges in indexing it, and her solutions for writing both cumulative and single-volume indexes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
