Micro gas flow in porous medium is widespread in nature and industrial engineering. In the paper, a pore-scale model of gas flow through porous medium constructed by Sierpinski fractal is developed and numerically analyzed to study the gas flow behaviors in porous medium. The velocity distribution inside porous media are presented and analyzed, and the effects of the porous structure and rarefaction effect on the gas permeability are examined and investigated. The results indicate that the rarefaction effect greatly affects the gas flow in porous media, especially in the case of lower porosity. In addition, the pore configuration and tortuosity of the porous medium also affect the gas permeability. This may attribute to the existence of wide long straight channels in the porous structure.
