Objectives: Our paper reviews current teaching practices used to support students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in the South Asian region, and to what extent these teaching practices reflect key research based effective practices. We have focused our attention on teaching practices at a time when we are witnessing a greater thrust towards achieving inclusive education at both, regional and global levels. Methods: We have used an eclectic approach for the study by employing a scoping review methodology to identify peer reviewed journal articles from South Asian countries. Having identified 10 articles and three dissertations in total from India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, we have used a matrix method to present our data against nine best teaching practices for students with ASD. Results: Results from the review indicate three practices (of the nine best teaching practices) were most frequently used. These are assessments, alternative, and augmentative communication systems, and parent-implemented instruction/program. The other six teaching practices were not widely reported. Conclusions: We identify significant implications for practitioners, educators, and teacher education programs within the Asian region and beyond. The use of an eclectic approach in making choices regarding teaching strategies, incorporating varied research based effective teaching practices, and following a systematic and informed approach of assessments – teaching interventions – ongoing evaluation are key to supporting students with ASD. During a recent survey of North-West Kashmir six Neolithic sites were found. The artefact found in Baramulla District of Kashmir Valley when analysed were as varied and distinctive as had earlier been found at many other Neolithic sites like Burzahom, Gufkral and Kanispora in Kashmir. The analysis of material culture suggests affinities and parallels beyond Kashmir, with relative comparators in northern Pakistan (Swat) and Central Asia. The interpretation of material culture reveal that there may have been some common factors at work in Kashmir, northern Pakistan, South and Central Asia leading to a similar set of tools and other material culture in similar or contrasting settings. In this paper an attempt has been made to explore whether the Neolithic material culture indicate similarities and interactions between Kashmir through Baramulla District with northern Pakistan and Central Asia. The importance of professionalization of adult education has been increasingly felt in different parts of the globe and has often been highlighted by several international organizations especially the UNESCO and ASEM. Based on the administration of Validpack to a small group of adult educators this paper argues that notwithstanding the limitations of the Validpack, it can play an important role in the professionalization of adult educators specially the non-graduates in India. In this paper, we concisely reviewed the contamination of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) such as polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs), dibenzofurans (PCDFs), biphenyls (PCBs), dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane and its metabolites (DDTs), hexachlorocyclohexane isomers (HCHs), chlordane compounds (CHLs), hexachlorobenzene (HCB) in human breast milk collected from Asian countries such as Japan, China, Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, India, Malaysia, and Indonesia during 1999–2003. Dioxins, PCBs, CHLs in Japanese, and DDTs in Vietnamese, Chinese, Cambodian, Malaysian, and HCHs in Chinese, Indian, and HCB in Chinese breast milk were predominant. In India, levels of dioxins and related compounds (DRCs) in the mothers living around the open dumping site were notably higher than those from the reference site and other Asian developing countries, indicating that significant pollution sources of DRCs are present in the dumping site of India and the residents there have been exposed to relatively higher levels of these contaminants possibly via bovine milk. The paper reports a Study aimed at investigating and comparing attitudes of Asian Indian urban and rural fathers toward their retarded children. Data were collected from a metropolitan community and five villages, all located in northern India, A scale identifying the attitudinal adjustment of parents to raising retarded children was constructed through a sequence of procedures. Data showed that fathers of retarded children residing in rural and urban communities had several significant differences in the way they dealt with their children's mental deficiencies.
