In this article, I explore conceptual connections between spirituality and business, and I advocate for the concept of business spirituality. I explain why the spiritual triad of love, communion, and gift is deeply related to the business triad of abundance, interaction, and resources. I also make clear why individual and collective intentions and cultural values are the main channels of interaction between business and spirituality. In the second part of the article, I argue that business evolves through spiritualization, among other ways: a) receiving meaning and purpose to business organizations; b) supporting its dematerialization; c) helping it overcome the dualism of the market; d) promoting cohesion; e) stimulating innovation; f) endorsing nonprofit institutions; g) inspiring Social Corporate Responsibility; h) encouraging spiritual leadership; i) illuminating the workplace; j) fostering respect for ethics; and k) helping it understand diversity. 24. Corporate Engagement in Water Policy and Governance: A Literature Review on Water Stewardship and Water Security.

- Abstract
Water is a central ingredient of all economic activities. Even so, water-using corporations were long absent from the theoretical and practical developments of water management, governance and policy. The past 15 years, however, have seen the emergence, proliferation and gradual maturation of global initiatives, guidelines and tools that focus on the role of business and their value chains under the banners of corporate water stewardship and water security. This article takes stock of the available literature and reviews the development to date. It traces the origins of key concepts and initiatives that are part of this new corporate engagement in water policy and governance, and looks at the landscape and corporate-level drivers of the phenomena. The paper reviews the evolution of the associated theory and practice; it also examines the impact of corporate engagement in water on business strategies and actions, and observes the influence it has had on stakeholders and settings from the national to the global level. While the available evidence base is still fragmented, the review findings confirm the previously documented controversies of operating at the public–private interface of water. Among water-using companies, the water stewardship approach is increasingly positioned as a means of achieving collective water security, merging these two fields; in practice, however, the results indicate still-narrow gains. The article concludes with a call for a comprehensive evaluation of corporate water initiatives and for a transdisciplinary research agenda that steers the engagement towards more equitable and sustainable outcomes. This paper examines the existing field of digital innovation publications in management and business journals. Due to the exponential growth of digital technology adoptions in companies, much attention has been given to the new phenomenon of digital innovation. Prior literature reviews have attempted to explore the phenomenon but they seem to lack objectivity and are limited in scope. By applying three bibliometric techniques – co-citation, co-occurrence, and bibliographic coupling analysis – we provide a holistic overview of the digital innovation publications. We employ 354 primary documents, identify three foundational themes from which digital innovation draws on, and seven emerging topics. We conclude with recommendations for future research in the field of innovation management. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper examines the decline of the fraternity of St. George in Nottingham between 1459 and 1546. It uses the guild's accounts in conjunction with Nottingham's rich surviving documentary materials to investigate the financial management of the fraternity by its officers. It argues that the officers were adept at negotiating shifting economic conditions by switching between various revenue streams. However, this adroit management did not stem the tide of membership decline. It discusses the role of religious reform in the guild's ultimate demise. It investigates why the decline in membership started long before any moves towards state-sponsored religious reform in the 1540s. It examines the impact of key individuals upon the guild's history. It argues that, for a more nuanced view of the decline of fraternal organizations in this period, a recognition of individuals' impact upon institutions needs to be incorporated into our understanding of institutions' influences upon the economy. In 2022, the global commercial surrogacy industry was valued at approximately US$14 billion. This paper explores the issue of surrogacy to reveal how international human rights standards and labor laws treat reproduction as work, building on previous scholarship analyzing similar framing at the grassroots level in Mexico. I argue that the failure to recognize surrogacy as labor is rooted in three lacunae: (1) contemporary policies and practices around surrogacy globally pay little attention to the well-being and rights fulfillment of surrogates themselves, particularly the economic rights of surrogates; (2) the stigma of surrogacy as sexualized care work results in neglect of the labor rights of surrogates in mainstream economic rights discourses; and (3) relevant international rights law has not yet addressed the economic rights of surrogates, nor has it effectively articulated the interdependent relationship between economic rights and reproductive rights. Lastly, I discuss where reproductive rights and economic rights overlap in existing human rights conventions and standards and what possibilities these offer for articulating the interdependence of reproductive and economic rights and for advancing the labor rights of surrogates. The research questions are "What are the trends of the economic fluctuation and recession for business, markets and economies?" and "has there been a possibility of recession recently?". The results showed that economies in times of globalization could face the risk of recession that remains a phase of the economic cycle and appears with a decrease of the economic activity and real GDP. Generally, inflation comes out from foreign demand, private consumption and government policies and it hits goods and services, the level of consumption and investments decreases during the period of recession. The increase of inflation could generate difficulties in the purchase power. As a result, companies and businesses should find a way to be resilient during the periods of recession. Advanced economies know better how to survive during the periods of recession, as the analysis showed that globalization transmits the trends between economies, the real GDP in both advanced and developing economies appears in parallel lines of fluctuations. In conclusion, strengthening global cooperation remains the best way to improve the economic prospects. Furthermore, political adjustments, effective negotiations and investments could be useful to survive in times of recession. Due to globalization and internationalization, advanced economies and developing economies are highly connected. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

37. miR-10b Inhibition: A strategy for treating metastatic breast cancer.
- Abstract
A research paper published in Oncotarget discusses the development of a nanodrug called MN-anti-miR10b, which delivers anti-miR-10b antisense oligomers to cancer cells. The paper highlights the poor prognosis for metastatic breast cancer and the role of miR-10b in driving metastasis. The researchers found that inhibiting miR-10b with MN-anti-miR10b activates developmental processes in cancer cells and decreases their stemness. In mouse models, MN-anti-miR10b was shown to prevent the onset of metastasis and eliminate existing metastases when combined with chemotherapy. The study suggests that MN-anti-miR10b could be a potential therapy for metastatic breast cancer. [Extracted from the article]

Design demands achieving a balance between creative and routine activities. This balance is vital to ensure the survival and prosperity of design entrepreneurs' businesses. This paper examines how design entrepreneurs enact individual ambidexterity to carry out both creative (exploration) and routine (exploitation) activities in their own businesses. Empirically, it draws on interviews with 23 designers who founded micro businesses, where they carry out design, production, marketing, and sales activities. Our findings show that individual ambidexterity was smoothly enacted to handle design and production tasks in an intertwined fashion, thus reaching a compromise between exploration and exploitation, while it was hindered by the contradiction between 'the sales mindset' and 'the creative mindset' designers encountered when faced with marketing activities. On the other hand, 'the business mindset', which primarily belongs to the non-creatives' world, was considered as valuable and essential for a creative professional choosing an entrepreneurial career path. Over the last decades, gamification has become increasingly used, its benefits being also recognized by a large cluster of e-Commerce providers and consumers. By applying game mechanics and techniques to non-game contexts, gamification certainly has the potential to devise more compelling and enjoyable experiences for customers, motivating them to complete desired actions and behaviors. The current research aims to highlight the advantages, challenges, and future trends of gamification integration in e-Commerce, starting by emphasizing the interest on the analyzed topic from the scientific research perspective and subsequently offering a better understanding on the phenomenon evolution. However, in order to achieve the stated research objective, the process implied approaching three well-known and easyto-understand analysis tools, namely the SWOT, VRIO and PESTLE instruments, applied from the company's perspective, relative to the general framework. Finally, the paper examines the future trends of gamification in e-Commerce, mainly considering the tech evolution, but also the different generations characteristics. Emerging technologies such as AI, AR/VR, wearables, IoT, blockchain, and others were mentioned as instruments that can be used to create even more immersive and personalized gamification experiences for customers. Overall, the present study demonstrates that gamification represents a long-term valuable strategy for e-Commerce platforms looking to increase customer engagement and loyalty. However, successful gamification requires careful planning, user testing, and ongoing optimization to ensure that it aligns with business goals and customer needs. The future of gamification in e-Commerce will be driven by emerging technologies that can create even more customer-shaped experiences, characterizing gamification as an essential stratagem for e-Commerce businesses aiming to stay ahead of the competition.
