Abstract

It has been a subject of debate whether the unorganised manufacturing sector in India has been marginalised with onset of the liberalisation and globalisation process. This paper attempts to find an answer to the issue keeping in mind that this sector is a very important part of the industrial fabric as it is a large provider of employment and contributes to the national income.
