Thousands of dental students and prospective applicants participate in dental MATCH each year. This paper aimed to briefly overview the MATCH process and analyze trends in applicants, program and summary statistics from 2012 to 2023 for specialty programs. The aggregated MATCH data from 2012 to 2023 for all residencies were obtained from the Dental MATCH website and by contacting the Dental MATCH organization. The variables used in this study included applicants matched, number of positions offered, number of programs filled and unfilled, same-year graduates and previous-year graduates matched, US and non-US graduates that matched into a program for each year of analysis. The data was analyzed statistically using the Chi-squared test for proportions to estimate if the proportions deviated from expectations across the years using R 4.2.2. The results showed that Orthodontic programs had a distinct dip in ratio of applicants to total positions offered between 2017 and 2020 followed by a rise after 2020. The Orthodontic residency programs had a lower number of unfilled positions relative to total positions offered for 2015–2016 and a higher number of unfilled positions in 2018 and 2023 (p < 0.05). Dental Anesthesiology had a higher number of unfilled positions in 2015 and Pediatric Dentistry programs had a lower number of unfilled positions in 2015 and higher in 2023 while Periodontics had a higher number of unfilled positions in 2018. The Periodontics residency programs had higher non-US graduates matched in 2018 and lower in 2021 (p < 0.05). Orthodontic programs had higher number of same year graduates matched to total graduates among all other residencies. An overview of the dental MATCH process was detailed in the paper. Background: Traumatic injury survivors often experience negative health consequences, impacting recovery. No studies have assessed the feasibility of evaluating the resiliency of hospitalized trauma patients using the 10-item Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC-10). Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the most efficient method to collect survey responses on the CD-RISC-10. Methods: This cross-sectional study used a convenience sample of admitted patients with traumatic injury. Patients were randomized to complete the CD-RISC-10 using pen and paper, tablet, or workstation on wheels. Results: Of the 161 patient surveys, the tablet-based survey took the shortest time to complete (2 minutes, 21 seconds), and the paper survey resulted in the lowest percentage of missed questions (0.5%). Trauma patients reported high levels of resiliency. Conclusion: The CD-RISC-10 can be easily administered to trauma patients. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to examine the incidence of scheduled training provided to develop the leadership skills of pilots, prior to their operation as the captain of an aircraft in scheduled airline operations, and the subsequent maintenance of their leadership skills after becoming a captain. Method/Approach: The approach used in this paper involved a survey of suitably qualified aviation captains and co-pilots. A total of 741 usable responses were received. The differences between the Captains and Co-pilots responses to the questions related to leadership training were examined using the chi square test. Results/Findings: The majority of both captains (51.0%) and co-pilots (57.1%) had not received training in leadership theory -- this did not systematically differ between the two groups (χ² = 5.88279). In response to the question on leadership practical training the majority of both captains (63.3%) and co-pilots (72.6%) had not received practical training -- this did not systematically differ between the two groups (χ² = 6.2756). In response to the question on ongoing or recurrent leadership training the majority of both captains (52.9%) and co-pilots (69.8%) had not received ongoing or recurrent training -- this however, did systematically differ between the two groups (χ² = 18.106). Implications: The paper provides a review of the issues related to the training requirements of leadership skills for captains of aircraft in commercial passenger operations of aviation. Participation in political activities is a critical aspect of social development because it leads to highly sensitive decisions and choices that provide direction for society. The paper examines the factors associated with participation in unconventional political activities (UPAs) in Nigeria. The social contagion theory was adopted to guide the study. Data for the study were generated using a web-based survey of 888 respondents from Lagos and Cross River States. The test of the association between the dependent and independent variables was done using the chi-square test. The results indicate that age, gender, education level, and religious affiliation were statistically significant for unconventional political activities. The findings presented in the paper provide evidence of the individuals who are more likely to participate in unconventional political activities in Nigeria. Authorities in Nigeria should dissuade the suppression of unconventional political activities through the use of extrajudicial molestation and witch hunts. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this paper we focus on the distributed cyber attack detection and physical fault diagnosis problem for a class of interconnected large-scale systems (ILSSs). In the proposed scheme, apart from node measurement, edge measurement is also used to construct distributed Kalman filter to estimate the state of each subsystem. The gain matrices of Kalman filter are determined by minimizing the covariance of estimation error in the attack-free and fault-free case, which reduces the false alarm rate of cyber attack detection and physical fault diagnosis. Based on this filter, a bank of adjacent residual generators is constructed to characterize the influence of cyber attack on the edge measurement, and the Chi-square test is used to detect whether the received edge measurements are attacked. At the same time, a local residual generator is constructed for each subsystem to characterize the influence of physical faults on it, and the residual signal is evaluated by variance and directional residual, so as to make distributed fault detection and isolation of each subsystem. It is worth noting that at each step, each subsystem first performs attack detection on the received edge measurements, and then estimates its own state using the attack-free edge measurements and node measurement, which further improves the accuracy of fault detection and isolation. In addition, a sufficient condition that ensuring the mean square exponential boundedness of the estimation error is given. Purpose: The present study investigated experiences of traumatic perinatal events, the provision of related education, and educational needs of nurses working in the labor and delivery room (LDR). Methods: Nurses working in the LDRs of six institutions and two nurse portal sites were invited to participate in the survey, delivered on paper or online. The data were collected from October 1 to November 25, 2022. Data from 129 nurses were analyzed using frequency, the chi-square test, the Fisher exact test, the t-test, and analysis of variance. Results: Virtually all participants (98.6%) reported having experienced at least one traumatic perinatal event (dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, neonatal congenital anomalies, severe maternal or neonatal injury, stillbirth, and maternal or neonatal death) while working in the LDR. The most shocking traumatic perinatal event experienced was the maternal or neonatal death (40.3%), but 24.8% of participants did not recall ever receiving education on the topic. About 63% of participants experienced traumatic perinatal events within a year of working in the LDR. The average score for education needs regarding traumatic perinatal events was 3.67±0.37 out of 4, and participants preferred simulation education as the most effective educational method. Conclusion: Since most of the participants had experienced various traumatic perinatal events in the early stages of working in the LDR and expressed a high level of need for education on traumatic perinatal events, it is necessary to provide more effective stimulation education programs in the early period of work in the LDR. In Nigeria, adolescents in urban slums are increasingly at risk of adverse sexual and reproductive health (SRH) outcomes. However, little is known about how individual factors predict parent-adolescent communication on SRH issues in a resource-poor urban setting in Ibadan. Thus, this study investigated individual factors associated with parent-adolescent communication on SRH issues in urban slums of Ibadan, southwest, Nigeria. This study is part of a larger project that explores the socio-ecological factors influencing parent-adolescent communication on SRH issues in selected slums in Ibadan, Nigeria. Within this broader framework, this paper relies on the quantitative data obtained in 10 selected slums. Interviewer-administered structured questionnaire [scripted on open data kits (ODK)] was utilized to collect data from a sample of 796 parent-adolescent dyads. Six SRH topics were investigated to describe the issues discussed. Analytical techniques utilized include; frequency counts, chi-square, and multinomial logistic regression. Parent-adolescent communication regarding SRH issues is not uncommon in urban slums of Ibadan but characterized by indirect communication, threat and warning. Parents and adolescents' age, gender, marital/relationship status, educational attainments and religion played influential role in parent-adolescent communication regarding SRH issues. These factors were identified to be significantly associated with the pattern of parent-adolescent discussion of SRH issues. Age-specific SRH education should be available to adolescents and parents need to be educated on appropriate SRH information and the best way to engage their adolescents on SRH issues. The prevalence and severity of Covid 2019 has brought to light new vulnerabilities of Health Care Workers (HCWs) in their working conditions, social protection, and occupational safety and mental health. In view of this, our paper aimed to provide comprehensive analysis of psychological stress, socio-economic impact, government intervention, interpersonal relations, work-life balance, and coping strategies of HCWs during the pandemic time in India. Based on data collected physically from 606 HCWs working in seven hospitals located in Delhi-NCR using structured questionnaires, six latent variables were constructed. T-test and ANOVA technique along with Post-hoc analysis was used to make comparisons and identify groups across which significant differences existed. Further, a two-group discriminant analysis was performed to find the variables that best discriminated between HCWs from private or public hospitals and medically or not-medically trained. Lastly, chi-squared (χ²) test was performed to examine the statistical association between coping strategies and few demographic characteristics. The results revealed that females and medically-trained HCWs were more psychologically stressed than their counterparts. Work-life-balance and interpersonal relations were found to be more disturbed among the medically-trained HCWs. Government regulations favourably affected the non-medically trained and HCWs with children and elderlies. Additionally, the impact of interpersonal relationships and work-life-balance was found to be adverse on permanent HCWs. Discriminant analysis showed that interpersonal relationships, followed by government intervention, work-life balance and socio-economic impact were the most important predictors between medically and non-medically trained HCWs. However, none of these factors discriminated between HCWs from private or public hospitals. Further, the preference patterns of coping strategies suggested that HCWs worked with an optimistic state of mind and adopted positive techniques. To make the healthcare system more resilient, it is strongly suggested that the government should play a key role during the times of pandemic, especially-encompassing females and financially stressed categories of HCWs. Objectives: Nausea is one of the most important symptoms of patients undergoing chemotherapy. This study aims to determine the effects of aromatherapy with sour lemon on nausea in patients undergoing chemotherapy. Methods: A total of 50 patients undergoing chemotherapy were randomly assigned to experimental and placebo (control) groups. The two groups completed the visual analogue scale for nausea before and the first to the fourth week after starting the intervention. The intervention was performed during chemotherapy. Using a dropper, a paper towel was saturated with 3 drops of sour lemon essential oil; however, for the control group, 3 mL of water as a placebo was spread on a paper towel. The intervention in the experimental and control groups was performed once a week for 4 weeks during weekly chemotherapy sessions. Results: At the beginning of the study, no significant difference was observed between the mean score of nausea in the two groups (P>0.05). The first to the fourth week after starting the intervention, significant differences were observed between the mean score of nausea in the two groups (P<0.05). The results of the repeated measures analysis of variance indicated that the mean score of nausea changed over time in the experimental group, indicating a gradual decrease in the mean score of nausea (P<0.05). Discussion: Our findings indicated that aromatherapy with sour lemon can be effective in reducing nausea in patients undergoing chemotherapy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Nowadays, the Internet contain s a wide variety of online documents, making finding useful information about a given subject impossible, as well as retrieving irrelevant pages. Web document and page recognition software is useful in a variety of fields, including news, medicine, and fitness, research, and information technology. To enhance search capability, a large number of web page classification methods have been proposed, especially for news web pages. Furthermore existing classification approaches seek to distinguish news web pages while still reducing the high dimensionality of features derived from these pages. Due to the lack of automated classification methods, this paper focuses on the classification of news web pages based on their scarcity and importance. This work will establish different models for the identification and classification of the web pages. The data sets used in this paper were collected from popular news websites. In the research work we have used BBC dataset that has five predefined categories. Initially the input source can be preprocessed and the errors can be eliminated. Then the features can be extracted depend upon the web page reviews using Term frequency-inverse document frequency vectorization. In the work 2225 documents are represented with the 15286 features, which represents the tf-idf score for different unigrams and bigrams. This type of the representation is not only used for classification task also helpful to analyze the dataset. Feature selection is done by using the chi-squared test which will be in the task of finding the terms that are most correlated with each of the categories. Then the pointed features can be selected using chi-squared test. Finally depend upon the classifier the web page can be classified. This is the first paper evaluating the efficacy of laser Doppler imager in diagnosis of pulpal vitality. The purpose of this study was to evaluate and compare the diagnostic benefits of laser Doppler imaging and electric pulp test (EPT) in dental trauma. Seven patients were selected for pulp vitality evaluation in Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital between 2018 and 2019. EPT and laser Doppler imager evaluation were performed for patients with traumatic injury to teeth. Statistical methods included the Kappa consistency test and the chi-square test. In addition, the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve, and the area under the curve (AUC) were used. There was a significant difference in Doppler flow values between the severe trauma group and the mild trauma group, regardless of patient self-reported symptoms (P = 0.043) or physicians' diagnostic classification (P = 0.018). For an EPT instrument, the Kappa coefficient was 0.67 and 1-year pulpal status findings were highly consistent (P < 0.001). Using a Doppler instrument, the Kappa coefficient was 0.85. According to the ROC curve, the AUC for EPT was 0.94, the AUC for Doppler was 1, and the optimal cut-off value was 31.55, indicating that both were superior diagnostic tools. Both laser Doppler imager and EPT can be used as tools for diagnosing traumatic pulp necrosis. Doppler imaging instruments allow for a more timely and accurate assessment of pulp vitality in dental trauma. In this paper, we provide an approach to learning optimal Bayesian network (BN) structures from incomplete data based on the BIC score function using a mixture model to handle missing values. We have compared the proposed approach with other methods. Our experiments have been conducted on different models, some of them Belief Noisy-Or (BNO) ones. We have performed experiments using datasets with values missing completely at random having different missingness rates and data sizes. We have analyzed the significance of differences between the algorithm performance levels using the Wilcoxon test. The new approach typically learns additional edges in the case of Belief Noisy-or models. We have analyzed this issue using the Chi-square test of independence between the variables in the true models; this approach reveals that additional edges can be explained by strong dependence in generated data. An important property of our new method for learning BNs from incomplete data is that it can learn not only optimal general BNs but also specific Belief Noisy-Or models which is using in many applications such as medical application. Through their actions and behavior forms, coaches set an example for the athletes they work with, and additionally oblige them to lead a healthy lifestyle, which includes a proper diet and regular physical activity manifested in various forms. The aim of the paper is to compare the categories of physical activities between male and female sports experts. The results of the research showed that 63% of trainers practice high physical activity, and 36% moderate physical activity, with women applying high physical activity by 6.8% more than male sports experts. Observed physical activity is expressed in MET units (metabolic equivalent of task). The analysis of the chi-square test did not show a statistically significant difference in the representation of physical activity categories among male and female sports experts. The observed level of physical activity (light, moderate, heavy, total physical activity), analyzed using the t-test for independent samples, did not show a significant difference between male and female coaches. Objective: To investigate the role of community pharmacists in the therapeutic process of oncological patients and to assess these patients' state of acceptance of their disease and their relationship with their therapies, we performed a survey in some oncological clinics in Turin (north-west of Italy). Methods: The survey was carried out in a three months' period by means of a questionnaire. The questionnaire was administered on paper to oncological patients that attended 5 oncological clinics in Turin. The questionnaire was self-administered. Results: 266 patients filled out the questionnaire. More than half of patients reported that their cancer diagnosis interfered with normal life very much or extremely and almost 70% of patients reported that they were accepting of what happened and were trying to fight back. 65% of patients answered that it is important or very important that pharmacists are aware of their health status. About 3 out of 4 patients thought that pharmacists giving information on medicines purchased and on how to use them is important or very important and that it is important to receive information concerning health and the effects of medication taken. Conclusion: Our study underlines the role of territorial health units in the management of oncological patients. It can be said that the community pharmacy is certainly a channel of election, not only in cancer prevention but also in the management of those patients who have already been diagnosed with cancer. More comprehensive and specific pharmacist training is necessary for the management of this type of patient. Furthermore, it is necessary to improve the awareness of this issue in community pharmacists at the local and national levels by creating a network of qualified pharmacies developed in collaboration with oncologists, GPs, dermatologists, psychologists and cosmetics companies. Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the influencing factors of breast cancer recurrence by comparing the risk factors and lifestyle patterns related to breast cancer in Korean women with and without recurrence. Methods: This cross-sectional survey comprised 241 Korean women diagnosed with breast cancer who had received follow-up treatment. Participants were recruited from a university hospital in Seoul and an online social media platform for breast cancer patients. Data were collected either via online or a paper survey, using a structured questionnaire that included general and disease-related characteristics and lifestyle behaviors. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, univariate analysis, and logistic regression. Results: Recurrence of breast cancer was influenced by four factors; childbirth experience, consumption of green/yellow vegetables, drinking behavior, and recovery from fatigue after sleep. Prevalence of recurrent breast cancer was associated with no childbirth experience (OR=2.29, p=.010), fewer green/yellow vegetables (OR=0.71, p=.008), drinking behavior (OR=0.24, p=.001), and a lower level of recovery from fatigue after sleep (OR=0.51, p<.001). Conclusion: Aside from having experienced childbirth, this study identified several modifiable factors that influence breast cancer recurrence. Increasing green/ yellow vegetable intake, alleviating fatigue, and reducing alcohol intake are important. Intervention strategies in clinical research and practice can be applied to address risk factors and reduce the prevalence of recurrent breast cancer. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper aimed to examine the psychometric properties of a modified version of the Self-Efficacy in Clinical Teaching Scale with a sample of undergraduate nursing students. Enhancing nursing students' self-efficacy in clinical teaching is important for developing their clinical teaching capabilities, which ultimately contributes to safe quality healthcare. Little is known about nursing students' self-efficacy in clinical teaching, potentially due to a lack of validated instruments to measure their self-efficacy in clinical teaching. This study used a cross-sectional survey design. In 2022, a convenience sample of Year 2 and Year 3 nursing students in an Australian Bachelor of Nursing Program completed the modified Self-Efficacy in Clinical Teaching Scale. The scale's construct validity was assessed using known-group measures (year level and peer teaching experience) and confirmatory factor analysis. Concurrent validity was established through correlation with a visual analogue scale and reliability was tested with Cronbach's alpha. Three hundred and nineteen surveys were analysed. The mean total self-efficacy in clinical teaching score for Year 2 participants was significantly lower than that of Year 3 participants (mean difference = −11.13, 95 % CI [-16.33, −5.93]). Participants with peer teaching experience had a significantly higher mean total score compared with those without peer teaching experience (mean difference = 15.32, 95 % CI [8.74, 21.91]). The scale's relative chi-square test was acceptable (CMIN/df = 4.69); other fit indices were within or just outside acceptable parameters (RMSEA =.11; SRMR =.039; NFI =.89; RFI =.88; IFI =.91; TLI =.90; CFI =.91). There was a strong correlation between participants' total self-efficacy in clinical teaching scores and their visual analogue scale scores (r =.83, n = 314, p <.001 [two-tailed]). Cronbach's alpha for the total scale was.98. The modified Self-Efficacy in Clinical Teaching Scale was sensitive to student year level and peer teaching experience. When subjected to confirmatory factor analysis, the scale's model was an acceptable fit across several indices. These findings support an argument for the scale's construct validity. Total self-efficacy scores were strongly correlated with visual analogue scales, suggesting concurrent validity. Using Cronbach's alpha, the scale was found to be reliable, however may benefit from a reduction of item numbers. The modified Self-Efficacy in Clinical Teaching Scale may support future investigations of undergraduate nursing students' self-efficacy in clinical teaching and contribute to an understanding of health professional students' self-efficacy in clinical teaching across disciplines. Double diapering may help to maintain a baby's hips in flexion and abduction posture, but the efficacy in facilitating hip maturation has never been verified. We investigated whether double diapering results in greater improvement of the alpha angle in newborn babies. This prospective study enrolled newborns with Graf type IIa immature hips and assigned them to the double-diaper or single-diaper group by the day of birth in a week. Parents were instructed on proper hip positioning, except for diapering. Change in the alpha angle from newborn to 1 month after birth, rate of improvement to bilateral Graf type I hips in 1 month, and number of ultrasound examinations and orthopaedic clinic visits in the first year were compared between the two groups. Seventy newborns with 102 type IIa hips were included from January to December 2017. They were allocated to the double-diaper group (n = 33) and single-diaper group (n = 37). With a comparable sex ratio, gestational age, and newborn alpha angle, the double-diaper group had a greater increase of alpha angles in 1 month than the single-diaper group (+7.9° vs. +5.2°, t-test, p = 0.011). Twenty-eight babies in the double-diaper group (84.8%) and 20 babies in the single-diaper group (54.1%) improved to having bilateral Graf type I hips (chi-square test, p = 0.006). Under the same clinical management pathway, subsequent clinical visits and hip ultrasounds before 1 year were significantly reduced in the double-diaper group. Double diapering enhances hip maturation and reduces clinical costs in newborns with physiological immature hips, but the therapeutic role for hip dysplasia requires further study. The present paper focuses on the impact of Business Correspondents and Business Facilitators in Financial Inclusion. The main Objective of the study is to understand the functioning of Business Correspondents and Business Facilitators through different models and agencies in different type of banks. The study is important because it helps to know the financial awareness of people in rural areas, the number of people using the banking services and to create awareness of financial inclusion among them. The research work is mainly focused towards Vikarabad District as the number of rural and semi-urban areas are more in that region. Field visits have been executed to collect primary data through Direct interview and Questionnaire method. Descriptive analysis and Chi-square test have been conducted to know the significance of BC/BFs in promoting financial inclusion among all other modes or approaches to financial inclusion. The major important findings have been mentioned along with issues faced by BC / BFs, and suggestions are also given to resolve such issues. Finally, a brief conclusion on the observations made during the research is mentioned, explaining the significant impact made by the BC / BFs over the financial habits of the people in rural areas and the need for improving their saving habits through banking facilities and increasing digital banking is explained. The estimation of the Barthel Index scale (BI) is a significant method for measuring the performance of Activities Daily Living (ADL), where the prediction of ADL is crucial for providing rehabilitation care management and recovery for patients after stroke, therefore in this paper, nine various Machine Learning (ML) algorithms were implemented in a medical dataset contains 776 records from 313 patients 208 of them are men: 208 and 150 are women with multiple features collected from them for predicting and classifying the BI status as clinical decision support for determining the ADL of post-stroke patients. Meanwhile, we have applied feature selection using the chi-squared test to reduce the number of features in the dataset. The purpose of this paper was to report the incidence of orbital haematoma formation following the repair of orbital fractures with silicone, polytetrafluorethylene (PTFE), and poly-L-lactic acid/hydroxyapatite (PLLA/HA) implants. This retrospective review examined 234 patients (235 sides) who underwent repair of orbital wall fractures over a six-year period. Of these, 36 patients received a silicone sheet; 49 patients received a silicone sheet with superimposed PTFE implant; and 149 patients (150 sides) received PTFE with or without an underlying PLLA/HA implant. Orbital haematomas were documented in 13 out of 36 patients (36.1%) who underwent fracture repair with a silicone sheet; seven out of 49 patients (14.3%) who had a silicone sheet with a superimposed PTFE implant; and three out of 150 sides (2.0%) with PTFE with or without underlying PLLA/HA. The difference in incidence of orbital haematoma formation was significant among the groups (p < 0.001, Pearson's chi squared test). In the silicone sheet group, haematomas formed within two weeks of surgery in 11 patients (84.6%). In the silicone sheet with superimposed PTFE implant group, five patients (71.4%) developed orbital haematomas no earlier than after two weeks postoperatively. This study showed that the incidence of orbital haematoma formation following orbital fracture repair is different among the implant materials. The present case series, based on dental literature, aimed to identify factors that influence the final treatment decision for patients affected by mandibular canine transmigration using individual data from case reports in the literature. The protocol used for data synthesis was prepared following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systemic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. An online search was conducted and included studies published up until September of 2019 (MEDLINE, Google Scholar, Scielo, and Conricyt). A chi squared test was used to evaluate associations between the treatment choice and gender, age, Mupparapu classification, and the presence of oral pathologies or dental anomalies (p < 0.05). A multinomial logistic regression was used to evaluate the individual case report data to determine the effect of the explanatory variables for treatment selection. Seventy-six papers fulfilled the inclusion criteria. Surgical removal (46.71%) and radiographic monitoring (38.16%) were the most common treatments reported. Age, Muppararu classification, and the presence of oral pathologies were significantly associated with the treatment option (p < 0.05). In conclusion, surgical removal and radiographic monitoring are the most frequently reported treatments for mandibular canine transmigration. Age, Mupparapu type, presence of oral pathologies, and qualitative aspects such as emotional reasons are relevant for the decision regarding treatment approach. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper presents a new decentralized Kalman filter (DKF) framework to detect and isolate faulty nodes in a network of sensors. The Chi-square test is a well-versed fault detection method. However, if error in the predicted state estimate is not within bounds defined by the predicted error covariance matrix, the Chi-square test fails. In order to detect faults (also known as outliers) in measurements, the random sample consensus (RANSAC) algorithm has been widely used in computer vision applications. We propose a novel integration of RANSAC into DKF framework, named as the DKF-RANSAC algorithm, that uses the information and information matrix of the connecting nodes to formulate a hypothesis to detect faulty nodes. An approach for minimizing the iterations in the RANSAC algorithm using the Chi-square test is also presented. The proposed DKF-RANSAC algorithm is validated on a target tracking problem. A simulation study shows that this algorithm identifies the faulty nodes correctly and isolates them, as well as handles incorrect initialization error simultaneously. Gene microarray technology can detect many gene expressions simultaneously, which is essential for disease diagnosis. However, microarray data are usually characterized by small samples and high dimensionality, which requires obtaining the most matching genes to the disease before building a classification model. In this paper, we propose an improved multilayer binary firefly-based method that is divided into two phases. The first stage reduces the dimensionality space by improved Max-Relevance and Min-Redundancy (mRMR). The second stage refines the feature space from coarse-grained level to fine-grained level by improved multilayer binary firefly algorithm (MBFA) at each recursive step. We built a stacking classifier model based on attention mechanism in publicly available gene microarray data and evaluated them compared to advanced hybrid feature selection methods. The experimental results show that compared with the classical chi square test, variance, logistic regression and decision tree methods, the proposed method can achieve higher classification accuracy with fewer features. The aim of the paper is to provide knowledge with regard to what extent a student's engagement, travel time to the business school, and nationality determine their perception of the value of business school education. We have analyzed what determines the evaluation of online studies, the frequency of participation in online courses, and the preferences regarding the mode of study in the future (offline vs. online). For this purpose, we conducted research in late March and early April 2020 among management students attending one business school in Warsaw. The respondents included native residents of Poland, as well as migrants from countries of the former Soviet Union. We analyze survey responses provided by 317 respondents. We used the chi-squared test, the Kruskal-Wallis test, and the Mann-Whitney test to verify relationships between variables. According to the analysis, the student engagement variable determines the current evaluation of online studying, the change in frequency of participation since the introduction of online classes, and the preferred mode of study (online or offline). The time required to commute to the business school determines only the preferred mode of study in the future, while students' nationality determines their assessment of online studying and the frequency of participation in online courses.
