To discuss person-centred care in nursing education and the role of online pedagogy to facilitate meaninful learning. The core principles and values of person-centred care are at the centre of national and international healthcare education. Person-centred care recognises partnerships and relationships between nurses, healthcare practitioners and individual patients, carers and their families and part of the training of healthcare professionals. However, the literature on how person-centred care is taught to facilitate meaningful learning in nursing education particularly in the context of online pedagogy is limited. A critical discussion paper. A critical discussion of person-centred care and online pedagogy that can facilitate teaching practices are presented, drawing on authors' positionality and case exemplars. Teaching person-centred care using online pedagogy appears to have a promising impact on undergraduate and postgraduate nursing students' experiences. Engaging students in critical examination and reflection on the complexities of person-centred care in practice creates meaningful experiential learning for both students and educators. Evidence suggests that the use of online pedagogy is a beneficial and effective way to incorporate the teaching of person-centred care into nursing education, yet more evidence is needed to evaluate its impact on nursing practice. Nutrition education is necessary in the training of healthcare professionals, including medical students. However, recent surveys showed that there is a high variability within Medical Schools in different countries. The aim of this ESPEN position paper is to identify a minimum curriculum knowledge in nutrition that serves to improve the training of the future doctors and how to solve the main barriers of its implementation in university centres. In 2017, the ESPEN Executive Committee launched the Nutrition Education in Medical Schools (NEMS) Project and formed a core working group including members of the ESPEN Nutrition Education Study Group (NESG) and representatives of several European Medical Schools. This group met in Brussels, on 19th July 2018 and decided to prepare a position paper on this topic. Five main learning objectives and twenty-one topics on human nutrition, within its three domains (basic, applied and clinical nutrition) were identified to be fulfilled at the end of training in all Medical Schools. The experts showed the following key factors for its implementation: establish a nutrition curriculum committee, use different models of integration of the contents in the curriculum (vertical and horizontal), have a multidisciplinary and experienced faculty, incorporate a variety of teaching models, and evaluate the programme periodically. Nutrition Education is necessary and should be mandatory in all Medical Schools. Abstract Short answer tests (SAT) are an assessment that examines nursing students' knowledge and can be used to evaluate expectations for student educational success. The purpose of this literature review is to combine the best available evidence as to whether short answer test papers meet nursing facility curricula learning outcomes. A literature review was performed consisting of data bases which included; ERIC, SCOPUS, CINAHL MEDLINE, COCHRANE LIBRARY and JOHANNA BIGGS INSTITUTE (JBI). The following keywords were used: Short answer test, written assessment, quiz, organisations, university, higher degree education, tertiary education, nursing, perceptions, attitude, opinions, thoughts, feeling and belief. The majority of studies demonstrated that short answer tests equip nursing students with the knowledge and critical thinking skills for the clinical setting. Three major themes were identified: the effects of increasing class sizes; authenticity and the validity of short answer tests. Short answer tests are commonly used in undergraduate nursing programs to evaluate students' level of knowledge which consists of their ability to critically analyse and problem solve. To maintain authenticity and validity of an assessment, there is a need for an evidence-based approach to their design to meet the core learning objectives within the curriculum. This discussion paper highlights the importance of Australian nursing and midwifery students' lack of exposure to electronic medical records during their undergraduate programs. There is pressure on universities offering nursing and midwifery programs to provide students with opportunities to learn to use patient electronic medical records. This will provide authentic rehearsal with the digital technology prior to clinical placements and increase graduate work readiness. Informed by contemporary literature, we describe the benefits of implementing electronic medical records (eMR) in health organisations and identify the challenges and barriers to implementing and integrating the education of electronic records into undergraduate nursing and midwifery programs. Undergraduate students who had not experienced eMR as part of on-campus learning felt unprepared and lacked confidence when commencing clinical practice. Some international nursing and midwifery programs have found that student's skills improve in decision-making and documenting patient observations when eMR is integrated into their university education program. Successful integration of an eMR program should consider academic/teaching staff skills and confidence in technology use, initial and ongoing costs and technical support required to deliver the program. In conclusion, Australian universities need to embed eMR learning experiences into the nursing and midwifery undergraduate curricula to increase students work-readiness with a focus on patient safety. The Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN) Institute RN-BSN Task Force presents a white paper on Recommendation for a Systems-based Practice Competency. The task force proposes a seventh QSEN competency, systems-based practice, to improve patient quality and safety. Recommendations to integrate systems-based practice into both education and practice settings, consistent with job descriptions and promotion criteria, involve a comprehensive continuing education program for nurses upon interview, orientation, residency programming, performance evaluation, and license renewal. This study assesses BSW student writing (N=87, 35.2% African American) on a case study writing assignment in a U.S. school of social work. Papers were scored for response to rhetorical situation, organization, grammar, and adherence to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association. We then predicted students' scores based on demographic factors using multivariate linear regression. Descriptive statistics showed that students scored lower in response to rhetorical situation (M=2.20, SD=.78, scale of 1-5) than in organization (M=2.60, SD=.82), style (M=2.57, SD=1.03), or grammar (M=2.66, SD=.77). In the multivariate models, grade point average and race were the strongest predictors of scores. Results suggest that baccalaureate social work program directors may consider increasing writing support and process assignments and examining how defining good writing reinforces sociopolitical bias in social work education. All convention papers sponsored by the Basic Course Division of the National Communication (NCA) from 2004 to 2008 were analyzed for author names and institutional affiliations. Institutional top convention paper productivity rankings were constructed both with and without the Carnegie Classification System. Individual top convention paper productivity rankings were also indentified. This article discusses the future of reading and writing. It includes a brief history of reading and writing, shows the reader how digital text has quietly evolved and threatens to take over traditional notions of what it means to be literate, and suggests that speech will emerge as a dominant way of communicating. The three ideas developed here are: (a) Pens, pencils and paper will soon be artifacts of the past; (b) Electronic reading and writing will be pervasive, collaborative, and social events; and (c) Speech will replace most writing. "kindle"-to excite; stir up or get going; animate; rouse; inflame Amazon's Kindle is a handheld wireless reading device with a six inch screen that looks like a book and has sparked a firestorm of interest in readers and investors (Gunnison, 2008; Klein, 2008; Levy, 2007). It is a bone-white 5 in. x 8 in. plastic device that costs $359. and can access over 185,000 books, magazines, newspapers and blogs. In 2008, Amazon announced the Kindle2 which can store 1,500 books. In 2009, the KindleDX was introduced (Wildstrom, 2009). It holds 3,500 books, supports PDF files, newspapers and textbooks. The unveiling of these e-readers and others, kindled my imagination, causing me to think about the changes reading and writing have undergone historically. I wrote about how electronic journals were augmenting paper journals and texts. I wrote about how technology affects written conventions. But, I did not explore the future of reading. This article presents the results of three comparative analyses on forty-seven student papers in order to examine the effectiveness of a basic writing course in developing students' academic writer identity. The course curriculum, grounded in social identity theory, focuses on the core writing concepts and dispositions that promote writer identity. Since the curricular focus is writing, this course fits within the broad category of a Writing-About-Writing (WAW) course and specifically draws on David Bartholomae 's "Inventing a University" article and Roz Ivanič's research on writer identity. These two scholars present pedagogy that draws on social identity either implicitly (Bartholomae) or explicitly (Ivanič). My comparative analyses demonstrate students ' significant development and short-term transfer of textual writer identity, and the analyses reveal advanced textual writer identity compared with students who tested out of basic writing. This research contributes to writer identity theory and demonstrates the efficacy of writer identity content specifically and a WAW-type course generally for basic writing. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Attending in-class paper demonstrations and performing experiments in solid mechanics courses are very effective ways for students to gain an understanding of the complicated concepts of mechanics. This paper explores a few applications of dogbone tensile tests, stress concentrations and crack kinking or mixed-mode fracture. Furthermore, this handy technique can be extended to other broader areas of mechanics education. Since only simple materials and supplies are used, copy paper, staples, scissors and a paper punching machine, students can repeat these typical mechanics experiments in future in other locations, such as in an office or at home. Science curriculum development is currently focusing on 'scientific literacy', that is, that a science curriculum should prepare all young people for life, enabling them to understand and engage with scientific reports in the news media. So, what do the news media say about science? A UK newspaper survey conducted in spring 2003 showed that most science stories were related to life science, some to technology and earth science, a few to physics and none directly to chemistry. This 'snapshot' survey of one of the news media suggests that, in future, elements of physics and chemistry might best be taught through life, earth and technological contexts. The oral health education system is in need of major reform! This is especially apparent in university-based education for the health professions. So-called preclinical as well as clinical education simply has not kept pace with or been responsive enough to shifting patient demographics and patient/population desires and expectations, changing health system expectations, evolving interdisciplinary expertise and practice requirements, new scientific discoveries and scientific information, focus on quality improvement, and/or integration of emerging technologies. Moreover, university-based "dental education" is the most costly professional degree education within the entire university portfolio, and dental student accumulated debt is increasing each year well beyond national inflation estimates. Today, we have an enormous opportunity to explore major reforms in health professional education. Through the Santa Fe "process" of open and candid engagements and discussions (see www.santafegroup.org), we advance an argument as well as a national strategy that can enable major reforms in the oral health education system. We further suggest that major revisions can result in an outcome-based education system that prepares oral health professionals to meet both the needs of patients/families/communities and the requirements of a changing health system. Background and purpose: Diversity within the physical therapy profession lags in comparison to the United States population. As the profession strives to diversify, faculty must pay attention to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEI-B) in curricular approaches, including classroom materials, instruction, and assessment. With critical application, students from equity-deserving groups (EDGs) can provide unique perspectives to faculty about curricular approaches. Case study purposes were to 1) enable students from EDGs to partner with faculty, as student pedagogical consultants (SPCs), in 2 courses in a Doctor of Physical Therapy program to provide feedback on DEI-B efforts related to curricular approaches and 2) describe the outcomes of SPCs experience. Case description: Eight female students from EDGs partnered with 3 White, female, faculty members in 2 courses: pediatrics and neurorehabilitation. Two SPCs teams observed the classrooms, met with faculty, and administered two-minute papers to classmates to gather feedback on DEI-B curricular approaches. Faculty and student SPCs wrote reflective papers, postproject, documenting their experiences. Outcomes: Themes informed a conceptual framework describing SPCs: 1) motivation for engaging in partnership; 2) creation of a pedagogical partnership space to promote dialogue and problem-solve barriers to DEI-B; 3) deeper understanding of teaching; 4) transfer of learning from the SPC experience to future work locations; and 5) faculty modification of teaching. Discussion and conclusion: Students raised awareness regarding the pain of exclusion and provided suggestions for modifying curricular approaches to consider DEI-B. Self-care is an important part of professional nursing identity that can contribute to the longevity of a career. • What the paper adds to the existing knowledge? This paper discusses the integration of various self-care interventions into the first semester of a nursing program and identifies some of the continued barriers students face in performing self-care activities. • How the information in your manuscript can be applied to practice? The self-care interventions explained in this project could be used or modified by nurse educators to purposefully integrate self-care into the curriculum. Both nursing students and nurses face stressors. Part of a strong nursing professional identity includes the ability to perform self-care activities. However, self-care has not been a formalized component of nursing education. This mixed-methods scholarship of teaching and learning project used a pre-post design with survey and narrative responses to determine relationships between purposeful integration of self-care spaces and mini lessons and students' perceived self-care barriers, motivators, and participation. Results indicated positive changes on many aspects of the survey, particularly in stress control, relaxation, and work-life balance; however, there was a decline in reported sleep. The most popular mini lessons were exercise, sleep hygiene, meditation, and meal preparation. Time emerged as a major barrier to participation in self-care activities, along with low motivation and self-imposed expectations. Incorporating a variety of self-care opportunities into the first semester of a nursing program may be a beneficial way to support students. Self-care activities could also be scaffolded throughout the program to reinforce learning and contribute to professional identity formation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article presents comments on sociologist Bernard C. Go's paper "The Chinese in the Philippines: Facts and Fancies," which was published in the October 1972 issue of the journal "Philippine Sociological Review." The author limits the discussion to one area touched upon by Go's paper, namely, certain aspects of the formal educational arrangements of the Chinese in the Philippines which may help or hinder integration. The distribution of Chinese schools in the country is as follows 25 in Manila, 10 in the Manila suburbs, 45 in Luzon, 15 in the Bicol Region, 30 in the Visayas, and 26 in Mindanao. This gives a total of 151 schools in the whole country. A significant trait of the Chinese school is that it offers a double curriculum. The standard curriculum prescribed for the public and private schools by the Philippine Department of Education is offered in the morning by Filipino teachers. The material used in Chinese schools for courses in Chinese originate in Taiwan, much of it produced by the education section of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Commission in Taipei. The management of many schools has been under boards of trustees compliant with policies of China's Nationalist government and party.

The article discusses characteristics of effective guitar teachers, along with information on a stringed music curriculum developed by the organization Austin Classical Guitar (ACG). Topics include information on traits of music teachers including one who is said to be organized and directs students to play for higher amount of time, and a self-reflective teachers; and the curriculum which features a music library, theory worksheets and exam components.

In an era where the digital realm is redefining the boundaries of learning, the teaching of Arabic acquires new dimensions. This field targets specific audiences with distinct characteristics and complex linguistic needs. In particular, the instruction of Arabic to specialists faces a range of issues and challenges that require focused guidance and attention. This research paper aims to highlight the main issues, such as the diversity of learners' goals, needs, and motivations. The importance of e-learning and the methodologies for utilizing digital resources to enhance the effectiveness of Arabic language instruction in general with that for specialists and also for general life situations are underscored. Major challenges faced in this process, particularly in the Arab world are discussed. The findings of this study underscore the importance of integrating e-learning and digital tools in teaching Arabic to specialists and highlight the need for greater efforts to develop educational curricula. Addressing the participation rates in senior secondary mathematics courses in Australian schools remains a critically important issue. In this paper, the authors report on quantitative findings from a study in which all year 11 and year 12 (aged 17–18 years) Australian Tertiary Admissions Ranking (ATAR) students in Western Australia were invited to participate. The aim was to explore the perceptions of these students regarding their enrolment in higher-level mathematics courses. Data from 1633 students were collected using a survey instrument comprised of 12, 5-point, Likert-scale items. Data were analysed by applying two statistical procedures: calculating frequencies of the 12 items in the scale and examining associations with demographic characteristics and individual items through generalised linear modelling. Analyses indicated most students agreed that other courses of study were more attractive, with almost half indicating that they did not like mathematics. In addition, approximately half of the students said that they did not need to enrol in any mathematics course for ATAR or for university entrance. Significant findings were also identified for gender, school type, and school gender. The knowledge gained from this research is valuable in understanding students' reasons for choosing not to enrol in higher-level mathematics courses when they have the option to do so and, more broadly, to address persistently low or declining participation rates in these areas of study. Purpose: The aim of this paper is to explore mindfulness and self-compassion teachings and practices embedded in a leadership course and their outcome on stress regulation of doctoral-level students. Design/methodology/approach: Eight valid and reliable pre-and post-assessment inventories were administered prior to the first week of class and following the completion of the doctoral-level class. The test scores were measured for improvement and for differences between various demographic groups. Findings: The results suggest significant improvement on almost every mindfulness subscale with approximately 5–22% of the variance in subscale scores attributed to participation. Doctoral students over 40 indicated more score improvement than students under 40, and doctoral students of color indicated more significant score increases than White students. Research limitations/implications: The research involves doctoral-level students which limits generalizability to other levels of education. Based on the findings, scaling analysis should be conducted on other types of students for generalization purposes. Practical implications: Institutions looking to incorporate wellness practices into curriculum can embed these types of practices into their course design. Social implications: Faculty can become more intentional in how they engage students in mindful compassion skills within their academic programs. Originality/value: The paper adds a quantitative study into the literature surrounding efficacy of wellness practices in structured curriculum. Institutions looking to provide more resources to students to improve their wellness may find the model useful on their campuses, particularly for students over 40 and students of color. Post-conflict reconstruction conventionally consists of four pillars--security, political, economic, and social. Ideally, all these pillars are interconnected and develop simultaneously to accelerate the reconstruction and make it stable. Rwanda undoubtedly succeeded in many aspects of its post-conflict reconstruction and it is no wonder that it is frequently presented as a model for other African countries recovering from an intrastate conflict. But is this portrayal real? Aren't there hidden pitfalls which could, in a long-term perspective, reverse the reconstruction into destruction? This paper will address these questions from the very important but usually neglected perspective of the education system, which is an integral part of the social pillar of the reconstruction, and which is perceived as a prerequisite for the development of the country and the reconciliation of different social groups. Through field research conducted in primary schools in Rwanda, the paper suggests that the reform of education after the 1994 Rwandan genocide (and the curriculum in particular) has been politicized and serves as a tool of the current RPF regime, legitimizing its authoritarian practices to establish a uniform and obedient society. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to share findings from empirically driven conceptual research into the implications for English teachers of understanding generative AI as a "tool" for writing. Design/methodology/approach: The paper reports early findings from an Australian National Survey of English teachers and interrogates the notion of the AI writer as "tool" through intersectional feminist discursive-material analysis of the metaphorical entailments of the term. Findings: Through this work, the authors have developed the concept of "coloniser tool-thinking" and juxtaposed it with First Nations and feminist understandings of "tools" and "objects" to demonstrate risks to the pursuit of social and planetary justice through understanding generative AI as a tool for English teachers and students. Originality/value: Bringing together white and First Nations English researchers in dialogue, the paper contributes a unique perspective to challenge widespread and common-sense use of "tool" for generative AI services. Blueprint provides a base for assessment by assigning proportionate weightage to various content areas and helps the paper setter to construct a uniform and valid assessment. This study aimed to design and validate a blueprint for theory in Community Medicine as per the new curriculum for Medical Undergraduates in India. Blueprint in community medicine was designed by assigning impact score (I) and frequency score (F) for the competencies. Blueprint was validated using the Content Validity Index (CVI), and inter-rater agreement for subject experts using Fleiss' kappa statistics was calculated. Feedback from faculty and students was obtained afterward to assess the postimplementation response. Blueprint was designed by an expert group where impact score and frequency score were assigned to 146 competencies in the theory of Community Medicine. In Delphi survey I, 63.2% of subject experts responded, while in Delphi survey II, a response rate of 58.3% was achieved. Value of the Fleiss' Kappa test for an inter-rater agreement was 0.68, i.e. "substantial agreement," while CVI among the raters came out to be 0.86, i.e. overall valid assessment. Feedback of faculty (n = 11) suggested that the blueprint was helpful and standardized the paper setting, whereas feedback from students (n = 138) depicted that it helped in preparing for exams, and they would recommend it to other students. Validated blueprint by consensus of subject experts has impact score and frequency score along with topic-wise distribution of marks for the convenience of faculty and its utility is well proven among learners too. Introduction/Purpose: Economics is a dynamic subject whose students use the contents to address real-life problems. Therefore, this paper examines the transformation of economics to tackle teachers' challenges in the teaching of economics. Design/Methodology/Approach: This paper used a qualitative research technique to collect information from teachers based on a phenomenological research design. A purposive sampling technique was used to select 12 teachers of economics in 6 selected schools in Buffalo City. A semi-structured interview was used to elicit information from the respondents and the data were analysed using a thematic approach. Findings: The study identifies certain notable issues including imprecise economics curriculum materials and learners' inability to demonstrate interest due to various statistics and data components of the subject. Teachers' participation in professional development activities such as seminars, in-service training and workshops for knowledge updates is one of the solutions offered to overcome these difficulties. Limitation: This paper uses only 12 economics teachers from Buffalo City metropolitan municipality. Larger samples can be used in another municipality. A quantitative approach can be used to accommodate representative samples. Practical Implications: Teachers are expected to be at the forefront of disseminating the contents of the subject appropriately because a teacher can only give what he or she has. Teachers should be proactive and current with the recent developments in the nation and be technologically compliant. This paper focuses on the connection between a field of education and national curricula in secondary education and individual religious commitment. This article builds on the idea that formal education is not only meant to transmit knowledge but also to create competencies that involve a combination of knowledge, skills, and social values. Moreover, institutional factors related to an educational system may shape religious commitment by providing opportunities and constrains promoted by a national curriculum. While the competencies approach sheds light on the connection between individual education and religiosity, the contextual approach helps in understanding the relationship between a national curriculum in secondary education and individual religiosity. Enhancing student motivation to manage their learning process and attain selftransformation in Oral English learning presents a notable challenge. This study emerged from a Role Play Oral English Course (RPOEC) which utilizes English cartoon film clips to enhance primary students' oral English skills through role play, facilitating meaningful language input and output. Implemented in a Chinese context where English language exposure is limited, this qualitative case study, combined with action research, explores how autonomous learning is fostered through RPOEC. The study engaged a Grade Six class of 30 students (25 girls and 5 boys) in northern China, investigating strategies to trigger learners' interests and form their independent learner identities autonomously, empower learners in their educational journey, encourage reflective practices in oral English learning, and involve learners in evaluative processes. Data, collected through a combination of observations, focus group discussions, and document analysis for three months, were thematically analyzed across four intertwined perspectives: situated learning, interactive communication, cooperative learning, and evaluative discussions. The paper posits that the outlined curricular approach can be tailored to educators' needs aiming to cultivate students' oral English skills within a situated, interactive, and collaborative learning environment, pushing learners towards autonomous engagement. Text-to-SQL is the task of translating a natural language query into a structured query language. Existing text-to-SQL approaches focus on improving the model' s architecture while ignoring the relationship between queries and table schemas and the differences in difficulty between examples in the dataset. To tackle these challenges, a twostage curriculum learning framework for text-to-SQL (TSCL-SQL) is proposed in this paper. To exploit the relationship between the queries and the table schemas, a schema identification pre-training task is proposed to make the model choose the correct table schema from a set of candidates for a specific query. To leverage the differences in difficulty between examples, curriculum learning is applied to the text-to-SQL task, accompanied by an automatic curriculum learning solution, including a difficulty scorer and a training scheduler. Background: Problem-based learning (PBL) is well established in medical education and beyond, and continues to be developed and explored. Challenges include how to connect the somewhat abstract nature of classroom-based PBL with clinical practice and how to maintain learner engagement in the process of PBL over time. Objective: A study was conducted to investigate the efficacy of decision-PBL (D-PBL), a variant form of PBL that replaces linear PBL cases with virtual patients. These Web-based interactive cases provided learners with a series of patient management pathways. Learners were encouraged to consider and discuss courses of action, take their chosen management pathway, and experience the consequences of their decisions. A Web-based application was essential to allow scenarios to respond dynamically to learners’ decisions, to deliver the scenarios to multiple PBL classrooms in the same timeframe, and to record centrally the paths taken by the PBL groups. Methods: A randomized controlled trial in crossover design was run involving all learners (N=81) in the second year of the graduate entry stream for the undergraduate medicine program at St George’s University of London. Learners were randomized to study groups; half engaged in a D-PBL activity whereas the other half had a traditional linear PBL activity on the same subject material. Groups alternated D-PBL and linear PBL over the semester. The measure was mean cohort performance on specific face-to-face exam questions at the end of the semester. Results: D-PBL groups performed better than linear PBL groups on questions related to D-PBL with the difference being statistically significant for all questions. Differences between the exam performances of the 2 groups were not statistically significant for the questions not related to D-PBL. The effect sizes for D-PBL–related questions were large and positive (>0.6) except for 1 question that showed a medium positive effect size. The effect sizes for questions not related to D-PBL were all small (≤0.3) with a mix of positive and negative values. Conclusions: The efficacy of D-PBL was indicated by improved exam performance for learners who had D-PBL compared to those who had linear PBL. This suggests that the use of D-PBL leads to better midterm learning outcomes than linear PBL, at least for learners with prior experience with linear PBL. On the basis of tutor and student feedback, St George’s University of London and the University of Nicosia, Cyprus have replaced paper PBL cases for midstage undergraduate teaching with D-PBL virtual patients, and 6 more institutions in the ePBLnet partnership will be implementing D-PBL in Autumn 2015. It is pervasive within the nursing culture, and researchers have consistently documented it across the nursing continuum in education and practice (Layne et al., 2019). Current published nursing research is lacking on how curriculum within undergraduate nursing programs prepares students to identify and address incivility in their nursing practice. • What the paper adds to the existing knowledge. ○ Self-efficacy is cultivated by experience. This study's participants were provided with a safe environment to observe and learn about identifying and addressing incivility. Nursing educators should consider including virtual simulation addressing incivility in nursing in the curriculum. This study demonstrated that this teaching strategy can increase nursing students' self-efficacy. This knowledge can inform future research, curriculum development, and nursing practice surrounding the prevention of and strategies to address incivility- which when addressed successfully could lead to improved patient outcomes with fewer adverse safety events due to improved care provider communication, successful assimilation of nurses into the nursing workforce by empowering nursing students, and less turnover and burnout experienced by nurses. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of participating in an incivility-based virtual simulation on undergraduate nursing students' perceived self-efficacy. (1) Describe the GSE scores of the study cohort and examine the association between pre-and post-intervention scores. (2) Explore students' perceptions of how participation affected their ability to identify and address incivility. A mixed-methods research design was utilized to determine the relationship between students' completion of an incivility-based virtual simulation and their self-efficacy in identifying and addressing incivility. The study compared pre- and post-intervention General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSE) scores and identified significant findings and themes among qualitative data collected. IRB approval was obtained for the study. Paired t-test results indicated a significant association between pre- and post-GSE scores with participants in the post-intervention group having significantly higher scores (Mean = 34.6, SD = 4.1). The themes that emerged from the qualitative data collected included communication, self-confidence, conflict resolution, and vicarious learning. The increase in scientific knowledge, oral healthcare, new dental hygiene workforce models, and the latest clinical skills, have elevated the need for doctoral prepared dental hygienists and dental therapists. These oral care providers need to be empowered with advanced preparation in education, research, and leadership. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to present two curricular models for a doctorate of philosophy and a doctorate of oral health practice recognizing that students may have different goals and interests in educational pursuits. The doctoral program models support the conduct of research and scholarship, which supports the research infrastructure of the profession and emphasizes the dissemination of scholarly works. Creation of doctoral programs for dental hygienists and dental therapists provides opportunities to broaden choices and strive for autonomy throughout their careers. These programs may support the development of additional scholars and advanced practitioners who can contribute to the scientific body of knowledge and create policies and pathways to improve population oral health. The basic purpose of the paper is to explore the issues and challenges faced by educational administrators, parents, students, and teachers concerning the effects of armed conflict on educational outcomes. It emphasizes the significance of peace education initiatives in Jammu and Kashmir a region enduring unrest for nearly three decades, profoundly affecting its educational sector. Employing a descriptive qualitative survey method, the study examines the experiences of different stakeholders of education and the factors influencing various stakeholders. The results indicate that academic stress emerges as a dominant risk factor leading to physical and psychological difficulties among the students. The research advocates for integrating peace education into the curriculum, creating a conducive learning environment to empower students in overcoming such challenges. Empirical findings strongly suggest that introducing peace education into the curriculum and peace education as a subject can be instrumental in addressing conflict-related issues. Using testimonio method and methodology, this paper provides the stories and narratives of three Chicanx teachers who developed and taught an Ethnic Studies course to Latinx students in a large urban high school. Long celebrated as a way to fill in missing history, art, literature, resistance, and knowledge of communities of color, this paper argues that Ethnic Studies is also a vehicle to grow and embolden student sense of critical civic literacy. Through the narratives that emerge from these three teachers, the curriculum and pedagogy offered by these teachers positively impacts and propels students to advocate for themselves and their communities through civic and political action. Purpose: Certain researchers have expressed concerns about inequitable discipline representations in an integrated STEM/STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) unit that may limit what students gain in terms of depth of knowledge and understanding. To address this concern, the authors investigate the stages of integrated teaching units to explore the ways in which STEAM programs can provide students with a deeper learning experience in mathematics. This paper addresses the following question: what learning stages promote a deeper understanding and more meaningful learning experience of mathematics in the context of STEAM education? Design/methodology/approach: The authors carried out a qualitative case study and collected the following data: interviews, lesson observations and analyses of curriculum documents. The authors took a sample of four different STEAM programs in Ontario, Canada: two at nonprofit organizations and two at in-school research sites. Findings: The findings contribute to a curriculum and instructional model which ensures that mathematics curriculum expectations are more explicit and targeted, in both the learning expectations and assessment criteria, and essential to the STEAM learning tasks. The findings have implications for planning and teaching STEAM programs. Originality/value: The authors derived four stages of the STEAM Maker unit or lesson from the analysis of data collected from the four sites, which the authors present in this paper. The aim of this research is to compare the main aims and objectives, learning outcomes or contents/concepts of the mathematics curriculum for VIII (IX) primary schools used in Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Turkey. Mathematics curricula for Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Turkey are comparatively analyzed in the following research article: a) Montenegrin mathematics curriculum and program used for primary school grade 9, b) Serbian mathematics curriculum and program c) used for primary school grade IX Bosnia and Herzegovina mathematics curriculum, d) Croatian mathematics curriculum used for primary school VIII class, and e) Republic of Turkey Mathematics Curriculum VIII. It is the syllabus used in the classroom. Each country does its best to design a quality curriculum by comparing its curriculum with other countries, which means the goal is to get the best education system possible. As I am from Montenegro, my main goal is to find the best possible education system for my country by comparing it with the countries of former Yugoslavia and Turkey. The result is clear and stated in the paper, in short, I can say that the results are that we have a random curriculum and the aim is to develop it and integrate it into modern teaching and put into practice practices that will generate interest and desire to learn. As a result, studies should be carried out on the use of education, the quality of the education system, teaching staff and teaching materials in a way that includes all aspects of life in the teaching process. From the above, I can say that it is a continuation of the V (VI), VI (VII) curriculum, which has already been compared with the addition of the Turkish curriculum, where the concept of introduction and paper is similar with minor changes., excluding the part by comparison. Experiential learning has long been a part of higher-education food and agricultural training. This paper focuses on experiential learning in a graduate food studies course on dairy. It suggests that relationships and camaraderie built in part through an experiential approach to learning may act as mediator and facilitator of both empathetic and critical thought around food and agriculture. Shared experiences outside the classroom may also help create a foundation for deep engagement among students and democratized discussions in the classroom. While this kind of approach may not be viable in every institution or situation, this paper seeks to contribute to a growing literature around a variety of teaching strategies that can play a role in food systems education.
