This paper explores how digital tracking is incorporated into family life in Munich. Parents using tracking technologies found them to be useful in caring for their children’s safety and preventing violence. This paper argues that monitoring was characterised by moral friction, since parents wanted their children to be more independent and questioned whether they should control their everyday movements and online activities, but were anxious about what could happen if they did not track their children digitally. The paper reports qualitative research involving both interviews (21 with parents and 8 with children) and participant observation in home settings or community organisations. The paper also analyses children’s experiences, who found tracking to be useful in emergencies or for locating their parents, but mostly used social media sites such as Snapchat to monitor their friends or siblings. The paper discusses horizontal forms of surveillance in which children would check their parent’s or friend’s locations in real time. As such, we see multiple ways through which notions of familial care are negotiated in relation to the use of digital tracking. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Women' s health-related human rights are contested. Beyond the recent pushbacks on abortion rights, more subtle developments are discernable. This paper dissects one case study illustrating how professional self-regulation in pharmaceutical law can undermine equal access to emergency contraception (EC). In Switzerland, around 100,000 "morning after" pills are sold through pharmacies per year. Empirical evidence demonstrates how traumatic or shameful the experience can be for women. Because if regulation was liberalized in 2002 and EC has since been available without a doctor' s prescription, access remains subject to strict professional gatekeeping. Women must undergo a compulsory interview with a pharmacist in a pharmacy backroom. They must indicate their contact details, answer an intrusive questionnaire archived for twenty years, receive information about sexually transmitted diseases, and bear the costs. Prices for EC vary and peak in the evening and on weekends. The exceptionalism of access to EC, despite formal legal liberalization, highlights gender bias and perpetuates shame and stigma surrounding women's sexually active behavior. Switzerland's normative position on access to contraception is based on individual responsibility and formal equality. Every woman is responsible for avoiding unwanted pregnancy, and access to EC is guaranteed since it is available in all pharmacies. In reality, access obstacles created by EC dispensing mechanisms result in intersectional inequalities, depending on women's age, socio-economic background, and migration status. This paper critically deconstructs the intricate intertwining of a liberal focus on individual responsibility and the disciplining power mechanisms of professional gatekeepers affecting female bodies and choices. Going beyond the personal and the political, it demonstrates how backsliding on sexual and reproductive rights can happen through the backdoor of professional self-regulation. The present paper is an attempt to analyze the military politics in Myanman Myanmar/Burma is the longest-running military-ruled country in Southeast Asia. After independence on the 4th of January 1948 from the United Kingdom under the leadership of General Aung San of the Burma National Army (BNA). In July 1947, Aung San was assassinated by rivals under the leadership of U Saw, but achieved independence under Aung San lieutenant U Nu. Since its struggle for independence, the armed forces known as the "Tatmadaw" played an important role in gaining independence and it was under the Burmese Independence Army (BIA) that Myanmar got its independence. Myanmar has been under military rule for more than 50 years in its 75-year history. The military's enormous influence over the country's politics, state institutions and other areas is unimaginable. However, there are historical reasons behind the military's influence. The main purpose of this article is to discuss the history of the rising power, influence and extent of the military in Myanmar politics. Based on these, this paper highlights the military of Myanmar in the pre-independence politics. This paper also focuses on the military and post-independence politics in Myanmar. The utilization of a supporting tool in Double-Sided Incremental Forming (DSIF) imposes a stabilizing compressive stress through the sheet’s thickness, increasing, thereby, the material’s formability and fatigue life. However, these favorable effects strongly depend on a steady tool-metal contact condition. This work presents a general DSIF control scheme, which augments the conventional position servo-loop with explicit force feedback control. The algorithm is examined for its robustness and effectiveness using complex geometries with varying curvatures and wall angles. This paper presents a digital twin-assisted online monitoring and control system for machining operations. Process information including Cutter-Workpiece Engagement (CWE) maps are extracted from the virtual model of the process and fused with the CNC internal data as well as the measured external sensor data. Several applications are illustrated to demonstrate the system. Adaptive control of cutting load based on directly measured forces or reconstructed forces from an accelerometer-integrated tool holder is demonstrated. The spindle current data integrated with CWE information from the virtual model is utilized for the estimation of tool wear progression and tool breakage detection. Digital twin-assisted chatter detection and avoidance are presented by avoiding false alarms at the cutter's entry into and exit from work material which triggers transient vibrations. It is shown that by utilization of the digital twin data and information fusion, robust process monitoring and control can be achieved while anomalies and false alarms are avoided. The monitoring of complex industrial systems through the implementation of smart approaches provides unique opportunities, such as the characterisation of their real-time performance. Within this scope, there exists the need to support decision-making during maintenance processes, due to the presence of a multitude of faults in real-world systems and the difficulty of identifying the appropriate mitigating solutions. The proposed solution uses intelligent optimisation techniques to identify the ideal control solution within these complex systems when faults arise. This paper presents a framework based on an intelligent optimisation approach, which provides a workflow process for the support of decision-making during faulty situations. It is adapted and implemented to the demand-side of a Compressed Air System (CAS), thus providing a holistic approach in automating fault mitigation during real-time system operation. In implementing this framework, multiple intelligent optimisation techniques such as the Genetic Algorithm and the Particle Swarm Optimisation algorithms were adopted and implemented. Both algorithms were successful in providing the ideal control solution under fault conditions. For a typical production case study, the proposed optimisation approach results in a reduction of 40% in its air consumption, which directly improves its environmental performance and energy costs. This result demonstrates that this approach contributes a suitable control strategy for CAS when experiencing a pneumatic fault, which has a direct positive effect on the operational energy performance and costs. Cutting and abrasive processes affect the surface layer state of the components treated. This determines their performance in service. An adjustment of the surface layer properties would allow for enhanced performance. This paper introduces the influences of named processes on the surface layer state and their systematics. Models and sensor concepts for surface conditioning are described and combined to soft sensors which are the basis for active control within the processes. A validation study and actual applications of the conditioning concept are shown, allowing for further technological and scientific understanding of surface conditioning and its contribution to material and energy efficiency. Filter clogging represents a crucial issue in industrial filtration systems, and it can lead to various problems, such as reduced filtration efficiency, increased maintenance costs, and potential production disruptions. This paper presents a Machine Learning (ML) integrated solution, developed using Python, within a digital environment system created using LabVIEW to prevent and control filter clogging. The primary objective is to optimize the monitoring, control, and maintenance of a Bag Filter pilot plant. The digital environment incorporates a data comparison tool that trigger a compressor for filter cleaning. A Machine Learning algorithm has been integrated into the digital environment, where a comparison within real data acquired and the predicted one were performed to validate the selected algorithms and evaluate the Data Comparison tool. This initial phase's outcomes were used to develop a control system using LabVIEW software. The software compares estimated pressure drop values, reflecting optimal working conditions, with directly recorded pressure drop values. If the difference exceeds 10% of the optimal pressure drop, the controller activates a compressed air cleaning system, removing excess dust from the filter sleeves using an air jet. Additionally, when the estimated and acquired values diverge consistently over a 60-minute period, a user warning is triggered for filter sleeve replacement. Several tests were conducted at different air inlet velocities to assess the error between acquired and predicted data. Frog-legged robots are commonly used for silicon wafer handling in semiconductor manufacturing. However, their precision, speed and versatility are limited by vibration which varies with their position in the workspace. This paper proposes a methodology for modelling the pose-dependent vibration of a frog-legged robot as a function of its changing inertia, and its experimentally-identified joint stiffness and damping. The model is used to design a feedforward tracking controller for compensating the pose-dependent vibration of the robot. In experiments, the proposed method yields 65–73% reduction in RMS tracking error compared to a baseline controller designed for specific poses of the robot. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper presents a PyQt6 server-based application design for controlling a quadrotor multibody system in a simulated environment using the Gazebo 3D model and ROS2 on Linux. The combination of PyQt6 with ROS2 offers an intuitive graphical interface that simplifies access to control parameters and flight modes. The system incorporates a unique Gazebo plugin that connects to a proportional-derivative (PD) controller, providing stable quadrotor flight control. Notably, this plugin facilitates precise quadrotor movements and establishes reliable communication between the server and quadrotor, distinguishing it from other plugins. Moreover, simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed PyQt6 server-based application in real-time quadrotor control. The results exemplify the system's capability to achieve stable and precise quadrotor movement by effectively controlling motion along the three axes (x, y, and z) along with yaw. However, the primary contribution of the system presented in this paper lies in the development of a robust PyQt6 server-based application designed to control a quadrotor multibody system. Furthermore, the system exhibits inherent potential for extension to encompass the control of a physical quadrotor, thereby substantiating its viability in real-world applications. Many assembled products contain parts that are not rigid, and there is a large variety of such parts, which might be as different as cables, sheet metals, plastic covers, or foams. The assembly processes of such products may also involve non-rigidity in the tools used. Non-rigidity in the parts and tools adds additional degrees of freedom to the assembly processes and systems, which, on the one hand, adds engineering complexity, and on the other hand, may be the key for superior solutions. This paper reviews recent developments in models, methods, handling techniques, and control of such parts at the assembly station and systems levels with a main focus on applications related to the manufacturing industry. The core areas of knowledge addressed by this paper cover advanced models for non-rigid objects, process and system planning, new tooling, and new control concepts based on perception and human-robot interaction. More research work is expected in the field of modelling and perception due to the development of computer vision, robotics, and artificial intelligence. New advances on the processing and assembly hardware can also be expected due to the highly active research field of soft material robotics and high-payload-gripping with soft material versatility. Online labor platforms (OLPs) can use algorithms along two dimensions: matching and control. While previous research has paid considerable attention to how OLPs optimize matching and accommodate market needs, OLPs can also employ algorithms to monitor and tightly control platform work. In this paper, we examine the nature of platform work on OLPs, and the role of algorithmic management in organizing how such work is conducted. Using a qualitative study of Uber drivers' perceptions, supplemented by interviews with Uber executives and engineers, we present a grounded theory that captures the algorithmic management of work on OLPs. In the context of both algorithmic matching and algorithmic control, platform workers experience tensions relating to work execution, compensation, and belonging. We show that these tensions trigger market-like and organization-like response behaviors by platform workers. Our research contributes to the emerging literature on OLPs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

As a global public health crisis, antibiotic resistance (AR) should be monitored and managed under the One-Health concept according to the World Health Organization (WHO), considering the interconnection between humans, animals, and the environment. But this approach often remains focused on human health and rarely on the environment and its compartments, especially wastewater as the main AR receptor. Wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) not only are not designed for reliving AR but also provide appropriate conditions for enhancing AR through different mechanisms. By reviewing the research-based statistics on the inclusion of WWTPs in the One-Health/AR program crisis, this paper highlights the importance of paying attention to these hotspots, at first. Also, the importance and technical roadmap for the application of WWTPs in both surveillance and management of AR were provided. The current position of these facilities was also evaluated using strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) analysis. In the end, the concluding knowledge gaps and research needs for future investigations were presented. Despite the fact that wastewater matrices are the hotspot for AR dissemination, WWTPs appear under-represented in One-Health/AR literature. So, of the 414434 articles retrieved for One-Health only 1.5% (n = 6321) focused on AR and about 0.04% (n = 158) on WWTPs. The potential of WWTPs inclusion in AR surveillance has been confirmed by several studies, however, when it comes to its inclusion for management of AR, more evidence should be presented, which confirmed by SWOT results. As such, WWTPs simultaneously provide opportunities for AR surveillance as it is assumed that this medium can reflect the reality of the corresponding society, and for managing unexpected crises which could impact the public. Nonetheless, there are still numerous considerations to change WWTPs role from Achilles' heel to Ajax' shield, including strengthening the research-based knowledge and conducting both surveillance and management strategies of AR under One-Health concept (One-Health/AR) in a clear straightforward framework. This paper is a review article with the objective of providing valuable, recent and solid information and critical understanding of symptoms and control of selected leaf diseases of rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis Muell. Arg) using secondary information and data harvested from previously published studies found online. Data gathered showed that H. brasiliensis is subject to a plethora of economically important diseases mainly of fungal origin, classified as leaf, stem and branch, panel and root disease. Some fundamental causal organisms of leaf diseases in H. brasiliensis includes Pseudocercospora ulei, Oidium heveae, Colletotrichum gloeosporioides and Corynespora cassiicola. Corynespora leaf fall caused by Corynespora cassiicola is currently accepted as the leaf disease which causes about 45% of yield loss to rubber in mostly Asian and African continents. The symptoms of South American Leaf Blight (SALB) range from discoloration of lamina to death of tree when untreated. Leaf disease symptoms range from white powdery patches to shriveling and falling off of tender leaves and translucent brownish yellow spots in semi-matured leaves in Oidium leaf disease. Colletotrichum leaf disease symptoms range from necrosis of tender leaves of young plants to defoliation and death of entire plant. Disease control is achieved by the use of chemicals and planting of disease-resistant varieties. Some phylloplane fungi are prospective biological control agents. The best treatment to manage Corynespora leaf fall disease (CLFD) in nurseries is the introduction of overhead shading coupled with application of the fungicide mancozeb. Diseases affecting the leaves of H. brasiliensis can be devastating and can lead to loss of multiple rubber trees and reduction in the latex production of the trees. Therefore, adequate preventive, curative and control measures against the diseases should be taking to ensure maintenance of a healthy rubber tree plantation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In the post-COVID global landscape and particularly in the era of economic uncertainty following war in Europe, a looming recession and intensifying economic tensions between the West and China, the MNC can no longer be conceptualized as the vertically integrated unit it used to be, but a much more amorphous network. An important paradox intensifies the problem of MNC control in the current scenario: while most empirical research suggests that diversified firms need decentralized control systems, some studies also contend that singular strategies must be developed to exploit synergies in the homogenizing world market. In this paper, we attempt to resolve this paradox by studying contingencies such as the level of centralization, reward systems, transfer pricing, and the geographic and technological contiguities within MNCs. The Fluid Catalytic Cracking unit (FCC) is a key process that plays an important technical and economical role in the refining industry. Over the past years, there has been an increased interest in applying advanced process modeling and control that would lead to a significant economic benefit of FCC operation. This paper provides a comprehensive overview about the current state of knowledge in modeling, control, and optimization of FCC and compares the various approaches that were applied recently with special attention to artificial intelligence methodologies. In this paper we demonstrate direct suppression of self-excited thermoacoustic instabilities over a range of operating conditions using targeted convective-acoustic interference. Premixed hydrogen enriched methane-air flames were confined in a cylindrical pipe resulting in self-excited instabilities that corresponded to the quarter wave mode of the pipe. To suppress the instability, the phenomenon of lock-in (synchronisation) between the acoustic mode and vortex shedding from a set of cylinders placed upstream was used to produce destructive interference and suppress the self-excited modes. This was done by varying the location of the cylinders to control the convective time-delay between the convective and acoustic modes so that their combined effect on the flame response was tuned to suppress the global fluctuation of the heat release rate. This leads to a reduction in the limit-cycle amplitude and stable operation without a significant change to the flame structure. Measurements were taken over a wide range of equivalence ratios to demonstrate that the method is capable of stabilising the system for all conditions. Using a methodology which relies on time-delays related to hydrodynamic instability, rather than flame-related parameters, enables its application to fuel-flexible systems, often designed to operate within a wide range of power outputs. Russia is China's main log supplier and has implemented a series of log export control policies. The implementation of Russia's export control policy has inevitably had an impact on China's timber processing industry. This paper uses breakpoint regression to analyse the impact of the increase in the import price of logs under the Russian log export control policy on the market price of timber products in China. The results show that under the control policy, the increase in log import prices had a significant positive impact on the timber product market when April 2008, January 2010 and January 2019 were the breakpoints. Due to the lag effects in price transmission, the impact on China's timber product market was not reflected when July 2007 and January 2018 were the breakpoints. The sliding mode controller has been suggested to achieve robust performance against parameter variations and load disturbances. It also offers a fast dynamic response, stable control system and easy hardware-software implementation. This paper focuses the application of this approach to the adjustment of a speed control DC motor, in Matlab Simulink simulation and Arduino hardware implementation, The main goal of this paper is to improve the performances of DC motor controlling by sliding mode. In first the modeling of DC motor is well explained in this paper, is important step for control of system, secondly the basic theory regarding sliding mode controller SMC using Lyapunovis function is presented. Finley the application of SMC using Matlab simulation and Arduino implementation for DC motor, the results show that SMC has a better performance compared to PI which is faster settling time and no overshoot and undershoot, could be used as an alternative controller for the DC Motor. This paper describes a new four-dimensional fractional discrete neural network with electromagnetic radiation model. In addition, the non-linear dynamics of the suggested model are examined, within the framework of commensurate, incommensurate and variable orders, through different numerical techniques such as Lyapunov exponent, phase portraits, bifurcation diagrams, and the 0–1 test method. The results imply that The behaviours of the proposed fractional discrete neural network model have rich and complex dynamical properties that are influenced by the variation of the system parameters, the commensurate order, the incommensurate order and the variable order. Moreover, the approximate entropy test and C o algorithm are carried out to measure complexity and validate the presence of chaos. Renewable energy sources have been widely disseminated around the world. However, due to weather fluctuations, energy storage systems are needed to supply the periods in which the renewable sources are absent. The reservoir of a hydroelectric plant is an example of energy storage that meets the demand even with climatic variations. However, in order to be able to use hydropower, an adequate land topology is necessary and the flooding of a large reservoir. The present work proposes a hybrid microgeneration composed of solar photovoltaic and hydropower in a parallel and complementary way. The daytime demand will be supplied by solar energy and the night time demand by stored water energy in a small adequate reservoir, and the grid will be the backup of the system. The methodologies used in the modeling, the system topology and the proposed control will be presented in this paper. This study highlights the feasibility of the proposal in some situations where there is no consumption or exchange of energy with the grid. This paper presents the development of a dynamical tropical algebra-based model of a vaccination center, which can be used to control and optimize the admission of users during center's operation. This paper investigates how an organization tries to restore trust after an organizational-level scandal by examining the trust repair process. The study adopts a qualitative research approach to analyze the case of the scandal at Temple University’s Fox School of Business concerning the submission of false data to the ranking body. This paper shows the importance of trust between education institutions and the society and how it is difficult to rebuild it after violation. While dealing with trust rebuilding at the organizational level, we should consider not only the prior reputation of the organization, but also appropriate timing of trust repair mechanisms and number of actors involved in the trust failure situation. Pneumatic systems are extensively used in industries for manufacturing, packaging, processing, palletizing, stamping, embossing as well as in industrial automation. They offer various advantages such as lower cost, easier maintenance, availability of working medium -- compressed air, as well as improved operational safety and are uncomplicated to design. The pneumatic systems exhibit significant non-linearity due to the dynamics of the pressure inside the pneumatic cylinder, fluctuations in the frictional force, and compressed air flow rates through the valves. The nonlinear nature of pneumatic systems affects the process dynamics significantly. There is a tremendous increase in applications requiring accurate position control of pneumatic cylinders. The main challenge is obtaining high positioning accuracy, improving the response time and reducing the error in displacement. In this review, an analysis of various techniques involved in positioning control for pneumatic systems is carried out. Later medieval theories of free choice differ fundamentally as to the importance they assign to deliberation. Some thinkers hold that the will's choices necessarily agree with the intellect's judgment, obtained by deliberation, of what is most worth choosing in a particular circumstance. They thus think that deliberation provides the object of choice. In addition, they take the control that is essential to free choice to be rooted in deliberation. Others object that deliberation cannot ground free choice since it is itself not originally in our control. They think that one can choose differently from what appears most choiceworthy upon deliberation, and so they deny that the object of choice is exclusively given by deliberation. This paper considers theories of the role of deliberation in free choice held by prominent thirteenth and early fourteenth-century thinkers. The advances in electronics, sensors, actuators, smart materials, computers, and communication technologies led to new and improved mechatronics-based smart tooling systems. This paper reviews the sensors and actuators used in tooling systems. The sensor principles to measure force, displacement, and temperature are explained. Actuators based on piezo, magnetorheological fluid, shape memory alloy, and magnetostrictive principles are discussed. Wireless and wire-based power supply and signal transmission techniques to stationary and rotating tools are described. The integration of sensors, actuators, power supply, and microcontrollers to various tooling systems used in boring, milling, turning, and grinding operations are presented along with their process monitoring and control applications in the industry. It is shown that the sensor-actuator tooling systems improve the accuracy, robustness, and productivity of machining which adds intelligence to the machine tools. The current challenges include widening the operating bandwidth of tooling systems, wireless power and high-speed data transmission, miniaturization of actuators and sensors, and onboard processing using embedded micro-controllers. The purpose of this paper is to improve the performance of the conventional direct torque control (DTC) method of a dual star induction motor (DSIM) by enhancing speed control and reducing the ripples of electromagnetic torque and stator current. To achieve this, we propose a new optimal tuned controller based on the combination of a fractional order proportional integral controller (FOPI) and particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm. The aim of this high-performance controller is to reduce the rise time, settling time, steadystate error, and effects of load disturbances in the speed response of the DSIM, as well as minimize oscillations in the torque and stator currents, particularly at low speeds. This strategy named DTC-FOPI-PSO will be investigated, and its performances will be compared with the traditional DTC strategy based on the classical PI controller. The most crucial control challenge in the hybrid system is the frequency stability, especially when they are in the face of load-generation imbalance and numerous uncertainties. In this paper, the synchronverter (SV) based on a micro-hydropower system is proposed to handle the intermittent power output of solar photo-voltaic. The standalone microgrid is modeled in the MATLAB/Simulink environment. Then, the power control form SV is performed using power angle control method. Several case studies are performed, and the simulation results show the dynamics of appropriate sharing of power for both the linear and nonlinear loads by the hybrid system. Both the frequency and total harmonic distortion of load voltage are kept within the standard limits. The application of SV shows a quick and smooth synchronization with micro-hydro. The change in irradiance level has been appropriately managed by power-sharing with micro-hydro to save the system from frequency imbalance during low light conditions. The power has been shared by providing an appropriate load angle between sources based on the irradiance level available at the time. The paper presents results on design and implementation the monitoring system to control temperature of heating facilities in Turiba university. Key point of the project was implementation the internet of things ideas into proposed system. A design and prototyping of hardware circuits, including used sensors and hardware control and communication boards based on Raspberry PI Pico platform, is described. Developed software solution for the control board, implemented with the use of MicroPython programming language, and user interface with the use of JavaScript programming language, are presented. Results of experimental verification of developed solutions confirmed correctness of all anticipated results. In recent times, Electro-Mechanical Actuator (EMA) is widely employed in various aerospace applications because of its compactness, ease of maintenance, and cost efficiency. It attracts most of the researcher for simulation and performance analysis. It is very much important to study its control system behaviour. In general, EMA requires, three loop cascade control, but for aerospace application two loop cascade control is used for speed and position controls due to dynamic load changing requirement. Most research efforts on EMA system has used a transfer function model of all its subsystems. Nevertheless, this technique does not yield complete outcomes for analysing its performance. To analyse its performance and characteristics in dynamic condition, an experimental model is essential. In addition, this model needs to cater for analysing performance of different capacity EMA. The primary goal of this work is to simulate unique EMA model with position control using a practical data and analyse its performance. In this design, EMA is modelled by three-phase Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motor, six-step commutation logic, a speed sensor (Tacho) and a position sensor using Linear Variable Differential Transformer (LVDT). Position and speed controls are handled by Proportional (P) and Proportional plus Integral (PI) controllers respectively. The process reaction curve method is used to tune the controllers. This tuning approach is adequate to enable accurate and robust speed and position control. This paper focus on the simulation and performance analysis of a practical EMA system with position and speed controls in matlab-simulink. One target game models are played by two or more players where one player becomes a target of the others in a competitive playing ground. The present paper proposes a novel one target game model in the context of two-player games and provides strategies to control the life insurance market between two companies to decide which one is better for their customers. In this regard, a new perspective is established for building control-based environments to several insurance models controlled by finite sets. Here, different chasing strategies are designed in the insurance market in such a way that one company offers its own current policy for its clients, whereas the other tries to reach the policy of its opponent as close as possible to dominate the current market. The main contribution of this work is to design a better life insurance model for the company by using a game theoretical point of view to develop its current marketing policy. For having a clear vision over the construction, numerical examples are provided to justify the main results of the paper. This paper describes the bibliometric analysis of control based on active disturbance rejection. The research was conducted in the Scopus database to identify academic participation on this topic. Based on a theoretical framework that resulted in 1268 articles from 1993 to 2022, networks of co-occurrences, co-authorships and actor countries were mapped, which made explicit the relationships in space and time, highlighting the countries France, the United States and China. The research becomes relevant for academia and civil society by highlighting research in emerging countries with different approaches and the possibility of gaining synergy with knowledge sharing, as well as best practices applied worldwide for the management of information systems in the field of automatic process control. This paper presents the design of a proportional integral derivative control strategy applied to the speed control of a direct current motor, this was measured the ability of the system to follow a reference signal of step type. The measurement was made in the frame of the mean square error percentage where the degree of the polynomial with which the disturbance is approximated was varied, giving as a result for m=2 a mean square error percentage of 2.35%, for m=4 a mean square error percentage of 1.23% and finally for m=6 a mean square error percentage of 0.87%. The electrooculographic signals or EOG are widely used to develop robotic equipment to serve people who have partially or totally lost the functionality of one or several members of their body due to neurodegenerative diseases such as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or serious accidents. These signals are applied in the control of robotic arms, serious games, robotic wheelchairs, among others. Also, these signals require specialized electronic circuits for amplification and filtering, in addition to requiring a microcontroller for processing them. This paper presents the results of the development of a prototype of an elctrooculography for the movement of a wheelchair scale, the design of data acquisition, the transmission system via Bluetooth and control of the wheelchair with eye movement is presented. This paper presents the design of a control strategy based on the active rejection of disturbances, applied to the temperature regulation of a crucible furnace for the aluminum smelting process. For this purpose, the generalized proportional integral control was used, which was designed based on the simplified model of the furnace identified by means of the Matlab PIDtuner app. When applying the designed control to the model, follow-up data were taken from the reference signal and analyzed using the percentage of quadratic error measured. This showed that the generalized integral proportional control applied to the system model obtained a mean square error percentage of 0.433%, and with a 50% variation of the model parameters the mean square error percentage was 2.88%. China had suffered the COVID-19 outbreak from the end of 2019, SARS-CoV-2 began to spread secretly within the community and in hospitals, causing numerous citizens to be infected without knowing it. After the official confirmation of COVID-19, hospital diagnosis and treatment systems were under great pressure, and medical supplies were scarce. Then the pandemic experienced an explosive growth and quickly peaked. In order to respond to the challenge, the Chinese government quickly built hospitals, adjusted the diagnosis and treatment systems, deployed medical staff to support areas affected by the epidemic, isolated and treated infected patients as much as possible, reminded citizens to use good protection, and controlled the epidemic step-by-step. In this paper, we used official published data and medical literature about the transmission of COVID-19 as well as prevention and control guidelines issued by the Chinese government and hospitals, adopted a multi-dimensional analysis framework, divided the outbreak into three phases: (1) "blind man touching the elephant" phase, (2) "opening Pandora's box" phase, (3) "whole offensive and whole defensive tactics" phase. This was done to describe the development of and response to the pandemic. This paper suggested that when dealing with similar outbreaks in the future, we should do a better job of providing protective guidance and material reserves in advance, strengthen the emergency response capacity of medical institutions, and aim to share this information with the public medical systems of other countries which also face severe tests. The paper analyses the current state of knowledge on approaches for the practical implementation of machine learning based assistance systems for production planning and control. A concept of a procedure model for application-oriented projects in the field of industrial series production is proposed. It focusses on order sequencing and machine allocation in a real time production environment. As part of an application-oriented research project, a use case is referenced. In this paper, a first conceptual approach is presented, using the example of an industrial production of printed circuit boards. In the following steps, practical suitability is checked on the basis of the practical reference, conclusions are drawn and the methodology will be developed further. The starting point of this paper represents the current problem within Supply Chain department: the stock of obsolete parts that leads to a great loss of profit and increase costs, in an automotive company. The process of replacing obsolete references takes about 60 days, and many of the customers orders remain in past due. This article includes a thorough analysis of the obsolete parts movement and the process of replacing old references. Input data were centralized and compared using graphics, targets have been set and performance indicators for measurement. Six Sigma improvement method was applied. The purpose of this paper is to redefine the process of replacing obsolete parts (named supersession) in order to satisfy the delivery time of the orders to the customers. Roll-to-roll (R2R) nano-manufacturing processes are critical in the manufacturing of electronic components for consumer products such as displays and flexible electronics. However, there are significant quality and process control challenges inherent to the control of R2R processes at nanometer scales. These challenges arise from the strong nonlinearities in the underlying phenomena, high levels of noise, and large measurement delays. This paper analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of several control strategies in mitigating the challenges with control of R2R process steps. With the increasing integration of renewable energies into power grids, their control and power quality are becoming the main focus of many research efforts. In a grid-connected photovoltaic system, the control strategy is necessary to efficiently use the solar energy as well as to ensure high power quality. This paper presents a study on the robustness of a Fractional Order PI controller based on the Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm (PSOFOPI) in a grid-connected PV system. The controller used was integrated into the inverter to apply voltage-oriented control (VOC). Fractional order controllers have an additional degree of freedom, so that a wider range of parameters is available to provide better control. Parameter optimization of the FOPI and classical PI controllers are performed using the PSO algorithm. The performance of the FOPI controller is compared with that of the classical PI controller. A complete study of the behavior of the grid connected PV system is tested using MATLAB/Simulink. The simulation results show the performance and efficiency of the PSO-FOPI controller compared to the classical PI controller in terms of rapidity, stability and precision, as well as the THD reduction of the current injected to the grid for any variation of solar irradiance. Mobile robotic platforms have become increasingly popular. Commercially available versions of mobile robots are designed to support human operators in typical production environments. They may be used for transferring parts from one place to another, as well as for assisting the operator in a series of tasks, by utilizing the dexterity of their arm and end effector. This paper focuses on the development of a novel approach that allows the handling and transportation of parts through the simultaneous operation of human operators and mobile robots. In particular, a straightforward, easy to implement control strategy is used to adapt the operation of the mobile robot to the tasks carried out by the operator. This paper discusses also the advantages of introducing mobile robots in typical industrial environments and compares their potential against fully automated robotic solutions. The operation of mobile manipulators in a collaborative environment needs to be adapted to the characteristics and skills of human operators. Human activity recognition, utilizing wearable sensors and vision systems, could be used to fine tune the performance of the mobile manipulator so that human operators be better assisted. The goal is to develop a sense of safety and trust between the human and the manipulator in order to improve the ergonomics of the operator within the collaborative workspace. This paper reviews the technologies that can be used for activity tracking together with gait recognition as a biometric tool. These technologies could potentially allow the mobile robotic manipulator to dynamically adapt to the motion, skills, and intentions of the human operator and to the requirements of the task in action. This paper explores the initiation of women - or Vukhomba - in Pafuri, Mozambique. As historical literature illustrates, this is an event that is linked to the repression and regulation of sexuality by colonialists, missionaries and independent state rule. However, the paper forwards the proposition that initiation and sexuality are crucial for the self-expression and authority of women, and that it is in fact, central to the way in which people re-orientate themselves after events of war and displacement. Sexuality is part of the allure of the Pafuri as a border region, particularly for residents in South Africa and Mozambique, who share common linkages with each other over international boundaries.
