Amorpha fruticosa and Amygdalus pedunculata are common plant species used for greening construction in arid and semi-arid region of Northwest China. In order to explore the feasibility of greening construction and ecological restoration by A. fruticose with A. pedunculata, we examined the allelopathic effects of live concentrations of aqueous leaf extracts of A. fruticosa (0.025, 0.05, 0.10, 0.15 and 0.20 g ⋅ mL-1) on eight A. pedunculata varieties (YY1, YY3, YY4, YY5, YY6, SM6, SM7 and SM8), using the methods of paper-petri dish and soilless culture. The results showed that when the concentration of A. fruticosa leaf extracts were 0.025 and 0.05 g ⋅ mL-1, the seed germination and seedling growth of YY1 and SM6 were significantly better than other varieties. With increasing concentration of A. fruticosa leaf extracts, the catalase activity of A. pedunculata seedlings first increased and then decreased. The activities of peroxidase and superoxide dismutase, and the contents of soluble protein and chlorophyll showed a downward trend, while the contents of malondi-aldehyde and soluble sugar and the permeability of cell membrane gradually increased. Results of the principal component and cluster analysis showed that the growth potential of A. pedunculata decreased with the order of YY1, SM6, SM8, SM7, YY6, YY3, YY5 and YY4 under the allelopathic effect of A. fruticose. In conclusion, the artificial collocation and mixed planting of low-density of A. fruticosa with YY1 and SM6 were beneficial to seed germination and seedling growth of A. pedunculata. Based on the case study of Guiyang City, the minimum cumulative resistance model integrating construction land source, ecological rigid constraints and ecological function type resistance factor, was built by use of cost-distance analysis of urban spatial expansion resistance value through ArcGIS 9.3 software in this paper. Then, the ecological resistance of city spatial expansion of Guiyang from 2010 was simulated dynamically and the ecological suitability classification of city spatial expansion was assessed. According to the conflict between the newly increased city construction land in 2014 and its ecological suitability, the unreasonable city land spatial allocation was discussed also. The results showed that the ecological suitability zonation and the city expansion in the study area were basically consistent during 2010-2014, but the conflict between the new city construction and its land ecological suitability was more serious. The ecological conflict area accounted for 58.2% of the new city construction sites, 35.4% of which happened in the ecological control area, 13.9% in the limited development area and 8.9% in the prohibition development area. The intensification of ecological land use conflict would impair the ecological service function and ecological safety, so this paper put forward the city spatial expansion optimal path to preserve the ecological land and improve the construction land space pattern of Guiyang City so as to ensure its ecological safety. Green roof has a significant influence on reducing runoff volume, delaying runoff-yielding time, reducing the peak flow and improving runoff quality. This paper addressed the related research around the world and concluded from several aspects, i.e., the definition of green roof of different types, the mechanism how green roof manages runoff quantity and quality, the ability how green roof controls roof runoff, and the influence factors of green roof toward runoff quantity and quality. Afterwards, there was a need for more future work on research of green roof toward roof runoff, i.e., vegetation selection of green roof, efficient construction model selection of green roof, the regulating characteristics of green roof on roof runoff, the value assessment of green roof on roof runoff, analysis of source-sink function of green roof on the water pollutants of roof runoff and the research on the mitigation measures of roof runoff pollution. Socio-hydrology is an interdiscipline of hydrology, nature, society and humanity. It mainly explores the two-way feedbacks of coupled human-water system and its dynamic mechanism of co-evolution, and makes efforts to solve the issues that human faces today such as sustainable utilization of water resources. Starting from the background, formation process, and fundamental concept of socio-hydrology, this paper summarized the features of socio-hydrology. The main research content of socio-hydrology was reduced to three aspects: The tradeoff in coupled human-water system, interests in water resources management and virtual water research in coupled human-water system. And its differences as well as relations with traditional hydrology, eco-hydrology and hydro sociology were dwelled on. Finally, with hope to promote the development of socio-hydrology researches in China, the paper made prospects for the development of the subject from following aspects: Completing academic content and deepening quantitative research, focusing on scale studies of socio-hydrology, fusing socio-hydrology and eco-hydrology. Taking Jinjing Town in Dongting Lake area as a case, this paper analyzed the evolution of rural landscape patterns by means of life cycle theory, simulated the evolution cycle curve, and calculated its evolution period, then combining CA-Markov model, a complete prediction model was built based on the rule of rural landscape change. The results showed that rural settlement and paddy landscapes of Jinjing Town would change most in 2020, with the rural settlement landscape increased to 1194.01 hm2 and paddy landscape greatly reduced to 3090.24 hm2. The quantitative and spatial prediction accuracies of the model were up to 99.3% and 96.4%, respectively, being more explicit than single CA-Markov model. The accessibility of urban park green space is an important indicator to reflect how much the natural service supplied by parks could be enjoyed by citizens conveniently and fairly. This paper took Shenyang Tiexi District as an example to evaluate the accessibility of urban park green space based on QuickBird imagery and GIS software, with four modes of transportation, walking, non-motor vehicle, motor vehicle and public transport being considered. The research compared and analyzed the distribution of the accessible area and the accessible people of park green space. The result demonstrated that park green space in Shenyang Tiexi District was not enough and the distribution was not even. To be precise, the accessibility in southwest part and central part was relatively good, that in marginal sites was worse, and that in east part and north part was the worst. Furthermore, the accessibility based on different modes of transportation varied a lot. The accessibility of motor vehicle was the best, followed by non-motor vehicle and public transport, and walking was the worst. Most of the regions could be reached within 30 minutes by walking, 15 minutes by non-motor vehicle and public transport, and 10 minutes by motor vehicle. Soil eco-toxicology provides a theoretical basis for ecological risk assessment of contaminated soils and soil pollution control. Research on eco-toxicological effects and molecular mechanisms of toxic substances in soil environment is the central content of the soil eco-toxicology. Eco-toxicological diagnosis not only gathers all the information of soil pollution, but also provides the overall toxic effects of soil. Therefore, research on the eco-toxicological diagnosis of soil pollution has important theoretical and practical significance. Based on the research of eco-toxicological diagnosis of soil pollution, this paper introduced some common toxicological methods and indicators, with the advantages and disadvantages of various methods discussed. However, conventional biomarkers can only indicate the class of stress, but fail to explain the molecular mechanism of damage or response happened. Biomarkers and molecular diagnostic techniques, which are used to evaluate toxicity of contaminated soil, can explore deeply detoxification mechanisms of organisms under exogenous stress. Graphene is one of the most popular research topics in carbon nanomaterials. Because of its special physical and chemical properties, graphene will have wide applications. As the production and application amount is increasing, graphene will be inevitably released to the environment, resulting in risks of ecological environment and human health. It is of very vital significance for evaluating environmental risks of graphene scientifically and objectively to understand its environmental behavior and fate and explore its effect on the environmental behaviors of pollutants. This paper reviewed the environmental behavior of graphene, such as colloid properties and its stability in the aqueous environment and its transport through porous media. Additionally, the paper reviewed the effect of graphene on the transport and fate of pollutants. The interactions between graphene and heavy metals or organic compounds were especially discussed. Important topics should be explored including sorption mechanisms, interactions between graphene and soil components, influence of graphene on the transport and bioavailability of pollutants in environment, as well as approaches to quantifying graphene. The health of wetland ecosphere in an estuarine delta is determined by many factors, such as continuity of natural processes, ecosystem connectivity, habitat heterogeneity, and food web diversity. The contradiction between ecological and environmental protection and regional development, in the estuarine delta is becoming more and more prominent.. A series of man-made and natural processes directly and indirectly resulted in habitat fragmentation of wetlands, which has direct and strong impacts on the ecosphere health and the habitat function of wetlands. In this paper, we pro- vided a perspective on researches on the basic theory of healthy wetland ecosphere, landscape eco- logical network system, hydrologic network construction, key food webs, and habitat heterogeneity. At the regional and landscape scales, with the linkages between land use and ecosystem integrity as the main line, we clarified the influences of habitat fragmentation on wetland ecological functions, especially the effects of landscape integrity and river connectivity on wetland habitat. At the community and ecosystem scales, emphasis should be given on the relationship between food web and ecosystem stability, especially the supporting role of food web diversity and habitat heterogeneity on the construction of wetland biosphere. Further efforts should focuse on the wetland habitats construction based on landscape integrity, hydrologic connectivity, habitat heterogeneity and food web diversity. These efforts could help to develop and optimize the theory and method of constructing wetland ecosphere and enhancing its ecological function, and promote the sound development, of regional ecological environment and resource utilization in estuarine deltas. Accurate measurement and estimation of snow evaporation (sublimation) in forests is one of the important issues to the understanding of snow surface energy and water balance, and it is also an essential part of regional hydrological and climate models. This paper summarized the measurement and estimation methods of snow evaporation in forests, and made a comprehensive applicability evaluation, including mass-balance methods (snow water equivalent method, comparative measurements of snowfall and through-snowfall, snow evaporation pan, lysimeter, weighing of cut tree, weighing interception on crown, and gamma-ray attenuation technique) and micrometeorological methods (Bowen-ratio energy-balance method, Penman combination equation, aerodynamics method, surface temperature technique and eddy covariance method). Also this paper reviewed the progress of snow evaporation in different forests and its influencal factors. At last, combining the deficiency of past research, an outlook for snow evaporation rearch in forests was presented, hoping to provide a reference for related research in the future. The transfer of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs), a new type of environmental pollutants, could have more adverse effects on the environment than the ARGs themselves, while the horizontal gene transfer (HGT) could be the most important propagation pathways of the ARGs, being one of the reasons for the growing pollution of ARGs in the environment. This paper systematically elaborated the molecular elements of the horizontal transfer of ARGs and the related affecting factors, which was of significance for investigating the molecular mechanisms of the horizontal transfer of the ARGs. In combining with the phylogenetic mechanisms of multiple antibiotic resistances, this paper also provided effective strategies to reduce the transfer and proliferation of ARGs in the environment. The suitability assessment of regional construction land is one of the important prerequisites for the spatial arrangement in regional planning, and also, the important foundation for the reasonable utilization of regional land resources. With the support of GIS, and by using the regional comprehensive strength and spatial accessibility analysis and the eco-environmental sensitivity analysis, this paper quantitatively analyzed the development potential and its ecological limitation of the central and southern parts of Hebei Province. Besides, based on the cost-benefit analysis, the potential-limitation model was accordingly developed, and the three land suitability scenarios under different developmental concepts were captured through the interaction matrix. The results indicated that both the comprehensive strength and the development potential of the study area showed a primacy distribution pattern, and presented an obvious pole-axis spatial pattern. The areas with higher eco-environmental sensitivity were mainly distributed in the west regions, while those with lower eco-environmental sensitivity were in the east regions. Regional economic development concept had important effects on the regional ecological security pattern and urban growth. The newly developed principles and methods for the land suitability assessment in this paper could not only scientifically realize the spatial grid of regional development potential and capture the future land development trend and spatial distribution, but also provide scientific basis and effective ways for urban and regional planning to realize region 'smart growth' and 'smart conservation'. In some European and North American countries where forestry is highly developed, both public and private forest ownership regimes have being existed for a long time. Currently, the re- searches about both the dynamics of forest landscape and habitat pattern and the relationship be- tween habitat pattern and biological conservation in multi-ownership forest landscape are increasing- ly becoming important. This paper reviewed the effects of multi-ownership regime on forest land- scape pattern and animal habitat and emphasized on the ecological consequences of forest parceliza- tion and land divestiture, including the provision of diverse habitats and fragmentation of the exist- ing large-area habitat. This paper also summarized two ways (changing the ownership pattern and integrating the multi-ownership management by cross boundary coordination) for handling the con- flicts between small-scaled multi-ownership management and biological conservation at large scale in forestry-developed countries and analyzed the reasons that those countries prefer to adopt the latter one. Furthermore, the methodological limitations in simulating ownership pattern were pointed out. Finally, the present status, challenges and opportunities in the above-mentioned research issues in China were discussed, and the suggestions for further researches were provided.
