The quality of cotton and cotton/elastane single jersey knitted fabrics before and after softening was evaluated through their mechanical properties, pilling, and volume electrical resistivity. Elastane-containing fabrics have higher bursting elongation and stiffness, lower bursting strength, the same or higher pilling grade, and 23–27% lower electrical resistivities compared to 100% cotton due to the increased compactness that enables better contact between the loops, and easier flow of charge through them. Softening does not affect or slightly improves the fabric pilling (up to 1000 cycles); it decreases fabrics’ stiffness and increases their bursting strength and electrical resistivities. The last one was significantly decreased after the in situ synthesis of Cu-based nanoparticles on fabrics’ surfaces. Namely, fabrics were first treated with sodium alginate whose carboxylate groups crosslinked Cu2+-ions (from CuSO4 solution) that were further reduced with ascorbic acid. In situ synthesis of Cu-based nanoparticles (detected by FESEM) improves the fabrics’ quality and enables obtaining multifunctional fabrics having 3.4–9.6 times lower resistivities, which are in line with the content of Cu after reduction (determined using ICP-OES), up to 2.5 times higher antioxidant activity and provided maximum microbial reduction for E. Coli, S. aureus, and C. albicans.

Given the environmental burden of textile industry, especially of dyeing processes and the volume of synthetic dyes and surfactants, the intensive development of the greener approaches is under way. Herein, an environmentaly-friendly dyeing of polyamide (PA) and PA/Elastane (PA/EA) knits using live bacterial approach in water environment, completely eliminating usage of textile auxiliaries is described. A total of 12 pigment-producing Streptomyces strains were isolated and purified from soil and rizoshere or bark of smoke tree Cotinus coggygria samples. The antibacterial, antifungal and cytotoxic effects of crude bacterial extracts were tested. Antimicrobial effect was obtained by the majority of extracts but only two streptomycetes extracts, 11–5 and BPS51, showed moderate cytotoxicity against HaCaT human cell line. This was the reason to select 11–5 and BPS51 strains for the dyeing of the textile materials. Excellent properties of dyeing wool, silk and PA are achieved initially using live cultures, and the bioprocess is optimized on commercial PA and PA/EA knits used for stockings production. Satisfactory coloration of both knits is achieved with dynamic conditions (culture shaking at 180 rpm over 5–14 days at 30 ºC) giving the best coloration results, except in the case of the PA sample dyed with a bacterial strain 11–5. The prolongation of dyeing time leads to higher color yields independently of fabric and bacteria strain. Although the color differences between the samples before and after washing are observed, washing fastness after three washing cycles can be considered as satisfactory.

Nylon fibres are commonly used in blends with elastane. One of the problems encountered in the printing of nylon/elastane blend fabrics is the necessity of long steaming times for fixation, which causes an increase in energy consumption. In this study, the possibility of printing polyamide fabrics with 1:2 metal complex dyes for short steaming times was investigated. For this aim, laboratory and sample scale trials were performed to develop a method of chemically modifying fibres so that polyamide fabrics can be printed in short steaming times. Based on the results obtained in both trials, it was noticed that the steaming time for fixation could be reduced from 30 minutes to 15 minutes by printing with 1:2 metal complex dyes without causing a loss of printing yield and without affecting the fastness adversly in case of applying cationisation pretreatment with a modified quaternary polyalkylamine compound based product. © 2021, Institute of Biopolymers and Chemical Fibres. Elastic knitted fabrics find numerous applications in the industry for compression stockings, sports and leisure wear, swimwear, ballet wear, etc. During its use, knitwear is subjected to dynamic loading due to body movements. The loading and unloading of the knitted fabric affect the size of the elastic region in which unrecovered deformation completely disappears. This paper deals with the influence of the elastane percentage in the knitted fabric on the elastic properties of the knitted fabric under dynamic loading. For this experiment, three types of yarn were used in different combinations: polyamide (PA), wrapped elastane yarn and bare elastane. The mentioned yarns were used to knit three different groups of plated weft-knitted fabrics (two yarns in a knitted fabric row): without elastane, knitted fabric with a percentage of wrapped elastane, and knitted fabric with a percentage of bare elastane. The percentage of elastane ranged between 0% and 43%. First, standard uniaxial tensile tests were performed on knitted fabric samples until breakage under static load. The force–elongation diagrams obtained are used to determine the elastic limit up to which Hook’s law applies. All knitted fabrics were cyclically tested to the elastic limit. From the obtained loading and unloading curves, unrecovered deformation (unrecovered elongation), elastic elongation and hysteresis index were determined and calculated. The results showed that the percentage of elastane significantly affects the size of the elastic region of the knitted fabric and has no effect on the hysteresis index. Therefore, it is necessary to optimize the elastane percentage for different knitted fabric designs to achieve the best dynamic recovery of the knitted fabric and to design a more stretchable knitted garment that fits the body as well as possible.

This paper lays out standards of compression stockings and their classification into classes. The analysis of knitted fabric structure parameters, elongation and compression of moderate- and high-compression stockings was conducted. Stocking compression on specific parts of the stocking leg was measured on three sizes of a wooden leg model. For moderate-compression stockings, compression above the ankle was 32 hPa. For high-compression stockings, compression above the ankle was 60 hPa. Both groups of the analyzed compression stockings were made on modern one-cylinder hosiery automats. The legs of the stockings were made in single inlaid jersey 1 + 1. Both yarns were elastane covered. The finer yarn formed loops and its knitting into a course was significantly larger than in the other yarn, which was much coarser and does not form loops but “lay the weft in a bent way”. The smallest elongation of knitted fabric was above the ankle, where the highest compression was achieved, while the largest elongation was under the crotch, where the stocking leg exerted the smallest compression on the surface. The leg of the compression stocking acted as a casing that imposed compression on the leg and often reinforced it to be able to sustain compression loads.

Son zamanlarda elastan içeren kumaşlardan üretilen giysiler, kişilerin kendisini giysi içinde daha rahat ve konforlu hissetmelerinden dolayı çok fazla tercih edilmektedir. Kişinin kendisini giysi içinde daha rahat ve konforlu hissedebilmesini sağlayabilmek için ise esnek kumaşlardan oluşan giysilerin ve dikişlerinin esneyebilmesi oldukça önemlidir. Elastan içeren kumaştan yapılan bir giysi yaklaşık % 10-30 oranları arasında esneyebilmekte ve serbest kaldıktan hemen sonra eski haline gelebilmektedir. Konfeksiyon sanayiinde elastan içeren dokuma kumaşlardan yapılan giysilerde dikiş, kumaşın esnemesine engel olmamalıdır. Bu çalışmada, elastan içeren dokuma kumaşlardan oluşan giysilerin, dikiş özelliklerinin optimizasyonu yapılarak daha esnek dikişler elde edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Böylelikle giysilerin esneklikleri daha da artacak ve esnek dikişler giysinin rahatlığına ve vücuda uyumuna katkıda bulunmasına sebep olacaktır. Esnek kumaşların dikim işlemlerinde kullanılacak dikiş özelliklerinin (dikiş tipi, dikiş sıklığı, dikiş ipliği çeşidi ve dikiş ipliği etiket numarası) en ideal kullanımıyla dikişlerin esneklikleri daha da arttırabilir. Bu amaçla, bu araştırmada farklı oranlarda elastan içeren bayan üst giyimlik üç adet dokuma kumaş numunesi seçilmiştir. Bu kumaşların dikiş özelliklerinin kumaşın esneme ve kalıcı uzama özelliklerine etkisi deneysel bir çalışma olarak incelenmiş ve sonuçları tartışılmıştır. Recently, clothes produced from fabrics containing elastane are preferred a lot because they make the person feel more fit and comfortable in the clothes. In order to make the person feel more comfortable and comfortable in the clothes, it is very important that the clothes made of flexible fabrics and their seams can stretch. A garment made of elastanecontaining fabric can stretch by about 10-30% and recover immediately after release. In the garment industry, stitch type should not prevent the fabric from stretching in garments made of woven fabrics containing elastane. In this study, it is aimed to obtain more flexible stitches by optimizing the sewing properties of the garments made of woven fabrics containing elastane. Thus, the flexibility of the garments will increase further and the flexible seams will contribute to the comfort and fit of the garment. The flexibility of the stitches can be further increased by the ideal use of the sewing characteristics (stitch type, stitch density, sewing thread type and sewing thread label number) to be used in sewing processes of stretch fabrics. For this purpose, three woven fabric samples for women's tops containing different proportions of elastane were selected in this study. The effect of the sewing properties of these fabrics on the stretching and permanent elongation properties of the fabric was investigated as an experimental study and the results were discussed. The degradation of polyamide (PA) and polyester (PES) polymers is under intense study due to growing concerns about the accumulation of plastics in soils and oceans. Previous studies confirm that ageing degrades PA and PES at the molecular level. However, researchers have not addressed the development of protocols for aging textile materials in swimming pools, and few data are available on the effects of aging on comfort and durability. This research addresses the development of the aging protocol for PA and PES swimwear materials, its implementation, and the evaluation of properties that assure comfort and durability after specific periods of exposure. The tests include microscopic analysis, tensile tests, determination of fluid transport phases and drying period. The results revealed changes in the surface of the material in terms of fibrillation (more pronounced after outdoor aging). There is a positive correlation between the exposure duration and the breaking force (R2 ranges from 0.85 to 0.98), with a stronger correlation for the PA materials. The decrease in breaking force due to aging is up to 40%, indicating significantly reduced durability. The change in breaking force follows the changes in mass (R2 = 0.867). In terms of comfort assurance, outdoor aging of materials should have a greater negative impact than indoor ageing.

Tekstil materyallerinin sıvı iletim özelliklerinin belirlenmesine yönelik olarak gözlemler dikkate alınıp yara üzerinde bulunabilecek fazla sıvının kullanıcılarda enfeksiyon riskini arttırabileceğinden yola çıkarak yara bakımında yara çevresinde sağlıklı hijyenik bir ortam oluşturması bu çalışmanın ilk amacını oluşturmaktadır. Yapılan çalışmada, sargı bezi ve bandaj numunelerinin sıvı absorpsiyonlarının geliştirilmesine yönelik olarak farklı reçeteler hazırlanarak emdirme ve çektirme yöntemlerine göre pamuklu kumaşlara uygulanmış ve elde edilen numunelerin su emicilik testleri, batma süresi testleri, çok yönlü sıvı performans testleri ve kuruma hızı testleri gerçekleştirilmiş ve elde edilen sonuçlar istatiksel olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Nem yönetimi test cihazında gerçekleştirilen testlerde numunelerin ayrıca vücut üzerinde kullanımları da dikkate alınarak çift ve dört katlı olarak da test edilmiş ve su buharı/sıvı transfer özellikleri gözlemlenmiştir. Yapılan tüm testlerin bulguları birlikte değerlendirildiğinde sargı bezi ve bandaj için su buharı transfer özelliklerini çektirme yöntemine göre uygulanan sürecin etkili olduğunu söylemek mümkündür. Elde edilen sonuçların konfor açısından reçetelerin geliştirilebilmesinde önemli katkılar sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir. Elde edilen sonuçlar göz önünde bulundurularak yara tedavilerinin performansını ve konforunu etkileyen sıvı transferi özellikleri tespit edilip gelecekteki tasarımlarda ve uygulamalarda, sağlık ve konfor açısından avantajlı olabilecek reçetelerin önerileri yapılabilecektir. The first aim of this study is to create a healthy hygienic environment around the wound in wound care, taking into account the observations for determining the fluid transmission properties of textile materials, and considering that excess fluid may increase the risk of infection in users. In this study, different recipes were prepared to improve the liquid absorption of wound dressings and bandage samples and applied to cotton fabrics according to the impregnation and exhaustion methods, and the water absorbency tests, sinking time tests, versatile liquid performance tests and drying speed tests were performed and the obtained results were evaluated statistically. In the tests carried out in the moisture management test device, the samples were also tested in double and four layers considering their use on the body, and water vapor / liquid transfer properties were observed. When the findings of all the tests performed are evaluated together, it is possible to say that the exhaustion process applied according to the water vapor transfer properties for the wound dressings and bandage samples is effective. It is thought that the results obtained will provide significant contributions to the development of prescriptions in terms of comfort. Considering the results obtained, fluid transfer properties affecting the performance and comfort of wound treatments will be determined, and suggestions of prescriptions that may be advantageous in terms of health and comfort in future designs and applications will be conducted.

Fabric deformation properties considerably depend on its structure. Garment elasticity is an important factor that allows a garment wearer to move freely. Fabric deformation depends on the structure parameters of yarrn and fabric. It has been known that elongation at break of fabric with elastane yarn is higher than of ordinary fabric. The aim of this work was to analyse elongation at break parameters of the and warp and weft yarn in fabrics. Ten commercially produced samples of woven fabrics were used in the experiment. Some samples were with elastan yarn in the warp and weft directions or only in the weft direction. Elongation at break was measured applying a standard method. The results showed that elongation at break of the main elastic component or another component may occur simultaneously when an elastic component or elastane yarn may reach fabric ultimate elongation., Audinių deformacinės savybės didele dalimi priklauso nuo audinių struktūros. Drabužių deformacija yra svarbus veiksnys, užtikrinantis laisvo judėjimo sąlygas dėvėtojams. Audinių deformacijos priklauso nuo siūlų ir audinio struktūros parametrų. Yra žinoma, kad audiniai su elastaniniais verpalais turi didesnę trūkimo ištįsą nei įprasti audiniai. Šio darbo tikslas buvo išanalizuoti audinius sudarančių metmenų ir ataudų siūlų struktūros ištįsos parametrus. Eksperimentui buvo naudojama dešimt komerciškai pagamintų audinių. Kai kuriuose audiniuose elasto pluoštas yra metmenų ir ataudų arba tik ataudų kryptimi. Bandinių ištįsa buvo nustatoma standartiniu metodu. Iš tyrimų rezultatų matyti, kad bandinių ištįsos metu pagrindinis elastingo komponento trūkis gali vykti tuo pačiu metu su kitu sudedamuoju siūlu, kai elastano komponentas, arba elastano siūlai, gali ištįsti iki galutinės audinio ištįsos.

Bu çalışmada atkıda kullanılan elastan oranı ve örgü tipinin elastan atkı bağlantılı çift katlı dokuma kumaşların mekanik ve konfor özelliklerine olan etkisi deneysel olarak araştırılmıştır. Bu amaçla çözgü ipliği ve sıklıklar sabit tutularak 2, 3 ve 8 bağlantı sayısına sahip örgülerde, üç farklı elastan numarasına (20,40,70 denye) sahip puntalı iplik kullanılarak dokuz farklı çift katlı kumaş üretilmiştir. Çift katlı kumaş özelliklerini tek katlı kumaşlarla kıyaslayabilmek için aynı ipliklerle üç adet de bezayağı kumaş dokunmuştur. Numune kumaşlar aynı şartlar altında terbiye edilmiştir. Kumaşlar ham iken gramaj ve kalınlık, mamul halde iken atkı-çözgü sıklığı, gramaj, kalınlık, hava geçirgenliği, nem iletimi, su buharı geçirgenliği, ısı iletimi, kopma mukaveti, uzama, elastikiyet, aşınma, pillingleşme ve esneme testleri yapılmıştır. Sonuçlar SPSS 22 paket programında istatistiksel olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Sonuçlar incelendiğinde, elastan numarası ve bağlantı sayısının artmasının elastan atkı bağlantılı çift katlı dokuma kumaşlar üzerinde istatiksel olarak etkisinin olduğu görülmüştür. Çift katlı kumaş numunelerinde atkı ipliğinde kullanılan elastan oranı arttıkça kumaş gramajı, kalınlık, su buharı geçirgenliği direnci, termal iletkenlik ve termal direnç değerlerinin arttığı belirlenmiştir. Uzama, hava ve su buharı geçirgenliği değerlerinde ise azalma görülmüştür. Çift katlı kumaşlarda kullanılan bağlantı sayısı arttıkça kumaş gramajı, su buharı geçirgenliği değerlerinde artış görülmüştür. In this study, the effects of elastane weft yarn count and knitting type on the physical and comfort properties of elastane weft double-layer woven fabrics for outerwear investigated experimentally. For this purpose, warp yarn and warp density are kept constant. Three different weaving structures with 2, 3, and 8 connections were used. Nine different double-layer woven fabrics were produced using intermingled yarn with three different elastane counts (20,40,70). Three plain fabrics are woven with the same yarns to compare the double layer fabric properties with single-layer fabrics. Sample fabrics were finished under the same conditions. Weight, density, and thickness properties of the dry relaxed raw fabrics were determined. Weft density, warp density, weight, thickness, air permeability, moisture conduction, water vapor permeability, heat conduction, tensile strength, percent elongation, pilling, and abrasion resistance properties of the dry relaxed finished fabrics were determined. The results were evaluated statistically in SPSS 22 package program. When the results are analyzed, it was seen that the increase in the count of elastane and the number of connections has the same effect on the double-woven fabrics. It has been determined that as the elastane used in weft yarn in double layer fabric samples thicken, the weight, thickness, water vapor permeability resistance, thermal conductivity, and thermal resistance values of the fabric will increase. There was a decrease in elongation percentage, air, and water vapor permeability values. As the number of connections used in double-layer fabrics increased, the fabric's weight and water vapor permeability increased. Yeşim Tekstil

Megztinės medžiagos iš poliesterio ir elastano pluoštų plačiai taikomos aprangos pramonėje, ypač laisvalaikio ir sporto aprangos gamyboje. Viena iš svarbiausių eksploatacinių savybių tokiems gaminiams – aprangos komfortiškumas. Gaminio komfortiškumui svarbus laidumas orui ir medžiagų deformacinės savybės, kurios priklauso ne tik nuo medžiagų struktūros, bet ir nuo jų junginių jose. Projekte buvo analizuojamos aštuonios komercinės paskirties megztinės medžiagos su skirtingu poliesterio ir elastano pluoštų santykiu. Laidumo orui ir deformacijos anizotropijos savybės buvo vertinamos medžiagoms be junginių, taip pat bandiniams, sujungtiems grandininių susiuvimo-apsiūlėjimo dygsnių (512) siūliniu junginiu; bandiniams, sujungtiems dengiamųjų grandininių dygsnių (607) siūliniu junginiu; bandiniams, sujungtiems klijuotiniu junginiu. Nustatyta megztinių medžiagų struktūros įtaka jų laidumo orui savybei ir skirtingų junginių tipų įtaka gaminio laidumui orui. Medžiagų akytumas, kaip vienas svarbiausių laidumo orui medžiagose faktorių, buvo įvertintas pagal naują charakteristiką – medžiagų storio pokytį, nustatytą storį matuojant veikiant skirtingiems slėgiams. Išanalizuota megztinių medžiagų struktūros įtaka jų deformacijos anizotropijai bei skirtingų junginių įtaka gaminio deformacinėms savybėms. Tyrimo rezultatai parodė, jog junginiai daro neigiamą įtaką gaminio komfortiškumo savybėms, kurios buvo vertinamos pagal oro laidumo ir deformacijos anizotropijos savybių charakteristikas. Didžiausias šių savybių pokytis nuo medžiagų be junginių komfortiškumo savybių nustatytas klijuotinių junginių atveju, mažiausią įtaką aprangos komfortiškumo savybėms daro grandininių susiuvimo-apsiūlėjimo dygsnių (512) junginiai. Svarbiausi magistro baigiamojo projekto rezultatai pristatyti dviejose tarptautinėse konferencijose (CYSENI 2018 ir ,,The 59th International Scientific Conference of Materials Science and Applied Chemistry’2018”) bei publikuoti moksliniuose straipsniuose tarptautinių konferencijų pranešimų medžiagoje ir užsienio moksliniame žurnale su citavimo indeksu., Knitted fabrics made of polyester and elastan blend are widely used in textile industry, especially for sportswear and leasure wear garments. One of the most important properties of garment’s exploitation is its comfort ability. Comfort properties of textile garments depend tightly on air permeability and deformation properties of the fabrics, which depend not only on the structural parameters of the fabric, but on its assemblies, as well. In this research, eight commercially available knitted fabrics made of different percentage of polyester and elastan were investigated. Air permeability and deformation anisotropy were evaluated for fabrics without assemblies, also for their assemblies sewn with (512) overedge chain stitch seam; (607) covering chain stitch seam; and adhesive bonds. The influence of knitted fabrics structural parameters on air permeability was determined, as well as the influence of different types of sewn and bonded seams. Based on the determined results it was concluded that the thickness difference of the fabric specimens measured at different pressures is related to the fabric porosity which makes significant influence on air permeability. The influence of fabrics’ structural parameters and the influence of different types of assemblies to deformation anisotropy were also determined. The results proved, that any type of investigated assemblies has a negative influence on garments comfort properties. The highest difference was determined for adhesive bonds, while assemblies with (512) overedge chain stitch seam demonstrated the lowest decrease in garments comfort properties. The most important results of Master’s thesis were presented at two international conferences (CYSENI 2018 and “The 59th International Scientific Conference of Materials Science and Applied Chemistry’2018”) and published by international scientific journals with citation index.

Fusibles are used to improve the aesthetic and performance characteristics of wool fabrics. The peel strength of fused composites determines the durability of the pressing operation and they are influenced from the process conditions, the characteristics of fusible interlining and the fabric to whom they are sticked to. In this study, it was aimed to analyze the effect of fusible type and process conditions, weave type and different elastane compositions on peel strength. To this aim, two fusible types combined with eight different types of wool fabrics having different amount of elastane were studied. It was found out that only the fusible type and the process conditions are confirmed statistically that they influence the peel strength values. Nonetheless, it was observed as the elastane composition increased, the peel strength values tend to increase for twill type of fabrics and tend to decrease for plain type of fabrics. Moreover, the influence of composition may be in different direction when different type of Fusibles is used to form fusible composites. In conclusion, it can be stated that the dominant mechanism in determination of the peel strength is the selection of fusible type and suitable process conditions for this fusible type and more investigations are necessary if the composition of the material is also influential on the peel strength because of its compatibility with the fusible interlining.

It was aimed to investigate the influence of washing cycle and fabric type on stretching (%), unrecovered elongation (%) and elastic recovery properties of plain knitted fabrics made of different ground yarn types having the same elastane ratio (%). For the plain knitted fabrics; Elastane ratio was kept constant as 5% for all fabric types whereas the ground yarns were selected as 70% polyester 30% cotton vortex yarn, 70% polyester 30%viscon ring yarn, 70% polyester 30%cotton ring yarn, 100%viscon vortex and 100% cotton ring spun yarns respectively. Knitted samples were objected to repeated laundering and flat dried after each washing cycle. Fabric weight (g/m2 ) after the washing cycles of 1, 5 and 10 were premeasured. Fryma fabric extensometer device was used for determining the stretching ratios (%), unrecovered elongation (%) and elastic recovery (%) of the samples both in wale and course way. Two-Way ANOVA was performed in order to investigate the influence of washing cycle and fabric type on stretching (%) and unrecovered elongation (%) properties of the elastane knitted fabrics. Bu çalışmada aynı elastan oranına sahip ancak farklı zemin ipliklerden üretilen düz örme kumaşların esneme (%), geri toparlanamama (%) ve elastik toparlanma özelliklerine yıkama tekrar sayısı ve kumaş tipinin etkisi incelenmeye çalışılmıştır. Düz örme kumaşlar için elastan oranları tüm kumaşlar için sabit tutulurken (%5) zemin iplikleri sırasıyla; %70 poliester %30 pamuk vorteks iplik, %70 poliester %30 viskon ring iplik, %70 poliester %30 pamuk ring iplik, %100 viskon vorteks iplik, %100 pamuk ring iplik olarak seçilmiştir. Numuneler tekrarlı yıkama işlemine tabi tutulmuş olup her yıkama devri sonrasında sererek kurutma yapılmıştır. 1, 5 ve 10 devir yıkama sonrası kumaş gramajları belirlenmiştir. Numunelerin çubuk ve sıra yönlü esneme yüzdesi (%), geri toparlanamama yüzdesi (%) ve elastik toparlanma yüzdesi (%) ölçümleri için Fyrma kumaş ekstensiyometresi kullanılmıştır. Kumaş tipi ve yıkama devir sayısı faktörlerinin elastan örme kumaşların esneme ve geri toparlanamama özelliklerine etkisini incelemek amacıyla iki faktörlü ANOVA testi uygulanmıştır.

Bu çalışmada, %65 poliester %35 viskon karışımlı rijit kumaşın ve %64 poliester %34 viskon %2 elastan karışımlı atkı streç kumaşın, performans özellikleri üzerinde kade (dekatürleme) işleminin etkisi araştırılmıştır. Bu amaçla, aynı dokuma parametrelerine sahip rijit kumaş ve 3 (üç) farklı elastan numarasına sahip streç kumaşlar üretilmiş ve aynı şartlarda terbiye işlemleri uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen kumaşlara, kade işleminin kumaş performansı üzerindeki etkisini incelemek üzere, kalite kontrol testleri uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen değerler üzerinde istatistiksel analizler yapılmış ve sonuçlar yorumlanmıştır. Sonuçta kade işleminin, seçilen kumaşların tuşe-tutum, görünüm, kullanım dayanımları, performans özellikleri üzerinde etkili olduğu görülmüştür. In this study, the effects of decatising on the perfromance properties used as rigid fabric made from 65%polyester-35%viscose and warp stretch fabric made from 64%polyester-34%viscose-2%elastan were investigated. For this purpose, rigid fabric has woven with some parameters and stretch fabric has three different elastane numbers produced and finishing processes were applied with same conditions. Afterwards, decatising process determining the effects of these fabric performace to obtained fabrics analysis were carried out. The data of the analysis were evaluated and results were interpreted. As a result, it has been found that decatising process has an effect on the touch-attitude, appearance, usability, performance characteristics characteristics of the obtained fabrics.

It was aimed to investigate the influence of washing cycle and fabric type on stretching (%), unrecovered elongation (%) and elastic recovery properties of plain knitted fabrics made of different ground yarn types having the same elastane ratio (%). For the plain knitted fabrics; Elastane ratio was kept constant as 5% for all fabric types whereas the ground yarns were selected as 70% polyester 30% cotton vortex yarn, 70% polyester 30%viscon ring yarn, 70% polyester 30%cotton ring yarn, 100%viscon vortex and 100% cotton ring spun yarns respectively. Knitted samples were objected to repeated laundering and flat dried after each washing cycle. Fabric weight (g/m2) after the washing cycles of 1, 5 and 10 were premeasured. Fryma fabric extensometer device was used for determining the stretching ratios (%), unrecovered elongation (%) and elastic recovery (%) of the samples both in wale and course way. Two-Way ANOVA was performed in order to investigate the influence of washing cycle and fabric type on stretching (%) and unrecovered elongation (%) properties of the elastane knitted fabrics.

Bu çalışmada; denim ve spor giysilik kumaşlarda PBT içeren ve PBT içerme-yen,3/1 Z dimi örgüsünde sabit olarak, farklı yapısal parametrelerde ( farklı tarak numarası, tarak eni, çözgü/atkı ipliği numarası, çözgü /atkı sıklığı) ve farklı terbiye prosesleri uygula-narak üretilmiş kumaşların, elastikiyet, kalıcı uzama, mukavemet, gramaj, çözgü/atkı çek-meleri gibi fiziksel performansının nasıl etkilendiği araştırılmıştır. Tez çalışmasının asıl gayesi, endüstriyel koşullarda ticari olarak üretilmekte olan denim ve spor giysilik kumaş-larda PBT’nin kumaş performansına etkisinin tespit edilmesi ve karşılaştırılmasıdır. Kuma-şın çözgüsünde veya atkısında PBT kullanılarak, elastikiyet ve kumaşın geri toplanması özellikleri bakımından kumaş performansının iyileştirilmesi hedeflenmiştir. Temelde aynı niteliklere ve aynı proses şartlarına sahip kumaş grupları karşılaştırılarak PBT’nin iyileş-tirme veya değişim seviyesi araştırılmıştır. Mamul kumaşların performanslarını tespit et-mek için ISO 6330, ASTM D 3107, ASTM D 1424, ASTM D 5034, ASTM D 3774, ASTM D 3776 standartları kapsamında sonuçların değerlendirilmesi yapılmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında ring iplik makinesinde, merkezde elastikiyet özelliği olan modifiye polyester PBT ve elastan, dış katmanında ise pamuk elyafından oluşan üç bileşenli iplik üretilmiştir. Çeşitli lineer yoğunlukta üretilen PBT karışımlı ipliklerin farklı konstrüksiyonlarda denen-mesiyle nihai kumaştaki fiziksel özellikleri analiz edilmiştir. Yapılan incelemeler ve istatik-sel verilere göre Pamuk/PBT/Elastan karışımlı ipliğin, pamuk/elastan içerikli ipliğe göre kumaşta kalıcı uzama değerine olumlu etki ettiği tespit edilmiştir. Tüm bu çalışmalar sonu-cunda, sadece elastan özlü ipliğe kıyasla PBT (polibütilen teraftalat) ve elastan filamentle-rini birlikte özünde içeren ipliklerin, kumaşa kullanım performansı açısından olumlu etkisi olduğu görülmüştür. In this study; in PBT containing and non-containing denim and sportswear fabric constructions, as 3/1 Z twill weave being constant, with different structural parame-ters(comb number, comb width, warp/weft yarn count, warp/weft density), the fabrics produced by applying various finishing processes, it was investigated how affected the physical performance as elasticity, growth, strength, weight, warp/weft shrinkage. The main aim of the thesis study is to determine and compare the effect of PBT on fabric performan-ce in denim and sportswear fabrics which are produced commercially in industrial conditi-ons.It is aimed to improve fabric performance in terms of elasticity and growth (fabric recovery) properties by using PBT in the warp or weft of the fabric. The level of improve-ment or change of PBT was investigated by comparing essentially groups of fabrics with the same qualities and the same process conditions. The results were evaluated within the scope of ISO 6330, ASTM D 3107, ASTM D 1424, ASTM D 5034, ASTM D 3774, ASTM D 3776 Standards to analyze the performance finished fabric. In the content of study, three component yarn made of modified polyester PBT and elastane with elasticity characteristic in the center and cotton fibers in the outer twisted layer were produced in the ring spinning machine.The physical properties of the final fabric were analyzed by testing PBT blended yarns produced in varied lineer densities on different constructions.It was determined that Cotton/PBT/EA mixed yarn positively affected the growth value of the fabric with reference to Cotton/EA content yarns according to research and statistical data. As a result of all these studies, it was seen that yarns containing con-junction PBT (polybutylene terephthalate) and elastane filaments in the core had a positive effect on fabric performance in comparision with only core spun yarn.

Buçalışmada, iplik üretim endüstrisinde kullanım şartlarını dikkate alaraküretilen elastan özlü pamuk ipliği örneklerinin objektif yöntemlerledeğerlendirilmesi ve kalite özelliklerinin incelenerek bu ipliklerininperformanslarının ortaya konulması amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında kontrollüüretim şartlarında kompakt eğirme makinasının modifiye edilmesiyle dört farklıiplik numarasında ve iki farklı büküm katsayısında toplam sekiz adet elastanözlü pamuk ipliği üretilmiştir. Üretilmiş olan ipliklerin kopma mukavemeti,kopma uzaması, düzgünsüzlük ve tüylülük özellikleri ölçülerek elastan özlüpamuk ipliklerine ait kalite değerleri belirlenmiş, sonuçlar ipliklerin lineeryoğunluğu ve büküm seviyesi değişimine göre değerlendirilmiştir., In this study, it is aimed to evaluate elastane corecotton yarn samples, which are produced considering the usage conditions inyarn production industry, by objective methods and it is also aimed to revealperformance of these yarns by examining the quality properties. Totally eightelastane core cotton yarns, which had four different yarn counts and twodifferent twist coefficients, were systematically produced by modifying the compactspinning machine within the scope of the study. The quality properties of theelastane core cotton yarns are determined by measuring breaking strength,elongation, unevenness and hairiness of the yarns produced, and the results areevaluated according to changing of linear density and twist level of the yarns.

In this study, thermal properties of the socks made from the blend of reclaimed cotton fibre and virgin polyester fibre are investigated in comparison with those of similar socks made from virgin cotton fibre, together with the influence of incorporated elastane. Statistical results reveal that elastane addition and fibre type significantly affect all of the thermal properties of the socks. Elastane addition leads to increase in the thermal conductivity, thermal resistance and thermal absorptivity values and decrease in the water vapour permeability values. The reclaimed fibre socks exhibit lower thermal conductivity and thermal absorptivity and higher thermal resistance than the cotton socks. The water vapour permeability results of the reclaimed fibre socks with no elastane are higher than those of the cotton socks with no elastane. The difference between the water vapour permeability of the reclaimed socks with elastane and the cotton socks with elastane is found to be statistically insignificant. © 2015 The Textile Institute.

In this study, the physical and mechanical properties of quat-silane treated cotton and cotton/elastane fabrics in comparison with untreated control samples were investigated. Results showed that a small significant decrease was observed for tensile strength (strip and grab methods), tear strength and seam strength. A small significant decrease was observed with the increase in quat-silane concentration for all samples. Panama weaves showed the lowest tensile strength and the highest tear strength and a small significant decrease was observed for all treated samples. WOS: 000376407100010, Owing to growing demand for comfortable clothes, elastane filament yarns are being used in fabrics for several garments. In this study, core spun yarns were produced with cotton fibres and PBT/elastane filament yarns (cotton as sheath material, PBT yarn and elastane as core yarns). Twill woven (1/3 Z) fabrics were produced by using core spun yarns (30 tex) and cotton yarns (30 tex) as weft, and 100% cotton yarn (59 tex) as warp yarns. The fabrics consisting of PBT were washed at 100 degrees C for 30 minutes to gain the elasticity. The woven fabrics' weight, thickness, elongation, permanent elongation, dimensional stability, air permeability, thermal conductivity, thermal absorptivity characteristics were tested and statistically evaluated. According to the results, the fabrics containing PBT and elastane filaments had similar elongation and shrinkage values. Projektirane su i izrađene muške kratke čarape, bez uzorka, na čaraparskom automatu promjera cilindra 95 mm, (3¾e inča) koji je pleo sa 108 igala. Izrađivane su četiri obuvne veličine i to vel. 10, 11, 12 i 13 namijenjene proljetno-jesenskom periodu. Čarape su izrađivane u temeljnom platirnom desno-lijevom prepletu s pamučnom pređom finoće 50 tex i filamentnom pređom finoće 168 dtex, izrađenom od PA 6 nedovoljno poznatih karakteristika. U okrajak čarape upletena je elastanska nit („gumica“) finoće 54 tex. Prije i nakon procesa pletenja te nakon deset pranja na temp. 95 0C mjerene su osnovne značajke pređa. Također je mjerena masa čarape i parametri pletiva u čarapi te četiri najznačajnije dimenzije čarapa prije i nakon pranja. Mjerena je visina tijela čarape, duljina stopala čarape te polovica opsega tijela i polovica opsega stopala čarape. Rastezna svojstva pređa bitno se razlikuju prije pletenja i nakon desetorostrukog procesa pranja. Prekidna sila pamučne pređe veća je nakon deset pranja i do 27,47 %. Prekidna sila i istezljivost PA filamentne pređe manja je i do 59,54 % nakon deset pranja. Čarape se skupljaju uzduž i popriječno nakon deset pranja 11 do 19,14 % te nakon procesa pranja nemaju istu obuvnu veličinu. Zbog termičke nestabilnosit filamentne niti izrađene od PA 6 preporuča se nakon upotrebe čarape prati na hladno., Men's plain socks were designed and manufactured on an automatic hosiery machine with a cylinder diamter of 95 mm (3¾e inch) which knitted with 108 needles. Four sizes of 10, 11, 12 and 13 were made for spring and autumn season. The socks were manufactured in plated plain jersey from a 50 tex cotton yarn and a 168 dtex PA 6 filament yarn whose characteristics were insufficiently known. The cuff contianed an interlaced elastane yarn with a count of 54 tex. Principal yarn properties were measured before and after knitting and after 10 washing cycles at a temperature of 95 °C. Sock weight and knit fabric parameters in the sock as well as four most imprtant sock dimensios before and after washing were measured. The height of the sock leg, the length of the sock foot and half of the leg circumference and half of the foot circumference were measured. Stretching properties of the yarn were essentialy different before knitting and after 10 washing cycles. Cotton yarn breaking force was higher after 10 washing cycles up to 27.47%. PA filament breaking force and stretching was lower up to 59.54% after 10 washing cycles. The socks shrank longitudinally and transversally after 10 washing cycles from 11 to 19.14% and they did not have the same size after the washing procedure. Due to thermal instability of the PA 6 filament thread it is recommendable to use cold washing.

Bu çalışmada; farklı oranlarda elsatan ve PBT(polibütilen teraftalat) içeren Pamuk/Tencell karışımlı ipliklerin performans özellikleri incelenmiştir. Birçok alanda yoğun olarak kullanılan, farklı oranlarda elastan ve PBT içeren Ne 16/1 özlü iplikler üretilmiştir. PBT’nin ipliğin fiziksel özelliklerine etkisinin tespit edilmesi ve karşılaştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında ring iplik makinesinde; öz kısmında yeni nesil polyester türevi olan PBT ve elastan, manto(kabuk) tabakasında ise pamuk/tencell karışımlı, farklı öz/manto oranlarına sahip olacak şekilde 15 tipte özlü iplik üretilmiştir. Üretilen özlü ipliklerin fiziksel özelliklerini belirlemek amacıyla iplik numarası, düzgünsüzlük, mukavemet ve kopma uzaması testleri yapılmıştır. Sonuçların istatistiksel yöntemlerle analizi yapılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Yapılan deneyler ve istatistiksel değerlendirmelere göre; iplikteki öz/manto oranının değişiminin mukavemet, kopma uzaması ve düzgünsüzlük gibi özellikleri etkilediği tespit edilmiştir. Tüm bu çalışmalar sonucunda elde edilen veriler incelendiğinde, PBT(polibütilenteraftalat)’nin iplik numuneleri üzerinde kullanım performansı açısından etkili olduğu görülmüştür. İplik üzerinde yapılan çalışmada elde edilen değerler ve üretim sırasında karşılaşılan sorunlar neticesinde, mevcut bilgilere ilave olarak, bazı farklı yöntemlerim uygulanması gerekliliği tespit edilmiştir. In this study, different proportions elsatan and PBT (polybutylene terephthalate) including Cotton and Tencell performance characteristics of blended yarns were investigated. Widely used in many areas, elastane and PBT containing at different rates, Ne 16 number core yarns were produced. And to determine the effect is to compare the physical properties of PBT fibers. Working at the ring spinning machine; self-derivative part of the new generation of PBT polyester and elastane, the mantle (shell) layer of the cotton / blended tencell different core / sheath ratios to have a core yarn produced 15 types. In order to determine the physical properties of the produced core yarn yarn count, uniformity, strength and elongation tests were conducted. Results were evaluated by analysis of statistical methods. According to the experiments, and statistical considerations; yarn core / mantle change in the ratio of tensile strength, elongation at break and the irregularity has been found to affect such properties. As a result of examining the data from all these studies, PBT (polibütilenteraftalat) on the yarn samples were found to be effective in terms of handling performance. The obtained values of the yarn and a result of problems encountered during manufacture, in addition to the information available, the need for the implementation of some of the different ways have been identified.

Konfeksiyon ürünlerinde sağladığı rahatlık ve fonksiyonellik nedeniyle elastan lifleri tekstil sektöründe yaygın şekilde tercih edilmektedir. Bu çalışma kapsamında termofiksaj işlemi öncesi yapılması gereken yağ uzaklaştırma işleminde kullanılan yağ sökücülerin, elastan pamuklu kumaşın beyazlık derecesi, renk koyuluğu ve yüzey görünümlerine etkisi ile yağ söküm ve kaynar yıkama banyolarının absorbans değerleri incelenmiştir. Deney sonuçlarına göre bazik ortamda yapılan işlemin daha etkin olduğu belirlenmiştir., Elastane fibres have been used widely in textile sector due to providing/posses of comfort and functionality on textile materials. In this study; the effect of oil removals agents, which used in oil removal process before thermofixing, on whiteness degree, colour strength values and surface roughness of lycra blended cotton fabric were investigated and absorbance degrees of oil removal and rinsing bath were measured. The results of the analysis showed that, the oil removal process in alkaline medium was determined to be more effective than acidic condition.

Autumn/winter socks for adults in size 12.5 in three jacquard patterns related to IFKT were designed and made. A pattern of IFKT is located in the front part of the sock body. A pattern of F shape is located in the back part of the sock body, and a pattern of 46 is located on the bottom part of the sock foot. Socks were knitted on an automatic hosiery machine with a cylinder diameter of 95 mm (3 ¾") in which 108 needles work. A single cotton yarn with a count of 30 tex, a polyamide filament yarn with a count of 162 dtex f 24 and an elastane yarn with a count of 540 dtex of the following raw composition: 75% cotton, 22% PA and 3% elastane. For the Croatian conditions the lowest production costs of these socks are 0.68 € per pair and the sales price is 1.06 € per pair.

Elastanlı örme kumaşların sağladığı rahatlık, vücuda uyum ve esneklik; tekstil ve modanın vazgeçilmez unsurlarındandır.Bu çalışmada öncelikle örmeyle ilgili tarihsel bilgilere ve örme makineleri kronolojisine yer verilmiştir. Temel örmecilik bilgileri anlatılırken örme makine çeşitleri ve bu makinelerde ilmek oluşumuna değinilmiştir.Günümüzde bir giyside en yüksek maliyet unsurunu genellikle kumaş oluşturur. Örme kumaş hatalarının ve hata oluşumunu önleme yöntemlerinin takip edilmesi önemlidir. Örme kumaş üretim hataları ve önleme yöntemleri, temel örme kumaş çeşitlerinin genel özellikleri ve kullanım alanları görsellerle beraber çalışmaya ilave edilmiştir.Elastan tarihçesi ve çorabın tarihsel gelişimi, dünyada yaşanan sosyal ve kültürel olayların etkisi ile birlikte anlatılmıştır. In recent years, the changes in consumer demand and the textiles products used in industrail area reveal the requirement of new product. This requirements increased the studies about production of different types of yarns produced with new tecniques by use of different kinds of fibers. As a result, it has been produced yarns with different structure and properties. Nowadays, added value of conventional yarns have been decreased gradually, consequently fancy yarns produced with different properties and appearances have been replaced the conventional yarns. One of the fancy yarns is core-spun yarns. Core yarn is the yarn type that has the filament in the core and staples in the sheath, which is used to achieve the multi-functional performance. In this study, a conventional ring spinning machine is modified in order to produce core spun yarns. Servo motor controlled elastan feeding mechanism is used in this system. The motors used can be controlled by motor driver with the help of a computer. Intended type of yarns can be produced automatically when the parameters are inserted to control computer conducted which has Turkish software because of easiness to use. The basic aim of the design is to develop the current exported systems and produce a domestic system. And than, by changing different production parameters of machine, core-spun yarns with elastane is produced. The effect of production parameters on yarn quality has been investigated by appliying different quality control tests. The results derived from tests has been statistically analyzed with the aid of Design-Expert statistics packet program. Son yıllarda gerek tüketici taleplerinin gerekse endüstriyel alanda kullanılan tekstil ürünlerin değişmesi tekstil endüstrisinde de yeni ürünlerin elde edilebilmesi ihtiyacını ortaya çıkartmıştır. Bu ihtiyaç, değişik yapı ve özelliklerde lifler kullanılarak değişik tekniklerle farklı yapılarda ipliklerin üretilmesine yönelik çalışmaları arttırmış ve sonuçta çok değişik yapı ve özellikte iplikler üretilmeye başlanmıştır. Günümüzde katma değer noktasında klasik-konvansiyonel ipliklerde düşüş görülmekte ve bu tür ipliklerin yerini farklı görüntü ve özellikte üretilen iplikler almaktadır. Bu iplik türlerinden birisi de özlü iplik yapılarıdır. Özlü iplik, merkezde bulunan bir öz/çekirdek üzerine sarılan kesikli liflerden oluşan iplik yapısıdır. Özlü iplik, bu iki farklı özellikteki bileşenin özelliklerinden aynı anda optimum ölçüde yararlanabilmek için geliştirilmiş iplik yapısı olarak da bilinmektedir. Bu çalışmada, klasik düz iplik üretimi yapan bir ring iplik eğirme makinesi, özlü iplik üretmek üzere modifiye edilmiştir. Makine üzerinde tamamen servo motor kontrollü bir elastan besleme sistemi kullanılmıştır. Kullanılan motorlar, motor sürücü tarafından bilgisayar aracılığı ile kontrol edilmektedir. Kullanım kolaylığı bakımından Türkçe olarak yapılan bir yazılım ile, kontrol bilgisayarı ekranından belirli parametreler girildiğinde, istenilen özellikte iplikler tam otomatik olarak üretilebilmektedir. Yapılan tasarımdaki temel amaç, var olan ithal sistemlerin yerini alabilecek yerli bir sistemi geliştirerek tekstil sektörüne kazandırmaktır. Daha sonra makine üzerinde, çeşitli üretim parametreleri değiştirilerek, farklı özelliklerde elastan özlü kor iplikler üretilmiştir. Bu ipliklere çeşitli kalite testleri uygulanarak, üretim değişkenlerinin iplik kalitesi üzerine etkileri araştırılmıştır. This paper presents an experimental study of the seam performance of PET/nylon-elastane woven fabrics. In this study, plain and twill fabrics were woven with three different weft densities. Two different sewing threads were used during the sewing of the fabrics. Therefore, 12 samples having different specifications were obtained. For these fabrics, nylon-elastane air-covered yarn was used as the weft yarn and PET air-covered yarn was used as the warp yarn. Seam strength, seam slippage strength, sewing needle penetration force and seam efficiency were determined for these fabrics for seam performance. The purpose of this study was to identify the suitable sewing conditions in order to achieve good seam performance. This study also investigated the effects of weft density, weave type and sewing thread on the seam performance.

Bu çalışmada, elastan iplik kullanımının kumaş patlama mukavemetine, kopma mukavemetine ve uzama özelliklerine etkisi incelenmiştir. Bunun için diğer tüm özellikleri aynı, sadece elastan oranı farklı olacak şekilde kontrollü koşullarda üretilmiş poliamid kumaşlar ve piyasada bulunan ticari kumaşlar arasından seçilen kumaş örnekleri kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular varyans ve korelasyon analizleri yapılarak değerlendirilmiş ve kumaş kopma mukavemeti ile patlama mukavemeti testleri sonuçları arasında istatiksel açıdan önemli korelasyon katsayıları belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca çalışmada uzama testi sonuçları ile patlama ve kopma testleri sonuçları arasındaki ilişkiyi gösteren korelasyon katsayıları da tespit edilmiştir. In this study, effects of elastane yarn on bursting strength, tensile strength and stretch properties of fabrics were investigated. Poliamid fabrics have been woven under controlled conditions so that only the percentages of elastane yarns within the fabrics differ. The manufactured fabrics have been compared with the trade fabrics which were chosen from among the available ones in the market. The obtained findings were evaluated by analiyses of correlation and variance. Statistically significant correlation coefficients between tensile strength and bursting strength of fabric test results were found. Furthermore in the study, correlation coefficients which have indicated to relationships between stretch test results and bursting and tensile test results were also determined. 96

One of these changes is the adding studies of second, third and even sometimes fourth material into the structure of yam. These studies can differ depending on the type and structure of yam and fabric manufacturing system. For example, in yam manufacturing it can be spinning affected, twist affected, winding affected, etc. These studies which are made in order to create difference in textile yams and fabrics are also providing difference in the structure and properties of the new product. For this reason, in this new situation, structure and properties of this kind of products must be known. In this study, it is tried to examine the changes in properties (abrasion, strength, extension and elongation) of classical fabric structure by adding yams containing elastane into the fabric.

This paper presents the effects of elastane yarn type and fabric density on the seam performance of PET/ elastane woven fabrics. In this study, 12 different weft stretched fabrics were woven with 2 different weft yarns, 2 different weave types and 3 different weft densities. The weft and warp yarns of the weft stretched fabrics were polyester-elastane covered yarn and polyester yarn, respectively. Air-covered and twisted elastane weft yarns were used at twill and plain fabrics. Needle penetration forces were determined on an L&M Sewability tester for seam performance. Besides this, "needle damage index" was calculated for seam damage. The values of the needle penetration forces were between 64 cN and 370 cN and the needle damage index values were between 18% and 73%. Elastane yarn type and fabric density had significant effects on the needle penetration force. Photographs were taken with an optical microscope to show the seam damage during sewing.

Günümüzde elastan (lycra®) içeren dokuma kumaşlardan yapılan giysilere talep oldukça fazladır. Elastanlı kumaşın rahatlığı, vücuda uyumu, esnekliği onu aranan ürün haline getirmiştir. Bu araştırmada; tekstil endüstrisinin son yıllarda en önemli konularından biri olan, konfeksiyon sanayiinde elastan (lycra®) içeren dokuma kumaşların dikiş problemleri incelenmeye çalışılmıştır. Elastan (lycra®) içeren dokuma kumaşın, dikiş problemlerini inceleyebilmek için elastanlı kumaşın oluşum aşamalarını çok iyi takip etmek ve kumaşın özelliklerini ortaya çıkarmak gerekir. Bu amaçla, bu araştırmada, elastan oranları % 3-4 arasında değişen, farklı özelliklerde elastanlı dokuma kumaş numuneleri dokutulmuştur. Bu kumaş numunelerinde; elastan çekim oranının, ön fikse sıcaklığının, silikonlu aprenin, kumaş sıklığının, örgü tipinin, elastanlı iplik tipinin ve elastanlı iplik üzerindeki punta sayısının dikiş performansı ve dikiş problemleri üzerindeki etkisi incelenmiştir. Dikiş performansının belirlenmesinde etkili olan değerler, kopma mukavemeti ve uzaması, kalıcı uzama ve kumaş elastikliği (growth), yırtılma mukavemeti, dikiş mukavemeti, dikiş yeterliliği ve iğne dalış kuvvetidir. Dikiş problemleri olarak, dikiş kayması, dikiş sırıtması ve dikiş hasarları incelenmiştir. Elastanlı dokuma kumaşlarda en fazla dikiş probleminin dikiş hasarlarından ortaya çıktığı görülmüştür. Elastanlı kumaşların kopma dayanımları düşük hasara karşı eğilimleri yüksektir. Elastan içeren dokuma kumaşların dikiş problemleri ve dikilebilirlik değerleri objektif olarak ortaya çıkarılmış, kumaş özellikleri ile dikilebilirlik göstergeleri arasında lineer korelasyonlar elde edilmiştir. In todays world, there is significant demand to elastic woven stretch fabrics. Garments made from elastic woven stretch fabrics allow easy body movements, fit well, keep their shape and they are comfortable to wear. Elastane has now become a standard fiber in all areas of clothing. In clothing industry, the sewing problems of elastic woven fabrics are very important. In order to be able to observe the sewing problems of elastic fabrics, the production step of fabrics should be followed carefully and fabrics specifications needs to be determined precisely. In this study, 3 fabric types were woven with different specifications for the experiments. Elastane ratio was taken % 3-4 in those fabrics. This study presents an experimental study about the effects of elastane draw ratio, pre- fixation temperature, silicone, fabric structure and elastane yarn structure to the sewing performance and sewing problems. Breaking strength, breaking strain, residual extension, tear strength, seam strength, seam openning strength, seam efficiency and needle penetration forces were important factors for sewing performance. There are two basic problems in the seam operation of the elastic fabrics. One of them is unsufficient elasticity of the seams and the other is elastane damage. In woven stretch fabrics the major sewing problems occur due to the sewing damage. Those fabrics have low breaking strength and tendency to sewing damage. This paper presents the effects of silicone and pre-fixation temperature on the elastic properties of cotton/elastane woven fabrics, with nylon/elastane air-covered yarn used as weft yarn and cotton yarn used as warp yarn. Three fabric types with three different elastane weft yarn draw ratios were used as experimental samples. The pre-fixation process was applied to all three fabrics at two different temperatures. After finishing, half of the samples were treated with silicone and the other half were only washed. Fabric stretch and fabric growth after a specified extension was determined as elastic properties for weft stretch woven fabrics. The fabric stretch values were between 14-18% and fabric growth or recovery after a specified extension after 30 min were between 0.7-0.9%.

As the properties gained are tested and confirmed by well known methods such as Du Pont, Marks&Spencer though the product will be more preferred because of the properties of the fabric. Bu çalışmada, genel anlamda elastan elyaf üretimi, elastanlı iplik üretimi, elastanlı kumaş üretimi, elastan içeren kumaşların terbiye işlemleri hakkında bilgiler verilmiş ve elastanlı kumaşların renk haslıkları ayrıntılı olarak anlatılmıştır. Renk haslıklarının testi için naylon, polyester ve elastan iplikler çeşitli oranlarda örülmüştür. Örülen kumaşlar laboratuar ortamında boyanmıştır. Boyanan kumaşlara naylon için değişik fiksatörler farklı oranlarda, polyester için değişik redüktif yıkama maddeleri farklı oranlarda kullanılarak yıkama işlemleri yapılmıştır. Yıkama işlemlerinden sonra kumaşlar üzerine yıkama, klorlu su, deniz suyu, su, ter ve sürtünme haslığı testleri uygulanmıştır. Uygulanan testlerin sonucunda elde edilen bulgulardan seçilmiş olanlar aşağıda verilmiştir: Genel olarak tüm kumaşlarda içerisinde elastan olmayan kumaşların haslıkları daha iyi çıkmıştır. Haslık testleri sonucunda en iyi haslık değerleri su haslığında alınırken, en kötü haslık değerleri yıkama ve klorlu su haslığı testlerinden alınmıştır. Naylon elyafı içeren kumaşların haslıkları polyester elyafı içeren kumaşların haslıklarından daha iyi çıkmıştır. Kumaş içerisindeki elastan miktarının artması haslık değerlerini düşürmüştür. Polyester/elastan karışımlı kumaşların boyanmasında carrier kullanımının haslıkları düşürdüğü tespit edilmiştir. Naylon elyafı içeren kumaşların boyamadan sonra yıkamalarında hem anyonik hem de katyonik fiksatör kullanıldığında haslıkların düştüğü tespit edilmiştir. Polyester elyafı içeren kumaşların boyamadan sonra redüktif yıkamalarında hidrosülfit yerine stabilize hidrosülfit kullanıldığında haslıkları yükselttiği tespit edilmiştir. Bu çalışma farklı elastan oranlarının kullanıldığı değişik kumaş numuneleri için de yapılabilir. Yarn and fabric production and finishing for elastane have quite different features from one another and the sector faces innovations constantly. In this study, some knowledge about elastane fibre production, the production of yarn including elastane, the finishing of the elastane fabrics is given, and the colourfastness for elastane fabrics is stated in detail. For testing colourfastness, nylon, polyester and elastane yams were knitted in different proportions. Knitted fabrics were dyed in laboratory conditions. After that, washing processes were carried out for nylon by using various fixators in different proportions, and for polyester by using various reductive washing materials in different proportions. After washing processes, washing, chlorinated water, seawater, water, sweat and friction fastness tests were carried out on fabrics. Some selected findings obtained from these tests are presented below. Generally, all fabrics including no elastane have a better fastness than fabrics with elastane. As a result of fastness tests, the highest fastness values were determined on water fastness tests, and the lowest fastness values were determined on washing and chlorinated water tests. The fastness of the fabrics with nylon fibres was higher than those with polyester ones. An increase in the elastane amount of fabrics led to a decrease in colourfastness. It was determined that using carrier on dyeing the fabrics with the mixture of polyester and elastane caused a decrease in colourfastness. It was also determined that colourfastness were decreased when anionic and cationic fixators were both used on washing the fabrics with nylon fibres after dyeing process. Moreover, it was found out that the fastness became higher when stabilized hydrosulphite was used instead of normal hydrosulphite on reductive washings after dyeing of the fabrics with polyester fibres. Bu çalışmada, insanların daha rahat ve daha fonksiyonel tekstil ürünlerine duydukları yüksek talebi karşılamak için ortaya çıkan spandex içerikli kor ipliklerin (elastik kor iplikler) tüylülük özellikleri incelenmiştir. Çalışmada öncelikle iplik tüylülüğü, tüylülük üzerinde etkili olan faktörler ve tüylülük ölçüm yöntemleri hakkında bilgi verilmiş ardından elastomerik lif ve spandex (elastan) kavramlarına açıklık getirilerek modifiye edilmiş ring iplik eğirme makinalarında spandex içerikli kor iplik üretim sistemi açıklanmıştır. Çalışmanın deneysel kısmında ise, elastik kor iplik yapısındaki elastan varlığının, bu ipliklere uygulanan bobinleme ve fiksaj (doymuş buharla düşük sıcaklıkta vakumlu ortamda yapılan) işlemlerinin tüylülük özelliğine etkileri araştırılmıştır. Sonuç olarak, ipliklerin yapısındaki elastan varlığının iplik yüzeyinden çıkan 3 mm ve daha uzun lif sayısında (S3) azalmaya yol açtığı, bobinleme işleminin tüylülüğü artırdığı ve bobin formundaki elastik kor ipliklere uygulanan vakumlu ortamda doymuş buharla fiksaj işleminin tüylülüğü azalttığı tespit edilmiştir. Prof. Dr. Özer GÖKTEPE Hairiness is one of the important yarn characteristics which affects weaving, knitting, preparation, dyeing and finishing processes in textiles. As a result of increasing consumer expectations from textile products for the past few years, yarn hairiness has become an important quality parameter. In this study, the hairiness of core-spun yarns containing spandex that aim to meet consumer demands for more comfortable, convenient and versatile textile products was investigated. Preliminary in the study; yarn hairiness, various factors affecting hairiness, measurement methods of hairiness are explained. Then the concepts of elastomeric fibers, spandex and producing core-spun yarn containing spandex (Lycra®) by using a modified ring spinning frame are explained. In the experimental part of the study, influence of the core (Lycra®) in elastic core-spun yarns, effects of winding and fixation (using saturated steam at low temperature in a vacuum pan) process on hairiness of elastic core-spun yarns are investigated. As a result, `S3 values, which represent the total number of hairy fiber ends longer than 3 mm or more from the yarn surface of the elastic core-spun yarns, are lower than that of staple yarns produced with the same staple fibers. We also observed that the hairiness of the elastic core-spun yarns increased after winding process and that the hairiness of elastic core-spun yarns which are in the package form are lower than that of the condensed yarn.
