Uno de los personajes fundamentales del siglo XIX mexicano es Agustín de Iturbide. Pese a ello, ha sido olvidado en las conmemoraciones de la independencia debido a las difíciles circunstancias que enfrentó su efímero gobierno imperial . A lo largo de las décadas que siguieron a la consumación de la independencia las disputas políticas entre diversos proyectos de nación utilizaron a Iturbide como bandera de tendencias opuestas, hasta llegar al abierto enfrentamiento entre dos proyectos: liberalismo y conservadurismo. En este trabajo se hará un análisis de la figura de Iturbide en los textos de sus contemporáneos.

Este trabajo intenta responder la siguiente pregunta: ¿la participación de militares y de eclesiásticos en la última etapa de la guerra de independencia de la Nueva España se puede caracterizar, como muchos la han descrito, de retrógrada, conservadora, antiliberal y anticonstitucional? En estos años fundacionales, el nacimiento de México como nación independiente y Estado soberano no fue producto de una contrarrevolución ni de maquinaciones de dos grupos retrógrados –militares y clero–, preocupados sólo de sus fueros y privilegios, pues entre sus filas, de 1808 a 1821, se encuentran personas de ideas avanzadas, de conciencia social, de amor a la libertad.

Neste artigo apresento algumas considerações sobre a mitosfera do consumo enquanto teoria que visa aproximar comunicação, consumo e imaginário. Para isso, realizo uma reflexão epistemológica aos estudos de comunicação e consumo, relacionando-os aos estudos do imaginário. Entre outros objetivos menos explícitos, buscarei fornecer bases teóricas para que possamos discutir o estatuto das imagens simbólicas e dos mitos na sociedade midiática e de consumo. En este artículo trato de presentar algunas notas sobre la mitosfera del consumo como una teoría que pretende acercar la comunicación al consumo y al imaginario. Para ello propondré una reflexión epistemológica sobre los estudios de comunicación y consumo, relacionándolos con los estudios del imaginario. Entre otros objetivos menos explícitos, también buscaré aportar bases teóricas para que podamos discutir el estatuto de las imágenes simbólicas y los mitos en la sociedad mediática y de consumo. In this article, I present some considerations on the mythosphere of consumption as a theory that aims to bring together communication, consumption, and imaginary. To this end, I carry out an epistemological reflection on communication and consumption studies, relating them to studies of the imaginary. Among other less explicit objectives, I will seek to provide theoretical bases to discuss the status of symbolic images and myths in the media and consumer society.

A presente pesquisa se destina ao estudo dos delitos de corrupção ativa, corrupção passiva e lavagem de dinheiro, e tem como objetivo analisar a conduta do intermediador no recebimento da vantagem indevida em nome do funcionário público. Nesse sentido, a questão que cumpre enfrentar é a seguinte: qual(is) crime(s) pratica o intermediador do pagamento de vantagens indevidas a funcionário público? Para examinar em detalhe a conduta do intermediador, a pesquisa expõe o desenvolvimento dos aspectos típicos dos delitos de corrupção ativa e passiva, aprofundando na dogmática sobre o momento consumativo e de exaurimento dos referidos crimes, bem como na possibilidade de participação do intermediador na corrupção ativa e passiva, ora delito especial. Partindo desse estágio da discussão, a pesquisa analisa o delito de lavagem de dinheiro e seus elementos típicos em conjunto com a possibilidade de concomitância entre o recebimento da vantagem indevida e os atos de ocultação e dissimulação do produto de crime, a fim de que se analise, por fim, o concurso de crimes e o concurso aparente de normas penais. Ao final, o trabalho propõe solução ao caso-modelo e suas variantes elaboradas sobre a problemática em torno do intermediador de vantagens indevidas. This research dedicates to the study of the crimes of corruption and money laundering and aims to analyze the conduct of the intermediary in receiving an undue advantage on behalf of the public official. In this sense, the question that must be faced is the following: what crime(s) is committed by the intermediary in the payment of undue advantages to a public official? In order to examine the conduct of the intermediator, the research exposes the development of the typical aspects of the corruption, delving into the dogmatics on the moment of consummation and completion of the aforementioned crimes, as well as the possibility of participation of the intermediator in active and passive corruption, now a special offense. From this stage of the discussion, the research analyzes the crime of money laundering and its typical elements in conjunction with the possibility of concomitance between the receipt of the undue advantage and the acts of concealment of the products of crime, to analyze, finally, the concurrence of crimes and the apparent concurrence of criminal rules. At the end, the work proposes a solution to the model-case and its variants elaborated on the problematic around the intermediator of undue advantages.

En la tarea de cumplir el mandato del Señor de anunciar el Evangelio a todo el mundo, el cristianismo se ha encontrado con otras culturas que poseen una concepción diferente de la creencia en la otra vida. El cristianismo tiene su propia antropología y escatología, con su comprensión propia de la realidad del más allá caracterizada por lo que le ocurre al individuo inmediatamente después de la muerte y lo que se refiere a la consumación comunitaria en la Parusía de Cristo. El autor de este artículo examina a los cristianos Chagga de Rombo que han recibido la fe cristiana, basada esta en el evento de Cristo, mientras que el pueblo Chagga se caracteriza por su creencia dominada por los antepasados y los muertos vivientes. El presente artículo abordará la cuestión de cómoconciliar estas dos creencias que parecen estar bien arraigadas en la vida espiritual del pueblo Chagga.

Once a crime has been committed, full repentance and restoration do not have any bearing on liability, but may be taken into account in mitigation of sentence. On the other hand, there is no question of criminal liability ensuing for an attempt at a crime if there is a withdrawal from the envisaged crime while still in the stage of preparation, and before, in South African law, reaching the watershed moment of the “commencement of the consummation”. However, what occurs between the moment when the attempt begins, and the moment when the crime has been completed, where there has been a withdrawal from the criminal purpose, is more contested terrain. The disagreement does not apparently arise in the South African case law, where the few judgments that refer to this question have consistently held that where the accused withdraws after the commencement of the consummation of the crime, there will be attempt liability and, at best, the accused may rely on the abandonment as a mitigating factor in sentencing. However, as is discussed, prominent South African academic commentators, along with comparative sources in both the civil-law and common-law jurisdictions, demur from such an “unyielding analysis”, and would regard such withdrawal as giving rise to a defence to criminal liability. Which approach ought to be applied in South African law? The question may be posed as to how to categorise a defence of voluntary withdrawal? It is neither a justification ground nor a ground excluding fault, but rather a ground excluding punishment. The uniqueness of the defence is demonstrated in that the accused has already met all the requirements for liability, and thus it is not an intending criminal, but an actual criminal who is being considered. This is at least true of the common-law approach (also adopted by South African law), where a two-stage approach is applied to the trial, relating first to establishing criminal liability and followed, if guilt is so established, by an inquiry into sentence. At the outset, it may be stated that the view that is taken in the discussion that follows is that there is no good reason to treat voluntary abandonment as a special defence. As Yaffe has stated, to grant a defence on the basis of abandonment is to mistake the absence of a reason to issue a particular sanction rather than a lower one for a sufficient reason to issue no sanction at all.In the discussion that follows, the current case law is examined, whereafter the alternative approach contended for by some academic writers (and used in other jurisdictions) is discussed; the arguments for and against a renunciation defence are set out, before these aspects are drawn together in a final concluding analysis.

In Germany every second offence occasioning bodily harm and every fourth sexual offence occur under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Untreated substance use disorders are a risk factor for further offences. The §64 of the German Penal Code (StGB) regulates the commitment of offenders to a Forensic addiction treatment unit as a result of an addiction to excessive consummation of intoxicating substances. The previous regulation has come under criticism because too many patients are committed, the sentence is often given to the wrong persons, the treatment is often terminated without success and the sentence consumes to many resources. From a psychiatric perspective the reform of commitment to a Forensic addiction treatment unit (§64 StGB) must fulfil the principles of medical ethics, in particular the respect for the autonomy of the patient, the principle of distributional justice and the code of medical professional ethics. The commitment according to §64 must be restricted to the treatment of people with a clinically relevant substance use disorder. From a psychiatric perspective, decisive for the prospect of success are the willingness to be treated and self-determination for admission to the clinic. In order to release the treatment from the extrinsic influences of the enforcement law, on admission to treatment a sufficient amount of the sentence should have already been served that the commitment only serves the purpose of the treatment and resocialization, so that the risk of further substance-related offences is reduced. Since independence, Burundi has endured civil war episodes, five successful and two unsuccessful coup d’états. This study was qualitative and employed a systematic review research methodology in identifying relevant texts. Document analysis was then used to interpret meaning from documents giving them voice over the study area. The main findings were hinged on conflict causes, key assumptions, violence and instability in the past, impunity and governance, the approach to political realism, truth and reconciliation constraints. This study concludes that although power-sharing could be a necessary move as a measure of building confidence, sharing power is not an adequate condition for sustainable development and peace.

In the call from papers from childhood & philosophy we hear an invitation to philosophize. But what does such an invitation mean? In what ways does an invitation or (re) invitation to philosophize encourage us to suspension our accepted meanings and empower us to sustain this challenge? These are the questions of two teachers who have, first, accepted the prior invitation to philosophize with children, and have now accepted the invitation to think and write together about that experience. This essay was prompted by two questions posed by the children with whom we philosophize: In writing it, we have experienced other ways of thinking and living educational practice, and, through our encounters with our students, find ourselves challenged to live in more inventive and therefore more childlike ways within the framework of the public school, here understood in the sense of scholé (Masschelein; Simmons, 2013). In order to reflect on the two questions, we set off from the concept of consummation (Heidegger, 1987), and we engage in dialogue with both a pedagogy of the question (Freire; Faundez, 1985), and the concept of equality of intelligence (Rancière, 2005), in order to open a pathway of thought that addresses them.

El objetivo de este artículo es determinar en qué sentido el proyecto del transhumanismo tecnocientífico supone una revolución teórica que termine alterando radicalmente nuestra concepción tradicional del ser humano. Para ello, primero se presenta el debate contemporáneo entre las posturas bioconservadoras y posthumanistas con el propósito de señalar los argumentos más comunes que sostienen ambas. Después se discuten los principales conceptos que articulan este debate y que pueden reducirse a dos: la naturaleza y el humanismo. Para analizarlos son examinados a la luz de la tradición en la que se enmarcan y de los últimos desarrollos tecnocientíficos, mostrándose como sumamente problemáticos y multívocos como para poder dar una contestación suficiente al fenómeno transhumanista. A continuación, se muestra hasta qué punto el transhumanismo se halla imbricado dentro de la tradición del humanismo filosófico, examinando la consideración del ser humano que se desprende de éste y las distintas vertientes presentes. Al analizar minuciosamente el pensamiento humanístico clásico, es posible encontrar el marco de ideas y creencias necesarias para acabar definiendo al transhumanismo como la apoteosis y consumación del proyecto metafísico y antropocéntrico del humanismo teórico antiesencialista. Finalmente se propone reorientar el proyecto transhumanista primando las cuestiones políticas con el objetivo de que responda a intereses emancipatorios, necesarios para establecer un desarrollo de tipo humanista en sentido práctico que inspire la construcción de un sistema socio-económico alternativo.

RESUMEN El artículo aborda el significado moral del homicidio en el contexto de la justicia penal, específicamente a través de las acusaciones y sentencias que reflejan la práctica de fiscales y jueces para definir el tipo legal del homicidio, sus modalidades, agravantes y penalidad. Basado en la revisión de diez expedientes judiciales de homicidas condenados, se revisaron las acusaciones y sentencias condenatorias para identificar los argumentos para la inculpación moral y la graduación de la pena, los cuales coinciden de forma manifiesta entre fiscales y jueces y permiten predecir, desde el inicio del procedimiento e independientemente de la admisión de los hechos, el resultado de la sentencia. RESUMO Acusação e sentença como expressão do julgamento moral diante do homicídio aborda o significado moral do homicídio no sistema de justiça criminal, especificamente por meio das acusações e sentenças que refletem a prática dos promotores e juízes na definição do tipo legal de homicídio, suas modalidades, fatores agravantes e penalidades. Com base na revisão de dez processos judiciais de assassinos condenados, foram analisadas as acusações e condenações, a fim de identificar os argumentos para a inculpação moral e a graduação da punição, que coincidem enormemente entre promotores e juízes e permitem prever, desde o início do procedimento e independentemente da negociação do pleito, o resultado da sentença. La revista literaria El recreo de las familias hasta el momento ha sido poco estudiada y merece profundizar en ella debido al papel que desempeñó como legitimadora del quehacer literario de los escritores mexicanos en 1838, en un periodo tan cercano a la consumación de la independencia en que ellos se encontraban definiendo su oficio para lograr diferenciarse de su pasado colonial. El presente artículo tiene como objetivo analizar cómo esta publicación funcionó como vehículo de legitimación del quehacer literario para los escritores mexicanos que en ella colaboraron y que emplearon para poner su oficio a la altura de las naciones civilizadas, demostrando así que había dejado atrás su pasado bárbaro. Su identidad como escritores no se definió en una abierta confrontación crítica frente a los autores de las naciones que ellos consideraban civilizadas, sino encontrando en ellos modelos intelectuales dignos de ser replicados para extraer de ellos elementos adecuados para su didáctica individual y colectiva, pero sobre todo en un proceso de apropiación de las obras extranjeras, en el que el proceso de copia y traducción jugaron un papel clave.

Este artículo aborda la historia de Toluca durante la guerra y la consumación de la Independencia con base en la siguiente pregunta de investigación: ¿cómo experi-mentó la sociedad de una ciudad provincial como Toluca el movimiento de 1808, la guerra civil y los flagelos como el hambre, las epidemias y los pagos exigidos por los dos bandos contendientes? Para contestarla es utilizada la perspectiva de la historia social. Finalmente, destaca el establecimiento del primer ayuntamiento constitucio-nal, extinguido en 1814 y restablecido en 1820, que se constituye como el organismo representativo de los toluqueños.

El texto analiza cómo se realizaron los festejos por la Consumación de Independencia en el siglo XIX. A partir de la propuesta de los lieux de mémoire [lugares de la memoria] y con base en hemerografía, discursos cívicos y documentación oficial, se considera el proceso de construcción del calendario cívico mediante la inclusión o exclusión de ciertos hechos. Se constata cómo los grupos en el poder utilizaron la festividad para patentizar su filiación política en los momentos en que se llevó a cabo, lo cual contribuye a la conformación de la memoria histórica, seleccionando los recuerdos y relegando los olvidos.

Dada la importancia que se confiere a las relaciones de pareja, su rompimiento generalmente repercute de manera negativa en la vida de sus miembros, sobre todo en quien es víctima de la decisión del otro es decir, quien ejerce un papel pasivo. Así, desde el punto de vista cultural, cuando se le atribuye a la relación de pareja un valor importante como fuente de realización personal y familiar, y ello se transmite a través de los miembros lo que facilita el desarrollo de creencias, normas, actitudes y expectativas del amor, su búsqueda y consumación se vuelve una directriz en la vida de las personas. Adicional a esto, si el apego que representa el medio por el cual se cubren las necesidades biológicas de afecto y seguridad se ve satisfecho en la vinculación con el otro, puede que resulte devastador perder la fuente de tales satisfactores. Con base en lo anterior, el propósito de este estudio fue identificar la relación entre los estilos de apego y las premisas histórico-socioculturales (PHSC) del duelo romántico con las estrategias de rompimiento percibidas por los abandonados con historia romántica positiva o negativa. Para ello, se trabajó con una muestra no probabilística de 547 personas residentes de la Ciudad de México que habían sido dejadas por su pareja. Tras realizar algunos análisis de correlación, los resultados indicaron que las PHSC tienen mayores efectos sobre la percepción de estrategias de rompimiento negativo tanto en personas con historia romántica positiva como negativa. Los efectos incrementan cuando se trata de las PHSC sobre el sentir, principalmente en abandonados con historia negativa y con estilo de apego ansioso-ambivalente, seguido del evitativo. Por su parte, las PHSC positivas se asocian, pero en un nivel bajo, con cualquier estrategia percibida. Based on the foregoing, the purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between the historic socio-cultural premises (PHSC, for its Spanish acronym) about romantic mourning and the attachment styles with the breakup strategies perceived by the passive subjects with a positive and negative romantic history. To do this, the study used a non-probabilistic sample of 547 residents of Mexico City who had been left by their partner. After performing some correlation analyzes, results indicated that the PHSC’s have greater effects on the perception of negative breakup strategies in people with a positive or negative romantic history. The effects increased when dealing with PHSC’s about feelings, mainly in passive members with a negative history and with an anxious attachment style followed by those with avoidant style. For their part, positive PHSCs are associated, but at a low level, with any perceived strategy.

The idea of consummation as definitive of a marriage seems antiquated today. Yet, consummation operates as a central criterion in determinations of a ‘genuine marriage’ in Canadian immigration law. Drawing on the marriage and migration literature, theorizations of sexual citizenship, and critical multiculturalism, we explore recent judicial considerations of consummation in Canadian family sponsorship adjudications. We searched the CanLII database (a Canadian database of legislation and judicial records) for the keywords ‘non-consummation’ and ‘genuine marriage’ and identified 68 cases. Para ello, a partir de las propuestas teóricas desarrolladas por la Teoría de la Enunciación de Oswald Ducrot y la Teoría de la Argumentación de Ruth Amossy y Dominique Maingueneau, nos interesamos en señalar el desenvolvimiento de los interlocutores, donde los locutores se dirigen a los alocutarios con el fin supremo de persuadirlos para que se unan a la lucha libertaria del pueblo republicano. Asimismo, se detalla cómo en el propósito persuasivo que se evidencia en el discurso lírico, este alcanza su consumación enunciativa gracias a la gran performance del ethos y del pathos.

In order to look more closely at connection between Beckett's film and television work and Chaos theory, the author first attempts a very quick gloss of the new science. Examining more closely the intersection between Chaos theory and Beckett's film and television work, let the reader begin with Film, which was written in 1963. The work rejects the traditional cinematic paradigm of disinterested camera and narrative closure, moving instead toward a structure based on principles the people have associated with Chaos theory. Like other avant-garde artists of the period, Beckett pushes further and further from apparent complexity and monistic closure, instead working toward a culmination of minimalistic complexity and generative consummation. The information contained in one (or all) of Beckett’s teleplays creates a pattern which has no need to revert to deterministic meaning to present its inherent beauty.

The central claim of a Consummation Anyway (CA) model is that God could bring about eschatological consummation sans the fall—the intended telos of created humanity—apart from the incarnation of Christ. As such, the CA model is an alternative to an Incarnation Anyway (IA) model, according to which Christ’s incarnation is a necessary means by which a state of eschatological glory would be achieved sans the fall. This essay seeks to propose an argument for the CA model by drawing from the covenant theology of the Reformed tradition, and it moves in four steps. Firstly, I shall summarize Marc Cortez’s recent arguments for IA, homing in on the major moves that are most relevant for sketching a CA model. Secondly, I will highlight the challenges Cortez has offered against those interested in defending a CA model. Thirdly, I shall sketch a Reformed account of the CA model that seeks to address Cortez’s objections. Fourthly, then, I’ll consider two potential objections against the sketch I have offered for CA, inspired by a recent argument offered by James T. Turner (2019). Finally, I close with a brief conclusion that summarizes some salient features of the proposed thesis. This paper thus proposes at least one way in which the CA thesis could remain a real and live option within this debate.

Private merger enforcement is a minefield: there is considerable potential downside for industry because in many cases, the motives of private plaintiffs in a merger challenge will not align with the purpose of the antitrust laws; and it is risky for plaintiffs because they will rarely win. So rarely that, in a Fourth Circuit case decided in February of 2021, the court stated “private suits seeking divestiture are rare and, to our knowledge, no court had ever ordered divestiture in a private suit before this case.” Section 16 claims have been historically underdiscussed, in large part because plaintiffs are (almost) always unsuccessful. But the Fourth Circuit grant of divestiture to a private plaintiff just this year affords us an opportunity to evaluate this oft overlooked corner of antitrust law. Should private plaintiffs be able to mold the shape of industries to such a degree? This comment explores the concerns unique to private merger enforcement under § 16 of the Clayton Act, and maintains that despite the JELD-WEN ruling, courts should continue to review these suits with a critical eye. I acknowledge that private merger enforcement is part of the overall antitrust enforcement schema designed by Congress, and that the importance of private plaintiffs in the overall system has been echoed by the Supreme Court. I then detail counterbalancing concerns unique to private merger enforcement under section 16 of the Clayton Act. Ultimately, I argue that despite the JELD-WEN ruling, courts should continue to review these suits with a critical eye. When evaluating private merger challenges, courts ought to consistently apply the antitrust injury doctrine, give preference consumer plaintiffs over competitor plaintiffs, and be wary of unrecoverable waste resulting from divestiture in post-merger consummation challenges.

The present study explores the features of English language literacy among 12 famous English language educators since the opening-up policy in China, using the narrative research approach. The purpose of this paper is to examine the characteristics of English language literacy among some famous educators in China and the influencing factors in the process of their formations of English language literacy through the analysis of the narrative texts of some foreign language educators. The findings showed that English language literacy among these famous educators is fundamental, developmental, and comprehensive. In addition, it has been found that the formation of their English language literacy is related to social, teacher, and personal factors. This study will be insightful for the cultivation of English language literacy in curriculum reform, teaching practice, and evaluation. Moreover, it will be helpful for the construction of cultivating talents based on the English language literacy, the consummation of the research of English language literacy, and the profound fusion of the talent cultivation.

El propósito de este artículo es analizar la eficacia interpeladora del discurso nacionalcatólico sobre la feminidad, durante la posguerra franquista. Para ello, se empleará el estudio de un expediente representativo del Tribunal Tutelar de Menores de Bilbao. Este proceso, unido a otros de forma coral, permitirá desentrañar los significados de la (des)honestidad femenina, cuando ésta fue objeto de penalización judicial. En este sentido, lo que se juzgó tuvo que ver más con una consideración social y moral de las procesadas, que con la consumación de un delito manifiesto. Lo que se ha podido corroborar es que la (des)honestidad femenina fue comprendida como un estado transitorio y no producto de una esencia fija. Las mujeres podían pasar de un estado de impureza a uno de pureza, en la medida en que acomodaran sus prácticas a los ideales normativos. El discurso católico de la redención moral se convirtió en el vehículo central.

The main objective of this article is to elucidate, from the discourse Gelassenheit, which occurred in 1955, problems that pervade Martin Heidegger's late philosophy, especially with regard to the issue of technique and human thought. To problematize the technique implies establishing the distinction between meditative thinking and calculating thinking, in addition to calling into question the position of the human being in the totality proper to the entity. The technique would therefore be a way of claiming the individual and a transformation of his essence, as well as one of the faces of the consummation of nihilism present in the current era. This chapter considers the role of the people in Carl Schmitt’s theorizing on democracy, and invokes the concept of constitutive boundaries as a way of understanding how communities are reproduced by way of territorial borders as well as criteria for membership and cultural markers, e.g. symbols, rituals, and holidays. The chapter suggests that the latter constitute instances of a larger logical space of constitutive exceptions, that, Schmitt implies, reproduce existing orders, but also threaten to replace them with new ones; thus, such exceptions may be surrounded by protective boundaries of the sacred, concretely as well as abstractly. Ultimately, we may visualize an entire topology of the exceptional, which is subject to fierce contestation, since it points to the possibility of new orders beyond existing ones, which may be interpreted in terms of different trajectories of highly ambiguous processes of secularization.

Resumen.Objetivo. Conocer el estado de la investigación sobre los factores protectores y de riesgo de suicidio en jóvenes en varios países de América Latina. Método. El estudio se ha realizado mediante una revisión sistemática de literatura y con un enfoque cualitativo. Resultados. La mayor parte de los estudios analizados para este artículo se han realizado desde ciencias de la salud con predominio de enfoques cuantitativos, avocándose principalmente en factores de riesgo y en menor medida en factores protectores. No obstante, se reconoce la necesidad de estudiar más a fondo estos últimos, así como las medidas de prevención que puedan ser útiles en intervenciones e investigaciones futuras. Por otro lado, se ha encontrado que la familia como primer espacio de interacción social, representa un elemento determinante tanto en el desarrollo de factores protectores como de riesgo en jóvenes. Además, se destaca que para esta población la combinación de diferentes factores de riesgo podría agravar considerablemente la ocurrencia de un intento o consumación de suicidio. Abstract.Objective. To determine the state of research on protective and risk factors of suicide in young people in several Latin American countries. Method. The study was conducted following a Systematic Literature Review with a qualitative approach. Results. Most studies analyzed for this article have been conducted from within the health sciences with a predominance of quantitative approaches, focusing mainly on risk factors and, to a lesser extent, on protective factors. However, there is a need to study the latter in greater depth, as well as prevention measures that may be useful in future interventions and research. In addition, it has been found that the family, as the first space of social interaction, represents a determining element in the development of both protective and risk factors in young people. Furthermore, for this population, the combination of different risk factors could considerably aggravate the occurrence of a suicide attempt or consummation.

The Temporal Experience of Pleasure Scale (TEPS) is a multidimensional self-report measure that has been used to improve understanding of anticipation (“wanting”) and consummation (“liking”) of reward. The TEPS has been used to assess anhedonia in clinical depression, but its factor structure has not yet been confirmed in this population. This seems important given mixed findings on the model fit and factor structure of the TEPS in clinical and community samples. To remedy this, the current study used confirmatory factor analysis to test models of the TEPS items across three studies: 1) in adults with major depression (N = 334), 2) in youth with major depression (N = 305), and 3) in a community sample (N = 320). In summary, the model fit of the two-factor TEPS scales was adequate in depressed and community Australian samples. Nevertheless, some items may require removal or revision based on cultural preferences for pleasurable experiences. On comparing the clinical and community groups, deficits in the experience of pleasure in depression were replicated, and were more pronounced in anticipatory pleasure/wanting (d = 1.33) relative to consummatory pleasure/liking (d = 0.64).

RESUMO Este artigo tem por objetivo analisar a kénosis do Espírito Santo como chave de leitura da fé cristã na criação à luz do pensamento de Sergei Bulgakov. Evidencia-se a relevância soteriológica do Espírito Santo que, em sua igualdade ao Filho, diviniza o homem e o mundo. A kénosis do Espírito, que vai desde o pairar sobre as águas, na criação, até a Transfiguração, a consumação escatológica do novo céu e da nova terra, repousa sobre a criatura, atuando em sua condição humana marcada pela sua história e fragilidade. Ressalta-se que somente em analogia à kénosis do Filho é possível falar da kénosis do Espírito, isso porque esta se une à natureza humana, tomando-o debaixo da sombra do seu poder, da sua potência. Por fim, conclui-se que no influxo do Espírito que cria e recria, o ser humano é chamado a buscar em si mesmo a inspiração originária do Paraíso terrestre que o interpela à ética ecológica da responsabilidade de salvaguardar a criação. ABSTRACT This article aims to analyze the kenosis of the Holy Spirit as a Christian faith’s key to understanding the creation of the world according to Sergei Bulgakov’s thought. The article highlights the soteriological relevance of the Holy Spirit who, in joint action with the Son, divinizes man and the world. The kenosis of the Spirit extends from the creation of the world as it hovered over the waters, through the Transfiguration up to the eschatological consummation of creations as a new heaven and a new earth. In this kenosis the Spirit dwells on the creature and acts on the human condition that is marked by history and fragility. The article emphasizes that it is possible to speak of the kenosis of the Holy Spirit only through an analogy with the kenosis of the Son. In the latter, divine nature has united itself with human nature and has taken it under the shadow of its strength and power. Finally, the article concludes that under the influence of the Holy Spirit who creates and recreates, human beings are challenged to revive an intuition of the original Paradise, one that orients creatures towards an ecological ethic of responsibility aimed at safeguarding creation.

One of the main concerns of the so-called Heidegger’s later philosophy rests upon modern technology and its instauration as the ‘consummation’ of metaphysics, the end of an historical process of mensuration and grasping of Being. Although already present in his seminal “Being and Time”, it is in the conference “The Question Concerning Technology” that the German philosopher builds the concept of technology beyond an instrumental and dispositive-oriented approach. For him, technology is the mode in which beings are disclosed as existing entities for the human being in contemporaneity, as passible of production, problematization, calculation and reproducibility. Heidegger points to this thinking as being the consummation of a history ( Seingeschichte ) of continuous apprehension of Being’s disclosure ignited with the Greeks through Plato. Departing from Heidegger’s destruction of metaphysics and his criticism of its modern expression, technology, this paper seeks to delineate a criticism of theology as this field developed itself within metaphysics and appears at the modern technology era, building upon heideggerian reflections over the mentioned texts and other works of his. This way, this paper wants to contribute to a post-metaphysical theology and understanding of God. The analysis also covers a significant range of literature review on heideggerian philosophy readers.

Based on long-term fieldwork in Jordan, this paper discusses two marriage registration practices that have become topics of public debate and locus for intervention projects of development organizations: the early registration of marriages among Palestinian camp residents, and the non-registration of marriages among Syrian refugees. This paper shows how the narratives around marriage registration play a role in the production of identity and senses of belonging and provides insight into the overlaps and gaps between the discourses of development organizations and the concerns of those involved in these practices. In the Palestinian case, the early registration of marriage provides the couple with a limited but important space to get acquainted before the wedding. Women’s organizations and NGOs, however, often blame this practice for the increase in divorce rates before consummation. In the Syrian case, organizations focus on the negative legal and social consequences of not registering a marriage with the state, while conversations with Syrians reveal the obstacles they face while navigating the Jordanian legal system and their need to legitimize their non-registration of marriages.

Drawing data from the most recent wave of the India Human Development Survey and the year of the first election with reserved seats for women, I estimate the effect of the Panchayati Raj institutions on child marriage. In India, marriage traditions dictate that two ceremonies take place: the wedding and the gauna ceremony. These differ in timing and purpose. After the wedding, the bride and groom do not necessarily live together. The gauna ceremony indicates the start of marital life and the consummation of the marriage. Results indicate that women in local government decrease the likelihood of child marriage, and delay the age at first marriage and the gauna ceremony. Delaying marriage has important policy implications for both the bride and her future children as it improves education, autonomy over fertility, and health. The results indicate that after 18 years of implementation, exposure to women in government can reduce the prevalence of child marriage.

By concentration, the present can be extended to approximate eternity, which is the messianic future. The idea of making a moment linger is salient in Bavli Berkahot as well. The close correlation between redemption and ritual presumes the lingering of time, achieved by prolonging the recitation, concentrating on the text, and merging the blessings. Prolonging halakhic time at any cost hastens the coming of the ultimate meta-historical event. Thus Aqiba’s protracting of the word ehad brings him into a meta-historical context, into the future world. The moment of reading the word ehad lingers amidst torture, spasm, and ecstasy. That ecstasy is the consummation of love with God.

In the Journey of the Mind to God and Conferences on the Hexaemeron, however, Bonaventure looks not to the Jerusalem of original innocence but to the heavenly Jerusalem as a model for the final redemption of human nature. Bonaventure combines both of these traditions about Jerusalem in his portrait of Saint Francis in the Major Legend. According to Bonaventure, Francis is the exemplar of perfect human nature because, in him, the circular pattern of redemption is made complete.

The optimization is transpired and the artificial network structure has intended the model of QFD.

Human existence is intrinsically community-oriented. Persons find themselves as responsible in community. This is a classical and Christian insight that is supported by significant contemporary philosophers such as Gabriel Marcel and Emmanuel Levinas. This article makes the claim that to thrive as a person is to belong; indeed, that it is the experience of belonging that satisfies the human need for meaning, value, and purpose. The article proceeds by considering the term ‘community.’ In itself, ‘community’ is a common sense term. However, it is also a symbol with dimensions of meaning beyond common sense implicit within it.
