Drawing from the knowledge management literature, we developed and tested a nomological network related to knowledge sharing – i.e., knowledge seeking and knowledge providing using knowledge management systems. We investigated the effect of cultural contingencies on the prediction of both knowledge seeking and knowledge providing. In addition, we examined the effect of knowledge sharing using a KMS on employee job performance. We conducted a study using a field survey of 224 employees in an organization in the People's Republic of China and United States. We found that sensitivity to image and sensitivity to organizational incentives influenced both knowledge seeking and knowledge providing, and the effect was varied across individuals with different cultural values. For example, our findings suggested that the negative relationship between sensitivity to image and knowledge seeking was stronger for individuals with collectivistic values than for those with individualistic values. We also found that both knowledge seeking and knowledge providing led to better job performance. Accepted version

Myocardial fibrosis (MF) is the result of metabolic imbalance of collagen synthesis and metabolism, which is widespread in various cardiovascular diseases. Autophagy is a lysosomal degradation pathway which is highly conserved. In recent years, research on autophagy has been increasing and the researchers have also become cumulatively aware of the specified association between autophagy and MF. This review highlights the role of autophagy in MF and the potential effects through the administration of medicine.

This paper proposes an interactive image-segmentation method which is based on superpixel. To achieve fast segmentation, the method is used to establish a Graphcut model using superpixels as nodes, and a new energy function is proposed. Experimental results demonstrate that the authors' method has excellent performance in terms of segmentation accuracy and computation efficiency compared with other segmentation algorithm based on pixels.

Methods to detect the deep convective clouds using NOAA-16/AMSU-B and GOES-9 data are provided, and a serial of algorithms of detection and discrimination are presented and tested, which include the microwave brightness temperatures detection from the two window channels, water vapor channel microwave brightness differences identification based on the AMSU-B data, infrared brightness thresholds detection of cloud top temperatures, the water vapor and infrared window temperature differences determination, and the classification of cumulonimbus clouds correlating with deep convective clouds with infrared/water vapor spectral features. By detecting and analyzing deep convective clouds in the images on 16 June in 2004, the techniques are investigated, and by matching surface conventional data the results of various methods are validated. The results show that microwave brightness temperatures from window channels can discriminate deep convective clouds efficiently, differences between three water vapor channels can identify the deep convective clouds well and depend on the thresholds less. The GOES-9 different infrared brightness thresholds are given the detection regions are more or less. The water vapor and infrared window temperature differences determination areas are smaller. The stepwise cluster can identify cumulonimbus clouds correlating with deep convective clouds applying with infrared/water vapor spectral features, the detection areas are coincident with AMSU-B detection areas, and the surface conventional data can validate the results, which include hazards weather and cumulonimbus clouds.

With relation to photorefraction, it has been found that higher light irradiation intensities can be withstood by Li-rich LiNbO3:Mg (5 mol%) than by the congruent LiNbO3:Mg (5 mol%). The photoconductivity of the former is an order of magnitude larger than that of the latter. Doping with 0.1 wt% Fe in Li-rich LiNbO3:Mg (5 mol%) does not distinctively alter its ability to resist photorefraction. The photovoltaic currents of Li-rich LN:Mg:Fe and Li-rich LN:Mg are nearly equal and are two orders of magnitude smaller than that of LN:Fe. The photoconductivity of Li-rich LN:Mg:Fe is an order of magnitude smaller than that of Li-rich LN:Mg and is much larger than that of LN:Fe.

The ability of Li-rich LiNbO3:Mg(5mol%):Fe(0.1wt%) to resist photorefraction is found to be comparable to that of LiNbO3:Mg (5mol%), even though the photorefraction sensitive dopant Fe is added. The nuclear quadrupole splitting and isomer shift of 57Fe in Li-rich LiNbO3:Mg:57Fe and LiNbO3:57Fe are quite different. The electron spin resonance spectra of the two kinds of crystals are significantly different, too. The enhanced resistance to photorefraction may be due to the change in occupation sites of Fe ions.
