More than 2 million years ago in East Africa, the earliest hominin stone tools evolved amidst changes in resource base, with pounding technology playing a key role in this adaptive process. Olduvai Gorge (now Oldupai) is a famed locality that remains paramount for the study of human evolution, also yielding some of the oldest battering tools in the world. However, direct evidence of the resources processed with these technologies is lacking entirely. One way to obtain this evidence is through the analysis of surviving residues. Yet, linking residues with past processing activities is not simple. In the case of plant exploitation, this link can only be established by assessing site-based reference collections inclusive of both anthropogenic and natural residues as a necessary first step and comparative starting point. In this paper, we assess microbotanical remains from rock clasts sourced at the same quarry utilized by Oldowan hominins at Oldupai Gorge. We mapped this signal and analysed it quantitatively to classify its spatial distribution objectively, extracting proxies for taxonomic identification and further comparison with freestanding soils. In addition, we used blanks to manufacture pounding tools for blind, controlled replication of plant processing. We discovered that stone blanks are in fact environmental reservoirs in which plant remains are trapped by lithobionts, preserved as hardened accretions. Tool use, on the other hand, creates residue clusters; however, their spatial distribution can be discriminated from purely natural assemblages by the georeferencing of residues and statistical analysis of resulting patterns. To conclude, we provide a protocol for best practice and a workflow that has the advantage of overcoming environmental noise, reducing the risk of false positive, delivering a firm understanding of residues as polygenic mixtures, a reliable use of controls, and most importantly, a stronger link between microbotanical remains and stone tool use. © 2022. The aim of this study was to identify and understand the syndromes of mania in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), as described in Chinese literature on the integrated treatment of mania using TCM and Western medicine.A literature search conducted in Chinese databases identified 27 articles that were included in a statistical analysis to determine the proportion of mania cases represented by various TCM syndromes.After combining similar syndromes, we found that the TCM syndromes of mania could be categorized as phlegm-fire disturbance of the mind (Tanhuoraoshen), phlegm-heat stagnation (Tanreyujie), qi stagnation and blood stasis (Qizhixueyu), liver qi stagnation (Gandanyure), and fire injury Yin (Huoshengshnagyin). These syndrome categories accounted for 55.6%, 18.5%, 14.8%, 7.4% and 3.7% of mania cases, respectively. Manic symptom severity scores differed significantly among phlegm-fire disturbance of the mind (26.8 ± 1.6), phlegm-heat stagnation (31.1 ± 1.9), and qi stagnation and blood stasis (23.5 ± 2.2).The largest proportion of mania cases involved phlegm-fire disturbance of the mind, phlegm-heat stagnation, or qi stagnation and blood stasis. Cumulatively, these syndromes accounted for 88.9% of cases; the severity of manic symptoms different significantly among the 3 syndrome categories. Smaller proportions of cases represented liver qi stagnation or fire injury Yin.

The aim of the present work was to evaluate the effect of the melamine-resin and Na+-montmorillonite and during the synthesis and deposition of organosilicon hybrid coating on 6063 micro-arc oxidation of aluminum alloy and to analyze how these synthesis parameters affect composition, corrosion performance, friction performance and adhesion of the coating resultant. The results show that the existence of melamine-resin/organosilicon/Na+-montmorillonite composite coating greatly improved the corrosion resistance of aluminium alloy, and the associativity between coating and substrate. What’s more, the obtained coating has superior corrosion resistance and frictional resistance. The surface of the coating forms a smooth and smooth microstructure, and the hydrophobicity of the composite coating is obviously improved. The corrosion experiment result indicates the high stability and better adhesion of melamine/organosilicon /Na+-montmorillonite composite coating. It could be used in corrosion environment for a long time.

In patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, MYC combined with Bcl2 and/or Bcl6-based protein expression is called double expression lymphoma (DEL). R-DA-EPOCH program chemotherapy is typically recommended because these patients often have a poor prognosis. Although numerous factors affect survival of patients with DEL, the roles of the tumor biomarker histone methyltransferase G9a (G9a) and the lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR) are unknown. We performed a retrospective analysis of data from 51 patients. These patients were newly diagnosed with DEL and treated with R-DA-EPOCH at Taizhou People’ s Hospital and Northern Jiangsu People's Hospital between June 2014 and December 2019. Receiver operator characteristic curve results were used to calculate the LMR cutoff value. We used an immunohistochemical analysis to examine G9a expression in DEL tissues. The Kaplan–Meier method was used to determine progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) characteristics. Cox proportional-hazards models were constructed for univariate and multivariate analyses to examine the prognostic values of LMRs and G9a in patients with DEL. The cutoff value for LMR was 2.18. The 5-year PFS rate was 35.3%, and the 5-year OS rate was 39.2%. Patients with DEL with lower LMRs and who were G9a-positive predicted inferior PFS and OS. Univariate analysis revealed that patients with elevated LDH levels, high National Comprehensive Cancer Network International Prognostic Index (NCCN-IPI) scores, LMRs ≤2.18, and G9a-positive results had relatively poorer PFS and OS. The multivariate analysis revealed that LMRs ≤2.18 and a G9a-positive result were independent prognostic factors for PFS and OS in patients with DEL treated with R-DA-EPOCH. The study results suggested that peripheral blood LMRs were an important marker for evaluation of prognosis in patients with DEL. High expression of G9a was associated with worse outcomes, indicating that G9a may serve as a prognostic biomarker for patients with DEL who undergo R-DA-EPOCH program chemotherapy.

BackgroundThe diagnosis of bipolar disorder is still one of the key problems in psychiatric clinic. Although DSM-5 has made some important changes, it has not completely changed the missed diagnosis and misdiagnosis of bipolar disorder.It was very important that diagnostic scale was used in clinic.But the study results of assist diagnostic scale for bipolar disorder should been concluded and analyzed.Bipolarity index was one of assist diagnostic scale,which should be analyzed comprehensively.MethodsWe searched CBM, CNKI , WANFANG and CSSCI in Chinese to find literature from Julyr 31 2004 to July 31 2020 related to Bipolarity Index in diagnosis for bipolar disorder ,among which results such as comments, letters, reviews and case reports were excluded. The rate of sensitivity,specificity,accuracy,positive predictive value and negative predictive value in diagnosis was synthesized and discussed.ResultsA total of 1237 subjects were included in 5 studies. Random effect model is used to account for the data by Revman 5.2. The results showed that the sensitivity of BI in diagnostic was 0.93 (95% CI: 0.93–1.00), the specificity was 85% (95% CI: 0.69–0.96). the positive predict value was 74% (95% CI: 0.53–0.91).the negative predict value was 95% (95% CI: 0.81–1.00).and accuracy was 86% (95% CI: 0.77–0.93). Significant heterogeneity was detected across studies regarding these incidence estimates. ConclusionThe idea diagnostic value of BI was found. although the significant heterogeneity detected in studies.We must interpret the results with caution and also put attention to this result,which include comparison to other diagnostic scale,perfecting sue of BI in clinical psychiatry.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are endogenous small RNAs that play a crucial role in plant growth, development, and environmental stress responses. Reaumuria soongorica is a typical halophyte that is widely distributed in saline&ndash, alkali desert regions. Under salt stress, R. soongorica can complete germination, a critical biological process in the life cycle of seed plants. To identify miRNAs and predict target mRNAs involved in seed germination during salt stress, nine small-RNA libraries were constructed and analyzed from R. soongorica seeds treated with various concentrations of NaCl. We also obtained transcriptome data under the same treatment conditions. Further analysis identified 88 conserved miRNAs representing 25 defined families and discovered 13 novel miRNAs from nine libraries. A co-expression analysis was performed on the same samples to identify putative miRNA&ndash, mRNA interactions that were responsive to salt stress. A comparative analysis of expression during germination under 273 (threshold) and 43 mM (optimal) NaCl treatments identified 13 differentially expressed miRNAs and 23 corresponding target mRNAs, while a comparison between 43 mM NaCl and non-salt-stress conditions uncovered one differentially expressed miRNA and one corresponding target mRNA. These results provide basic data for further study of molecular mechanisms involved in the germination of salt-stressed R. soongorica seeds, and also provide a reference for the improvement of salt tolerance during plant germination.

We present an object detection framework based on PaddlePaddle. We put all the strategies together (multi-scale training, FPN, Cascade, Dcnv2, Non-local, libra loss) based on ResNet200-vd backbone. Our model score on public leaderboard comes to 0.6269 with single scale test. We proposed a new voting method called top-k voting-nms, based on the SoftNMS detection results. The voting method helps us merge all the models' results more easily and achieve 2nd place in the Google AI Open Images Object Detection Track 2019.

Importance Nearly half of children suffering vision impairment reside in China with myopia accounting for the vast majority. Background To describe the design and methodology of the Shanghai Child and Adolescent Large‐scale Eye Study (SCALE). Design The SCALE was a city wide, school‐based, prospective survey. Participants Children and adolescents aged 4–14 years from kindergarten (middle and senior), primary schools and junior high schools of all 17 districts and counties of the city of Shanghai, China were examined in 2012–2013. Methods Each enrolled child underwent vision assessment (distance visual acuity; uncorrected and with corrective device if worn) and their parent/carer completed a questionnaire designed to elicit risk factors associated with myopia. Additionally, non‐cycloplegic autorefraction and ocular axial length was measured in a subset of the larger sample. Main Outcome Measures Prevalence and the associated factors of vision impairment, myopia and high myopia in Shanghai. Results In 2012–2013, a total of 910 245 of the eligible 1 196 763 children and adolescents identified from census (76%, mean age 9.0 ± 2.7 years [4–14 years]) were enrolled with visual acuity screened in the city of Shanghai. Of these, 610 952 children (67% of the entire sample) underwent non‐cycloplegic autorefraction and 219 188 (24% of the entire sample) had both non‐cycloplegic autorefraction and axial length measurements. Conclusions and Relevance The study results will provide insights on the burden of vision impairment, myopia and high myopia in children and adolescents in a metropolitan area of China, and contribute to the policies and strategies to address and limit the burden.

The depression are a common mental disorders in China. It's morbidity is about 4. 0/100, which influence Chinese people's mental health. The Chinese psychiatrists carry out many studies about depression in aetiologyi¼Œtherapeuticsi¼Œprophylaxis and rehabilitation. The study of P 300 in patients with depression are one of those studies, and also generated some studies about relationship between P300 and depression. These studies include : (1) features of depression patients, (2) effects of antidepressants on P300 in patients with depression, (3) relationship between P300 and depression symptoms, (4) relationship between P300 and cognitive impairment, (5) treatment effective prediction role of P300 in patients with depression. (6) P300 aid in the differential diagnosis of subtype of depression. These results will be reviewed and assessed in our review. Major depressive disorder is a serious mental disorder that profoundly affects an individual's quality of life. Although the aetiology underlying this disorder remain unclear, an increasing attention has been focused on the pathophysiological changes, regardless of etiology or outcome, which are associated with depression (Yang et al., 2015). The existence of such a link is indeed conducive to the study of the etiology of depression and the initiation of therapeutic. P300 also was studied widely in depression as a index of cognitive function, because most of patients with depression often are company with cognitive impairment. P300 waveform is the most widely used component of event-related brain potential (ERP), which is related to cognitive information processing, including working memory, attention and executive function. As an electrophysiological indicator of cognitive activity, P300 is non-invasive, inexpensive, convenient, and free of cultural and educational bias. Because of its high temporal resolution, P300 is more sensitive to cognitive changes than traditional neuropsychological tests and can provide insight into cognitive processes.

This paper presents a novel learning framework to generate fine-grained temporal cultivation knowledge from large climatic sensor data. Compared with human-experience based control, the machine-learned cultivation knowledge can provide precise climatic descriptions in temporal domain during the growth of plants. In the paper, the temporal characteristics of the sensor data are analyzed with heat maps in different temporal aspects. A merging algorithm on temporal segments, which are initialized with respect to the regularity of the heat maps, is designed to create climatic labels. Then the training samples consisting of temporal attributes and climatic labels are constructed for knowledge learning, which is represented as a collection of tree-structured classifiers. The experiments are carried out on the cultivation of a valuable Chinese herbal medicine. A cultivation knowledge cube in month, day and hour dimensions is illustrated. The results show that about 80% climatic conditions in the past successful cases can be duplicated to guide the future artificial cultivation by our method. The framework can also be applied to learn the knowledge of cultivation practices for other plants.

To some extent, melancholia in different Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Syndromes represents different "subtypes" of depression. Whether bipolar depression or general depression, whether accompanied with or without psychotic symptoms, or with or without cognitive impairment, there are clinical and possible biological differences in these depressions, which indicates that different "subtypes" of depression represented by different TCM syndromes not only are different clinical syndromes, but also imply that there may be some biomarkers. The melancholia with liver depression and stagnation is different from melancholia with deficiency of both heart and spleen in clinical symptoms, which may indicate that there are differences in some potential biological biomarkers. For example, central nervous transmitters, trace elements, electrophysiology, neuroendocrinology, brain imaging, and even genomics may differ among different TCM syndrome types of depression, which not only serves for the modernization of TCM, but also finds biological differences for different TCM syndrome types of depression.

Alarm systems play important roles for the safe and efficient operation of modern industrial plants. Critical alarms are configured with a higher priority and are safety related among many other alarms. If critical alarms can be predicted in advance, the operator will have more time to prevent them from happening. In this paper, we present a dynamic alarm prediction algorithm, which is a probabilistic model that utilizes alarm data from distributed control system, to calculate the occurrence probability of critical alarms. It accounts for the local interdependences among the alarms using the n-gram model, which occur because of the nonlinear relationships between variables. Finally, the dynamic alarm prediction algorithm is applied to an industrial case study.

Objective: to analyze the distribution characteristics and composition ratio of Chinese medicine syndrome in manic disease from the published literature on the combined treatment of manic mania by Chinese and Western medicine. Methods: to collect literature from Chinese database, to analyze and classify the cases that meet the standard combined treatment of Chinese and Western medicine, analyze the distribution of different syndromes and composition ratio. Results: 1385 cases were studied. Among them, 48.95% were phlegm fire disturbance to the mind, 20.50% were stagnation of phlegm and heat, 12.37% were liver and gall depression heat, 10.76% were qi stagnation and blood stasis, and 7.51% were fire injury Yin. Conclusion: The first three syndrome can cover more than 80% of the proportion. The contribution degree of the first three is also higher.

In this paper, our research works are reported from requirement management to functional design, from automatic function-to-form mapping to shape decomposition and synthesizing, from traditional AI technologies to geometric reasoning etc. It is concluded that, management of creative process is the key issue to develop creative computational design tools; and the modelling of design tools could facilitate the creative thought processes. Several packages of design tools have been developed to testify creativity in design practices, and the relationship between creativity and automation.

A design method of function-to-form mapping is proposed for spiral bevel gear. The rules are established. The mathematical model of tooth surface of the spiral bevel gear is deduced, the boundary of the tooth surface is determined. The intelligent design system of spiral bevel gears is developed on a commercial CAD software SINOVATION. The surface deviation method is used to test the solid model of the spiral bevel gear. The results show that the tooth surface model is accurate, the modeling method are feasible, intelligent and efficient.

Stability property is the key index for converter control. A practical stable control scheme is proposed for DC power supply converters. Firstly, the converter system is described as a linear model with two constraints, one is that the input is discontinuous and it is a Finite Control Set (FCS), the other is that the switching frequency is limited. Secondly, a unified control design method satisfied the constraints to guarantee the practical stability and convergence called sampling point equivalence scheme is introduced, which is illustrated as the duty cycle feedback control in form. Then the relationship between the convergent zone and the sampling time is analyzed, which is also the character of practical stability. The DC-DC buck converter is chosen as the plant to show the proposed methods, which are finally validated by both simulation and experiments.

Cr2AlC powders were successfully synthesized by molten salt method using Cr, Al and C as starting materials. The effects of the process parameters and amount of Al addition on the purity of the Cr2AlC powders were also investigated in details. The formation mechanism of Cr2AlC powders was investigated by XRD and DSC. The results indicated that intermediates of Cr7C3 and Cr- Al intermetallics, such as CrAl17, Cr2Al, Cr2Al8, were formed by the reactions among the initial elements, then the intermediates gradually transformed to Cr2AlC. From the fixed composition of Cr:Al:C = 2:1.2:1, high purity Cr2AlC powders could be obtained with an inorganic salt KCl as a solvent at 1250 degrees C for 60 min under argon atmosphere which was lower than that (generally 1450 degrees C) of conventional solid state reaction.

Salinity is an important abiotic stress that severely depresses plant growth and development. Plants have evolved salinity tolerance mechanisms to enable adaptation to hostile environments. Generally, metabolic networks must be reconfigured to maintain metabolic homeostasis and to mitigate the stress. However, the mechanisms of plant stress-response systems are incompletely understood, which represents a bottleneck for further use of salinity-tolerant plants. Through its capability to provide both an overview and detailed analysis of changes in metabolic pathways, metabolomics has been widely applied to research plants’ stress resistance. In this study a metabolomics approach was adopted to describe changes in the metabolic profile of Nitraria tangutorum Bobr. suspension cells under salinity stress. Four salinity treatments (100, 150, 200, and 250 mM NaCl) were applied and liquid medium lacking NaCl was used as the control. After culture for 4 days, salinity stress affected the biomass, cell morphology, and osmotic potential of the suspension cells. Totals of 373 and 629 peaks were detected by gas chromatography/time-of-flight mass spectrometry in the aqueous phase and organic phase, respectively. Metabolic profiling differences were visualized by partial least squares-discriminant analysis models to highlight the changes in metabolic pathways under salinity stress. Twenty-six metabolites that showed differences in content were identified, including sugars, amino acids, and fatty acids. This research provides novel insights into the complex of metabolic pathways involved in the synthesis of stress-related metabolites, and of the salinity-tolerance mechanism in N. tangutorum suspension cells.

Nitraria sibirica Pall., a typical halophyte of great ecological value, is widely distributed in desert, saline, and coastal saline-alkali environments. Consequently, researching the salt tolerance mechanism of N. sibirica Pall. has great significance to the cultivation and utilization of salt-tolerant plants. In this research, RNA-seq, digital gene expression (DGE), and high flux element analysis technologies were used to investigate the molecular and physiological mechanisms related to salt tolerance of N. sibirica Pall. Integrative analysis and de novo transcriptome assembly generated 137,421 unigenes. In total, 58,340 and 34,033 unigenes were annotated with gene ontology (GO) terms and mapped in Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathways, respectively. Three differentially expressed genes (DEGs) libraries were subsequently constructed from the leaves of N. sibirica Pall. seedlings under different treatments: control (CK), light short-term salt stress (CL2), and heavy long-term salt stress (CL6). Eight hundred and twenty-six, and 224 differentially expressed genes were identified in CL2 and CL6 compared to CK, respectively. Finally, ionomic analysis of N. sibirica Pall. seedlings treated with 0, 100, 200 or 300 mM concentrations of NaCl for one day showed that the uptake and distribution of Ca, Cu, Fe, Mg and K in different organs of N. sibirica Pall. were significantly affected by salt stress. Our findings have identified potential genes involved in salt tolerance and in the reference transcriptome and have revealed the salt tolerance mechanism in N. sibirica Pall. These findings will provide further insight into the molecular and physiological mechanisms related to salt stress in N. sibirica Pall. and in other halophytes.

Chemical processes frequently operate upon a multitude of steady states and transitions between these states are inevitable. Unfortunately, transitions are exactly where alarm floods often occur. Alarm floods cause critical alarms overwhelmed and thus increase the probability of larger safety issues. Existing techniques for the design of alarm systems mostly focus on one steady state of operation and yet cannot effectively deal with alarm floods during transitions. In this paper, a dynamic alarm management strategy is proposed for controlling alarm floods during transitions of chemical processes. In this strategy, the artificial immune system-based fault diagnosis (AISFD) method and a Bayesian estimation based dynamic alarm management (BEDAM) method are integrated. During transitions, dynamic alarm limits obtained by the BEDAM method can control alarm floods. However, if a process fault occurs during transitions, a flood of alarms could still be yielded. To generate useful alarms in fault situations, an artificial immune system based on dynamic time warping (DTW) is used for fault detection and diagnosis. Finally, in case studies, the dynamic alarm management strategy is applied to the startup stage and a throughput change transition in a pilot-scale distillation column.

Online fault diagnosis is one of the most important methods to ensure stability and safety in many chemical processes. In this work, a lab-scale distillation process is designed and built for fault diagnosis study, and the online fault diagnosis system (OFDS) is developed with a distributed control system (DCS) system and a real-time database. Artificial neural networks (ANNs) are used for startup state judgment and for fault detection in the steady state, while the dynamic artificial immune system (DAIS) is used for fault detection in the startup phase and for fault identification in both the startup phase and the steady state. The results of case studies clearly illustrate that the developed system is efficient in online fault diagnosis of distillation processes during the full operating cycle, especially when the number of historical fault samples is limited. FPGA test cost can be reduced effectively by minimizing the number of test configurations. To realize it, a self-configurable structure was proposed before to test the cross-point-based switch box in FPGA. In this paper, a technique of partially self-configurable multiplexers is presented to reduce the test cost of completely multiplexer-based FPGA interconnect cost-efficiently. The additional self-configured structure, called test point here, is only added to the most efficient configuration ports, which is selected through analyzing test configurations, so the test cost can reduce with the minimal area overhead. It is shown that for testing all interconnect stuck-at faults in FPGAs like Virtex-II and Spartan-3 the test configurations can be reduced to 8 with merely about 1.2% area penalty.

Background: Major depressive disorder is a prevalent and disabling illnessv, approximately 70% of patients do not remit after first-line antidepressant treatment, and about 20% develop to treatment-resistant depression(TRD). Treatment of TRD have been one of clinical problems. Adjunctive valprovate was a most sued ways for treatment of TRD. The magnesium valproate was common drug for both episode and bipolar disorder in China and also was used for TRD. To systematically evaluate the difference in efficacy of magnesium valproate and antidepressants for therapy of treatment-resistant depression(TRD) in China. Methods: Searches were applied to the following electronic databases in china: Chinese Biomedical Database (CBM), China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), WANFANG and Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index (VIP) databases. A total of 13 RCTs were included. A meta-analysis was performed of all the literatures germane to estimate the treatment-resistant depression patients treated with magnesium valproate combination with antidepressants and only antidepressants randomized controlled trials (RCTs) from 2010 to 2015. Odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated and the meta-analysis was conducted with Revman4.2 software. Results: A total of 13 RCTs were included for meta-analysis. The results of meta-analysis demonstrated by effective rate and depressive symptoms change between two groups of combination treatment with magnesium valproate and only antidepressant. The effective rate was higher in magnesium valproate combination with antidepressants group than that in antidepressants group(81/306, 35/298, Z=4.60, P=0.00001). A new strategy based on a windlass device is proposed to deal with the terminal descent of a lunar soft landing mission in this paper. The lunar lander considered here consists of a rover and an assist module (AM) which is equipped with three decelerating thrusters and a lateral thruster. The rover and the AM are connected by a tether (mass is negligible) which winds around the windlass. The dynamics of the terminal descent process is modeled. The guidance laws for the terminal descent phase are derived. Both fuel optimality and lander safety are considered. The design of the terminal guidance laws in this paper are separated into three stages: firstly, finding the activation point of the decelerating thrusters to minimize fuel consumption; secondly, determining the tensile force of the tether for deployment; and finally, designing the tether’s tensile force to make the rover track the desired velocity-altitude profile. The proposed soft landing strategy needs only the measurements of altitude and vertical velocity. Therefore, it is easy to implement. It effectively prevents the decelerating thrusters’ plume from damaging the lander due to ground interference. Moreover, it is robust against the uncertainties of initial altitude and vertical velocity. Numerical simulation results illustrate the feasibility of the proposed soft landing strategy.

Chemical process industries often suffer from abnormal events of varying magnitudes, which may lead to different consequences, including incipient faults, near-miss, incidents, and accidents. Typically, when an abnormal event occurs, various safety systems, such as alarm systems and safety instrumented systems (SIS), come into play to prevent the event from propagating. To improve process safety, estimation of the failure probabilities of safety systems and probabilities of corresponding consequences are extremely important and should receive more attention. Risk analysis techniques, such as event tree analysis, have been used popularly for this purpose. However they suffer limitations of static structures and dependencies among events, which affect the performance of safety system analysis. In this paper, Bayesian network (BN) for dynamic risk analysis is proposed. BN is a probabilistic approach to modeling and representation of influences between safety systems. In a BN model, causal relationships reflect dependencies among safety systems represented as nodes. After building the BN causal structure, we estimate the parameters of the network, namely, the failure probabilities of safety systems and probabilities of corresponding consequences, using alarm data of alarm systems. In addition, advantages of BNs for dynamic risk analysis are discussed. Finally dynamic risk analysis using BNs is applied to a case study to show its performance.

Previously, we presented an on-axis linear-response linear-motion optical scanner. While the linear design is highly desired for engineering consideration, it was still lacking the scanning speed required for imaging applications. We here present a customized profile lens (CPL), tailored for high speed performance while maintaining the advantages of a linear response on-axis optical scanner. The device was built and tested experimentally on an optical bench. The test results demonstrate precise linear response and fast scanning speed, and revealed video frame rate scanning ability. The implementation of the CPLs in laser scanning systems is promising in improving the current 3D laser scanning microscopy systems by reducing the size, error, and complexity of the system, as well as other systems unitizing high speed laser scanning technique.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a class of endogenous small RNAs with important roles in plant growth, development, and environmental stress responses. Ulmus pumila L., a deciduous broadleaved tree species of northern temperate regions, is widely distributed in central and northern Asia and has important economic and ecological value. With the spread and aggravation of soil salinization, salt stress has become a major abiotic stress affecting the normal growth and development of U. pumila. However, the influence of salt stress on U. pumila miRNA expression has not been investigated. To identify miRNAs and predict their target mRNA genes under salt stress, three small RNA libraries were generated and sequenced from roots of U. pumila seedlings treated with various concentrations of NaCl corresponding to no salt stress, light short-term salt stress, and medium-heavy long-term salt stress. Integrative analysis identified 254 conserved miRNAs representing 29 families and 49 novel miRNAs; 232 potential targets of the miRNAs were also predicted. Expression profiling of miRNAs between libraries was performed, and the expression of six miRNAs was validated by quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). Our findings provide an overview of potential miRNAs and corresponding targets involved in regulating U. pumila salt defense responses. These results lay the foundation for further research into molecular mechanisms involved in salt stress resistance in U. pumila and other Ulmaceae species.

Neonatal jaundice could occur in most neonates and phototherapy is one of the most important therapeutic methods. The optical system of neonatal jaundice phototherapy apparatus based on LED was reported in this paper. Modeling and simulation of fly-eye lens which could be used to generate uniform illumination has been conducted and parameters have been optimized. The simulation results show that in the illuminated region the luminous uniformity is better than 85%. Based on the simulation results, an optimizing design of the optical system based on LED was achieved, which could be widely used for home phototherapy in treating uncomplicated neonatal jaundice for its feasibility, safety and effectiveness.

At present E-commerce system tends to become more complex, and traditional system designing methods can not fufil the need of E-commerce system, thus requiring an effective methodas solution. With this concern, this paper introduces some concepts of component technology, then brings forward the new connotation and basic features of component technology through the analysis of its technological character. This paper finally discusses the application of component technology to E-commerce system.

China is the only country in the world with continuous ancient civilization whose history can be traced for more than 5000 years. With the rapid development of remote sensing, abundant remote sensing data of the same site by different remote sensors are available at the same time. How to make full use of these data and extract the useful information is one of the problems that have puzzled the remote sensing archaeological researchers. Data fusion provides effective means for remote sensing archaeology to recognize the archaeological sites. The article selected the SPOT5 data, used the HSV transformation method, Brovey transformation method, Gram-Schmidt, Pansharping, Wavelet, PCA transformation method, HPF and Ehlers method and employed the quantitative evaluating indexes both from spatial and spectral information aspects to evaluate the fusion results, which were processed in the MATLAB. The results show that the fusion images by wavelet, PCA transformation method and GS transformation method have reserved the spectral information better; the Pansharping, Brovey and HSV methods can enrich the spatial information and enhance the contrast of features. Through evaluation, the Pansharping method shows the rich textural details that improved the archaeological site recognition best in Liangzhu ancient city. There is no denying that the fusion methods can enhance the information to different degrees, but an optimal fusion method should be employed according to the specific archaeological site. By data fusion, better understanding of the site extent, structure and organization may well be achieved.

In this paper, we employ the data de-duplication technology to detect the duplicate data in the process of data replication. By avoiding duplicate data, data replication reduces the quantity of data transmission, and save the replication I/O bandwidth. In additional, the data consistency has been guaranteed in the same time. The work is a part of our project which is to build a wide-area disaster recovery system.
