The superconducting analogue to the semiconducting diode, the Josephson diode, has long been sought with multiple avenues to realization being proposed by theorists1–3. Showing magnetic-field-free, single-directional superconductivity with Josephson coupling, it would serve as the building block for next-generation superconducting circuit technology. Here we realized the Josephson diode by fabricating an inversion symmetry breaking van der Waals heterostructure of NbSe2/Nb3Br8/NbSe2. We demonstrate that even without a magnetic field, the junction can be superconducting with a positive current while being resistive with a negative current. The ΔIc behaviour (the difference between positive and negative critical currents) with magnetic field is symmetric and Josephson coupling is proved through the Fraunhofer pattern. Also, stable half-wave rectification of a square-wave excitation was achieved with a very low switching current density, high rectification ratio and high robustness. This non-reciprocal behaviour strongly violates the known Josephson relations and opens the door to discover new mechanisms and physical phenomena through integration of quantum materials with Josephson junctions, and provides new avenues for superconducting quantum devices.

Intestinal ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) may induce cell/tissue injuries, leading to multiple organ failure. Based on our preexperiments, we proposed that sesamin could protect against and ameliorate intestinal I/R injuries and related disorders with involvement of activating Nrf2 signaling pathway. This proposal was evaluated using SD intestinal I/R injury rats in vivo and hypoxia/reoxygenation- (H/R-) injured rat small intestinal crypt epithelial cell line (IEC-6 cells) in vitro. Sesamin significantly alleviated I/R-induced intestinal histopathological injuries and significantly reduced serum biochemical indicators ALT and AST, alleviating I/R-induced intestinal injury in rats. Sesamin also significantly reversed I/R-increased TNF-α, IL-6, IL-1β, and MPO activity in serum and MDA in tissues and I/R-decreased GSH in tissues and SOD in both tissues and IEC-6 cells, indicating its anti-inflammatory and antioxidative stress effects. Further, sesamin significantly decreased TUNEL-positive cells, downregulated the increased Bax and caspase-3 protein expression, upregulated the decreased protein expression of Bcl-2 in I/R-injured intestinal tissues, and significantly reversed H/R-reduced IEC-6 cell viability as well as reduced the number of apoptotic cells among H/R-injured IEC-6 cell, showing antiapoptotic effects. Activation of Nrf2 is known to ameliorate tissue/cell injuries. Consistent with sesamin-induced ameliorations of both intestinal I/R injuries and H/R injuries, transfection of Nrf2 cDNA significantly upregulated the expression of Nrf2, HO-1, and NQO1, respectively. On the contrary, either Nrf2 inhibitor (ML385) or Nrf2 siRNA transfection significantly decreased the expression of these proteins. Our results suggest that activation of the Nrf2/HO-1/NQO1 signaling pathway is involved in sesamin-induced anti-inflammatory, antioxidative, and antiapoptotic effects in protection against and amelioration of intestinal I/R injuries.

Background Breast cancer (BC) poses serious threats to women’s health. A large number of reports have proved that circular RNAs (circRNAs) exert vital functions in human cancers, including BC. Methods The function of circPDSS1 in BC cells was tested by CCK-8, colony formation, TUNEL, transwell-invasion, wound healing, and IF assays. RNA pull down, luciferase reporter and RIP assays were employed to verify the relationship among circPDSS1, miR-320c and CKAP5. Results CircPDSS1 was upregulated in BC cells, and circPDSS1 knockdown repressed BC cell malignant behaviors. Further, circPDSS1 was found to bind to miR-320c in BC cells, and miR-320c overexpression suppressed malignant processes of BC cells. MiR-320c could also bind to CKAP5. Moreover, miR-320c inhibition increased the level of CKAP5, but circPDSS1 downregulation decreased the level of CKAP5. Finally, rescue experiments indicated that CKAP5 knockdown countervailed the promoting effect of miR-320c inhibition on the malignant behaviors of circPDSS1-depleted BC cells. Conclusions CircPDSS1 promotes proliferation, invasion, migration as well as EMT of BC cells by modulating miR-320c/CKAP5 axis. Our finding may be useful for researchers to find new potential therapeutic or diagnostic targets for BC.

Passing a supercurrent through a topological material can highlight the existence of higher-order boundary states, and may lead to applications in topological superconductivity.

The Kagome lattice is an important fundamental structure in condensed matter physics for investigating the interplay of electron correlation, topology, and frustrated magnetism. Recent work on Kagome metals in the AV3Sb5 (A = K, Rb, and Cs) family has shown a multitude of correlation-driven distortions, including symmetry breaking charge density waves and nematic superconductivity at low temperatures. Here, we study the new Kagome metal Yb0.5Co3Ge3 and find a temperature-dependent kink in the resistivity that is highly similar to the AV3Sb5 behavior and is commensurate with an in-plane structural distortion of the Co Kagome lattice along with a doubling of the c-axis. The symmetry is lower below the transition temperature, with a breaking the in-plane mirror planes and C6 rotation, while gaining a screw axis along the c-direction. At very low temperatures, anisotropic negative magnetoresistance is observed, which may be related to anisotropic magnetism. This raises questions about the types of the distortions in Kagome nets and their resulting physical properties including superconductivity and magnetism.

Recently, long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been reported as a new kind of controllers about cancer processes in biology. In spite of the dysregulation of lncRNAs in various kinds of cancers, only a little of the information was effective on the expression configuration and inner effects of lncRNAs in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). This study valued the expression of lncRNA SOX21-AS1 and the biological role it played in TNBC. In our research, SOX21-AS1 had a high expression in TNBC cell lines. The functional experiments showed that knockdown of SOX21-AS1 obviously restrained cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition process and promoted cell apoptosis. Mechanistically, SOX21-AS1 was found to bind with miR-520a-5p. Besides, ORMDL3 was identified as a downstream target of miR-520a-5p, and the suppressed ORMDL3 expression induced by silenced SOX21-AS1 could be restored by miR-520a-5p inhibition. Further, data from rescue assays revealed that SOX21-AS1 could regulate the malignancy of TNBC via miR-520a-5p/ORMDL3 axis. All in all, we identified that SOX21-AS1 regulated the cellular process of TNBC cells via antagonizing miR-520a-5p availability to upregulate ORMDL3 expression.

At present, the oestrogens detected in the environment have been classified as group 1 carcinogens by the World Health Organization. They have obvious effects on organisms at extremely low environmental concentration (1.0 ng/L) and easily accumulate in the ecosystem, which has adverse effects on the environment and ecological health. The use of microbial degradation to remove steroid estrogens from polluted environments has received increasing attention. In this study, a bacterium capable of degrading 17β-estradiol was isolated from a sewage treatment plant in Jilin, China, and identified as Serratia nematodiphila DH-S01. The results of degradation experiments showed that after culturing the bacteria for 4 days, the degradation rate of oestrone and 17β-estradiol at 15 mg/L reached 93.47% and 93.2%, respectively. Genome-wide sequencing showed that the genome of strain DH-S01 consists of a single circular chromosome, 5,256,558 bp in length, which contains 4,874 predicted coding genes. Based on genome annotation, high abundance genes are related to the metabolism of terpenoids and polyketides. Nine types of sterol- and oestrogen-degrading enzymes were annotated in this strain, and the existence and expression of the enzymes were analyzed by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Comparative genomic analysis showed that there are genes encoding eight enzymes in the common genes of the four Serratia strains, highlighting the potential of the other three Serratia strains to degrade steroid estrogen.

Urbanization has dramatically changed the quality and quantity of dissolved organic matter (DOM) fluxes in rivers, thereby affecting the diversity and lifestyle strategies of microbial communities. However, relationships between DOM molecular composition and microbial lifestyle strategies in effluent-dominated rivers are poorly understood. Herein, we investigated the variations in DOM structure and composition of an effluent-dominated river and further revealed how these changes alter the abundance and lifestyle strategies of microbial communities. Results demonstrated that macromolecular (MW 35 kDa) humic-like substances constituted the major components of effluent-dominated riverine DOM. Also, due to the degradation of humic-like substances, the accumulation of protein-like substances was observed from upstream to downstream areas, corresponding to an apparent decrease in overall aromaticity. The abundance of bacterial, Actinobacteria, and eukaryotic was higher in the upstream and midstream areas but relatively lower in the downstream area. The response of bacterial and Actinobacteria communities to the changes in DOM composition was more prominent as compared to that of eukaryotic. Based on multivariate statistical analysis, the decrease in aromatic components (MW 35 kDa) was mainly attributed to the degradation of Proteobacteria and Actinobacteria (K-strategists), resulting in a decrease in their relative abundance along the river course. Proteins and polysaccharides (15 kDa MW 35 kDa, MW 6 kDa) were more easily utilized by Firmicutes and Bacteroidetes (r-strategists), leading to an increase in their relative abundance. With the decrease of macromolecular humic-like substances and the increase of protein-like substances, river microbial communities shifted from K-strategists to r-strategists. This work unveils the evolution of DOM in an effluent-dominated river and the influence of the degradation of macromolecular humic-like substances on r/K-strategists.

Defect engineering plays an important role in tailoring the electronic transport properties of van der Waals materials. Methods reported so far mainly rely on the $e\phantom{\rule{0}{0ex}}x\phantom{\rule{0.333em}{0ex}}s\phantom{\rule{0}{0ex}}i\phantom{\rule{0}{0ex}}t\phantom{\rule{0}{0ex}}u$ engineering of defect type and concentration, hindering the realization of new types of device functionalities associated with defect engineering. Here, the authors report temperature-sensitive spatial redistribution of defects in PdSe${}_{2}$ thin flakes through scanning tunneling microscopy. The spatial characteristics of defect distribution is strongly related to the electronic transport properties such as anisotropic carrier mobility and phase coherent length, indicating a different avenue for creating novel device functionalities based on $i\phantom{\rule{0}{0ex}}n\phantom{\rule{0.333em}{0ex}}s\phantom{\rule{0}{0ex}}i\phantom{\rule{0}{0ex}}t\phantom{\rule{0}{0ex}}u$ modulation of defect distribution.

Maintaining the rapid development of information technology by scaling down a metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor faces two serious challenges. First, the gate field loses control of the channel as it continuously decreases. Second, the fundamental thermionic limit restricts the reduction in supply voltage. Thus, further scaling down necessitates alternative device structures and different switching mechanisms. Here, we report impact-ionization transistors (IITs) based on nanoscale (∼30 nm) vertical graphene/black phosphorus (BP)/indium selenide (InSe) heterostructures. By facilitating the carrier multiplication of the ballistic impact-ionization process as the internal gain mechanism in sub-mean-free-path (sub-MFP) channels, the IITs exhibit a low average subthreshold swing (SS1 mV/dec) over five current levels. High stability (10 000 cycles) and small hysteresis (1%) switching properties are also obtained. The experimental demonstration of such transistor combining steep SS, high ON-state current density, reliable robustness, miniature footprint, and low bias voltage approaches fulfillments of targets for next-generation devices in the International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors.

Layered metal chalcogenide materials provide a versatile platform to investigate emergent phenomena and two-dimensional (2D) superconductivity at/near the atomically thin limit. In particular, gate-induced interfacial superconductivity realized by the use of an electric-double-layer transistor (EDLT) has greatly extended the capability to electrically induce superconductivity in oxides, nitrides and transition metal chalcogenides and enable one to explore new physics, such as the Ising pairing mechanism. Exploiting gate-induced superconductivity in various materials can provide us with additional platforms to understand emergent interfacial superconductivity. Here, we report the discovery of gate-induced 2D superconductivity in layered 1T-SnSe2, a typical member of the main-group metal dichalcogenide (MDC) family, using an EDLT gating geometry. A superconducting transition temperature Tc around 3.9 K was demonstrated at the EDL interface. The 2D nature of the superconductivity therein was further confirmed based on 1) a 2D Tinkham description of the angle-dependent upper critical field, 2) the existence of a quantum creep state as well as a large ratio of the coherence length to the thickness of superconductivity. Interestingly, the in-plane approaching zero temperature was found to be 2-3 times higher than the Pauli limit, which might be related to an electric field-modulated spin-orbit interaction. Superconductors at the atomic two-dimensional limit are the focus of an enduring fascination in the condensed matter community. This is because, with reduced dimensions, the effects of disorders, fluctuations, and correlations in superconductors become particularly prominent at the atomic two-dimensional limit; thus such superconductors provide opportunities to tackle tough theoretical and experimental challenges. Here, based on the observation of ultrathin two-dimensional superconductivity in monolayer and bilayer molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) with electric-double-layer gating, we found that the critical sheet carrier density required to achieve superconductivity in a monolayer MoS2 flake can be as low as 0.55 × 1014 cm−2, which is much lower than those values in the bilayer and thicker cases in previous report and also our own observations. Further comparison of the phonon dispersion obtained by ab initio calculations indicated that the phonon softening of the acoustic modes around the M point plays a key role in the gate-induced superconductivity within the Bardeen–Cooper–Schrieffer theory framework. This result might help enrich the understanding of two-dimensional superconductivity with electric-double-layer gating. Experiments show that a softening of phonon modes aids gate-induced superconductivity in two-dimensional materials. As a material’s dimensions are reduced, the role of disorder and electronic correlations in defining the electronic properties become more prominent, and as the density of charge carriers is much lower, superconductivity is less likely to emerge. An international team of researchers led by Feng Mio and Baigeng Wang from Nanjing University and Harold Hwang from SLAC National Accelerator laboratory and Stanford University use an ionic liquid-based setup, which allows for high gate voltages to be applied, to demonstrate gate-induced superconductivity in monolayers and bilayers of a transition metal dichalcogenide. They show that a softening of the acoustic phonon modes allows for superconductivity to be realized in single layers with a lower carrier density than that needed in multilayers.

Breast cancer (BC) is the most common malignant tumor among women, with high morbidity and mortality. Its onset, development, metastasis, and prognosis vary among individuals due to the interactions between tumors and host immunity. Many diverse mechanisms have been associated with BC, with immune evasion being the most widely studied to date. Tumor cells can escape from the body’s immune response, which targets abnormal components and foreign bodies, using different approaches including modification of surface antigens and modulation of the surrounding environment. In this review, we summarize the mechanisms and factors that impact the immunoediting process and analyze their functions in detail.

Since the discovery of extremely large nonsaturating magnetoresistance (MR) in WTe

Since the discovery of extremely large non-saturating magnetoresistance (MR) in WTe2, much effort has been devoted to understanding the underlying mechanism, which is still under debate. Here, we explicitly identify the dominant physical origin of the large non-saturating MR through in-situ tuning of the magneto-transport properties in thin WTe2 film. With an electrostatic doping approach, we observed a non-monotonic gate dependence of the MR. The MR reaches a maximum (10600%) in thin WTe2 film at certain gate voltage where electron and hole concentrations are balanced, indicating that the charge compensation is the dominant mechanism of the observed large MR. Besides, we show that the temperature dependent magnetoresistance exhibits similar tendency with the carrier mobility when the charge compensation is retained, revealing that distinct scattering mechanisms may be at play for the temperature dependence of magneto-transport properties. Our work would be helpful for understanding mechanism of the large MR in other nonmagnetic materials and offers an avenue for achieving large MR in the non-magnetic materials with electron-hole pockets., 16 pages, 3 figures, accepted by Nano Letters

Due to the non-trivial topological band structure in type-II Weyl semimetal Tungsten ditelluride (WTe2), unconventional properties may emerge in its superconducting phase. While realizing intrinsic superconductivity has been challenging in the type-II Weyl semimetal WTe2, proximity effect may open an avenue for the realization of superconductivity. Here, we report the observation of proximity-induced superconductivity with a long coherence length along c axis in WTe2 thin flakes based on a WTe2/NbSe2 van der Waals heterostructure. Interestingly, we also observe anomalous oscillations of the differential resistance during the transition from superconducting to normal state. Theoretical calculations show excellent agreement with experimental results, revealing that such a sub-gap anomaly is the intrinsic property of WTe2 in superconducting state induced by the proximity effect. Our findings enrich the understanding of superconducting phase of type-II Weyl semimetals, and pave the way for their future applications in topological quantum computing., Comment: 20 pages, 4 figures

Metallic transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) have exhibited various exotic physical properties and hold the promise of novel optoelectronic and topological devices applications. However, the synthesis of metallic TMDs is based on gas-phase methods and requires high temperature condition. As an alternative to the gas-phase synthetic approach, lower temperature eutectic liquid-phase synthesis presents a very promising approach with the potential for larger-scale and controllable growth of high-quality thin metallic TMDs single crystals. Herein, we report the first realization of low-temperature eutectic liquid-phase synthesis of type-II Dirac semimetal PtTe2 single crystals with thickness ranging from 2 to 200 nm. The electrical measurement of synthesized PtTe2 reveals a record-high conductivity of as high as 3.3*106 S/m at room temperature. Besides, we experimentally identify the weak antilocalization behavior in the type-II Dirac semimetal PtTe2 for the first time. Furthermore, we develop a simple and general strategy to obtain atomically-thin PtTe2 crystal by thinning as-synthesized bulk samples, which can still retain highly crystalline and exhibits excellent electric conductivity. Our results of controllable and scalable low-temperature eutectic liquid-phase synthesis and layer-by-layer thinning of high-quality thin PtTe2 single crystals offer a simple and general approach for obtaining different thickness metallic TMDs with high-melting point transition metal.

The progress in exploiting new electronic materials has been a major driving force in solid-state physics. As a new state of matter, a Weyl semimetal (WSM), in particular a type-II WSM, hosts Weyl fermions as emergent quasiparticles and may harbour novel electrical transport properties. Nevertheless, such a type-II WSM material has not been experimentally observed. In this work, by performing systematic magneto-transport studies on thin films of a predicted material candidate WTe2, we observe notable negative longitudinal magnetoresistance, which can be attributed to the chiral anomaly in WSM. This phenomenon also exhibits strong planar orientation dependence with the absence along the tungsten chains, consistent with the distinctive feature of a type-II WSM. By applying a gate voltage, we demonstrate that the Fermi energy can be in-situ tuned through the Weyl points via the electric field effect. Our results may open opportunities for implementing new electronic applications, such as field-effect chiral devices., Controllable electric transport of topological particles in solid state systems hold the key towards novel electronic applications. The progress in exploiting new electronic materials and devices has been a major driving force in solid-state physics. As a new state of matter, a Weyl semimetal (WSM), particularly a type-II WSM, hosts Weyl fermions as emergent quasiparticles and may harbor novel electrical transport properties because of the exotic Fermi surface. Nevertheless, such a type-II WSM material has not been experimentally observed in nature. In this work, by performing systematic magneto-transport studies on thin films of a predicted material candidate WTe2, we observe notable angle-sensitive (between the electric and magnetic fields) negative longitudinal magnetoresistance (MR), which can likely be attributed to the chiral anomaly in WSM. This phenomenon also exhibits strong planar orientation dependence with the absence of negative longitudinal MR along the tungsten chains (a axis), which is consistent with the distinctive feature of a type-II WSM. By applying a gate voltage, we demonstrate that the Fermi energy can be tuned through the Weyl points via the electric field effect; this is the first report of controlling the unique transport properties in situ in a WSM system. Semiconducting two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides are emerging as top candidates for post-silicon electronics. While most of them exhibit isotropic behaviour, lowering the lattice symmetry could induce anisotropic properties, which are both scientifically interesting and potentially useful. Here we present atomically thin rhenium disulfide (ReS2) flakes with unique distorted 1T structure, which exhibit in-plane anisotropic properties. We fabricated monolayer and few-layer ReS2 field-effect transistors, which exhibit competitive performance with large current on/off ratios (∼107) and low subthreshold swings (100 mV per decade). The observed anisotropic ratio along two principle axes reaches 3.1, which is the highest among all known two-dimensional semiconducting materials. Furthermore, we successfully demonstrated an integrated digital inverter with good performance by utilizing two ReS2 anisotropic field-effect transistors, suggesting the promising implementation of large-scale two-dimensional logic circuits. Our results underscore the unique properties of two-dimensional semiconducting materials with low crystal symmetry for future electronic applications., Many two-dimensional materials exhibit isotropic properties, but anisotropy can extend the functionality of future devices. Two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides are emerging with tremendous potential in many optoelectronic applications due to their strong light-matter interactions. To fully explore their potential in photoconductive detectors, high responsivity and weak signal detection are required. Here, we present high responsivity phototransistors based on few-layer rhenium disulfide (ReS2). Depending on the back gate voltage, source drain bias and incident optical light intensity, the maximum attainable photoresponsivity can reach as high as 88,600 A W-1, which is a record value compared to other two-dimensional materials with similar device structures and two orders of magnitude higher than that of monolayer MoS2. Such high photoresponsivity is attributed to the increased light absorption as well as the gain enhancement due to the existence of trap states in the few-layer ReS2 flakes. It further enables the detection of weak signals, as successfully demonstrated with weak light sources including a lighter and limited fluorescent lighting. Lattice structure and symmetry of two-dimensional (2D) layered materials are of key importance to their fundamental mechanical, thermal, electronic and optical properties. Raman spectroscopy, as a convenient and nondestructive tool, however has its limitations on identifying all symmetry allowing Raman modes and determining the corresponding crystal structure of 2D layered materials with high symmetry like graphene and MoS2. Due to lower structural symmetry and extraordinary weak interlayer coupling of ReS2, we successfully identified all 18 first-order Raman active modes for bulk and monolayer ReS2. Without van der Waals (vdW) correction, our local density approximation (LDA) calculations successfully reproduce all the Raman modes. Our calculations also suggest no surface reconstruction effect and the absence of low frequency rigid-layer Raman modes below 100 cm-1. Mass spectrometry (MS) data has been widely analyzed for the detection of early stage cancers. Its potential for seeking proteomic biomarkers has received a great deal of attention in recent years. In the sparse representation classification (SRC) framework, a testing sample is represented as a sparse linear combination of training samples. The coefficient vector of representation is obtained by a l1-norm regularized least square method. Classification results are achieved by defining discriminant functions from the coefficient vector for each category. In this paper, a novel feature selection method based on SRC was proposed. To investigate its performance, the proposed methods was tested and evaluated on the ovarian cancer database OC-WCX2a and OC-WCX2b. The experimental results showed that SRC is efficient for tumor classification. Feature selection based on sparse representation (SRFS) can select highly predictive representative feature sets.

Protein mass spectrometry has become a popular tool for cancer diagnosis. Feature selection and classification techniques play an important role in the identification of protein biomarkers. In this paper, based on the protein spectrum of cancer classification, an efficient combination of wavelet features and Recursive Null Space LDA algorithm for feature selection is proposed. Firstly, the multi-resolution wavelet decomposition is used to extract the detail features of the protein spectrum data. Then, in order to reduce the dimension of the features, we use T-test for screening the data sets. Thirdly, the Recursive Null Space LDA algorithm is adopted to screen out the most discriminative protein features. Finally, according to the optimal feature set, we use nearest neighbor classifier to estimate the performance. The experimental results on public ovarian cancer data set OC-WCX2a show the promising performance of the proposed algorithm.

It is difficult for people to recognize currencies from different countries. Our aim is to help people solve this problem. However, currency recognition systems that are based on image analysis entirely are not sufficient. Our system is based on image processing and makes the process automatic and robust. We use SEK and Chinese RMB as examples to illustrate the technique. Color and shape information are used in our algorithm.

Protein mass spectrometry has become a popular tool for cancer diagnosis. This article describes a novel proteomic pattern analysis algorithm for tumor classification using SELDI-TOF mass spectrometry. Different from the traditional pattern analysis methods, sparse representation accepts a new frame. Firstly the MS data is preprocessed. Secondly, the proposed method seeks the sparse representation of test sample on training sample set. Then 2-fold cross validation is performed to evaluate classification ability. The proposed method was tested and evaluated in the ovarian cancer database OC-WCX2a, OC-WCX2b, prostate cancer database PC-H4. The experimental results show the good performance of sparse representation method.

With numerical calculations it is shown that in a Fibonacci superlattice, in a magnetic field parallel to the layers, the self-similarity in the length scale is reproduced in the energy-level structure. In particular, the cyclotron-orbit-center dispersion of the energy levels shows a field-dependent structure which is the same at values of the magnetic field, which are related by integer powers of \ensuremath{\tau}, the golden mean [(\ensuremath{\surd}5+1)/2]. The conditions for which this effect can be observed are discussed.

The anomalous Hall effect soars when Dirac quasiparticles meet frustrated magnetism., The anomalous Hall effect (AHE) is one of the most fundamental phenomena in physics. In the highly conductive regime, ferromagnetic metals have been the focus of past research. Here, we report a giant extrinsic AHE in KV3Sb5, an exfoliable, highly conductive semimetal with Dirac quasiparticles and a vanadium Kagome net. Even without report of long range magnetic order, the anomalous Hall conductivity reaches 15,507 Ω−1 cm−1 with an anomalous Hall ratio of ≈ 1.8%; an order of magnitude larger than Fe. Defying theoretical expectations, KV3Sb5 shows enhanced skew scattering that scales quadratically, not linearly, with the longitudinal conductivity, possibly arising from the combination of highly conductive Dirac quasiparticles with a frustrated magnetic sublattice. This allows the possibility of reaching an anomalous Hall angle of 90° in metals. This observation raises fundamental questions about AHEs and opens new frontiers for AHE and spin Hall effect exploration, particularly in metallic frustrated magnets.
