N→Δ transitions offer new possibilities for exploring the isovector component of the QCD quark angular momentum (AM) operator causing the Ju−d flavor asymmetry in the nucleon. We extend the concept of QCD AM to transitions between baryon states, using light-front densities of the energy-momentum tensor in transversely localized states. We calculate the N→Δ transition AM in the 1/Nc expansion, connect it with the Ju−d flavor asymmetry in the nucleon, and estimate the values using lattice QCD results. In the same setup we connect the transition AM to the transition GPDs sampled in hard exclusive electroproduction processes with N→Δ transitions, enabling experimental study of the transition AM.

The object of research is the processes of transport logistics management under the influence of non-stationary factors of different nature on the functioning of street-road networks (SRN) in cities. The task of dynamic routing at large and variable loading of SRN sections is solved by managing the processes of cargo delivery in real time within the framework of the implementation of the Smart Logistics concept. Simulation studies of cargo delivery routing with dynamic real-time route updating using a modified ant colony algorithm and data on the dynamics of traffic flow (TF) were conducted using an SRN in the city of Kyiv as an example. Here, experimental data were obtained using motion sensors of intelligent transport systems. During the optimization, current data were used acquired online within the framework of the Internet of Things technology, as well as historical data obtained over past periods of time and averaged using Big Data (BD) technology. Route optimization at each stage of real-time updates was achieved using a modified ant colony algorithm. This method has a sufficiently high optimization performance and makes it possible, unlike many other intelligent methods, to directly take into account the non-stationary dynamics of TF within SRN. It is shown that the use of properly averaged BD historical data allows for more efficient planning of transport routes. The simulation studies indicate the possibility of using the proposed approach by transport companies and authorities to solve the problems of managing logistics flows in an automated mode under conditions of complex, unpredictable traffic, Об'єктом дослідження є процеси управління транспортною логістикою під впливом нестаціонарних чинників різної природи на функціонування вулично-дорожніх мереж (ВДМ) міст. Києва. Тут експериментальні дані отримані за допомогою датчиків руху інтелектуальних транспортних систем. При проведенні оптимізації використовувались поточні дані, що отримувались в онлайн режимі в рамках технології Інтернету речей і історичні дані, отримані за минулі проміжки часу та усередненні з використанням технології великих даних (BD). Оптимізація маршруту на кожному етапі оновлення в реальному режимі часу досягалась за допомогою модифікованого алгоритму мурашиної колонії. Цей метод має достатньо високу продуктивність оптимізації та дозволяє, на відміну від багатьох інших інтелектуальних методів, безпосередньо враховувати нестаціонарну динаміку ТП на ВДМ. Показано, що використання BD історичних даних, усереднених належним чином, дозволяє здійснювати більш ефективне планування транспортних маршрутів. A generic uniformly distributed random sequence on the unit interval has Poissonian pair correlations. At the same time, there are only very few explicitly known examples of sequences with this property. Moreover, many types of deterministic sequences, which are important in other contexts of equidistribution theory, have been proven to fail having the Poissonian pair correlation property. In all known examples for the non-Poissonian case, rather sophisticated arguments were used to derive information on the limiting pair correlation function. In this paper, we derive therefore the first elementary such example, namely for the sequence $x_n := \left\{ \frac{\log(2n-1)}{\log(2)} \right\}$, which is also a low-dispersion sequence. The proof only heavily relies on a full understanding of the gap structure of $(x_n)_{n \in \mathbb{N}}$. Background: Interventional left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) provides an alternative to oral anticoagulation (OAC) for prophylaxis of thromboembolic events (TEs) in nonvalvular atrial fibrillation patients, predominantly in those with high bleeding risk and contraindications for long-term OAC. Although spontaneous echo contrast (SEC) is a well-known risk factor for atrial thrombus formation, little is known about whether this means an increased risk of device-related thrombus (DRT) or TEs following LAAO. Methods: This substudy of the prospective, multicenter German LAARGE registry assessed two groups according to absence (SEC −) or presence of SEC (SEC +) in preprocedural cardiac imaging. Clinical and echocardiographic parameters were registered up to 1 year after LAAO. Results: Five hundred eighty-eight patients (SEC − 85.5 vs. SEC + 14.5%) were included. More SEC + patients were implanted for OAC non-compliance (11.8 vs. 4.6%, p = 0.008) and a higher proportion received only antiplatelet therapy without OAC at hospital discharge (96.5 vs. 86.0%, p = 0.007). The SEC + patients had larger LA diameters (50 (47; 54) vs. 47 (43; 51) mm, p < 0.001), wider LAA ostia (21 (19; 23) vs. 20 (17; 22) mm at 45°, p = 0.011), and lower left ventricular ejection fraction (50 (45; 60) vs. 60 (50; 60) %, p < 0.001) on admission. Procedural success was very high in both groups (98.1%, p = 1.00). Periprocedural major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events and other major complications were rare in both groups (3.8 vs. 4.7%, p = 0.76). At follow-up, DRT was only detected in the SEC − group (3.8 vs. 0%, p = 1.00). The rates of TEs (SEC − 1.2 vs. SEC + 0%, p = 1.00) after hospital discharge and 1-year mortality (SEC − 12.0 vs. SEC + 11.8%, p = 0.96) were not significantly different between the two groups. Conclusions: Presence of SEC at baseline was not associated with an increased rate of DRT or TEs at 1-year follow-up after LAAO in LAARGE. in press

If monitoring Poisson count data for a possible mean shift (while the Poisson distribution is preserved), then the ordinary Poisson exponentially weighted moving-average (EWMA) control chart proved to be a good solution. In practice, however, mean shifts might occur in combination with further changes in the distribution family. Or due to a misspecification during Phase-I analysis, the Poisson assumption might not be appropriate at all. In such cases, the ordinary EWMA chart might not perform satisfactorily. Therefore, two novel classes of generalized EWMA charts are proposed, which utilize the so-called Stein-Chen identity and are thus sensitive to further distributional changes than just sole mean shifts. Their average run length (ARL) performance is investigated with simulations, where it becomes clear that especially the class of so-called "ABC-EWMA charts" shows an appealing ARL performance. The practical application of the novel Stein-Chen EWMA charts is illustrated with an application to count data from semiconductor manufacturing.

Time series clustering is a central machine learning task with applications in many fields. While the majority of the methods focus on real-valued time series, very few works consider series with discrete response. In this paper, the problem of clustering ordinal time series is addressed. To this aim, two novel distances between ordinal time series are introduced and used to construct fuzzy clustering procedures. Both metrics are functions of the estimated cumulative probabilities, thus automatically taking advantage of the ordering inherent to the series' range. The resulting clustering algorithms are computationally efficient and able to group series generated from similar stochastic processes, reaching accurate results even though the series come from a wide variety of models. Since the dynamic of the series may vary over the time, we adopt a fuzzy approach, thus enabling the procedures to locate each series into several clusters with different membership degrees. An extensive simulation study shows that the proposed methods outperform several alternative procedures. Weighted versions of the clustering algorithms are also presented and their advantages with respect to the original methods are discussed. Two specific applications involving economic time series illustrate the usefulness of the proposed approaches.

In this note we derive an explicit formula for the finite empiric pair correlation function $F_N(s)$ of the van der Corput sequence in base $2$ for all $N \in \mathbb{N}$ and $s \geq 0$. The formula can be evaluated without explicit knowledge about the elements of the van der Corput sequence. Moreover, it can be immediately read off that $\lim_{N \to \infty} F_N(s)$ exists only for $0 \leq s \leq 1/2$.

Multiplicative error models (MEMs) are commonly used for real-valued time series, but they cannot be applied to discrete-valued count time series as the involved multiplication would not preserve the integer nature of the data. We propose the concept of a multiplicative operator for counts as well as several specific instances thereof, which are then used to develop MEMs for count time series (CMEMs). If equipped with a linear conditional mean, the resulting CMEMs are closely related to the class of so-called integer-valued generalized autoregressive conditional heteroskedasticity (INGARCH) models and might be used as a semi-parametric extension thereof. We derive important stochastic properties of different types of INGARCH-CMEM as well as relevant estimation approaches, namely types of quasi-maximum likelihood and weighted least squares estimation. Sie wurden auf vielfältige Weise diskriminiert. Heute gibt es in Indien viele Gesetze, die das Ziel haben, ihre Lage zu verbessern. Vieles ist direkt aus der in den großen Verlagshäusern sträflich vernachlässigten regionalsprachlichen Literatur direkt übersetzt. Es sind aber auch eine ganze Reihe Sachbücher über Südasien erschienen. - Der Name des Verlags nimmt Bezug auf die Heldin des altindischen Epos Mahabharata und Ehefrau der fünf Pandava-Brüder. Im postkolonialen Indien wird Draupadi immer wieder als ein Vorbild der selbstbewussten Frau angesehen - vor allem als eine Frau, die sich gegen Ungerechtigkeit und Willkür wehrt. In diesem Sinne greift etwa die indische Schriftstellerin Mahasweta Devi in der 1978 erstmals erschienenen Erzählung „Draupadi“ das Thema auf. Markov chains play a key role in a vast number of areas, including life insurance mathematics. Standard actuarial quantities as the premium value can be interpreted as compressed, lossy information about the underlying Markov process. We introduce a method to reconstruct the underlying Markov chain given collective information of a portfolio of contracts. Our neural architecture explainably characterizes the process by explicitly providing one-step transition probabilities. Further, we provide an intrinsic, economic model validation to inspect the quality of the information decompression. Lastly, our methodology is successfully tested for a realistic data set of German term life insurance contracts.

In addition to the day-one primary Interaction Region (IR), the design of the Electron Ion Collider (EIC) must support operation of a 2nd IR potentially added later. The 2nd IR is envisioned in an existing experimental hall at RHIC IP8, compatible with the same beam energy combinations as the 1st IR over the full center of mass energy range of ~20 GeV to ~140 GeV. The 2nd IR is designed to be complementary to the 1st IR. In particular, a secondary focus is added in the forward ion direction of the 2nd IR hadron beamline to optimize its capability in detecting particles with magnetic rigidities close to those of the ion beam. The distributional properties of the translation flow on the unit square have been considered in different fields of mathematics, including algebraic geometry and discrepancy theory. One method to quantify equidistribution is to compare the error between the actual time the translation flow spent in specific sets $E \subset [0,1]^2$ to the expected time. In this article, we prove that when $E$ is in the algebra generated by convex sets the error is of order at most $\log(T)^{1+\varepsilon}$ for all but countably many directions. Whenever the direction is badly approximable the bound can be sharpened to $\log(T)^{1/2+\varepsilon}$. The error estimates we produce are smaller than for general measurable sets as proved by Beck, while our class of examples is larger than in the work of Grepstad-Larcher who obtained the bounded remainder property for their sets. The family of cumulative paired ϕ-entropies offers a wide variety of ordinal dispersion measures, covering many well-known dispersion measures as a special case. After a comprehensive analysis of this family of entropies, we consider the corresponding sample versions and derive their asymptotic distributions for stationary ordinal time series data. Based on an investigation of their asymptotic bias, we propose a family of signed serial dependence measures, which can be understood as weighted types of Cohen’s κ, with the weights being related to the actual choice of ϕ. Again, the asymptotic distribution of the corresponding sample κϕ is derived and applied to test for serial dependence in ordinal time series. Using numerical computations and simulations, the practical relevance of the dispersion and dependence measures is investigated. We conclude with an environmental data example, where the novel ϕ-entropy-related measures are applied to an ordinal time series on the daily level of air quality.

Arundhati Roy, Amitav Ghosh und Salman Rushdie sind bekannte Namen in Deutschland, und die Bücher dieser Autorinnen und Autoren erreichen hohe Verkaufszahlen. Regionalsprachige indische Literatur hat es dem gegenüber schwer in Deutschland. Selbst so bedeutende Autoren wie Premchand (1880-1936) oder Nirmal Verma (1929-2005) sind außerhalb der indologischen Institute kaum bekannt. The possibility of two interaction regions (IRs) is a design requirement for Electron-Ion Collider (EIC). There is also a significant interest from the nuclear physics community to have a 2nd IR with measurement capabilities complementary to those of the 1st IR. While the 2nd IR will be in operation over the entire energy range of ~20GeV to ~140GeV center of mass (CM). The 2nd IR can also provide an acceptance coverage complementary to that of the 1st. Recently, generalizations of the classical Three Gap Theorem to higher dimensions attracted a lot of attention. In particular, upper bounds for the number of nearest neighbor distances have been established for the Euclidean and the maximum metric. It was proved that a generic multi-dimensional Kronecker attains the maximal possible number of different gap lengths for every sub-exponential subsequence. We mirror this result in dimension d ∈ {2, 3} by constructing Kronecker sequences which have a surprisingly low number of different nearest neighbor distances for infinitely N ∈ ℕ. Our proof relies on simple arguments from the theory of continued fractions.

Fragestellung: Das Ziel dieser Studie war eine virtuelle Passungsanalyse CAD/CAM-gefräster (Computer-Aided Design/Computer-Aided Manufacturing) ZrO₂-Käppchen (Zirkoniumdioxid) mit differenzierten Einstellungen des marginalen Platzhalters bei konstanten vertikalen und horizontalen Platzhalter und welchen Einfluss die Befestigung mit zwei unterschiedlichen Befestigungsmaterialien auf die definitive Passung hatte. Material und Methode: In dieser in-vitro Untersuchung wurden 60 CAD/CAM-gefräste ZrO₂-Käppchen hinsichtlich des marginalen Randspaltparameters (Marginal Gap 10 µm, -20 µm, -50 µm) in drei Hauptgruppen zu je 20 Einheiten eingeteilt. Zur Evaluierung des marginalen Randspaltparameters wurde jede Hauptgruppe in zwei Untergruppen (R_vor) und (F_vor) unterteilt, um nach der definitiven Befestigung die Passung zwischen dem selbstadhäsiven Befestigungskomposit RelyX™ Unicem 2 (R_zem) und dem kunststoffmodifizierten Glasionomer-Befestigungszement GC FujiCem® 2 (F_zem) zu determinieren und zu vergleichen. Mittels eines optischen Scanners erfolgte die Digitalisierung gemäß einem dreifachen Scanprotokoll. Zur Messung und Kalkulation der Diskrepanzen wurde eine CAD-Software verwendet, die die virtuelle dreidimensionale Flächenanalyse und zweidimensionale Schnittanalyse je Einheit ermöglichte. Die marginale Passung konnte so anhand eines marginalen, zirkulären Bands und standardisierter Vermessungsdistanzen (n, z, xyz) von ausgewählten Schnitten dargestellt werden. Resultate: Die „Marginal Gap 50 µm Versuchsreihe“ (R_vor/F_vor) erreichte im Mittel den geforderten marginalen Spalt. Sowohl die Ist-Werte der „Marginal Gap 10 µm Versuchsreihe“ als auch der „Marginal Gap 20 µm Versuchsreihe“ (R_vor/F_vor) waren im Mittel marginal um 20 µm größer als die geforderten Soll-Werte. Nach der Zementierung zeigten die mit GC FujiCem® 2 (F_zem) zementierten Käppchen eine größere Streuung als die mit RelyX™ Unicem 2 (R_zem) zementierten. Flächenanalytisch betrachtet wurden für die zementierte „Marginal Gap 50 µm Versuchsreihe“ (R_zem/F_zem) reduzierte marginale Flächenwerte ermittelt. Sowohl die „Marginal Gap 10 µm Versuchsreihe“ als auch die „Marginal Gap 20 µm Versuchsreihe“ (R_zem/F_zem) bestätigten nach der Zementierung die Passungsdeviation zum adaptierten Zustand davor. Schnittanalytisch konnte eine Zunahme der absoluten marginalen Diskrepanz (xyz) für alle Messreihen dokumentiert werden. Die zementierte „Marginal Gap 50 µm Versuchsreihe“ (R_zem/F_zem) erzielte die größte Differenzabweichung zum adaptierten Zustand davor. Schlussfolgerungen: Die gemittelten marginalen Randspaltwerte waren in der vorliegenden Studie über alle Gruppen hinweg klinisch akzeptabel. Bei Verwendung von neueren Befestigungsmaterialien wie RelyX™ Unicem 2 und GC FujiCem® 2 kann eine marginale Parameterkonfiguration für den „Marginal Gap“ von 30 µm bzw. 40 µm empfohlen werden, da eine maschinelle Präzision von 10 µm bzw. 20 µm sich technisch nicht als generierbar erwies. Bei vergrößertem Passungsspiel von 50 µm marginal drifteten bzw. rotierten die Käppchen aufgrund des verbesserten Fließverhaltens und der geringeren Filmzementstärken der neuartigen Befestigungsmaterialien auf dem Stumpf. Zusätzlich erwies sich die Kombination von 3D- und 2D-Analyse bei der Verifizierung der Ergebnisse als nützlich, da hiermit die Aussagekraft bezüglich der marginalen Randspaltpassung vergrößert werden konnte. Objective: The aim of this study was a virtual fit analysis of CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing) milled zirconia single crown copings with different settings of the marginal gap parameter with constant vertical and horizontal parameter and the influence of cementation by using two different luting agents on the final fit. Materials and Method: In this in-vitro investigation 60 CAD/CAM-milled zirconia copings were divided into three main groups (marginal gap 10 μm, -20 μm, -50 μm) each with 20 units. In order to evaluate the marginal gap parameter, each main group was subdivided into two subgroups (R_vor) and (F_vor) to determine after cementation the fit between the self-adhesive resin cement RelyX ™ Unicem 2 (R_zem) and the resin-modified glass ionomer cement GC FujiCem® 2 (F_zem) to compare it to before. An industrial noncontact scanner was used to digitize according it to a triple-scan protocol. For the measurement and calculation of the discrepancies, a CAD software was used, which enabled virtual three-dimensional surface analysis and two-dimensional virtual sectional analysis per unit. The marginal fit was illustrated by a marginal circular band and standardized measurement distances (n, z, xyz) of selected sections. Results: The “marginal gap 50 μm group” (R_vor/F_vor) reached on average the required marginal parameter. The “marginal gap 10 μm group” and “marginal gap 20μm group” (R_vor/F_vor) are marginally extended by 20 μm. After cementation, the caps cemented with GC FujiCem® 2 (F_zem) showed a greater spread than those cemented with RelyX ™ Unicem 2 (R_zem). Reduced marginal surface values were determined for the cemented "marginal gap 50 μm group" (R_zem/F_zem). The “marginal gap 10 μm group” and “marginal gap 20 μm group” (R_zem / F_zem) confirmed the fit deviation to the adapted state before cementation. By analysis, an increase in the absolute marginal discrepancy (xyz) was documented for all series of measurements. Conclusions: The mean marginal gap values were clinically acceptable in the present investigation. When using newer luting agents like RelyX™ Unicem 2 and GC FujiCem® 2, a marginal parameter configuration of 30 μm and 40 µm can be recommended. In the case of an increased fit of 50 µm, the crown copings drifted or rotated on the stump because of the improved flow properties and film thickness of the luting agents. In addition, the combination of 2D and 3D analysis can be useful in verifying the results to increase the value of the marginal fit of a restoration.

Der beginnende Kulturimport modernistischer englischsprachiger Literatur in den deutschen Sprachraum zu Anfang des zwanzigsten Jahrhunderts stellte nicht nur für die Produzenten der Übersetzungen eine reizvolle und fordernde Aufgabe dar. Auch für die Übersetzungswissenschaft bedeutet dies neue Anreize und erfordert maßgeschneiderte Ansätze zur Vermessung des Übersetzungsprozesses, um die Bedingungsfaktoren und Einflussnahmen von Einzelpersonen in den Mittelpunkt der text- und akteursbezogenen Untersuchung zu rücken. Den damit verbundenen Entscheidungen versucht die vorliegende Studie mithilfe eines Rollenmodells des Übersetzungsprozesses Rechnung zu tragen, indem anhand der Korrespondenzunterlagen der Akteure für die Beziehung zwischen dem Insel Verlag und dessen Übersetzer, vor allem Herberth E. Herlitschka, versucht werden soll, die Entscheidernetzwerke, Kräfteverhältnisse, Aufgabengebiete, Diskurslinien und Auswirkungen zu umreißen. With the completion of the National Academies of Sciences Assessment of a US Electron-Ion Collider, the prospects for construction of such a facility have taken a step forward. Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to explore the effects of online recommender systems (RS) on three types of diversity: algorithmic recommendation diversity, perceived recommendation diversity and sales diversity. The analysis distinguishes different recommendation algorithms and shows whether user perceptions match the actual effects of RS on sales. Design/methodology/approach – An online experiment was conducted using a realistic shop design, various recommendation algorithms and a representative consumer sample to ensure the generalizability of the findings. Findings – Recommendation algorithms show a differential impact on sales diversity, but only collaborative filtering can lead to higher sales diversity. However, some of these effects are subject to how much information firms have about users’ preferences. The level of recommendation diversity perceived by users does not always reflect the factual diversity effects. Research limitations/implications – Recommendation and consumption patterns might differ for other types of products; future studies should replicate the study with search or credence goods. The authors also recommend that future research should move from taking a unidimensional measure for the assessment of diversity and employ multidimensional measures instead. Practical implications – Online shops need to conduct a more comprehensive assessment of their RS’ effect on diversity, taking into account not only the effects on their sales distribution, but also on users’ perceptions and faith in the recommendation algorithm. Originality/value – This study offers a framework for assessing different forms of diversity in online RS. It employs various recommendation algorithms and compares their impact using not just one but three different types of diversity measures. This helps explaining some of the contradictious findings from the previous literature. After the feud with Ernst II, Emperor Conrad II withdrew the Duchy of Swabia to himself. Due to the Italian policy and the Burgundian inheritance, the Swabian capital of Zurich had become a focal point of the Emperor's attention. After the duchy was pacified, he had a new palace built in Zurich. This is depicted on the coin type Dbg. 1263 and complements the crown on the obverse as a sign of dominion. This coin type, which can numismatically be dated to the period from 1030 to 1034 AD, thus helps to date the younger Zurich palace building.

Die geplante Überbauung am Standort der ehemaligen Marienkapelle von Oberbüren löste zwischen 1992 und 1998 archäologische Untersuchungen aus. Die Publikation umfasst die Auswertung dieses Heiligtums aus historischer (15. und 16. Jh.) sowie archäologischer Sicht. Letztere umfasst zum einen die Vorlage der Befunde und Funde des Wallfahrtsortes von der späten Bronzezeit bis späten Latènezeit über die römische Zeit bis in Spätantike, zum anderen die Auswertung der Spuren der ersten möglichen Kirche mit den zugehörigen Gräbern (8. –10./11. Jh.) und deren Entwicklung bis ins 13./14. Jh. bzw. 15. Jh., als die Kirche zu einem Wallfahrtsort wurde. Die Ergebnisse dieser interdisziplinären (inkl. archäobiologischen und anthropologischen) Untersuchungen vermögen die Geschichte von Büren a. d. Aare umfassend und farbig zu illustrieren und geben einen Einblick in das Alltagsleben der damaligen Menschen.
