Este articulo examina el desarrollo del Lesson Study en Malasia. El Lesson Study se introdujo en Malasia como estudios de investigación a pequeña escala a partir de 2004. Esto siguió a la participación del país en el Proyecto de Lesson Study del APEC HRDWG como parte de cooperación internacional. En 2011, el Lesson Study fue mejorado, reconceptualizado e incluido en el Professional Learning Community Project nacional (en espanol, Proyecto Comunitario de Aprendizaje Profesional nacional). Si bien los comentarios generales de estos eventos muestran el gran potencial del Lesson Study en curso como un enfoque de desarrollo profesional, también hubo una falta de confianza entre los maestros para implementar el Lesson Study por su cuenta. Este artículo discute las implicaciones de estos eventos desde el punto de vista de las necesidades de la comunidad profesional de educación matemática. El texto incluye sugerencias para revitalizar y sostener el Lesson Study en Malasia.

This noble profession is the figure of a teacher because the knowledge provided by the teacher that is taught to students becomes a provision in solving problems. Therefore, the government is obliged to care for health optimally because the teacher forbids students from being prosperous in the future. The form of research is descriptive qualitative, the method researchers use to find information or research theories at certain times. The search for informants used a purposive sampling technique. Interview and documentation techniques are used as data collection techniques. Analysis of the data used is the analysis of the interaction model. The location of research was carried out at the Bantarsari State Elementary School. From the results of evaluating the use of BOS for the salaries of teachers and education staff at SD Bantarsari, it can be concluded that the use of BOS at SD Bantarsari is effective, efficient, responsive, and timely. In allocating School Operational Assistance funds to pay employees, it is in accordance with the oldest plan in the Activity Plan and School Budget and is in accordance with applicable regulations.

Objective: We aimed to evaluate the efficacy of a modified Double-Ovsynch protocol vs artificial insemination following estrus detection (AIED) for the enhancement of reproductive performance in Hanwoo cattle.Methods: Four hundred twelve Hanwoo cows were allocated to two treatment groups. The first group of cows were administered gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) on Day 36 (±0.6), prostaglandin F2α (PGF2α) on Day 46 (8 to 12 days later), and GnRH on Day 49, which was followed by Ovsynch, consisting of an injection of GnRH on Day 56, PGF2α on Day 63, and GnRH 56 h and timed AI (TAI) 16 h later (modified Double-Ovsynch group, n = 203). The second group of cows underwent AIED (AIED group, n = 209) and were designated as controls.Results: The pregnancy per AI 60 days after the first AI was higher in the modified Double- Ovsynch (68.5%) than in the AIED (56.5%) group, resulting in a higher probability of pregnancy per AI (odds ratio: 1.68, p

Optical nanoscopy employs the principles of nanophotonics to improve the spatiotemporal resolution by manipulating light at the nanoscale. By integrating nanophotonic structures, such as nanoscale waveguides and metal/dielectric nanostructures, with fluorescence-based imaging methods, optical nanoscopy achieves sub-diffraction-limit resolution. This rapidly developing research field holds exciting potential for advancing our understanding of the nanoscopic world and revealing insights beyond conventional optical microscopy.

The method detection limit (MDL) using UV-VIS spectrometry (UV/VIS) is the primary method to detect bromine compounds in the flue gas. However, the level of bromine compounds in the flue gas is 0.6 ppm, reaching 20% of the emission limit of 3.0 ppm, which limits the analysis of low-concentration samples. As per the United States Environmental Protection Agency and official test standards for water pollution, bromine compound analysis was performed using ion chromatography (IC). Hydrogen chloride was analyzed using IC, referencing official test standards for air pollution. Therefore, 0.1 M NaOH and distilled water (D.W.) were applied to the absorption solution of the IC analysis sample. Validation was conducted for IC (D.W.), IC (0.1 M NaOH), and UV/VIS (0.1 M NaOH) to improve the analysis method for bromine compounds in the flue gas. The linearity (R2) of the calibration curve for IC (D.W.) satisfied the R2 (0.98 or more) value calculated in the UV/VIS of the official test standards for air pollution. However, the R2 of UV/VIS (0.1 M NaOH) and IC (0.1 M NaOH) was not satisfied. In IC (D.W.) analysis results, the average values of MDL, MLQ (minimum level of quantification), accuracy and precision were 0.127 ppm, 0.403 ppm, 3.7%, and 102.9%, respectively. MDL and MLQ showed the lowest concentration compared to the other two methods, and had high accuracy and precision. Regarding the recovery rate by the absorbing liquid, IC (D.W.) was the highest at 93.55%, followed by UV/VIS (0.1 M NaOH) and IC (0.1 M NaOH). This study analyzed bromine compounds in flue gas with higher accuracy and precision using the IC (D.W.) method compared to IC (0.1 M NaOH) and UV/VIS (0.1 M NaOH).

Context We studied the virus component in the microbial food-web in the tropical coastal Sunda Shelf waters. Aims We investigated viral processes, including the lysogenic to lytic shift dynamics with seawater warming and nutrient enrichment. Methods We sampled nearshore and offshore waters of Peninsular Malaysia to provide a natural trophic gradient for correlational analyses. We also conducted laboratory experiments to investigate the changes in virus production rates and lysogeny, when temperature (range: 25–37°C) and nutrient concentrations (range: 0.1–1.0× marine-broth concentration) were manipulated. Key results Observations showed site-dependent differences in dissolved inorganic nutrient concentration, Chl-a (0.21–3.54 μg L−1) and bacterial abundance (4.09 × 105−9.41 × 105 cells mL−1), but not in viral abundance (measured as virus-like particles or VLP) (1.04 × 106−2.39 × 106 VLP mL−1) and virus production rates (0.59 × 105−4.55 × 105 VLP mL−1 h−1). From laboratory experiments, both warming and nutrient enrichment increased virus production (R2 > 0.651), decreased lysogeny (R2 > 0.743), and resulted in an increase of the viral lysis:bacterial production ratio, and a stronger viral control on bacterial production. Conclusions Although both seawater warming and nutrient enrichment increased virus production and reduced lysogeny, nutrient enrichment was a more important factor. Implications The increasing nutrient concentrations in these waters will increase virus production and virus top-down control of bacteria, and drive the ecosystem towards heterotrophy.

Blood flow disturbance of veno-venous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VV-ECMO) can be risk factor of weaning failure. We report an alternative position of cannulae of VV-ECMO which can maintain blood flow. The recirculation rate could be controlled by adjusting a position of return cannula using dilutional ultrasound monitoring.

Abstract: First responders are generally a high-risk group, repeatedly exposed to traumatic and distressing scenes and events on their daily duties. Identification of detailed features and recurring patterns of intrusive visual imagery for first responders with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can uncover the psychological difficulties, defenses, and further adjustment issues of occupational groups exposed to repetitive trauma. To this end, 20 Rorschach protocols for Korean first responders with PTSD symptoms were collected and analyzed. The analysis of the Rorschach records was twofold. First, the structural features of the Rorschach responses, including R and the Trauma Content Index, were examined quantitatively. Second, the detailed features of the morbid content, such as thematic classification, trauma memory responses, and emotional reactions, were qualitatively reviewed. Both analyses identified a biphasic pattern between constricted and flooded responses, showing the participants’ unsuccessful endeavors to defend against intrusive trauma-related imagery, which resulted in significant disorganization in thought and affect.

BACKGROUND: Electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) has been applied in many rehabilitation settings for muscle strengthening, facilitation of muscle contraction, re-education of muscle action, and maintenance of muscle strength and size during prolonged immobilization. OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to investigate effect of 8 weeks of EMS training on abdominal muscle function and to determine whether the training effect could be maintained after 4 weeks of EMS detraining. METHODS: Twenty-five subjects performed EMS training for 8 weeks. Before and after 8 weeks of EMS training, and after 4 weeks of EMS detraining, muscle size (cross-sectional area [CSA] of the rectus abdominals [RA] and lateral abdominal wall [LAW]), strength, endurance, and lumbopelvic control (LC) were measured. RESULTS: There were significant increases in CSA [RA (p< 0.001); LAW (p< 0.001)], strength [trunk flexor (p= 0.005); side-bridge (p< 0.05)], endurance [trunk flexor (p= 0.010); side-bridge (p< 0.05)], and LC (p< 0.05) after 8 weeks of EMS training. The CSA of the RA (p< 0.05) and the LAW (p< 0.001) were measured after 4 weeks of detraining and they were greater than that of the baseline. There were no significant differences in abdominal strength, endurance, and LC between baseline measurements and post-detraining. CONCLUSION: The study indicates that there is less of a detraining effect on muscle size than on muscle strength, endurance, and LC.

Therefore, inhibiting GSCs presents a critical therapeutic tactic to suppress the aggressiveness of tumors.Methods: In this study, we examined the effects of 7β-22 dihydroxyhopane (AP 18), isolated from the sub-Antarctic lichen, Pseudocyphellaria freycinetii. The cytotoxic effect of AP 18 and its effects on cell proliferation were assessed by alamarBlue assay and 5-ethynyl-2′-deoxyuridine (EdU) assay. Real-time confluence analysis was performed with a Celloger automatic live cell imaging system. Western Blotting and 3-D optical diffraction tomography (ODT) imaging were performed to determine whether apoptosis was triggered by AP 18. A Limiting dilution assay and qRT-PCR were performed to investigate the impact of AP 18 on GSC stemness.Results: AP 18 significantly reduced GSCs viability and proliferation, inducing programmed cell death identified by Annexin V/PI staining and had effects on morphologic features determined by 3-D ODT. Interestingly, treatment with AP 18 suppressed stemness features.Conclusion: Taken together, our results suggest that AP 18 might be a potential therapeutic agent to target GSCs.Keywords: Glioblastoma, glioma, Pseudocyphellaria freycinetii, hopane triterpenoid
