The article deals with the semantic structure of the word ottepel(‘thaw’), the relevant information comingfrom the National Corpus of the Russian language (hereinafter referred to as NCRL). The main attention is paid to ottepel(‘thaw’) as a metaphorical nomination of one of the periods of the Russian history. The aim of the article is to describe the semantic development of the word and to explain the peculiarities of its modern functioning and punctuation in derivative meanings. The basic meaning (the core seme - ‘change’) and its connotations (‘unpredict-ability’, ‘short duration’), realized in derivative meanings, are described. The pragmatics and syntactics of this lexeme of fatalism and uncontrollability, typical of the Russian linguistic world view, is revealed. The sources of high ‘positive potential’ of the metaphorottepel(‘thaw’) are discussed in detail, as well as the connection with connotations of the word ‘spring’ and with other ‘temperature’ metaphors. The opposition to the substantive of frost is considered as an element of the ‘cyclic’ representation of historical time. Based on the analysis of modern contexts, derivative meanings that are not recorded in dictionaries are identified, 250 contexts are distributed according to the selected meanings, and the punctuation of the word is analyzed. The authors provide the results of a linguistic experiment aimed at identifying the features of the punctuation design of a word in different meanings. The authors analyze the reasons why the widely used linguistic metaphor ottepel(‘thaw’) in the meaning of ‘historical period’ in most contexts is given in quotation marks, while in other derived meanings this metaphor is usually used without quotation marks, even if it has an occasional character. If, at the stage of the metaphor entering into the language, the use of quotation marks can be explained by reference to a literary source and vivid imagery, at present such explanations are not enough. In the considered derivative meaning, the word ottepel (‘thaw’) is an ideologeme - a word that belongs to an ideologically marked discourse, and quotation marks as an indicator of distancing allow the speaker to remove ideological bias, to make the nomination neutral. The conclusion is made that the derivative metaphorical meaning of thaw is a positively evaluative wordideologeme, which prevents it from becoming the main nomination of the corresponding historical period.

Background. Colorectal cancer (CRC) has been the 3rd most commonly malignant tumor of the gastrointestinal tract in the world. 5-Methylcytosine (m5C) and long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have an essential role in predicting the prognosis and immune response for CRC patients. Therefore, we built a m5C-related lncRNA (m5CRlncRNA) model to investigate the prognosis and treatment methods for CRC patients. Methods. Firstly, we secured the transcriptome and clinical data for CRC from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA). Then, m5CRlncRNAs were recognized by coexpression analysis. Then, univariate Cox, least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO), and multivariate Cox regression analyses were utilized to build m5C-related prognostic characteristics. Besides, Kaplan-Meier analysis, ROC, PCA, C -index, enrichment analysis, and nomogram were performed to investigate the model. Additionally, immunotherapy responses and antitumor medicines were explored for CRC patients. Results. A total of 8 m5C-related lncRNAs (AC093157.1, LINC00513, AC025171.4, AC090948.2, ZEB1-AS1, AC109449.1, AC009041.3, and LINC02516) were adopted to construct a risk model to investigate survival and prognosis for CRC patients. CRC samples were separated into low- and high-risk groups, with the latter having a worse prognosis. The m5C-related lncRNA model helps us to better distinguish immunotherapy responses and IC50 of antitumor medicines in different groups of CRC patients. Conclusion. The research may give new perspectives on tailored therapy approaches as well as novel theories for forecasting the prognosis of CRC patients.

This was a cross-sectional study. A self-designed questionnaire was used to collect participants’ demographic data. The screening program was comprised of two steps: First, a portable electronic spirometer was used for COPD screening. Those participants with FEV1/FVC ratio < 0.7 were then referred to a confirmatory pulmonary function (PF) test. COPD was confirmed according to the 2020 Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease criteria.Results: A total of 4577 participants aged 40 years old or above were included in the final analysis. Examination with a mobile spirometer identified 1159 individuals for confirmatory testing; after that, of the 1159 individuals, 889 were diagnosed with COPD by the confirmatory PF test. The prevalence of COPD among the target group was 19.4%. Older age, male sex (odds ratio [OR] = 1.537, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.246– 1.894), smoking history (OR = 1.338, 95% CI 1.069– 1.675), family history of respiratory disease (OR = 1.625, 95% CI 1.350– 1.957), education level (OR = 0.735, 95% CI 0.617– 0.876), overweight (OR = 0.614, 95% CI 0.517– 0.730) and obesity (OR = 0.572, 95% CI 0.449– 0.721) were identified as independent factors associated with COPD. The screening program helped earlier detection of COPD in 719 participants.Conclusion: COPD was highly prevalent in the rural area studied. Rural residents who were older, current or ever-smokers, male and those who had a lower education level were more vulnerable to developing COPD. Therefore, through the branded growth of B&B, the development of "B&B+" experiential integrated leisure industry, the integration of rural culture construction and propaganda, agriculture and traditional handicrafts, to make the maximum use of existing ecological tourism resources in Anyuan, creating an innovative development path of B&B with temperature and sentiment.

Predicting the post-blast re-entry time precisely can improve productivity and reduce accidents significantly. The empirical formulas for the time prediction are practical to implement, but lack accuracy. In this study, a novel method based on the back-propagation neural network (BPNN) was proposed to tackle the drawbacks. A numerical model was constructed and 300 points of sample data were recorded, with consideration to fresh air volume, occupational exposure limit, toxic gas volume per kg of explosives and roadway length. The BPNN model with six neurons in a hidden layer was then developed and prediction performance was discussed in terms of four indicators, namely, the root mean square error (RMSE), the coefficient of determination (R2), the mean absolute error (MAE) and the sum of squares error (SSE). Furthermore, one representative empirical formula was introduced and calibrated for the comparison. The obtained results showed that the BPNN model had a more remarkable performance, with RMSE of 21.45 (R2: 0.99, MAE: 10.78 and SSE: 40934), compared to the empirical formula, with RMSE of 76.89 (R2: 0.90, MAE: 42.06 and SSE: 526147). Hence, the BPNN model is a superior method for predicting the post-blast re-entry time. For better practical application, it was then embedded into the software.

This study aims to examine the effects of various maternity leave support on the quiet quitting behaviors and mental health conditions of working mothers across industries during the post-pandemic period. Through an empirical survey method of 310 valid responses from a panel data, the study results indicated that working mothers who took maternity leave were less likely to adopt quiet quitting behaviors when they returned to work after childbirth and showed better mental health at work compared to their peers who did not take maternity leave because of childbirth and/or childcare. Additionally, paid maternity leave was not found to have a significant effect on quiet quitting behaviors and mental health of working mothers across industries, but the duration of maternity leave was found as a significant factor in impacting working mothers’ quiet quitting behaviors and their mental health conditions. Moreover, peer workers’ quiet quitting behaviors and supervisors’ support for childcare (e.g., flexible work schedule) were found significantly to improve working mothers’ quiet quitting tendencies at work. Lastly, there exist significant differences in age and race in the working mothers’ quiet quitting behaviors at work.
