Semantic image segmentation, the task of assigning a label to each pixel in an image, is a major challenge in the field of computer vision. Semantic image segmentation using fully convolutional neural networks (FCNNs) offers an online solution to the scene understanding while having a simple training procedure and fast inference speed if designed efficiently. The semantic information provided by the semantic segmentation is a detailed understanding of the current context and this scene understanding is vital for scene modification in augmented reality (AR), especially if one aims to perform destructive scene augmentation. Augmented reality systems, by nature, aim to have a real-time modification of the context through head-mounted see-through or video-see-through displays, thus require efficiency in each step. Although there are many solutions to the semantic image segmentation in the literature such as DeeplabV3+, Deeplab DPC, they fail to offer a low latency inference due to their complex architectures in aim to acquire the best accuracy. As a part of this thesis work, we provide an efficient architecture for semantic image segmentation using an FCNN model and achieve real-time performance on smartphones at 19.65 frames per second (fps) while maintaining a high mean intersection over union (mIOU) of 67.7% on Cityscapes validation set with our "Basic" variant and 15.41 fps and 70.3% mIOU on Cityscapes test set using our "DPC" variant. The implementation is open-sourced and compatible with Tensorflow Lite, thus able to run on embedded and mobile devices. Furthermore, the thesis work demonstrates an augmented reality implementation where semantic segmentation masks are tracked online in a 3D environment using Google ARCore. We show that the frequent calculation of semantic information is not necessary and by tracking the calculated semantic information in 3D space using inertial-visual odometry that is provided by the ARCore framework, we can achieve savings on battery and CPU usage while maintaining a high mIOU. We further demonstrate a possible use case of the system by inpainting the objects in 3D space that are found by the semantic image segmentation network. The implemented Android application performs real-time augmented reality at 30 fps while running the computationally efficient network that was proposed as a part of this thesis work in parallel.

Assigning a label to each pixel in an image, namely semantic segmentation, has been an important task in computer vision, and has applications in autonomous driving, robotic navigation, localization, and scene understanding. Fully convolutional neural networks have proved to be a successful solution for the task over the years but most of the work being done focuses primarily on accuracy. In this paper, we present a computationally efficient approach to semantic segmentation, while achieving a high mean intersection over union (mIOU), 70.33% on Cityscapes challenge. The network proposed is capable of running real-time on mobile devices. In addition, we make our code and model weights publicly available.

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, ülkemizde acil yardımın ilk aşamalarında çok önemli rol oynayan paramediklerin bu mesleğe seçimlerinde, antropometrik ölçümlerin ve psikolojik testlerin uygulanabilirliğini araştırmak ve seçim için yeni ve yararlı kriterler oluşturabilmektir. Gereç ve yöntem: Bu çalışma Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi ve Ege Üniversitesi Paramedik Programı öğrencileri olan 48 kız ve 15 erkek olmak üzere toplam 63 kişi üzerinde yapılmıştır. Öğrencilerin önce her iki el için ayrı ayrı olarak, işaret ve yüzük parmak uzunlukları dijital bir kumpas yardımıyla ölçülmüş, daha sonra parmakların birbirine oranları belirlenmiştir. Eldeki parmak oranlarının kişilik yapısıyla ilişkili olduğu saptanan çalışmalara dayanılarak, işaret parmağı yüzük parmağından uzun olanlar, östrojenin baskın olduğu grup; işaret parmağı yüzük parmağından kısa olanlar, testosteronun baskın olduğu grup olarak tanımlanmış ve bu şekilde her iki el için ayrı ayrı olmak üzere iki grup oluşturulmuştur. Daha sonra da her öğrenciye Melbourne Karar Verme Ölçeği, Schutte Duygusal Zeka Ölçeği, İş Ortamı Stres Ölçeği, Empati Ölçeği ve Beş Faktör Kişilik Envanteri testleri uygulanmıştır. Veriler istatistiksel olarak SPSS 15.0 programında değerlendirilmiştir. Bulgular: Yaş ortalamaları, kızlarda 19,67 ± 0,93 yıl ve erkeklerde 20,40 ± 1,60 yıl olarak saptanmıştır. Sağ, sol el ayrı ayrı ve her iki el birlikte alındığında, kız ve erkek öğrencilerin yaklaşık %80 düzeyinde parmak oranlarında testosteronlu grubun baskın olduğu görülmüştür. Testosteronu baskın olan grubun, östrojeni baskın olan gruptan; Dikkatli karar verme ile, yeniliğe açıklık puanın daha yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir. Sağ elde olduğu gibi sol elde de, testosteronu baskın olan grubun, östrojeni baskın olan gruptan, duyguların değerlendirilmesi puanı ile sorumluluk ve kararlılık puanın, daha yüksek olduğu görülmüştür. Her iki ele göre de testosteronu baskın olan grubun, östrojeni baskın olan gruptan dikkatli karar verme, düzenlilik, sorumluluk / kararlılık, analitik düşünme ve duyarlılık puanının daha yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir. Sonuç: Bu çalışmanın, ileriye dönük olarak, paramedik seçiminde var olan kriterlere kişilik testlerini ve kolay bir ölçüm yöntemi olan parmak oranını katabileceği ve nitelikli sağlık elemanlarının yetiştirilmesi için yararlı olabileceği düşünülmektedir

PubMedID: 26044233 OBJECTIVE: Percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) are the preferred treatment for coronary artery disease, even though the development of in-stent restenosis (ISR) continues to be an important complication. Neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is indicative of the inflammatory process and can predict the short- and long-term prognosis of cardiovascular diseases. We investigated the relationship between ISR development and neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in bifurcation lesions in stable coronary artery disease (CAD) patients. PATIENTS AND METHODS: We analyzed the clinical and angiographic data of 181 consecutive stable CAD patients who had undergone successful PCI to the true bifurcation lesion from January 2010-December 2012. Patients were divided into two groups based on the development of ISR (group 1, ISR-; group 2, ISR +). RESULTS: NLRafter(p < 0.001) and NLRNLR?(p < 0.001) were significantly higher in group 2. NLRNLR?was found to be significant independent predictor of ISR in the multivariate logistic regression analysis. A NLRNLR?level > 0.58 mg/dL had 81.8% sensitivity and 93.5% specificity for the prediction of ISR, as identified by the ROC curve. A NLRafter level > 3.43 predicted ISR with 45.5% sensitivity and 95.8% specificity. The comparison of ROC curve analysis demonstrated that NLRNLR?was the strongest independent predictor of ISR (p = 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: As a result, although drug eluting stent implantation is known to be recommended in the bifurcation lesion PCI in worldwide, we want to emphasize the usage of the NLR values in the prediction of ISR. So, we think that NLRNLR?levels may be a useful marker for the prediction of ISR in patients who undergo bifurcation PCI.

This study deals with investigations on how to control off-season maturation and spawning of the Pacific white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei by using various maturation techniques. For the experiment, the broodstock were separated into five groups (Group 1: Control, Group 2: Serotonin-injected, Group 3: Ablated, Group 4: Temperature-fluctuated, and Group 5: Another ablated groups). Each of the first four groups were stocked into a 2-m diameter round tank at density of 9.44 shrimps per m2 (2:1, female/male), while Group 5 were stocked into a 3-m diameter tank at density of 5.67 shrimps per m2 (1:1, female/male). The experiment continued for 2 months until maturation in a recirculation system. Each female was tagged and any ripe female carrying a spermatophore was removed to spawn individually in a spawning tank. The first spawnings occurred on 25-28th days of the experiment in all the groups. Bu çalışmada, ülkemizde geçmişten günümüze gerçekleştirilen mimari proje yarışmalarının amacı, tarihsel gelişimi, süreci, çeşitleri, olumlu ve olumsuz yönleri aktarılmaktadır. Ülkemizdeki kamu yönetim sistemi ve yapıları mimari proje yarışmaları çerçevesinde beş döneme ayrılarak ele alınmakta ve resmi yönetim yapılarının mimari (biçimsel ve anlamsal) özellikleri incelenmektedir.Mimari proje yarışmaları, mimarlara sunduğu özgür ortam ile düşüncelerin en zengin biçimde ortaya konulduğu, özgün ve nitelikli projelerin elde edildiği bir yöntem olup, işverene birçok alternatif arasından en iyiyi seçme imkanı vermektedir.Mimarların özgüveninin artmasını sağlayan, kişinin mesleki gelişimini sürdürmesi için teşvik eden mimari proje yarışmaları, beraberinde getirdiği rekabet olgusu, karşılaştırma ve eleştiri esasları ile ayrıcalıklı bir mimarlık ortamı yaratmaktadır.Yarışma sonucu elde edilen projeler, mimari açıklama ve jüri raporları çeşitli kaynaklarda yer almakta ve geçmişten günümüze olan süreci aktaran belge arşivi niteliği taşımaktadırlar. In this study, the objective of the architectural project competitions realized from past to present, the historical development, process, types, the negative and positive sides are depicted. The public administration system and constructions in our country are evaluated by being divided into 5 periods in the frame of the project competitions held and the architectural (figural and meaning) properties of the official management constructions are being examined.The architectural project competition is a method where the ideas are freely demonstrated and distinctive and eligible projects are acquired within the free environment offered to the architects and so renders the employer the opportunity to elect the best among vast sum of alternatives.The architectural project competitions those provide enhancement of self-confidence of the architects and act as a stimulus for them to continue their occupational improvement, generate an exclusive architecturing environment with the competition, comparison and criticism concept they bring along.Projects, architectural explanations and jury reports acquired as a consequence of the competition take place in some various sources and they are some kind of a documentary archive transfering the process from past to present. Therefore, these documents transmitting the development and changing in the figural and meaning examination of the characteristics of the public management constructions were chosen as an investigation method.Notwithstanding that the management is a notion existing in all the phases of human life from past to present, all the countries required management and buildings belonging to it. These buildings having characteristics of a public place open for the use of the public have been the communication media transfering the management and the thoughts of the management to the public as well as carrying out required functions. Even though the characteristics and the meanings they transfered were differentiated for periods based on the social, economical and poitical reasons, the management achieved to express itself in all the phases.Some criteria were specified to fulfill figural and meaning analysises within the scope of this study. The constructions were analysed by the visual and environmental expression elements constituting the design, fundemental principles disciplining the design and the meaning characteristics. Ekonomik hayatın en önemli aktörlerinden olan firmalar için finansman kaynaklarının etkin şekilde yönetilmesi önem arz etmektedir. Finansman yapılarının niteliği bu yönetimin başarısına etki ederken, firmalar içsel ya da dışsal bazı nedenlerle sıklıkla finansman açıklarıyla karşılaşabilmektedirler. Firmaların finansman sağlayıcılarının başında gelen bankalar ise, ekonomik faaliyetlerin yürütülmesi için üstlendikleri bu görev doğrultusunda ülke ekonomilerinin büyüme ve kalkınmasında aktif rol oynamaktadırlar. Ancak bankaların üstlendikleri bu görevle aynı doğrultuda maruz kaldıkları riskler de artmakta ve performanslarını korumaları için başarılı bir risk yönetimi de zorunlu hale gelmektedir. Bankaların yönetmek zorunda oldukları riskleri çeşitlendirmek mümkünken, bu risklerin en temel olanı ana ürünleri olan kredinin geri ödenmemesinden kaynaklanan risktir. Banka portföyleri içinde firma kredilerinin önemli bir paya sahip olduğu dikkate alındığında, firma performanslarının değerlendirilmesi bankaların alacakları önlemlerin başında gelmektedir. Bu çerçevede, çalışmanın amacı; bankaların kredi riski konusunda genel bir çerçeve oluşturmak ve bu konuda geliştirilen risk tahmin modellerine bir örnek sunmaktır. Çalışmada 2011-2018 yıllarını kapsayan bir örneklem kullanılırken, imalat sanayi sektöründe yer alan firmaların performansları üzerinden kredi risk modeli geliştirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlar; faaliyet kar marjı, duran varlıkların aktif içindeki payı, ticari borçların pasif içindeki payı ve net satışlara göre mali borç düzeyini gösteren oranların imalat sanayi firmalarının performans değerlendirmesinde etkili olduğunu göstermektedir.

2019 yılında başlayan ve ardından dünya çapında bir salgın olan COVID‐19, küresel anlamda hem ekonomik hem de sosyal açıdan negatif sonuçlar oluşturmuştur. Yaşanan bu gelişmelerden hemen hemen her sektör etkilenmiş olup, Gıda, İçecek ve Tütün Sektörü de bu sektörler arasında yer almaktadır. Çalışma ile ulaşılmaya çalışılan, yaşanan gelişmelerin beraberinde Borsa İstanbul (BİST)’a bağlı Gıda, İçecek ve Tütün Sektöründe yer alan şirketlerin, COVID‐19 pandemi dönemini kapsayan 2019‐2021 yıllarında nasıl etkilendiklerinin ortaya konulmasıdır. Çalışmada kullanılan yedi adet finansal oran, Kamu Aydınlatma Platformu (KAP)’ndan elde edilen finansal raporlar üzerinden oluşturulmuş; elde edilen oranlar çalışmada uygulanan yöntem olan Gri İlişkisel Analiz kapsamında kullanılmıştır. Uygulama sonucunda ilgili sektördeki şirketlerin yıllar içerisindeki sıralamaları ortaya konulmuş ve değerlendirmeleri yapılmıştır. Araştırmaya göre; bazı şirketlerin bu dönemi avantaja çevirdiği, bazılarının ise değişime karşı yanıt veremediği sonucuna varılmıştır. Pandeminin etkilemediği düşünülen şirketlerin ise güçlü bir finansal yapıya sahip olduğu gözlemlenmiştir. COVID‐19, which started in 2019 and then became a worldwide pandemic, has become a pandemic and with this pandemic process, negative consequences have emerged worldwide, both socially and economically. Like almost every other sector, the Food, Beverage and Tobacco Industry sector has also been adversely affected by these developments. Attempted to be reached by this study is to reveal how the companies in the Food, Beverage and Tobacco Sectors, which are affiliated to Borsa İstanbul (BIST), were affected in the years 2019‐2021, covering the Covid‐19 periods. Within the extent of the study, seven ratios were used. Relevant ratios have been established with the help of financial reports obtained from the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP). These ratios were utilised within the extent of the Gray Relational Analysis Method. As a consequence of the application of the method, the rankings of the companies over the years were revealed, and their evaluations were carried out. In pursuant to the results of the research; while some companies used this period as an advantage, some companies could not appraise the situation in their favour. It is seen that companies that are not thought to be affected by the pandemic have a strong financial structure.
