ObjectivePregnant and postpartum women are vulnerable to psychological problems with a high estimated prevalence. To date, there is no meta-analysis that specifically assesses the effectiveness of art-based interventions to improve mental health in pregnant and postpartum women. The objective of this meta-analysis was to assess the efficacy of art-based interventions when delivered to pregnant and postpartum women.MethodsSystematic literature searches were conducted from the inception to 6 March 2022 in seven English databases, including PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Central Register, CINAHL, ProQuest, Scopus, and Web of Science. Randomised controlled trials (RCTs) reporting art-based interventions targeting the improvement of women’s mental health in pregnancy and postpartum were included. Cochrane risk of bias tool was applied to assess evidence quality.ResultsTwenty-one randomised controlled trials (RCTs) involving 2,815 participants were eligible for data analysis. A pooled analysis demonstrated that art-based interventions significantly reduced anxiety (SMD = −0.75, 95% CI = −1.10 to −0.40) and depression symptoms (MD = −0.79, 95% CI = −1.30 to −0.28). However, art-based interventions did not alleviate stress symptoms as expected in our findings. Subgroup analysis demonstrated that intervention implementation time, intervention duration and music selected by the participants vs. not could have influence on the efficacy of art-based intervention for anxiety.ConclusionIn perinatal mental health, art-based interventions may be effective in alleviating anxiety and depression. In the future, we still need to conduct high-quality RCTs to validate our findings and enrich clinical application of art-based interventions.

ObjectiveTo precisely determine the species of a carbapenem-resistant Pseudomonas strain 1809276 isolated from the urine of a Chinese patient and analyze its integrative and conjugative element (ICE) 1276 formation mechanism.MethodsSingle-molecule real-time (SMRT) sequencing was carried out on strain 18091276 to obtain the complete chromosome and plasmid (pCN1276) sequences, and average nucleotide identity (ANI) was used for precise species identification. The ICEs in GenBank with the same integrase structure as ICE 1276 were aligned. At the same time, the transfer ability of blaIMP−1 and the antibiotic sensitivity of Pseudomonas juntendi 18091276 were tested.ResultsThis bacterium was P. juntendi, and its drug resistance mechanism is the capture of the accA4' gene cassette by the Tn402-like type 1 integron (IntI1-blaIMP−1) to form In1886 before its capture by the ΔTn4662a-carrying ICE 1276. The acquisition of blaIMP−1 confers carbapenem resistance to P. juntendi 18091276.ConclusionThe formation of blaIMP−1-carrying ICE 1276, its further integration into the chromosomes, and transposition and recombination of other elements promote bacterial gene accumulation and transmission.

In the practical application process, the reactivity and performance of ZVI-based materials when being placed in the air for a few days, weeks or months was worth studying. Most studies on the aging of ZVI were carried out in solution, only considering the reactivity of ZVI in aqueous solution. In this work, we investigated the degradation of chloramphenicol (CAP) in sulfuric acid (SA) and citric acid (CA) systems by sulfidated micro-sized zero-valent iron (S-mZVI) in air with different aging days. The results showed that with the increase of aging days in the air, the degradation effect of S-mZVI on CAP in different acid systems showed a similar trend (first increasing and then decreasing), the removal effect of S-mZVI on CAP reached the best within the aging time of 5–9 days. The degradation path of CAP could be divided into oxidation path and reduction path. The XPS and XRD characterization results of the materials on different aging days indicated that the characteristic peak of Fe3O4 was detected on the surface of the materials with the increase of aging days, which may be the reason for changing degradation efficiencies of CAP by S-mZVI for different aging days. In addition, in different systems of SA and CA, the degradation curves of CAP differed. This might be caused by two reasons: (1) CA could adsorb on S-mZVI while SA could not; (2) The initial pH of the CA system played a more significant effect on CAP degradation compared to that of the SA system.

According to the infrared attenuation spectrum, we can know the conduction type and major point defect of CdZnTe crystals. Based on point defect modelling, an appropriate modus of atmosphere annealing was described in this paper. In this paper, annealing with Cd pressure control technology was used to upgrade p-CdZnTe and n-CdZnTe, respectively. Characterizations reveal that the optical and electrical performance of the CZT crystals is patently improved after annealing. Employment of the infrared attenuation spectrum as the annealing guideline has been verified to be feasible and effectual in this paper.

Quantum synchronizable codes are kinds of quantum error-correcting codes that can not only correct the effects of quantum noise on qubits but also the misalignment in block synchronization. In this paper, a new method for construct quantum synchronizable codes from negacyclic codes are proposed, where the length of these negacyclic codes are $p$ and $pq$. Through this method, the quantum synchronizable code possesses optimal or almost optimal error-correcting capability towards bits errors and phase errors, since the negacyclic codes we used are optimal or almost optimal. When the composition of some P-type Cd0.96Zn0.04Te (CZT) crystals grown by the vertical Bridgman method (VB) is analyzed by component mapping spectrometer. It is observed that the short-wave (800–1000 nm) infrared absorption edge is inclined, accompanied by a decreased long-wave (400-4000 cm−1) infrared transmittance, which leads to an apparent interference of Zn component mapping measurement. In our research, effects of roughness, surface composition, and internal defects on the absorption edge slope of CZT (hereinafter referred to as the edge slope) were investigated by AFM, EDX, XPS and PICTS, and the main cause of non-uniformity of the slope mapping was obtained from annealing treatment. The results indicated that compared with the surface roughness and surface composition due to our surface treatment process, the dominant defect (Cd vacancy) in CZT was the principal influence factor for the edge slope, whose value was negatively correlated with the defect concentration. Furthermore, the inclination of the edge slope and the simultaneous decrease of long-wave infrared transmittance could be respectively explained by the tail state effect and the free carrier absorption caused by high-concentration Cd vacancy absorption. The mapping distribution trend of the slope presented consistency with that of the long-wave transmittance. In addition, the non-uniformity distribution of the edge slope mapping, can be effectively improved by adequate annealing under Cd atmosphere. Steep slopes and a monotonous distribution of Zn content was observed after annealing.

The influence of Cd-rich annealing at temperatures of 440–900 °C on the defect properties of Te-rich CdZnTe materials was studied. Cd-rich annealing at temperatures above the melting point of Te was confirmed to effectively reduce the size of Te-rich inclusions in the materials. However, dislocation multiplication occurred in the regions near Te-rich inclusions. Etch pit clusters were observed on the surfaces of annealed materials etched with Everson etchant. The etch pit clusters were much larger than the as-grown Te-rich inclusions. The dependence of the cluster size on that of the Te-rich inclusions and the annealing conditions was investigated. The density of etch pits in the normal region increased when the annealing temperature exceeded 750 °C. The mechanisms of the evolution of the Te-rich inclusions and the formation of new defects during the Cd-rich annealing are discussed.

Influences of Te-rich and Cd-rich precipitates of CdZnTe substrates on the surface defects of HgCdTe epilayers grown by Te-rich liquid-phase epitaxy were investigated. The results show that HgCdTe surface defects are mainly attributable to precipitates on CdZnTe substrate surfaces. At the same time, the remelting of substrate surface layers during the liquid-phase epitaxial process also affects the number and morphology of HgCdTe surface defects. According to the morphological characteristics of surface defects, three types of surface defects were observed on the surfaces of HgCdTe epilayers. There are no obvious differences in the morphologies of the surface defects grown on Te-rich and Cd-rich substrates. However, the dislocation distributions around surface defects are different for HgCdTe epilayers grown on different substrates.

In this paper, the effects of various structural properties on the synchronization of coupled oscillators with local-world coupling configurations are investigated. It is found that for local world networks, the larger heterogeneity of the degree distribution, the enhanced interconnection of nodes, and the increased clustering do not improve the synchronizability of dynamical systems. A great deal of research effort has focused on the study of network resilience in recent years. In this paper, the method of enhancing network resilience under attacks is investigated. Degree-preserving cross-link rewiring is adopted to adjust the topological structure. Then, the problem of optimization of network resilience is transformed into a single-objective combinatorial optimization problem. The optimization model is established, in which the node robustness index is used as the objective function. An optimization algorithm based on Simulated Annealing is proposed. Lastly, through numerical simulations BA scale-free network and two real networks are investigated to verify the effectiveness of the proposed optimization method, also, during optimization the change of several important structural parameters is recorded and analyzed.

Research and development of nanoscale materials have received increasing attention due to the small size scales and large surface-volume ratios involved, and the associated changes in properties compared to those of bulk systems. This dissertation introduces the design of two types of polymeric nanoparticles, intended for edible antimicrobials or for chemical oxygen sensors. Recent outbreaks of foodborne pathogens have attracted public attention to food safety. Due to healthy life style trends, there is a demand for the development of an efficient, biocompatible sanitizing method for fresh and fresh-cut produce. We have developed chitosan-based nanoparticles modified with antimicrobial agents in order to achieve potent antimicrobial activity. Nisin, a widely used food preservative, has been attached to chitosan nanoparticles by electrostatic forces with a layer of anionic alginic acid in between. ε-poly-L-lysine, a natural and broad-spectrum antimicrobial, has been incorporated when forming chitosan nanoparticles. Particle properties have been studied, including the particle diameter, zeta potential, and morphology. Further investigation of antimicrobial activity is ongoing in Dr. Karl Matthews’ group in the Department of Food Science, including determination of the minimum inhibitory concentration, bacterial viability monitoring assays, and application in food washing steps. Oxygen is one of the most import analytes in the world due to its high relevance to living things. Determination of oxygen concentration has great importance in various fields. A series of new nanoparticle-based optical oxygen sensors were developed. The luminescent oxygen indicator dyes Pt(II)–5,15-di(pentafluorophenyl)-10,20-di(4-bromophenyl)porphyrin (PtTFPP), and Pt(II) meso-tetra(4-bromophenyl)tetra(tert-butyl)benzoporphyrin (PtTPTtBuBP) were covalently immobilized into two different conjugated polymers. The resulting polymers were rendered positively or negatively charged via chemical modification and were used to prepare oxygen-sensitive nanoparticles via a nanoprecipitation technique. This method improved the brightness of the oxygen sensor by a factor of 4-6. Efficient energy transfer was established from conjugated polymers to the oxygen indicator dye. Highly efficient two-photon excitation is expected. Different functional groups were also added to achieve adequate stability in aqueous dispersion and cell-penetration ability for different types of cells and tissues. Further investigation is ongoing in Dr. Dmitri Papkovsky’s group at University College Cork (Ireland).

This paper presents the progress in the cadmium zinc telluride (CdZnTe) single crystal growth and high quality CdZnTe substrates fabrication at Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics (SITP). The 60 mm diameter ingots with almost 90% single-crystals were grown by the vertical Bridgman technique. The average single-crystal yield of all ingots grown in the last two years was about 60%. The large-size substrates (> 40 × 60 mm2) were obtained. The processing and assessment of CdZnTe substrates were introduced. Especially, the sliced wafers were etched by the bromine-methanol to remove slicing damage rather than by lapping and polishing. An Olympus BX51-IR transmission microscope with mapping function was employed to take images of the inclusions/precipitates in the full wafer and the surface of the wafers etched by the Evenson etchant. The inclusions with different shapes were investigated. The inclusions and precipitates were distinguished. The inclusions occurred at the crystal growth stage and the precipitates were separated from the nonstoichiometric crystals at the cooling stage. The both inclusions and precipitates mainly originated from the nonstoichiometric CdZnTe source materials. The mosaic structure of the etch pits profiles in the substrates has been eliminated. The etch pit density (EPD) of CdZnTe substrates was counted by the software and the average value of EPDs was less than 5 × 104 cm-2. After the defects of the substrates were measured, the substrates were polished. The surface flatness and roughness of the substrates were also improved by optimizing the technology.
