The possibility of using ferritic clinker as a component of binders with special performance properties is considered. Such types of cements can solve the problems of providing the construction industry with high-strength, resistant to external aggressive effects and relatively cheap binders. However, the mechanism of hardening and curing of cement stone obtained by using ferritic clinkers is complicated and depends on a number of parameters. It was found that the greatest thermal effect (more than 70%) during the hydration of the resulting ferritic clinker with the introduction of various additives (lime and gypsum stone) is achieved up to 4 hours from the moment the binder compositions are mixed by means of a calorimetric analysis carried out during the hydration of the developed special binder compositions. That corresponds to the course of the induction period of hydration of the used Portland cement, at the time of the occurrence of primary contacts between crystalline hydrates and sufficient mobility of the cement mass. In this time interval, the strength of the cement stone is not high enough and the produced iron-containing hydration products are able to fill the space of the cement matrix, making it more dense and less defective. The formation of iron-containing crystalline hydrates from ferritic clinker can proceed in several stages: hydrolysis of dicalcium ferrite at the initial stage of the reaction and further interaction of its products with portlandite in the period from 7 to 14 days from the moment of mixing the binder compositions. The main crystalline hydrates formed from ferritic clinker are iron-bearing ettringite and hydrogarnet. The study of the physical and mechanical characteristics of cement stone showed that the optimal content of ferritic clinker in the composition of the binder compositions is 5%. With a given quantity, the strength of the cement stone in compression and bending exceeds that of the control sample by 11.5%. The input of 15 and 30% ferritic clinkers into the composition of special binders reduces the strength characteristics by 15-20%.

The aim of the study is to analyse and select the best practices and solutions used in the process of shaping leadership competencies in selected military academies. The research was carried out on the basis of the experts’ reviews, analysis of the education programs, and the authors' own experiences. The main conclusions are that there are many similarities between the studied academies, however, differences were also identified that may have a significant impact on the shaping of leadership competencies at individual academies. As a result, in the nextstage of the research, there were identified areas that should be improved at the General Tadeusz Kosciuszko Military University of Land Forces in Poland.

The development of pharmacological therapies for mitochondrial diseases is hampered by the lack of tissue-level and circulating biomarkers reflecting effects of compounds on endothelial and mitochondrial function. This phase 0 study aimed to identify biomarkers differentiating between patients with mitochondrial disease and healthy volunteers (HVs). In this cross-sectional case-control study, eight participants with mitochondrial disease and eight HVs matched on age, sex, and body mass index underwent study assessments consisting of blood collection for evaluation of plasma and serum biomarkers, mitochondrial function in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs), and an array of imaging methods for assessment of (micro)circulation. Plasma biomarkers GDF-15, IL-6, NT-proBNP, and cTNI were significantly elevated in patients compared to HVs, as were several clinical chemistry and hematology markers. No differences between groups were found for mitochondrial membrane potential, mitochondrial reactive oxygen production, oxygen consumption rate, or extracellular acidification rate in PBMCs. Imaging revealed significantly higher nicotinamide-adenine-dinucleotide-hydrogen (NADH) content in skin as well as reduced passive leg movement-induced hyperemia in patients. This study confirmed results of earlier studies regarding plasma biomarkers in mitochondrial disease and identified several imaging techniques that could detect functional differences at the tissue level between participants with mitochondrial disease and HVs. However, assays of mitochondrial function in PBMCs did not show differences between participants with mitochondrial disease and HVs, possibly reflecting compensatory mechanisms and heterogeneity in mutational load. In future clinical trials, using a mix of imaging and blood-based biomarkers may be advisable, as well as combining these with an in vivo challenge to disturb homeostasis.

This paper is devoted to the study of active and stable nickel catalysts for methane dry reforming based on Pr-doped ceria–zirconia obtained via the solvothermal continuous method. Studies on the physicochemical and catalytic properties of the 5%Ni/Ce0.75Zr0.25−xPrxO2 series have showed that Pr introduction leads to an increase in the amount of highly reactive oxygen in the oxide lattice. Praseodymium-based catalysts showed significantly higher reactant conversions. In addition to the nature of support, the method of nickel introduction was also studied; Ni was added both using impregnation and the one-pot procedure with mixed oxide preparation. The method of Ni addition was shown to have significant effect on the morphology of its particles and Ni-support interaction, and, respectively, on catalytic activity and coking stability. The 5%Ni/Ce0.75Zr0.15Pr0.1O2 catalyst prepared by one-pot method showed stable operation in the MDR reaction for 30 h at CO2 and CH4 conversions of ~40% and an H2 yield of ~18% (T = 700 °C, τ = 10 ms).

A series of 5%Ni/Ce1-xTixO2 catalysts was prepared with nickel impregnation of mixed Ce–Ti oxides obtained via synthesis in supercritical isopropanol. All oxides have a cubic fluorite phase structure. Ti is incorporated into the fluorite structure. Small amounts of impurities of TiO2 or mixed Ce–Ti oxides appear with Ti introduction. Supported Ni is presented as the NiO or NiTiO3 perovskite phase. Ti introduction increases total samples reducibility and results in stronger interaction of supported Ni with the oxide support. The fraction of rapidly replaced oxygen and the average tracer diffusion coefficient also increase. The number of metallic nickel sites decreased with increasing Ti content. All catalysts except Ni-CeTi0.45 demonstrate close activity in tests of dry reforming of methane. The lower activity of Ni-CeTi0.45 can be connected to Ni decoration with species of the oxide support. The incorporation of Ti prevents detachment of Ni particles from the surface and their sintering during dry reforming of methane.

PURPOSE: The dynamic growth of multi-channel sales (including e-commerce) causes a mass flow of cargo in supply networks and large-scale transport and logistics processes in complex multi-hub structures of logistics networks in Europe. One of the key objectives of the effective management of processes and cargo flows in complex structures of logistics networks is an increase in profitability of customer and shipment delivery., DESIGN/METHODOLOGY/APPROACH: In the presented value-based management (VBM) model, multi-factor price lists for logistics services and taxation weight of shipment are the basis for revenue modelling by logistic operators, as well as their multi-criteria conditions for qualifying rates and add-on factors. On the other hand, transport and logistics processes implemented in supply chains and multi-hub network, create a complex cost environment., FINDINGS: Dynamically and segmentally planned process loads in logistics networks according to the changing needs of customers, create complex and variable structures of direct and indirect costs of logistics operators. The allocation of costs in multi-hub logistics networks is determined by dynamic changes in the flow of cargo, through the settlement keys of resources costs used in the processes of the logistics network. Customer service quality indicators established by logistics operators are mapped to operational norms in the final settlement model. The key factor in using the value-based management model by enterprises is achieving the required operational and price competitiveness on the market of transport and logistics services with the assumed profitability of customers and services., ORIGINALITY/VALUE: The results of the presented model analysis of the profitability of customers as well as the efficiency of processes in the logistics network influence managerial decisions shaping the appraisal of shipment contracts with customers. Optimization of the process of physical education in higher education institutions of Ukraine requires the search for new approaches to increase physical activity of student youth. Therefore, the issue of systematic independent physical exercise of students in their free time is acute. The aim is to develop a methodology for independent physical education classes and to test its impact on students' physical fitness. Material and research methods. Analysis and generalization of scientific and methodological literature, pedagogical observation, surveys, testing, methods of mathematical statistics. The study involved 27 first-year students of Volyn National University named after Lesya Ukrainka. Results. Independent classes of students form the basis of the formation of physical culture of the individual, in particular: physical self-education, self-development, self-realization. An attempt is made to show the importance of physical exercises in extracurricular time of students. Most of the surveyed freshmen have a relevant desire for physical improvement, readiness for independent work. Based on the voluntariness and initiative of students, a method of independent physical exercises has been developed for them. Its effectiveness has been proven during the experiment. For all tests, the increase in results at the end of the experiment is obvious. Thus, a well-developed method of physical education can improve the personality not only physically, but also eliminate mental fatigue and nervous tension. Conclusions. The national system of physical education in higher education institutions provides for the formation of physical culture in student youth, the ability to purposefully use its tools and methods for their own physical improvement. At the present stage, physical fitness and physical development are especially important as a source of health, education of an active, creative person, able to make decisions and implement them in the process of life.

The article is devoted to the study of trends in the hospitality industry in Ukraine and the world and the search for ways to improve the competitiveness of the study area. The aim of the publication is to substantiate the directions of increasing the competitiveness of the hospitality industry in the regions of Ukraine in modern conditions on the basis of the analysis of trends in the studied sphere. Methodology. The study is based on the analysis of scientific literature and points of view of foreign and domestic experts in the field of hospitality. The study also used analytical data of the World Travel and Tourism Council and the National Tourism Organization of Ukraine. During the organization and conduct of the study were used general scientific and special methods, such as analysis, synthesis, comparison, identification of destructive factors affecting the state and development of the hospitality industry. Using a structural-logical method, presented a vision of the implementation of modern ways to improve the competitiveness of the hospitality industry in the regions of Ukraine in the conditions of the spread of pandemic. Results. The content and importance of the hospitality industry in the development of the regions of Ukraine and the world. Defined the content of the definitions under study, summarized and formulated approaches to defining the relationship between the concepts of "hospitality industry" and "tourism industry". The analysis of the main indicators of the hospitality industry. In order to find ways to improve the competitive advantages of the hospitality industry and determine the target audience the analysis of indicators of inbound and outbound tourism in Ukraine. Described trends in the development of the hospitality industry in modern conditions. The decrease in almost all indicators of development of the hospitality industry is revealed. The data of the World Council of Travel and Tourism about the state of the hospitality industry in Ukraine are analyzed. The reduction of the total contribution of travel to employment in Ukraine in 2020 to 6.3% was revealed. Identified directions and measures to strengthen the competitive advantages of the hospitality industry in the regions of Ukraine. It is proved that promising directions to improve the competitiveness of the hospitality industry in modern conditions are the association of business entities of the industry, as well as the use of modern digital and information tools. Such associations can be alliances, clusters, unions, brotherhoods, and so on. Joint cooperation of economic entities of the region will allow to create a comprehensive regional product that meets international standards, the needs of modern consumers, safe and of high quality, as well as able to integrate into the world tourism market. Practical implications. The study, based on analysis of major trends in the hospitality industry in Ukraine and the world has allowed to define integrated directions for improving the competitiveness of the hospitality industry, the implementation of which in the regions allows you to create a comprehensive regional product that meets international standards and the needs of the modern consumer, is of high quality and safe. Value/originality. The proposed directions for improving the competitiveness of the hospitality industry are the leading tools of regional development, which will quickly overcome the consequences of the spread of the pandemic, promote socio-economic growth of regions and the integration of regional products and services in the global tourism market.

openaire: EC/H2020/869993/EU//IMPRESS Wood is increasingly replacing concrete to reduce CO2 emissions in buildings, but fossil-based adhesives are still being used in wood panels. Epoxidized lignin adhesives could be a potential replacement, but their preparation has so far required low-molecular weight lignin and long reaction times. Here we show a new efficient method to produce epoxidized kraft lignin (EKL) from regular kraft lignin by using interfacial catalysis. We demonstrate that EKL combined with biocolloids in the form of lignin nanoparticles (LNPs) produces a strong adhesive comparable to commercially available ones when cross-linked at 130-160 °C for only 3-5 minutes. The adhesive was free of phenol or formaldehyde, had a lignin content of over 80% and still showed impressive wet strength and incredible thermal stability. The process was shown to be scalable and environmentally more sustainable than resins from fossil-based feedstock or currently available ones from renewable resources.

BRCA2 is an essential tumor suppressor protein involved in promoting faithful repair of DNA lesions. The activity of BRCA2 needs to be tuned precisely to be active when and where it is needed. Here, we quantified the spatio-temporal dynamics of BRCA2 in living cells using aberration-corrected multifocal microscopy (acMFM). Using multicolor imaging to identify DNA damage sites, we were able to quantify its dynamic motion patterns in the nucleus and at DNA damage sites. While a large fraction of BRCA2 molecules localized near DNA damage sites appear immobile, an additional fraction of molecules exhibit restricted motion, providing a potential mechanism to retain an increased number of molecules at DNA lesions. Super-resolution microscopy revealed inhomogeneous localization of BRCA2 relative to other DNA repair factors at sites of DNA damage. This suggests the presence of multiple subcompartments at the chromatin surrounding the DNA lesion, which may play an important role in the contribution of BRCA2 to the regulation of the repair process.Significance statementDuring homology-mediated DNA double-strand break repair, BRCA2 is required to be present at DNA damage sites to mediate repair. One of its functions is to organize RAD51 in its central role of homology recognition. Using multifocal 3D single-molecule tracking, we show that BRCA2 exhibits specific restricted motion at marked DNA damage sites, while super-resolution microscopy reveals a clustered localization pattern for BRCA2. This work contributes to our understanding of how nuclear proteins organize in the nucleus to control essential processes. The observed dynamics and nanoscale organization of BRCA2 helps to understand how BRCA2 localizes to DNA lesions to exert its function when and only when it is needed.

This paper shows the changes in soil properties in the fourth year after the application of two kinds of environmentally burdensome wastes. One of the wastes was mineral—carboniferous rock from a coal mine, and the other one was organic—post-fermentation sludge from an agricultural biogas plant. The wastes were applied once to a soil of poor quality—a Podzol. The hypothesis to be verified was that one-time application of waste carboniferous rock and/or post-fermentation sludge to a soil has a beneficial effect on the physical status of the soil, and the changes in the soil properties have a permanent character. Also, based on the experiment results, we suggested how these types of waste should be applied to soil. For that purpose, an assessment was performed of the durability, range, and character of changes in soil properties, inter alia: soil texture (PSD), total organic carbon content (TOC), particle density (PD), bulk density (BD), total porosity (TP), air capacity (FAC), air permeability (FAP), sampling moisture (SM), field water capacity (FC), available water (AWC), unavailable water (UWC), and hydraulic conductivity (Ks). Some soil properties have been improved by the use of post-fermentation sludge and the combined application of the two wastes. These were the following soil properties: PSD, TOC, BD, TP, and SM. However, changes to the soil air-water properties (FAC, FAP, FC, AWC, UWC, and Ks) were unfavorable. The effect of the waste’s application was permanent, as differences in soil properties were still visible in the fourth year after their addition. The observations made in the course of the experiment indicate that natural utilization of wastes requires a lot of consideration and should be focused on keeping the balance in the relations between the environmental functions of the soil.

Hitting formulas have been studied in many different contexts at least since [Iwama,89]. A hitting formula is a set of Boolean clauses such that any two of them cannot be simultaneously falsified. [Peitl,Szeider,05] conjectured that hitting formulas should contain the hardest formulas for resolution. They supported their conjecture with experimental findings. Using the fact that hitting formulas are easy to check for satisfiability we use them to build a static proof system Hitting: a refutation of a CNF in Hitting is an unsatisfiable hitting formula such that each of its clauses is a weakening of a clause of the refuted CNF. Comparing this system to resolution and other proof systems is equivalent to studying the hardness of hitting formulas. We show that tree-like resolution and Hitting are quasi-polynomially separated. We prove that Hitting is quasi-polynomially simulated by tree-like resolution, thus hitting formulas cannot be exponentially hard for resolution, so Peitl-Szeider's conjecture is partially refuted. Nevertheless Hitting is surprisingly difficult to polynomially simulate. Using the ideas of PIT for noncommutative circuits [Raz-Shpilka,05] we show that Hitting is simulated by Extended Frege. As a byproduct, we show that a number of static (semi)algebraic systems are verifiable in a deterministic polynomial time. We consider multiple extensions of Hitting. Hitting(+) formulas are conjunctions of clauses containing affine equations instead of just literals, and every assignment falsifies at most one clause. The resulting system is related to Res(+) proof system for which no superpolynomial lower bounds are known: Hitting(+) simulates the tree-like version of Res(+) and is at least quasi-polynomially stronger. We show an exponential lower bound for Hitting(+).

PURPOSE: Assuming that the concept of value-based leadership is one of the most effective ways of managing a contemporary organization, authors - based on their experience and a broad literature review - decided to identify key values that should be taken into account within the discussed management style., DESIGN/METHODOLOGY/APPROACH: The paper was created on the basis of the knowledge and experience accumulated by the authors in the course of their military service, both while performing official duties as officers in commanding and managerial positions in a military unit, and during the teaching process as lecturers at the Military University of Land Forces. The authors' participation in military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan was also an important empirical basis for the analysis of the issues included in the study. The research material was collected in the course of participant observation during the fulfillment of a number of the aforementioned leadership roles and functions, and in the course of the didactic process at a military academy., FINDINGS: One of the most important achievements in the field of leadership, which is the ability to build sustainable organizations, aimed at achieving a common goal, which is the common good, is leadership based on values. The research succeeded in identifying the key values that are critical to the effective management of the organization. The analyzes made it possible to conclude that the dignity of the person and the common good occupy a priority place in the hierarchy of values that should be followed by every manager., PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS: The search for sources of effective leadership usually begins with defining the classic requirements for creating an effective organization, i.e., presenting the vision, mission, strategy, goals and tasks of the organization, so that decisions can be made as to the appropriate ways of its operation. Therefore, this adequacy should correspond in the first place with the "big five" announced by the leader. In this study, we examine whether we can replicate the findings of Stevenson and colleagues (2022), where the creative ability of GPT-3 was compared to human creativity on the Alternative Uses Test (AUT) - one of the most widely used verbal creativity tests – to establish the current state of AI's ability to come up with original and useful ideas. However, developments in this field are rapid and plenty – making the original study possibly already outdated. Moreover, as the authors mentioned, the comparison was not quite fair, as there was a difference in language (Dutch responses translated to English for humans and English responses for GPT-3) and there were differences in the instructions for GPT-3 and humans, where standard instructions were used for humans and optimized instructions for GPT-3. With this study, we want to replicate the findings of Stevenson et al. (2022) with minimal task differences for human participants and GPT runs, we will use the newest GPT engine (GPT-3.5-turbo), and we want to use a larger sample size. We will use the same scoring methods as in the previous study, as well as new ones to improve upon the flexibility measure, a measure that is often confounded with fluency. Also, in order to assess the response sets as a whole instead of assessing each response individually we will include snapshot creativity (Silvia et al., 2009). With this study, we not only want to compare GPT's and people's creative abilities, but also gain insight into the creative process of both and bring to light any similarities and differences between them.

Мета: аналіз потенціалу юридичних знань як чинника розвитку сучасного культурного та політико-правового простору, засобу розуміння й усвідомлення правової дійсності, а також інтелектуальної основи правомірної поведінки. Для досягнення вказаної мети аналізуються положення напрацювань українських та зарубіжних дослідників у галузі теорії держави і права, зокрема щодо феномену правосвідомість, юридичні знання у контексті аналізу їхнього місця у системі явищ і процесів, які впливають на виникнення та тенденції розвитку держави і права. Методи дослідження: при виконанні теоретичного дослідження використано відповідні методи, зокрема, аналітичний метод і метод узагальнення із залученням системного й культурологічного підходу. Результати: опрацьований матеріал і авторський підхід до феномену юридичних знань надав підставу для таких висновків: 1) опанування юридичними знаннями, передусім повсякденними, позитивно відображається на формуванні правової свідомості й правової культури особистості і, зрештою, суспільства; 2) юридичні знання, їхнє максимальне поширення й засвоєння, постають засобами консолідації суспільства, адже ці знання здатні виступати основою комунікативного простору зі значним конструктивним потенціалом щодо ефективних соціальних інститутів. Обговорення: однією з філософських парадигм сучасності є визнання того факту, що усі об’єкти, явища та процеси, що залучені у життєдіяльність людства, мають соціальну й особистісну інтерпретацію, зокрема, на підставі певних знань. Отож, важливим елементом культури особистості постає знання в його суб’єктивній формі, відповідно правової культури і правосвідомості – юридичні знання. Юридичні знання виступають в якості проміжної ланки між філософсько-правовими концепціями і практикою організації суспільного життя. Юридичне знання також формує певну позитивну систему комунікації у суспільстві. Зважаючи на вказане, обґрунтованою є особлива увага до юридичної освіти громадян, яка на сьогодні мало відповідає критеріям змістовності, практичності й масовості, наслідки чого очевидні.

Background: Despite advances in surgery and pharmacotherapy, there remains significant residual ischemic risk after coronary artery bypass grafting surgery. Methods: In REDUCE-IT (Reduction of Cardiovascular Events With Icosapent Ethyl–Intervention Trial), a multicenter, placebo-controlled, double-blind trial, statin-treated patients with controlled low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and mild to moderate hypertriglyceridemia were randomized to 4 g daily of icosapent ethyl or placebo. They experienced a 25% reduction in risk of a primary efficacy end point (composite of cardiovascular death, myocardial infarction, stroke, coronary revascularization, or hospitalization for unstable angina) and a 26% reduction in risk of a key secondary efficacy end point (composite of cardiovascular death, myocardial infarction, or stroke) when compared with placebo. The current analysis reports on the subgroup of patients from the trial with a history of coronary artery bypass grafting. Results: Of the 8179 patients randomized in REDUCE-IT, a total of 1837 (22.5%) had a history of coronary artery bypass grafting, with 897 patients randomized to icosapent ethyl and 940 to placebo. Baseline characteristics were similar between treatment groups. Randomization to icosapent ethyl was associated with a significant reduction in the primary end point (hazard ratio [HR], 0.76 [95% CI, 0.63–0.92]; P =0.004), in the key secondary end point (HR, 0.69 [95% CI, 0.56–0.87]; P =0.001), and in total (first plus subsequent or recurrent) ischemic events (rate ratio, 0.64 [95% CI, 0.50–0.81]; P =0.0002) compared with placebo. This yielded an absolute risk reduction of 6.2% (95% CI, 2.3%–10.2%) in first events, with a number needed to treat of 16 (95% CI, 10–44) during a median follow-up time of 4.8 years. Safety findings were similar to the overall study: beyond an increased rate of atrial fibrillation/flutter requiring hospitalization for at least 24 hours (5.0% vs 3.1%; P =0.03) and a nonsignificant increase in bleeding, occurrences of adverse events were comparable between groups. Conclusions: In REDUCE-IT patients with a history of coronary artery bypass grafting, treatment with icosapent ethyl was associated with significant reductions in first and recurrent ischemic events. Based on a combination of a system-oriented approach and a synergetic concept, the requirements for the design of tribological polymer composite materials with high-modulus fillers are formed. These materials are considered as an open dynamic system that evolves during operation. The principles of the synergetic concept for tribotechnical systems taking into account the theory of evolution and self-organization to ensure its self-governing and self-supporting development are considered. It is revealed that in the process of interaction of elements of the tribosystem the cooperation of local areas of their materials is formed with the emergence of a critical number of such areas and the creation of an information field about their functioning. The direction of self-organization of processes and states of parts materials in the tribotechnical system and expediency of using the conclusions of the synergetic concept in the construction of polymer composite materials, as well as their nonequilibrium are shown. The issues of creation of tribophysical bases of wear resistance of tribotechnical systems with conjugations of the details made or strengthened by polymeric composite materials are considered. Polymer composite materials are considered as a set of interacting ensembles of local areas, the principle of maximum wear resistance (reliability) is used. Tribological principles and requirements to creation and substantiation of expediency and efficiency of use of high-modulus fillers in polymers are formulated.

A \emph{subcube partition} is a partition of the Boolean cube $\{0,1\}^n$ into subcubes. A subcube partition is irreducible if the only sub-partitions whose union is a subcube are singletons and the entire partition. A subcube partition is tight if it "mentions" all coordinates. We study extremal properties of tight irreducible subcube partitions: minimal size, minimal weight, maximal number of points, maximal size, and maximal minimum dimension. We also consider the existence of homogeneous tight irreducible subcube partitions, in which all subcubes have the same dimensions. We additionally study subcube partitions of $\{0,\dots,q-1\}^n$, and partitions of $\mathbb{F}_2^n$ into affine subspaces, in both cases focusing on the minimal size. In this work complex metal-oxide catalysts with the general formula 5 wt% Ni/Ce0·75Zr0.25-x(Nb,Ti)xO2-δ were synthesized by the solvothermal method using supercritical alcohols followed by nickel deposition. The catalysts were characterized and studied in ethanol dry reforming reaction (EDR) in the temperature range 600–750 °C. XRD and TEM showed that the synthesis method provides incorporation of doping cations into the ceria-zirconia fluorite structure, leading to mixed oxides formation. The effect of doping cations on structural and surface properties of 5 wt% Ni/Ce0·75Zr0.25-x(Nb,Ti)xO2-δ and activity in the EDR reaction was investigated. Oxygen deficiency δ increases with the introduction of titanium and niobium cations, which contributes to the bifunctional reforming mechanism implementation with rapid oxidation of coke precursors and activation of СО2 at surface oxygen vacancies. TPO-O2 analysis after reaction showed no carbon formation above 700 °C, and a few carbon deposits (not exceeding 4%) even after significant catalyst deactivation at 600 °C.

Two series of Ni/Ce(Ti/Nb)ZrO2 catalysts were prepared using citrate route and original solvothermal continuous flow synthesis in supercritical isopropanol and studied in dry reforming of methane (DRM). TEM, XPS and FTIRS of adsorbed CO confirm influence of support composition and preparation method on the catalysts’ morphology and surface features. The oxygen mobility was studied by isotope heteroexchange with C18O2. After testing in DRM, carbon deposits after catalysts’ testing in DRM were investigated by temperature-programmed oxidation with thermo-gravimetric analysis. The lowest amounts of carbon deposits were obtained for unmodified Ni-CeZr and Ni-CeNbZr compositions. Ti addition lead to an increased amount of carbon, which was removed at higher temperatures. The use of supercritical supports also resulted in the formation of a higher amount of coke. Catalysts prepared by the supercritical synthesis were tested in DRM for 25 h. The highest activity drop was observed in the first three hours. For all compositions, close values of carbon deposits were revealed.

The spread of COVID-19 poses a threat to humanity, as this pandemic has forced many global activities to close, including educational activities. To reduce the spread of the virus, education institutions have been forced to switch to E-learning using intelligible and free educational platforms, despite the challenges facing this sudden transformation. The focus of this study is E-learning from the perspective of students and teachers on the use and implementation of E-learning systems in higher education institutions (HEIs) in foreign language teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic. This article aims to identify issues related to the use, advantages, disadvantages and barriers of E-learning programs at the university by comparing the views of students and teachers who use this method of learning in long-term unusual circumstances. Four aspects were identified and characterized, namely: the extent of the use of E-learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, the advantages, disadvantages and obstacles of implementing E-learning in foreign language learning in in higher education institutions. In the course of our research, we have achieved some results that shed light on some of the problems, challenges and benefits of using E-learning systems instead of traditional education in higher education institutions in general and during emergencies. The most popular programs among teachers for online classes were highlighted and characterized in this article.

The purpose of this study was to identify problems in performing the functions of the investigating judge related to the protection of human rights and freedoms during detention and to offer solutions to them. The study is based on the use of methods of sampling and prognosis; system approach; descriptive statistics; comparison and collation; descriptive analysis method. We found out that the restriction of certain rights and freedoms of a person, detained on suspicion of having committed a crime, is quite legitimate, but some rights are violated due to abuse of police authority. The right to liberty and the right to security of person, the right to effective remedy and fair trial, and the right to respect for private and family life are most often violated during detention. Judicial control should be carried out in compliance with the following principles: immediacy, automaticity, conducting trial proceedings within a reasonable time. In order to universalize judicial control over the protection of human rights and freedoms during detention, we propose to develop an international legal document, regulating the conduct of judicial control.

RESUMEN A partir de los relatos de experiencia de los equipos de investigación que tuvieron un rol en el desarrollo de productos científico-tecnológicos para enfrentar la pandemia por el virus SARS-CoV-2, nos proponemos reflexionar sobre las dinámicas de la ciencia que se pusieron en evidencia en un contexto de emergencia del todo excepcional. Observando los modos de adaptación y respuesta a esa crisis en seis equipos de investigación, este trabajo focaliza en las expectativas, los alcances y las limitaciones de la transferencia de conocimiento y tecnología a la sociedad. Asimismo, se complejiza la noción misma de transferencia, en el marco de una política científica que impulsó la producción científico-tecnológica nacional para hacer frente a un problema de salud pública de gran impacto. ABSTRACT Based on the experience reports of principal investigators and graduate students who played a role in developing scientific and technological products to address the SARS-CoV-2 virus pandemic, we aim to reflect on the dynamics of science that were brought to light in an entirely exceptional emergency context. By observing the modes of adaptation and response to the crisis of six research teams, this work focuses on the expectations, scopes, and limitations of knowledge and technology transfer to society. The complexity of the notion of “transference” is analyzed within the framework of a scientific policy that promotes national scientific-technological production to deal with a public health problem of enormous impact.

The Alternative Uses Test (AUT; Guilford, 1967) is widely used to measure creative potential and divergent thinking. It has many different versions and is often adapted, with or without theoretical considerations and transparent reporting, exacerbating the AUT’s low validity and reliability. People often perform poorly on the AUT with standard instructions – whereas more often than not, in research, the goal is to gauge people’s optimal or at least average creative or divergent thinking ability. In this research project, we will try to enhance people’s performance on the AUT by providing positive or negative examples of AUT responses – i.e. what are we not looking for. We assess whether adding examples enhances creative performance and if certain types are helpful or harmful. We will also explore how these instructional nuances affect the performance of a generative language model (GPT-3) on the AUT to gain insight into how to optimally assess artificial creativity.

AI large language models have (co-)produced amazing written works from newspaper articles to novels and poetry. These works meet the standards of the standard definition of creativity: being original and useful, and sometimes even the additional element of surprise. But can a large language model designed to predict the next text fragment provide creative, out-of-the-box, responses that still solve the problem at hand? We put Open AI's generative natural language model, GPT-3, to the test. Can it provide creative solutions to one of the most commonly used tests in creativity research? We assessed GPT-3's creativity on Guilford's Alternative Uses Test and compared its performance to previously collected human responses on expert ratings of originality, usefulness and surprise of responses, flexibility of each set of ideas as well as an automated method to measure creativity based on the semantic distance between a response and the AUT object in question. Our results show that -- on the whole -- humans currently outperform GPT-3 when it comes to creative output. But, we believe it is only a matter of time before GPT-3 catches up on this particular task. The objective: to investigate the influence of the scheme of basic pharmacologic therapy on the dynamics of carbohydrate and lipid metabolism in a group of patients with type 2 diabetes on the background of the use of group DSME. Materials and methods. The study was performed on the basis of the Department of Family Medicine and Outpatient Care within the territorial boundaries of the Kyiv agglomeration. The study included 117 patients with type 2 diabetes. The study group of patients was randomly divided into a groups of classroom training (38 people), a group of remote training (39 people) and a control group (40 people), which did not receive additional training load. Subsequently, patients from the study groups took the appropriate course in classroom (outpatient) or remote (using Skype video conferencing) formats. The education of patients methodically and meaningfully complied with the consensus recommendations of the American Diabetes Association, the American Association of Diabetes Educators and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Subsequently, the relevant indicators of diabetes were monitored at 3 and 12 months after the start of the study and the correlation of their dynamics with the basic scheme of pharmacologic therapy ts and its change during the observation period was analyzed. Results. During the observation period, changes in the scheme of hypoglycemic and hypolipidemic therapy were made in 10 (8,5 %) and 20 (17,0 %) patients. It should be noted that the relevant changes were bilateral, both in the direction of simplification and in the direction of intensification of drug therapy regimens. Analysis of the ratio of 3- and 12-month dynamics of carbohydrate and lipid metabolism and the scheme of hypoglycemic and hypolipidemic therapy in all study groups did not reveal a significant correlation. Conclusions. There is no significant correlation between the basic scheme of hypoglycemic and hypolipidemic therapy with the dynamics of carbohydrate and lipid metabolism at the stages of 3- and 12-month check-points. The lack of influence of the pharmacologic therapy scheme on the positive dynamics of diabetes mellitus emphasizes the importance of group DSME in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus as a separate independent factor of improving of the disease.

Countries around the world recognize the numerous social, economic and environmental advantages of promoting liquid biofuels. They invest in its development and introduce tax incentives for its manufacture and tariffs of production regulation. In most studies, the process of synthesizing fatty acid esters takes a long time from 1 to 8 h. In this work, the synthesis of fatty acid esters was carried out in the range of volumetric ratios of ethanol to linoleic type oil in order to increase the kinetics of the process. The main parameters of the synthesis were studied by use of magnetic stirred tank reactors in a parallel reactor system, H.E.L. The synthesis was carried out in the presence of a homogeneous alkaline catalyst. The volumetric ratio of ethanol to oil was maintained at 1:1, 2:1, 3:1, 4:1 and 5:1. The amount of catalyst added to the reaction mixture ranged from 0.25 to 2.5% by the weight of the reaction alcohol. The dryness of ethanol varied from 91 to 99%. Effective process conditions have been established to reduce the reaction time from 2.5 h to 5 min while maintaining a high degree of conversion. The results obtained during the study suggest the possibility of using a continuous reactor to produce fatty acid esters from linoleic raw materials containing up to 16% of free fatty acids. This also means the possibility of using second generation biofuel feedstock.

In this study, the history of the pine marten (Martes martes) in Ireland is reviewed, revealing that the population has undergone several retractions and expansions over the last few hundred years. Here, we consider the genetic legacy of this flux in fortunes and its likely impacts upon the conservation and future recovery of the species. Using nuclear DNA markers (microsatellites), we found that the genetic diversity present in Ireland today is like that of other Irish carnivores, but there is evidence of a genetic bottleneck and low effective population size that might result in further reductions of diversity in the future. There is a lack of genetic structure, showing that the population has not been fragmented genetically, despite the low percentage of woodland in Ireland. We also reviewed the mitochondrial DNA diversity present in the Irish population and showed that there is only one contemporary and one extinct haplotype present; a reduced diversity relative to other Irish carnivores. The Irish haplotypes, both extant and extinct, are shared or are genetically similar to haplotypes commonly present in southern Europe today. We discuss the possibility of reinforcing the Irish population with animals from these sources to help supplement and maintain genetic diversity for future generations.

Purpose: The aim of the research is to indicate the essence of strategic air transport management in the direction of security. Approach/Methodology/Design: The analysis of the literature review, the "case study" method, expert interviews and statistical analysis of the obtained data were used in order to formulate generalized conclusions that will be used to build reliability and safety models, and then to develop the concept of an IT support system. Findings: The problem of managing the transport of strategic goods is poorly recognized. The outsourcing of transport services to military entities takes place regularly and is an effective strategy to support PAF in the field of specialists and means of transport, Studies have found that PAF has a large number of errors. Companies that provide transportation services to military entities should be also prepared for securing side quests. As a result of the research, the strategy implementation procedures transport of goods, including procedures for commissioning transport from a civil carrier were founded. The frequency of adverse events that affect safety. The implementation of transport processes were also identified. Practical Implications: The conducted research will allow in the next stage to develop a detailed model management of the transport of strategic goods in the context of its safety. They will also make it possible to estimate the level of risk in particular phases model and allow us to develop organizational solutions that eliminate or limit frequency of adverse events. This paper investigates the morphological and location features influencing the sediment texture of small reservoirs located within the embanked floodplain of a lowland river. Bed and suspended loads deposited in these reservoirs, settle as sediments, whose texture could indicate factors shaping processes within the embanked floodplains. Sediment samples were extracted from three sections of each of 10 reservoirs and measured with respect to the grain size distribution. The statistical analyses determined factors affecting the texture and enabled the comparison of the reservoirs and their initial, middle, and final sections. Factors such as the length of the reservoir, its area, the distance from the river, the width of the embankment area, and the location along the river were found to have a negligible effect on proportion of sediment fractions. The maximum depth and the angle between the reservoir axis and the riverbed were the only two characteristics that notable contributed to the differences in the sediment texture. In deeper reservoirs the content of sand fraction was considerably higher, while simultaneously the share of silt was lower. The angle value influenced the sediment texture of each reservoir in general as well as considering their final parts. As the angle increased, the sand content increased as well, whereas the shares of silt and clay decreased. The maximum depth and the angle between the river and the reservoir can be considered as the key determinants of the sediment texture in small floodplain reservoirs.

We propose a mathematical model of production of multilayer filtering porous permeable materials (PPM) with variable porosity by the method of dry radial-isostatic pressing of ShKh15 steel powder together with a pore-forming material. We find the distribution of density along the radius of a hollow PPM obtained by radial-isostatic pressing. On the basis of theoretical calculations, we analyze the factors responsible for the inhomogeneity of the distribution of porosity in PPM. The fact that the distribution of porosity in a cylindrical pressed PPM is inhomogeneous is established and confirmed by the results of computer simulations. It is shown that the degree of porosity increases with the radius.

Old industrial regions are the areas of concentration of numerous problems. Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts with their economic profile formed at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries belong to such type of territories. The main purpose of this study is the analysis of the development features, the search for the mechanisms to revitalise the regions of eastern Ukraine, especially after the beginning of the armed conflict in 2014. The development problems of the old industrial regions of Donbas are addressed in the article on the basis of in-depth statistical analysis and modern conceptual approaches to the reform of such territories. The study found that by the beginning of the armed conflict, the development path of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts were typical of the old industrial regions. Due to the uneven extent of occupation of the economic potential, the regions of eastern Ukraine reacted differently to the events of 2014. Based on the analysis of the dynamics of macroeconomic indicators, the structure of the economy and investments, the article proves that currently Donetsk oblast has almost retained the main trends of previous development. However, the part of Luhansk oblast controlled by the government of Ukraine is gradually turning into an agro-industrial region and losing the features of the old industrial region. The recovery of the old industrial regions of Donbas should be based on real reindustrialization and post-industrialization, should include measures aimed at human capital development (change of mentality, overcoming paternalistic approaches, intensification of entrepreneurial activity) and the formation of a favourable business climate. The main tasks for Luhansk oblast now are overcoming regional disparities, logistical alienation of the northern districts and integration of the territory on new economic ties. The scientific novelty of the research lies in defining the features of the transformation of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts economic landscape since the beginning of the armed conflict, substantiating the most relevant approaches to reforming the old industrial regions of Donbas.

Management of air transportation of strategic goods is a very complex task with many challenges. This paper describes the method used in documenting the requirements for an IT system intended to support management of air transportation of military and dual-use goods. The work was completed in conjunction with a private logistics company. The project produced a Software Requirements Specification document and a working prototype. The document and prototype are held by the Military University of Land Forces of Poland. Requirements were solicited from numerous sources. A private logistics company, numerous books and personal experience of the team members all contributed to requirements. These requirements were then analyzed and a final set of requirements was produced. Screen mock-ups and a working prototype were developed. Selected screen shots are within the paper. The working prototype was developed by constructing a database and using a code generator to produce a web application.
