The purpose of this paper is to explore the effect of big data analytics-capable business process management systems (BDA-capable BPMS) on ambidextrous organizations’ agility. In particular, how the functionalities of BDA- capable BPMS may improve organizational dynamism and reactiveness to challenges of Big Data era will be explored. A theoretical analysis of the potential of BDA- capable BPMS in increasing organizational agility, with particular attention to the ambidextrous organizations, has been performed. A conceptual framework was subsequently developed. Next, the proposed conceptual framework was applied in a real-world context.

How to engage and motivate employees to share their knowledge has become one of the main organizational strategic goals. This study, supported by the Flow theory and Kahn’s theory of engagement, investigated how the impact of gamification on user’s knowledge-sharing practices. We ran an online survey of 147 participants from a large organization that implemented social engagement and motivational systems to leverage internal knowledgesharing practices. Our study revealed important drivers of job motivation (enjoyment, reciprocal benefit and recognition), which led to higher degree of job engagement and performance expectancy. From this study we derive important insights for practice and theory.

The objective of this research in progress is to understand how colour affects users’ decision-making processes in the context of warning banner messages. So far, little research has examined this complex psychological and cognitive process wherein the psychology of colour can play an important role in the relationship between the warning message and the user’s decision-making process (the decision to continue or to exit). We aim to close the existing research gap by studying the effects of colour on users’ decision-making processes across different cultures. More precisely, we intend to understand: 1) how different colour applications (black, blue, yellow, red, green, white) influence users’ decision-making processes; 2) how diverse cultural groups are affected by different colour applications and 3) how warning messages impact the users’ decision-making processes during the first and successive event occurrences. We build our work on the theory of psychological reversals to colour, supported by the Cognitive-Affective model of communication. We intend to conduct online experiments across different cultures, measuring actual users’ behaviour. The results of this study will reveal new factors that influence users’ attention. This could advance our understanding of the psychological process that precedes the decision itself and may offer important theoretical and practical implications.

Despite existing countermeasures to combat malicious actions, users are the last line of defense to protect personal and organizational assets. Given that users often ignore warning messages that motivate compliant behavior, the issue of protecting personal and organizational assets is exacerbated. Messages that are largely ignored cannot have any impact on attitudes, motivation, or behavior. Therefore, crafting messages that increase attention and comprehension regarding specific threats and ways to cope with these threats is vital. This research combines the communication-human information processing (C-HIP) model with protection motivation theory (PMT) to assess how warning message content affects adherence especially when users pay attention to the content of the warning message. In essence, this study considers a holistic view of examining the channel (warning message), attention, comprehension and their influence on attitudes and beliefs, motivation, and behavior. Additionally, we propose including alternative courses of action in digital warning messages to increase secure attitudes, beliefs, and behavior. We test this holistic model through a series of field and lab experiments to evaluate message comprehension, attitudes, and beliefs and capture actual attention and secure behavior. Open source software (OSS) has reshaped and remodeled various layers of the organizational ecosystem, becoming an important strategic asset for enterprises. Still, many enterprises are reluctant to adopt OSS. Knowledge about technological risks and their importance for IT executives is still under researched. We aim to identify the technological risks and their importance for OSS adoption during the risk identification phase in the enterprise context. We conducted an extensive literature review, identifying 34 risk factors from 88 papers, followed by an online survey of 115 IT executives to study the risk factors' importance. Our results will be very valuable for practitioners to use when evaluating, assessing and calculating the risks related to OSS product adoption. Also, researchers can use it as a base for future studies to expand current theoretical understanding of the OSS phenomenon related to IT risk management.

The world is currently experiencing an unprecedented technological revolution. We are witnessing a great increase of new and different ways in which technology is influencing and impacting human life. Mobile apps, social networking, the digital economy, Web 2.0, etc., are just a few keywords that redefine the way we do things at all levels in life. What about information security? Are security awareness trainings effective? Do employees pay attention to them? Is Information Security really 90% about people or 10% about technology ?

Mobile contactless payments (MCP) technology brings an important dual use dilemma where consumer adoption can be halted if consumer is not fully persuaded that the security risk behind the technology use is very low. Currently, although many projects on the implementation of MCP solutions have commenced, MCP is still not picking up. Why? To fill this research gap and better understand how security is affecting MCP implementation, we employ triangulation approach to understand if security is the main obstacle to further adoption and extension of MCP solution. The results reveal that consumer security is the crucial factor in a successful MCP implementation. Our result offers important and new insights for practitioners as it provides a security dimension to consider in the entire contactless payment ecosystem.
