The rapid progress of emerging technologies is driving digital empowerment in nearly every industry, including the agricultural sector. Regardless of the benefits derived from this evolution, there are several security threats involved, which can have a significant impact on the agricultural domain. This paper provides a review of digital agriculture from the security perspective. First, we provide a clear introduction to the digital agriculture ecosystem from a technological standpoint. Next, we highlight the key aspects of digital agriculture security to get the reader on board. Then, we focus on the current and potential threats facing these particular systems, as well as current and/or possible mitigation strategies to address these threats. Finally, we discuss future research directions and open challenges.

In this paper we revisit $D_s \to f_0$ form factors from the light-cone sum rules with the light meson light-cone distribution amplitudes. The main motivation of this study is the differential decay width of $D_s \to \left[\pi\pi \right]_{\rm S} e \nu_e$ measured recently by BESIII collaboration and the $D_s \to f_0$ form factor extracted under the intermediate resonant model. Our result of the differential width of $D_s^+ \to f_0 (\to \left[ \pi\pi \right]_{\rm S}) e^+ \nu_e$ decay obtained under the narrow width approximation is a litter bit lower than the data, the result obtained under the resonant Flatt\'e model is in consistent with the data while shows a litter bit larger, indicating a sizable mixing $\sim 20\degree$ between ${\bar s}s$ and ${\bar u}u+{\bar d}d$ of $f_0$. In order to obtain a model independent prediction, we suggest to calculate $D_s \to \left[ \pi\pi \right]_{\rm S}$ form factors with the isoscalar scalar dipion light-cone distribution amplitudes. Our calculation of $D_s \to \left[ \pi\pi \right]_{\rm S}$ form factors is carried out at the leading twist level due to the finite knowledge of dipion system, the result of differential width shows a moderate evolution in contrast to that obtained from the narrow width approximation and the Flatt\'e model, revealing a bright prospect to study the four-body leptonic decays of heavy mesons with the dimeson light-cone distribution amplitudes., Comment: 23 pages, 14 figures, 7 tables

In an out-of-distribution (OOD) detection problem, samples of known classes (also called in-distribution classes) are used to train a special classifier. In testing, the classifier can (1) classify the test samples of known classes to their respective classes and also (2) detect samples that do not belong to any of the known classes (i.e., they belong to some unknown or OOD classes). This paper studies the problem of zero-shot out-of-distribution (OOD) detection, which still performs the same two tasks in testing but has no training except using the given known class names. This paper proposes a novel and yet simple method (called ZOC) to solve the problem. ZOC builds on top of the recent advances in zero-shot classification through multi-modal representation learning. It first extends the pre-trained language-vision model CLIP by training a text-based image description generator on top of CLIP. In testing, it uses the extended model to generate candidate unknown class names for each test sample and computes a confidence score based on both the known class names and candidate unknown class names for zero-shot OOD detection. Experimental results on 5 benchmark datasets for OOD detection demonstrate that ZOC outperforms the baselines by a large margin.

Electroactive acid anhydride with multicarbonyl is highly promising for electrochemical energy storage because of its high specific capacity and environmental benignity. Its low electrical conductivity and high dissolution in organic electrolyte, however, result in poor cycling and rate capabilities. Here, we report a naphthalene polyimide derivative (NPI) synthesized by using anhydride under condensation polymerization conditions, along with its composite with graphene (NPI-G) fabricated via in situ polymerization. The composite delivers a high reversible capacity and outstanding cycling stability and rate capability as a cathode for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) owing to the formation of a polymer, the improvement in the electrical conductivity brought about by the highly dispersed graphene sheets, and the enhancement of structural stability resulting from the π-π stacking interaction between the phenyl groups of NPI and the six-member carbon rings of graphene. This investigation sheds light on the development, design, and screening of next-generation organic electrode materials with high performance for SIBs.

The ultrastable VO2·xH2O nanobelt with crystal water has been prepared successfully by a simple and easy large-scale hydrothermal method as cathode materials for aqueous zinc-ion batteries with ultra-high reversible capacity and rate capability.

Zinc-ion batteries (ZIBs) have received much research attention due to their advantages of safety, non-toxicity, simple manufacture, and element abundance. Nevertheless, serious problems still remain for their anodes, such as dendrite development, corrosion, passivation, and the parasitic hydrogen evolution reaction due to their unique aqueous electrolyte system constituting the main issues that must be addressed, which are blocking the further advancement of anodes for Zn-ion batteries. Herein, we conduct an in-depth analysis of the problems that exist for the zinc anode, summarize the main failure types and mechanisms of the zinc anode, and review the main modification strategies for the anode from the three aspects of the electrolyte, anode surface, and anode host. Furthermore, we also shed light on further modification and optimization strategies for the zinc anode, which provide directions for the future development of anodes for zinc-ion batteries.

BACKGROUND Sepsis is a major medical challenge. Magnolol is an active constituent of Houpu that improves tissue function and exerts strong anti-endotoxin and anti-inflammatory effects, but the mechanism by which it reduces intestinal inflammation in sepsis is yet unclear. AIM To assess the protective effect of magnolol on intestinal mucosal epithelial cells in sepsis and elucidate the underlying mechanisms. METHODS Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was used to measure tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-1β (IL-1β), IL-6, and regulated on activation, normal T-cell expressed and secreted (RANTES) levels in serum and ileal tissue in animal studies. The histopathological changes of the ileal mucosa in different groups were observed under a microscope. Cell Counting Kit-8 and cell permeability assays were used to determine the concentration of drug-containing serum that did not affect the activity of Caco2 cells but inhibited lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced decrease in permeability. Immunofluorescence and Western blot assays were used to detect the levels of RANTES, inhibitor of nuclear factor kappa-B kinase β (IKKβ), phosphorylated IKKβ (p-IKKβ), inhibitor of nuclear factor kappa-B kinase α (IκBα), p65, and p-p65 proteins in different groups in vitro. RESULTS In rats treated with LPS by intravenous tail injection in the presence or absence of magnolol, magnolol inhibited the expression of proinflammatory cytokines, IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α in a dose-dependent manner. In addition, magnolol suppressed the production of RANTES in LPS-stimulated sepsis rats. Moreover, in vitro studies suggested that magnolol inhibited the increase of p65 nucleation, thereby markedly downregulating the production of the phosphorylated form of IKKβ in LPS-treated Caco2 cells. Specifically, magnolol inhibited the translocation of the transcription factor nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) from the cytosol into the nucleus and down-regulated the expression level of the chemokine RANTES in LPS-stimulated Caco2 cells. CONCLUSION Magnolol down-regulates RANTES levels by inhibiting the LPS/NF-κB signaling pathways, thereby suppressing IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α expression to alleviate the mucosal barrier dysfunction in sepsis.

Ultrasonic vibration technology has great potential to weaken hard rocks. Understanding the effect of ultrasonic vibration loading parameters is essential to accelerate the application of this technology in practical rock engineering. In the present work, three-factor mixed-level orthogonal ultrasonic vibration rock breaking tests were conducted to investigate the influence of the main loading parameters, including confining pressure, vibration frequency, and static force, on the damage of granite specimens. The individual and combined influences were analyzed according to the porosity increase and P-wave decrease of granite specimens using the variance analysis method. The results show that the combined effect of the static force and vibration frequency mainly promotes fatigue damage of specimens, that the confining pressure determines the damage behaviour and failure mode of specimens under ultrasonic vibration, and that the confining pressure and vibration frequency are the main factors that cause the fracture concentration in the upper part of specimens, an effect mechanistically driven by the obvious load energy attenuation. The research results provide theoretical guidance for the application of ultrasonic vibration technology.

Sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) have attracted much scientific interest for use in large-scale energy storage systems because sodium is cheaper than lithium. However, the large radius of Na+ and barriers to Na+ transport result in sluggish kinetics and complicated structural distortion, leading to unsatisfactory rate capability and poor cycling stability. It therefore is essential to develop an electrode with enhanced kinetics and a stable structure during cycling to improve SIB performance. Among the various layered oxide cathodes, those with a spinel-like structure could play an important role in boosting electron transport because of their excellent intrinsic conductivity, including by coordinating with Na+ insertion/extraction. Moreover, thanks to the inherent high stability of the spinel-like phase, it could function as a stabilizer for host cathode structures. This review summarizes recent advances in spinel engineering on layered oxide cathodes to boost Na+ transport kinetics and provide structural stability to achieve high-performance SIBs, focusing particularly on post-spinel structures, layered oxide integrated spinel-like structures, and spinel transition. The insights proposed in this review will be useful for guiding rational structural engineering and design to drive the development of new materials and chemistries in Na-based electrode materials.

Domain-adaptive pre-training (or DA-training for short), also known as post-training, aims to train a pre-trained general-purpose language model (LM) using an unlabeled corpus of a particular domain to adapt the LM so that end-tasks in the domain can give improved performances. However, existing DA-training methods are in some sense blind as they do not explicitly identify what knowledge in the LM should be preserved and what should be changed by the domain corpus. This paper shows that the existing methods are suboptimal and proposes a novel method to perform a more informed adaptation of the knowledge in the LM by (1) soft-masking the attention heads based on their importance to best preserve the general knowledge in the LM and (2) contrasting the representations of the general and the full (both general and domain knowledge) to learn an integrated representation with both general and domain-specific knowledge. Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is a subtype of breast cancer with high mortality, and the efficacy of monotherapy for TNBC is still disappointing. Here, we developed a novel combination therapy for TNBC based on a multifunctional nanohollow carbon sphere. This intelligent material contains a superadsorbed silicon dioxide sphere, sufficient loading space, a nanoscale hole on its surface, a robust shell, and an outer bilayer, and it could load both programmed cell death protein 1/programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-1/PD-L1) small-molecule immune checkpoints and small-molecule photosensitizers with excellent loading contents, protect these small molecules during the systemic circulation, and achieve accumulation of them in tumor sites after systemic administration followed by the application of laser irradiation, thereby realizing dual attack of photodynamic therapy and immunotherapy on tumors. Importantly, we integrated the fasting-mimicking diet condition that can further enhance the cellular uptake efficiency of nanoparticles in tumor cells and amplify the immune responses, further enhancing the therapeutic effect. Thus, a novel combination therapy “PD-1/PD-L1 immune checkpoint blockade + photodynamic therapy + fasting-mimicking diet”was developed with the aid of our materials, which eventually achieved a marked therapeutic effect in 4T1-tumor-bearing mice. The concept can also be applied to the clinical treatment of human TNBC with guiding significance in the future.

Large Language Models (LLMs) have demonstrated impressive zero-shot capabilities in long-form text generation tasks expressed through natural language instructions. However, user expectations for long-form text rewriting is high, and unintended rewrites (''hallucinations'') produced by the model can negatively impact its overall performance. Existing evaluation benchmarks primarily focus on limited rewriting styles and sentence-level rewriting rather than long-form open-ended rewriting.We introduce OpenRewriteEval, a novel benchmark that covers a wide variety of rewriting types expressed through natural language instructions. It is specifically designed to facilitate the evaluation of open-ended rewriting of long-form texts. In addition, we propose a strong baseline model, RewriteLM, an instruction-tuned large language model for long-form text rewriting. We develop new strategies that facilitate the generation of diverse instructions and preference data with minimal human intervention. We conduct empirical experiments and demonstrate that our model outperforms the current state-of-the-art LLMs in text rewriting. Specifically, it excels in preserving the essential content and meaning of the source text, minimizing the generation of ''hallucinated'' content, while showcasing the ability to generate rewrites with diverse wording and structures.

BackgroundHuman immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) epidemic in China is featured by geographical diversity of epidemic patterns. Understanding the characteristics of regional HIV-1 epidemic allows carrying out targeted prevention and controlling measures. This seven-year cross-sectional study was conducted in Heilongjiang, one province of Northeast China, where newly diagnosed infection is fast increasing yearly, but temporal HIV-1 epidemic trend is largely unknown.MethodsInformation of 1,006 newly diagnosed HIV-1-infected participants were collected before antiretroviral therapy during 2010–2016 in Heilongjiang province. HIV-1 genotype was identified based on the viral gag and env gene sequences. Recent infection was determined by Limiting-Antigen Avidity assays. Comparison analyses on the median ages, CD4 counts, proportions of stratified age groups and CD4 count groups, and rates of recent HIV-1 infection among different population and sampling times were performed to understand temporal HIV-1 epidemic features.ResultsHomosexual contact among men who have sex with men (MSM) was the main transmission route and CRF01_AE was the most dominant HIV-1 genotype. During 2010–2016, the HIV-1 epidemic showed three new changes: the median age continued to decline, the cases with a CD4 count more than 500 cells/μl (CD4hi cases) disproportionally expanded, and the recent HIV-1 infection rate steadily increased. MSM cases determined the temporal trend of HIV-1 epidemic here. Increase of young MSM cases (aged ConclusionYoung MSM have become a new hotspot and vulnerable group for HIV-1 transmission in Heilongjiang Province, Northeast China. The rapid increase in the number of young MSM cases, mainly those with CRF01_AE infection, changed temporal HIV-1 epidemic pattern here. Measures for prevention and control of HIV-1 infection among this population are urgently needed in the future.

Artificial intelligence (AI) software in radiology is becoming increasingly prevalent and performance is improving rapidly with new applications for given use cases being developed continuously, oftentimes with development and validation occurring in parallel. Several guidelines have provided reporting standards for publications of AI-based research in medicine and radiology. Yet, there is an unmet need for recommendations on the assessment of AI software before adoption and after commercialization. As the radiology AI ecosystem continues to grow and mature, a formalization of system assessment and evaluation is paramount to ensure patient safety, relevance and support to clinical workflows, and optimal allocation of limited AI development and validation resources before broader implementation into clinical practice. To fulfil these needs, we provide a glossary for AI software types, use cases and roles within the clinical workflow; list healthcare needs, key performance indicators and required information about software prior to assessment; and lay out examples of software performance metrics per software category. This conceptual framework is intended to streamline communication with the AI software industry and provide healthcare decision makers and radiologists with tools to assess the potential use of these software. The proposed software evaluation framework lays the foundation for a radiologist-led prospective validation network of radiology AI software. Learning Points: The rapid expansion of AI applications in radiology requires standardization of AI software specification, classification, and evaluation. Developing hard carbon with a high initial Coulombic efficiency (ICE) and very good cycling stability is of great importance for practical sodium-ion batteries (SIBs). Defects and oxygen-containing groups grown along either the carbon edges or the layers, however, are inevitable in hard carbon and can cause a tremendous density of irreversible Na+ sites, decreasing the efficiency and therefore causing failure of the battery. Thus, eliminating these unexpected defect structures is significant for enhancing the battery performance. Herein, we develop a strategy of applying a soft-carbon coating onto free-standing hard-carbon electrodes, which greatly hinders the formation of defects and oxygen-containing groups on hard carbon. The electrochemical results show that the soft-carbon-coated, free-standing hard-carbon electrodes can achieve an ultrahigh ICE of 94.1% and long cycling performance (99% capacity retention after 100 cycles at a current density of 20 mA g-1), demonstrating their great potential in practical sodium storage systems. The sodium storage mechanism was also investigated by operando Raman spectroscopy. Our sodium storage mechanism extends the "adsorption-intercalation-pore filling-deposition" model. We propose that the pore filling in the plateau area might be divided into two parts: (1) sodium could fill in the pores near the inner wall of the carbon layer; (2) when the sodium in the inner wall pores is close to saturation, the sodium could be further deposited onto the existing sodium.

Intercalation-based anode materials can be considered as the most promising anode candidates for large-scale sodium-ion batteries (SIBs), owing to their long-term cycling stability and environmental friendliness, as well as their natural abundance. Nevertheless, their low energy density, low initial coulombic efficiency, and poor cycling lifespan, as well as sluggish sodium diffusion dynamics are still the main issues for the application of intercalation-based anode materials in SIBs in terms of meeting the benchmark requirements for commercialization. Over the past few years, tremendous efforts have been devoted to improving the performance of SIBs. In this Review, recent progress in the development of intercalation-based anode materials, including TiO2 , Li4 Ti5 O12 , Na2 Ti3 O7 , and NaTi2 (PO4 )3 , is summarized in terms of their sodium storage performance, critical issues, sodiation/desodiation behavior, and effective strategies to enhance their electrochemical performance. Additionally, challenges and perspectives are provided to further understand these intercalation-based anode materials.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the protective effects and molecular mechanisms of Lizhong decoction (理中汤, LZD) against non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). METHODS: Male Wistar rats were fed a high-fat diet for four weeks to induce NAFLD, and were administered LZD by gavage for four weeks. Potential therapeutic targets for NAFLD were analyzed using network pharmacology. Liver pathology was evaluated using Oil Red O and hematoxylin-eosin staining. Furthermore, mitochondrial function, lipid metabolism, oxidative stress, and inflammatory response were examined. RESULTS: Rats with NAFLD exhibited high levels of hepatic damage and cholesterol deposition. Moreover, apoptosis was increased, superoxide dismutase and glutathione content were reduced, malondialdehyde content was increased, and the protein expression of inflammatory cytokines and p-c-Jun N-terminal kinase was increased. The LZD treatment ameliorated mitochondrial dysfunction, reduced liver damage, inhibited oxidative stress and inflammatory response, upregulated peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR)-γ expression, and suppressed dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP4) expression in the liver. CONCLUSION: It was found that LZD alleviates NAFLD by activating PPAR-γ and inhibiting DPP4.

Many genes responsible for melanin biosynthesis in fungi were physically linked together. The PKS gene clusters in most of the melanin-producing fungi were regulated by the Cmr1. It was found that a close rearrangement of the PKS gene clusters had evolved in most of the melanin-producing fungi and various functions of melanin in them were beneficial to their adaptation to the changing environments. The melanin-producing fungi had undergone at least five large-scale differentiations, making their PKS gene clusters be quickly evolved and the fungi be adapted to different harsh environments. The recent gene losses and expansion were remarkably frequent in the PKS gene clusters, leading to their rapid evolution and adaptation of their hosts to different environments. The PKS gene and the CMR1 gene in them were subject to a strong co-evolution, but the horizontal gene transfer events might have occurred in the genome-duplicated species, Aspergillus and Penicillium.

The effects of Sc and Zr element on the recrystallization behavior and microstructure evolution of Al-Mg alloy had been researched in this paper, and meanwhile, the microstructure and mechanical properties of the friction stir welding joints were also analyzed. The results show that the recrystallization and grain growth behavior of Al-Mg-Sc-Zr alloy can be inhibited effectively by microalloying with Sc and Zr. Compared with Al-Mg and Al-Mg-Zr alloys, the recrystallization start temperature and finish temperature of Al-Mg-Sc-Zr alloy increase significantly, and the strength of alloy sheet which subjected to stabilizing annealing is increased by more than 50MPa. Moreover, the recrystallization softening effect of the welded joints microstructure, which caused by the welding temperature field and welding heat input, can be weaken by microalloying with Sc and Zr, the width of recrystallization zone is reduced, the microstructure and properties of the welded joints are improved. The friction stir welding coefficients of Al-Mg-Sc-Zr alloy increases to 86.9%.

Solar insecticidal lamps (SILs) are widely used in agriculture for the purpose of effectively controlling pests and reducing pesticide dosage. With the increasing deployment of SILs, there are more and more reports about theft and destruction of SILs, seriously affecting the pest control effect and leading to great economic losses. Unfortunately, many efforts remain unsuccessful, since people can destruct the components of SIL in part but not steal the whole SIL, which cannot be detected by GPRS module or can only be labeled as a fault of component. To realize the broader effect of anti-theft and anti-destruction in the scenario of Solar Insecticidal Lamps Internet of Things (SIL-IoTs), there were two types of designs which would enable substantial improvements. On one hand, SIL was reformed and designed to obtain more information from different kinds of sensors and increase the difficulty of theft and destruction of SILs. Four modules were equipped including gated switch, voltage and current module, emergency power module, acceleration sensor module. Gated switch was used to judge whether the gate of power was open or closed. Voltage and current module of battery, solar panel, lamp, and metal mesh were used to judge whether the components were stolen or destructed. Emergency power module was used for communication module after the battery being stolen. Acceleration sensor module was used to judge whether the SIL was shaking by stealer. On the other hand, the auxiliary equipment of SIL, i.e., unmanned aerial vehicle insecticidal lamp (UAV-IL), was put forward for emergency applications after theft and destruction of SIL, e.g., deployment, tracking, patrol inspection, and so on. Through the above-mentioned hardware design and application of UAV-IL, more information from different kinds of sensors could be obtained to make judgements about the situation of theft and destruction. However, considering the short occurrence time of theft and destruction, the design was not enough to realize fast and accurate judgments. Therefore, six key research issues in the design of internal hardware, software algorithm and appearance structure design level were discussed, including 1) optimal design of anti-theft and anti-destruction of SILs; 2) establishment of anti-theft and anti-destruction judgment rules of SILs; 3) fast and accurate judgments of theft and destruction of SILs; 4) emergency measures after theft and destruction of SILs; and 5) prediction and prevention of theft and destruction of SILs; 6) optimal calculation to reduce the load of network data transmission. The anti-theft and anti-destruction have crucial roles in equipment safety, which can be extended to various agricultural applications.

It has been well documented that different strains of Aureobasidium spp. can synthesize and secrete over 30.0 g/L of polymalate (PMA) and the produced PMA has many potential applications in biomaterial, medical and food industries. The substrates for PMA biosynthesis include glucose, xylose, fructose, sucrose and glucose or fructose or xylose or sucrose-containing natural materials from industrial and agricultural wastes. Malate, the only monomer for PMA biosynthesis mainly comes from TCA cycle, cytosolic reduction TCA pathway and the glyoxylate cycle. The PMA synthetase (a NRPS) containing A like domain, T domain and C like domain is responsible for polymerization of malate into PMA molecules by formation of ester bonds between malates. PMA biosynthesis is regulated by the transcriptional activator Crz1 from Ca2+ signaling pathway, the GATA-type transcription factor Gat1 from nitrogen catabolite repression and the GATA-type transcription factor NsdD.
