This paper focuses on the interdisciplinary research on the design of a smart gateway for managing the dynamic error code testing collected and generated by the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) from the automotive industry. The techniques used to exchange information between the ECU code errors and knowledge bases, based on data fusion methods, allowed us to consolidate and ensure data reliability, and then to optimize processed data in our distributed electronic systems, as the basic state for Industry 4.0 standards. At the same time, they offered optimized data packets when the gateway was tested as a service integrator for ECU maintenance. The embedded programming solutions offered us safe, reliable, and flexible data packet management results on both communication systems (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Provider (TCP/IP) and Controller Area Network (CAN) Bus) on the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) tested for diesel, high-pressure common rail engines. The main goal of this paper is to provide a solution for a smart, hardware–software, Industry-4.0-ready gateway applicable in the automotive industry.

Work equipment must provide compliance with the essential safety and health requirements applicable from the design and manufacturing stage to ensure a high level of protection of social interests, safety and health at work, and environmental protection. Non-conformities are discovered during the initial commissioning of work equipment in some circumstances due to incorrect design and/or manufacture, resulting in unsafe and non-compliant equipment that is defective when placed on the market and marketed. The purpose of this article is to present the research findings. The goal was to assess the risks associated with the security aspects of digital paper and cardboard printing machinery, to ensure compliance with current safety and health regulations, and to limit the risk of operating defective products. The study offered research results on the establishment of safety and compliance conditions, in order to design a methodology for assessment and technical inspection of work equipment, based on risk assessment and taking into account the usual and anticipated use of the work equipment. Introduction on the market, to improve the efficiency of technical inspection and market surveillance operations by detecting and generating risk profiles for work equipment manufacturer non-conformity.

Occupational risk assessment is a prevention tool used to manage safety and health at work in the national economy sectors of activity.Within the operation and maintenance in underground electrical installations, several major risk factors are identified, mainly due to work equipment cumulated with risk factors generated by the work environment and workload.To highlight the working conditions and the technical requirements of the underground electrical installations, the activity carried out for 50 years was analyzed, taking into account the lifespan of the electrical installations. Also, the events and accidents at work, the assessments of the risk in the workplace was analysed and represents a synthesis of research studies carried out so far.The research highlights the role of safety measures aimed to ensure the safety and health of workers working in underground electrical installations, mainly about work equipment and the means of work against electrocution to efficiently manage occupational risks and reduce workplace accidents and occupational disease, as well as technical events in electrical installations.

The procedures for individual’s identification and medical information storage must ensure prompt, easy and safe identification of those who need emergency medical services. This requires a means to identify people based on a cheap technology, using easy matching analysis that does not require complex electronic devices. This is possible by means of fingerprint scanning. The paper proposes a method of storing relevant medical information based on biometric identification and for this reason we have developed an optimal system that allows the person identification based on fingerprint, the storage/access to information in a centralized database and the delivery of reports containing relevant personal and medical data. The developed biometric system provides a method for storing relevant primary health information based on biometric identification that lead to a prompt, easy and secure determination of the identity of people who require medical emergency intervention and their relevant medical information. This solution provides the possibility of taking the right decisions and immediate actions by authorized medical staff due to the access to personal information (name, ID, address, phone number, picture, contact person) and relevant medical information (blood type, RH, allergies, chronic diseases, organ donor option, resuscitation option) stored in a central database. The use of electrical insulating materials in the manufacture of electrical insulating equipment is the primary prevention and protection measure against electrocution. It must ensure the highest protection of the workers. The study aims to present the results of studies over behaviour of e electrical insulating materials under the influence of the thermal risk factors, to verify the functionality and to ensure the safety function throughout their use. Electrical insulating materials and equipment intended for use as protection mean in low and high voltage electrical installations have been tested. The verifications aimed at identifying the technical and safety parameters of the electrical insulating materials and protective equipment, in case of an event generated by one or more thermal factors or in combination with other professional risk factors, to test and guarantee the applicable technical and safety requirements.

The event-by-event (E-by-E) fluctuations have been studied for relativistic heavy ion collisions and compared by theoretical prediction of available event generators. The multiplicity fluctuations are sensitive to QCD phase transition and to the presence of critical point in the QCD phase diagram. These fluctuations also provide baselines for other event-by-event (E-by-E) measurements. In the present article, a modest approach attempt has been made for a logical study of event-by-event (E-by-E) charge fluctuations in the relativistic nuclear collisions of proton-proton (p-p) and nucleus-nucleus (A-A) interactions. Finally, simulations by Monte Carlo Generators (MCGs) have been done and findings were found within good agreements with other works.

We live in a technology driven era where each day new gadgets improve the way we live our lives. Many resources are being spent on building these devices that often turn obsolete overnight. Taking into account that these electronics have a long-term impact on the environment, a waste management system must be embedded in the electronic product lifecycle. In this paper, we propose a monitoring system for recycling batteries from electronic equipment and devices. This solution covers specific waste management issues to manage and reduce battery waste and to recover valuable materials and components. A solution for the continuous monitoring of each battery waste container is also proposed. The solution involves the storage of all information regarding the recycling process, such as pickup date and time, collector’s name, quantity, and location. The research is also extended for smartphone usage. This is an important feature for collectors who need to access data in real time from any location. The mobile application directly reads the weight of battery waste, automatically saves the date and time, and stores the location along with any other useful information.

RightPollex is an innovative product patented and developed by a multidisciplinary team from the University of Petrosani. The paper presents not only the idea and implementation possibilities of this patent, but also the current stage on the path towards the development of startups, an initiative of our university together with a private investor. The result of this initiative is JV Sensor Ventures that supports several startups.

A new method has been applied for the study of intermittency in the collisions of 28Si AgBr at 14.6 A GeV for the produced relativistic charged particles by using the method of mixed factorial moment (MFM). In this paper an analysis has been made for the presence of fractal behavior with three different approaches of Scaled factorial Moments (SFMs) named as- horizontal, vertical and mixed (horizontal and vertical together). The non-statistical fluctuations of relativistic charged particles have been calculated on events with different degree of centrality. These results have been compared with the results of simulated data obtained from UrQMD model and we find a good agreement between experimental data and simulated data.

The separation column used for experimentations one model can be configured in two ways: one - two columns of different diameters placed one within the other extension, and second way, one column with set diameter [1], [2]. The column separates the carbon isotopes based on the cryogenic distillation of pure carbon monoxide, which is fed at a constant flow rate as a gas through the feeding system [1],[2]. Based on numerical control systems used in virtual instrumentation was done some simulations of the distillation process in order to obtain of the isotope 13C at high concentrations. The experimental installation for cryogenic separation can be configured from the point of view of the separation column in two ways: Cascade - two columns of different diameters and placed one in the extension of the other column, and second one column with a set diameter. It is proposed that this installation is controlled to achieve data using a data acquisition tool and professional software that will process information from the isotopic column based on a logical dedicated algorithm. Classical isotopic column will be controlled automatically, and information about the main parameters will be monitored and properly display using one program. Take in consideration the very-low operating temperature, an efficient thermal isolation vacuum jacket is necessary. Since the “elementary separation ratio” [2] is very close to unity in order to raise the (13C) isotope concentration up to a desired level, a permanent counter current of the liquid-gaseous phases of the carbon monoxide is created by the main elements of the equipment: the boiler in the bottom-side of the column and the condenser in the top-side.

Electrical devices for operation in potentially explosive atmospheres are designed and built in accordance with European standard EN 50015: 1995 ex. the pressurized enclosure "p". The type of protector p, by using a protective gas in the housing is intended to prevent the formation of an explosive atmosphere within it, while maintaining an overpressure to the surrounding atmosphere and, where appropriate, by the use dilution. Research conducted for pressurized encapsulation aimed at developing new procedures for determining the parameters of pressurization to allow safe use of electrical appliances. Pressurization with compensation for losses allegedly maintaining overpressure inside the enclosure when the outlets are closed, is made by feeding protective gas in an amount sufficient to fully compensate for losses from the housing inevitable pressurized and its associated pipework. The conditions and necessary measures that are required for appliances and equipment with potential ignition of explosive atmospheres are detailed in the SR EN 50016/2000. For pressurized encapsulation protection mode, the electric equipment can be maintained safety by the overpressure created inside them and in the supply pipes with air. The paper presents a modern method to determine the parameters of the electric equipment with pressurization enclosures. For controlling of such equipment, a specific algorithm has been developed and laboratory tested.

Literature shows some bankruptcy methods for determining the financial distress status of companies and based on this information we chosen Altman statistical model because it has been used a lot in the past and like that it has become a benchmark for other methods. Based on this financial analysis flowchart, programming software was developed that allows the calculation and determination of the bankruptcy probability for a certain rate of failure Z-score, corresponding to a given interval that is equal to the ratio of the number of bankrupt companies and the total number of companies (bankrupt and healthy) interval.

This paper describe some possibilities to minimize voltages switching-off risks from the mining power networks, in case of insulated resistance faults by using a predictive diagnose method. The cables from the neutral insulated power networks (underground mining) are designed to provide a flexible electrical connection between portable or mobile equipment and a point of supply, including main feeder cable for continuous miners, pump cable, and power supply cable. An electronic protection for insulated resistance of mining power cables can be made using this predictive strategy. The main role of electronic relays for insulation resistance degradation of the electrical power cables, from neutral insulated power networks, is to provide a permanent measurement of the insulated resistance between phases and ground, in order to switch-off voltage when the resistance value is below a standard value. The automat system of protection is able to signalize the failure and the human operator will be early informed about the switch-off power and will have time to take proper measures to fix the failure. This logic for fast and automat switch-off voltage without aprioristic announcement is suitable for the electrical installations, realizing so a protection against fires and explosion. It is presented an algorithm and an anticipative relay for insulated resistance control from three-phase low voltage installations with insulated neutral connection.

Insulation resistance measurement is one of the most important tests required by standards and regulations in terms of electrical safety. Why these tests are is to prevent possible accidents caused by electric shock, damage to equipment or outbreak of fire in normal operating conditions of electrical cables. The insulation resistance experiment refers to the testing of electrical cable insulation, which has a measured resistance that must be below the imposed regulations. Using a microcontroller system data regarding the insulation resistance of the power cables is acquired and with SCADA software the test results are displayed.

The proposed paper shows some experimental results of a research in metallic structures inspection by using a high definition camera controller by high processing capabilities. The dedicated ARM Cortex-M4 initializes the ARM Cortex-M0 system for image acquiring. Then, by programming options, we are action for patterns (abnormal situations like metal cracks, or discontinuities) types and tuning, for enabling overexposure highlighting and adjusting camera brightness/exposure, to adjust minimum brightness, and to adjust the pattern's teach threshold. The proposed system has been tested in normal lighting conditions from the typical site.

The protecting electrical equipment in use are subject to various factors generated by the use, maintenance, storage and working environment, which may change the characteristics of protection against electric shock. The study presents the results of research on the behaviour over time of protective characteristics of insulating covers of material of work equipment in use, in order to determine the type and periodicity of safety tests. There were tested and evaluated safety equipment with plastic and insulating rubber covers used in operations of verifying functionality, safety and maintenance of machinery used in manufacturing industries and specific services from electric, energy and food sector.

This paper is focused on research dedicated to measure the bucket wheel bearing temperature of the bucket wheel excavator (BWE). It proposes a measurement method for heating friction materials because is difficult to detect the temperature variation in the bearing. The major issue is to detect the generated infrared light according to the material detection. The temperature is considered the major signal of the wheel reliability and a remotely temperature detection method is proposed and because the sleeve bearing is a crucial part of the excavator a predictive measurements system for buckled wheel axis system was designed.

This research describes the behaviour of equipment and safety devices during use in extreme environmental conditions, in order to establish the technical conditions and additional health and safety requirements during operation, to ensure the health and safety of users, regardless of conditions and working environment in which they are use. The studies have been conducted both on new equipment and means of protection used in electrical installations. There has been evaluated protective equipment made of insulating rubber, reinforced fiberglass or PVC. They have been followed the technical characteristics and protection against electric shock by measuring the leakage current of different insulating materials.

The main parameters governing wind power economics include: investment costs; operation and maintenance costs; turbine lifetime, electricity production/average wind speed, etc. Mature wind power plant (WPP) infrastructures still require a large investment for to maintain and manage these infrastructures effectively. The aim of this paper is to identify the matters from maintenance in WPP areas and to do a literature review of the major aspects in a wind turbine that should be monitored. Finally, a virtual monitoring instrument, using HP VEE Pro Software was developed, to control a WPP, based on inclinometers and acoustic signals transducers.

The symmetry of voltages, among other parameters, into real power networks, is essential for ensuring optimum performances of the electrical systems and a standard quality of energy. To control this, there are specific electric and electronic relays, which are hardware programmed to survey symmetrical components of currents and voltages, [1], [2]. The paper describes a fast flowchart to control the positive sequence, negative sequence and zero sequence components of voltages and currents that are generated into the real power systems, using the facilities of the VEE Pro software — for simulation and a data acquisition board — for real time control with the PC, as a complex protective relaying.

The paper presents a new predictive algorithm for the control and protection of electric power networks that will be implemented In switching power equipment for hazardous areas in potentially explosive atmosphere. Simulated model using HPVEE Pro6 software and microcontroller CY8C29466 hardware Implementation were designed to work with the predictive algorithm.
