4. Study on the Spatial Structure and Drivers of Agricultural Carbon Emission Efficiency in Belt and Road Initiative Countries

Agricultural carbon emissions are one of the major causes of global climate change. As some of the world’s largest agricultural producers and consumers, countries along the route of the Belt and Road initiative produce significant agricultural carbon emissions. An in-depth study on the efficiency of agricultural carbon emissions in countries along the route can help countries reduce environmental load while improving agricultural production, optimizing resource use, improving agricultural production efficiency, and achieving sustainable development goals, which is significant for global climate change mitigation. Based on the relational data and network perspective, this paper takes the agricultural carbon emission efficiency of 34 countries along the route of the Belt and Road Initiative from 1995 to 2020 as the research object. It integrates the social network analysis method and other methods to realize the expansion of agricultural carbon emission efficiency in the research method. The study shows that (1) agricultural carbon emission efficiency has more room for improvement and presents complex spatially linked network characteristics; (2) the spatial correlation network of agricultural carbon emission efficiency is relatively well connected, and there is a general spatial correlation and spatial spillover effect among countries; and (3) similar differences in the proportion of primary industries and differences in informatization levels help establish spatial correlations between regions and produce spatial spillover effects. It is imperative to change global economic growth, social development, and lifestyles through green development. This study is conducive to the international community’s formulation of differentiated agricultural carbon emission reduction support mechanisms for different countries to help the countries realize the transformation of agriculture and even overall economic development as soon as possible. At the same time, accelerating the pace of emission reduction and reducing the negative impact of agricultural carbon emissions are conducive to better responding to the challenges posed by global climate change.

To evaluate the current evidence of pregnancy outcomes among couples with recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) with abnormal karyotypes vs. those with normal karyotypes and among couples with RPL and abnormal karyotypes after receiving expectant management vs. preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD).Systematic review and meta-analysis.Academic medical centers.Pregnancy outcomes in 6,301 couples with RPL who conceived without medical intervention in 11 studies were analyzed. However, only 2 studies addressed the outcomes of couples with RPL and abnormal karyotypes after expectant management (75 cases) vs. PGD (50 cases).None.The pregnancy outcomes in couples with RPL with abnormal and normal karyotypes across included studies were evaluated.Compared with those with a normal karyotype, a significantly lower first pregnancy live birth rate (LBR) was found in couples with RPL with abnormal karyotypes (58.5% vs. 71.9%; odds ratio [OR], 0.55; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.46-0.65; ICouples with RPL and abnormal karyotypes had a higher miscarriage rate than couples with normal karyotypes but achieved a noninferior accumulated LBR through multiple conception attempts. In couples with RPL and abnormal karyotypes, PGD treatment did not increase the accumulated LBR but markedly reduced miscarriage rate compared with expectant management.

Recommended treatment regimen for human immune deficiency virus (HIV) infection includes protease inhibitors/ritonavir (PIs/r) combined with two-nucleoside reverse-transcriptase inhibitors (2NRTIs), which enable to achieve and maintain viral suppression, restore, and preserve immune function. However, there were inconsistent findings on the levels of interleukin-6 (IL-6) levels. Systematic review and meta-analysis were performed to quantify the pooled effects of PIs/r-based antiretroviral therapy (ART) on serum/plasma IL-6 levels in people living with the HIV (PLHIV). On‐line partial discharge (PD) monitoring is related to the safe and stable operation of power grid. However, the measured signal is inevitably affected by noise. Among a variety of noises, white noise is the most difficult to suppress and ubiquitous. It mainly determines the Cramer–Rao lower bound that cannot be crossed by all methods. This article proposes the Prony time‐series energy spectrum method to suppress white noise in a low signal‐to‐noise ratio environment. This method is divided into two parts: First, Prony time series energy spectrum is used to detect whether there is PD signals in the measured signal. Then, based on the least square method, the PD signal is estimated with the Prony model. In data analysis, this method can suppress ‐10dB white noise, while other methods have performed poorly or even failed under the same conditions. In general, this method has excellent anti‐noise performance compared to several other algorithms.

Item does not contain fulltext BACKGROUND: Two acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) subphenotypes (hyperinflammatory and hypoinflammatory) with distinct clinical and biological features and differential treatment responses have been identified using latent class analysis (LCA) in seven individual cohorts. To facilitate bedside identification of subphenotypes, clinical classifier models using readily available clinical variables have been described in four randomised controlled trials. We aimed to assess the performance of these models in observational cohorts of ARDS. METHODS: In this observational, multicohort, retrospective study, we validated two machine-learning clinical classifier models for assigning ARDS subphenotypes in two observational cohorts of patients with ARDS: Early Assessment of Renal and Lung Injury (EARLI; n=335) and Validating Acute Lung Injury Markers for Diagnosis (VALID; n=452), with LCA-derived subphenotypes as the gold standard. The primary model comprised only vital signs and laboratory variables, and the secondary model comprised all predictors in the primary model, with the addition of ventilatory variables and demographics. Model performance was assessed by calculating the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) and calibration plots, and assigning subphenotypes using a probability cutoff value of 0·5 to determine sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of the assignments. We also assessed the performance of the primary model in EARLI using data automatically extracted from an electronic health record (EHR; EHR-derived EARLI cohort). In Large Observational Study to Understand the Global Impact of Severe Acute Respiratory Failure (LUNG SAFE; n=2813), a multinational, observational ARDS cohort, we applied a custom classifier model (with fewer variables than the primary model) to determine the prognostic value of the subphenotypes and tested their interaction with the positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) strategy, with 90-day mortality as the dependent variable. FINDINGS: The primary clinical classifier model had an area under receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) of 0·92 (95% CI 0·90-0·95) in EARLI and 0·88 (0·84-0·91) in VALID. Performance of the primary model was similar when using exclusively EHR-derived predictors compared with manually curated predictors (AUC=0·88 [95% CI 0·81-0·94] vs 0·92 [0·88-0·97]). Contains fulltext : 252214.pdf (Publisher’s version ) (Open Access) BACKGROUND: Geoeconomic variations in epidemiology, the practice of ventilation, and outcome in invasively ventilated intensive care unit (ICU) patients without acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) remain unexplored. In this analysis we aim to address these gaps using individual patient data of four large observational studies. METHODS: In this pooled analysis we harmonised individual patient data from the ERICC, LUNG SAFE, PRoVENT, and PRoVENT-iMiC prospective observational studies, which were conducted from June, 2011, to December, 2018, in 534 ICUs in 54 countries. We used the 2016 World Bank classification to define two geoeconomic regions: middle-income countries (MICs) and high-income countries (HICs). ARDS was defined according to the Berlin criteria. Descriptive statistics were used to compare patients in MICs versus HICs. The primary outcome was the use of low tidal volume ventilation (LTVV) for the first 3 days of mechanical ventilation. Secondary outcomes were key ventilation parameters (tidal volume size, positive end-expiratory pressure, fraction of inspired oxygen, peak pressure, plateau pressure, driving pressure, and respiratory rate), patient characteristics, the risk for and actual development of acute respiratory distress syndrome after the first day of ventilation, duration of ventilation, ICU length of stay, and ICU mortality. FINDINGS: Of the 7608 patients included in the original studies, this analysis included 3852 patients without ARDS, of whom 2345 were from MICs and 1507 were from HICs. Patients in MICs were younger, shorter and with a slightly lower body-mass index, more often had diabetes and active cancer, but less often chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and heart failure than patients from HICs. Sequential organ failure assessment scores were similar in MICs and HICs. Use of LTVV in MICs and HICs was comparable (42·4% vs 44·2%; absolute difference -1·69 [-9·58 to 6·11] p=0·67; data available in 3174 [82%] of 3852 patients). The median applied positive end expiratory pressure was lower in MICs than in HICs (5 [IQR 5-8] vs 6 [5-8] cm H(2)O; p=0·0011). This letter proposes a search-free algorithm based on ESPRIT for angle and range estimation in monostatic multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar with frequency diverse array (FDA). In this algorithm, the angle is estimated by the ESPRIT algorithm, and the range is calculated by the least-squares principle. Thus, it is suited for FDA-MIMO radar works in linear and nonlinear frequency increments. Besides, the improved algorithm has better range estimation performance than the traditional ESPRIT algorithm. Simulation results prove the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

To enhance the nutritional value of highland barley (HB), this work investigated the effects of solid-state fermentation (SSF) by Agaricus sinodeliciosus var. Chaidam ZJU-TP-08 on nutrient content, phenolic components, antioxidant activities, and physicochemical characteristics of HB upon different pretreatments (germination, ultrasound and soaking). The results showed that germinated highland barley (GHB) exhibited higher levels of ergosterol (0.19 ± 0.01 mg/g) in all fermentation groups. The content of β-glucan was higher in the SSF-GHB, with an increase of 24.21% compared to the control. The content of total amino acids, dietary fiber, total phenols and flavonoids were higher in the fermentation HB pretreated by ultrasound, increasing respectively by 5.60%, 61.50%, 25.10% and 65.32% compared to the control group. In addition, the colonized HB exhibited excellent physicochemical characteristics, including increased water solubility index and decreased pasting characteristics. Herein, the nutritional value and the biological activities were enriched in the pretreated HB through SSF, indicating its potential application for nutrition-enriched functional foods.

Methotrexate (MTX) and iguratimod (IGU) are conventional synthetic disease modifying antirheumatic drugs widely used in the treatment of Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in China. Although MTX combined with IGU can significantly inhibit the progression of RA, some patients do not respond to the treatment. The purpose of this study is to explore the difference of serum protein expression between RA patients with good and poor response to the combined therapy by label-free quantitative proteomic approach. From the proteomics data, a total of 782 proteins in the serum of RA patients were detected, and of which 9 were upregulated and 18 were downregulated in the good response group compared to poor response group. Among them, four significantly differentially expressed proteins (RELN, LDHA, MRC1 and TKT) were further validated by multiple reaction monitoring (MRM)-based quantification approach, and three of them (RELN, LDHA and MRC1) were confirmed to be correlated with the response to MTX/IGU therapy. Logistic regression and ROC analysis indicated that the combination of RELN, LDHA and MRC1 had good performance in evaluating the response. This result proved the different serum proteins signature fingerprint between response group and non-response group; and highlighted the potential of the label-free and mass spectrometry-based quantitative proteomic approach in screening biomarkers for evaluating clinical response to MTX/IGU therapy in RA.

The proposed algorithm can reduce the computational complexity greatly compared to the two-dimensional MUSIC (2D-MUSIC) algorithm but have the same performance as the 2D-MUSIC algorithm. Purpose Congenital fibrosis of extraocular muscles type 1 (CFEOM1), a classical subtype of CFEOM, is characterized by restrictive ophthalmoplegia and ptosis. It is mainly caused by aberrant neural innervation of the extraocular muscles. This study aimed to investigate the genetic characteristics and clinical manifestations of CFEOM1 in Chinese families. Methods The clinical data, including ocular examinations, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and surgical procedures of affected individuals from 16 Chinese CFEOM1 families, were collected. The genomic DNA of 16 probands and their family members were sequenced for causative KIF21A gene mutations. Linkage analysis using microsatellite markers across KIF21A was also conducted. Results Affected individuals were presented with bilateral non-progressive ptosis, restricted horizontal eye movement, fixed infraduction of both eyes, compensatory chin-up head position, and neuromuscular abnormalities. Three heterozygous KIF21A mutations, c.2860C > T (p.R954W) (in eight families), c.2861G > T (p.R954L) (in two families), and c.2861G > A (p.R954Q) (in two families) were identified, which implied that hotspot mutations were common in Chinese CFEOM1 families. Germline Mosaicism was likely to be the cause of affected individuals with asymptomatic parents without KIF21A mutations presented in the eight families. Two affected individuals underwent modified levator muscle complex suspension surgery and achieved a good result without any complications. Conclusion Instead of evaluating the whole CFEOM1 gene variant, hotspot mutations could be given priority for screening. The occurrence of germline mosaicism has to be taken into account in genetic counseling. Patients with CFEOM1 who have ptosis may benefit from an innovative surgical procedure called modified levator muscle complex suspension.

- Abstract
In this letter, the issue of two-dimensional (2-D) direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation is discussed, and an extended virtual array based on covariance matrix (CM) or fourth-order cumulant (FOC) of signals from two subarrays is derived. Specifically, proposed method makes full use of sensors’ information by constructing virtual extended array, they can reduce the influence of noise and improve the Degrees-of-freedoms (DOFs) of arrays, thereby improving the estimation accuracy. Subsequently, the auto-paired angles can be obtained by CM of two subarrays (CMT). Simulations demonstrate the advantages of the proposed approach over the old one.

In this paper, the Cauchy mixture distribution is used for rigid and affine registration. The Cauchy function has a wider effective range than the general window function, so it has a greater information utilization ratio than most registration algorithms. This means that the method can quickly match point clouds without initial registration and corresponding points. On the other hand, the computational complexity of Cauchy mixture model is lower than that of widely used Gaussian mixture model. This means that the introduction of Cauchy mixture model will save computing resources. However, the log-likelihood function of the Cauchy mixture distribution is a nonlinear function that is difficult to solve. This paper proposes an optimization method for the Cauchy mixture model, and discusses the advantages of the Cauchy mixture model in rigid and affine registration. In the experiment, compared with several other algorithms, our method quickly and accurately registers point clouds.

Registering point clouds quickly and accurately has always been a challenging task. A lot of research based on Gaussian mixture model is widely used in recent years. However, few people use other models for point cloud matching. Therefore, this paper proposes a point cloud registration algorithm based on the Laplace mixture model. In this paper, sampling variance is used to replace the variance of the likelihood estimation to successfully overcome the nonlinear problem. In addition, the Laplace model has strong robustness, which is very suitable for point cloud matching of 3D laser scanning. In the experiment, compared with several other algorithms, proposed method quickly and accurately registers point clouds.

Due to complex disturbance environment, partial discharge (PD) monitor signal denoising is a necessary step to judge the state of equipment insulation. In the denoising process, it is difficult to suppress the white noise due to its wide frequency-domain distribution. To overcome these difficulties, most denoising algorithms need to artificially adjust some threshold parameters or select the number of decomposition layers according to the measured PD signals, which leads to the confusion of uncertainty, and the denoising performance depends on the parameter setting experience. Therefore, the denoising effect cannot be guaranteed in general. This article proposes a method without human intervention in choosing the threshold parameters or the decomposition layer numbers. First, the decomposition layers are directly determined from the spectral kurtogram of PD signal to obtain the reference signal. Second, the reference signal is denoised by $3\sigma $ threshold. At the start point obtained from the denoised signal and the end point obtained from the reference signal envelope, the reference signal is segmented in the time domain to obtain the final denoising PD signal. The denoising results of both the simulated and field-measured PD signals show that the proposed method can effectively remove the white noise and recover PD signal more accurately.

Estimating the utility harmonic impedance of a point of common coupling (PCC) is of significance to harmonic emission level evaluation. The most existing methods for estimating the utility harmonic impedance are based on the assumptions that the background harmonic fluctuates in a small range, and the customer harmonic impedance is much larger than the utility harmonic impedance, etc. However, in modern power grid, due to the influence of filter and reactive power compensator, those assumptions are not always satisfied. Just depending on the stochastic characteristic of the utility harmonic current, this article proposes a method for estimating the utility harmonic impedance based on semiparametric estimation. The input of the proposed method is the measured voltage and current at the PCC. The kernel density estimation method, one of the nonparametric methods, is used to depict the probability distribution characteristics of the utility harmonic current, and the impedance is obtained according to maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) criterion. The performance of the proposed method is verified by simulation experiments and field-measured data. The results validate that the proposed method outperforms the existing methods when the background harmonic is fluctuating and the utility harmonic impedance is close to the customer harmonic impedance.

The detection process of partial discharge (PD) ultra-high frequency (UHF) signal is easily affected by white noise and periodic narrowband noise, which hinder the fault diagnosis of high-voltage electrical appliances. In order to extract PD UHF signal and suppress noise effectively, this paper provides a new method to detect PD UHF signal by EDSSV and low rank RBF neural network. Firstly, the singular value decomposition (SVD) is performed on the mixed noises of PD signal. Secondly, the peak index of energy difference spectrum of singular value (EDSSV) is selected as optimal singular value threshold, and then the periodic narrowband noise is eliminated by reconstructing the effective rank order. Finally, radial basis function (RBF) neural network is used to approximate the denoised PD signal, and Gaussian window filter is used to extract the PD signal. To verify the performance of the proposed method, we compared it with other three algorithms in simulation and field detection, including adaptive singular value decomposition (ASVD), singular value decomposition based on S-transform and MTFM (S-SVD) and EMD-WT algorithms. Particularly, four evaluation indices are designed for the detection data, which consider both the noise suppression and feature preservation. The results demonstrate the validity of the proposed method with higher signal-to-noise ratio and less waveform distortion.

A reliable, super selective and sensitive nitrogen-doped carbon dots (N-CDs) nanoprobe that can quantitatively and quickly detect the concentration of metronidazole (MTZ) in multiple samples was built. We first prepared the N-CDs using N-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)-N′-ethylcarbodiimide hydrochloride (EDC·HCl) as the precursor via a green, facile one-step hydrothermal method. The as-synthesized N-CDs were characterized by a variety of analytical and spectroscopic techniques, which revealed excitation-dependent fluorescence behavior with the maximum excitation and emission wavelengths being 335 and 370 nm, respectively. Significantly, the fluorescence emission of N-CDs underwent initial quenching upon the addition of MTZ via the inner filter effect (IFE), indicating a prospective detection method for MTZ. The linear range for MTZ detection was 0.1–250 μM, and the corresponding limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) were calculated to be only 70 nM and 233.33 nM, respectively. Moreover, due to the negligible cytotoxicity and superior biocompatibility, the fabricated N-CDs show a promising prospect for detecting MTZ in living cells. In general, our proposed N-CDs-based fluorescence sensing platform possesses super low LOD and LOQ values, wide linear range, and satisfactory selectivity, and can be applied to the detection of MTZ in multiple real samples.

This article proposes a novel method for estimating multiharmonic sources in the underdetermined measurement system. In the proposed methodology, supposing that the number of harmonic measurements (HMs) is less than that of unknown state variables, the HM system can be mathematically described as underdetermined matrix equations, which has infinitely many solutions corresponding to all possibilities of the locations and the current emissions of the actual harmonic sources. Because the harmonic current emissions from nonharmonic source buses are approximately zero, by fitting the harmonic current emission of every possible nonharmonic source bus combinations and selecting the minimum fitting residual of all combination cases, thus, the true number, locations, and current emissions of harmonic sources are determined. Compared with the existing methods, the proposed method has less dependence on the placement of HMs and requires less prior information of harmonic sources. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by simulation and field case, with respect to a high correct location rate of more than 90%.

This work aims to provide an effective deep learning framework to predict the vector-soliton solutions of the coupled nonlinear equations and their interactions. The method we propose here is a physics-informed neural network (PINN) combining with the residual-based adaptive refinement (RAR-PINN) algorithm. Different from the traditional PINN algorithm which takes points randomly, the RAR-PINN algorithm uses an adaptive point-fetching approach to improve the training efficiency for the solutions with steep gradients. A series of experiment comparisons between the RAR-PINN and traditional PINN algorithms are implemented to a coupled generalized nonlinear Schr\"{o}dinger (CGNLS) equation as an example. The results indicate that the RAR-PINN algorithm has faster convergence rate and better approximation ability, especially in modeling the shape-changing vector-soliton interactions in the coupled systems. Finally, the RAR-PINN method is applied to perform the data-driven discovery of the CGNLS equation, which shows the dispersion and nonlinear coefficients can be well approximated.

Suppressing the background noise of partial discharge (PD) is one of the key issues for accurately diagnosing the state of electrical equipment insulation. To solve this problem, this study proposes a new denoising method based on frequency spectrum clustering and local mean value decomposition. First, the K-means clustering is employed on the frequency spectrum to pick out narrow-band interference frequencies. Next, the PD signal with white noise is decomposed by local mean decomposition into different product function components, and the components contain more information about time–frequency than the intrinsic mode functions originated from empirical mode decomposition. Besides, the adaptive threshold is utilised to eliminate white noise in the components. Finally, the denoised PD signal is synthesised by these denoised components. The proposed method and three traditional methods are applied to simulated and field-detected noisy PD signals, respectively. The results of the evaluation indicators confirm that the proposed method is better than the existing PD denoising methods.

Background Infection surveillance and risk factor analysis are among the most important prerequisites for the prevention and treatment of nosocomial bacteria infections, which are the demands for both infected and non-infected patients. Purpose To explore the risk factors for nosocomial bacterial infection of patients with COVID-19, and further to provide a theoretical basis for scientific prevention and control of nosocomial bacterial infection. Methods Between 10 January 2020 and 9 March 2020, we collected data of 212 patients with COVID-19 and then explored the influence of age, gender, length of stay, use of ventilator, urinary catheterization, central venous catheterization, white blood cell (WBC) count and procalcitonin on the nosocomial bacterial infection of patients with COVID-19 by a retrospective study. Results There were 212 confirmed cases of COVID-19, of which 31 cases had nosocomial bacterial infections, with an incidence of 14.62%. The most common types of nosocomial bacterial infections were lower respiratory tract (12 cases, 38.71%), which was the most frequent site, followed by urinary tract (10 cases, 32.26%), blood stream (7 cases, 22.58%), upper respiratory tract (1 case, 3.23%) and gastrointestinal tract infection (1 case, 3.23%). The incidence of nosocomial bacterial infection was significantly correlated with age, arteriovenous catheterization, urinary catheterization, WBC count and procalcitonin. Moreover, multivariate analysis confirmed that WBC (OR 8.38, 95% CI 1.07 to 65.55), procalcitonin (OR 4.92, 95% CI 1.39 to 17.33) and urinary catheterization (OR 25.38, 95% CI 5.09 to 126.53) were independent risk factors for the nosocomial bacterial infection of patients with COVID-19. Conclusion Understanding the risk factors for nosocomial bacterial infection of patients with COVID-19 and strengthening the monitoring of various susceptible factors are helpful to control the occurrence of nosocomial bacterial infection in the COVID-19 isolation wards.

Online partial discharge (PD) monitoring is an important means to detect insulation deterioration. However, it is difficult to extract the PD signal due to various interferences in the field. Noisy PD signal is used to judge the status of insulation, which would affect the conclusion; therefore, denoising PD signal is a major task in online PD monitoring. Common methods for PD denoising include the empirical mode decomposition (EMD) and wavelet transform; however, the denoising results are highly dependent on the modal aliasing, the selection of mother wavelets, and decomposition levels. This article proposes a method to solve these problems. This method uses traditionally singular value transform [singular value decomposition (SVD)] to reconstruct narrowband interference and remove it. Next, the empirical wavelet transform (EWT) is carried out for the PD signal that has residual white noise. Then, the noisy signal is decomposed into several modes corresponding to each spectrum segment. The $3~\sigma $ principle is used to denoise the modes with large kurtosis, and the modes are combined into a reference signal. The start-end positions of PD signal are then obtained from the reference signal. Finally, the PD signal is obtained by time-domain denoising. The results from both simulated and actual field detection signals show the excellent performance of this method.
