The impact of the swift evolution of technology has rippled across all areas of society with technological developments presenting solutions to some of society's greatest challenges. Within higher education, technology is welcomed with the necessary caution of a sector that is responsible for educating and empowering the future workforce. The progressive, and more recently accelerated, digitalisation of education causes the core practices and procedures associated with teaching and learning, including assessment, to be delivered in innovative formats. Technology plays a central role in the delivery of e-assessment, widening its possibilities and broadening its methods and strategies. This chapter aims to examine how innovative technologies are shaping and improving the delivery of e-assessment in the context of higher education. More specifically, it examines the role of artificial intelligence, gamification, learning analytics, cloud computing, and mobile technology in how e-assessment can be delivered.

En este estudio se evaluó el grado de compatibilidad in vitro de Trichoderma ovalisporum, T. harzianum, T. koningiopsis y T. stromaticum, cepas nativas de plantaciones de cacao con tres productos fungicidas (Óxido de cobre, Azoxistrobina, e Hidróxido de cobre) utilizadas para el manejo de Moniliasis y Escoba de bruja a fin de integrar el control químico y biológico en el manejo integrado de las enfermedades del cacao. T. ovalisporum fue la especie que mejor desarrollo mostró en combinación con la Azoxistrobina, 88,58% y 88,29% para dosis baja y alta respectivamente. Las otras tres especies, T. harzianum, T. koningiopsis y T. stromaticum, se comportaron de manera variable de acuerdo con la dosis y al fungicida presente en el medio. Ninguna de las cuatro especies creció en el medio mezclado con Óxido de cobre. Se recomienda realizar ensayos de invernadero para confirmar los efectos de las mezclas de fungicidas con agentes de control biológico.

Esta pesquisa consiste no estudo das práticas do ator e contador de causos Rolando Boldrin (1936), que oportunizam a ocorrência do fenômeno espetacular junto à sua plateia no programa musical Sr. Brasil (exibido desde 2005 pela TV Cultura de São Paulo). O conceito de espetacular utilizado nesse trabalho é definido por Jean Marie Pradier, em seus estudos de Etnocenologia, como a física peculiar do espírito, que se manifesta numa maneira de agir que difere do comportamento cotidiano. Esse estudo também estabelece relações entre as práticas atuais e a maneira como elas foram desenvolvidas ao longo da trajetória profissional desse ator e de suas experiências em teatro, música, rádio, televisão e cinema. Nessa operação, foram utilizadas como fontes o acompanhamento e observação de gravações do programa de televisão em que ele atua, as entrevistas com Boldrin já publicadas na forma impressa e em vídeos disponíveis na internet, além de uma entrevista complementar, realizada por mim na metade final do processo de pesquisa. Esse trabalho também avalia as estratégias para a produção dos dados na observação das situações em que o espetacular pode ser reconhecido e apropriado, durante o acompanhamento de gravações do programa televisivo e no processo de realização da entrevista complementar. A metodologia utilizada foi baseada na abordagem de Virgínia Kastrup sobre o método da cartografia, em associação com referências dos procedimentos de trabalho do documentarista Eduardo Coutinho e da minha própria experiência como documentarista. Uma das contribuições dessa pesquisa é a observação da forte influência da cultura oral dos violeiros contadores de histórias do noroeste do Estado de São Paulo e do trabalho como ator radiofônico, sobre a forma como Boldrin provoca a manifestação do fenômeno espetacular nas gravações do seu programa, que é exibido na televisão de sinal aberto e em rede nacional para todo o Brasil. This research consists of the study of the practices of the actor and storyteller Rolando Boldrin (1936), which opportunize the occurrence of the spectacular phenomenon with his audience in the musical program Sr. Brazil (aired since 2005 by TV Cultura de São Paulo). The concept of spectacular used in this work is defined by Jean Marie Pradier, in his studies of Etnocenology, as the peculiar physics of the spirit, which manifests itself in a way of acting that differs from everyday behavior. This study also establishes relationships between current practices and the way they were developed along the professional career of this actor and his experiences in theater, music, radio, television and cinema. In this operation, were used as sources the monitoring and observation of recordings of the television program in which he operates, the interviews with Boldrin already published in printed form and videos available on the internet, plus a complementary interview, held by me in the final half of the research process. This work also evaluates the strategies for the production of data in the observation of situations where the spectacular can be recognized and appropriate, during the monitoring of recordings of the television program and in the process of conducting the supplementary interview. The methodology used was based on the approach of Virginia Kastrup on the cartografia method, in association with references of the work procedures of the documentarian Eduardo Coutinho and my own experience as a documentarian. One of the contributions of this research is the observation of the strong influence of the oral culture of guitar storytellers from the northwest of the State of São Paulo and the work as a radio actor, on the way Boldrin provokes the manifestation of the spectacular phenomenon in the recordings of his program, which is shown on open-signal television and on national television for all Brazil.

The Web 3.0 has revolutionized the Internet in the last years and its benefits are still being studied. The way that websites are being developed is also changing because of this Web evolution, giving to Web developers new technologies where computers can better understand and give meaning to content. This chapter presents an overview of technologies considered to be included on the Web 3.0 concept. The main objective of the chapter is to introduce a conceptual framework of Web 3.0, or Semantic Web, technologies that can be used for developing a website. This review of literature introduces the evolution of each of the technologies mentioned, as well as their functions. Some examples and opportunities for use are also presented. The chapter offers a current state-of-the-art and an opportunity for future relevant research in the Web development area.

A pesquisa parte do pressuposto de que o trabalho do ator no Cinema enfrenta adversidades que são características do sistema de produção cinematográfico. Dentre elas está a necessidade de contracenar com o aparato tecnológico utilizado para o registro de imagem e som. Além disso, a dinâmica de trabalho em uma produção audiovisual não favorece uma interação entre a equipe e o elenco no momento em que a cena acontece; não visa estabelecer um elo de comunicação sensível entre atuação e demais presentes no “set” de filmagem. O aqui e agora do trabalho do ator na cena cinematográfica está sob constante risco de ter uma assistência pouco participativa durante o seu acontecimento. O objetivo deste trabalho é estudar algumas formas com as quais diferentes realizadores e pesquisadores lidaram com essa questão, utilizando como instrumental teórico de análise o conceito de espetacularidade sob a perspectiva da Etnocenologia. Para empreender esse estudo é necessária a realização de uma apropriação dos conceitos de espetacularidade e de teatralidade na relação entre equipe, elenco e aparato técnico na encenação cinematográfica. Nessa apropriação de conceitos algumas experiências de criação cênica em Teatro e Cinema do próprio pesquisador também serão utilizadas como material de apoio. O que se busca com essa pesquisa é fazer uma contribuição ao debate sobre a Etnocenologia e o trabalho do ator/diretor - de Cinema e de Teatro - em uma perspectiva que apresenta entrelaçamentos da arte teatral com a arte cinematográfica. The research assumes that the actor's work in Cinema facing adversities that are characteristic of cinematic production system. Among them is the need to act with the technological apparatus used for recording image and sound. Moreover, the dynamics of working in an audiovisual production does not encourage interaction between the cast and crew at the time that the scene takes place, it’s not intended to establish a sensitive communication link between the dramatic act and other gifts in "set" of the filming. The here and now of the actor's work on the film scene is under constant risk of having a little participatory assistance during your event. The objective of this work is to study some ways in which different directors and researchers have dealt with this issue, using as theoretical tools of analysis the concept of spectacle from the perspective of Ethnoscenology. To undertake this study is necessary to perform an appropriation of the concepts of spectacle and theatricality in the relationship between staff, cast and technical apparatus in cinematic staging. In that appropriation of concepts some experiments scenic setting in Theatre and Cinema of the researcher will also be used as support material. The intention of this research is to make a contribution to the discussion about Ethnoscenology and work of actor/director - Film and Theatre - in a perspective that presents twists of theatrical art with the art of cinema.

The aim of this paper is to analyse the workplace disruption caused by the paradigm shift due to the digital transformation process and the context of hybrid/remote work. The authors analyse benefits, challenges and approaches companies are facing within the segment of workplace regulation as well as e-leaders’ tactics for remote work performance, result-based metrics, and performance indicators. The authors have noticed huge discrepancy between research on remote work subjects in business and teaching and learning industry sector (in business there’s a lot of pros, and in the education especially during the pandemic, cons). Remote work represents one of the most important segments, especially in the segment of teaching, that also affects the satisfaction level in the process, which is often neglected by setting out the focus on the technologies or/and teaching methods in the e- learning environments and performance, and at the same time dropping out from the focus working conditions, policies, and institutional support for workers/teachers. In this paper authors analyse challenges and benefits of hybrid/remote work in general by observing possible applicability to various sectors of e-Society.

International audience; In this paper, we propose a method for structuring a competency repository based on 5 principles. Two of them consist in using a composition relation to define competencies at several levels of abstraction and a prerequisite relation to establish prerequisites between competencies. To illustrate the contributions of these principles, an application in the domain of information systems design and implementation is fully developed. This application is based on the discussions that were carried out within the "Competency Working Group" of the French network of MIAGE (Méthodes Informatiques Appliquées à la Gestion des Entreprises) Masters and within the framework of the IDEFI-N OPENMIAGE project funded by the French ANR (Agence Nationale de la Recherche). The proposed repository, in addition to a new structure, incorporates new competencies compared to existing repositories, in particular with regard to strategic management of the IS, development techniques, interpersonal competencies, prerequisites coming from basic disciplines. This repository aims primarily to help the organization of academic and professional training and to allow the assessment of personal skills.

Challenging the objective, subjective and relational perspectives of spaces and place, the Heideggerian precognitive approach contends that "lived spaces" are constituted by an individual's purpose, objectives and aspirations. An existential analysis is carried out to show how a different kind of spatialization is achieved by human beings in cyberspace ("cyber-spatiality") and how it affects the way they disclose themselves online. Heidegger's groundbreaking perspective proves itself useful to provide a deeper understanding of the way consumers experience online space.

Ce papier a reçu le Best Paper Award à l'International Conference on Cognition and Exploratory Learning in Digital Age 2018; International audience; To improve the learning process, the evolution of learner's characteristics (cognitive, affective, prior knowledge, workflow, organization, ...) must be taken into account during the personalization or adaptation. This requires generating several scenarios (a description of activities, their order and links in the learning sequence as well as the expected outcome for the learner) adapted to the identified profiles. We propose a model which aims at improving learners' learning processes by giving them control over two key aspects: (1) the steps of the learning scenario to be followed: after each learning goal is completed, the learner chooses the next one among the possible ones (in terms of their current knowledge) while respecting pedagogical constraints (time and quality of the solutions produced according to satisfaction thresholds); (2) the assessment mode: the learner chooses a mode corresponding to their own goals in terms of mastery, while respecting the minimum thresholds set by the teacher. We assess our approach with learners in terms of (a) adequacy of the model with learners' expectations, (b) usability of the system and (c) learning experience satisfaction, through self-report questionnaires and an analysis of the data collected over 11 learners who used an implementation of our system on the LMS (Learning Management System) in the context of a real course on Economy. The results reveal an a priori acceptance of our model, a diversity of the scenarios constructed, and the use of 2 (out of 3) assessment modes to progress. We use these results to analyze current limits of the system and propose redesign ideas to minimize them.

TRIZ (the theory of inventive problem solving ; an acronym for the Russian phrase " Teoriya Resheniya Izobretatelskikh Zadatch") is a broad title representing a collection of methodologies, tools, knowledge bases, and model -based technologies for generating inventive ideas and solutions. It has been developed for over 65 years to support engineers and natural scientists solving problems in the fields of physics, chemistry and mechanical systems by using knowledge of former inventors. In today business environment, new technologies and competitions force business organizations to invest additional resources in order to continuous ly improve their business models, products, processes, services, management , information system and knowledge of employees . As a part of these efforts, appears an exigency for strengthening the importance of inventive solving problems capabilities in area of software engineering, supporting innovative aspects of business organizations in extremely changing environment. Although the software engineering (SE) is “ a branch of computer science that deals with the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex computer programs ”, the existing research shows that only a part of the available TRIZ toolkit is applicable to this specific field. The current literature records numerous attempts made in different directions in order to fulfil a prominence need for adjustment, widening or upgrading existing TRIZ methodology to SE domain. This article synthetizes those efforts and proposes the development of semantic portal for open TRIZ in supporting collaborative software engineers` inventive problem solving process. As a part of this development process, authors have offered a solution for facilitating the ontology acquisition activities using inductive learning.

Javascript is used more and more as a programming language to develop web applications in order to increase the user experience and application interactivity. Although Javascript is a powerful technology that offers these characteristics, it is also a potential web application attack vector that can be exploited to impact the end-user, since it can be maliciously intercepted and modified. Today, web browsers act as worldwide open windows, executing, on a given user machine (computer, smartphone, tablet or any other), remote code. Therefore, it is important to ensure the trust on the execution of this remote code. This trust should be ensured at the JavaScript remote code producer, during transport and also locally before being executed on the end-user web-browser. In this paper, the authors propose and present a mechanism that allows the secure production and verification of web-applications JavaScript code. The paper also presents a set of tools that were developed to offer JavaScript code protection and ensure its trust at the production stage, but also a proxy-based mechanism that ensures end-users the un-modified nature and source validation of the remote JavaScript code prior to its execution by the end-user browser. info:eu-repo/semantics/acceptedVersion

Home Manager is an open source agent-based application for the control of an intelligent home, implemented on top of the TuCSoN coordination infrastructure, and aimed at satisfying the users goals and preferences (lighting, temperature, etc.) while achieving the global house policies and objectives (e.g. energy saving). The first prototype, however, was kept intentionally simple, with a limited number of rooms, user types, appliances, and user policies: in particular, user access control did not adopt a role-based (RBAC) model. Therefore, in this paper we extend and generalise the previous system, designing an agent-based RBAC engine – first in general, then specialising its features to the Home Manager case study – and incorporate it into a new prototype targeted to a larger house, with a larger set of appliances and user roles, and supporting the dynamic definition of user policies and constraints.

The adoption of electronic voting in political elections, notwithstanding a long history of academic studies and practical experiences, is still debated. Arguments in its favor or against it are usually rather biased, and take into account only a limited subset of the issues at stake. In particular, no study has ever tried to draw a comprehensive picture of the interplay between social and technical aspects of the voting process. We claim that this kind of interdisciplinary research is needed for the scientific community to be able to exert its positive influence on stakeholders, and we try to outline the research questions that in our opinion should find an answer.

International audience; The current global dimension of human exchanges in any domain (work, commerce, learning, entertainment...) is accompanied by technologies that enhance synchronous and asynchronous communication thus facilitating both collaboration and competition: the two driving forces for progress since ages. Collaboration can be made essentially in asynchronous mode by e-mails, files and information exchanges, or in synchronous mode by organizing meetings where collaborators communicate directly. Geographical and temporal distance may be overcome by several ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) solutions, usually under the label of e-collaboration. This concept is based on a high number of interactions that could be classified in three types: Computer to Computer Interaction (1), Collaborator to Computer Interaction (2) and Collaborator to Collaborator Interaction (3). Consequently, performance evaluation of e-collaboration has to be considered as consisting separately on the evaluation of each of the three types of interaction. This view leads to focus on three main aspects: the first is the system -efficiency- the second is the interface -ergonomics- the third is the collaborator's behavior during collaboration and its influence on the outcome of the joint effort -effectiveness. Three evaluation layers are so found. In this paper, we propose an appropriate evaluation method to each layer, so that future developments, applying the new evaluation method and exploiting results in actual settings, may improve separately efficiency, ergonomics and effectiveness of e-collaboration in a complementary way.

When generating content for high-quality output, the issue of converting data from sources of any quality comes across. Even with just text, the use of desktop tools to produce input for high quality processes such as professional publishing or e-learning material generation requires professionals to convert the result, adjust it and produce the final output object. Since conversion is usually unidirectional, re-use of content and minor amendments are prevented once the conversion is done, unless the same professionals are involved in all the production steps. This raises costs and stiffens the production process. In this paper we propose a flexible conversion architecture, an intermediate data format and automatic high-quality pagination tool that make the process of generating high-quality results from low quality sources almost automatic, and that require no quality adjustments after the conversion. The end result is that the original authoring tools can be used for all productions steps, thus returning the whole production process in the hand of the original author.

In disentangling edges and interpretation about the concept of learning object, pedagogists and computer scientists are still crossing their swords. Flexibility is opposed to standardization (i.e. strictness), context independence faces to portability, learning intent to accessibility and, finally, aggregation and granularity are not explicitly issued yet. Despite the widespread acceptance of standards, such as SCORM IMS Content Packaging, and of Learning Content management Systems, principles and practices in wrapping or splitting learning contents are not univocally ruled. Another complexity level arises from the wide use of platform tools done by users with the latest generations of LOs. The association between tools and content is addressed by Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS) in many different ways, trying to find a balance between flexibility and standardization issues. This paper presents a new model, called CoCOON (COntent Case Organizer for Objects Nesting), based on well-known IEEE and IMS standards, to manage complex aggregation mechanisms among LOs and to provide many association levels to relate LOs and platform tools. The model has been tested by implementing extensions and modules to an open source LCMS (ATutor) and implementing a whole course to be used in a Master Degree.

We don t always realize that the boundaries between the physical and virtual worlds in our daily life are becoming increasingly sketchy, even invisible. We often realize that a chat session is possible thanks to a computer network. But it is less obvious that our city, our living room or even our food, in addition to Internet traffic, depend on this technology. Developers are trying their best to make this ubiquitous technology (often referred to as ubiquitous computing ) as obvious as possible. The outcome is that now and then we actually tend to forget that it is out there. This technology, which operates under the visible surface, can then ensure that we are lived instead of living ourselves, while experiencing technology. There are artists who are trying to remind us of this presence. They play an important role in exposing the social and cultural impact of this technology and help us react to our surroundings in a more personal and durable manner. Louis de Cordier and Sarah Pillen or Anouk De Clercq, for example, use subtle interventions to highlight the impact that the interweaving of virtual and physical worlds has on our life. Certain artist s collectives such as OKNO and FoAM prefer to take it to the next level and guide people in their contact with technology and media. They check technological networks to see where they can intervene, enabling them to install alternative network ecologies . These activities are often referred to as Do It Yourself (DIY). They reveal where technology plays a role in our environment, how we can use this knowledge to our own benefit, and also how we can creatively shape our own surroundings. Creativity is thus not only reserved for artists. Creativity intervenes at all levels of our daily life. It helps us take our place in the world that we live in more consciously, whether by decorating our living room, or mapping our personal route through the city (Certeau, 1988). Below we will look at how artists approach the phenomenon of ubiquitous computing and how they bring about network ecologies and DIY cultures in response to it. The fields of tension between tangible and intangible, place and space and between disciplines serve as the source of inspiration for alternative field studies on space . In this research we chose to combine insights of the communication and cultural studies with the artistic and design research to make a more holistic and material approach to the man/technology/environment relationship possible. The new competitive landscape and the new information communication technologies (ICT) thrust for new business configurations for small and medium enterprises (SME) development and local competitiveness, based on the value creating potential of networks. In literature it has been extensively argued that ICT-driven networks could help firms to be more flexible and able to fast react to the changing business conditions. This paper focuses on the service sector, and in particular on the tourism industry, to explore the influence of industry specific factors on the implementation of virtual networks in SMEs. In particular starting from previous research, and through an in-depth field case study of tourism destination’s web initiatives, the aim of this paper is to investigate the reasons why emerging virtual networks in tourism have underdeveloped interactive, collaborative, and personalization features. The results highlight that industry specific factors such as the marketing orientation, the nature of the product, and fragmentation could hamper effective implementation of virtual networks in SMEs.

Authorship and content integrity are the most basic rights that academic authors want to preserve in the educational field. In order to preserve these author rights a special adapted DRM platform, ARMS, was developed. This platform is oriented to the educational domain and we must to highlight the web services interface with a generic educational Academic Management System platform of the educational institution, established in order to verify the user eligibility in this domain before issuance of the license. To guarantee content and rights protection, cryptographic techniques and mechanisms are applied in a fashion where content, rights, protection keys and related metadata are packaged in special containers obeying the MPEG-21 standard. The resulting objects describe here, obeys a special structure where protected objects may only be used by the user of the educational domain to whom the respective license was issued embedded in one of these objects. These neutral resulting objects can then be easily transmissible in open communications channels in a way that enable their management in order to achieve a controlled access and usage.
