Se realizó un estudio para comparar el Coeficiente Emocional (EQ) y sus Escalas Intrapersonal, Interpersonal, Manejo del Estrés y Adaptabilidad, en deportistas adolescentes federados y adolescentes no deportistas. Para ello se aplicó a una muestra de 346 sujetos (172 deportistas y 174 no deportistas), con una media de 14,6 años, el test de Coeficiente de inteligencia Emocional. Adicionalmente, a los sujetos deportistas se les administró el cuestionario de clima motivacional percibido PMCSQ, para determinar su orientación al ego o a la tarea. Los datos hallados mediante la prueba estadística T de Student indican una diferencia significativa en el Coeficiente Emocional entre deportistas de competencia y no deportistas (p=000). Además, en el test de Wilcoxon para comparación de medianas en datos no paramétricos relacionados, se halló un valor p=, 000, que indica que el grupo de deportistas identificó un clima motivacional más fuertemente orientado a la tarea (X=84,2) que al ego (X= 47,9). Finalmente, correlacionó de forma moderada el clima motivacional con orientación a la tarea con el EQ en los sujetos deportistas (p=,000).

El nuevo Coronavirus, COVID-19, se ha convertido en una pandemia que afecta la Salud Pública y que ha modificado la cotidianidad de las personas al establecerse períodos prolongados de confinamiento, como medida de prevención ante el virus. El desarrollo de una aplicación móvil para el monitoreo de la pandemia de COVID-19 en Colombia permitiría tener un control de la enfermedad mediante técnicas de mapeo que permita disminuir el riesgo de contagio de los colombianos y transversalmente el riesgo de muerte de la población en riesgo, adicionalmente al desarrollar planes de prescripción del ejercicio físico y alimentación balenceada en personas que no tienen contagio de la enfermedad pero que cumplen la restricción obligatoria, se busca prevenir posibles factores de riesgo cardiovascular causados por el sedentarismo y la inadecuada ingesta nutricional.

Deforestation is one of the major threats to habitats in the Dominican Republic. In this work we present a forest baseline for the year 2000 and a deforestation map for the year 2011. Maps were derived from Moderate Resolution Imaging Radiometer (MODIS) products at 250m resolution. The vegetation continuous fields product (MOD44B) for the year 2000 was used to produce the forest baseline, while the vegetation indices product (MOD13Q1) was used to detect change between 2000 and 2011. Hispaniola Island has both a high level of amphibian endemism, and a high level of habitat degradation due to agriculture, infrastructure development, and extractive industries. The objective of this work was to evaluate the capacity of Dominican Republic's current network of protection to maintain the habitat of four species of amphibians endemic to Hispaniola ( Osteopilus pulchrilineatus , Osteopilus vastus , Hypsiboas heilprini , and Eleutherodactylus flavescens ). Spatial analysis was performed to relate observations of the target species to environmental factors using a maximum entropy algorithm (Maxent). Results of this analysis produced maps of probability of occurrence for each species. Analysis of habitat degradation was based on a change analysis of vegetation, by evaluating trends in the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) between 2000 and 2011. Results show that forest loss and species habitat loss within protected areas are smaller but similar to those extracted for the country as a whole, suggesting that the current protected area network is not effective for the maintenance of the habitat of the amphibians analyzed. Enforcement of established protection and restoration within current protected areas could facilitate the protection of up to 25.7% of target amphibian habitat. The methodologies presented here can be applied to measure biodiversity offset effectiveness.

La investigación, de corte cualitativo, tuvo como contexto una localidad de Bogotá, D.C., y sus fuentes de información son los profesores de educación física, que conforman la “Red de maestros de Educación Física”. En este contexto, con miras a la reorganización curricular del área desde una perspectiva más humana que aporte a la construcción social y emocional del escolar (autonomía, cooperativismo, respeto y demás habilidades intra e interpersonales) se realizaron 40 entrevistas a profesores de 18 colegios públicos, con el fin de identificar los significados y sentidos (imaginarios) que le otorgan los profesores del área a la educación física en la construcción social y emocional de los escolares. Los resultados del estudio, organizados en varias categorías emergentes, permiten apreciar las concepciones de los entrevistados sobre aspectos puntuales del trabajo pedagógico de aula, tales como la concepción y orientación del área, los contenidos, los criterios pedagógicos, las estrategias didácticas y los procesos evaluativos.

The regulatory framework of Bogota proposes an education that will combine academic excellence and holistic training, which will ensure better, well-being, opportunities, and quality of life for individuals, families, and groups [1]. One of the strategies used for this purpose was called Sports Interest Centers (SIC), an extracurricular space in which Bogota public school students could select a sport to practice. The objective of this study is to recognize, integrate, re-order and express the pedagogical elements that compose the educational dynamics of 24 schools that used this strategy, as participants in the city’s Sports Interest Centers Festival (SICF). A collaborative hermeneutical study was carried out to understand the educational dynamics and consciously develop the description, analysis, and interpretation of the component elements of a system of pedagogical and didactic actions and their relationships, through school sports. The results demonstrate different emerging pedagogical categories geared at the acquisition of essential knowledge for good living and therefore implicating methodologies that favor the body, displace the mechanical gaze of sports, and bring their transcendence and complexity to school life.
