Nanoscale electronic transport gives rise to a number of intriguing physical phenomena that are accompanied by distinct spatial patterns of current flow. Here, we report on sensitive magnetic imaging of two-dimensional current distributions in bilayer graphene at room temperature. By combining dynamical modulation of the source-drain current with ac quantum sensing of a nitrogen-vacancy center in a diamond probe, we acquire magnetic field and current density maps with excellent sensitivities of 4.6 nT and 20 nA/$\mu$m, respectively. The spatial resolution is 50-100 nm. We further introduce a set of methods for increasing the technique's dynamic range and for mitigating undesired back-action of magnetometry operation on the electronic transport. Current density maps reveal local variations in the flow pattern and global tuning of current flow via the back-gate potential. No signatures of hydrodynamic transport are observed. The Target Absorbers for Neutrals (TANs) are located in a high-intensity radiation environment inside the tunnel of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). TANs are positioned about $140$ m downstream from the beam interaction points. Seven $40$ cm long fused silica rods with different dopant specifications were irradiated in the TAN by the Beam RAte of Neutrals (BRAN) detector group during $p$+$p$ data taking from 2016 to 2018 at the LHC. The peak dose delivered to the fused silica rods was $18$ MGy. We report measurements of the $^{22}$Na activation of the fused silica rods carried out at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Argonne National Laboratory. At the end of the irradiation campaign, the maximum $^{22}$Na activity observed was $A=21$ kBq$/{\rm cm^3}$ corresponding to a density, $\rho= 2.5\times 10^{12} /{\rm cm^3}$, of $^{22}$Na nuclei. FLUKA Monte Carlo simulations have been performed by the CERN FLUKA team to estimate $^{22}$Na activities for the irradiated BRAN rod samples. The simulations reproduce the $^{22}$Na activity profile measured along the rods, with a 35% underestimation of the experimental measurement results., Comment: 11 pages, 14 figures, to be submitted to PRAB

The Target Absorbers for Neutrals (TANs) represent one of the most radioactive regions in the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Seven 40 cm long fused silica rods with different dopant specifications, manufactured by Heraeus, were irradiated in one of the TANs located around the ATLAS experiment by the Beam RAte of Neutrals (BRAN) detector group. This campaign took place during the Run 2 p+p data taking, which occurred between 2016 and 2018. This paper reports a complete characterization of optical transmission per unit length of irradiated fused silica materials as a function of wavelength (240 nm - 1500 nm), dose (up to 18 MGy), and level of OH and H$_2$ dopants introduced in the manufacturing process. The dose delivered to the rods was estimated using Monte Carlo simulations performed by the CERN FLUKA team., Comment: 29 pages, 15 figures, to be submitted to NIM-A

Physics::Accelerator Physics - Abstract
During the LHC Run 2, many advances have been made on the beam dynamics in the longitudinal plane. The controlled longitudinal emittance blow-up used in the acceleration ramp was improved and bunch flattening was implemented for bunch length control during collisions. In order to minimise RF power consumption, the capture voltage was optimised and the full-detuning beam-loading compensation scheme was made operational for the ramp and at top energy. Various experimental and simulation studies have helped to improve operation and prepare for the future runs at increased intensities.

- Abstract
As housing costs increase, transport congestion worsens and decreased affordability plagues growing cities, more people are considering high-rise living. This research empirically investigates the liveability, applying a nested framework of neighbourhood, building and apartment amenities. the relationship between liveability features, and apartment prices. This empirical analysis uses a bayside municipality as a pilot case study with planned future research to expand to Melbourne. The paper will provide insights into the main liveability elements consumers desire and are willing to pay for in the context of a city in transition to higher density living. This research helps developers in similarly changing markets select appropriate locations and incorporate socially sustainable elements into the design of buildings and individual apartments to improve the social impact for residents and provide direction for policy makers in determining mandatory and suggested requirements for increased density in urban areas.

International audience; Transport of biomass burning emissions into the Arctic can cause episodic enhancements of multiple trace gas species. We present a multi-year time series of the total columns of carbon monoxide (CO), hydrogen cyanide (HCN), and ethane (C2H6) measured using Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) solar absorption spectroscopy at six high-latitude sites: Eureka, Nunavut; Ny Alesund, Norway; Thule, Greenland; Kiruna, Sweden; Poker Flat, Alaska; and St. Petersburg, Russia, and at three mid-latitude sites; Zugspitze, Germany; Jungfraujoch, Switzerland; and Toronto, Ontario. For each site, the inter-annual trends and seasonal variabilities of the CO total column time series are determined and enhancements above ambient levels are used to identify possible wildfire pollution events. Correlations of HCN and C2H6 with CO, back-trajectories from HYSPLIT and FLEXPART, and fire locations from the Moderate Resolution Spectroradiometer (MODIS) confirm the detections and identify the source regions. The GEOS-Chem chemical transport model is run in tagged mode to determine the relative contributions to the observed enhancements from continental-scale biomass burning source regions.Exceptional emissions of CO, HCN, C2H6, and ammonia (NH3) from the 2017 North American wildfires were measured at Eureka and Thule, indicating that wildfires may be a major source of NH3 in the summertime high Arctic. The enhancement ratios of the long- lived species HCN and C2H6 are found to be comparable between sites, but for NH3, the enhancement ratios are strongly dependent on the transport patterns of the smoke plumes. Satellite measurements of NH3 from the Infrared Atmospheric Sounding Instrument (IASI) and Cross-track Infrared Sounder (CrIS) are used to examine the spatial and temporal variabilities of NH3. Comparisons to a high-resolution (0.25° x 0.3125°) nested run of GEOS-Chem using emissions from the Global Fire Assimilation System (GFAS) are performed to evaluate the emission inventories and assess the long-range transport of NH3 to the high Arctic.

We present lower/middle tropospheric column-averaged CH4 mole fraction time series measured by nine globally distributed ground-based FTIR (Fourier transform infrared) remote sensing experiments of the Network for the Detection of Atmospheric Composition Change (NDACC). We show that these data are well representative of the tropospheric regional-scale CH4 signal, largely independent of the local surface small-scale signals, and only weakly dependent on upper tropospheric/lower stratospheric (UTLS) CH4 variations. In order to achieve the weak dependency on the UTLS, we use an a posteriori correction method. We estimate a typical precision for daily mean values of about 0.5% and a systematic error of about 2.5%. The theoretical assessments are complemented by an extensive empirical study. For this purpose, we use surface in situ CH4 measurements made within the Global Atmosphere Watch (GAW) network and compare them to the remote sensing data. We briefly discuss different filter methods for removing the local small-scale signals from the surface in situ data sets in order to obtain the in situ regional-scale signals. We find good agreement between the filtered in situ and the remote sensing data. The agreement is consistent for a variety of timescales that are interesting for CH4 source/sink research: day-to-day, monthly, and inter-annual. The comparison study confirms our theoretical estimations and proves that the NDACC FTIR measurements can provide valuable data for investigating the cycle of CH4.

- Abstract
Over the past two decades, Australian planning policies have supported largely unregulated land speculation and gentrification in relatively well served inner and middle suburbs, leading to displacement of low and moderate income households and growing spatial inequalities. The current Victorian state government signalled a new direction by ‘refreshing’ the third metropolitan strategy in as many decades, Plan Melbourne (2014/2017), with an increased emphasis on ‘diverse housing close to jobs, transport and services. It also established a new independent infrastructure advisory body that defined social housing as an infrastructure priority, and developed a ‘whole of government’ affordable housing strategy. Through a content analysis of Plan Melbourne, along with the two associated recent strategies, this paper asks whether they provide sufficient regulatory, governance and finance mechanisms to address and potentially reverse the trend towards greater social polarisation. We conclude that absence of a coherent vision, strong evidence base, coordinated partnership mechanisms, and ambitious targets combine to make progress towards more just intensification unlikely.

Ammonia (NH3) is difficult to monitor at atmospheric concentrations due its high solubility and reac-tivity and the strong spatial and temporal variations of its concentrations. Monitoring is mostly per-formed using passive samplers or filter packs with daily coverage at best. Only at a few sites ammonia is measured with more expensive wet chemical or spectroscopic measurement techniques. lnstruments using an open path show the most potential as these avoid the use of inlets and thus the interactions of NH3 with tubing, filters, and inlets. Measurements on the vertical distribution of NH3 are even scarcer, with only a few available airborne and tower measurements. Satellite observations of NH3 show potential to be used for real-time monitoring as these have global coverage often with daily overpasses. Unfor-tunately, validation of satellite NH3 products representing the total atmospheric column with ground based instruments measuring in situ NH3 has been troublesome due to a lack of knowledge about the vertical distribution. Validation with FTIR instruments has shown potential but has been performed for only a limited number of stations. In this study we report on measurements performed during the Measuring atmospheric Ammonia with Remote Sensing (MARS) field campaign at Cabauw, the Netherlands. The aim of the campaign was to improve the general understanding of the vertical distribution of NH3. An approach was taken using four mini-DOAS instruments installed in the meteorological tower at Cabauw, supplemented by measurements with a MARGA and a mobile FTIR instrument. The measure-ments between May and October 2014 showed large variations in the concentrations and maximum concentrations reached up to 240 μg m-3. The lower three mini-DOAS and MARGA measurements showed large differences on an hourly basis, which were shown to originate from multiple measurement artefacts of the MARGA. The mini-DOAS concentrations varied sharply between the different levels with the lower three instruments showing maxima at night while the mini-DOAS at 160 m in the tower showed maxima during the day. The study shows that the daytime boundary layer is welt-mixed with only small gradients between concentrations measured at various heights. Differences were found in the origin of the NH3 with the instrument at 20 m showing higher concentrations with transport from the north, where the largest nearby sources are located, while the instrument at 160 m showed the highest concentrations coming from the east which shows a more regional influence. The measurement campaign data is freely available for model and satellite validation studies

Presented here is the validation of the CrIS (Cross-track Infrared Sounder) fast physical NH3 retrieval (CFPR) column and profile measurements using ground-based Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) observations. We use the total columns and profiles from seven FTIR sites in the Network for the Detection of Atmospheric Composition Change (NDACC) to validate the satellite data products. The overall FTIR and CrIS total columns have a positive correlation of r = 0.77 (N = 218) with very little bias (a slope of 1.02). Binning the comparisons by total column amounts, for concentrations larger than 1.0 × 1016 molecules cm−2, i.e. ranging from moderate to polluted conditions, the relative difference is on average ∼ 0–5 % with a standard deviation of 25–50 %, which is comparable to the estimated retrieval uncertainties in both CrIS and the FTIR. For the smallest total column range (16 molecules cm−2) where there are a large number of observations at or near the CrIS noise level (detection limit) the absolute differences between CrIS and the FTIR total columns show a slight positive column bias. The CrIS and FTIR profile comparison differences are mostly within the range of the single-level retrieved profile values from estimated retrieval uncertainties, showing average differences in the range of ∼ 20 to 40 %. The CrIS retrievals typically show good vertical sensitivity down into the boundary layer which typically peaks at ∼ 850 hPa (∼ 1.5 km). At this level the median absolute difference is 0.87 (std = ±0.08) ppb, corresponding to a median relative difference of 39 % (std = ±2 %). Most of the absolute and relative profile comparison differences are in the range of the estimated retrieval uncertainties. At the surface, where CrIS typically has lower sensitivity, it tends to overestimate in low-concentration conditions and underestimate in higher atmospheric concentration conditions.

- Abstract
By laser metal deposition (LMD) samples from Fe-28Al (at.%) have been built on iron and various steels. Chemically graded iron aluminium and Fe-28Al/steel samples were fabricated with intended concentration gradients by controlling the feed rates of the powders. All samples were subsequently heat treated at 700 °C for 1000 h to study possible reactions between Fe-28Al and the steels and the long-term stability of the composition gradients. Microstructures were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and concentration profiles along the building direction were analysed by energy- and wavelength-dispersive spectrometry (EDS, WDS).

Interest in stratospheric aerosol and its role in climate have increased over the last decade due to the observed increase in stratospheric aerosol since 2000 and the potential for changes in the sulfur cycle induced by climate change. This review provides an overview about the advances in stratospheric aerosol research since the last comprehensive assessment of stratospheric aerosol was published in 2006. A crucial development since 2006 is the substantial improvement in the agreement between in situ and space-based inferences of stratospheric aerosol properties during volcanically quiescent periods. Furthermore, new measurement systems and techniques, both in situ and space based, have been developed for measuring physical aerosol properties with greater accuracy and for characterizing aerosol composition. However, these changes induce challenges to constructing a long-term stratospheric aerosol climatology. Currently, changes in stratospheric aerosol levels less than 20% cannot be confidently quantified. The volcanic signals tend to mask any nonvolcanically driven change, making them difficult to understand. While the role of carbonyl sulfide as a substantial and relatively constant source of stratospheric sulfur has been confirmed by new observations and model simulations, large uncertainties remain with respect to the contribution from anthropogenic sulfur dioxide emissions. New evidence has been provided that stratospheric aerosol can also contain small amounts of nonsulfate matter such as black carbon and organics. Chemistry-climate models have substantially increased in quantity and sophistication. In many models the implementation of stratospheric aerosol processes is coupled to radiation and/or stratospheric chemistry modules to account for relevant feedback processes.

Global distributions of atmospheric ammonia (NH3) measured with satellite instruments such as the Infrared Atmospheric Sounding Interferometer (IASI) contain valuable information on NH3 concentrations and variability in regions not yet covered by ground-based instruments. Due to their large spatial coverage and (bi-)daily overpasses, the satellite observations have the potential to increase our knowledge of the distribution of NH3 emissions and associated seasonal cycles. However the observations remain poorly validated, with only a handful of available studies often using only surface measurements without any vertical information. In this study, we present the first validation of the IASI-NH3 product using ground-based Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) observations. Using a recently developed consistent retrieval strategy, NH3 concentration profiles have been retrieved using observations from nine Network for the Detection of Atmospheric Composition Change (NDACC) stations around the world between 2008 and 2015. We demonstrate the importance of strict spatio-temporal collocation criteria for the comparison. Large differences in the regression results are observed for changing intervals of spatial criteria, mostly due to terrain characteristics and the short lifetime of NH3 in the atmosphere. The seasonal variations of both datasets are consistent for most sites. Correlations are found to be high at sites in areas with considerable NH3 levels, whereas correlations are lower at sites with low atmospheric NH3 levels close to the detection limit of the IASI instrument. A combination of the observations from all sites (Nobs Combining double low line 547) give a mean relative difference of ĝ'32.4ĝ€±ĝ€(56.3)ĝ€%, a correlation r of 0.8 with a slope of 0.73. These results give an improved estimate of the IASI-NH3 product performance compared to the previous upper-bound estimates (-50 to +100%).

Single-Photon Avalanche Diodes (SPADs) monitor the longitudinal density of the LHC beams by measuring the temporal distribution of synchrotron radiation. The relative population of nominally empty RF-buckets (satellites or ghosts) with respect to filled bunches is a key figure for the luminosity calibration of the LHC experiments. Since afterpulsing from a main bunch avalanche can be as high as, or higher than, the signal from satellites or ghosts, an accurate correction algorithm is needed. Furthermore, to reduce the integration time, the amount of light sent to the SPAD is enough so that pile-up effects and afterpulsing cannot be neglected. The SPAD sensitivity has also been found to vary at the end of the active quenching phase. We present a method to characterize and correct for SPAD deadtime, afterpulsing and sensitivity variation near saturation, together with laboratory benchmarking.

Within the NDACC (Network for the Detection of Atmospheric Composition Change), more than 20 FTIR (Fourier-transform infrared) spectrometers, spread worldwide, provide long-term data records of many atmospheric trace gases. We present a method that uses measured and modelled XCO2 for assessing the consistency of these NDACC data records. Our XCO2 retrieval setup is kept simple so that it can easily be adopted for any NDACC/FTIR-like measurement made since the late 1950s. By a comparison to coincident TCCON (Total Carbon Column Observing Network) measurements, we empirically demonstrate the useful quality of this suggested NDACC XCO2 product (empirically obtained scatter between TCCON and NDACC is about 4‰ for daily mean as well as monthly mean comparisons, and the bias is 25‰). Our XCO2 model is a simple regression model fitted to CarbonTracker results and the Mauna Loa CO2 in situ records. A comparison to TCCON data suggests an uncertainty of the model for monthly mean data of below 3‰. We apply the method to the NDACC/FTIR spectra that are used within the project MUSICA (multi-platform remote sensing of isotopologues for investigating the cycle of atmospheric water) and demonstrate that there is a good consistency for these globally representative set of spectra measured since 1996: the scatter between the modelled and measured XCO2 on a yearly time scale is only 3‰.

The present note describes how data measured with the LHC Longitudinal Density Monitor (LDM) can contribute to the 2012-2013 LHC luminosity calibration experiments. More specifically, LDM data can provide an estimation of the ghost fraction fghost and satellite fraction fsat needed for the normalisation of bunch populations. After a concise description of the LDM data treatment, the key quantities of interest are derived and commented. Finally, a description of the LDM analysis products is given.

In September/October 2009, six European ground-based Fourier Transform Spectrometers (FTS) of the Total Carbon Column Observation Network (TCCON) were calibrated for the first time using aircraft measurements. The campaign was part of the Infrastructure for Measurement of the European Carbon Cycle (IMECC) project. During this campaign, altitude profiles of several trace gases and meteorological parameters were taken close to the FTS sites (typically within 1–2 km distance for flight altitudes below 5000 m). Profiles of CO2, CH4, CO and H2O were measured continuously. N2O, H2, and SF6 were later derived from flask measurements. The aircraft data had a vertical coverage ranging from approximately 300 to 13 000 m, corresponding to ~80% of the total atmospheric column seen by the FTS. This study summarizes the calibration results for CH4. The resulting calibration factor of 0.978 ± 0.002 (±1 σ) from the IMECC campaign agreed very well with the results that Wunch et al. (2010) had derived for TCCON instruments in North America, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan using similar methods. By combining our results with the data of Wunch et al. (2010), the uncertainty of the calibration factor could be reduced by a factor of three (compared to using only IMECC or only Wunch et al. (2010) data). A careful analysis of the calibration method used by Wunch et al. (2010) revealed that the incomplete vertical coverage of the aircraft profiles can lead to a bias in the calibration factor. This bias can be compensated with a new iterative approach that we developed. Using this improved method, we derived a significantly lower calibration factor of 0.974 ± 0.002 (±1 σ). This corresponds to a correction of all TCCON CH4 measurements by roughly −7 ppb.

- Abstract
The Total Carbon Column Observing Network (TCCON) is a ground-based network of Fourier Transform Spectrometer (FTS) sites around the globe, where the column abundances of CO(2), CH(4), N(2)O, CO and O(2) are measured. CO(2) is constrained with a precision better than 0.25% (1-sigma). To achieve a similarly high accuracy, calibration to World Meteorological Organization (WMO) standards is required. This paper introduces the first aircraft calibration campaign of five European TCCON sites and a mobile FTS instrument. A series of WMO standards in-situ profiles were obtained over European TCCON sites via aircraft and compared with retrievals of CO(2) column amounts from the TCCON instruments. The results of the campaign show that the FTS measurements are consistently biased 1.1%+/-0.2% low with respect to WMO standards, in agreement with previous TCCON calibration campaigns. The standard a priori profile for the TCCON FTS retrievals is shown to not add a bias. The same calibration factor is generated using aircraft profiles as a priori and with the TCCON standard a priori. With a calibration to WMO standards, the highly precise TCCON CO(2) measurements of total column concentrations provide a suitable database for the calibration and validation of nadir-viewing satellites.

MedAustron, the Austrian hadron therapy center is currently under construction. Irradiations will be performed using active scanning with a proton or carbon ion pencil beam which is subject to scattering in vacuum windows, beam monitors and air gap. For applications where sharp lateral beam penumbras are required in order to spare critical organs from unwanted dose, scattering should be minimal. A semi-empirical scattering model has been established to evaluate beam size growth at the patient due to upstream scattering. Major design choices for proton gantry and nozzle based on the scattering calculations are presented.

MedAustron [1], the Austrian hadron therapy center is currently under construction. Irradiation will be performed using active scanning with proton and carbon ion pencil beams. Major beam delivery system contributors to dose heterogeneities are evaluated: beam position, beam size and spot weight errors. Their individual and combined effect on the dose distribution is quantified, using semianalytical models of lateral beam spread in the nozzle and target and depth-dose curves for protons and carbon ions. Deduced requirements on critical parts of the beam delivery system are presented. Preventive and active methods to suppress the impact of beam delivery inaccuracies are proposed.

Physics::Instrumentation and Detectors ,Astrophysics::High Energy Astrophysical Phenomena ,High Energy Physics::Experiment - Abstract
Measurements of the jet energy calibration and transverse momentum resolution in CMS are presented, performed with a data sample collected in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36pb-1. The transverse momentum balance in dijet and γ/Z+jets events is used to measure the jet energy response in the CMS detector, as well as the transverse momentum resolution. The results are presented for three different methods to reconstruct jets: a calorimeter-based approach, the "Jet-Plus-Track" approach, which improves the measurement of calorimeter jets by exploiting the associated tracks, and the "Particle Flow" approach, which attempts to reconstruct individually each particle in the event, prior to the jet clustering, based on information from all relevant subdetectors.

Accelerators and Storage Rings - Abstract
The MERIT (MERcury Intense Target) experiment was run in the fall of 2007 using 14 and 24 GeV intense proton beams from the CERN PS. It is a proof-of-principle experiment designed to validate a target concept for producing an intense muon source for a future muon collider or neutrino factory. The experiment successfully demonstrated a target technique for multi-MW proton beams that utilizes a free-flowing liquid metal jet within the confines of a high-field solenoid. We describe the experimental strategy and parameters, as well as the results obtained and their implications for future muon-based accelerator facilities.

The MERIT experiment is a proof-of-principle test of a target system for high power proton beam to be used as front-end for a neutrino factory complex or amuon collider. The experiment took data in autumn 2007 with the fast extracted beam from the CERN Proton Synchrotron (PS) to a maximum intensity of about 30 × 1012 protons per pulse. We report results from the portion of the MERIT experiment in which separated beam pulses were delivered to a free mercury jet target with time intervals between pulses varying from 2 to 700 μs. The analysis is based on the responses of particle detectors placed along side and downstream of the target.

Water vapor is an important constituent of the atmosphere. Because of its abundance it plays an important role for the radiation budget of the atmosphere and has major influence on weather and climate. In this work the integrated water vapor (IWV) measurements derived from the measurements of two satellite sensors, SCIAMACHY and AMSU-B, and two ground-based sensors, a Fourier-transform spectrometer (FTIR) and an O3 microwave ozone sensor (RAM), are compared to radio-sonde measurements in Ny Ålesund, 79° N. All four remote sensors exploit different principles and work in different wavelength regions. Combined they deliver a comprehensive picture of the IWV above Ny Ålesund. The ground-based FTIR reproduces the radio-sonde measurements very well and also shows a high correlation and very little scatter of about 10%. The other remote sensing instruments show a good correlation with the coincident radio-sonde measurements but show high scatter of about 20% (standard deviation). The ground-based RAM performs similar to the satellite instruments, which is somewhat surprising, because measuring IWV is only a by-product for this sensor. The RAM sensor records a measurement every hour and is therefore suited to observe the diurnal variation. As measured by the RAM and FTIR the variance within 4 h is often in excess of 50% (minimum – maximum of the measured IWV). This large variance in the integrated water vapor renders the comparison of different sensors a difficult task. The derived variance of the instruments when compared to radio-sonde measurements can be explained by the high natural variability of IWV.

The MERIT(nTOF-11) experiment is a proof-ofprinciple test of a target system for a high power proton beam to be used as front-end for a neutrino factory or a muon collider. The experiment took data in autumn 2007 with the fast-extracted beam from the CERN Proton Synchrotron (PS) to a maximum intensity of $30 × 10^{12}$ per pulse. The target system, based on a free mercury jet, is capable of intercepting a 4-MW proton beam inside a 15-T magnetic field required to capture the low energy secondary pions as the source for intense muon beams. Partice detectors installed around the target setup measure the secondary particle flux out of the target and can probe cavitation effects in the mercury jet when excited by an intense proton beam.Preliminary results of the data analysis will be presented here.

International audience; Ozone profiles retrieved from limb scattering measurements of the SCIAMACHY instrument based on the satellite ENVISAT are compared to ground-based low altitude resolution remote sensors. All profiles are retrieved using optimal estimation. Following the work of Rodgers and Connor (2003) the retrievals of the ground-based instruments are simulated using the SCIAMACHY retrieval. The SCIAMACHY results and the results of the ground-based microwave radiometer in Bremen and Ny Ålesund agree within the expected covariance of the intercomparison.
