The three-way decision model based on linguistic term sets has been extensively investigated since decision makers frequently utilize natural language to evaluate in an actual decision-making process. The existing models require decision makers to select appropriate linguistic terms from a given linguistic term set. However, making such a choice is not always simple, and decision makers occasionally choose words that are related to their own experience. In order to deal with this kind of decision problem, we appeal to the theory of computing with words pioneered by Zadeh and establish a three-way decision model based on computing with words in this paper. The paper focuses on how to deal with more general linguistic information using the theory of computing with words. Initially, using the concept of computing with words, we translate more broad linguistic information into a linguistic distribution assessment on a balanced linguistic term set in order to better analyze linguistic information. The three-way decision based on computing with words is then discussed. Decision-theoretic rough fuzzy sets take into account the ambiguity of the decision target as a generalization of the classical decision-theoretic rough sets. This is what motivated us to develop a three-way decision based on decision-theoretic rough fuzzy sets using computing with words. Additionally, a fabricated example demonstrates that our three-way decision model is more adaptable in processing linguistic information and can handle more general linguistic information provided by decision makers.

In early 2022, the Fangcang shelter hospital management model was successfully applied to the new outbreak of COVID-19 in Shanghai also. Although Fangcang shelter hospitals are no longer the prevailing mode of prevention of COVID-19, the management experience of Shanghai makeshift hospitals is worthy of reference for public health.Methods: The authors conducted a descriptive statistical analysis of Hall 6-2 of the Shanghai National Convention and Exhibition Center Fangcang shelter hospital. The whole hall of the Fangcang shelter hospital was managed by the one hospital, and the inclusion of third-party management personnel alleviated the shortage of medical personnel human resources. Through practice, a new procedure for treating batch infected people was introduced.Results: By optimizing ward management, 72 on-duty doctors, 360 on-duty nurses, 3 sense-control administrators, and 15 administrators cured 18,574 infected people in 40 days, and created a record of a doctor managing 700 infected people without compromising the quality of treatment. There have been no deaths and no complaints from the infected people located in Hall 6-2 of the Shanghai National Convention and Exhibition Center Fangcang shelter hospital.Conclusion: Compared with previous data, the new management mode of Fangcang shelter hospitals provides a reference for the management of the new infectious diseases for public health.Keywords: COVID-19, Omicron variant, Fangcang shelter hospital, management, Shanghai’s experience

Neijiang (NJ) and Yacha (YC) are two indigenous pig breeds in the Sichuan basin of China, displaying higher resistance to diseases, lower lean ratio, and slower growth rate than the commercial Western pig breed Yorkshire (YS). The molecular mechanisms underlying the differences in growth and development between these pig breeds are still unknown. In the present study, five pigs from NJ, YC, and YS breeds were subjected to the whole genome resequencing, and then the differential single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were screened using a 10-kb window sliding in 1-kb step using the Fst method. Finally, 48,924, 48,543, and 46,228 nonsynonymous single-nucleotide polymorphism loci (nsSNPs) were identified between NJ and YS, NJ and YC, and YC and YS, which highly or moderately affected 2,490, 800, and 444 genes, respectively. Moreover, three nsSNPs were detected in the genes of acetyl-CoA acetyltransferase 1 ( ACAT1) insulin-like growth factor 2 receptor ( IGF2R), insulin-like growth factor 2 and mRNA-binding protein 3 ( IGF2BP3), which potentially affected the transformation of acetyl-CoA to acetoacetyl-CoA and the normal functions of the insulin signaling pathways. Moreover, serous determinations revealed significantly lower acetyl-CoA content in YC than in YS, supporting that ACAT1 might be a reason explaining the differences in growth and development between YC and YS breeds. Contents of phosphatidylcholine (PC) and phosphatidic acid (PA) significantly differed between the pig breeds, suggesting that glycerophospholipid metabolism might be another reason for the differences between Chinese and Western pig breeds. Overall, these results might contribute basic information to understand the genetic differences determining the phenotypical traits in pigs.

BACKGROUND: Fibroblast growth factor receptors (FGFRs) are frequently altered in cancers and present a potential therapeutic avenue. However, the type and prevalence of FGFR alterations in infiltrating gliomas (IGs) needs further investigation. OBJECTIVE: To understand the prevalence/type of FGFR alterations in IGs. METHODS: We reviewed clinicopathologic and genomic alterations of FGFR-mutant gliomas in a cohort of 387 patients. Tumors were examined by DNA next-generation sequencing for somatic mutations with a panel interrogating 205-genes. For comparison, cBioPortal databases were queried to identify FGFR-altered IGs. RESULTS: Fourteen patients (3.6%) with FGFR-mutant tumors were identified including 11 glioblastomas, Isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) – wildtype (GBM-IDH-WT), 2 oligodendrogliomas, and 1 astrocytoma IDH-mutant. FGFR-altered IGs showed endocrinoid capillaries, microvascular proliferation, necrosis, oligodendroglioma-like cells, fibrin thrombi, microcalcifications, and nodular growth. FGFR3 was the most commonly altered FGFR gene (64.3%). The most common additional mutations in FGFR-altered IGs were TERTp, CDKN2A/B, PTEN, CDK4, MDM2, and TP53. FGFR3 alterations were only observed in GBM-IDH-WT. EGFR alterations were rarely identified in FGFR3-altered gliomas. CONCLUSIONS: Histologic features correlate with FGFR alterations in IGs. FGFR3-TACC3 fusion and FGFR3 amplification are the most common FGFR alterations in IGs. FGFR alterations are a rare, but potentially viable, therapeutic target in asubset of IGs.

Abstract: Induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) are a type of pluripotent stem cells induced by somatic cells. It was found that differentiated cells could be reprogrammed to a pluripotent state by the expression of the four transcription factors such as Oct3/4, Sox2, c-Myc, and Klf4. This technology can be applied to reprogramme the patient cells into iPSCs, which further be induced into research-required cells or tissues. Nowadays, a great number of reprogramming methods and various types of somatic cells can be used to produce iPSCs. The advancement of this technology provides a promising pathway to disease models building, drug development, and the corresponding cell-based therapy. Alzheimer's diseases (AD) and Parkinson's diseases (PD) are complex diseases affected by many factors, including genetic and environmental factors. Until now, there are no effective treatments to reverse these diseases because the pathogenesis of these complex diseases is still not well understood. One important reason is that the existing disease model cannot fully recapitulate the pathologies of these multifactorial associated diseases and iPSCs have the potential to resolve this difficulty. In this review, we discuss the application progress of iPSCs in AD and PD, including disease modeling, drug development, and cellbased therapies.

Left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH), the most common target organ damage in patients with hypertension, is closely related to excessive visceral adipose tissue (VAT) accumulation in the body. The hypertriglyceridemic waist (HTHW) phenotype can act as a surrogate marker of excessive VAT. However, the relationship between the HTHW phenotype and LVH in patients with hypertension remains unknown. The present study aimed to investigate whether the HTHW phenotype is associated with LVH, using echocardiography in a cross-sectional study involving 4470 middle-aged and older Chinese patients with hypertension. Logistic regression analysis revealed that patients with the HTHW phenotype were 1.52-fold more likely to experience LVH than those with normal triglyceride levels and normal waist circumference. This association was independent of age, sex, and other potentially confounding factors. In the stratified analysis, a stronger correlation was found among women, people of at least 70 years of age, and people with hyperuricemia. These results suggest that distinguishing the HTHW phenotype in patients with hypertension could serve as a simple and effective screening strategy for identifying people with a higher risk of developing LVH.

Prevention mechanism of L. rhamnosus Fmb14 on DSS-induced depression-like behaviors.

By employing the operator theory, the Lyapunov function on time scales and the famous Gronwall's inequality, this paper addresses some dynamic properties of almost periodic solutions for a class of two species co-existence delayed model on time scales with almost periodic coefficients and Ricker, as well as the Beverton-Holt type function. First, we establish the existence and uniqueness of the almost periodic solution with a positive infimum by transforming the initial model into an equivalent integral equation. Second, we investigate the global exponential stability and uniformly asymptotic stability of the positive almost periodic solution. Finally, we give two examples to illustrate the main presented results.

Effect of grain boundary morphology on ductility dip cracking (DDC) sensitivity of nickel base alloy inconel52 deposited metal was researched by welding thermal simulation method and high temperature tensile test. The sample was hold at 1300 °C for 2S ~ 10s and then stretched at its DDC sensitive temperature 1050 °C at different tensile rates. The DDC sensitivity was compared by reduction of area (VoA) of tensile test sample. The results show that straight grain boundary reduces VoA, precipitates in grain boundaries increases VoA, and VoA increases with the increase of tensile rate. Straight grain boundary causes stress concentration and strain localization at the trigeminal grain boundary, curved grain boundary decreases the maximum Mises stress which make more uniform stress distribution. Precipitates on the grain boundary can play a role of locking the grain boundary migration and disperse the strain concentration at the trigeminal grain boundary. The lower the strain rate, the longer the deformation time, which will lead to decrease of dislocation movement rate. The smaller the critical shear stress of grain boundary sliding, the smaller the deformation resistance, and the full progress of dislocation movement and climbing. Effect of strain rate on DDC needs more research.

This article shows that the construction of the notion of dignified laborer during the Chinese New Culture Movement (1915–24) was not simply a reversal of preexisting social hierarchy that placed the mental laborers above the manual laborers but rather a complex and profound process of identity formation that created dynamic equalization between the national and the global, mental laborers and manual laborers, as well as men and women. Through reading a series of cultural and literary works, this article shows that the dignified laborer was an inclusive modern identity that gained traction during the New Culture Movement, when the Chinese intellectuals sought ways to foster national solidarity, realize the full potential of humanity, facilitate intersubjective understanding, and mend social divisions. As a result, this was a period when Chinese people from all walks vied to become laborers with dignity, amidst a rising democratic culture of reciprocal equal recognition.

Defects and mechanical damage that lead to peeling, corrosion and other potential hazards during practical applications are inevitable in epoxy coatings due to the high cross-link density of the epoxy network. Herein, the authors synthesized a self-healing polythiourethane (SPTU) material containing dynamic disulfide bonds for the design and preparation of an SPTU–epoxy coating. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, proton (1H) nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy showed that 2-hydroxyethyl disulfide was successfully introduced into the polythiourethane system. Due to the fracture and reattachment of double sulfur bonds, the 3% SPTU–epoxy coating exhibited good self-healing properties in scratch treatment, the scratch being repaired completely after 2 h at 85°C. Meanwhile, 75.7% of the tensile performance of the completely fractured 3% SPTU–epoxy sample was retained after self-healing. The Tafel polarization curve and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy results showed that the 3% SPTU–epoxy coating had excellent corrosion resistance and still provided considerable corrosion resistance after 19 days of immersion corrosion tests. The self-healing coating exhibited good self-healing ability under heating conditions, which is attributed to the bond breaking and reconnection of dynamic bonds provided by the self-healing component. The self-healing properties and corrosion resistance of the prepared coating effectively improve the service life of the epoxy coating and provide some guidance for corrosion protection of epoxy coatings.

Extrusion-based bioprinting (EBB) holds potential for regenerative medicine. However, the widely-used bioinks of EBB exhibit some limitations for skin regeneration, such as unsatisfactory bio-physical (i.e., mechanical, structural, biodegradable) properties and compromised cellular compatibilities, and the EBB-based bioinks with therapeutic effects targeting cutaneous wounds still remain largely undiscussed. In this review, the printability considerations for skin bioprinting were discussed. Then, current strategies for improving the physical properties of bioinks and for reinforcing bioinks in EBB approaches were introduced, respectively. Notably, we highlighted the applications and effects of current EBB-based bioinks on wound healing, wound scar formation, vascularization and the regeneration of skin appendages (i.e., sweat glands and hair follicles) and discussed the challenges and future perspectives. This review aims to provide an overall view of the applications, challenges and promising solutions about the EBB-based bioinks for cutaneous wound healing and skin regeneration.

The goals and approaches to fluid therapy vary through different stages of resuscitation. This pilot study was designed to test the safety and feasibility of a fluid therapy protocol for the second or optimisation stage of resuscitation in patients with predicted severe acute pancreatitis (SAP).Spontaneously breathing patients with predicted SAP were admitted after initial resuscitation and studied over a 24-h period in a tertiary hospital ward. Objective clinical assessment (OCA; heart rate, mean arterial pressure, urine output, and haematocrit) was done at 0, 4, 8, 12, 18-20, and 24 h. All patients had mini-fluid challenge (MFC; 250 ml intravenous normal saline within 10 min) at 0 h and repeated at 4 and 8 h if OCA score ≥2. Patients who were fluid responsive (10% change in stroke volume after MFC) received 5-10 ml/kg/h, otherwise 1-3 ml/kg/h until the next time point. Passive leg raising test (PLRT) was done at each time point and compared with OCA for assessing volume status and predicting fluid responsiveness.This fluid therapy protocol based on OCA, MFC, and PLRT and designed for the second stage of resuscitation was safe and feasible in spontaneously breathing predicted SAP patients. The PLRT was superior to OCA (at 0 and 8 h) for predicting fluid responsiveness and guiding fluid therapy.This pilot study found that a protocol for intravenous fluid therapy specifically for the second stage of resuscitation in patients with predicted SAP was safe, feasible, and warrants further investigation.
