BACKGROUND: Anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) gene rearrangement is a series of mutations of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients. Since 2011, multiple ALK inhibitors (ALKis) have been developed and launched for targeted therapy. In this study, we sought to investigate different strategies of sequential applying the ALKis and their clinical benefits to the overall survival (OS). METHODS: A total of 176 patients with advanced NSCLC (stage IIIB–IV) harboring the ALK rearrangement were included in this cohort study. They were diagnosed between February 1, 2012 and November 19, 2019 at Peking University Cancer Hospital. Clinical characters were reviewed from patients’ records. Strategies of drugs, progression-free survival (PFS) and OS were collected during the follow-ups. The Kaplan-Meier method and multivariate Cox proportional-hazard analysis were used to conduct the analyses survival and to examine the relationship between the variables and OS. RESULTS: A significantly longer OS was observed either in patients treated with crizotinib [N=106, median OS (mOS): 32.9 months] or in patients treated with a next-generation ALKi [N=34, mOS: not reached (NR)] as the initial ALKi, compared with patients treated with conventional chemotherapy but no ALKi (N=36, mOS: 10.3 months, P

Aim: To investigate the efficacy, safety and optimal dosage of bevacizumab in non-squamous, non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with malignant pleural effusion (MPE). Methods: 20 patients were enrolled and received intrapleural injection of bevacizumab (group A: 2.5 mg/kg d1, d8; group B: 5 mg/kg d1, d8; group C: 7.5 mg/kg d1, d8). Results: The objective response rate (ORR) of MPE was 50%. The median progression-free survival (PFS) of MPE was 7.0 months (95% CI 4.9–9.2). The ORR and PFS of MPE from group B were better than those of group A and group C. The most common adverse events (AEs) were hypertension (15%) and anemia (15%). Conclusion: Bevacizumab has certain efficacy in non-squamous NSCLC patients with MPE. Clinical Trial Registration: NCT02942043 ( ClinicalTrials.gov ).

Data heterogeneity across clients is one of the key challenges in Federated Learning (FL), which may slow down the global model convergence and even weaken global model performance. Most existing approaches tackle the heterogeneity by constraining local model updates through reference to global information provided by the server. This can alleviate the performance degradation on the aggregated global model. Different from existing methods, we focus the information exchange between clients, which could also enhance the effectiveness of local training and lead to generate a high-performance global model. Concretely, we propose a novel FL framework named FedCME by client matching and classifier exchanging. In FedCME, clients with large differences in data distribution will be matched in pairs, and then the corresponding pair of clients will exchange their classifiers at the stage of local training in an intermediate moment. Since the local data determines the local model training direction, our method can correct update direction of classifiers and effectively alleviate local update divergence. Besides, we propose feature alignment to enhance the training of the feature extractor. Experimental results demonstrate that FedCME performs better than FedAvg, FedProx, MOON and FedRS on popular federated learning benchmarks including FMNIST and CIFAR10, in the case where data are heterogeneous.

Objective To investigate the predictive and guiding significance of peripheral blood biomarkers on the therapeutic effects of PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitor treatment on lung cancer patients. Methods We collected the data of 200 lung cancer patients treated with PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors treatment, including clinical indicators, peripheral blood indicators, efficacy indicators and survival indicators. Results The DCR of patients with non-hepatic metastasis, immune combined chemotherapy, NLR≤2.81 and LDH≤202.5 u/L was higher (P < 0.05). The AUC value of NLR combined with LDH predicting DCR was 0.698 (P < 0.05). Univariate analysis showed that non-hepatic metastasis, first-line immunotherapy, immunotherapy combined with chemotherapy and LDH≤202.5 u/L were related to PFS (P < 0.05). Multivariate analysis showed that the patients with non-hepatic metastasis and LDH≤202.5 u/L had longer PFS (P < 0.05). The significant decrease of NLR and LDH after two cycles of immunotherapy indicated the effectiveness of immunotherapy (P < 0.05). Conclusion NLR≤2.81, LDH≤202.5 u/L, non-hepatic metastasis and immunotherapy combined chemotherapy are positively correlated with immunotherapy efficacy. Non-hepatic metastasis and LDH≤202.5 u/L are independent prognostic factors of the patients treated with immunotherapy. The changes of peripheral blood NLR and LDH are related to the efficacy of PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors treatment.

A located field experiment was conducted to investigate, dynamic change of the soil active nitrogen concentration, and nitrogen availability under application of reduced chemical fertilizer combined with Chinese milk vetch. Another aim was to explore the optimal application rate of Chinese milk vetch fresh grass and nitrogen utilization efficiency, thus providing theoretical basis for the rational application of nitrogen fertilizer in double cropping paddy soil. Soil samples were collected in the typical period of rice-rice-Chinese milk vetch rotation, i.e., before the incorporation of Chinese milk vetch(S1), tillering stage of early rice(S2), mature stage of early rice(S3), tillering stage of late rice(S4), and mature stage of late rice(S5). The samples were analyzed for the dynamic changes in soil microbial biomass nitrogen(MBN), dissolved organic nitrogen(DON), and nitrogen availability. The concentrations of NH4+-N and NO- 3-N in the soil at the mature stage of late rice were also analyzed. The results showed that compared with CK treatment, each fertilization treatment led to an increase in the concentration of soil total nitrogen(TN), ammonia nitrogen(NH4+-N), and nitrate nitrogen(NO- 3-N), with an increase of 10.4%~21.2%, 10.3%~44.1%, and 14.7%~52.9%, respectively. The concentrations increased with the amount of Chinese milk vetch applied(15.0~22.5 t·hm-2), but showed a decreasing trend when the applied amount was over 22.5 t·hm-2. Compared with the conventional fertilization, the application of reduced chemical fertilizer combined with Chinese milk vetch led to an increase in the contents of soil MBN, DON, and active nitrogen, with an increase of 7.0%~28.7%, 8.5%~22.5%, and 5.8%~26.6%, respectively. The concentrations of MBN, DON, and active nitrogen increased first and then decreased with the increase in the amount of Chinese milk vetch. The content of both MBN and active nitrogen was highest at 22.5 t·hm-2 of Chinese milk vetch, while that of DON was highest at 30.0 t·hm-2 of Chinese milk vetch. The ratio of MBN to TN was highest at 22.5 t·hm-2 of Chinese milk vetch, whereas that of DON to TN was highest at 30.0 t·hm-2 of Chinese milk vetch. The concentrations of MBN and DON in soil and the ratios of MBN to TN and DON to TN fluctuated significantly between different periods of the same treatment. In general, the soil MBN concentration and the ratio of MBN to TN decreased significantly in the tillering stage of early rice, rebounded in the mature stage of early rice, and gradually decreased in the mature stage of late rice. The soil DON concentration and the ratio of DON to TN decreased to the lowest level in the mature stage of early rice, and then increased again in the mature stage of late rice stage. Comprehensively, the long-term cultivation of Chinese milk vetch under 40% reduced chemical fertilization can not only increase the soil active nitrogen concentration, but also improve the soil nitrogen availability. Moreover, the optimal application rate of Chinese milk vetch is recommended as 22.5~30.0 t·hm-2.

Objective To explore the impact of venous thromboembolism (VTE) on the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer patients. Methods We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of lung cancer patients with VTE treated in Peking University Cancer Hospital. The incidence of VTE was calculated and the relation between VTE and lung cancer was analyzed. Results Among 1766 patients with lung cancer, VTE occurred in 115(6.5%) patients. Among 115 VTE cases, there were 78(67.8%) males patients; 82(71.3%) cases were deep venous thrombosis, 21(18.3%) cases were pulmonary embolism, 12(10.4%) cases were deep venous thrombosis with pulmonary embolism; 74(64.3%) cases were symptomatic VTE; 102(88.7%) patients received antithrombotic therapy. Among the patients who received antithrombotic therapy, 97(95.1%) cases chose drug therapy. In drug treatment, 65(67.0%) cases used adequate/standard dose. Among 115 VTE cases, 52(45.2%) patients had improvement or disappearance of thrombus, 32(27.8%) patients had no improvement, and 31(27.0%) patients with unknown results; 11(9.6%) patients had adverse reactions such as bleeding during antithrombotic therapy; 30(26.1%) patients changed antineoplastic treatment plan due to VTE. Conclusion VTE is a common complication of lung cancer patients. Antithrombotic therapy for lung cancer patients with VTE is complex, the treatment effect is not ideal and the risk of adverse reactions such as bleeding is high. VTE has a great impact on the implementation of anti-cancer treatment.

The trade war initiated by the Trump administration is the largest since the US imposed the Smoot-Hawley tariffs in the 1930s and was still raging when he left office. We analyze how the trade war impacted the 2020 US Presidential election. Our results highlight the political salience of the trade war: US trade war tariffs boosted Trump’s support but foreign retaliation hurt Trump. In particular, the pro-Trump effects of US trade war tariffs were crucial for Trump crossing the recount thresholds in Georgia and Wisconsin. These effects cross political and racial lines, suggesting the mechanism operates through the impact on local economies rather than political polarization. Even more important politically, voters abandoned Trump in counties with large expansions of health insurance coverage since the Affordable Care Act, presumably fearing the roll-back of such expansion. Absent this anti-Trump effect, Trump would have been on the precipice of re-election by winning Georgia, Arizona, Nevada, and only losing Wisconsin by a few thousand votes.

Time series prediction is one of the important tasks of data mining, which provides key guidance for a lot of work, such as financial stock prediction, water level prediction, and so on. The preliminary work of time series prediction includes data anomaly detection, missing time series repair, and other tasks. Aiming at all kinds of water level and discharge time series data around Chaohu lake, this paper proposes a convolution neural network prediction model combined with a significance detection algorithm. The preprocessing module of the model makes use of the improved significance detection algorithm of computer vision and a principle of electric field repair. Taking the water level and discharge of each station around Chaohu lake from June to August 2020 as convolution neural network (CNN)input and the water level of Zhongmiao station in Chaohu lake in the next 5 days as prediction output, an excellent prediction result with MAE of 0.056m is obtained. At the same time, it is proved that the computer vision algorithm is feasible in dealing with one-dimensional time series.

With the development of human beings, the pollution of freshwater resources occurs very frequently, which directly leads to the reduction of available water sources and the increase of maintenance costs. In order to manage and protect water resources better, a large number of sensors are used to monitor water quality. However, the problem of missing data has a negative impact on our data analysis work. In this paper, we propose a new missing value imputation model which based on GRU autoencoder with input-decay(GRUD-AE). The prediction module is added to the output of the autoencoder to realize the short-term prediction. The model is trained with datasets which contain missing value. The input-decay module is applied to learning the time correlation of sequences which could help improve imputation accuracy. Experiments show that our model performs better than the traditional missing value imputation and prediction methods.

A high performance thermally expanded reduced graphene oxide (TErGO) nanocomposite decorated with Ni3C-Ni nanoparticles (TErGO/Ni3C-Ni) has been successfully synthesized by using a facile and eco-friendly approach. The morphology, textural features, surface composition and stability of TErGO/Ni3C-Ni nanocomposite are investigated by various physicochemical characterizations which revealed the uniform dispersion of crystalline metal nanoparticles inside TErGO matrix. The composite has been exhibited a large surface area and pore volume of 121 m2 g−1 and 0.791 cm3 g−1, respectively. The TErGO/Ni3C-Ni exhibited remarkable catalytic performance surpassing most metal-based catalysts with various kind of support matrices reported in recent literature. The reduction of Cr(Ⅵ) to Cr(Ⅲ) was achieved within 1 min with an excellent rate constant of 2.74 min−1 and phenomenally higher specific removal rate (SRR) of 0.29 mg Cr(VI) min−1. mg−1 of TErGO/Ni3C-Ni. While it also proved an excellent reducing catalyst for organic dyes via NaBH4 with full reduction achieved within 30 s. Moreover, as prepared nanocatalyst possesses excellent stability and recyclability with easy magnetic separation.

The CARES Act implemented in response to the COVID-19 crisis dramatically increases the generosity of unemployment insurance (UI) benefits, triggering concerns about its substantial impact on unemployment. This paper combines a labor market search-matching model with the SIR-type infection dynamics to study the effects of CARES UI on both unemployment and infection. More generous UI policies create work disincentives and lead to higher unemployment, but they also reduce infection and save lives. Economic shutdown policies further amplify these effects of UI policies. Quantitatively, the CARES UI policies raise unemployment by an average of 3.7 percentage points over April to December 2020 but also reduce cumulative death by 4.7 percent. Eligibility expansion and the extra $600 increase in benefit level account for more than 90 percent of the total effects, while the 13-week benefit duration extension plays a much smaller role. Overall, UI policies improve the welfare of workers and reduce the welfare of nonworkers, both young and old.

The development of polymeric optical materials with a higher refractive index, transparency in the visible spectrum region and easier processability is increasingly desirable for advanced optical applications such as microlenses, image sensors, and organic light-emitting diodes. Most acrylates have a low refractive index (around 1.50) which does not meet the high performance requirements of advanced optical materials. In this research, three novel acrylates were synthesized via a facile one-step approach and used to fabricate optical transparent polymers. All of the polymers reveal good optical properties including high transparency (≥90%) in the visible spectrum region and high refractive index values (1.6363) at 550 nm. Moreover, nanostructures of these acrylate polymers with various feature sizes including nanogratings and photonic crystals were successfully fabricated using nanoimprint lithography. These results indicate that these acrylates can be used in a wide range of optical and optoelectronic devices where nanopatterned films with high refractive index and transparency are required.

With the phenomenon of code reuse is becoming more widespread in the same malicious family, this paper proposed a method to detect malicious code using a novel neural net. To implement our proposed detection method, malicious code was transformed into RGB images according to its binary sequence. Then, because of code reuse features can be revealed in the image, the images were identified and classified automatically using a flexible and lightweight neural net. In addition, we utilized dropout algorithm to address the data imbalance among different malware families. The experimental results demonstrated that our model performs well in accuracy and rate of convergence as compared with other models.

During the past five years, 6, 7, and 26 transit observations were carried out for the HAT-P-9b, HAT-P-32b, and HAT-P-36b systems, respectively, through the Transiting Exoplanet Monitoring Project network. Combined with the published photometric data and radial-velocity measurements, our new photometry allows us to revisit the system parameters and search for additional close-in planetary companions in these hot Jupiter systems. We measure an updated R P /R ∗ = 0.1260 ±0.0011 for HAT-P-36 system in the R band, which is 4.5σ larger than the published i-band radius ratio of 0.1186 ±0.0012. We also perform a transit timing variation (TTV) analysis for each system. Because no significant TTVs were found, we place an upper mass limit on an additional planet for each system.

Addresses the needs of forefront of astronomical data management research, this paper proposes a data retrieval method combining ontology and parallel computing technologies, establishes an astronomical ontology database, explores the parallelization of ontology reasoning and retrieval process based on the ontology database, and designs the parallel retrieval system. The experimental results show that the proposed method effectively improves the efficiency of astronomical data retrieval.

The development of hydraulic fracturing and horizontal drilling has brought significant structural change to the energy sector, increasing energy production and decreasing net energy imports. Future changes in energy policy or technology could have even larger effects on energy exports and thus overall exports. As a result, distinguishing energy from non-energy components of trade becomes important for forecasts in both the near and longer term. Craig S. Hakkio and Jun Nie introduce models separating energy from the non-energy components of trade to examine how changes in energy production affect trade forecasts. Results from the models suggest U.S. energy exports will increase in 2014 and 2015 while non-energy exports decline, reducing the current aggregate real trade deficit by about 14 percent.

To evaluate the effects of Sema4D on cell proliferation, cell cycle progression, apoptosis, invasion, and migration of MDA-MB-231 and MDA-MB-468 cells, methods including MTT assay, flow cytometry, wound healing assay, and transwell experiments were applied. BALB/c nude mice were injected with MDA-MB-231 cells, which were respectively infected with lentiviruses-encoding Sema4D, Sema4D shRNA, and GFP, followed by tumor angiogenesis assay.Results: Sema4D was expressed at higher levels in breast cancer cell lines compared with the normal human breast epithelial cell lines, especially in MDA-MB-231 and MDA-MB-468 cells. Cell proliferation ability was remarkably inhibited in Sema4D downregulated condition, whereas the proportions of cells in the G0/G1 phase and apoptosis increased in MDA-MB-231 and MDA-MB-468 cells. In addition, the invasion and migration abilities of these cells were obviously reduced. Xenograft growth as well as angiogenesis was inhibited when infected with lentiviruses-encoding Sema4D shRNA in vivo.Conclusion: Downregulation of Sema4D had notable influence on cell proliferation ability, invasion, migration, and apoptosis of both MDA-MB-231 and MDA-MB-468 cells. Furthermore, infection with lentiviruses-encoding Sema4D shRNA obviously inhibited tumor growth and angiogenesis in BALB/c nude mice. In couple of years, epoxy UV curing has emerged as a necessity, yet it has some limitations, e.g. little curing conversion of thick films, especially with colored additives. Thick dimensions do not allow radiation to penetrate into the sample. Moreover, colored additives cover photoinitiators and reduce their efficiency. Therefore, UV-cured epoxy composites survive only in thin layers. Current research has resolved the issue, through a unique “smart approach,” which resolves the problem by separating the initiation step of the reaction (which is true photo-induced reaction) from the propagation (which is not directly dependent on light). This approach completely photo-cures epoxy thick films with colored additives. Superb filler dispersion has been observed, along with strongly interconnected polymeric network. Augmentation in thermo-mechanical properties has been observed through different instrumental techniques.

Dual-cure polyurethane acrylates (PUA) with different double bonds content were synthesized by using aliphatic polyisocyanate and 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate (HEA). The molecular structures were identified by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrum and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). Molecular weight ( M w ) and glass-transition temperature ( T g ) of PUA were measured by gel permeation chromatography and DSC, respectively. The pendulum hardness, pencil hardness, flexibility and abrasion resistance properties of dual-cure system were tested, the results indicated that the pendulum hardness, pencil hardness, and MEK resistance increased, but the flexibility reduced with the double bonds content increased. The mechanical properties of dual-cure system were greatly improved after the heat treatment.

Ultrafine fibers of chitosan/poly(vinyl alcohol)/poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) (CS/PVA/PVP) were prepared via electrospinning. The structure and morphology of CS/PVA/PVP ultrafine fibers was characterized by the Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscope and scanning electron microscope (SEM). Furthermore, the effects of the concentration of PVA, PVP and the electrospinning voltage on the morphology of ultrafine fibers were investigated the the SEM. When the concentration of PVA was at the range of 30wt%–40wt%, ultrafine fibers could be obtained. The diameter distributions of ultrafine fibers decreased when the electrospinning voltage increased from 20 to 30 kV. The rough surface fibers could be obtained after etching with CHCl3.

This paper derives the general equilibrium effects of rational inattention (or RI; Sims 2003,2010) in a model of incomplete income insurance (Huggett 1993, Wang 2003). We show that,under the assumption of CARA utility with Gaussian shocks, the permanent income hypothesis (PIH) arises in steady state equilibrium due to a balancing of precautionary savings and impatience. We then explore how RI affects the equilibrium joint dynamics of consumption, income and wealth, and find that elastic attention can make the model fit the data better. We finally show that the welfare costs of incomplete information are even smaller due to general equilibrium adjustments in interest rates.

U.S. export growth tends to vary with changes in different foreign regions' economic growth rates. This article estimates how much change in U.S. export growth may be associated with a rise or fall in a given region's GDP growth.

Backend system, as a part of the radio telescope, receives the radio signal which is amplified by the receiver, lays its emphasis on signal digitization and processing, and sends the processed data into storage system. Digital backend as a standard facility of radio telescope takes the place of analog backend, and multi-functional backend system is on its way to perfection. The backend hardware platforms, such as FPGA, GPU, CPU, and MIC, and they can be chosen when designing radio telescope backend system. The 110 m radio telescope (QTT), which is proposed to be built in Xinjiang Qitai, is planned with L, S, C, K wide/ultrawide band single pixel receivers, L band PAF and Q, W band conventional multibeam receivers, and the adaptive ultrawide band digital backend system will also be designed. Based on development of radio telescope backend system and introduction of worldwide research frontiers, we discussed and designed the digital backend plan and roadmap for QTT.

Considering the problem on generating test papers is multi-objective parameter optimization under multiple constraints. I proposed a new improved genetic algorithm based on the researches of the mathematical model of generating test paper after encoding segmented chromosome, confirming adaptability function, segmented group initialization, altering adaptive crossover probability and mutation probability and conserve optimization individuals. This method implemented generating test paper well, and the experimental results show that this improved genetic algorithm is more practical and effective compared to the common algorithm in the same conditions.

The role of surgery in limited small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is still controversial. To assess the role of surgery in SCLC we performed a retrospective analysis of survival in a group of limited stage patients, who were managed with trimodal therapy including surgery, or with chemotherapy and radiotherapy.We performed a retrospective survival analysis in a series of 153 limited stage SCLC patients treated between 1995 and 2013. Kaplan-Meier survival analysis and Cox regression analysis were used to calculate the overall survival of the surgical and non-surgical groups.Median survival in all patients was 21.5 months. Median survival for surgical and non-surgical patients was 30.5 months and 16.9 months, respectively. The survival curves for the two arms are significantly different (P0.01). In multivariate analysis, the benefit of surgical treatment and thoracic radiotherapy varied in a time-dependent fashion.Our results suggest that surgery added to chemotherapy and radiotherapy may be associated with a therapeutic benefit in limited SCLC.

This paper studies the aggregate dynamics of durable and nondurable consumption under slow information diffusion (SID) due to noisy observations and learning within the permanent income framework. We show that SID can significantly improve the model’s predictions on the joint behavior of income, durable consumption, and nondurable consumption at the aggregate level. Specifically, we find that SID can significantly improve the model’s predictions for: (i) smoothness in durable and nondurable consumption, (ii) autocorrelation of durable consumption, and (iii) contemporaneous correlation between durable and nondurable consumption. Furthermore, we discuss that incorporating a fixed cost into our SID model does a better job of reproducing the infrequent adjustments of durable consumption at the individual level and the slow adjustments at the aggregate level.
