Aneurysmal bone cyst (ABC) is a rare benign bone tumor characteristic of the first decades of life. Malignization of ABC in the absence of risk factors such as radiotherapy is extremely rare, with few cases published in the literature. There are malignant tumors such as telangiectatic osteosarcoma with an initial clinical, radiological and anatomopathological resemblance that requires special attention in their differential diagnosis. We present two patients with an initial histologic diagnosis of ABC who developed true malignancy, in the absence of risk factors, into osteoblastic osteosarcoma and epithelioid angiosarcoma. In spite of its exceptional nature, in the presence of an aggressive type of ABC malignant degeneration should always be suspected and therefore, an open biopsy and wide resection performed for a correct diagnosis to avoid residual microscopic disease in case of aggressiveness. Epithelioid angiosarcoma from an ABC tumor malignancy has never been described before.

Therefore, it would be of great interest to unravel the mechanisms implicated in the ABA response, using a metabolomic approach. The aim of this work has been to use a combination of metabolomic tools to identify the main metabolic pathways involved in ABA-mediated regulation of chilling tolerance in zucchini fruit. As a result of this study, it was found that ABA modulates the primary metabolism inducing the accumulation of some sugars, organic acids such as succinic acid and amino acids including histidine, serine, phenylalanine, glutamic acid and γ-aminobutyric acid, and that are involved in low-temperature tolerance. ABA treatment also activates the t-zeatin and riboflavin biosynthesis during the first days of cold storage which can be important signals in the ABA-mediated cold response to induce tolerance in zucchini fruit., Departamento Fisiología Vegetal. El presente trabajo propone un estudio comparativo del conflicto anglo-español que estalló en 1655 de resultas de la puesta en práctica de la denominada política del Western Design de Oliver Cromwell. Con ello, lo que intentamos es indagar en los efectos que esa guerra trajo consigo para ambas partes involucradas, poniendo especial atención a sus capacidades marítimas y a las relaciones diplomáticas. En una dimensión más amplia, nuestra tesis se pregunta por los orígenes de la hegemonía marítima inglesa, que no deberían encontrarse en la era isabelina, sino más bien durante el Interregno (1649-1660). Para ello hacemos hincapié en la política marítima que los sucesivos gobiernos fomentaron en la Inglaterra de los años 1650, lo que también nos ayuda a comprender mejor el contexto favorable en el que Oliver Cromwell puso en marcha su proyecto imperial americano. Aunque esta cuestión ha sido objetivo de múltiples estudios especializados desde el si-glo XIX en adelante, estos principalmente se han enfocado en la conquista inglesa de Jamaica, relegando al olvido los otros frentes de guerra. En cambio, la presente tesis trata de comprender también los teatros de operaciones europeos, donde las fuerzas navales inglesas activamente se afanaron en bloquear las rutas marítimas españolas con las Indias Occidentales, así como obs-truir el sistema de flotas y galeones anuales, un objetivo alegóricamente referido como «Río Éufrates». Si pasamos de soslayo por estos hechos, no solo dificultamos la adecuada compren-sión de la estrategia seguida por la marina militar inglesa, consistente en múltiples escuadras combinadas, sino también cómo condicionó la evolución del frente de Flandes, donde se halla-ban desplegadas las principales fuerzas españolas. En este sentido, y entre otros factores, el conflicto anglo-español precipitó el colapso final del esfuerzo de guerra español, acelerando así una decadencia que se mantendría hasta el mismo final de siglo. Como tampoco hemos querido afrontar el estudio de esta contienda como un hecho del todo aislado; una de nuestras principales preocupaciones ha sido su inserción dentro de la coyuntura crítica de mediados del siglo XVII. Lejos de constreñir las repercusiones de la guerra a la mera conquista de Jamaica, estas nos ponen en comunión con un piélago de fenómenos asociados que conciernen a la alteración geopolítica tanto en Europa como en las Indias Occidentales. Nos sitúa, además, ante la reconfiguración del marco de relaciones diplomáticas entre España e Inglaterra, ya que al declive de la primera siguió el auge de la segunda. The present thesis aims at a comparative study of the Anglo-Spanish War that broke out in 1655 as a consequence of Oliver Cromwell’s so-called Western Design policy. In doing so, what we intend to do is to delve into the effects that that war entailed for both engaged sides, paying a thorough attention to their maritime capabilities and their diplomatic relations. In a wider di-mension our study wonders about the origins of English seaborne hegemony, which may not be found in the Elizabethan era, but in the Interregnum. Hence we highlight the maritime policy that successive governments of 1650s England fostered, which also enables us to better under-stand the propitious context in which Oliver Cromwell launched his imperial project. In spite of the fact that this issue has been the object of multiple studies since the 19th century, scholars have chiefly focused hitherto on the English conquest of Jamaica, while rele-gating the other battlefronts to a second plane. By contrast, the present thesis also aims at en-compassing the European theatre of operations, where the English naval forces actively tried to block the Spanish shipping routes with the West Indies as well as obstruct the annual fleets and galleons system, a target allegorically referred to as the “Euphrates River”. Ignoring these facts not only hampers the proper understanding of the strategy that the English navy followed during the war, which consisted of several combined squadrons, but also how it determined the evolu-tion of the Flanders frontline, where main Spanish forces were deployed. In this sense, and amongst other factors, the Anglo-Spanish conflict prompted the final collapse of Spain’s war effort, accelerating thus a decline which remained until the very end of the century. Nor have we wanted to face the study of this contest as a completely isolated event; one of our main concerns has been its insertion within the critical conjuncture of the mid-seven-teenth century. Far from constraining the repercussions of the war to the mere conquest of Ja-maica, they put us in touch with a sea of associated phenomena concerning geopolitical disrup-tion in both Europe and the West Indies. It also places us before the reconfiguration of the framework of diplomatic relations between Spain and England, since the decline of the first was followed by the rise of the second.

Background New intraocular lenses (IOLs) have emerged since the originally coined monofocal and multifocal IOLs. The extended depth of focus (EDoF) and enhanced monofocal IOLs (mono-EDoF) that have appeared in the last decade have caused some confusion in their classification. The aim of this review was to summarize the outcomes provided by mono-EDOF IOLs and to determine which of the endpoints, described by the American National Standard (ANSI) for EDoF IOLs, are fulfilled. Methods The MEDLINE, EMBASE, and WEB OF SCIENCE databases were searched. Two independent reviewers screened the studies for inclusion and data extraction. The search strategy was limited to studies published between 2020 and 2022, but not by language. The results are presented as a narrative summary accompanied by tables, in alignment with the objectives of this scoping review. Compliance with the endpoints for clinical outcomes described in the American National Standard Z80.35–2018 (ANSI) for EDoF lenses was checked and additional endpoints were defined. Results Two systematic reviews, 13 laboratory, 21 clinical, and two mixed studies were included. Tecnis Eyhance was the mono-EDOF with the highest volume of evidence to date. Although laboratory studies included other IOLs, clinical evidence for them is still scarce, with only one study of IsoPure compared to a standard monofocal IOL. Evidence in comparison to EDoF lenses is also scarce, even for Tecnis Eyhance, with only three studies including this lens in comparison to an EDoF lens. After evaluation of the ANSI criteria, agreement was found in the failure for the increase in depth of field equal to or greater than 0.5 D for a visual acuity (VA) level of 0.2 logMAR and none of the studies supported that the median monocular VA at intermediate distance was at least 0.2 logMAR. Conclusions Additional clinical evidence is required for other mono-EDOF IOLs beyond Tecnis Eyhance. Until the arrival of a standard classification, mono-EDOF should be better still classified as monofocal because the ANSI standards were not fully met.

En los Diez libros de Arquitectura, Vitruvio especifica el diseño del Capitel Jónico con más detalle que para ningún otro elemento. Sin embargo, el resultado del dibujo de los tratadistas de arquitectura, principalmente surgidos en el Renacimiento a la luz del texto vitruviano, es muy distinto según cada autor. El presente artículo es una investigación inédita que se ha desarrollado ampliamente en lo que representa una tesis doctoral igualmente inédita hasta la fecha y cuyo tribunal fue de participación nacional e internacional de investigadores de Expresión Gráfica Arquitectónica y entendemos que, esta revista internacional de EGA, es el medio más adecuado para dar conocimiento de parte de la investigación original tratada. No solo resulta controvertido el trazado del Capitel Jónico entre los diversos tratadistas a lo largo de la historia de la arquitectura, sino también entre las traducciones del Tratado de Vitruvio consultadas. Entre ellas existen disparidades que se reflejan tanto en relación a la altura hasta la que se adopta un grosor de Ábaco u otro, como en la ubicación del ojo de la Voluta respecto al Astrágalo. Esta dificultad de explicar literalmente lo que ha de ejecutarse, se resuelve fácilmente por métodos gráficos. Por ello, Vitruvio nos remite para el trazado de este Capitel, a la figura incluida en su último libro que, junto a otros dibujos, no han llegado hasta nosotros. Exponemos las incógnitas relacionadas con este elemento en diversos tratados y traducciones del texto de Vitruvio, resolviendo, en nuestra investigación, tres importantes cuestiones: La relación modular de sus dimensiones, la disposición del ojo de la Voluta en relación con el Astrágalo del Fuste y el necesario dimensionamiento por métodos geométricos del Capitel para poder obtener una altura de Columna determinada. In the Ten Books on Architecture, Vitruvius specifies the design of the Ionic Capital in more detail than for any other element. However, the result of the drawing of the architecture writers, mainly emerged in the Renaissance in the light of the Vitruvian text, is very different according to each author. This article is an unpublished piece of research that has been extensively developed in what represents an equally to date unpublished doctoral thesis, and whose court was of national and international participation of Architectural Graphic Expression researchers. We believe that this international EGA journal is the most appropriate means to give knowledge on part of the original research. Not only is the layout of the Ionic Capital controversial among the various treatise writers throughout the history of architecture, but also among the translations of the Vitruvian Treatise consulted. There are disparities between them that are reflected both in relation to the height up to which one thickness of the Abacus or another is adopted, as well as in the location of the eye of the Volute with respect to the Astragalus. This difficulty of literally explaining what has to be executed is easily solved by graphical methods. For this reason, Vitruvio refers us, for the layout of this Capital, to the figure included in the last book that, together with other drawings, have not come down to us. We expose the unknowns related to this element in various treatises and translations of Vitruvio’s text, resolving, in our investigation, three important questions: The modular relationship of its dimensions, the arrangement of the eye of the Volute in relation to the Astragalus of the Shaft and the necessary sizing by geometric methods of the Capital in order to obtain a determined Column height.

Objective: The aim of this review is to summarize the laboratory and clinical evidence of the new enhanced monofocal IOLs and to positioning them in comparison to extended depth of focus standard definition. Introduction: New intraocular lenses (IOLs) for patients with different needs have emerged since the originally coined monofocal and multifocal intraocular lenses. The extended depth-of-focus (EDOF) and enhanced monofocal IOLs appearing in the last decade have originated some confusion in its classification. Inclusion criteria: Original clinical studies published in peer-reviewed literature including case series, either retrospective or prospective, of enhanced monofocal intraocular lenses, interventional randomized or non-randomized studies comparing to conventional monofocal or extended depth of focus lenses, and laboratory studies reporting the optical characteristics of the IOLs. Systematic reviews, meta-analyses, case reports and comments will be also considered. Methods: The MEDLINE, EMBASE and WEB OF SCIENCE databases will be searched. The screening of the literature for inclusion and data extraction will be conducted by two independent reviewers. The results will be presented as a narrative summary, accompanied by tables and/or charts, in alignment with the objective of this scoping review. Accomplishment of the end-points for clinical outcomes described in the standards of EDOF lenses will we checked, additional end-points will be defined.

[EN] This paper presents the process of designing a qualitative analysis model for its application in those audiovisual contents that present themes related to the Sustainable Development Goals collected by the UN in the 2030 Agenda; specifically, SDGs 5 and 10 which work on equality. The model is grounded on the methodological basis of audiovisual analysis by Mikos, Aumont and Marie, Gaudreault and Jost, among others. Some of their proposed analysis parameters have been improved for better applicability in audiovisual content seeking the cognitive and empathic participation of viewers on stories that represent events and actions contrary to sustainable development and social good. The design of this model has been tested in 19 short films developed by undergraduate students within the framework of an educational innovation project that is currently being developed at the Universitat Politècnica de València. The outcomes obtained from the experience are shown, as well as several ways of improvement of the model for its future application in other educational projects on SDGs., [ES] La presente comunicación expone el proceso de diseño de un modelo de análisis cualitativo para su aplicación en aquellos contenidos audiovisuales que presenten temáticas relacionadas con los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenibles recogidos por la ONU en la Agenda 2030; en concreto, los ODS 5 y 10 que trabajan sobre la igualdad de género y la reducción de las desigualdades, respectivamente. A partir de las líneas metodológicas de análisis audiovisual puestas a punto por Mikos, Aumont y Marie, Gaudreault y Jost entre otros, se han refinado algunos de los parámetros de análisis propuestos para su mejor aplicabilidad en contenidos audiovisuales que buscan la participación cognitiva y empática de los espectadores ante unos relatos que representan acontecimientos contrarios al desarrollo sostenible y el bien social. El diseño del modelo ha sido testeado en 20 cortometrajes realizados por estudiantes de grado en el marco de un proyecto de innovación educativa que está siendo desarrollado actualmente en la Universitat Politècnica de València. Se muestran los resultados obtenidos de la experiencia y se proponen vías de mejora para su aplicación futura en otros proyectos educativos sobre ODS.

Producción Científica, Over the last years, there is accumulating evidence that acidic organelles can accumulate and release Ca2+ upon cell activation. Hence, reliable recording of Ca2+ dynamics in these compartments is essential for understanding the physiopathological aspects of acidic organelles. Genetically encoded Ca2+ indicators (GECIs) are valuable tools to monitor Ca2+ in specific locations, although their use in acidic compartments is challenging due to the pH sensitivity of most available fluorescent GECIs. By contrast, bioluminescent GECIs have a combination of features (marginal pH sensitivity, low background, no phototoxicity, no photobleaching, high dynamic range and tunable affinity) that render them advantageous to achieve an enhanced signal-to-noise ratio in acidic compartments. This article reviews the use of bioluminescent aequorin-based GECIs targeted to acidic compartments. Background Peripheral parenteral nutrition (PPN) is increasingly considered as an alternative to central parenteral nutrition (CPN) given the higher cost and more frequent clinical complications associated with the latter. However, the assessment of potential risks and benefits of PPN in critically ill pediatric canine patients has not been extensively performed. In this study, we aimed to explore the effect of short-term, hypocaloric PPN on weight loss, length of hospital stay, the incidence of complications, adverse effects, and mortality in critically ill pediatric canine patients. Results Between August 2015 and August 2018, a total of 59 critically ill pediatric canine patients aged from 1 to 6 months admitted at the Veterinary Sciences Research Institute of the Autonomous University of Baja California were included in this non-randomized clinical trial. Canine pediatric patients were initially allocated to 3 groups: 11 in group 1 receiving parenteral nutrition (PN) supplementation equivalent to 40% of the resting energy requirement (RER), 12 in group 2 receiving supplementation of 50% of the RER, and 36 in group 3 receiving no PN supplementation. After establishing that there was no significant difference between 40 and 50% of PN supplementation, these groups were not separated for downstream analysis. Similar lengths of hospital stays were noted among study subjects who received PN supplementation and those who did not (4.3 ± 1.5 vs. 5.0 ± 1.5, days, p = 0.097). No metabolic-, sepsis- or phlebitis-related complications were observed in any animal in the PPN supplemented group. Higher mortality (19.4% vs. 0%, p = 0.036), and a greater percentage of weight loss (9.24% vs. 0%, p Conclusion Even though short-term, hypocaloric PPN did not reduce the length of hospital stay, it was associated with lower mortality and resulted in mitigation of weight loss. In contrast to previous studies evaluating central and peripheral parenteral nutrition protocols, we observed a lower frequency of metabolic, septic, and phlebitis complications using a 40–50% parenteral nutrition treatment. The parenteral nutrition therapeutic intervention used in our study may reduce PN-related adverse effects and promote a favorable disease outcome in critically ill canine patients. Larger studies will be needed to confirm these observations.

Importance: Globe salvage marks the treatment success of retinoblastoma. Background: To evaluate four treatment strategies in group D and group E retinoblastoma. Design: Retrospective case series in a tertiary hospital. Participants: 81 patients with Group D and Group E retinoblastoma. Methods: Participants were divided into four sets. In set I, eyes received primary intravenous chemotherapy (IVC), cryotherapy (CT), laser therapy (LT) and Intravitreal Chemotherapy with Melphalan (IViC). In set II, primary IVC was combined with second line IVC, CT, LT and IVT-M. Set III eyes received primary IVC and Intra-arterial chemotherapy (IAC), CT, LT and IViC. Set IV eyes received IAC, CT, LT and IViC. Treatment failure was defined as inadequate response during or after IVC or IAC. Main Outcome Measures: globe salvage and enucleation rates. Results: 52 eyes were included in group D and 29 in group E. In group D, globe salvage was obtained in 8 out of 11 eyes in Set I, 13 out of 19 eyes in set II, 5 out 6 eyes in set III, and 13 out of 16 eyes in set IV. In group E, enucleation was performed in 17 eyes. Global salvage was obtained in 0 out of 2 eyes in set I, 2 out of 3 eyes in set II, 3 out of 5 in set III, and in 1 out of 2 eyes in set IV. Conclusions: IVC with adjuvant IAC, LT, CT and IViC has shown favorable results as a treatment method for group D and group E retinoblastoma.

[EN] This paper deals with the seismic column design of 35 elevated RC water storage tanks. Tanks comprise a top conic trunk reservoir, a column with variable hollow square cross-sections, and a shallow foundation on a sand layer. The five-column heights considered are 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40 m. The five tanks are subjected to seven degrees of seismic loading characterized by the reference peak ground acceleration in Eurocode 8. The elevated tanks are designed against the full prescriptions of Eurocode 2, Eurocode 8, and the Spaniard Structural Code of Practice. This includes variable loads for seismicity, wind, snow, etc., together with the action of self-weight and dead loads. The optimization design method considered is a variant of the old bachelor algorithm, an adaptive threshold acceptance method with a neighborhood move based on the mutation operator from genetic algorithms. Column results show the high nonlinearity of the problem since the horizontal seismic forces depend on the rigidity and height of the columns. La presente Tesis Doctoral aborda la aplicación de métodos meshless, o métodos sin malla, a problemas de autovalores, fundamentalmente vibraciones libres y pandeo. En particular, el estudio se centra en aspectos tales como los procedimientos para la resolución numérica del problema de autovalores con estos métodos, el coste computacional y la viabilidad de la utilización de matrices de masa o matrices de rigidez geométrica no consistentes. Además, se acomete en detalle el análisis del error, con el objetivo de determinar sus principales fuentes y obtener claves que permitan la aceleración de la convergencia. Aunque en la actualidad existe una amplia variedad de métodos meshless en apariencia independientes entre sí, se han analizado las diferentes relaciones entre ellos, deduciéndose que el método Element-Free Galerkin Method [Método Galerkin Sin Elementos] (EFGM) es representativo de un amplio grupo de los mismos. Por ello se ha empleado como referencia en este análisis. Muchas de las fuentes de error de un método sin malla provienen de su algoritmo de interpolación o aproximación. En el caso del EFGM ese algoritmo es conocido como Moving Least Squares [Mínimos Cuadrados Móviles] (MLS), caso particular del Generalized Moving Least Squares [Mínimos Cuadrados Móviles Generalizados] (GMLS). La formulación de estos algoritmos indica que la precisión de los mismos se basa en los siguientes factores: orden de la base polinómica p(x), características de la función de peso w(x) y forma y tamaño del soporte de definición de esa función. Se ha analizado la contribución individual de cada factor mediante su reducción a un único parámetro cuantificable, así como las interacciones entre ellos tanto en distribuciones regulares de nodos como en irregulares. El estudio se extiende a una serie de problemas estructurales uni y bidimensionales de referencia, y tiene en cuenta el error no sólo en el cálculo de autovalores (frecuencias propias o carga de pandeo, según el caso), sino también en términos de autovectores. This Doctoral Thesis deals with the application of meshless methods to eigenvalue problems, particularly free vibrations and buckling. The analysis is focused on aspects such as the numerical solving of the problem, computational cost and the feasibility of the use of non-consistent mass or geometric stiffness matrices. Furthermore, the analysis of the error is also considered, with the aim of identifying its main sources and obtaining the key factors that enable a faster convergence of a given problem. Although currently a wide variety of apparently independent meshless methods can be found in the literature, the relationships among them have been analyzed. The outcome of this assessment is that all those methods can be grouped in only a limited amount of categories, and that the Element-Free Galerkin Method (EFGM) is representative of the most important one. Therefore, the EFGM has been selected as a reference for the numerical analyses. Many of the error sources of a meshless method are contributed by its interpolation/approximation algorithm. In the EFGM, such algorithm is known as Moving Least Squares (MLS), a particular case of the Generalized Moving Least Squares (GMLS). The accuracy of the MLS is based on the following factors: order of the polynomial basis p(x), features of the weight function w(x), and shape and size of the support domain of this weight function. The individual contribution of each of these factors, along with the interactions among them, has been studied in both regular and irregular arrangement of nodes, by means of a reduction of each contribution to a one single quantifiable parameter. Contemporary Ethnographies is a call to use ethnography in imaginative ways, adjusting to rapidly evolving social circumstances. It is based on a reflexive and theoretically grounded exploration of the author’s two main research projects – the study of the spiritist possession cult of María Lionza in Venezuela, and the analysis of the contemporary exhumation of Civil War (1936–1939) mass graves in contemporary Spain. Ferrándiz critically reviews the labyrinthine and continuous transforming nature of ethnographic engagement. He defends both the need for methodological rigour and the astounding flexibility of ethnography to adjust in creative ways to shifting realities in a dynamic world – a world in which research scenarios multiply, social actors are on the move (physically or digitally), acts of violence proliferate, new technologies are transforming the experience and perception of human life, and the demand, production, circulation and consumption of knowledge is greatly diversified, overshadowing former well established and more hierarchical patterns of diffusion., The book is conceived of as a historically grounded open debate, providing as many certainties as moments of unpredictability and unresolved dilemmas. Actualmente las Instituciones de Enseñanza Superior (IES) analizan la inserción de sus egresados en el mercado laboral con la intención de mejorar sus procesos de enseñanza y formación. Objetivo: conocer el estado que guardan los egresados del Centro Universitario de la Costa con respecto a su situación laboral, satisfacción con la formación recibida, participación en capacitación continua y en posgrados, así como la satisfacción de los empleadores. Método: estudio cuantitativo, no experimental, descriptivo y de tipo de transversal. La población (128 egresados), la muestra es representativa y no proporcional, 96 egresados, se utilizó el instrumento Seguimiento de Egresados marco de referencia 2018 del CACEI en el contexto internacional. Resultados: 79,5% trabaja actualmente, 50,7% en el sector privado, 73,6% tiene un trabajo relacionado con su formación, la mayor inserción laboral es en el entrenamiento deportivo 26,9%, salario mensual percibido promedio $9,371.00. Conclusión: los resultados indican la necesidad de mejorar en relación a los indicadores de titulación, calidad en la formación, inserción laboral, actualización y posgrados, así como en fortalecer el trabajo colegiado de los egresados a fin de mejorar sus condiciones laborales.

For pharmaceutical solid products, the issue of reproducibly obtaining their desired end-use properties depending on crystal size and form is the main problem to be addressed and solved in process development. Lacking a reliable first-principles model of a crystallization process, a Bayesian optimization algorithm is proposed. On this basis, a short sequence of experimental runs for pinpointing operating conditions that maximize the probability of successfully complying with end-use product properties is defined. Bayesian optimization can take advantage of the full information provided by the sequence of experiments made using a probabilistic model of the probability of success based on a one-class classification method. The proposed algorithm’s performance is tested in silico using the crystallization and formulation of an API product where success is about fulfilling a dissolution profile as required by the FDA. Results obtained demonstrate that the sequence of generated experiments allows pinpointing operating conditions for reproducible quality.

[Resumen] En la actualidad, la robótica móvil está ganando mucha importancia en la industria, no solo dentro de las líneas de producción para la realización de ciertas tareas automatizadas, sino también dentro de la organización del material de los almacenes a través de los vehículos de guiado automático (AGV). Para la correcta actividad de estos dispositivos se necesita de un sistema embebido que controle todo el funcionamiento. Además, en muchas ocasiones, la necesidad de un tamaño reducido y un precio relativamente bajo para el usuario hace necesario abaratar costes en la producción. Por tanto, es necesario estudiar el rendimiento del sistema en el desarrollo de determinadas funciones de manera fluida. En este trabajo se presenta una herramienta de simulación de algoritmos de planificación de trayectorias típicamente utilizados en robótica móvil. Con la herramienta se pueden simular distintos escenarios, así como modificar los diferentes parámetros de cada uno de los algoritmos implementados. Se describe un conjunto de ejemplos ilustrativos en los que se comparan diferentes algoritmos, mostrando de este modo las capacidades de la herramienta. [Abstract] Nowadays, mobile robotics is gaining importance in industry, not only within production lines for the performance of certain automated tasks, but also within the organization of material in warehouses through automated guided vehicles (AGVs). For the correct activity of these devices, an embedded system is needed to control the entire operation of the system. On many occasions, the need for reduced size and a relatively low price for the user makes it necessary to reduce costs in production. Therefore, it is required to study the performance of the system in the development of certain functions so that they are carried out fluidly. This work presents a simulation tool for path planning algorithms typically used in mobile robotics. The tool allows simulating different scenarios, as well as modifying the different parameters of each of the implemented algorithms. A set of basic illustrative examples are described and used to compare the performance of path planning algorithms and to show the capabilities of the presented tool.

[EN] From the beginning of the xxi century, research on organizational legitimacy has been frequently used to explain the survival of new companies. The need of being considered legitimated for new companies to improve their access to necessary resources to survive has called the researchers attention. This situation has favored the increase in the research about organizational legitimacy in the entrepreneurship field, which has augmented the complexity of obtaining a global understanding of the field´s current context. The aim of this research is to identify and visualize the intellectual structure of the research and the emerging trends regarding organizational legitimacy in the entrepreneurship field. The database is made up of the sources of knowledge and references on which the scientific articles published in the data base of the Web of Science (WOS) were based. Through a bibliometric methodology based on co-citation, we identify the main research areas, the most active ones, the main contributors, dissemination paths and emerging trends in the research field. This research paper contributes to the development of organizational legitimacy in the entrepreneurship field offering a comprehensive view of the situation of this domain, a starting point as well as a theoretical base for the researchers to build new developments. Esta situación ha favorecido el aumento de la investigación sobre la legitimidad organizacional en el campo del emprendimiento, lo que ha aumentado la complejidad de obtener una comprensión global de la situación actual en el campo. El objetivo de esta investigación es identificar y visualizar la estructura intelectual de la investigación y las tendencias emergentes en el campo de la legitimidad organizacional en el emprendimiento. La base de datos está formada por las fuentes de conocimiento o referencias en que se basan los artículos científicos publicados en la base de datos de Web of Science (WOS). Mediante una metodología bibliométrica basada en co-citas, identificamos las principales áreas de investigación, las más activas, los principales contribuyentes, las vías de difusión y las tendencias emergentes en el campo de la investigación. Este trabajo de investigación contribuye al desarrollo del campo de la legitimidad organizacional en el emprendimiento ofreciendo una visión integral de la situación de este dominio, tanto un punto de partida como una base teórica para que los investigadores construyan nuevos desarrollos.

[EN] The classification problem for simple sl(2)-modules leads in a natural way to the study of the category of finite rank torsion free sl(2)-modules and its subcategory of rational sl(2)-modules. We prove that the rationalization functor induces an identification between theisomorphism classes of simple modules of these categories. This raises the question of what is the precise relationship between other invariants associated with them. La interpretación clínica de un aislamiento de Candida spp. en orina puede resultar confusa, lo que podría generar un uso inapropiado de antifúngicos. Metodología: Estudio observacional descriptivo de los episodios de candiduria (julio 2021-2022) en el Hospital JM Morales Meseguer. Los pacientes se clasificaron en asintomáticos y sintomáticos basándose en criterios establecidos, comparándose la adherencia en el manejo de la candiduria con las recomendaciones de las guías IDSA. Resultados: Se detectaron 135 episodios de candiduria, 28 en pacientes comunitarios y 107 en pacientes hospitalarios. La media de edad fue de 68.6 años, siendo el 59.3% varones. El 93.3% de los pacientes presentaron factores de riesgo, siendo los más frecuentes la antibioterapia (77.8%), la hospitalización previa (75.5%) y el sondaje vesical (59.5%). C. albicans representó el 60% (80) del total de los aislamientos. El 88% de los pacientes no presentaron síntomas de infección del tracto urinario. Un 25% (34) de los pacientes recibió tratamiento antifúngico, observando un elevado porcentaje (49%) de casos, en los que no se manejó la candiduria de acuerdo con las recomendaciones dadas por la guía IDSA (P = 0.001). El tratamiento de la candiduria se relacionó con aquellos pacientes inmunodeprimidos (P < 0.001), con piuria (P < 0.001), candiduria verificada mediante un segundo urocultivo (P < 0.001) y aquellos hospitalizados en los últimos tres meses (P < 0.001). Conclusiones: La candiduria debería ser incluida en los sistemas PROA, ya que se asocia con un elevado porcentaje de tratamientos inadecuados. Introduction: The clinical interpretation of a Candida spp. isolation in urine can be confusing, which could lead to inappropriate use of antifungals. Methodology: Descriptive observational study of candiduria episodes (July 2021-2022) at the JM Morales Meseguer Hospital. Patients were classified into asymptomatic and symptomatic based on established criteria, comparing adherence in the management of candiduria with the recommendations of the IDSA guidelines. Results: 135 episodes of candiduria were detected, 28 in community patients and 107 in hospital patients. The mean age was 68.6 years, with 59.3% being male. Risk factors were present in 93.3% of patients, the most frequent being antibiotherapy (77.8%), previous hospitalization (75.5%) and bladder catheterization (59.5%). Conclusions: Candiduria should be included in PROA systems, as it is associated with a high percentage of inadequate treatment.

The intelligent robotics community usually organizes knowledge into symbolic and sub-symbolic levels. These two levels establish the set of symbols and rules for manipulating knowledge based on their (symbol system - dictionary). Thus, the correspondences -- Grounding or knowledge representation -- require specific software techniques for anchoring continuous and discrete state variables between these two levels. This paper presents the design and evaluation of an Open Source tool called KANT(Knowledge mAnagemeNT) to let different components of the system architecture controlling the robot query, save, edit, and delete the data from the Knowledge Base without having to worry about the type and the implementation of the source data. Using KANT, components managing subsymbolic information can smoothly interact with symbolic components. Besides, implementation mechanisms used in KANT, such as the use of in-memory and non-SQL databases, improve the performance of the knowledge management systems in ROS middleware, as shown by the evaluations presented in this work.

El motivo de este trabajo es la realización de un análisis en profundidad del cálculo del rendimiento de plantas fotovoltaicas. Para ello, está generalmente extendido el uso del índice de rendimiento o Performance Ratio, definido a partir de una fórmula general enunciada en la IEC 61724 de las normas UNE-EN. Sin embargo, existen numerosos estudios en los que se ha tratado de calcular el índice de rendimiento de plantas fotovoltaicas a partir de otras fórmulas, bien modificando levemente la fórmula anteriormente mencionada, o bien definiendo parámetros similares que también reflejan el rendimiento de la planta de una manera o de otra. La finalidad de este trabajo es, principalmente, analizar si los estudios recientes han dado con una fórmula que sea similar o incluso mejor que la que se emplea de manera general según la IEC 61724, de manera que sirva para una rápida identificación de caídas de rendimiento en la planta por parte de los técnicos encargados de su mantenimiento. The purpose of this work is to carry out an in-depth analysis of the calculation of the performance of photovoltaic plants. For this purpose, the Performance Ratio, defined on the basis of a general formula set out in IEC 61724 of the UNE-EN standards, is generally used. This two-volume set highlights the importance of Iberian shipbuilding in the centuries of the so-called first globalization (15th to 18th), in confluence with an unprecedented extension of ocean navigation and seafaring and a greater demand for natural resources (especially timber), mostly oak (Quercus spp.) and Pine (Pinus spp.). The chapters are framed in a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary line of research that integrates history, Geographic Information Sciences, underwater archaeology, dendrochronology and wood provenance techniques. This line of research was developed during the ForSEAdiscovery project, which had a great impact in the academic and scientific world and brought together experts from Europe and America. The volumes deliver a state-of-the-art review of the latest lines of research related to Iberian maritime history and archaeology and their developing interdisciplinary interaction with dendroarchaeology. This synthesis combines an analysis of historical sources, the systematic study of wreck-remains and material culture related to Iberian seafaring from the 15th to the 18th centuries, and the application of earth sciences, including dendrochronology. Introducción. Las instituciones de educación superior están constantemente enfrentándose a los desafíos de mejorar su productividad, competitividad, función social, así como la calidad de la educación y formación ofrecida al estudiantado. Dos respuestas para mejorar la calidad de la educación y la formación impartida al estudiantado, así como su función social, son el aprendizaje-servicio y la mentoría. El fundamento de ambas intervenciones de enseñanza recae en el hecho de que permiten una mayor conexión eficiente entre el currículo, las necesidades sociales y el mundo profesional. Objetivo. El objetivo de esta investigación fue explorar la eficacia del Programa Huelva Educa (PHE) para mejorar el grado de compromiso académico en el alumnado participante en calidad de personas mentoras. Metodología. La muestra estuvo compuesta por 54 estudiantes de la Universidad de Huelva seleccionados mediante un muestreo no probabilístico de conveniencia. Se adoptó un diseño cuasiexperimental pretest-postest de estudiantado universitario, donde la variable dependiente se midió mediante el “Cuestionario sobre compromiso académico del alumnado universitario” y del cuaderno de trabajo de las personas mentoras PHE. Resultados. Los resultados registrados muestran que el alumnado mejora significativamente comportamientos relacionados con la implicación en clase, análisis reflexivo de experiencias e ideas, razonamiento crítico, realizar tareas en un idioma extranjero, entre otras. Conclusiones. Este trabajo aporta evidencias sobre la eficacia del programa para la mejora de la preparación de sus asignaturas, aumento del logro académico o incremento en su aprendizaje activo y colaborativo, por lo que se recomienda la importancia de adoptar este tipo de programa. This investigation aimed to explore the effectiveness of the Huelva Educa Program (HEP) to improve the level of academic commitment of participating students as mentors. Method. The sample comprised 54 students from the University of Huelva, selected through a sampling nonprobability convenience. A quasi-experimental pretest-postest design involving undergraduate students was adopted, where the dependent variable was measured by the Questionnaire on the academic commitment of the university students and the HEP mentors’ workbook. Results. Selfreported results show that students have significantly increased behaviors related to participation in class, analyses of experiences and ideas, reflective analyses of experiences and ideas, critical reasoning, and tasks in a foreign language, among others. Conclusions. This work provides evidence on the program’s effectiveness for improving the preparation of their subjects, increasing academic achievement, or increasing their active and collaborative learning, recommending the importance of adopting this type of program. As instituições de ensino superior enfrentam constantemente os desafios de melhorar sua produtividade, competitividade, função social, bem como a qualidade da educação e da formação oferecida aos alunos. Duas respostas para melhorar a qualidade da educação e da formação dada aos alunos, bem como sua função social, são Aprendizagem-Serviço e Mentoring. A base de ambas as intervenções pedagógicas reside no fato de que elas permitem uma maior conexão eficiente entre o currículo, as necessidades sociais e o mundo profissional. Objetivo. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi explorar a eficácia do Programa Huelva Educa (PHE) para melhorar o grau de engajamento acadêmico dos alunos participantes como mentores. Metodologia. A amostra foi composta por 54 alunos da Universidade de Huelva selecionados por amostragem não probabilística de conveniência. Foi adotado um projeto quase-experimental pré-teste e pós-teste de estudantes universitários, onde a variável dependente foi medida pelo Questionário de Engajamento Acadêmico dos Estudantes Universitários e a Carteira de Trabalho dos Mentores PHE. Resultados. Os resultados registrados mostram que os alunos melhoram significativamente os comportamentos relacionados ao envolvimento em sala de aula, análise pensada de experiências e ideias, raciocínio crítico, realização de tarefas em língua estrangeira, entre outros. Conclusão. Este trabalho fornece provas sobre a eficácia do programa para melhorar a preparação das suas disciplinas, aumentar a realização acadêmica ou aumentar a sua aprendizagem ativa e colaborativa, recomendando a importância da adoção deste tipo de programa.

Heart disease is a major contributor to mortality and disability on a global scale. Hence, there is a need for research to improve non-invasive diagnostic techniques. Diseases in dogs with characteristics very similar to those of human pathologies hold promise as a source of data for evaluating and developing echocardiographic techniques and devices. Methods: We conducted a structured literature search from June 2022 to January 2023 to evaluate the relevance of dogs as a translational model for echocardiographic clinical research. We searched various academic databases, including PubMed Central (PMC), Core, DIGITAL.CSIC, DOAB, DOAJ, EBSCO host, Elsevier B.V, Redib, Scopus, and Web of Science, available through the Academic Information System of the Autonomous University of Baja California. Results: Out of the 243 articles initially screened, we identified 119 relevant articles that met our inclusion criteria for further analysis. This review is an introduction to the canine model by analyzing the cardiovascular anatomical similarities between the two species, the pathophysiological overlaps in some diseases, the parallels in echocardiographic techniques in dogs compared to humans, and the suitability of dogs with a naturally occurring cardiac disease as a model for translational clinical research compared to other animal species. Conclusions: This review emphasizes the importance of canine patients as an ideal cardiac disease symmetrical clinical model since they share common heart diseases with humans. Furthermore, dogs have a shorter lifespan, leading to the relatively rapid evolution of these diseases, which makes studying these pathologies and developing echocardiographic techniques more feasible. The results strongly indicate the need for interdisciplinary collaboration and translational medical research to create innovative echocardiographic technologies and improve the connection between veterinary and human cardiac imaging research.

This paper examines the thirty silver pieces made by the craftsman from Cordoba Antonio José de Santa Cruz y Zaldúa during the second half of the 18th century, which have gone through the Spanish antiques trade in the last fortnight. On display are two chalices and several works for domestic use, such as jugs, washbasins, soap dishes, plates, salvers, inkstand, candlesticks and, above all, trays, in which the evolution of the different Cordoban models of that period can be seen.

A composite material was prepared using chitosan and chabazite for the removal of Eriochrome T black dye from water. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analyses showed chabazite particles embedded in the chitosan matrix. Thermogravimetric analyses indicated that chitosan degrades chemically at temperatures above 225 °C; chabazite only experiences weight decrease due to moisture loss. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analyses on chitosan detected the presence of O-H, N-H, C-H, C-N and C-O bonds, protonated amino groups and saccharides. In chabazite, H2O molecules, T-O and O-T-O groups, where “T” corresponds to Si or Al atoms, isolated H-bonded O-H groups, and Si-O-Si groups were detected. In kinetic experiments, an 86 % decrease of the dye concentration in solution was achieved in approximately 500 minutes. The linearization method was used to evaluate the fit of the experimental data with the pseudo-first-order, pseudo-second order, Elovich and intra-particle diffusion adsorption kinetic models. The kinetic experiments showed that the sorption mechanism corresponds to a pseudo-second order model.

El presente texto es una adaptación del informe elaborado tras una petición que el Instituto de la Memoria, la Convivencia y los Derechos Humanos (Gogora) hizo a los autores en respuesta en una solicitud del Parlamento Vasco para la identificación de las necesidades de las políticas públicas de Memoria Histórica o Democrática relativas a la Guerra Civil y la dictadura en la Comunidad Autónoma de Euskadi., Para la realización del informe se revisaron todas las iniciativas legislativas (aprobadas o en trámite) que se consideraron relevantes con el objetivo de establecer un estado de la cuestión bien informado. También se llevaron a cabo reuniones con representantes de los partidos políticos con presencia en el Parlamento Vasco, así como con representantes institucionales, organizaciones históricas y de numerosas asociaciones y plataformas memoriales, en las que se abrieron cauces de diálogo y se recabaron los diferentes puntos de vista que se dan en el mundo memorial., El informe presenta un balance histórico de las políticas de memoria llevadas a cabo en Euskadi y su anclaje institucional, y establece una comparativa detallada con otros desarrollos legislativos tanto en el Estado español como en otras Comunidades Autónomas en las que se están desarrollando políticas de memoria., Las iniciativas de Memoria Histórica en Euskadi han tenido una continuidad que no se ha dado en otros lugares del Estado. Sin embargo, durante más de una década se caracterizaron por una cierta fragmentación y falta de integración. La Ley 4/2014 de creación del Instituto de la Memoria, la Convivencia y los Derechos Humanos reflejaba la conciencia institucional de dicha carencia y puso en marcha una herramienta institucional con potencial para llevar a cabo dicha unificación de las políticas públicas de memoria., En el texto se valora el recorrido histórico de las políticas públicas de Memoria Histórica en Euskadi y se analizan las fortalezas y limitaciones de Gogora, con la finalidad de desarrollar una Ley Integral de Memoria que agrupe y coordine las competencias ya existentes y cubra los vacíos detectados.

This paper directly results from the H2020 project Unsettling Remembering and Social Cohesion in Transnational Europe (UNREST), which deals with the cultural legacies of war in Europe. We highlight the most important findings on the back of our comparative study of mass grave exhumations in Spain, Poland and Bosnia, relating to respectively the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939), the Second World War and its aftermath (1940-1956) and the Yugoslav Wars of Dissolution in the 1990s.

En la última década se ha incrementado la investigación sobre los formadores de profesores (FP) de Educación Física (EF). En México, sin embargo, esta producción es escasa y muchas preguntas relevantes siguen sin respuesta. Es necesario desarrollar una comprensión más completa de este grupo profesional, ya que es parte integral para la profesión de la EF. El presente estudio se desarrolló usando la teoría de la socialización ocupacional. El objetivo fue describir e interpretar las percepciones sobre el concepto de buen FP de EF que poseen profesores universitarios (quienes son también formadores de profesores) de universidades públicas en México. Participaron 202 FP, a quienes se les pidió específicamente responder la siguiente cuestión: describa lo que es para usted un buen profesor de Educación Superior, formador de profesores. Para el tratamiento de la información, en primera instancia se utilizó el análisis de contenido; posteriormente, se usó la estadística descriptiva, concretamente, las frecuencias y los porcentajes. Los resultados revelan que, para los FP, un buen formador se caracteriza principalmente por sus rasgos de personalidad, seguido de las competencias científicas y pedagógicas.seguido de las competencias científicas y pedagógicas.

Despite the clinical benefit of trastuzumab, eventually all HER2-amplified gastric cancer tumors develop drug resistance. We aimed to identify molecular mechanisms of acquired resistance to trastuzumab in gastric cancer by using well-established cell line–based preclinical models, as well as samples from patients with HER2-positive gastric cancer treated with trastuzumab. We studied trastuzumab resistance in NCI-N87 and OE19, two gastric cancer cell lines that overexpress HER2 receptor and are trastuzumab sensitive. Differences at protein, DNA, and RNA levels between the parental and resistant cells were characterized and functional studies were performed. Paired pre- and post-trastuzumab blood and tissue samples from patients with gastric cancer treated with trastuzumab were analyzed. We found that resistant cells were associated with increased activation of MAPK/ERK and PI3K/mTOR pathways driven by SRC activation. Upstream, resistant cells showed increased coexpression of multiple HER-family ligands that allowed for compensatory activation of alternative HER receptors upon HER2 blockade. Simultaneous inhibition of EGFR, HER2, and HER3 by the novel antibody mixture, Pan-HER, effectively reverted trastuzumab resistance in vitro and in vivo. Similarly, an increase in HER-family ligands was observed in serum and tumor from patients with gastric cancer after trastuzumab therapy. We propose that trastuzumab resistance in gastric cancer is mediated by HER-family ligand upregulation that allows a compensatory activation of HER receptors and maintains downstream signaling activation despite trastuzumab therapy. Resistance is reverted by simultaneous inhibition of EGFR, HER2, and HER3, thereby revealing a potential therapeutic strategy to overcome trastuzumab resistance in patients with gastric cancer.

To evaluate the impact of obesity on surgical outcomes for women with endometrial cancer (EC) managed by laparoscopic surgery. Minimal invasive surgery has been incorporated in the surgical management of EC, improving perioperative outcomes. However, this approach may become more challenging in case of obesity. So it is important to accurately evaluate and establish the most appropriate surgical approach for these patients. From January 2008 through April 2016, we conducted a prospective observational study, including all consecutive patients with a histological diagnosis of EC undergoing surgical staging by laparoscopy at our institution. Patients were classified in two groups (obese vs non-obese) according to their body mass index. Information about short- and long-term outcomes were recorded and analyzed during an outpatient follow-up. Between January 2008 and April 2016, 83 women underwent laparoscopic surgery for EC at our institution. Forty-six (56.6%) of them were classified as obese. Surgical outcomes were similar in both groups. No significant difference was reported in surgical time, number of lymph nodes removed, blood loss, length of hospital stay, and incidence of intra- or postoperative complications. Also, long-term outcomes did not show any statistical significant difference: recurrence rate was 6.4% (3/47) among obese patients and 13.9% (5/36) among non-obese (p = 0.251). No difference was reported even in time to recurrence (log-rank p = 0.280) and in survival time (log-tank p = 0.132) between the two groups. Our results show that obesity did not impair the outcomes of laparoscopic surgery for EC. This surgical approach may be offered to obese patients with the same level of safety, radicality, and efficiency as for the normal-weight population.

La actual configuración de la ciudad, de la vivienda y la forma en que se conciben los imaginarios, condicionan el cumplimento de las necesidades esenciales del hombre, debido a la ideología mercantilista predominante, que subyuga al hombre a escenarios semejantes a los mencionados en el mito del lecho de Procusto, para imponer en aras una uniformidad de espacios insalubres. El método a seguir en este capítulo es conceptual analítico deductivo y descriptivo, analizando información sobre el fenómeno vivienda, imaginarios y ciudad. Es, además un trabajo de carácter interdisciplinario. El enfoque descriptivo permitirá vincular las necesidades del hombre, partiendo de la teoría de Maslow con una implicación directa o indirecta en el bienestar del hombre, además, para agregar un hilo conductor a este artículo se tomarán recursos del método narrativo para la investigación. El objetivo de este escrito es hacer un análisis entre las necesidades del hombre, y la configuración contemporánea de las ciudades, las viviendas, y en su carácter dentro de los imaginarios, con el fin de analizar las posibles vinculaciones con el bienestar.

Las enfermedades inflamatorias crónicas intestinales (EICI) comprenden la Colitis Ulcerosa (CU) y la Enfermedad de Crohn (EV). Disponemos de una amplia gama de fármacos que facilitan el control de la actividad de la EII y que modulan la respuesta inmune. El SARS-CoV-2 es un betacoronavirus que produce un síndrome respiratorio agudo grave (SARS), causante de la mayoría de muertes acontecidas durante la actual pandemia. Hasta un 10-15% de pacientes tienen diarrea, dolor abdominal y náuseas como manifestación clínica del COVID-19. La prevalencia de infección por SARS-CoV-2 en los pacientes con EII es similar a la de la población general con un curso evolutivo menos agresivo incluso en el subgrupo de pacientes con tratamiento inmunomodulador. En este caso la revisión de diferentes publicaciones producidas durante el año 2020 y primer trimestre del 2021 permitirá verificar esta hipótesis. SARS-CoV-2 is a betacoronavirus that cause severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), cause of the majority of the deaths during the current pandemic. Up to 10-15% of patients with COVID-19 have diarrhea, abdominal pain and nauseas as clinical manifestations. The prevalence of SARS CoV-2 infection in patients with IBD is similar to the general population, with a less aggressive evolutionary course even in the subgroup of patients with immunomodulatory treatment.
