Malignant nodular hidradenoma (MNH) is an infrequent, highly malignant tumor derived from eccrine sweat glands. MNH usually occurs on the scalp, trunk, and proximal extremities, and rarely on the hand. A 55-year-old male patient visited clinics with a gradually enlarging painless mass at fingertip. It begins a year ago. Recently, it has grown rapidly and starts ulceration, and bleeding over the past 3 weeks. According to the biopsy report, it has focal necrosis, atypia, atypical mitoses, and nuclear pleomorphism suggested that the mass was MNH. After histological diagnosis, tiny bone erosion was observed in the re-read radiographic finding. For the oncologic evaluation, the patient was transferred to the cancer center. Radical amputation was performed to the residual tumor that might remain based on re-reading of radiographs. MNH of the finger is especially difficult to the diagnosis given its rarity and variable histology. When ulcerative skin lesion and radiographic bone erosion are observed, one should suspect malignancy and makes out a proper therapeutic plan after histologic biopsy.

The tumor is similar to its benign counterpart but had additional features such as surface ulceration, numerous mitotic figures and infiltrative growth pattern. Pre-operative diagnosis is difficult by the fine needle aspiration cytology. Malignant nodular hidradenoma of chest wall in 35 years old women, who presented to us with a recurrent rapidly growing swelling over chest wall that grew rapidly over two months after first excision. Background The slide-swing skin flap is a combination of transposition and adjacent skin sliding and can be used to close large, round defects with a flap that is smaller than the primary defect to produce aesthetically good results. Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of the slide-swing skin flap for various surgical defects caused by skin tumor excisions. Methods This retrospective case series, which includes 33 Asian patients between the ages of 25 and 86 years, describes the slide-swing skin flap after primary excision for malignant or premalignant skin conditions. The outcomes were assessed 12 weeks after surgery using the patient and observer scar assessment scale (POSAS). Results Patients were 25 male and 8 female, and the causes of surgery were various malignant skin tumors including malignant melanoma, dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans, and malignant nodular hidradenoma. Tumors were on the lower limb in eleven patients, back in nine patients, chest in five patients, face in three patients, buttock in three patients and two patients had tumors in other locations. The mean defect size was 3.5×3.1±1.9×2.2 cm (range, 1.4×0.9~9.0×12.0 cm). The mean patient POSAS total score was 9.7±3.0 and mean patient overall opinion score was 1.8±0.7. The mean observer POSAS total score was 11.0±2.7 and mean observer overall opinion score was 1.9±0.5. All flaps survived and postoperative recoveries were uneventful. Conclusion The slide-swing skin flap is highly versatile and can be used to cover various surgical defects, irrespective of size and location, with excellent functional and cosmetic results.

Malignant nodular hidradenoma (MNH) is a rare invasive tumour arising from eccrine sweat glands, with significant risk for local recurrence and distant metastases. Hidradenoma papilliferum is reported in pregnancy. To our knowledge this is the first MNH in a human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infected pregnant woman. The patient presented with a painless perianal growth. Wide local excision was performed and the wound left to heal by secondary intension. The pathology report confirmed MNH. The patient has been followed for 14 months without evidence of recurrence. MNH should be considered in the differential diagnosis of similar lesions in HIV infected patients. Treatment for such HIV infected patients with MNH may be similar to that in immune competent patients; they may benefit from a longer follow-up period.Keywords: Malignant Nodular Hidradenoma, HIV infection, Pregnancy

Malignant nodular hidradenoma (MNH) is a rare tumor of sweat gland known by many names in the literature. Scalp is a known and yet uncommon site of occurrence. We describe two patients with scalp MNH with brain parenchymal invasion. Both tumors recurred in spite of total excision and radiotherapy.

Malignant Nodular Hidradenoma otherwise designated as Hidradenocarcinoma is a malignant sweat gland tumor which mandates attention due to its rarity and its increased potential for local destruction and metastasis. Though it was first reported in 1954, only 70 cases have been documented till date as per review of literature. The tumor possesses distinctive histological and immunohistochemical features with definitive criteria designed for detection of malignancy. This case report describes the occurrence of malignant nodular hidradenoma in a 40 year old male on the dorsum of the left foot.

Background: Malignant nodular hidradenoma (MNH) is a malignant tumor of the eccrine glands, and most commonly involves the head, trunk, and extremities. To the best of our knowledge, MNH of the scrotum has not yet been described in the English literature. Despite the use of surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and hormonal therapy, optimal treatment of MNH is unclear. Case Report: We describe the case of a 30-year-old African American man who was diagnosed with locally advanced MNH of the scrotum and treated with surgery. More than 2 years after surgery, the patient is without evidence of disease. Conclusions: This is the first case report of MNH of the scrotum. Surgery alone may be sufficient for the treatment of localized or locally advanced MNH.

Background: Sweat gland neoplasms are rare neoplasms with less known dermoscopic features. Observations: By applying dermoscopy, we identified some common vascular features that have been defined for amelanotic melanoma such as hairpin vessels, dotted vessels, linear irregular vessels, glomerular vessels, and milky-red areas. Conclusion: Polymorphic vascular structures can also be seen in eccrine neoplasms. Further evaluations should be done to differentiate and identify the common dermoscopic features of other sweat gland tumors.

An 8-year-old girl presented with a scalp swelling. The swelling was recurrent, reappearing everytime after local excision. She underwent surgery and the histopathologic diagnosis was malignant hidradenoma. This very rare and aggressive tumor is known to occur in elderly population and is histopathologically distinct from its commonly occuring benign counterpart. Malignant hidradenoma is resistant to chemotherapy and radiotherapy. We empahsize that being cognizant of the possibility of this rare tumor would assist in timely action in the form of wide resection, with possible reduction in morbidity and mortality.

Malignant tumours originating from the sweat glands are very rare. We report a case of a female with malignant nodular hidradenoma of the externa nasal pyramid. A brief review of literature including the histopathological aspects and management is presented herewith.

A 54-year-old male farmer was seen in May 1990 with a violaceous, exulcerated tumor, 2x1.5 cm in diameter, localized to the sternal area of the chest. The tumor had been present for 30 years, showing slow progressive growth; it was excised, but recurred 2 years before our initial evaluation. The tumor was again excised with a wide free margin. The histopathologic study showed an ill-defined, epithelial neoformation, formed by lobules of clear polygonal cells at the deep dermis and subcutaneous tissue; there was a second group of smaller cells with a basaloid aspect, a few of them presenting slight atypia. The tumoral lobules were surrounded by a myxoid material with vascular proliferation. The epidermis was normal. The histopathologic report was of a malignant nodular hidradenoma. No evidence of lymph node or distant metastases was found. One year after the excision, the tumor recurred at the surgical site, and an axillary lymph node showed metastatic cells. The lesion was excised for a third time and the patient was lost to follow-up.

We report a case of malignant nodular hidradenoma in a middle-aged man, who presented with a nodular swelling in the eyelid. The tumor was similar to its benign counterpart but had additional features such as surface ulceration, numerous mitiotic figures, and an infiltrative growth pattern. Malignant forms of hidradenomas are unusual and the possibility this variant should be considered in the differential diagnosis of eyelid tumors.

Malignant nodular hidradenoma is a rare skin appendageal tumor, and its imaging findings have not been previously described. We experienced the case of a large malignant nodular hidradenoma of the left upper arm in a 71-year-old woman. MRI revealed a large, lobular, poorly circumscribed, soft tissue mass at the left upper arm, and the mass showed homogeneous enhancement. 18F-FDG PET/CT showed hypermetabolic activity in the left upper arm mass with a maximal standard uptake value of 19.
