As a new multi-sensor satellite, GaoFen-5 (GF-5) has gradually attracted more attention. Especially, the GF-5 hyperspectral sensor has shown good prospects in geological applications, such as mineral mapping, geological body identification, and mining environment analysis. Therefore, there is an urgent need to evaluate the effectiveness of GF-5 hyperspectral data relative to airborne hyperspectral images (HSI) in geological applications. In this paper, the characteristics and preprocessing steps of GF-5 HSI were introduced. The HyMap data in the Subei area was employed for comparative experiments to evaluate the application performance of GF-5 in gossan identification. The experimental results show that the diagnostic spectral characteristics of limonite can be observed through GF-5 data. The distribution trends of limonite in both hyperspectral data are consistent, and the concentration of the limonite area directly indicated the gossan information, indicating that GF-5 HSI has promising potential for mineral mapping and may have important significance in large-scale geological applications.

Recent developments in hyperspectral remote sensing have heightened the need for large-scale quantitative applications. As an important part of preprocessing, radiation correction and optimization are of great significance for subsequent quantitative analysis. The radiometry of hyperspectral images is influenced by many factors. For airborne hyperspectral data, the Bidirectional Reflectance Distribution Function (BRDF) has the greatest effect on radiation. This effect, which mainly depends on the sun-view geometry, will lead to an across-track illumination gradient in the image and seriously affect the radiometric consistencies of the regional image mosaics. This contribution describes an improved empirical method for radiometric optimization of multi-strip airborne hyperspectral images. Also, a cubic fitting equation and a statistical matching algorithm are used to generate the seamless image mosaics and remove the radiation inconsistency caused by the viewing and incident angle. As a case, The airborne hyperspectral images from the Lop Nor area of Xinjiang Province were processed and used for geological mapping. Results suggest that the method we proposed can effectively improve the efficiency and accuracy of regional geological mapping through radiometric optimization.

In situ consolidation is the most common treatment to conserve cultural relics, but materials for preserving fragile organic cultural relics in humid archaeological excavation sites are scarce. To solve the problem, a moisture-curable polyurethane (MCPU) prepolymer was synthesized by reacting isophorone diisocyanate with polyethylene glycol 600. The standard acetone–dibutylamine method, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, gel chromatography and thermogravimetric analysis were utilized to determine the change in isocyanate groups before and after the reaction, the prepolymer molecular weight, the thermal decomposition kinetic parameters and the MCPU film lifetime. The results showed that the number-average molecular weight of the prepolymer was 749, and the weight average molecular weight was 1684. Isophorone groups in the prepolymer react with moisture in the air to form colorless, transparent, flexible films. The thermal decomposition of the MCPU films was a first-order reaction, and the decomposition process consisted of two stages. The Dakin equation was used to obtain the thermal aging equation lg t = 4600.82/T − 8.07, meaning that at 15 °C, the sample has an approximately 150-year lifetime. A new conservation material was developed, and its thermal decomposition kinetics were studied, which are significant for the conservation of fragile organic cultural relics in humid environments.

Two independent field trials were performed in Guizhou and Hunan, China in 2013 to investigate the dissipation and residue levels of saisentong in tobacco and soil. A novel and accurate method using high-performance liquid chromatography with diode array detection was developed and validated to determine saisentong levels in tobacco and soil. The average recovery of saisentong at fortification levels of 0.5, 2.5, 5.0 and 50.0 mg kg−1 in fresh tobacco ranged from 75.92 to 107.40% with a relative standard deviation (RSD) of 0.94 to 7.55%, that at fortification levels of 0.5, 2.0 and 5.0 mg kg−1 in tobacco powder ranged from 74.96 to 94.43% with a relative standard deviation (RSD) of 4.38 to 8.14%, and that at fortification levels of 0.1, 0.5 and 5.0 mg kg−1 in soil ranged from 86.90 to 100.0% with an RSD of 1.38 to 4.62%. Pancreatic cancer patients are often resistant to chemotherapy treatment, which results in poor prognosis. The objective of this study was to delineate the mechanism by which miR‐21 induces drug resistance to 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU) in human pancreatic cancer cells (PATU8988 and PANC‐1). We report that PATU8988 cells resistant to 5‐FU express high levels of miR‐21 in comparison to sensitive primary PATU8988 cells. Suppression of miR‐21 expression in 5‐Fu‐resistant PATU8988 cells can alleviate its 5‐FU resistance. Meanwhile, lentiviral vector‐mediated overexpression of miR‐21 not only conferred resistance to 5‐FU but also promoted proliferation, migration, and invasion of PATU8988 and PANC‐1 cells. The proresistance effects of miR‐21 were attributed to the attenuated expression of tumor suppressor genes, including PTEN and PDCD4. Overexpression of PTEN and PDCD4 antagonized miR‐21‐induced resistance to 5‐FU and migration activity. Our work demonstrates that miR‐21 can confer drug resistance to 5‐FU in pancreatic cancer cells by regulating the expression of tumor suppressor genes, as the target genes of miR‐21, PTEN and PDCD4 can rescue 5‐FU sensitivity and the phenotypic characteristics disrupted by miR‐21.

Fructus Ligustri Lucidi is a well-known invigorator in Chinese materia medica with hepatoprotective effect, anticancer activity, antioxidant activity, and so on. And oleanolic acids are the major pharmacologically active components in Fructus Ligustri Lucidi. So it has great value in medical health, and may be developed to a complementary and alternative medicine through further research. In this paper, the advances in research on pharmacological effects of Fructus Ligustri Lucidi were summarized by reviewing the recent related literature.
