In order to implement moral education, ideological and political work must be carried out throughout the whole process of education and teaching. Taking the course “Measurement and Pricing of Installation Works” as the subject and professional knowledge and skills as the carrier, we explored the elements of ideological and political education contained in this course as well as the value of ideological and political education to this course, in order to realize the teaching goal of “trinity,” which includes value shaping, knowledge transfer, and skill cultivation.

Luminescent cuprous complexes are an important class of coordination compounds due to their relative abundance, low cost and ability to display excellent luminescence. The title heteroleptic cuprous complex, [2,2′-bis(diphenylphosphanyl)-1,1′-binaphthyl-κ2 P,P′](2-phenylpyridine-κN)copper(I) hexafluoridophosphate, rac-[Cu(C44H32P2)(C11H9N)]PF6, conventionally abbreviated rac-[Cu(BINAP)(2-PhPy)]PF6 (I), where BINAP and 2-PhPy represent 2,2′-bis(diphenylphosphanyl)-1,1′-binaphthyl and 2-phenylpyridine, respectively, is described. In this complex, the asymmetric unit consists of a hexafluoridophosphate anion and a heteroleptic cuprous complex cation, in which the cuprous centre in a CuP2N coordination triangle is coordinated by two P atoms from the BINAP ligand and by one N atom from the 2-PhPy ligand. Time-dependent density functional theory (TD–DFT) calculations show that the UV–Vis absorption of I should be attributed to ligand-to-ligand charge transfer (LLCT) characteristic excited states. It was also found that the paper-based film of this complex exhibited obvious luminescence light-up sensing for pyridine.

Background. 5-methylcytosine (m5C) is a major site of RNA methylation modification, and its abnormal modification is associated with the development of gastric cancer (GC). This study aimed to explore the value of m5C-related genes on the prognosis of GC patients through bioinformatics. Methods. First, m5C-related genes were obtained by nonnegative matrix factorization (NMF) analysis and differentially expressed analysis. The m5C-related model was established and validated in distinct datasets. Moreover, a differential analysis of risk scores according to clinical characteristics was performed. The enrichment analysis was carried out to elucidate the underlying molecular mechanisms. Furthermore, we calculated the differences in immunotherapy and chemotherapy sensitivity between the high- and low-risk groups. Finally, we validated the expression levels of identified model genes by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). Results. A total of five m5C-related subtypes of GC patients in the TCGA database were identified. The m5C-related model was constructed based on APOD, ASCL2, MFAP2, and CREB3L3. Functional enrichment revealed that the m5C-related model might involve in the cell cycle and cell adhesion. Moreover, the high-risk group had a higher abundance of stromal and immune cells in malignant tumor tissues and a lower tumor purity than the low-risk group. The patients in the high-risk group were more sensitive to chemotherapy and had better sensitivity to CTLA4 inhibitors. Furthermore, qRT-PCR results from our specimens verified an over-expression of ASCL2, CREB3L3, and MFAP2 in the cancer cells compared with the normal cells. Conclusion. A total of five GC subtypes were identified, and a risk model was constructed based on m5C modification.

Face reenactment aims to generate an animation of a source face using the poses and expressions from a target face. Although recent methods have made remarkable progress by exploiting generative adversarial networks, they are limited in generating high-fidelity and identity-preserving results due to the inappropriate driving information and insufficiently effective animating strategies. In this work, we propose a novel face reenactment framework that achieves both high-fidelity generation and identity preservation. Instead of sparse face representations (e.g., facial landmarks and keypoints), we utilize the Projected Normalized Coordinate Code (PNCC) to better preserve facial details. We propose to reconstruct the PNCC with the source identity parameters and the target pose and expression parameters estimated by 3D face reconstruction to factor out the target identity. By adopting the reconstructed representation as the driving information, we address the problem of identity mismatch. To effectively utilize the driving information, we establish the correspondence between the reconstructed representation and the source representation based on the features extracted by an encoder network. This identity-matched correspondence is then utilized to animate the source face using a novel feature transformation strategy. The generator network is further enhanced by the proposed geometry-aware skip connection. Once trained, our model can be applied to previously unseen faces without further training or fine-tuning. Through extensive experiments, we demonstrate the effectiveness of our method in face reenactment and show that our model outperforms state-of-the-art approaches both qualitatively and quantitatively. Additionally, the proposed PNCC reconstruction module can be easily inserted into other methods and improve their performance in cross-identity face reenactment.

Sympatric speciation (SS) refers to the origin of new species within a freely breeding population. The ‘Evolution Canyon’ (EC) in Israel is a natural microsite model for SS of species across phylogenies from viruses and bacteria to mammals, adapting to, and speciating in, interslope microclimates. The cosmopolitan Drosophila melanogaster at EC I, Mount Carmel, is undergoing incipient SS in response to sharply divergent interslope microclimate stresses, including solar radiation, temperature, humidity and pathogenicity. We demonstrated here a selective interslope divergence of single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) distribution in the Drosophila p53 pathway. This involves a total of 71 genes, which are associated with DNA repair, heat response, and fungal and bacterial resistant pathways. This distribution pattern links the previously observed thermotolerance and ageing divergence of D. melanogaster between the opposite canyon slopes: the south-facing slope (SFS, or African slope: tropical, savannoid and dry) and the abutting north-facing slope (NFS, or European slope; temperate, forested, cool and humid). The genes with interslope-significant differential SNPs link the p53 pathway with pathways related to the responses to microclimates through protein-protein interaction. Moreover, for the first time we provide evidence that the p53 pathway is linked to reproductive isolation, and is thus actively participating in incipient SS of D. melanogaster. This is the first demonstration of a link between the p53 pathway and reproductive isolation, thereby contributing to adaptive incipient sympatric speciation.

During a median follow-up period of 1.96 years, the HR for all-cause mortality was higher in the subset of patients with TyG ≥median and PCSK9 ≥median (p for trend = 0.023) among those with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). However, there were no statistically significant differences among the subgroups. Among T2DM patients with a TyG index greater than the median, the Kaplan-Meier curve showed that patients with the highest PCSK9 levels had an increased risk of all-cause mortality (log-rank p = 0.017) and cardiac-cause mortality (log-rank p = 0.037) compared with lower PCSK9 quartile levels.Conclusion: Elevated PCSK9 levels are related to all-cause mortality and cardiac-related mortality when TyG levels are greater than the median, but not when levels are less than the median. Wheat plants are ubiquitously simultaneously exposed to salinity and limited iron availability caused by soil saline-alkalisation. Through this study, we found that both low Fe and NaCl severely inhibited the growth of seminal roots in wheat seedlings; however, sufficient Fe caused greater growth cessation of seminal roots than low Fe under salt stress. Low Fe improved the root meristematic division activity, not altering the mature cell sizes compared with sufficient Fe under salt stress. Polymyxin-induced nephrotoxicity is a major safety concern in clinical practice due to long-term adverse outcomes and high mortality.To conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of the prevalence and potential predictors of polymyxin-induced nephrotoxicity in adult intensive care unit (ICU) patients.PubMed, EMBASE, the Cochrane Library and Reference Citation Analysis database were searched for relevant studies from inception through May 30, 2022. The pooled prevalence of polymyxin-induced nephrotoxicity and pooled risk ratios of associated factors were analysed using a random-effects or fixed-effects model by Stata SE ver. 12.1. Additionally, subgroup analyses and meta-regression were conducted to assess heterogeneity.A total of 89 studies involving 12234 critically ill adult patients were included in the meta-analysis. The overall pooled incidence of polymyxin-induced nephrotoxicity was 34.8%. The pooled prevalence of colistin-induced nephrotoxicity was not higher than that of polymyxin B (PMB)-induced nephrotoxicity. The subgroup analyses showed that nephrotoxicity was significantly associated with dosing interval, nephrotoxicity criteria, age, publication year, study quality and sample size, which were confirmed in the univariable meta-regression analysis. Nephrotoxicity was significantly increased when the total daily dose was divided into 2 doses but not 3 or 4 doses. Furthermore, older age, the presence of sepsis or septic shock, hypoalbuminemia, and concomitant vancomycin or vasopressor use were independent risk factors for polymyxin-induced nephrotoxicity, while an elevated baseline glomerular filtration rate was a protective factor against colistin-induced nephrotoxicity.Our findings indicated that the incidence of polymyxin-induced nephrotoxicity among ICU patients was high. It emphasizes the importance of additional efforts to manage ICU patients receiving polymyxins to decrease the risk of adverse outcomes.

Background: Hypertension is a common cardiovascular disease that is related to genetic and environmental factors, but its mechanisms remain unclear. DNA methylation, a classic epigenetic modification, not only regulates gene expression but is also susceptible to environmental factors, linking environmental factors to genetic modification. Therefore, globally screening differential genomic DNA methylation in patients with hypertension is important for investigating hypertension mechanisms. Methods: Differential genomic DNA methylation in patients with hypertension, individuals with prehypertension, and healthy control individuals was screened using Illumina 450K BeadChip and verified by pyrosequencing. Plasma OVGP1 (oviduct glycoprotein 1) levels were determined using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Ovgp1 transgenic and knockout mice were generated to analyze the function of OVGP1. The blood pressure levels of the mouse models were measured using the tail-cuff system and radiotelemetry methods. The role of OVGP1 in vascular remodeling was determined by vascular relaxation studies. Protein–protein interactions were investigated using a pull-down/mass spectrometry assay and verified with coimmunoprecipitation and pull-down assays. Results: We found a hypomethylated site at cg20823859 in the promoter region of OVGP1 and plasma OVGP1 levels were significantly increased in patients with hypertension. This finding indicates that OVGP1 is associated with hypertension. In Ovgp1 transgenic mice, OVGP1 overexpression caused an increase in blood pressure, dysfunctional vasoconstriction and vasodilation, remodeling of arterial walls, and increased vascular superoxide stress and inflammation, and these phenomena were exacerbated by angiotensin II infusion. In contrast, OVGP1 deficiency attenuated angiotensin II–induced vascular oxidase stress, inflammation, and collagen deposition. These findings indicate that OVGP1 is a prohypertensive factor that directly promotes vascular remodeling. Pull-down and coimmunoprecipitation assays showed that MYH9 (nonmuscle myosin heavy chain IIA) interacted with OVGP1, whereas inhibition of MYH9 attenuated OVGP1-induced hypertension and vascular remodeling. Conclusions: Hypomethylation at cg20823859 in the promoter region of OVGP1 is associated with hypertension and induces upregulation of OVGP1. The interaction between OVGP1 and MYH9 contributes to vascular remodeling and dysfunction. Therefore, OVGP1 is a prohypertensive factor that promotes vascular remodeling by binding with MYH9.

The potential adverse effects of 2,2′,4,4′-tetrabromodiphenyl ether (PBDE-47) on neurons are extensively studied, and mitochondria are identified as critical targets. This study aimed to investigate whether PBDE-47 impairs mitochondrial biogenesis via the miR-128-3p/PGC-1α axis to trigger mitochondrial dysfunction-related neuronal damage. In vitro neuroendocrine pheochromocytoma (PC12) cells and in vivo Sprague Dawley rat model were adopted. In this study, biochemical methods were used to examine mitochondrial ATP content, cell viability, and expressions of key mitochondrial biogenesis regulators, including peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator 1 alpha (PGC-1α), nuclear respiratory factor 1 (NRF1), and mitochondrial transcription factor A (TFAM). Mimics and inhibitors of miR-128-3p were employed to explore its role in PBDE-47-induced neurotoxicity. Both in vivo and in vitro evidences suggested that PBDE-47 suppressed PGC-1α/NRF1/TFAM signaling pathways and mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) encoding proteins synthesis. PBDE-47 also suppressed the relative mtDNA content, mRNA levels of mtDNA-encoded subunits, and mitochondrial ATP levels in vitro. Specifically, 2-(4-tert-butylphenyl) benzimidazole (ZLN005) alleviated PBDE-47-induced neuronal death through the improvement of mitochondrial function by activating PGC-1α/NRF1/TFAM signaling pathways. Mechanistically, PBDE-47 dramatically upregulated miR-128-3p expression. Furthermore, miR-128-3p inhibition enhanced PGC-1α/NRF1/TFAM signaling and abolished PBDE-47-induced impairment of mitochondrial biogenesis. In summary, this study provides in vitro evidence to reveal the role of mitochondrial biogenesis in PBDE-47-induced mitochondrial dysfunction and related neurotoxicity and suggests that miR-128-3p/PGC-1α axis may be a therapeutic target for PBDE-47 neurotoxicity.

This paper investigates the problem of the functional interval observer design for linear time-varying (LTV) systems with additive disturbances in both input and output channels. First, sufficient conditions for the existence of a functional interval observer for LTV systems are proposed. Based on the solution of a type of Sylvester matrix equations (generalized Sylvester equations, GSEs), completely parameterized expressions of functional interval observer coefficient matrices are established, yielding a simple and effective design approach for solving the interval estimation issue of the LTV system, while the free parameters in the expressions provide the design degrees of freedom that can be utilized to achieve additional system specifications. Furthermore, the developed observer may execute state estimation at the desired convergence rate, considerably improving estimate performance. Finally, a numerical example and a back-to-turn (BTT) aircraft control example are presented, with the results showing that the upper and lower bounds provided by the designed observer provide a better performance of interval estimation of the functional state variables, demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Tumor hypoxia is confirmed to be associated with the formation of tumor immunosuppression, a general feature of solid tumors, and thus attenuates the effectiveness of various cancer therapies in clinic. We herein develop a tumor microenvironment (TME) modulating liposomal nanomedicine by encapsulating metformin with amphiphilic oxaliplatin prodrug constructed liposomes to potentiate cancer immunotherapy. While metformin could regulate metabolisms of tumor cells to reduce their oxygen consumption and relieve tumor hypoxia, oxaliplatin is a chemotherapy drug that induces immunogenic cell death (ICD). The obtained met-oxa(IV)-liposome upon intravenous injection effectively attenuates tumor hypoxia and induce ICD of cancer cells, thereby collectively suppresses the growth of murine colorectal tumors by eliciting potent antitumor immunity and reversing the immunosuppressive TME. As the result, the treatment with met-oxa(IV)-liposome effectively potentiates the immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) therapy against murine colorectal tumors. This liposomal nanomedicine is highlighted to be a TME modulating liposomal nanomedicine with high potency in suppressing tumor growth, particularly promising in synergizing with ICB therapy by boosting antitumor immune responses.
