Existing evidence on the relationship between maternal tea consumption and pregnancy induced hypertension (PIH) is inconclusive. This study aimed to evaluate the association between maternal tea consumption and the risk of PIH.This study analysed the data of women without chronic hypertension who participated in a retrospective birth cohort study conducted from 2010 to 2012 at the Gansu Provincial Maternity and Child Care Hospital in Lanzhou, China. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the association between tea consumption and the risk of PIH and its clinical subtypes by different tea exposure time windows.Among the 10,452 women included in this study, tea consumption during pregnancy was significantly associated with an increased risk of PIH (odds ratio [OR] = 1.44, 95 % confidence interval [CI]: 1.01, 2.05), gestational hypertension (OR = 1.86, 95 % CI: 1.07, 3.21), and early-onset preeclampsia (OR = 2.93, 95 % CI: 1.21, 7.09). This was especially the case with black tea (OR = 3.57, 95 % CI: 1.67, 7.62).Tea consumption during pregnancy might be associated with an increased risk of PIH, gestational hypertension, and early-onset preeclampsia. These findings have important implications for public health in reducing the PIH.

Purpose: Our goal was to report the transcatheter closure of a paravalvular leak after transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) using 3-dimensional (3D) printing. Case Report: A 66-year-old man who had undergone transapical and TAVR 2 years ago due to aortic regurgitation, presented with palpitations and shortness of breath owing to exacerbation of paravalvular regurgitation. Echocardiography suggested that the stented aortic valve was fixed securely in place and the valve leaflets moved normally after TAVR, but there was severe paravalvular regurgitation (3 bundles, volume 11.0 mL). Due to the high surgical risk, we closed the transcatheter paravalvular leak using preprocedural guidance with 3D printing and intraprocedural guidance with digital subtraction angiography. Postoperative echocardiography showed that the paravalvular leak was significantly reduced. 3D construction showed that the occluders and the stent valve were well placed. Conclusion: Transcatheter closure of a paravalvular leak of the aortic valve may be feasible with appropriate pre- and intraoperative 3D printing guidance. Clinical Impact 3D printing technology may help surgeons to make accurate preoperative strategy before occlusion procedures.

Factors that affect environmentally sustainable travel behavior (or “green travel”) and their mechanisms of action are important to understand to conserve energy and reduce emissions. We constructed a model by integrating the theory of planned behavior (TPB) and the pressure-state-response (PSR) model with individual cognition of green travel policies (external pressure) and sensitivity of environmental problems (internal pressure). Then, an empirical study of 796 urban residents in eastern China was conducted. The results show that, with regard to the TPB, attitude has a direct and significant impact on self-practiced and interpersonal intentions, while perceived behavior control has a similar effect on self-practiced green travel intentions. Further, our results also indicate that subjective norms have indirect influence on both self-practiced and interpersonal intentions by affecting attitudes. With regard to the PSR model, urban residents’ cognitions of external and internal pressures affect their green travel intentions in various ways. Based on the results, some relevant policy recommendations aimed at promoting green travel are proposed.

The role of enterprise technological innovation in driving high-quality economic development has become increasingly prominent in a dynamic environment of uncertainty. This study examines the impact of economic policy uncertainty on enterprise technological innovation and its mechanism of action using panel data of agricultural listed firms in China 2007–2021. We obtain the following results. (1) Economic policy uncertainty significantly promotes technological innovation in agricultural firms, and this finding holds under various robustness checks, and works mainly through two paths: tightening financial flexibility and highlighting managerial capabilities. (2) From the heterogeneity results, the incentive effect of economic policy uncertainty on technological innovation in agricultural firms is more pronounced in state-owned agricultural firms, basic agricultural firms, and high adjustment cost agricultural firms. (3) Government subsidies strengthen the role of economic policy uncertainty in promoting technological innovation in agricultural firms. The results of this study provide data support for agricultural firms technology innovation decisions and have important implications for the guidance of national economic policy formulation.

A method of steel structure surface crack identification based on artificial intelligence technology is proposed to solve the problem that steel cracks can not be detected and forewarned in time when they appear in the railway industrial environment. The appearance of steel cracks greatly weakens the stability of steel structures, and will seriously endanger the safety of the railway industry if it is not detected and repaired in time. However, the common steel crack detection methods cannot achieve real-time monitoring of steel structures. In order to monitor the surface of steel structure in real-time and explore the recognition effect and model the advantages of common classification neural network models for surface cracks of railway industrial steel, this study evaluates the network model with multiple indicators and parameters under two experimental conditions. In this study, the steel surface cracks in the railway industrial environment are taken as samples, and the steel cracks are identified through the neural network model. For large-volume datasets, the recognition accuracy of the three network models has reached 97%, of which the YOLOv5 model has the best comprehensive recognition ability, and the C-Alex model has the best performance and convergence speed in small-volume datasets. This study explores the application prospects of models under different scenarios, proving that the three models can effectively detect steel surface cracks in real-time, and at the same time, it will pave the way for the development and application of artificial intelligence multi-model fusion technology in the field of the railway industry.

The current study was carried out to examine the effects of pueraria extract (PE) and curcumin (CUR) on growth performance, antioxidant capacity and intestinal integrity in broiler chickens. A complete randomized design with a 2 × 2 factorial arrangement of treatments was employed to assign 200 one-day-old Ross-308 broilers to four groups, each including five replicates of ten birds. Chickens in the control group (CON) were fed the basal diet, while the PE, CUR and PE+CUR groups were supplemented with 200 mg/kg PE or 200 mg/kg CUR or 200 mg/kg PE+ 200 mg/kg CUR. This trial lasted for 28 days. The PE supplementation decreased the average daily gain during the whole period (p < 0.05). The PE+CUR group had a higher feed conversion ratio than that of the PE and CUR groups during days 14–28 and 1–28 (p < 0.05). Dietary CUR supplementation increased duodenal T-SOD activity (p < 0.05). Compared with the CON group, the other three groups increased the duodenal GSH-Px activity, the PE+CUR group reduced the duodenal H2O2 level, and the CUR and PE groups elevated the ileal GSH-Px activity and the ratio of jejunal villus height to crypt depth, respectively (p < 0.05). The addition of PE decreased crypt depth and increased villus area and mucin-2 mRNA level in the jejunum (p < 0.05). Overall, dietary supplementation with PE, CUR, or a combination of these, enhanced the antioxidant status and intestinal integrity of broilers.

Nanoselenium (nano-Se) shows unique protective effects against environmental heat stress in rainbow trout as a selenium source additive and free radical scavenger. Accordingly, we investigated the effects of supplementation with different levels of nano-Se (0, 5, and 10 mg/kg) and before and after heat stress (24°C) for different treatment times on the dynamic changes of rainbow trout liver tissue structure, lipid changes, biochemical properties, and gene expression. The results showed that, under heat stress, the fish supplementation of 5 mg/kg nano-Se significantly increased liver glutathione peroxidase (GPx) activity and upregulated expression levels of HSP70b, HSP90a1, GPx1a, and Trx mRNAs, while liver alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), superoxide dismutase (SOD), and malondialdehyde (MDA) levels as well as tissue structure damage and lipid accumulation were decreased. Combining the trends for the above indicators indicated that stress began to increase significantly at 8 h. It can be concluded that supplementation with 5 mg/kg nano-Se effectively alleviates stress damage in rainbow trout. Furthermore, stress at 24°C for 8 h can be thought of as a critical time point for the study of heat stress in rainbow trout, with significant changes in response but no serious damage. Thus, these results provide a reference for the addition of nano-Se to rainbow trout feed and provide theoretical and practical guidance for enhancing the resistance of rainbow trout to heat stress.

Acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) is a biologically heterogeneous disease with an overall poor prognosis; thus, novel therapeutic approaches are needed. Our previous studies showed that 4-amino-2-trifluoromethyl-phenyl retinate (ATPR), a new derivative of all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA), could induce AML cell differentiation and cycle arrest. The current study aimed to determine the potential pharmacological mechanisms of ATPR therapies against AML. Our findings showed that E2A was overexpressed in AML specimens and cell lines, and mediate AML development by inactivating the P53 pathway. The findings indicated that E2A expression and activity decreased with ATPR treatment. Furthermore, we determined that E2A inhibition could enhance the effect of ATPR-induced AML cell differentiation and cycle arrest, whereas E2A overexpression could reverse this effect, suggesting that the E2A gene plays a crucial role in AML. We identified P53 and c-Myc were downstream pathways and targets for silencing E2A cells using RNA sequencing, which are involved in the progression of AML. Taken together, these results confirmed that ATPR inhibited the expression of E2A/c-Myc, which led to the activation of the P53 pathway, and induced cell differentiation and cycle arrest in AML.

BackgroundLead-induced tricuspid regurgitation is one of the complications after permanent pacemaker implantation (PPI) and refers to tricuspid regurgitation (TR) caused by the lead in the right ventricle (RV).ObjectivesTo study the clinical characteristics of severe TR after PPI and the effect of transcatheter tricuspid valve replacement (TTVR) with the guidance of 3-dimensional (3D) printing.MethodsThis study was a single-center, descriptive study. Six patients with severe TR after PPI were enrolled in Xijing Hospital from January 2020 to May 2020. Before TTVR, the 3D printed tricuspid valve (TV) model was used for evaluation in the bench test. LuX-Valve was implanted under the guidance of TEE and x-ray fluoroscopy, and all patients underwent transatrial access. Six patients’ data were collected at baseline, before discharge, and 6 months, 1 year and 2 years after TTVR.ResultsThe LuX-Valve was successfully implanted in 6 patients, TR was significantly reduced to ≤2+, and no deaths or cardiopulmonary bypass occurred during procedures. Three cases were caused by TV expansion: Patient #4 had TR caused by lead adhesion to TV, Patient #2 had TR caused by lead winding, and Patient #6 had TR caused by lead impingement on TV. During the 2-year follow-up, TTE revealed that 5 patients had no/trace regurgitation, and one patient (Patient #5) had mild regurgitation. All 6 patients (100.0%) reached primary endpoints.ConclusionTTVR guided by 3D printing is safe and effective in the treatment of severe TR associated with permanent pacemaker lead, providing prospects and possibilities for the precise treatment of TV-related diseases.Clinical Trial Registration: ClinicalTrials.gov Protocol Registration System (NCT02917980).

Among the most damaging diseases of rubber trees is anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum, which leads to significant economic losses. Nonetheless, the specific Colletotrichum species that infect rubber trees in Yunnan Province, an important natural rubber base in China, have not been extensively investigated. Here, we isolated 118 Colletotrichum strains from rubber tree leaves exhibiting anthracnose symptoms in multiple plantations in Yunnan. Based on comparisons of their phenotypic characteristics and ITS rDNA sequences, 80 representative strains were chosen for additional phylogenetic analysis based on eight loci (act, ApMat, cal, CHS-1, GAPDH, GS, his3, and tub2), and nine species were identified. Colletotrichum fructicola, C. siamense, and C. wanningense were found to be the dominant pathogens causing rubber tree anthracnose in Yunnan. C. karstii was common, whereas C. bannaense, C. brevisporum, C. jinpingense, C. mengdingense, and C. plurivorum were rare. Among these nine species, C. brevisporum and C. plurivorum are reported for the first time in China, and two species are new to the world: C. mengdingense sp. nov. in the C. acutatum species complex and C. jinpingense sp. nov. in the C. gloeosporioides species complex. Their pathogenicity was confirmed with Koch’s postulates by inoculating each species in vivo on rubber tree leaves. This study clarifies the geographic distribution of Colletotrichum species associated with anthracnose on rubber trees in representative locations of Yunnan, which is crucial for the implementation of quarantine measures.

Atherosclerosis (AS) is a chronic inflammatory disease that is a major cause of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), including coronary artery disease, hypertension, myocardial infarction, and heart failure. Hence, the mechanisms of AS are still being explored. A growing compendium of evidence supports that the activity of the mechanistic/mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) is highly correlated with the risk of AS. The mTOR signaling pathway contributes to AS progression by regulating autophagy, cell senescence, immune response, and lipid metabolism. Various botanical drugs and their functional compounds have been found to exert anti- AS effects by modulating the activity of the mTOR signaling pathway. In this review, we summarize the pathogenesis of AS based on the mTOR signaling pathway from the aspects of immune response, autophagy, cell senescence, and lipid metabolism, and comb the recent advances in natural compounds from botanical drugs to inhibit the mTOR signaling pathway and delay AS development. This review will provide a new perspective on the mechanisms and precision treatments of AS.
