© 2022, Mary Ann Liebert, Inc., publishers 2022.Objective: To evaluate the effects of photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) at distinct energy levels on peri-implant bone healing in extra-short implants in a experimental rabbit model. Background: The effect of PBMT on peri-implant bone healing in short implants remains unclear. This explored the effect of PBMT on extra-short implants in terms of bone-implant contact (BIC) length and rate, and implant stability quotient (ISQ). Methods: Fifteen white New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into five groups. In all groups, extra-short implants (3.5 × 4 mm; Nucleoss T6, Izmir/Turkey) were placed in both tibias of the rabbits. PBMT was performed in four groups (group 1, 5 J/cm2; group 2, 10 J/cm2; group 3, 20 J/cm2; and group 4, 25 J/cm2); no PBMT was performed in the control group. On the 30th day, the rabbits were sacrificed and peri-implant tissue samples were obtained to determine the BIC length and BIC rate. Implant stability levels were measured by resonance frequency analysis using the Osstell penguin device and were determined as ISQ values on the 1st and 30th days of the study. Results: PBMT significantly increased the BIC length and BIC rate in groups 3 and 4 (p < 0.001). For the ISQ values, there were significant differences between the 1st and 30th day (p < 0.001). On the 30th day, the ISQ values were significantly higher in groups 3 and 4 compared with the remaining groups (p < 0.001). Conclusions: In this study, PBMT improved peri-implant bone healing through increase in BIC length, BIC rate, and ISQ parameter values in extra-short implants.

Aim: The present study aims to investigate the healing ofartificially created peri-implant osseous defects using Titanium-Platelet RichFibrinMaterial andMethod: Bone defects (9-mm diameter, 4-mm depth) were created and implant beds(3-mm diameter, 6-mm depth) were prepared in the middle of them in rabbittibias (24 rabbits) used as the experimental model. Afterwards, dental implants were installed into the left and righttibia (diameter 3.0 mm, length 8 mm). In the experimental groups, the peri-implantdefect was filled with Autogenous grafts (AG), Titanium-Platelet Rich Fibrin (T-PRF),Biphasic Calcium Phosphate grafts (BCP). The control group did not receive anyfilling. The bone-to-implant contact (BIC) was obtained byhistomorphometrically examining the sections taken from the study groups. Results: AG group was resulted in a high degree of BIC. Nodifference of statistical significance was found for the BIC as far asautogenous graft and PRF groups are concerned. Conclusion: Peri-implantal defects in regeneration of T-PRF werefound to be nearly as affective as the autogenous bone graft. We, therefore, conclude that T-PRF can be used for guided bone regeneration in the function ofautogenic matrix in the future., Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı titanyum tüplerde hazırlanantrombositten zengin fibrinin (T-PRF) deneysel olarak hazırlanmış periimplantalkemik defektlerindeki rejenerasyonu incelemektir.

Objective: In this study, we aimed to determine periimplantal tissue regeneration in the use of platelet-rich fibrin in periimplantal defects. Methods:Twelve male New Zealand white rabbits were used for this study. each of the right and left tibias of rabbits Using a trephine bur (diameter 7.0 mm), monocortical defects were prepared (7 mm width,4 mm depth).Subsequently, dental implants(AL-Technology dental implants sharkimplants) were installed into the left and right tibia (diameter 3.0 mm, length 8 mm). In the experimental groups, the peri-implant defect was filled respectively 1-autogenous grafts, 2-PRF 3-synthetic grafts (MIS 4BONE ). The control was left in an unfilled state. İmplant stability was evaluated with the resonance frequency analysis method (RFA)Results: The Ostell ISQ for the experimental groups respectively 1 -autogenous graft group 76.00±3.89,2-PRF group 75.00±3.84,3- sentetic graft group 67.00±5.72 while control group 56,33±5,12. The difference between the 2 groups (autogenous graft and prf groups) was statistically not significant while all other differences between groups are statistically significant. Conclusion: Within the limits of this study, it was found that periimplantal defects in the regeneration of Platelet-Rich Fibrin is effective as the autogenous graft
