This analysis was the result of the need to clearly expose social problems related to sports, as well as social life, in the economically devastated border regions of eastern Serbia, seen from a micro sociological perspective. Long-term demographic changes, problems related to transition and existential difficulties in contemporary Serbian society have greatly impaired the image of the social status of the sport participants in comparison to other parts of the Balkans. Our starting point was the following question: are sporting events in the border regions integration factors, or are they just a product of global integration processes? The authors are make an attempt to analyze the meaning of sport in the border regions from the perspective of sports teachers (participants in sport) based on Bogosav Đurđanović recounting his experience as a teacher and athlete, as well as a resident of Kladovo. Analysis of the data obtained in an interview modestly point out the importance of subjective experiences related to sport, and its social function within education and beyond. The obtained test results confirm that the sport experience only in conjunction with the energy of the younger generation contributes to the progress of the social development of the border regions, but that it not only contributes to the social reputation of sports educators, but to the participants (actors) in sport as well. A special emphasis was placed on the description of the individual and collective achievements of our respondent (awards, medals, cups, etc.). This confirmed the fact that he is a role model in the field of sport and a teacher in the border regions of Eastern Serbia. We relied on a qualitative analysis an in-depth interview - as a methodologically most useful research tool.

The aim of the study was to determine the effects of plyometric training on the explosive power of the lower extremities, sprint and the change of direction speed. The sample of the respondents consisted of 33 basketball players of OKK "Stari Ras" and OKK "Novi Pazar" from Novi Pazar. The respodents were divided into two groups: experimental group (E; n=16), age (15.3±0.4years), body height (185.45±8.75cm), body weight (76.87±11.51kg), with training experience (4.69±1.40years) and control group (K; n=17), age (15.4±0.5years), body height (184.16±6.93cm), body weight (73.68±11.70kg), with training experience (5.53±3.18years). The experimental group consisted of basketball players from basketball team OKK "Stari Ras", who in addition to the basic technical and tactical training, also had plyometric training. The control group consisted of the basketball players from basketball team OKK "Novi Pazar", who at that time had only technical and tactical training. To assess the explosive power of the lower extremities, were used: Squat Jump (SJ), Countermovement Jump (CMJ), Drop Jump (DJ) and Countermovement Jump with Arm Swing (CMJ/AS). For sprint assess: Sprint Speed at 5m (S5m), 10m (S10m) and 20m (F20m). To assess the change of direction speed: Reactive Shuttle Test (RST), Lane Arrow Closeout (LAC), Lane Agility Drill (LAD) and Modified 505 Test (M505). The experimental program, which involves the use of plyometric training, lasted for 10 weeks, and every week they conducted two training sessions. Plyometric training lasted from 45min at the beginning of the experiment to 70min at the end of the experiment. Each plyometric training consisted of three parts: introduction, main and final part. The data obtained by the procedure described above are processed by the statistical program SPSS 19. To determine the effect of plyometric training on the motor skills of basketball players, the analysis of covariance ANCOVA was used. The results showed that after experimental treatment, E group achieved significantly greater progress than group K in the following tests: SJ, CMJ, DJ, S5m, S20m, RST, LAC and LAD. There was no difference between the E and K groups on the CMJ/AS, S10m and M505 tests. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the plyometric training had positive effects on the development of explosive power of the lower extremities, sprint and change of direction speed of young basketball players.

The goal of this doctor dissertation in to establish the effects of experimental program of sports games to improve the motoric abilities of adolescents with mental disabilities. The research was conveyed on a sample of examinees adolescents diagnosed with mild mental disabilities, divided in to 2 groups of 30 examinees; experimental and control groups. Special program of sports game lasted twelve weeks, the frequency of 4 times per week in the duration of 30 min per training. The examinees of both groups were tested with the same variables within the motoric and specific motoric abilities : MGLR, MTRB, MT25, MTSS with the statistical importance p=0.000 .The results of ANOVA and MANOVA analysis showed that after applying specific sport games there is a statistically important positive difference in the experimental group contrary to the control group in parameters of the motoric abilities as well as in all variables of specific motoric abilities with statistically importance p=0.000 and the importance of the influence. Pursuant to these research results it can be concluded that specific training program conducted during twelve weeks and specially dosed of sport activities has significantly improved the motoric and specific motoric abilities within the sport games of football and basketball.

The aim of this study was to determine the effects of complex training (a combination of weight training and biomechanically similar plyometric jumps) on the motor skills of basketball players, namely: explosive power of the lower extremities, agility and speed running. The sample consisted of 31 basketball players of junior age from basketball clubs OKK "Konstantin" and OKK "Junior" from Nis. The respondents were divided into two groups: the experimental group (E, n = 16; AVIS = 186,17cm ± 6,50cm; AMAS = 74,75 ± 9,48kg) and control group (K; n = 15; AVIS = 185,15 ± 9,10cm; AMAS = 79,23 ± 11,87kg). The experimental group (E) consisted of basketball players from basketball team OKK "Constantine," who in addition to the basic technical and tactical training also had a complex training. The control group (K) consisted of the basketball players from basketball team OKK "Junior", who at that time had only technical and tactical training. To assess the explosive strength of the lower extremities were used: Squat Jump (SJ), Countermovement Jump (CMJ), Drop Jump (DJ) and Countermovement Jump/Single leg (CMJ/S). To assess agility: Agility T Test (TTEST) Hexagon Agility Test (HEKS), Illinois Agility Test (ILINO), Lane Agility Drill (DRIL) for speed measuring: 10x5m Shuttle Test (10x5m), Sprint Fatigue Test (SFT) and Sprint Speed at 15m (S15m). The experimental program, which involves the use of complex training, lasted for 12 weeks and every week they conducted two training sessions. Each complex training lasted for 90 minutes and consisted of three parts: introduction, main and final part. Data processing was carried out by SPSS statistical program. To determine the effect of complex training on the motor skills of basketball players, the analysis of covariance ANCOVA was used. The results showed that after experimental treatment, E group achieved significantly greater progress than group K in the following tests: SJ, CMJ, DJ, TTEST, HEKS, ILINO, DRIL, 10x5m and S15m. There was no difference between E and K group on tests CMJ/S and SFT. Based on these results we concluded that the complex training had a positive effect on the development of explosive strength of the lower extremities, agility and speed running of young players.

The research was conducted in purpose to determine changes in level of speed, agility and explosive leg power at top basketball players after 12-week experimental program. The study included 15 players from "Konstantin" Basketball Club from Nis contestants of the Basketball League of Serbia. The youngest basketball player is 18 and the oldest 26 years. All players have a professional contract with the club they are performing for. The average basketball internship is 12.7 years. The experiment included four sets of variables for the assessment of anthropometric characteristics taken as control measures (height and body mass), speed (10x5m shuttle test, sprint fatigue test and sprint speed at 15m), agility (agility T test, hexagon agility test, Illinois agility test and lane agility drill) and explosive leg power (squat jump, countermovement jump, drop jump and standing long jump). Experimental program lasted 12 weeks from January to March 2015, and in this period was held 36 training sessions, three sessions per week, for development of speed, agility and explosive leg power. The duration of each training session was 90 minutes. In addition to training within the experimental program, the players also had regular training within a contest cycle. The structure of the training program consisted of seven training units, implemented according to the established order: dynamic flexibility, sprint exercises, agility, accumulation of potential, explosive strength, expression of potential and extension, stretching, relaxation and massage. Statistical analysis was performed using statistical package SPSS and Statistics. In addition to the basic descriptive parameters and discrimination measurements was used and the Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) and the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The Analyses of Variance were showed changes in the final measurement compared to the initial. The results showed statistically significant changes in all three areas of the speediness- explosive performances (speed, agility and explosive leg power) at both levels on multivariate (speed - p> 0.01; agility - p 0.05),and on univariate level. It can be concluded that the experimental program significantly influenced the changes of these abilities. The significance of this research lies in the fact that it presented a program for the development of speediness-explosive performances of top players, based on real indicators of success during the contest season, which resulted in higher situational efficiency. This fact indicates that it can be assumed that thus conceived program will provide statistically significant results regarding effects of the experimental program on changes of the tested abilities in relation to the volume, quality and continuity of training. The results showed that properly dosed training can affect development of tested abilities, and previous studies have already shown that with mentioned development comes the result.

Asymmetry in limb use is a phenomenon that is present in daily life, and therefore also in the sport. It´s presence is a consequence of lateralization at the level of the CNS. The primary objective of the study that was realized is to determine the to which extent asymmetry is present in limb use in basketball, and how unilateral type of training impact on the reduction of the same. A secondary objective was to determine how basketball affects on the uneven use of extremities compared to healthy school population that is not actively involved in sports training. Research included 45 boys aged 15, who were divided into three groups: Experimental, Control 1 and Control 2. Tested variables are explosive strength of leg extensors, explosive strength of arm extensors, agility, reaction time and dribbling control. In the experimental group was realized a corrective training, composed of 24 units for a period of eight weeks. The training was focused on the limb that has proven to be a weaker in the initial testing, and training methods were applied: circuit training, working at stations and complex training. The results were analyzed by the coefficient of asymmetry, One Way ANOVA, Mixed Design ANOVA and the percentage difference from the same limb at the initial and final testing. Results of the research indicate that the variables that most influenced by the corrective training are explosive strength of leg extensors and explosive strength of arm extensors, while the other variables were also made progress and have a positive trend in reducing the asymmetry, but not that much. It was also found that basketball has a positive effect in that ages on the level of asymmetry in the use of limbs as opposed to sedentary school population.
