To analyze the biological effects of radiation, it is important that the conditions of in vitro experiments match closely with those of in vivo experiments. In this study, we constructed an irradiation system to conduct irradiation experiments under conditions similar to those of in vivo experiments. The Dongnam Institute of Radiological and Medial Sciences has a gamma irradiator including 60Co radioisotope for research purposes and accreditation for standard calibration of the ion chamber. The temperature of the water phantom was maintained the same as that of the normal human body, and the physical dosimetry was carried out accurately using the ion chamber with traceability. We report the measurement of lateral profiles, depth profiles, and absorbed dose rate in water, Dw, at the irradiation location of the blood samples using a farmer-type ion chamber. We simulated the source, collimator, irradiator, phantom, and extra structure of the gamma irradiation system using the Monte Carlo code and compared the simulated and the experimental results. The experimentally and theoretically evaluated dose rates were 0.2975 ? 0.0055 Gymin?1 (at coverage factor k = 2) and 0.2978 ? 0.0052 Gymin?1 (at coverage factor k = 2) at source-to-surface distance of 100 cm and 5 gcm?2 depth in the water phantom, respectively. Blood irradiation will be conducted in vitro, under conditions similar to in vivo conditions, to provide the dose-response curve based on dosimetry with traceability.

다양한 공공데이터가 생산 및 공개되어 여러 분야에서 데이터를 활용하는 사례가 증가하고 있다. 하지만 공개된 데이터는 데이터의 크기가 크고 항목이 복잡하여 직관적으로 의미를 파악하고 활용하기 어렵다. 데이터 시각화 기술은 데이터를 시각적인 형태로 표현하여 데이터에 대한 전문적인 지식이 없는 상황에서도 데이터를 활용할 수 있게 하여 다양한 분야에서 주목을 받고 있다. 건축 기획단계에서는 건축가, 건축주, 이용자, 지역사회 등 다양한 의사결정 주체들이 참여하여 전체 프로젝트의 성격을 규정하기 때문에 프로젝트 전반에 걸쳐 가장 큰 영향력을 발휘한다고 할 수 있다. 현재 기획단계 의사결정과정에서 근거로 활용할 수 있는 다양한 공공데이터들이 개방되어 있지만 활용은 타 분야에 비해 저조한 편이다. 본 논문에서는 기획업무에서 정량적인 데이터를 활용하는 방법 중 하나로 데이터 시각화 도구를 사용하여 데이터를 시각화하는 프로세스를 제안하는 것에 목적이 있다. 이론적 고찰과 기획업무 분석을 통해 데이터 활용 목적 설정(업무 범위 선정), 활용 데이터 선정, 데이터 획득, 데이터 시각화 네 단계의 데이터 시각화 프로세스를 제안하였으며 이를 구체적인 시나리오에 적용하여 실제 시각화 결과물을 제시하였다.

UBC Farm emphasizes the importance of “down-to-earth” and “low-tech” sustainability philosophy. And, Véronik Campbell, the project stakeholder, emphasizes two essential factors for this UBC Farm Sustainability College Project: a housing option must have minimum environmental impact and must be able to create community involvement (Campbell, 2012). With these essential considerations, the research has thoroughly done. Due to limited academic resources, three commercial products representing today’s leading sustainable housing are presented in this report: m-ch, Dwelle and 4Treehouse. Then, a triple bottom line assessment has been performed to analyze each housing option. As stated in the project guideline, the sustainability college shall have single occupancy units and family occupancy units. Approximately, it should be able to occupy 75-100 residents. Since a single house of each option cannot satisfy the desired number of occupants, multiple of those houses will be applied during assessment. The definition of sustainability is very broad; no single housing option can fulfill the purposes. Thus, a combination of m-ch, dewell.ing, and 4Treehouse will be ultimately selected for UBC Farm Sustainability College project. Biomarkers are increasingly employed in empirical studies of human populations to understand physiological processes that change with age, diseases whose onset appears linked to age, and the aging process itself. In this chapter, we describe some of the most commonly used biomarkers in population aging research, including their collection, associations with other markers, and relationships to health outcomes. We discuss biomarkers of the cardiovascular system, metabolic processes, inflammation, activity in the hypothalamic-pituitary axis (HPA) and sympathetic nervous system (SNS), and organ functioning (including kidney, lung, and heart). In addition, we note that markers of functioning of the central nervous system and genetic markers are now becoming part of population measurement. Where possible, we detail interrelationships between these markers by providing correlations between high risk levels of each marker from three population-based surveys: the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) III, NHANES 1999-2002, and the MacArthur Study of Successful Aging. NHANES III is used instead of NHANES 1999-2002 when specific markers of interest are available only in NHANES III and when we examine the relationship of biomarkers to mortality which is only known for NHANES III. We also describe summary measures combining biomarkers across systems. Finally, we examine associations between individual markers and mortality and provide information about biomarkers of growing interest for future research in population aging and health.
