This study aimed to ex situ colorize laccase-entrapped bacterial cellulose (BC) with natural phenolic dyes, namely,madder, turmeric, and cochineal, and to determine the effect of laccase entrapment on the dyeability of BC using color strength (K/S) analysis. Results showed that laccase entrapment improved the dyeability of BC and that pre-entrapment was the most effective method, compared with meta-entrapment and post-entrapment methods. In addition, surface characterizations confirmed the successful entrapment of laccase inside the BC nanostructure and retention of the cellulosic and crystalline structures of BC. The washing durability test confirmed that the K/S value of BC had improved after laccase entrapment. Furthermore, laccase-entrapped BC colorized with cochineal dye had the highest washing durability due to the high molecular weight of cochineal dyerelative to the other dyes. This study suggests a novel method for enhancing the dyeability and washing durability of BC colorized ex situ with natural phenolic dyes by laccase entrapment.

Salt is one of the most important factors for fermented foods, but the effect of salt treatment time on the quality of fermented foods has rarely been studied. In this study, the effect of different salt treatment times (0, 48, and 96 h) after the start of fermentation on the quality of the soy sauce moromi extract (SSME) was investigated. As the salt treatment time was delayed, the population of Aspergillus oryzae, Lactobacillaceae, and Enterococcaecea in SSME increased, whereas the population of Staphylococcaceae and Bacillaceae decreased, leading to changes in the enzymatic activity and metabolite profiles. In particular, the contents of amino acids, peptides, volatile compounds, acidic compounds, sugars, and secondary metabolites were significantly affected by the salt treatment time, resulting in changes in the sensory quality and appearance of SSME. The correlation data showed that metabolites, bacterial population, and sensory parameters had strong positive or negative correlations with each other. Moreover, based on metabolomics analysis, the salt treatment-time-related SSME metabolomic pathway was proposed. Although further studies are needed to elucidate the salt treatment mechanism in fermented foods, our data can be useful to better understand the effect of salt treatment time on the quality of fermented foods.

To better understanding Brucella abortus infection, serum metabolites of B. abortus-infected and -uninfected mice were analyzed and twenty-one metabolites were tentatively identified at 3 and 14 days post-infection (d.p.i.). Level of most lysophosphatidylcholines (LPCs) was found to increase in infected mice at 3 d.p.i., while it was decreased at 14 d.p.i. as compared to uninfected mice. In contrast, acylcarnitines were initially reduced at 3 d.p.i then elevated after two-weeks of infection, while hydroxysanthine was increased at 14 d.p.i. in infected mice. Our findings suggest that the significant changes in LPCs and other identified metabolites may serve as potential biomarkers in acute phase of B. abortus infection.

Current lithium-ion batteries are vulnerable to fire accidents and explosions because liquid electrolytes have a low flash point and poor thermal stability. This intrinsic problem has led to an ever-growing interest in solid-state polymer electrolytes with high thermal stability. In this study, a solidified polyether-based polymer electrolyte is incorporated into a graphite/LiFePO4 full-cell battery. A liquid precursor, which is prepared by mixing the bisphenol A ethoxylate diacrylate (BisA) crosslinker and the poly(ethylene glycol) dimethyl ether (PEGDME) plasticizer, first wets the anode and cathode, and is then solidified by in situ thermal crosslinking to produce a solid polymer electrolyte. BisA forms a rigid crosslinked network and PEGDME conducts lithium ions within the network. Analysis results, including in situ X-ray diffraction, show that PEGDME in the polymer electrolyte is co-intercalated with lithium ions into the gallery of the graphite electrode, which causes electrode exfoliation and severe capacity fading. Fluoroethylene carbonate is highly effective to prevent the co-intercalation of lithium–PEGDME complex ions into the graphite, via the formation of a solid electrolyte interphase layer, which leads to the ‘absolute intercalation’ of lithium ions. Consequently, the graphite/LiFePO4 full-cell battery based on the solid polymer electrolyte runs stably at a coulombic efficiency higher than 99% for most cycles and the residual capacity of the cell reaches 80% after 100 cycles.

To cope with economic globalization and improve the competitiveness of transnational start-ups, the impact of the work environment and innovation behavior on corporate performance of multinational new ventures is analyzed. First, a model of the interaction among environment, innovation behavior, and enterprise performance is proposed. Then, 296 transnational start-ups in coastal areas are surveyed, and the model results are analyzed. Finally, a series of results are obtained. The oral care probiotic strain Weissella cibaria CMU (oraCMU) inhibits volatile sulphur compounds associated with halitosis, presumably by inhibiting the growth of associated oral pathogens. In the present study, we investigated whether oraCMU inhibits the production of these compounds by suppressing the expression of mgl . This gene encodes L-methionine-α-deamino-γ-mercaptomethane-lyase (METase) and is involved in the production of methyl mercaptan (CH3SH) by Porphyromonas gingivalis . Therefore, we specifically investigated the effects of oraCMU on the growth, CH3SH production, METase activity, and mgl expression of P. gingivalis . The minimum inhibitory concentrations of cell-free supernatant and secreted proteins from oraCMU were 125 mg/mL and 800 µg/mL, respectively. At sub-minimum inhibitory concentration levels, these metabolites inhibited CH3SH production, but they also reduced P. gingivalis viability. Only heat-killed oraCMU decreased CH3SH production without affecting P. gingivalis viability. Heat-killed oraCMU also inhibited METase activity toward L-methionine and mgl mRNA expression (p < 0.05). In summary, we demonstrated the inhibition of volatile sulphur compounds via the antimicrobial action of oraCMU and, for the first time, the inhibition of such compounds by heat-killed oraCMU, which occurred at the molecular level.

유효세율을 사용한 조세회피에 관한 연구는 대부분 조세회피 측정치인 유효세율의 횡단면적 변동성만을 연구대상으로 하였다. 최근 순수 국내기업의 유효세율이 다국적기업의 경우와 동일하게 감소추세를 보인다는 Dyreng et al.(2017)의 연구에 의해 유효세율의 횡단면적 시간추세에 대한 연구가 촉발되었다. 그러나 Dyreng et al.(2017)의 연구와 이후의 관련 연구들은 시간추세가 있는 횡단면적 연구라는데 이전의 연구들과 차별성을 갖지만, 전체기업의 연도별 평균 유효세율의 추세를 연구대상으로 한다는 점에서 종단면적 개별기업의 유효세율의 추세들의 변동성이 지닌 정보를 얻지 못한다는 연구방법론상의 한계를 가진다. 본 연구는 이러한 한계점을 극복하고자 1998년에서 2017년까지 양의 세전이익을 보고한 283개 기업(4,797개 기업－연도) 표본에 대하여 랜덤효과 모델을 사용하여 개별기업의 종단면적 유효세율 추세의 변동성을 분석하였다. 랜덤효과 모델의 장점은 전통적인 OLS 회귀분석으로는 추정할 수 없는 추세선 기울기의 확률분포를 추정할 수 있어 종단면적 시간추세의 변동성을 분석할 수 있다는 점이다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 추세선 기울기의 확률분포는 N(－0.0016, 0.00452)으로 추정되었다. 이것은 유효세율 추세의 변동성이 표준편차로 표시할 때 0.45%로 평균 －0.16%를 고려할 때 상당한 변동성을 보여주는 것이다. 둘째, 유효세율이 감소하는 추세를 가진 기업의 비율은 64.15%로, 증가하는 추세를 가진 기업의 비율은 35.85% 추정되고 이들의 차이는 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 즉 유효세율이 감소하는 기업이 증가하는 기업보다 많은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 유효세율의 제1차 자기상관계수는 0.2916으로 추정되었다. 넷째, 자산총액이 중앙값 미만인 기업집단과 중앙값 이상인 기업집단간의 유효세율 추세의 변동성을 비교하였으나 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 발견하지 못하였다. 본 연구의 공헌점으로는 유효세율의 추세를 분석함에 있어 표본전체의 연도별 평균 유효세율의 추세를 분석한 것이 아니라 랜덤효과 모델을 사용하여 최초로 개별기업의 종단면적 유효세율 추세의 변동성을 분석하였다는 점을 들 수 있다.

Objective This study was performed to evaluate whether cold ambient temperature and dietary rumen-protected fat (RPF) supplementation affect growth performance, rumen fermentation, and blood parameters in Korean cattle steers. Methods Twenty Korean cattle steers (body weight [BW], 550.6±9.14 kg; age, 19.7±0.13 months) were divided into a conventional control diet group (n = 10) and a 0.5% RPF supplementation group (n = 10). 최근 온라인 유통을 둘러싼 변화의 물결이 거세다. 온라인과 오프라인은 긴밀히 결합하고 있고, 4차 산업기술의 본격적 활용이 시작되었다. 이처럼 산업간 융합과 신규사업자의 진출이 활발한 가운데, 아마존은 쇼핑 부문의 우위를 기반으로 광고와 검색으로 영역을 넓혀가고 있고, 구글은 반대로 검색과 광고 영역에서 온라인 쇼핑으로 진격을 시작하였다. 국내 온라인 쇼핑 영역에서도 온-오프라인 융합이 가속화되고 있는 가운데, 온라인의 주도적 유형인 오픈마켓과 소셜커머스가 주춤한 사이, 오프라인 유통업체들의 적극적인 온라인 진출이 이루어지고 있고 네이버와 카카오 등 인터넷플랫폼 사업자들도 쇼핑영역에서 지분을 넓혀가고 있다. 이러한 상황에서 본 연구는 먼저, 급격하게 변화하고 있는 현재 온라인쇼핑 시장에서 유효한 온라인 쇼핑 유형을 구분해 보고, 주요 유형별 특징을 분석해 보았다. 현재 시점에서 쇼핑몰 유형별 특징과 장단점을 소비자 관점에서 진단해보는 것은 국내 유통산업의 미래 경쟁 환경 변화를 예측하고 사업방향을 제시하는데 기초적인 작업이 될 수 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 인터넷 쇼핑몰을 오픈마켓, 소셜커머스, 복합브랜드몰, 단일브랜드몰, 대형마트 쇼핑몰, 백화점쇼핑몰, 홈쇼핑, 인터넷 플랫폼커머스의 8가지 유형으로 구분하였다. 다음으로 쇼핑몰 유형별 소비자를 대상으로 한 설문조사 분석 결과, 인터넷플랫폼 커머스를 대표하고 있는 네이버 쇼핑이 후발주자임에도 불구하고, 서비스 품질, 전반적 고객만족도에서 매우우수를 받아, 각각 1개 분야에서 매우우수 평가를 받은 소셜커머스와 홈쇼핑을 전체적인 만족도 측면에서 앞지른 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 입점 판매업체 대상의 조사결과에서도, 네이버쇼핑은 수수료, 부가 서비스 그리고 대금지급 측면에서 다른 온라인쇼핑 유형과는 차별화된 장점을 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났고, 이에 따라 전반적 만족도와 향후 거래의도가 높게 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과로 알 수 있는 점은, 유통, 기술 및 디바이스의 환경 변화에 따라 현재 소비자에게 핵심적인 효용을 제공하는 영역이 점차 변화하고 있으며, 온라인 쇼핑몰 유형별로는 각각 다른 자원과 역량을 바탕으로 치열한 가치 차별화가 진행 중이라는 점이다. 결국 각 사업유형별로 제시된 강약점을 효과적으로 보완/강화하는 기업이 국내 온라인 유통 시장의 강자로 등극할 것이며, 이는 2~3년 내 국내 온라인 쇼핑시장의 판도 변화로 이어질 전망이다.
