The pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is related to genetic susceptibility, enteric dysbiosis, and uncontrolled, chronic inflammatory responses that lead to colonic tissue damage and impaired intestinal absorption. As a consequence, patients with IBD are prone to nutrition deficits after each episode of disease resurgence. Nutritional supplementation, especially for protein components, is often implemented during the remission phase of IBD. Notably, ingested nutrients could affect the progression of IBD and the prognostic outcome of patients; therefore, they should be cautiously evaluated prior to being used for IBD intervention. Arginine (Arg) is a semi-essential amino acid required for protein synthesis and intimately associated with gut pathophysiology. To help optimize arginine-based nutritional intervention strategies, the present work summarizes that during the process of IBD, patients manifest colonic Arg deficiency and the turbulence of Arg metabolic pathways. The roles of Arg–nitric oxide (catalyzed by inducible nitric oxide synthase) and Arg–urea (catalyzed by arginases) pathways in IBD are debatable; the Arg–polyamine and Arg–creatine pathways are mainly protective. Overall, supplementation with Arg is a promising therapeutic strategy for IBD; however, the dosage of Arg may need to be carefully tailored for different individuals at different disease stages. Additionally, the combination of Arg supplementation with inhibitors of Arg metabolic pathways as well as other treatment options is worthy of further exploration.

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a chronic autoimmune disorder stemming from unrestrained immune activation and subsequent destruction of colon tissue. Genetic susceptibility, microbiota remodeling, and environmental cues are involved in IBD pathogenesis. Up to now, there are limited treatment options for IBD, so better therapies for IBD are eagerly needed. The therapeutic effects of naturally occurring compounds have been extensively investigated, among which quercetin becomes an attractive candidate owing to its unique biochemical properties. To facilitate the clinical translation of quercetin, we aimed to get a comprehensive understanding of the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying the anti-IBD role of quercetin. We summarized that quercetin exerts the anti-IBD effect through consolidating the intestinal mucosal barrier, enhancing the diversity of colonic microbiota, restoring local immune homeostasis, and restraining the oxidative stress response. We also delineated the effect of quercetin on gut microbiome and discussed the potential side effects of quercetin administration. Besides, quercetin could serve as a prodrug, and the bioavailability of quercetin is improved through chemical modifications or the utilization of effective drug delivery systems. Altogether, these lines of evidence hint the feasibility of quercetin as a candidate compound for IBD treatment.

Background: Trichinellosis is an important food-borne zoonosis, and no effective treatments are yet available. Nod-like receptor plays a critical role in the host response against nematodes. Therefore, we aimed to explore the role of the NLRP3 inflammasome (NLRP3) during the adult, migrating, and encysted stages of Trichinella spiralis (T. spiralis) infection. Methods: The mice were treated with the specific NLRP3 inhibitor MCC950 after inoculation with T. spiralis. Then, NLRP3 plays the role in T. spiralis-infected mice were evaluated using ELISA, Western blotting, Flow cytometry, Histopathological evaluation, Bone marrow-derived macrophage (BMDM) stimulation and immunofluorescenceResults: The in vivo results showed that NLRP3 enhanced the Th1 immune response in the adult stage and the migrating stage and weakened the Th2 immune response in the encysted stage. NLRP3 promoted the release of proinflammatory factors (INF-γ) and suppressed the release of anti-inflammatory factors (IL-4). Pathological changes were also improved in the absence of NLRP3 in mice during T. spiralis infection. Importantly, a significant reduction in adult worm burden and muscle larvae burden at 7 and 35 days post infection was observed in mice treated with the specific NLRP3 inhibitor MCC950. In vitro, we first demonstrated that NLRP3 in macrophages can be activated by T. spiralis proteins and promotes IL-1β and IL-18 release. Conclusions: This study revealed that the NLRP3 is involved in the host response to T. spiralis infection and that targeted inhibition of NLRP3 enhanced the Th2 response and accelerated T. spiralis expulsion. These findings may help in the development of protocols for controlling trichinellosis.

Objective: This study aims to use loperamide by gavage in SD rats to establish the model of STC, and evaluate the degree of similarity between the model and clinical diseases. Furthermore, the effect of electro-acupuncture when stimulating BL32 acupoints in SD rats with slow transit constipation were observed to determine changes in intestinal transmission function. Methods: Thirty SD rats were selected and divided randomly into three groups. Rats in the model group were given 2 mg/kg/d of loperamide tablets by gavage for 15 days. The morphology of the feces of rats was observed, and the dry weight of the feces and the time of first black feces movement with black ink by gavage after molding were measured. After 20 days of electro-acupuncture treatment at the BL32 acupoint, the time of first black feces movement, the ratio of black ink length of the entire length of the intestine, and contraction amplitude and frequency of contraction were measured. Results: The time of black feces movement in the two model groups was significantly prolonged (P P th and 20th day of treatment, the time of black feces movement in the treatment group significantly decreased (P P P Conclusion: Through loperamide gavage, the model of slow transit constipation in SD rats was successfully established in a relatively short period of time. Electro-acupuncture treatment had a rapid onset of action, and its mechanism might have been caused through strengthening the ability of intestinal smooth muscle contraction, and are independent with increased smooth muscle contraction frequency.

Transition metal-catalyzed enantioselective C–H functionalization has emerged as an efficient and powerful strategy to access various chiral molecules. Recently, this strategy has also provided a complementary pathway to the construction of P- and S-stereogenic compounds. This paper studies the distributed state estimator design method for periodic systems with time-varying delays and periodic communication scheduling strategy over sensor networks. To mitigate the stability attenuation and the performance loss caused by delays, a periodic delay-dependent Lyapunov function is constructed, which relaxes the conservatism and improves the ${H_\infty }$ performance of the estimators. Then, a periodic scheduling strategy, which updates the correlative innovations of each node during a period in an average way by solving an integer programming problem, is proposed to save energy. Periodic gains of distributed estimators are designed by using analog tool. Finally, a visual example is utilized to describe the periodic communication scheduling. The effectiveness of the strategy and the novel Lyapunov function is demonstrated by the example.

Background During the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic, a nucleic acid test is frequently conducted to identify positive cases. Compared with a hospital-based strategy, whole-community nucleic acid testing displays a unique advantage in rapid screening of a massive population. Yet a management plan to ensure ample and contamination-free sample collection is lacking. The objective of the current study was to establish an efficient operational mode of whole-community nucleic acid testing by management of a sample collection team and to provide a reference for joint prevention work to contain the spread of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2. Methods The efficient operation of nucleic acid testing within the community was implemented by urgent setting up of sample collection teams, efficient allocation of medical supplies, optimization of management procedures and coordination among multiple working departments. Results A total of 21 585 nucleic acid samples were collected within 3 d, while no one was missed or experienced a cross infection. No falls, heatstroke, disputes or other adverse events occurred. Conclusions Under the emergency setting of nucleic acid testing of a large population, a management system with orderly organization, clear division of responsibilities and standardized operational procedures should be formulated.

Trichinellosis is a serious zoonotic parasitic disease caused by Trichinella spiralis (T. spiralis) that causes considerable economic losses for the global pig breeding and food industries. As such, there is an urgent need for a vaccine that can prevent T. spiralis infection. Previous studies have reported that recombinant invasive Lactococcus lactis (LL) expressing Staphylococcus aureus fibronectin binding protein A (LL-FnBPA+) can transfer DNA vaccines directly to dendritic cells (DCs) across an epithelial cell monolayer, leading to significantly higher amounts of heterologous protein expression compared to non-invasive Lactococcus lactis. In this study, the invasive bacterium Lactiplantibacillus plantarum (L. plantarum) expressing FnBPA was used as a carrier to deliver a novel oral DNA vaccine consisting of T. spiralis adult putative serine protease (Ts-ADpsp) and murine interleukin (IL)-4 DNA to mouse intestinal epithelial cells. Experimental mice were orally immunized 3 times at 10-day intervals. At 10 days after the last vaccination, mice were challenged with 350 T. spiralis infective larvae by oral inoculation. Immunization with invasive L. plantarum harboring pValac-Ts-ADpsp/pSIP409-FnBPA induced the production of anti-Ts-ADpsp-specific IgG of serum, type 1 and 2 helper T cell cytokines of mesenteric lymph node (MLN) and spleen, secreted (s) IgA of intestinal lavage, and decreased T. spiralis burden and intestinal damage compared to immunization with non-invasive L. plantarum expressing Ts-ADpsp (pValac-Ts-ADpsp/pSIP409). Thus, invasive L. plantarum expressing FnBPA and IL-4 stimulates both mucosal and cellular immune response to protect against T. spiralis infection, highlighting its therapeutic potential as an effective DNA vaccine for trichinellosis.

This paper studies the finite-time synchronization for coupled neural networks with jumping inner coupling and non-fragile controller. A hidden-Markov observation model that covers many relevant Markovian jumping cases is applied to describe a more general situation where the synchronization controller has limited capability and partial modes observations. In terms of the hidden-Markov observations, a sufficient condition on the finite-time synchronization boundness is firstly derived by constructing a mode-dependent Lyapunov function for the augmented synchronization error system. Then an LMI framework is proposed for designing non-fragile synchronization controller gains. Finally, the effectiveness and the validity are demonstrated by a numerical example.

In this paper, the distributed $H_{\infty}$ state estimators are designed for discrete-time stochastic periodic systems with randomly occurred uncertainties and topology-dependent quantizers over sensor networks. A norm-bounded uncertain model is introduced to describe the randomly occurred norm-bounded parameter uncertainties, where each component of the system occurs uncertainty independently. According to the changeable topologies of the sensor networks, a topology-dependent quantizer is proposed to enhance the channel utilization. Sufficient conditions are established to ensure the asymptotic stability and the $H_{\infty}$ performance simultaneously for the augmented estimation error system. Then the gains of estimators are derived in every period. Finally, the average of one thousand simulations are depicted in the figures. Moreover, simulation comparisons are given to explain the quantizer design method.

The compound [(CH3)2CH-C3H17N][CoBr4] (1) based on quinuclidine derivatives was achieved by the solution synthetic method and characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy, single-crystal X-ray structural analysis and dielectric measurement, respectively. Variable-temperature single-crystal X-ray diffraction suggested that the compound underwent the phase transition from the space group C2/c to Cc. The polarization curve was measured using the Sawyer-Tower circuit. The structural phase transitions of 1 was ascribed to the distortion of a [(CH3)2CH-C3H17N]2+ cation from this inorganic–organic hybrid material [(CH3)2CH-C3H17N][CoBr4]. The strong change in dielectric anomalies makes compound 1 a suitable candidate for promising switchable dielectric materials. This work represents a feasible strategy thought for the targeted harvesting of low temperature ferroelectrics.

Fragments of four candidate reference genes of Aphelenchoides besseyi, including actin, glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH), ubiquitin conjugating-3 enzyme (UBC) and alpha-tubulin (α-tubulin) were cloned from the transcriptome database of A. besseyi. The expression level of these four candidate reference genes and a commonly used reference gene of A. besseyi (18S rRNA) in three experimental conditions, including the four life stages (female, male, juvenile and egg) of two populations and the mixed-stage nematodes of four populations with different origins and hosts were analyzed by RT-qPCR. The expression stability of the five candidate reference genes under the three experimental conditions was analyzed by ΔCt, geNorm, NormFinder and RefFinder respectively. The analysis results of ΔCt, geNorm, NormFinder and RefFinder all indicated that UBC was the gene with the highest average ranking of stability. In conclusion, the expression stability of UBC was optimal under the three experimental conditions, indicating that UBC could be used as a suitable reference gene instead of 18S rRNA in the RT-qPCR analysis for A. besseyi.

Organic-inorganic ABX3 (A, B = cations, X = anion) hybrids with perovskite structure have recently attracted tremendous interest due to their structural tunability and rich functional properties, such as ferroelectricity. However, ABX3 hybrid ferroelectrics with other structures have rarely been reported. Here, we successfully designed an ABX3 hybrid ferroelectric [(CH3)3NCH2F]ZnCl3 with a spontaneous polarization of 4.8 μC/cm2 by the molecular modification of [(CH3)4N]ZnCl3 through hydrogen/halogen substitution. It is the first zinc halide ABX3 ferroelectric, which contains one-dimensional [ZnCl3]-n chains of corner-sharing ZnCl4 tetrahedra, distinct from the anionic framework of corner-sharing or face-sharing BX6 octahedra in the ABX3 perovskites. From zero dimension to one dimension, the high symmetry of ZnCl4 tetrahedra is broken, and all of them align along one direction to form a polar [ZnCl3]-n chain, beneficial to the generation of ferroelectricity. This finding provides an efficient polar anionic framework for enriching the family of hybrid ferroelectrics by assembling with various cations and should inspire further exploration of new classes of organic-inorganic ABX3 ferroelectrics.

Inorganic solids are a kind of important catalysts, and their activities usually come from sparse active sites, which are structurally different from inactive bulk. Therefore, the rational optimization of activity depends on studying these active sites. Copper is a widely used catalyst and is expected to be a promising catalyst for the electroreduction of CO 2 to C 2 H 4 . Here, we report a conductive dinuclear cuprous complex with a short Cu···Cu contact for the electroreduction of CO 2 to C 2 H 4 . By using 1 H -[1,10]phenanthrolin-2-one and Cu(I) ions, a dinuclear cuprous complex [Cu 2 (ophen) 2 ] (Cuophen) with a remarkable conductivity (3.9 × 10 −4 S m −1 ) and a short intramolecular Cu···Cu contact (2.62 Å) was obtained. Such a short Cu···Cu contact is close to the distance of 2.54 Å between 2 adjacent Cu atoms in the edge of the copper(100)/(111) plane. Detailed examination of Cuophen revealed a high activity for the electroreduction of CO 2 to C 2 H 4 with a Faradaic efficiency of 55(1)% and a current density of 580 mA cm −2 , and no obvious degradation was observed over 50 h of continuous operation. Comparing the properties and mechanisms of Cuophen and 2 other copper complexes with different Cu···Cu distances, we found that the shorter Cu···Cu distance is conducive not only for a *CO species to bridge 2 copper ions into a more stable intermediate transition state but also for C–C coupling.

Homoharringtonine (HHT), an Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved anti-leukemia drug, exerts anti-tumor activity in several solid tumors, including colorectal cancer (CRC). However, its mechanism of action in CRC progression has not been comprehensively elucidated. The drug-disease targets were obtained using publicly available databases. Protein–protein interaction (PPI) network, Gene ontology (GO) function and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment were performed to reveal the core targets, biological processes and signaling pathways of HHT against CRC. Cell and animal experiments were performed to validate the inhibitory effects of HHT on CRC. A total of 98 overlapping target genes of HHT and CRC were predicted. Through PPI network and topology analysis, we screened out 23 hub genes. Enrichment assays showed 163 biological processes (BP), 18 cell components (CC), 35 molecular functions (MF), and 85 related pathways. Functionally, HHT inhibited CRC cell proliferation, cell cycle progression, colony formation, migration and invasion, and promoted apoptosis. HHT treatment resulted in the inactivation of PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling in CRC cells. Moreover, activation of PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling by 740Y-P abated the suppressive effects of HHT on cell malignant phenotypes. Furthermore, HHT repressed CRC tumor growth in nude mice. Our current study demonstrated that HHT repressed CRC progression at least partly by inactivating PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathways, highlighting HHT as a potential therapeutic agent for CRC patients.

In this article, the cluster synchronization control problem is studied for discrete-time complex dynamical networks when the data transmission is subject to constrained bit rate. A bit-rate model is presented to quantify the limited network bandwidth, and the effects from the constrained bit rate onto the control performance of the cluster synchronization are evaluated. A sufficient condition is first proposed to guarantee the ultimate boundedness of the error dynamics of the cluster synchronization, and then, a bit-rate condition is established to reveal the fundamental relationship between the bit rate and the certain performance index of the cluster synchronization. Subsequently, two optimization problems are formulated to design the desired synchronization controllers with aim to achieve two distinct synchronization performance indices. The codesign issue for the bit-rate allocation protocol and the controller gains is further discussed to reduce the conservatism by locally minimizing a certain asymptotic upper bound of the synchronization error dynamics. Finally, three illustrative simulation examples are utilized to validate the feasibility and effectiveness of the developed synchronization control scheme.

RNA interference (RNAi) is a powerful tool for the analysis of gene function in nematodes. Fatty acid and retinol binding protein (FAR) is a protein that only exists in nematodes and plays an important role in their life activities. The rice white-tip nematode (RWTN), Aphelenchoides besseyi, is a migratory endoparasitic plant nematode that causes serious damage in agricultural production. In this study, the expression levels of eight RWTN genes were effectively decreased when RWTN was fed Ab-far-n (n: 1–8) hairpin RNA transgenic Botrytis cinerea (ARTBn). These functions of the far gene family were identified to be consistent and diverse through phenotypic changes after any gene was silenced. Such consistency indicates that the body lengths of the females were significantly shortened after silencing any of the eight Ab-far genes. The diversities were mainly manifested as follows: (1) Reproduction of nematodes was clearly inhibited after Ab-far-1 to Ab-far-4 were silenced. In addition, silencing Ab-far-2 could inhibit the pathogenicity of nematodes to Arabidopsis, (2) gonad length of female nematodes was significantly shortened after Ab-far-2 and Ab-far-4 were silenced, (3) proportion of male nematodes significantly increased in the adult population after Ab-far-1, Ab-far-3, and Ab-far-5 were silenced, whereas the proportion of adult nematodes significantly decreased in the nematode population after Ab-far-4 were silenced. (4) Fat storage of nematodes significantly decreased after Ab-far-3, Ab-far-4, and Ab-far-7 were silenced. To our knowledge, this is the first study to demonstrate that Ab-far genes affect sex formation and lipid metabolism in nematodes, which provides valuable data for further study and control of RWTNs.

This paper studies the synchronization issue of time-varying Markovian jump neural networks (NNs). The denial-of-service (DoS) attack is considered in the communication channel connecting master NNs and slave NNs. An observer is designed based on the measurements of master NNs transmitted over this unreliable channel to estimate their states. The deception attack is used to destroy the controller by changing the sign of the control signal. Then, the mixed-type attacks are expressed uniformly, and a synchronization error system is established using this function. A finite-horizon $l_{2}-l_\infty $ performance is proposed, and sufficient conditions are derived to ensure that the synchronization error system satisfies this performance. The controllers are then obtained by a recursive linear matrix inequality algorithm. At last, a simulation result to show the feasibility of the developed results is given.

To establish the amplification and detection system for the chrysanthemum foliar nematode (CFN), Aphelenchoides ritzemabosi, the loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP), which includes two external primers (F3/B3), two inner primers (FIP/BIP) and one loop primer (LF), was designed based on the CFN 18S ribosomal RNA gene. The DNA samples were amplified by LAMP primers using isothermal amplification (65 °C). The amplified products were detected by electrophoresis and visual inspection of fluorescent dyes. Detection of CFN in a sample was confirmed when the electrophoresis results show a DNA ladder or the mixtures in the tubes showed green fluorescence. The results showed that the LAMP method could not only detect and identify a single female, male, juvenile and egg of CFN but also directly detect CFN in mixed nematode species samples and plant tissue samples. The sensitivity of the LAMP assay was 100-fold dilution of single nematode DNA.

Novel high temperature phase transition compound (CH3-DabcoH2-CH3)·MI4(M = Zn,Co) was synthesized by solution evaporation method, and its structure have been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The two compounds are isomorphous. DSC, variable-temperature structural analysis, TGA and dielectric measurements revealed that compounds 1 and 2 underwent a reversible phase transition at ca. 293.5 K and ca. 321.7 K, respectively. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction date suggests that they reversibly transformed from the LTP space group of P21/n to the HTP space group of P21/m. By analyzing the spatial structure of the compounds 1 and 2, the most important factor in the phase transitions is the relative displacement of its internal atoms.

Trichinellosis is a food-borne zoonotic parasitic disease that causes serious harm to human health and the pig breeding industry. However, there are reports that Trichinella spiralis (T. spiralis) infection can treat autoimmune diseases, including enteritis and experimental autoimmune encephalitis (EAE). However, research on the mechanism of T. spiralis infection in infectious enteritis has not been fully elucidated. Therefore, this experiment used Citrobacter rodentium (C. rodentium) to induce colitis in mouse models and explored its underlying mechanisms. In this experiment, a total of 72 C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into four groups. Experimental mice in the TS and TS + CR groups were orally inoculated with individual T. spiralis larvae. At 21 days postinfection (dpi) with T. spiralis, experimental animals in the CR and TS + CR groups were inoculated by orogastric gavage with C. rodentium. The control group received PBS only. The results indicated that the weight loss and macroscopic and microscopic colon damage of mice in the TS + CR group were significantly decreased compared with those observed in the CR group. Ru(II)-catalyzed enantioselective C-H functionalization involving an enantiodetermining C-H cleavage step remains undeveloped. Here we describe a Ru(II)-catalyzed enantioselective C-H activation/annulation of sulfoximines with α-carbonyl sulfoxonium ylides using a novel class of chiral binaphthyl monocarboxylic acids as chiral ligands, which can be easily and modularly prepared from 1,1'-binaphthyl-2,2'-dicarboxylic acid. A broad range of sulfur-stereogenic sulfoximines were prepared in high yields with excellent enantioselectivities (up to 99% yield and 99% ee) via desymmetrization, kinetic resolution, and parallel kinetic resolution. Radopholus similis is a migratory endoparasitic nematode that is extremely harmful to host plants. Venom allergen-like proteins (VAPs) are members of the cysteine-rich secretory protein family that are widely present in plants and animals. In this study, we cloned a VAP gene from R. similis, designated as RsVAP. RsVAP contains an open reading frame of 1089 bp encoding 362 amino acids. RsVAP is specifically expressed in the esophageal gland, and the expression levels of RsVAP are significantly higher in juveniles than in other life stages of R. similis. This expression pattern of RsVAP was consistent with the biological characteristics of juveniles of R. similis, which have the ability of infection and are the main infection stages of R. similis. The pathogenicity and reproduction rate of R. similis in tomato was significantly attenuated after RsVAP was silenced. In tobacco leaves transiently expressing RsVAP, the pathogen-associated molecular pattern-triggered immunity (PTI) induced by a bacterial flagellin fragment (flg22) was inhibited, while the cell death induced by two sets of immune elicitors (BAX and Gpa2/RBP-1) was repressed. The RsVAP-interacting, ras-related protein RABA1d (LeRabA1d) was identified in tomato hosts by yeast two-hybrid and co-immunoprecipitation assays. RsVAP may interact with LeRabA1d to affect the host defense response, which in turn facilitates nematode infection. This study provides the first evidence for the inhibition of plant defense response by a VAP from migratory plant-parasitic nematodes, and, for the first time, the target protein of R. similis in its host was identified.

Trichinellosis is a significant food-borne zoonotic parasitic disease caused by parasite Trichinella. Given the side effects of anti-Trichinella drugs (e.g., Mebendazole) aroused in the course of treatments, an effective vaccine against the parasite is called for. The therapies available to date are in most instances targeting a single stage of Trichinella, resulting in an incomplete protective immunity against the parasite in terms of the complexity of its developmental stages. In this study, a recombinant dual-expression double anchor vector NC8-pLp-TsNd-S-pgsA′-gp43 was constructed carrying two antigen genes from Trichinella spiralis (T. spiralis), encoding the gp43 and T. spiralis Nudix hydrolase (TsNd) proteins which were mainly expressed in muscle larva (ML) and intestinal infective larva stages of the parasite respectively. These two proteins were to be expressed by Lactobacillus plantarum NC8 (L. plantarum NC8) which was designed to express the two anchored peptides, a truncated poly-γ-glutamic acid synthetase A (pgsA′) and the surface layer protein of Lactobacillus acidophilus (SlpA), on its surface for attaching expressed foreign proteins. Oral immunization with the above recombinant vaccine induced higher levels of specific serum IgG and mucosal secretory IgA (SIgA) in BALB/c mice. In addition, cytokines, interferon-γ (IFN- γ), interleukin-4 (IL-4) and IL-17 released by lymphocytes, and CD4+ levels displayed on the surfaces of splenic and mesenteric lymph cells were significantly enhanced by the vaccination. Moreover, after larval challenges, a 75.67 % reduction of adult worms (AW) at 7 days post-infection (dpi) and 57.14 % reduction of ML at 42 dpi were observed in mice immunized with the recombinant vaccine. Furthermore, this oral vaccination reduced the counts of encysted larvae presented in tongue and masseter muscles after infected with T. spiralis in mice. The overall results demonstrated that the recombinant vaccine developed in this study could induce specific humoral, mucosal, and cellular immune responses, and provides protections against different stages (adult worms and muscle larva) of T. spiralis infections in BALB/c mice, which could make it a promising oral vaccine candidate against trichinellosis.
