Music education is a subject that is generally thought to have much physical activity involved. However, virtual learning has been mandatary applied to most schools worldwide due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The landscape of music learning has had to be switched to online distance learning (ODL), where students learn music virtually using technological tools. Gifted students are among those affected by the implementation of music ODL throughout 2020. Thus, the purpose of this study is to identify the effectiveness of music ODL on gifted students’ motivation. The researchers framed this quantitative study by involving 81 secondary gifted students, aged 13 years, from 13 states in Malaysia. The sample was selected through random sampling, and a preexperimental design was applied to conduct the study. Respondents had been exposed to the music ODL intervention for a month. Data were collected through an adapted questionnaire, namely, the MUSIC Inventory, with a five-point scale. Data were further analysed by descriptive and inferential statistics, integrating two-way MANOVA, using SPSS Statistics version 23. Results reveal that an ODL approach to music classes is significantly effective to enhance gifted students’ motivation domains of empowerment, usefulness, success, interest, and caring. Yet, no significant difference was found in gifted students’ genders and locations on the four domains. Different approaches in music teaching could be further explored for music ODL to gifted students in future studies.

Halda River (HR), the lone natural carp breeding ground in Bangladesh as well as in Southeast Asia is an economically important river and its water quality is deteriorating due to unplanned industrialization and various anthropogenic activities. The present research work has been conducted to assess the characteristics of HR water. Eighteen water quality parameters were studied including pH, temperature, Dissolved Oxygen (DO), Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Total Dissolved Solids, Electrical Conductivity, Hardness, Turbidity, Total Alkalinity, SO42-, PO43-, NO3-, Cl-, NH4+, Cr (VI), Mn (II) and Arsenic. This study shows that water in HR is regularly alkaline and its pH lies between 7.08-7.65. The DO value varies from 5.9-8.4 mgL-1, BOD ranged from 0.3-2.8 mgL-1 and COD from 24-96 mgL-1. According to the Water Quality Index study, the river is being intensely polluted due to the unscrupulous industrial wastes discharge into the HR through various canals.

This paper represents a theoretical and an experimental study of the spreading dynamics of a liquid droplet, generated by a needle free deposition system called the liquid needle droplet deposition technique. This technique utilizes a continuous liquid jet generated from a pressurized dosing system which generates a liquid drop on a substrate to be characterized by optical contact angle measurements. Although many studies have explored the theoretical modelling of the droplet spreading scenario, a theoretical model representing the spreading dynamics of a droplet, generated by the jet impact and continuous addition of liquid mass, is yet to be addressed. In this study, we developed a theoretical model based on the overall energy balance approach which enables us to study on the physics of variation of droplet spreading under surrounding medium of various viscosities. The numerical solution of the non-linear ordinary differential equation has provided us the opportunity to comment on the variation of droplet spreading, as a function of Weber number ($We$), Reynolds number ($Re$) and Bond number ($Bo$) ranging from 0.5-3, 75-150, and 0.001-0.3, respectively. We have also presented a liquid jet impact model in order to predict the initial droplet diameter as an initial condition for the proposed governing equation. The model has been verified further with the experimental measurements and reasonable agreement has been observed. Experimental observations and theoretical investigations also highlight the precision, repeatability and wide range of the applicability of liquid needle drop deposition technique.

Learning is the act of acquiring new, or reinforcing existing knowledge, characters, skills, and values, affecting a potential change of the learners towards nurturing creativity and innovation. The 21st-century learning framework from the 21st-Century Partnership, 2002 and the component of the Four-Dimensional Education written by Fadel, Bialik & Trilling 2015, have in common in the aspect of designing instructions for the implementation of the 21st-century learning. It is a challenge for the teachers to design the instruction in fulfilling the requirements. Thus, this concept paper introduces The Collaborative Instructional Design System (CIDS) 2017, developed as a solution towards the challenges. CIDS comprises of the Integral ASIE Instructional Design Model developed by Ismail, & Balakrishnan 2016 (the transformational ID Model), and special features on the Professional Learning Community (PLC). PLC is a 'global hub' for connecting teachers meeting with members of various communities around the world virtually that foster and build high-quality human capital for future prosperity. Information about the development and issues of job opportunities in the world and the successes and challenges faced by the industries especially relating to the Fourth Industrial Revolution - IR4.0, can create awareness which further motivates learners to commit themselves with confidence in pursuing their goals. CIDS is a constructive process in designing the instructions, which provides practitioners in education a valuable tool and perspective in enhancing the quality of instructions and training towards visualizing the 21st-century learning requirements for all learners. An effective and systematic design of instruction will determine the quality of learning and teaching practices. Hence, instructional design models are required, to move from just adopting a standard approach to developing models that have an impact on learners' profiles, creating a much better learning experience, skills, and knowledge both in the classroom and online. The 21st Century Learning Framework requires learners to develop their thinking skills, communication skills, collaborating skills and enhancing their creativity, (4Cs) towards establishing "globally competitive learners." An Integral ASIE Instructional Design Model is an innovative 21st Century teachers' designing tool that provides a solution to the above challenges. The Model assist teachers in Planning, Utilizing and Sharing (PLUS) instructions with others across nations. It promotes the Professional Learning Community practices where educationist, stakeholders, parents, and corporates work collaboratively ensuring its quality and sustainability in addressing the future employability issues of the learners. Results from 5 Likert Scales Questionnaires given to teachers in workshops and pilot project conducted, shows positive views on the model.

Title: The Rohingya Muslims’ Crisis in the Rakhine State of Myanmar: ‘Recognition as Toleration’ and ‘Religious Toleration’ Abstract: The inhuman annihilation of the Rohingya people from the Rakhine state by the Myanmar military and the Buddhist majority, which is supported by the Myanmar government as they watched the massacre silently, could be considered as genocide. Ashley Kinseth claims: “in terms of rate of escalation, this is the greatest mass exodus - and has the makings to become the most significant humanitarian catastrophe - since the 1994 Rwandan genocide, when over 800,000 Hutus and moderate Tutsis were slaughtered.” The main reason of this massacre, as claimed by the Myanmar state officials, was an “armed attack by a Rohingya group, the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army, against more than 20 Myanmar police stations and an army base on Aug 25, 2017” (Beyrer and Kamarulzaman 1570), “killing 12 members of Myanmar’s security forces” (Gibbens). But there are other issues, such as political, religious, economic, ethnic, etc., which actually motivate the Myanmar military and the Buddhists (the majority religious group in Myanmar) to kill and dislocate the Rohingya from their Rakhine state. The paper examines the current Rohingya Muslims’ crisis in Myanmar while investigating the Buddhist Burmese’s underlying religious discourses in displacing the Rohingya from the Rakhine state. In doing so, this paper analyzes the current massacre in relation to Anna E. Galeotti’s theory on ‘toleration as recognition’ and Locke’s ‘theory on toleration,’ particularly in regards what Locke has forwarded as ‘religious toleration’ in his canonical Letters to figure out the suitability of either of them for a possible solution to the crisis.

Design of instruction is an important feature in teacher education at fulfilling the needs of 4Cs (critical thinker, communicator, collaborator, creator) developing "a globally competitive learners". As Instructional design models (ID) need to move from adopting a standard approach to developing models that have an impact on learners profiles, creating a much better learning experience, skills and knowledge both in classroom and online. Traditional ID models will have to be re-modelled and re-designed to deliver instructions which are more learner-centered than process-centered. An Integral ASIE Instructional Design Model (Analyze, Strategize, Implement and Evaluate) is an online planning ID Model which serves as alternative to the existing traditional ID models which support experiential and collaborative learning for learners in gaining and re-producing information. It is interactive to the user, integrative in planning the content, prescriptive in the planning procedures and constructive in the organization of the components. Malaysia has achieved a significant economic and social progress over the past several decades through the implementation of First Malaysia Plan (1966-1970) to Ninth Malaysia Plan (2006-2010). Further the Government of Malaysia aims at achieving high income nation status by 2020 (VISION 2020).With the global economy becoming more competitive and challenging, in the year 2010, Government of Malaysia has embarked on comprehensive economic agenda known as Economic Transformation Programme (ETP) that builds on the directions outlined in Tenth Malaysia Plan to transform the Malaysian Economy. ETP focusses on 12 National Key Economic Areas (NKEA) which are key growth engines that are expected to contribute substantially to Malaysian economic performance. ETP also compliments the existing programmes with similar objectives viz., 1Malaysia (People First-Performance Now), Government Transformation Programme (GTP), New Economic Model (NEM) and 10th Malaysia Plan (2011-2015).The initiation of Greater Kuala Lumpur / Klang Valley under economic transformation programme by Government of Malaysia has resulted in rapid growth in urbanisation, transportation, infrastructure, and construction industry sectors beside others. Food insecurity is one of the burning issues in the world in general and in the developing, and under developed countries in particular. Food insecurity explained a situation when people fail to manage minimum amount of food for active and healthy living. The status of food insecurity measures on the basis of various dimensions and it may be measures at household level, individual level and community level. The present paper attempts to measures the status of food insecurity among Muslim households because Muslim is one of the important and most vulnerable communities in India. The entire study is based upon the primary data. More than 63 per cent Muslim households are food insecure in the study area. The paper tries to find out the relation between food insecurity and its determiners.

Due to the growing need of sustainable energy technologies, wind energy is gaining more popularity day by day. For micro power generation vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) is preferred due to its simplicity and easy to install characteristics. This study investigates the effects of profile-modification on a NACA0015 aerofoil used in VAWTs. The profile-modifications being investigated consist of a combination of inward semi-circular dimple and Gurney flap at the lower surface of the aerofoil. The study also uses a Response Surface Analysis (RSA) based fully automated optimization technique to maximize the average torque produced by the wind turbine blade. The data set used in the RSA optimization is generated using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations. In order to ensure reliability, the model used in the CFD simulations is validated against previous experimental results. The optimized shape of the modified aerofoil is shown to improve in the aerodynamics of the wind turbine blade under both static and dynamic conditions.

The semiconductor (or IC for integrated circuit) temperature sensor is an electronic device fabricated in a similar way to other modern electronic semiconductor components such as microprocessors, diode, transistors, capacitors and etc. There are few temperature sensors being used in nowadays i.e diode type and threshold voltage (V T ) extractor type. Normally hundreds or thousands of devices are formed on single thin silicon wafers. These sensors share a number of characteristics — linear outputs, relatively small size, limited temperature range (-40 to +120°C typical), low cost, good accuracy if calibrated but also poor interchangeability. Often the semiconductor temperature sensors are not well designed thermally, with the semiconductor chip not always in good thermal contact with an outside surface. Some devices are inclined to oscillate unless precautions are taken. Provided the limitations of the semiconductor temperature sensors are understood, they can be used effectively in many applications. The most popular semiconductor temperature sensors are based on the fundamental temperature and current characteristics of the transistor. In this paper, the V T extractor type sensor is going to be discussed and the characterization of output voltage to temperature scale will be show. The sensors are calibrated based on environment effect and use water as a medium to translate the temperature to voltage. Also, two kind of circuit being used i.e flex circuit and dual layer PCB. The comparison between these two approaches described in full in this paper.

This study is a research programme on the implementation of quality management in the manufacturing industry culminating in an implementation framework detailing the order in which certain tools and techniques should be implemented. It is intended as a guideline to the industry in general and to the small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in particular. Many companies, especially SMEs, are confused and unable to decide where to start, what and when to implement certain tools and techniques in their total quality journey. With a quality initiatives' implementation plan, the short and long term training needs are automatically identified and its implementation mechanisms designed. It is acknowledged that given the uniqueness of each potential organisation, there is a need for a customised implementation through the critical diagnosis of its present strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. The study involved designing of a postal-survey questionnaire and mailing it to 1800 manufacturing companies in the Republic of Ireland. Questions were designed to capture information about the quality management practices and business results from supplier to manufacturing system to customer. Variables were categorised into seven items as used in the Malcolm Baldrige 1997 award criteria and scored using the scoring system practised by the award. The key findings point to the existence of a linear relationship between practice and performance. From the perspective of competitive advantage, firms are better off being big rather than small and with foreign partnership. Competitive sectors and those with larger export markets have better quality management practices and resulting performance are above industry average. Accreditation to ISO 9000 shows immediate short-term tangible benefits.
