Formation of gas hydrates are a serious concern in oil and gas production systems. The formation and possible deposition of hydrates usually occur in suitable conditions, specifically as the gas-phases of reservoir fluid interact with water molecules. Hydrate formation represents a significant risk to process safety as it can result in the plugging of both pipes and instruments. Hydrates typically form in process where light hydrocarbons, water vapor and low temperatures or high pressures are present. We have studied the conditions under which hydrates form, how formation may be prevented and what can be done once hydrates have formed.

With the increasing Urban population, the need for Internet of Things (IoT) based smart city applications, such as monitoring manhole covers (MC), becomes crucial. However, current MC monitoring systems lack full automation, have a short lifespan, and face design challenges from an IoT device perspective. In this study, we explore the use of compressive sensing (CS) to reduce power consumption in the analog-to-digital converter (ADC) of an IoT-based MC monitoring system, aiming to extend its lifetime. We propose two low-power analog chaotic oscillators as an alternative to the digital pseudo-random number generator (PRNG) commonly used in CS-based ADC's. The proposed systems are validated through temperature measurements, showing promising results. This research addresses circuit design challenges and improves system performance for long-term and efficient operation of IoT-based MC monitoring systems.

A new class of probes was synthesized using a simple and efficient synthetic protocol. These compounds (PTZ-6(a-e)) have the phenothiazine (PTZ) moiety as the electron donor (D) and substituted aldehydes along with the acrylonitrile group, which acts as the electron acceptor (A), thus making D-π-A push-pull system. The structures of the newly synthesized series of small organic target molecules PTZ-6(a-e) were investigated and confirmed by spectros-copic techniques. The optical/solvatochromic properties were studied in detail by UV-vis absorption and fluorescence spectroscopy, because the molecules have shown good solubility in organic solvents. The density functional theory (DFT) model with the CAM-B3LYP function is utilized to study the photophysical properties of the probes, as these probes exhibited orange-to-red emission. Optical band gap values ranged from 2.32 to 2.50 eV, and these probes exhibited good thermal stability with a melting temperature of 136 to 198 °C and a T5d temperature range from 335 to 354 °C. The cyclic voltammetry study confirms that the Eoxonset values of the target compounds are 0.80 eV. The quantum yields (Φ) of the probes are measured experimentally in ethanol and the Stokes shifts are observed to be in the range of 4846-9430 cm-1. People’s mental conditions are often reflected in their social media activity due to the internet's anonymity. Psychiatric issues are often detected through such activities and can be addressed in their early stages, potentially preventing the consequences of unattended mental disorders like depression and anxiety. In this paper, the authors have implemented machine learning models and used various embedding techniques to classify posts from the famous social media blog site Reddit as stressful and non-stressful. The dataset used contains user posts that can be analyzed to detect patterns in the social media activity of those diagnosed with mental disorders. This paper uses different NLP (Natural Language Processing) tools such as ELMo (Embeddings from Language Models) word embeddings, BERT (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers) tokenizers, and BoW (Bag of Words) approach to create word/sentence data that can be fed to machine learning models. The results of each method have been discussed. The results achieved a top F1 score of 0.76, a Precision score of 0.71, and a Recall of 0.74 using only the preprocessed texts and machine learning algorithms to classify the posts. The results achieved by this paper are significant and have the potential to be applied in real-world scenarios to analyze mental stress among social media users. Although this paper focuses on data from Reddit, the techniques used can be transferred to similar social media platforms and could help solve the growing mental health crisis.

Women’s empowerment is often defined to include aspects of agency, autonomy and choice, which in turn has consequences for facing intimate partner violence (IPV) and the ability of a woman to fulfil childcare responsibilities. This suggests that empowerment is directly and indirectly (via IPV) associated with child nutrition outcomes (CNOs), especially in South Asian countries where gendered norms may place the onus of childcare on mothers. We explore the interplay between empowerment, IPV and CNOs using nationally representative datasets from three South Asian countries—India, Nepal and Pakistan. We use a multivariate probit approach to investigate the direct and indirect effect of women’s empowerment and autonomy on child malnourishment (stunting, wasting and underweight). Across all countries, we find a strong statistically significant effect of improvements in decision-making power on increased likelihood of facing certain types of IPV. We also find a strong negative relationship between facing less severe violence in particular and CNOs across all countries, indicating that such violence experienced by mothers was detrimental to CNOs. Increasing women’s decision-making power within the household can help ameliorate adverse CNOs, and in India particularly, this increase in decision-making autonomy reduced the incidence of stunting and underweight children. The study concludes with limitations and directions for future work.

Effective garbage management is a key challenge faced by urban areas across the world Garbage dumping in unauthorized places is a common problem in most cities, and it poses a serious threat to public health and the environment. To address this issue, we propose a real-world surveillance platform that detects and reports instances of garbage dumping in unauthorized areas using vision-based action recognition techniques. Our approach involves training a deep neural network on a dataset of garbage dumping actions to recognize and classify instances of this behaviour in real-time video footage. The system operates in three stages detection, tracking, and classification. In the detection phase, we use object detection techniques to locate potential dumping events in video frames. In the tracking phase, we track the detected object across subsequent frames to obtain a trajectory that helps in understanding the context of the action. In the classification phase, we classify the action as garbage dumping or non-dumping using a convolutional neural network. Our system achieves an accuracy of 96.2% on a test dataset, demonstrating its effectiveness in detecting garbage dumping events in real-world surveillance scenarios. The proposed system can be integrated into existing surveillance infrastructure to improve the efficiency of garbage management systems and enhance public health and environmental protection.

Materials and Methods: Two batches of Changeri ghrita prepared using Murchita and Amurchit ghrita. Prepared Ghrita subjected to physico-chemical analysis. Result and Discussion: Specific gravity increased in Murchita ghrita. Refractive index, viscosity, saponification value, iodine values were increased. While acid value is decreased. Peroxide value is slightly increased. Unsaponifiable matter remains unchanged. There was change in organoleptic properties after Murchana. Physico-chemical changes have been occurring except in unsaponifiable matter and congealing point. Peroxide was present in both samples of Amurchit and Murchit Changeri ghrita. Saponification value was increased in Murchit Changeri Ghrita Conclusion: It can be concluded that antioxidants were added during Murchana. Murchana maintains stability of lipid preparation and offer good health impact, increases palatability.

Introduction: The prevalence of avascular necrosis (AVN) of the femoral head in sickle cell anemia is 50% whereas untreated cases lead to total hip replacement. The recent development in cellular therapy paves the way to utilize autologous adult live-cultured osteoblasts (AALCO) in the management of AVN of the femoral head secondary to sickle cell anemia. Case Report: We performed AALCO implantation in sickle cell anemia cases with AVN of the femoral head and were followed up for 6 months with the regular recording of visual analog score and modified Harris Hip Score. Conclusion: AALCO implantation for the management of AVN of the femoral head due to sickle cell anemia appears to be the biological management of choice as it results in pain reduction and improvement in function. Background: Thrombocytopenia is a frequent problem in neonatal sepsis and is among the most predictive, independent risk factors for sepsis-associated mortality. The present study was undertaken to correlate neonatal sepsis and thrombocytopenia in terms of severity, clinical course, organism specificity and outcome. Method: Total 384 neonates age Results: Male babies (55.86%), age 18 hrs (66.74%) make babies more prone to neonatal sepsis. The Commonest clinical features were not accepting feed (69.95%), lethargy (67.85%) and breathing difficulty (79.04%). Early onset sepsis (82.54%) and probable sepsis (40.26%) were more common and associated with preterm and LBW babies. Leucocytosis was seen in 64.57%, thrombocytopenia moderate degree 45.67% and severe degree 34.65%, MPV >12 69.11%, ANC 15 mm 72.16% and CRP positivity 28.60%. Severe degree thrombocytopenia (18 hrs (83.02%), maternal fever (83.09%) and gram-negative organism(61.29%). Leucopenia (Conclusion: Proper antenatal mother care, hygiene and early evaluation for illness can prevent early onset of sepsis in neonates. Specifically, through an in-silico screening process of 5109 MOFs using grand canonical Monte Carlo simulations, a customized MOF (referred as BIO-MOF-100) was selected and experimentally verified to be biologically stable, and capable of loading 3 anti-Tuberculosis drugs Rifampicin+Isoniazid+Pyrazinamide at 10% + 28% + 23% wt/wt (total 50% by weight). Notably, the customized BIO-MOF-100 delivery system cleared naturally Pyrazinamide-resistant Bacillus Calmette-Guérin, reduced growth of virulent Erdman infection in macaque macrophages 10-100-fold compared to soluble drugs in vitro and was also significantly reduced Erdman growth in mice. These data suggest that the methodology of identifying-synthesizing materials can be used to generate solutions for challenging applications such as simultaneous delivery of multiple, small hydrophilic and hydrophobic molecules in the same molecular framework.

Method: In this review, we present the method for interfacial synthesis of polypyrrole and its gold nanocomposites with varying concentrations of polymer. The bonding involved in the nanocomposites is understood from Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction studies confirmed the crystalline nature of the particles. Result: Scanning electron microscope and transmission electron microscopy studies showed that the spherical and globular nature of the particles is mutually connected to form nanocomposites compared with virgin polymer. Conclusion: Catalytic behavior of gold nanoparticles in polymer composites is observed from the thermal analysis.

Background: Mental Health Issues are not adequately addressed when it the comes to the burden of non-communicable disorders among PLHIV on ART. PLHIV often suffer from depression and anxiety during their quest to adjust to the diagnosis and face the difficulties of living with a chronic illness, of which permanent cure is yet to be discovered. Objective: To assess depression among HIV positive beneficiaries registered with Network of Surat People Living with HIV (NSP+) in Surat. Methods: A cross sectional study was conducted among 30 PLHIV on ART from Network of Surat People Living with HIV (NSP+). Becks Depression Inventory was applied to assess depression. Results: The mean BDI score among male participants was 25.6 (± 11.39) and that of female participants was 23 (± 12), nine male participants were classified as having moderate depression, three as severe, and 2 as extreme depression. Among females four participants were found to having mild mood disturbance while four were classified as having moderate depression, whereas only one participant was classified as having extreme depression (score of 53). Pearson’s correlation between CD4 count and BDI score was found to be -0.35. Conclusion: Though majority of the participants are in WHO clinical stage 1, yet all the participants had borderline or extreme depression. Males had lower CD4 count, higher proportion of OI and higher mean score of BDI. Lower the CD4 count higher the severity of depression.

We aim to assess the influence of obesity on gastroparesis (GP) hospitalizations in the United States (US).The National Inpatient Sample was analyzed from 2007-2017 to identify all adult hospitalizations with a primary discharge diagnosis of GP. They were subdivided based on the presence or absence of obesity (body mass index30). Hospitalization characteristics, procedural differences, all-cause inpatient mortality, mean length of stay (LOS), and mean total hospital charge (THC) were identified and compared.From 2007-2017, there were 140 293 obese GP hospitalizations accounting for 13.75% of all GP hospitalizations in the US. Obese GP hospitalizations were predominantly female (76.11% vs 64.36%,In the US, compared to non-obese, a higher proportion of obese GP hospitalizations were female and Blacks. Obese GP hospitalizations also had higher THC, LOS, and rates of upper endoscopy.
