The Internet of Things (IoT) in healthcare is the newest trend in the healthcare market. IoT allows healthcare providers to expand their reach beyond the usual clinical environment. They are driven to maximize the possibilities of digitally linked healthcare services to improve the user experience, diagnostic accuracy, and communication among healthcare professionals. Sensors, wearables, and health monitors have made healthcare cheaper, faster, and more effective. Despite the privileges of the IoT in healthcare services, the adoption rate of these services is still in the early stages. The aim of this research was to examine the adoption of IoT-enabled healthcare services among Malaysian chronic patients. To achieve this purpose, the study offered an integrated framework to investigate the influence of the identified factors on Behavioural Intention (BI) to adopt IoT healthcare services. The novelty lies in combining the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), the Theory of Organizational Environments for Technology Adoption (TOE), and the Social Exchange Theory (SE). Patients in Malaysia dealing with chronic illnesses were the subjects of an online survey. Eleven predicted predictive constructs' impacts were investigated using partial least square structural equation modeling. The findings revealed that individual and technological factors and their dimensions, significantly affected chronic disease patients’ BI toward IoT-healthcare services adoption. Similar results were observed for the effect of BI on Use Behaviour (UB). Meanwhile, trust partially mediated the effect of individual and technological-related factors on BI.

Objectives: In 2018, a nationwide mandatory switch from originator to biosimilar adalimumab was conducted in Denmark. The available biosimilar was GP2017 (Hyrimoz) in Eastern regions and SB5 (Imraldi) in Western regions. We aimed to assess the comparative effectiveness of GP2017 versus SB5 in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA)/psoriatic arthritis (PsA)/axial spondyloarthritis (AxSpA). Methods: Observational cohort study based on the DANBIO registry with geographical cluster pseudo-randomisation, analysed by emulating a randomised clinical trial. Main outcome was adjusted 1-year treatment retention (Cox regression). Furthermore, 6 months' remission rates (logistic regression), reasons for withdrawal and back-switching to originator were investigated (overall and stratified by indication). Results: Overall, of 1570 eligible patients, 1318 switched and were included (467 RA/321 PsA/530 AxSpA); 623 (47%) switched to GP2017, 695 (53%) to SB5. Baseline characteristics of the two clusters were largely similar, but some differences in registration practice were observed. The combined 1-year retention rate for the two biosimilars was 89.5%. Compared with SB5, estimated risk of withdrawal for GP2017 was lower (HR 0.60; 95% CI 0.42 to 0.86) and 6 months' remission rate was higher (OR 1.72; 95% CI 1.25 to 2.37). Stratified analyses gave similar results (statistically significant for RA). During 1 year, 8.5% and 12.9% withdrew GP2017 and SB5, respectively (primarily lack of effect and adverse events), of whom 48 patients (3.6%) back-switched. Conclusion: This head-to-head comparison of GP2017 versus SB5 following a mandatory switch from the originator indicated differences in effectiveness in routine care. This may reflect a true difference, but other explanations, for example, differences in excipients, differences between clusters and residual confounding cannot be ruled out.

Internet of things (IoT) has revolutionized how we utilize technology over the past decade. IoT’s rapid growth affects several fields, including the healthcare sector. As a result, the concept of smart healthcare or electronic healthcare (e-healthcare) has emerged. Smart healthcare promises to enhance people’s lives and wellbeing by monitoring them, offering an efficient connection, improving mobility, gathering medical data, and decreasing hospital and patient costs. IoT in healthcare is still one of the hot and trendy topics that needs in-depth investigation. No recent review has been conducted to elucidate the extent of research in the area, features of published papers, motives, and challenges in enabling IoT in healthcare systems. This study presents a comprehensive systematic review of the screened articles published between 2015 and 2022 pertaining to enabling IoT in healthcare services and applications. A total of 106 papers fulfilled the final inclusion criteria and were analyzed using systematic literature review (SLR). Two procedures were used to review the final articles: First, publications are examined in terms of study designs, publishing journals, and topics/study objectives. In the second approach, motives, challenges, and recommendations for enabling IoT in healthcare systems are explored. This article summarizes published studies on IoT in healthcare systems and its usage in smart healthcare service delivery. Based on the reviewed studies, recommendations for future research to enable the effective application of IoT in healthcare and service delivery are proposed.

This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a training program based on creative thinking skills in the development of self-concept among gifted and outstanding students in the Deanship of the preparatory year.In order to achieve the objectives of this study, three questions were answered. The sample consisted of (55) male and female students in the Deanship of the Preparatory Year at Imam Abdul Rahman Bin Faisal University. Moreover, a training program was designed based on creative thinking skills.It was applied to the members of the experimental group during the first and second semester of the academic year (2017/2018).The self-concept measure of Kilani and Abbas (1981) was applied on the control and experimental groups as pre and post scales by (6) training sessions each week to verify the effectiveness of the training program.After conducting the ANCOVA test, the study reached a set of results.In the light of these findings, the researchers recommend the need to pay attention to the skills of creative thinking and to conduct further studies on their use and benefit in all areas and at different stages of life.

Human scabies affects all social classes and different races around the world. It is highly contagious, but the exact figures on its prevalence are unknown. A 19-year-old male patient was admitted to the emergency room reporting fever (38°C) and multiple lesions throughout the body, except face, soles, and palms. Lesions were non-pruritic, which hampered the initial diagnostic suspicion. Skin biopsy was performed, and the final diagnosis was crusted scabies (Norwegian). It was concluded that human scabies is a significant epidemic disease, due to its different clinical manifestations, and because it is extremely contagious.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the G x E (genotype × environment) interaction using AMMI and GGE-biplot analysis for sugar yield of sugarcane genotypes and identify stable clones in the old sugar estates of Ethiopia. Eleven sugarcane clones plus one control clone were evaluated during three crop cycles (plant cane and first and second ratoon crops) in eight environments. The experiment was laid out as randomized complete block design with three replicates in over 3 years and locations. Adaptability and phenotypic stability of the sugarcane clones were evaluated using Additive main effects and multiplicative interaction (AMMI) and Genotype main effect and genotype x environment interaction (GGE). AMMI analyses revealed significant (P < 0.01) genotype and environmental effects as well as G × E with respect to sugar yield. In the analysis of variance, 48.8% of the sugar yield variation was explained by the environment, 16.9% by differences among genotypes, and 16.8% by GE interaction. GGE-biplot models showed that the eight environments used for the study belonged to two mega-environments. According to AMMI and the GGE results, clones G3 (FG05-424), the check variety G5 (NCO334), and G10 (FG06-750) were the most productive in tons of sugar per hectare and stable and recommended for the test environments.

Recent studies have shown a clinical benefit of lenalidomide, an oral immunomodulatory drug, plus dexamethasone in patients with relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma (MM). The most common grade 3-4 adverse events were cytopenias, fatigue, muscle cramps, rash, infection, insomnia, and venous thromboembolism. Lenalidomide in combination with dexamethasone has been approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration and the European Medicines Agency for the treatment of patients with MM who have received at least one prior therapy. An expert panel reviewed the efficacy and toxicity of lenalidomide plus dexamethasone, and provided recommendations on the management of patients receiving this treatment. Patient selection is straightforward, as prognostic factors do not appear to heavily influence efficacy. In addition, the panel agreed on strategies for the management of side effects. The recommendations presented here will aid the safe administration of lenalidomide, and avoid unnecessary dose reduction and discontinuation, thus assuring the best efficacy of treatment. In this dissertation a simplified nondimensional approach for the thermal analysis of power hybrid circuits is presented. The new technique uses only the metallization and the substrate as layers and represents everything below the substrate by an external thermal resistance (expressed as an equivalent convective heat transfer coefficient, h). In this study, the impact on thermal management of thick film metallization and copper cladding on alumina, aluminum nitride, and beryllia ceramic substrates is compared. The thermal conductivity of the substrate material, the thickness of the copper layer, the thermal resistance of the heat sink system, the size of the device, and the spacing between two heat dissipating devices are considered. The model results show that increasing the thickness of the copper layer can significantly decrease the device temperatures on alumina but may increase temperatures on high thermal conductivity substrates. Moreover, the model results show that increasing the thickness of the copper layer requires that the devices be placed farther apart to prevent thermal interaction. The results also demonstrate that the external heat sink resistance can have a significant impact on the heat flow paths and temperatures in the substrate. As the external resistance increases, the spacing required to prevent thermal interaction also increases. In addition to the above, a series of experiments were conducted on various hybrid circuits samples for a low and high heat sink external resistance, i.e., large and small convective heat transfer coefficients, respectively. These samples were constructed using thick film resistors as heat sources on alumina and beryllia substrates. The temperature rise was measured using infrared thermal imaging technique. These experimental results were compared to results predicted by the thermal model. In general, the model underpredicts or overpredicts the experimental temperature rise by 0-2 ·C and the agreement is within the experimental uncertainty of ±2°C. Ph. D.

Treatment of myeloma has benefited from the introduction of more effective and better tolerated agents, improvements in supportive care, better understanding of disease biology, revision of diagnostic criteria, and new sensitive and specific tools for disease prognostication and management. Assessment of minimal residual disease (MRD) in response to therapy is one of these tools, as longer progression-free survival (PFS) is seen consistently among patients who have achieved MRD negativity. Current therapies lead to unprecedented frequency and depth of response, and next-generation flow and sequencing methods to measure MRD in bone marrow are in use and being developed with sensitivities in the range of 10−5 to 10−6 cells. These technologies may be combined with functional imaging to detect MRD outside of bone marrow. Moreover, immune profiling methods are being developed to better understand the immune environment in myeloma and response to immunomodulatory agents while methods for molecular profiling of myeloma cells and circulating DNA in blood are also emerging. With the continued development and standardization of these methodologies, MRD has high potential for use in gaining new drug approvals in myeloma. The FDA has outlined two pathways by which MRD could be qualified as a surrogate endpoint for clinical studies directed at obtaining accelerated approval for new myeloma drugs. Most importantly, better understanding of MRD should also contribute to better treatment monitoring. On the last decade, crisis problem of electrical energy has been considered as one of the big problems around the world. In particular manner, Palestine suffers from the lack of traditional resources, Moreover, it witnesses an increase in consecutive consumption of non-renewable sources in various fields of life. Among the critical situation, the siege imposed, and the needs to an alternative source of energy instead of traditional energy, where this matter became urgency, especially with the continued interruption of electric power as well as fuel. The goal of this research study is the assessment of wind energy production in the Palestine by analyzing wind data, using expert probability function used in this field of research, calculating the amount of Power and Energy that can be produced from each one meter square during the year, calculating the actual energy curve through Weibull curve, calculating the cost of production per one kilowatt of energy and the ability to calculate the Economical payback period for any project if built in Palestine.
