Los currículos escolares señalan como pieza clave en la enseñanza de la Geografía, el desarrollo y adquisición de la Competencia Espacial (CE). Junto a ella, la actual Sociedad de la Información y la Comunicación advierte de la necesidad de formar en Competencias Digitales (CD), de manera que se logre alcanzar una ciudadanía responsable y capaz del siglo XXI. El objetivo de esta investigación es analizar las posibilidades didácticas que ofrece la Tecnología de la Información Geográfica Google EarthTM para desarrollar diferentes conceptos y procedimientos geográficos en el alumnado y en el profesorado en formación. La metodología implementada es mixta,y el modelo de enseñanza y aprendizaje utilizado es el Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK). Se analizan los dos instrumentos utilizados: las propuestas didácticas diseñadas y las respuestas a un cuestionario de escala Likert, a lo largo de dos cursos académicos. Algunos de los resultados evidencian que los participantes carecen de tanto de conocimientos relacionados con el paisaje geográfico como de CE, así como una deficiente formación en CD para llevar a cabo la tarea docente. Ante la creciente complejidad y estructura de código manejado por empresas y equipos de desarrollo, surge la necesidad de establecer procesos y metodologías prácticas con el objetivo de lograr una disposición más rápida, ágil y confiable del software. En este proyecto de Trabajo de Fin de Grado (TFG) se aborda la implementación de una infraestructura de Integración Continua y Despliegue Continuo (CI/CD) para una aplicación de software. El objetivo principal es automatizar y agilizar el proceso de desarrollo, pruebas y despliegue de la aplicación, siguiendo las mejores prácticas de CI/CD. La infraestructura de CI/CD diseñada constará de varias etapas principales, la ejecución de pruebas unitarias y de integración, la generación de informes de calidad de código y cobertura de pruebas, y el despliegue automatizado en un entorno de producción. Para ello se emplean herramientas populares como Jenkins, Kubernetes y Docker para la configuración y ejecución de las diferentes etapas de CI/CD. Además, se incorporan prácticas como la integración de pruebas automatizadas, el uso de contenedores para la gestión de dependencias y despliegue, y la integración con repositorios de código. El resultado de esta infraestructura de CI/CD es una mejora significativa en la eficiencia y calidad del proceso de desarrollo de la aplicación. Se logra una mayor rapidez en la detección de errores, una mayor confiabilidad en los despliegues y una mayor visibilidad de los resultados generados, gracias a la generación de informes y métricas. Por lo tanto, el objetivo de este Trabajo de Fin de Grado será crear y documentar un entorno de integración continua y despliegue continuo de una aplicación. El enfoque del proyecto se centrará en generar una estructura que de manera automática sea capaz de desplegar una aplicación que previamente hemos sometido a las pruebas necesarias para verificar su calidad. Esto permitirá optimizar los procesos de desarrollo y asegurar una entrega más rápida y confiable del software, contribuyendo a una mayor eficiencia y calidad del producto final.

This study aimed to link pharmacokinetic (PK) data from different flurbiprofen preparations for the treatment of sore throat with published data to elucidate whether early efficacy is due to the local action of flurbiprofen or a systemic effect after absorption of the swallowed drug. Three comparative bioavailability studies conducted in healthy subjects provided data from flurbiprofen 8.75 mg formulations, including spray solution, spray gel, lozenges, and granules. A parallel interstudy comparison was made of PK parameters, including partial AUCs (pAUCs), using an ANOVA model with the calculation of 90% confidence intervals (CI) for the differences between least squares (LS) means for each of the test groups versus the respective reference groups. All three studies showed bioequivalence for the respective product comparisons. The interstudy comparison showed a slower rate of absorption for granules compared to spray solution (reference) based on Tmax, Cmax, and pAUCs for 1 h and 2 h. When AUC0.25h and AUC0.5h were considered, slower rates of absorption were also seen for lozenges and spray gel. The differences correlated with the reported time of onset of action, which is faster for the spray solution (20 min) compared to lozenges (26 min) and granules (30 min). A Python library which enables easy access to this data was developed at the department of Digital Philology at the Technical University of Darmstadt. Para lograr este objetivo, se definió un Domain Specific Language (DSL) que permitiera simplificar las peticiones para obtener los datos. A continuación, se desarrolló una librería capaz de interpretar y ejecutar el lenguaje diseñado y, finalmente, se creó una aplicación web que simplica el uso de la librería previamente mencionada. En el desarrollo, se usa PostgreSQL como almacén de datos, así como Leaflet para visualizar los datos obtenidos en mapas. Se utiliza Vue.js para implementar el frontend y Spring para el backend. The Word App is a web application, which is publicly accessed by the people who have created accounts on it. The application gives twenty different types of relations for the single word input like definition, synonyms, frequency, and so on. The project's motto is to automate the deployment process using DevOps technology by wrapping up all the dependencies and runtime into a single container using Docker. Then, the application containers and database containers are deployed into the Kubernetes cluster specifically for managing applications and orchestrating containers. Also, Prometheus was deployed inside the Kubernetes cluster in order to get the metrics from the cluster and to monitor and set alerts for any malicious and unpredictable behaviour. Finally, the entire manual task was automated using Jenkins by fetching the source code from the GitHub repository. Our aim is to create a web application with achievements of automation, elasticity, reduced downtime and instant recovery using modern DevOps tools.

Command line and version control skills are vital to computer science students during their education and as they enter the software industry. These skills are commonly taught to undergraduate students via traditional lecturing methods and brief hands-on activities. Many students struggle with learning the Git version control system because they are not familiar with the command line, or they do not understand how Git works internally. Recent research highlights the effectiveness of using interactive visualizations to teach computer science concepts. Thus, we developed novel command line and Git exercises with interactive visualizations. These exercises integrate with learning management systems to automate grading. We tested the effectiveness of the exercises in a CS2 course at a large research institution by conducting pre-assessments before and post-assessments after the students completed the exercises. We found that students performed significantly better on both the command line and Git post-assessments than on the pre-assessments. Furthermore, we found that students with less experience with the command line and Git achieved a significantly greater improvement from the pre-assessments to the post-assessments. Additionally, we found that students with different levels of command line and Git experience did not perform differently on the exercises. Therefore, the exercises provide a novel tool for teaching command line and Git concepts to undergraduate computer science students with any level of command line and Git experience. This report describes a novel assessment technique to evaluate written assignments such as literature reviews, essays or research proposals (henceforth called term papers) over the course of the academic semester in multiple milestones. The method can be adapted to most undergraduate and graduate courses regardless of discipline. Key features of this method include encouraging student self-regulation and spacing of learning, scoring progress using quantitative elements, improving the authenticity and transparency of the written work, and guiding students towards better writing and thinking skills. The method involves the use of a broadly used system called version control or source control, which is a way to track and manage changes to data, most used by programmers. This report describes a use case in two Psychology courses describing the marking dynamics and student response to the assessment. This protocol has been seeded on a public repository on GitHub where educators can contribute and develop the technique further.

Software being developed today can have years worth of history and hundreds if notthousands of files involved in a single project. When trying to determine what parts ofthe code need maintenance or updating it can be difficult to determine what will beproblematic in the future. Hours spent on code that will not cause problems in thefuture could be better used in other areas. Before changes are made to a codebase, themost error-prone parts of the code should be identified. In this thesis a method forcomparing what factors contribute to future bugs is developed, as well as testing severalfactors extracted from version control metadata using this method. In addition, avisualization was made using tree maps to show the most problematic files in a readablemanner, effectively using the produced data in an application to predict future bugs. Itwas determined that Age of newest change, Changes with age reducing importance andPrevious bugfixes with age reducing importance were all the most impactful factors forpredicting future bugs but that different repositories worked best with differentcombinations of the mentioned factors.

The global engineering design house Syntronic has requested a further development of the open source Python framework PyVISA-sim to enable dynamic simulations of signals and measuring instruments which would streamline development of their internal radio equipment testing tool. This tool is used by a world leading telecommunications company when developing their next generation radio equipment. PyVISA-sim is used in lab environments to test applications without access to real connected instruments. The project detailed in this thesis strives to pinpoint Syntronic’s needs, develop the requested functionality within the framework and have the changes implemented as part of the official GitHub repository, thereby making them available for anyone wanting to utilize them. To achieve this agile software development methods are utilized combined with an open source mindset. The resulting additions to PyVISA-sim can reduce the workload for all users in need of a more complex simulation method.

Purpose: we use GIT for version control management. It is widely used in teamwork. Standalone developers mostly do not prefer to use it. But in all types of development, we can use it to manage our software efficiently. We demonstrate how we can use the GIT version control in our software project through the step-by-step procedure. We will use Bitbucket and GitHub as GIT servers and SourceTree as GIT clients for the demonstration. The SourceTree has GUI, which we generally prefer. This paper might be helpful who are trying to integrate the GIT system into their project. Design/Methodology/Approach: We create a new remote GIT repo (Repository) in Bitbucket and GitHub. Then install a GIT client into our system. The remote repo is cloned into our system through it. Inside the local repo, we add and modify files. After a good change, we must send it to the Stage. We are writing comments on it and committing to the changes. So, GIT can keep a change record. We can revert to the previous commit point if the current changes are unsuitable. Findings/Result: Here, we demonstrate how to integrate Git easily. Individual researchers can incorporate GIT into their projects efficiently. Originality/Value: Many documents are available on the net for version control system demonstrations. Title: Usage of the continuous integration in the development of network systems for the needs of automotive industry This paper deals with the topic of continuous integration and basic terms related to it. The paper begins with basic information on continuous integration (CI), its application and software testing. This is followed by an overview of the necessary tools and technologies used for the making of a continuous integration system. Next is an example of the continuous integration system that was used in the production of network system for the automotive industry, as well as a description of its creation process, its architecture and the architecture of the network system. Afterwards, the work methodology used in the version control system and good practices in working with code versioning are described, which is followed by description of Jenkins tool, its console output and running software testing using Jenkins. The paper ends with the conclusion on the benefits of the usage of CI in software production.

Diagnostic artifacts comprise the basis for archaeological interpretations; however, as our taxonomic definitions evolve, artifacts that were previously assigned to a type generally retain that designation, potentially confounding future research efforts and interpretations. For this exercise, the original type assignments are made available in an editable format that fosters engagement with the basic principles of open science, reproducibility, and 21st-Century archaeology. Through the enlistment of Git, GitHub, and an open call to edit and revise current typological assignments and attributes associated with diagnostic artifacts found across the National Forests and Grasslands in Texas (NFGT), the current catalog of projectile points and the most recent contextual data, type assignments, and attributes are made available to a general audience. This approach holds promise for historical and archaeological collections throughout a variety of research domains, and as a snowy/rainy-day option for K-12, higher education, field-based workshops, outdoor outreach and citizen-science projects. All contributions must conform to guidance included in the Guide to Contributing. Die Versionskontrollsoftware git und die Serversoftware GitLab wurden für die Softwareentwicklung konzipiert, ermöglichen aber auch kooperatives Arbeiten an Forschungsdaten entlang der FAIR-Prinzipien, beides elementare Herausforderungen im Forschungsdatenmanagement (FDM). Koordiniert durch die Landesinitiative fdm.nrw wurden in den vergangenen Jahren daher Abläufe und Schulungen zum FDM mit git und GitLab erprobt und durchgeführt. Eine Hürde bei der Verwendung von git und GitLab im FDM kann die Anwendung der zugrundeliegenden Software mittels Kommandozeilenbefehlen darstellen. Zwar wird das Verständnis der Versionierungsvorgänge erhöht, einige Forschende bevorzugen aber die intuitiven graphischen Interfaces. In jedem Fall ist für die Adaption Einarbeitungszeit einzuplanen. Für datengetriebene Forschung werden Versionsverwaltung und andere Digitalkompetenzen mittelfristig einen ebenso hohen Stellenwert wie das „wissenschaftliche Schreiben“ im Bereich der Sprachkompetenzen einnehmen müssen. Es gilt daher zunächst ein grundlegendes Verständnis für git und die Möglichkeiten zur Nutzung im FDM darzustellen. Ergänzend zu etablierten Schulungen wurden kurze, konkrete Beispiele in einer Best Practice Sammlung zusammengetragen: öffentliche GitLab-Projekte realisieren und dokumentieren einzelne Anwendungsfälle mit Hilfe der gebotenen Werkzeuge. Dadurch soll die Anwendungs- und Digitalkompetenz der Forschenden, aber auch der Infrastrukturmitarbeitenden und der Schulenden gesteigert werden und so git und GitLab zu einer besseren Umsetzung des FDM beitragen.

If you’ve ever wanted better version control resources, git-stories may be for you! This poster (1) showcases version-control “stories” told through both art and technical documentation and (2) provides information for joining the community and getting help with your version control issues. Stories ideas include: “How to share your work,” an overview of the git command cycle in a typical workflow and “When is it time to commit?” which highlights users who need to commit their code. In diesem Beitrag wird präsentiert wie, motiviert durch die Grundprinzipien von Versionierung, Tools wie Git und GitLab zu einer nachhaltigen Datenhaltung beitragen können., Die HeFDI-Forschungsdatentage ermöglichen es Forschenden, Lehrenden und allen weiteren Interessierten, Themen und Angebote des Forschungsdatenmanagements (FDM) kennenzulernen und zu erproben. Zudem stellen verschiedene hessische Infrastruktur-Einrichtungen und Zentren ihre Dienste und Angebote vor. Die Forschungsdatentage sind ein Angebot der Landesinitiative HeFDI - Hessische Forschungsdateninfrastrukturen, welche vom Hessischen Ministerium für Wissenschaft und Kunst (HMWK) finanziert wird.

A two-hour workshop on using DataLad (datalad.org) for version controlling data and research data management, held at the two-day ReproNim Germany workshop for the DGPA.

This work describes the setup of an advanced technical infrastructure for collaborative software development (CDE) in large, distributed projects based on GitLab. We present its customization and extension, additional features and processes like code review, continuous automated testing, DevOps practices, and sustainable life-cycle management including long-term preservation and citable publishing of software releases along with relevant metadata. The environment is currently used for developing the open cardiac simulation software openCARP and an evaluation showcases its capability and utility for collaboration and coordination of sizeable heterogeneous teams. As such, it could be a suitable and sustainable infrastructure solution for a wide range of research software projects.

Im Fachbereich für Digital Philology an der TU Darmstadt ist außerdem eine Python-Bibliothek entstanden, die einen einfachen Zugriff auf diese zulässt. Die Bilbiothek ermöglicht die Weiterverarbeitung der Annotationen mit gängigen Python Datascience-Tools. Bacterial EVs have been related to inter-kingdom communication between probiotic/pathogenic bacteria and their hosts. Our aim was to investigate the transcytosis process of B. subtilis EVs using an in vitro intestinal epithelial cell model. In this study, using Confocal Laser Scanning Microscopy, we report that uptake and internalization of CFSE-labeled B. subtilis EVs (115 nm ± 27 nm) by Caco-2 cells are time-dependent. To study the transcytosis process we used a transwell system and EVs were quantified in the lower chamber by Fluorescence and Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis measurements. Intact EVs are transported across a polarized cell monolayer at 60–120 min and increased after 240 min with an estimated average uptake efficiency of 30% and this process is dose-dependent. EVs movement into intestinal epithelial cells was mainly through Z axis and scarcely on X and Y axis. This work demonstrates that EVs could be transported across the gastrointestinal epithelium. We speculate this mechanism could be the first step allowing EVs to reach the bloodstream for further delivery up to extraintestinal tissues and organs. The expression and further encapsulation of bioactive molecules into natural nanoparticles produced by probiotic bacteria could have practical implications in food, nutraceuticals and clinical therapies. Background In March 2020, the World Health Organization declared coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) a global pandemic. We aimed to assess the ability of COVID-19 screening to detect preprocedural infection at the gastrointestinal units. One hundred and three patients indicated for gastrointestinal tract interventional procedures were included. All patients surveyed for COVID-19-related symptoms and COVID-19 rapid IgM/IgG antibodies. Symptomatic and COVID-19 antibody-positive patients further tested for COVID-19 reverse transcriptase by polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). All patients contacted, 14 days after the procedure and asked about the possible development of COVID-19. All health care workers (HCWs) (n=18) were screened weekly for COVID-19-related symptoms. Results The mean age was 46.11 ± 17.16 years of them 58.25% were males. 2.9% patients had COVID-19-related symptoms and 97.1% were asymptomatic. All symptomatic patients tested positive for COVID-19 IgM antibody and RT-PCR. Among asymptomatic patients 23% had positive COVID-19 antibodies, of them 56.5%patients had positive RT-PCR. One HCW developed COVID-19 during the study. None of the included patients developed new onset of COVID-19 infection, two weeks after the procedure. Conclusion COVID-19 antibody test may be a reasonable preprocedural screening method for low-income countries and COVID-19 RT-PCR screening for symptomatic patients and those with positive COVID-19 antibody test.

HerrCompBioinfo is an open-source educational resource of computational tools for Bioinformatics enthusiasts written in Spanish. In this way, our users can build important skills to start their careers in Bioinformatics, despite possible language barriers. We present this resource as an ebook that you can access with this link. Moreover, in this GitHub repository, we develop, review, and maintain all the components of the project.

Durante el curso académico 21/22 se ha implantado el uso de Github Classroom en la asignatura Fundamentos de los Videojuegos (FV). FV es una asignatura de tercero de Ingeniería Multimedia de la Universidad de Alicante, donde se proporciona las bases para el análisis, diseño e implementación de videojuegos. Github Classroom es una de las plataformas que permiten expandir los sistemas tradicionales de gestión del aprendizaje con nuevas capacidades (por ejemplo, permite administrar y organizar un proyecto, realizando seguimientos del trabajo de los alumnos...). En este trabajo se aporta un estudio de implantación, analizando la opinión de los docentes y la relación resultado/esfuerzo de su implantación además de la opinión de los alumnos, recabada mediante encuestas, y su valoración con respecto a una posible implantación al resto de asignaturas del mismo curso o cursos anteriores de ingeniería multimedia. En este artículo, se comunica la experiencia del equipo docente en cuanto a las ventajas y dificultades de la herramienta, mostrando además estadísticas de uso de la plataforma. Todos los análisis planteados han servido para valorar el uso de Github Classroom dentro de la asignatura Fundamentos de los Videojuegos y propiciar su implantación en otras asignaturas afines. El presente trabajo ha contado con una ayuda del Programa de Redes-I3CE de investigación en docencia universitaria del Instituto de Ciencias de la Educación de la Universidad de Alicante (convocatoria 2021-22) Ref: 5552.
