Text-based person search aims to retrieve the specified person images given a textual description. The key to tackling such a challenging task is to learn powerful multi-modal representations. Towards this, we propose a Relation and Sensitivity aware representation learning method (RaSa), including two novel tasks: Relation-Aware learning (RA) and Sensitivity-Aware learning (SA). For one thing, existing methods cluster representations of all positive pairs without distinction and overlook the noise problem caused by the weak positive pairs where the text and the paired image have noise correspondences, thus leading to overfitting learning. RA offsets the overfitting risk by introducing a novel positive relation detection task (i.e., learning to distinguish strong and weak positive pairs). For another thing, learning invariant representation under data augmentation (i.e., being insensitive to some transformations) is a general practice for improving representation's robustness in existing methods. Beyond that, we encourage the representation to perceive the sensitive transformation by SA (i.e., learning to detect the replaced words), thus promoting the representation's robustness. Experiments demonstrate that RaSa outperforms existing state-of-the-art methods by 6.94%, 4.45% and 15.35% in terms of Rank@1 on CUHK-PEDES, ICFG-PEDES and RSTPReid datasets, respectively. Drug resistance has greatly limited the clinical efficacy of lenvatinib in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, the underlying molecular mechanisms of lenvatinib resistance remain largely undetermined. Further in-depth exploration of mechanisms underlying lenvatinib resistance is still required for the majority of HCC patients. In this study, an integrated unbiased whole-genome CRISPR-Cas9 screen with database analysis indicated LAPTM5 (lysosomal protein transmembrane 5) as the critical contributor to lenvatinib resistance in HCC. We revealed that LAPTM5 could promote intrinsic macroautophagic/autophagic flux by facilitating autolysosome formation to drive lenvatinib resistance. The upregulation of LAPTM5 in HCC was induced by both DNA hypomethylation and driver mutations like TP53. Inhibition of autolysosome formation by either hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) or LAPTM5 abrogation worked synergistically with lenvatinib to inhibit tumor growth. In HCC cell lines, patient-derived primary cell lines and organoids, as well as human HCC xenografts and immunocompetent mouse HCC model, the close association between LAPTM5 and sensitivity to lenvatinib was consistently verified. Importantly, in clinical HCC samples, where lenvatinib was used as the first line or adjuvant therapy, LAPTM5 expression negatively correlated with lenvatinib sensitivity, implying it as a biomarker to predict patient response to lenvatinib. For safe operation with active water cooling plasma facing components (PFCs) to handle a large input power over a long pulse discharge, some design optimization, R&D and maintenance were accomplished to improve the in-vessel components. For the purpose of large plasma current (1 MA) operation, the previous separated top and bottom passive stabilizers in the low field were electrical connected to stabilize plasma in the case of vertical displace events (VDEs). The experimental advanced superconducting tokamak (EAST) is being constructed at the Institute of Plasma Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CASIPP). The EAST project, approved by the Chinese government as a national mega project of science research is a fully superconducting tokamak. The most key component for EAST is the superconducting magnet coils (SMCs), which consists of 16 toroidal field coils (TFCs) and 14 poloidal field coils (PFCs). In 2003, three prototypes, one TFC and two PFCs, were successfully completed and passed a series of cryogenic tests. Batch production, needed for the SMCs has begun at CASIPP since 2002. Up to now, all 58 CIC conductors with a total length of 32 km, 12 TFCs out of 16 and 10 PFCs out of 14 have been fabricated. This paper emphasizes on the various technology issues that must be faced and solved for four R&D lines of SMCs after transforming to batch production. Quality control methods in process are also described.

EAST (HT-7U) is a large fusion experimental device. It is a full superconducting tokamak with 1 MA of plasma current, 1000 s of plasma duration, high elongation and triangularity. It mainly consists of superconducting magnets of poloidal and toroidal field (PF & TF), vacuum vessel (VV), thermal radiation shield (TRS) and cryostat vessel (CV). The significant difficulty for assembly of EAST is tight installation tolerances, which are in the order of several tenth of a millimeter. In particular, the alignment of plasma facing components to the magnetic axis of the device is less than ± 0.5 mm. At present, a reasonable assembly process of EAST has been defined, and based on it, the alignment method for EAST, including the survey control network, the location of the main components in different directions, the magnetic axis determination and the accurate positioning of the plasma facing components inside of the vacuum vessel and so on, has been defined by using the sophisticated optical metrology system (SOMS). This paper describes the assembly procedure of EAST and the installation tolerances associated with the main components. Meanwhile, how to establish the assembly survey control network, magnetic axis determination methods, are introduced in detail.

The force flow cooled superconducting cable-in-conduit conductor (CICC) is used in both of EAST toroidal field (TF) and poloidal field (PF) coils. The conductor consists of multi-stage NbTi superconducting cable and 1.5 mm thick square jacket. The cable is pulled through in a thin wall circular jacket and then compacted to square cross-section conductor. The jacket material is SUS316LN austenitic stainless steel seamless tubes (about 10 m each), which is assembled by butt-welding up to 600 m. The results of the welding procedure investigation and quality assurance procedures carrying out are described in this paper.

A cable-in-conduit conductor (CICC) production line was designed and constructed in Institute of Plasma Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences (IPPCAS) by the end of 2000. It can produce a length of 600 meters and three kinds of sections of 20.8±0.1 × 20.8±0.1, 20.4±0.1 × 20.4±0.1 and 18.6 ± 0.1 × 18.6 ± 0.1 mm2. If the rollers of the shaping machine are changed, it can also produce other sizes of CICCs. So-called inserting-cable technology is adopted in this production line, where the procedures consist of tube pre-treatment (cleaning, pressure and leakage testing, end cutting), conduits butt-welding, six kinds of quality checking (endoscopy, dye penetration, pressure control, leakage testing, ultrasonic inspection and x-ray testing), cable inserting, shaping (compacting & squaring), pre-bending & winding and final checking. Now all the instruments and facilities required for these technologies have been installed and got ready. Some key technologies have been explored and good results obtained. Some short samples were produced and a 600 meters long sample was made out in August, 2001.

This paper reports the working procedure of a 30 m cable-in-conduit-conductor (CICC), which has been first successfully fabricated by a working group of IPP in Jan. 1999. A series of problems along with measures for their solution were put forward at the request of engineering design on the basis of an in-depth understanding of the basic performance of the related techniques for the manufacture of CICC. Through a full-scale trial manufacture of a 30 m conductor including a series of test on performance technology such as tube-tube butted welding, pulling, equaring, prebending and take-up, the trial manufacture of the first home-made CICC conductor has been accomplished, demonstrating that the fabrication of a long-length CICC is entirely possible theorically and practically through our own efforts. Results and problems concerned in this trial fabrication are also presented in the paper.

A special winding machine with high accuracy has just been developed and applied to the construction of HT-7U Tokamak. It is one of the critical facilities for R & D of HT-7U construction. The machine mainly consists of five parts, including a CICC pay-off spool, a four-roller correcting assembly, a four-roller forming/bending assembly, a continuous winding structure and a CNC control system with three-axis AC servo motors. The facility is used for Cable in Conduit Conductor (CICC) magnet fabrication of HT-7U. The main requirements of the winding machine are: continuous winding to reduce joints inside the coils; pre-forming CICC conductor to avoid winding with tension; suitable for all TF & PF coils of various coil shapes and within the dimension limit; improving the configuration tolerance and the special flatness of the CICC conductor. This paper emphasizes on the design and fabrication of the special winding machine for HT-7U. Some analyses and techniques in winding process for trial D-shape coil are also presented.

Vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) data for the strongly associated ternary system methanol + water + ethanoic acid and the three constituent binary systems have been determined by the total pressure-temperature-liquid-phase composition-molar excess enthalpy of mixing of the liquid phase (p, T, x, HmE) for the binary systems using a novel pump ebulliometer at 101.325 kPa. The vapor-phase compositions of these binary systems had been calculated from Tpx and HmE based on the Q function of molar excess Gibbs energy through an indirect method. Moreover, the experimental T, x data are used to estimate nonrandom two-liquid (NRTL), Wilson, Margules, and van Laar model parameters, and these parameters in turn are used to calculate vapor-phase compositions. The activity coefficients of the solution were correlated with NRTL, Wilson, Margules, and van Laar models through fitting by least-squares method. The VLE data of the ternary system were well predicted from these binary interaction parameters of NRTL, Wilson, Margules, and van Laar model parameters without any additional adjustment to build the thermodynamic model of VLE for the ternary system and obtain the vapor-phase compositions and the calculated bubble points.

Chemotherapy is an important therapeutic approach for cancer treatment. However, drug resistance is an obstacle that often impairs the successful use of chemo-therapies. Therefore, overcoming drug resistance would lead to better therapeutic outcomes for cancer patients. Recently, studies by our own and other groups have demonstrated that there is an intimate correlation between the loss of the F-box and WD repeat domain-containing 7 (FBW7) tumor suppressor and the incurring drug resistance. While loss of FBW7 sensitizes cancer cells to certain drugs, FBW7-/- cells are more resistant to other types of chemotherapies. FBW7 exerts its tumor suppressor function by promoting the degradation of various oncoproteins that regulate many cellular processes, including cell cycle progression, cellular metabolism, differentiation, and apoptosis. Since loss of the FBW7 tumor suppressor is linked to drug resistance, FBW7 may represent a novel therapeutic target to increase drug sensitivity of cancer cells to conventional chemotherapeutics. This paper thus focuses on the new functional aspects of FBW7 in drug resistance.

Deregulated Skp2 function promotes cell transformation, and this is consistent with observations of Skp2 over-expression in many human cancers. However, the mechanisms underlying elevated Skp2 expression remain elusive. Here we report that the serine/threonine protein kinase Akt1, but not Akt2, directly controls Skp2 stability by a mechanism that involves degradation by the APC/Cdh1 ubiquitin ligase complex. We further show that Akt1 phosphorylates Skp2 at Ser72, which is required to disrupt the interaction between Cdh1 and Skp2. In addition, we show that Ser72 is localized within a putative Nuclear Localization Sequence (NLS) and that phosphorylation of Ser72 by Akt leads to Skp2 cytoplasmic translocation. This finding expands our knowledge of how specific signaling kinase cascades influence proteolysis governed by APC/Cdh1 complexes, and provides evidence that elevated Akt activity and cytoplasmic Skp2 expression may be causative for cancer progression.

It is a frequent and important operation to access a Web-based database and manage its data. The efficiency of this operation has an effect on the whole system in the performance to expense ratio. This paper presents an implementation of a database in a Web-based agriculture ES, with emphasis on discussing the realization that takes less time in accessing the Web-based database and converting the data, and elevates the performance to expense ratio of the whole system.

Using the multiple-parameter Monte Carlo method, the effectiveness of the dual threshold voltage technique (DTV) in low power domino logic design is analyzed. Simulation results indicate that under significant temperature and process fluctuations, DTV is still highly effective in reducing the total leakage and active power consumption for domino gates with speed loss. Also, regarding power and delay characteristics, different structure domino gates with DTV have different robustness against temperature and process fluctuation.
