Xie, C.-M., Ren, Zh.-J, Wang, Ch.-X. & Zhang, L.-L. 2020. Four species of Fuscidea new to China. – Herzogia 33: 447–454.Fuscidea asbolodes, F. elixii and F. scrupulosa are reported for the first time in Asia and F. recensa var. arcuatula is new to China. Detailed taxonomic descriptions with illustrations as well as a key to all known Chinese Fuscidea species are provided.

Fifty-six species of saxicolous lichens are reported for the first time from the Kodar Range. Circinaria scyphulifera is described as new to science. Aspicilia nikrapensis and Fuscidea submollis are new for Russia; Aspicilia sublapponica, Lepra monogona and Thelignya lignyota are new for southern Siberia; and 35 species of saxicolous lichens are reported for the first time for the Stanovoye Nagor'e highlands. Eleven new for science species of lichen-forming fungi, i.e.: Amandinea pseudomultispora, Buellia chujadoensis, Fuscidea coreana, F. extremorientalis, Hafellia extremorientalis, H. pseudosubnexa, Halecania subalpivaga, Lecanactis subdilleniana, Lecania chirisanensis, Maronella coreana, and Melanophloea coreana are described, illustrated and compared with closely related taxa. Amandinea polyspora, Catillaria nigroclavata, Ivanpisutia oxneri, Lecanora saligna, L. sambuci, and Lecidella mandshurica are proved to be new to Korea.

Tsurykau, A., Golubkov, V. & Kukwa, M. 2014. New or otherwise interesting records of lichens and lichenicolous fungi from Belarus. — Herzogia 27: 111–120. Data on fourteen species of lichenized and lichenicolous fungi from Belarus are presented, of which 5 lichens (Fuscidea arboricola, Lecanora compallens, Lepraria vouauxii, Ochrolechia bahusiensis, Violella fucata) and 7 lichenicolous fungi (Acremonium antarcticum, Epicladonia sandstedei, E. stenospora, Lettauia cladoniicola, Pezizella ucrainica, Phaeopyxis punctum, Taeniolella phaeophysciae) are new to the country. The occurrence of Ochrolechia pallescens is confirmed by thin-layer chromatography in Belarus and the first contemporary record of O. arborea is presented.

The annotated list of 15 species of lichens and lichenicolous fungi collected by the author in 2005 and 2007 is presented. Eight species are new to the Primorye Territory, including Absconditella delutula (Nyl.) Coppins et H. Kilias which is new to Asia, Cetraria annae Oxner and Fuscidea kochiana (Hepp) V. Wirth et Vězda — new to the Russian Far East. The genus Absconditella is new to the Russian Far East. Distribution of species is discussed.

MAYRHOFER, H. & COPPINS, B. J. 2013. Remarkable records of lichenized fungi from Slovenia. - Herzogia 26: 201–206. Bacidia caesiovirens, Caloplaca ulcerosa, Japewia subaurifera, Micarea micrococca and Porina hibernica are new records for Slovenia. Biatora pontica and Lepraria leuckertiana are reported for the first time from the Dinaric phytogeographical region of Slovenia. Further records are provided for the rare species Caloplaca coralliza and Fuscidea arboricola..

The new taxa Cliostomum subtenerum, Dactylospora suburceolata, Fuscidea oceanica, Lecania granulata, Lecidea herteliana, and Ropalospora lugubris f. sorediata are described from collections made from Scotland and Wales. Outside the British Isles, D. suburceolata is also known from Switzerland, L. herteliana from NE North America and R. lugubris f. sorediata from Sweden and NE North America. In addition, Lecidea luteoatra Nyl. belongs to the Lecanora marginata group and the name Lecanora viridiatra (Stenh.) Nyl. is taken up for this species, Peterjamesia sorediata is transferred to Roccellographa, and Ropalospora atroumbrina is included in the synonymy of R. lugubris f. sorediata.

The species of the genus Fuscidea occurring in North America are revised. Two new species, Fuscidea appalachensis Fryday and F. texana Fryday, are described from eastern North America and southern Texas, respectively. Three new combinations are also made in Fuscidea: Lecidea aleutica Degel. is shown to be a distinct species and not a synonym of Fuscidea lowensis (H. Magn.) R. Anderson & Hertel as previously suggested and is here recognized as F. aleutica (Degel.) Fryday; non-sorediate, apotheciate specimens from eastern North America previously referred to F. recensa (Stirt.) Hertel, V. Wirth & Vězda are recognized as Fuscidea recensa var. arcuatula (Arnold) Fryday; and Fuscidea scrupulosa (Eckf.) Fryday is shown to be the correct name for Fuscidea subreagens (H. Magn.) Oberholl. & V. Wirth. Fuscidea subfilamentosa (Zahlbr.) Brako is shown to be a member of the Lecidea hypnorum group and the new combination Lecidea subfilamentosa (Zahlbr.) Fryday is made, and Lecidea gyrodes H. Magn., described from Tennessee, is shown to be a synonym of F. recensa var. arcuatula. Fuscidea cyathoides (Ach.) V. Wirth & Vězda, F. kochiana (Hepp) V. Wirth & Vězda and F. lightfootii (Sm.) Coppins & P. James are considered not to have been correctly reported from North America.

Ten species of lichenized ascomycetes are reported from the Urals. Aspicilia spermatomanes, Fuscidea praeruptorum, Lepra excludens, L. monogona, Metamelanea caesiella and Pertusaria amarescens are new to Russia while Bryobilimbia ahlesii, Lecanora orosthea, L. rouxii and Tephromela grumosa are new for the Urals. Our records considerably extend the ranges or fill gaps in the formerly disjunctive distributions of these species. In support of the Lichen Flora of Great Britain and Ireland, 22 new combinations are made, and the following new species are described: Bacidia subcircumspecta Coppins, B. viridifarinosa Coppins & P. James, Coccotrema citrinescens P. James & Coppins, Eopyrenula avellanae Coppins, E. grandicula Coppins, E. septemseptata Coppins, Fuscidea hibernica P. James & Poelt, Graphis alboscripta Coppins & P. James, Lecidea doliiformis Coppins & P. James, Melaspilea atroides Coppins, Opegrapha fumosa Coppins & P. James, and O. multipuncta Coppins & P. James.

A new chemotype of Dimelaena oreina from California produces sphaerophorin as the major constituent and gyrophoric acid as an accessory of variable concentration. Chemical structures are proposed for two new orcinol-type para-depsides also detected in this chemotype. Isosphaeric acid is an isomer of sphaerophorin with a n-C7H,,-side chain on the A-ring and a one-carbon side chain on the B-ring. Superlatolic acid has the full reduced seven-carbon side chain on both rings. Fuscidea viridis, a new species described here from Norway and Sweden, produces all possible 4-O-methylated orcinol para-depsides with phenolic units having n-C5H11- and n-C7H5,- side chains.
