Kolejna wielka rewolucja dokonuje się aktualnie dzięki mediom społecznościowym, a szerzej za sprawą rzeczywistości 2.0. Turyści jako celebryci posiadający grono fanów w social mediach, aby utrzymać popularność muszą odpowiednio o nich zadbać. Zaskakują poprzez intensyfikację zachowań performatywnych, za sprawą zaś specjalnych filtrów w mobilnych aplikacjach idealizują i romantyzują nie tylko odwiedzaną przestrzeń, ale również siebie. Udostępniane w mediach społecznościowych, na stronach internetowych, forach, blogach, opiniotwórczych portalach turystycznych zdjęcia towarzyszą opisom wrażeń czy opiniom. Fotografie jednak często opatrzone są jedynie tzw. hasztagami, które gromadzą nieograniczone niczym albumy zdjęć, interpretujące w punkt słowa Johna Bergera: "Nigdy nie patrzymy na jedną rzecz. Zawsze patrzymy na relację między rzeczami, a nami samymi". Turystyczna fotografia stała się zatem zwierciadłem szerszych zmian zachodzących we współczesnym świecie. Czy może również stać się kluczem do lepszego zrozumienia samej turystyki kulturowej, a tym samym obowiązujących lub zmieniających się narracji dziedzictwa? Czy tak powszechne materiały wizualne tworzone i udostępniane przez turystów kulturowych mogą mieć głębszy sens? Jeżeli tak, to jak twórczo wykorzystać zjawisko fotograficznej multiplikacji? Jakie praktyki sugerować zarządcom obiektów, aby materiały te skutecznie włączyć w procesy nie tylko popularyzacji, ale też interpretacji dziedzictwa? Jak zmieniła się fotografia turystyczna i jej oddziaływanie na różne formy turystyki kulturowej, miejsce w promocji, interpretacji dziedzictwa kulturowego? Kolejne pytanie brzmi zatem: jak fotorewolucja zmienia turystyczne spojrzenie oraz wpływa na turystykę kulturową?

W 1996 r. John Lennon oraz Malcolm Foley po raz pierwszy posłużyli się pojęciem dark tourism (mroczna turystyka). Od tego czasu powstało wiele monografii oraz artykułów poruszających tematykę podróży do miejsc pokatastrofalnych. W Polsce, w pierwszej części monografii "Współczesne formy turystyki kulturowej" ukazał się tekst Sławoja Tanasia nakreślający zjawisko tanatoturystyki. Przedstawiony został kontekst historyczny podróży do miejsc związanych ze śmiercią oraz różne odmiany turystyki, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem turystyki cmentarnej. Celem niniejszego artykułu, o charakterze przeglądowym, jest próba wskazania pewnych tendencji, które szczególnie w ciągu ostatniej dekady uległy znacznej intensyfikacji. Na podstawie konkretnych przykładów ukazany został wpływ tradycyjnych mediów oraz mediów społecznościowych i kultury popularnej na decyzję o wyjeździe do miejsca katastrofy. Ponadto wskazane zostały również zmiany w zachowaniu mrocznych turystów, które następują pod wpływem nowoczesnych technologii. Tym samym przykłady często kontrowersyjne i nieetyczne dały obraz tego, na ile można dziś mówić o miejscach pamięci, a na ile o powstających "pamięciolandiach". Bezpośrednią inspiracją tekstu były badania przeprowadzone w latach 2016-2018 w Czarnobylskiej Strefie Wykluczenia, oparte w dużej mierze o wywiady jakościowe z polskimi turystami oraz obserwację uczestniczącą. Ze względu jednak na charakter artykułu przywołane zostaną również inne przykłady obrazujące omawianą tematykę. In 1996, John Lennon and Malcolm Foley used the concept of dark tourism for the first time. Since then, many monographs and articles on travel to post-catastrophic places have been published. The first part of the monograph The contemporary forms of cultural tourism includes a text by Sławoj Tanaś outlining the phenomenon of tanatotourism. It presents the historical context of travel to places connected with death and various types of tourism, with particular emphasis on cemetery tourism. The aim of this review-article will be an attempt to indicate certain trends, which especially in the last decade have been significantly intensified. Based on specific examples, the impact of traditional media and social media, as well as popular culture, on the decision whether to visit to the disaster site will be shown. In addition, the author undertakes to indicate changes in the behaviour of dark tourists, which take place under the influence of modern technologies. Thus, examples that are often controversial and unethical will give a picture of how much one can talk about memorial sites today and how much about emerging memorylands. The direct inspiration for the text was the research conducted in 2016-2018 in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, based largely on qualitative interviews conducted with Polish tourists and participating observation. However, due to the review character of the article, other examples illustrating the discussed subject matter will also be mentioned.

Przedstawione badanie ocenia szerokość górnych dróg oddechowych na wysokości migdałka gardłowego w grupie pacjentów z prawidłowym (nosowym) i zaburzonym (ustnym lub mieszanym) torem oddychania. Cel. Porównanie szerokości górnych dróg oddechowych w grupie badanej (zaburzony tor oddychania) i kontrolnej (prawidłowy tor oddychania) oraz ustalenie progu odcięcia i średnich wartości granicznych, umożliwiających diagnostykę różnicową nawykowego i konstytucjonalnego sposobu oddychania. Materiał i metody. W badaniu wzięło udział 221 pacjentów leczonych w Poradni Aquadent-Ortoestetyka w Kielcach. Na podstawie wywiadu, badania klinicznego oraz subiektywnej oceny szerokości górnych dróg oddechowych wg Holmberga zakwalifikowano odpowiednio 112 pacjentów do grupy badanej oraz 109 pacjentów do grupy kontrolnej. Dokonano pomiarów szerokości górnych dróg oddechowych za pomocą dwóch różnych metod liniowych: zmodyfikowanej metody wg Holmberga i Linder-Aronsona oraz wg Linder-Aronsona i Henricsona (AD1-PNS, AD2-PNS). Wyniki. W grupie badanej średnia wartość pomiaru wg Holmberga wynosi 4,25 mm, natomiast w grupie kontrolnej - 14,1 mm. Średnie wartości pomiarów AD1-PNS oraz AD2-PNS w grupie badanej wynoszą odpowiednio 8,1 mm oraz 9,5 mm i można je uznać za średnie wartości graniczne. Szerokość 6 mm wg Holmberga stanowi natomiast próg odcięcia między grupą badaną i kontrolną, i należy ją monitorować. W przypadku pomiaru wg Holmberga różnica między grupą badaną i kontrolną wynosi 9,85 mm. W przypadku pomiarów AD1-PNS i AD2-PNS różnica między grupą badaną i kontrolną wynosi odpowiednio 11,4 mm i 10,0 mm. Wnioski. Szerokość górnych dróg oddechowych na wysokości migdałka gardłowego wykazuje istotną statystycznie różnicę pomiędzy grupą badaną i kontrolną. Może to świadczyć o znacznym zwężeniu górnych dróg oddechowych na wysokości migdałka gardłowego w grupie badanej lub o odmiennym typie budowy twarzowej części czaszki. Wartości graniczne uzyskane w badaniu pozwalają na różnicowanie nawykowego i konstytucjonalnego sposobu oddychania. This study assesses the upper respiratory tract width at the level of the adenoid in patients with a normal (nasal) and abnormal (oral or mixed) breathing route. Aim. To compare the upper respiratory tract width in the study group (abnormal breathing route) and control group (normal breathing route) and to determine the cut-off point and mean limit values in order to conduct a differential diagnosis between a habitual and constitutional breathing route. Material and methods. The study included 221 patients treated at the Aquadent-Ortoestetyka Clinic in Kielce. Based on the medical history taken, clinical examination and subjective evaluation of the upper respiratory tract width according to Holmberg 112 patients were enrolled into the study group and 109 patients into the control group. The upper respiratory tract width was measured with two different linear methods: a modified method by Holmberg and Linder-Aronson, and the Linder-Aronson and Henricson method (AD1-PNS, AD2-PNS). Results. In the study group the mean value of the Holmberg measurement is 4.25 mm, and in the control group - 14.1 mm. Mean values of AD1- PNS and AD2-PNS measurements in the study group are 8.1 mm and 9.5 mm, respectively, and they can be regarded as mean limit values. The 6 mm Holmberg measurement is the cut-off value between the study and control groups, and it should be monitored. In relation to the Holmberg measurement a difference between the study and control groups is 9.85 mm. Regarding AD1-PNS and AD2-PNS measurements a difference between the study and control groups is 11.4 mm and 10.0 mm, respectively. Conclusions. The upper respiratory tract width at the level of the adenoid shows a statistically significant difference between the study and control groups. It may indicate significant narrowing of the upper respiratory tract at the level of the adenoid in the study group or a different type of morphology of the facial skeleton. Limit values obtained in the study allow differentiation of a habitual and constitutional breathing route.

Методом прямої потенціометрії визначено один з параметрів харчової безпеки (вміст нітратів) у пакетованих фруктово-ягідних соках вітчизняного виробництва торгівельних марок «Агуша», «Чудо-чадо», «Карапуз», «KidsRich», «Джусік», що рекомендовані у якості дитячого харчування. Вимірювання нітрат-іонів проводилися на фоні алюмокалієвих квасців, що додавалися безпосередньо у зразок перед вимірюванням. З проведених експериментальних досліджень встановлено, що вміст нітратів в усіх зразках не перевищує допустимі норми., Issues of food safety, especially in the field of food products for children, require special attention. Fruit juices are a useful food product that contains a complex of vitamins and minerals. Juices are recommended to be used as the first supplement for infants and in the diet of older children. Since juices are made from plant material, there is the risk that they contain nitrate ions, which, at high concentrations, adversely affect the human body. As people get nitrates and nitrites, from different sources (drinking water, various foods), scientists say that it is necessary to take into account the total exposure of these compounds to the body, especially when it comes to infant nutrition. That is why it is necessary and actual to control these food products with respect to the content of nitrates.By the method of direct potentiometry, parameters of food safety (nitrate content) in fruit and berry juices of domestic production of «Agusha», «Chudo-child», «Karapuz», «Kids Rich», «Jusik», which are recommended as a baby food, are determined by direct potentiometry. Measurements of nitrate ions were carried out against a background of alum-alkali alums, which were added directly to the sample before measurement. It is determined that the content of nitrates in all samples does not exceed the permissible standards. All packaged fruit juices comply with food safety requirements and can be used for baby food., Методом прямой потенциометрии определен один из параметров пищевой безопасности (содержание нитратов) в пакетированных фруктово-ягодных соках отечественного производства торговых марок «Агуша», «Чудо-чадо», «Карапуз», «KidsRich», «Джусик», которые рекомендованы в качестве детского питания. The paper refers to one of the statements of Leszek Bzdyl, director, actor, choreographer, and founder of Dada von Bzdülöw Theatre, in which he called for the creation of “a new body language”—a type of narration which confirms the important role of working with body and movement in Polish theatres. It concerns the work done by choreographers and people who specialise in intense physical training, which is based on not only the techniques of acting, but also various forms of contemporary dance and improvisation. The deepening of the theoretical reflection on the theory of dance and movement in the theatre may not only provide answers to questions about the aesthetics of the contemporary theatre in Poland and provide a reason for increasing interdisciplinary research, but also eliminate or resist unfair stereotypes concerning the environmental image of dancers and choreographers.

Celem artykułu jest próba ukazania "spojrzenia turysty" na nowojorski mikser kulturowy. Odnosząc się do teorii symulacrum Jeana Baudrillarda, w której badacz zakłada, że żyjemy w hiperrzeczywistości wskazuję na przykładzie Nowego Jorku na różne przejawy symulacji w turystyce. Refleksja części badawczej skupiała się będzie na spostrzeżeniach, poczynionych podczas podróży do Nowego Jorku - obserwacji uczestniczącej oraz na wywiadach, przeprowadzonych drogą mailową oraz poprzez facebooka z zapoznanymi wówczas nowojorczykami i turystami. Poprzez analizę komentarzy postaram się odpowiedzieć na pytanie - na ile percypowanie wielokulturowej rzeczywistości przez zwiedzających Nowy Jork jest autentyczne, a na ile jest konsekwencją egzystowania w symulakrycznej rzeczywistości. W artykule poprzez analizę porównawczą Union Square oraz Chinatown udowodnię również jak bardzo w transkulturowej przestrzeni Nowego Jorku może różnić się relacja host-guest. The subject of my work is a an attempt at capturing how tourists view cultural enclaves. Using elements of Jean Baudrillard's theory, in which he states that we are living now in a hiperreality, I present different displays of simulation functioning in contemporary tourism, using New York City as an example of this approach. In my research I use personal documents and also New Yorkers and tourists comments and try to rebuild it on theoretical assumptions of anthropology of tourism. Making use of all of the aforementioned methods I will try to answer a question - how much of what New York City's tourist perceive of its multicultural reality is actually authentic and how much of it is a consequence of being submerged in a simulacrum of reality.

BACKGROUND Pentraxin 3 (PTX3) belongs to the acute phase proteins; its concentration increases significantly in the early stages of inflammation. In nearly 20% of patients with acute pancreatitis (AP) escalated inflammation leads to the development of severe forms of the disease. The aim of this study was to evaluate the pattern of changes in PTX3 concentration in patients with AP at the early stage of the disease (first 5 days from admission) and to assess the relationship between PTX3 and other inflammatory markers. METHODS The study included 40 patients with AP (16 women and 24 men)--12 with severe and 28 with mild form of AP. Concentrations of PTX3, serum amyloid A (SAA), C-reactive protein (CRP), hepatocyte growth factor (HGF), procalcitonin (PCT), polymorphonuclear elastase (PMN-elastase), interleukin 6 (IL-6), interleukin 18 (IL-18), and soluble receptor for TNFalpha (sTNFR75) were measured in samples collected on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th day of the hospital stay. Plasma PTX3 was measured also in the control group, consisting of 37 age and sex-matched healthy subjects. RESULTS The highest concentrations of PTX3 were noted on the first day after admission. The concentrations were higher in patients with the severe compared to those with the mild form of AP (median 17.2 vs. 4.0 ng/mL on day 1, p = 0.03; 6.1 vs. 2.2 on day 5, p = 0.044). On each of the study days significant correlations were found between PTX3 and SAA, IL-6, and PMN-elastase (p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS The pattern of changes in PTX3 concentration in the early phase of AP is similar to that of IL-6, and its peak levels are achieved earlier compared to CRP. Our findings suggest that PTX3 may be useful in early evaluation and prediction of the severity of AP.

On animal models enteroaggregative Escherichia coli (EAEC) can cause mild, but significant mucosal damage, suggesting the invasive capability of these strains. In the study we investigated the ability of typical, aggR-positive and atypical, aggR-negative EAEC isolates to enter intestinal epithelial Int407 cells in relation to the distribution of genes encoding the putative invasins described among pathogenic E. coli categories. The results demonstrated that regardless of origin and affiliation to typical and atypical EAEC, most isolates examined were internalized by the epithelial cells to different extent. Although as many as 50 (84.3%) EAEC demonstrated a variety of combinations of the aggB, afaD, ipaH and tia genes determined, there was no correlation between the invasion efficiency of these strains and the presence of any particular gene involved in invasion. Most of EAEC examined belonged to phylogenetic group B2 and D.

During infection with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), immune pressure from cytotoxic T-lymphocytes (CTLs) selects for viral mutants that confer escape from CTL recognition. These escape variants can be transmitted between individuals where, depending upon their cost to viral fitness and the CTL responses made by the recipient, they may revert. The rates of within-host evolution and their concordant impact upon the rate of spread of escape mutants at the population level are uncertain. Here we present a mathematical model of within-host evolution of escape mutants, transmission of these variants between hosts and subsequent reversion in new hosts. The model is an extension of the well-known SI model of disease transmission and includes three further parameters that describe host immunogenetic heterogeneity and rates of within host viral evolution. We use the model to explain why some escape mutants appear to have stable prevalence whilst others are spreading through the population. Further, we use it to compare diverse datasets on CTL escape, highlighting where different sources agree or disagree on within-host evolutionary rates. The several dozen CTL epitopes we survey from HIV-1 gag, RT and nef reveal a relatively sedate rate of evolution with average rates of escape measured in years and reversion in decades. For many epitopes in HIV, occasional rapid within-host evolution is not reflected in fast evolution at the population level., Author Summary HIV evolves so quickly that it can be seen to adapt within one infected person. We report the growth and characterization of improved efficiency wide‐bandgap ZnO/CdS/CuGaSe2 thin‐film solar cells. The CuGaSe2 absorber thickness was intentionally decreased to better match depletion widths indicated by drive‐level capacitance profiling data. A total‐area efficiency of 9·5% was achieved with a fill factor of 70·8% and a Voc of 910 mV.
