This study applied social learning theory to investigate the relationship between supervisors' and employees' organizational citizenship behavior, as well as the moderating role of leader–member exchange (LMX). Through convenience sampling we selected 239 employees from different organizations in China to complete the study in two stages separated by a 1-month interval. Hierarchical regression analysis results indicated that employee OCB was positively influenced by supervisor OCB and that LMX positively moderated this relationship. Hence, organizations should account for the effect of supervisors' OCB, cultivate supervisors' awareness of and ability to conduct OCB, select supervisors with a high OCB tendency, endow them with job autonomy, and encourage them to build high-quality exchange relationships with employees.

To solve the environmental problem of iron tailings, the preparation of green binding materials using iron tailings powder (ITP) shows bright prospects. However, the low activity of ITP limits its use as supplementary cementitious materials in large amounts. In this work, the activity of ITP treated for different milling times and at different sintering temperatures was studied, as well as the effects on the properties and microstructure of blended cement. It was found that ITP has a filling effect and provides additional nucleation sites. Additionally, ITP exhibits pozzolanic activity and consumes more hydration products at the later stage, which promotes the formation and deposition of C-S-H. All of these factors are related to the specific surface area (SSA) of the ITP and provide the conditions for cement paste densification, laying a foundation for the strength of cement blended with ITP. In summary, the activity of activated ITP is related to its SSA. It takes a long time for ITP to show pozzolanic activity. Activated ITP undergoes a secondary reaction to form a hydration product. The environmental impact and cost of pure cement pastes were higher than those of the cement–ITP pastes.

Objective The aim of this study was to search for key genes in ankylosing spondylitis (AS) through comprehensive bioinformatics analysis, thus providing some theoretical support for future diagnosis and treatment of AS and further research. Methods Gene expression profiles were collected from Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO, http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/geo/) by searching for the term "ankylosing spondylitis". Ultimately, two microarray datasets (GSE73754 and GSE11886) were downloaded from the GEO database. A bioinformatic approach was used to screen differentially expressed genes and perform functional enrichment analysis to obtain biological functions and signalling pathways associated with the disease. Weighted correlation network analysis (WGCNA) was used to further obtain key genes. Immune infiltration analysis was performed using the CIBERSORT algorithm to conduct a correlation analysis of key genes with immune cells. The GWAS data of AS were analysed to identify the pathogenic regions of key genes in AS. Finally, potential therapeutic agents for AS were predicted using these key genes. Results A total of 7 potential biomarkers were identified: DYSF, BASP1, PYGL, SPI1, C5AR1, ANPEP and SORL1. ROC curves showed good prediction for each gene. T cell, CD4 naïve cell, and neutrophil levels were significantly higher in the disease group than in the paired normal group, and key gene expression was strongly correlated with immune cells. CMap results showed that the expression profiles of ibuprofen, forskolin, bongkrek-acid, and cimaterol showed the most significant negative correlation with the expression profiles of disease perturbations, suggesting that these drugs may play a role in AS treatment. Conclusion The potential biomarkers of AS screened in this study are closely related to the level of immune cell infiltration and play an important role in the immune microenvironment. This may provide help in the clinical diagnosis and treatment of AS and provide new ideas for further research.

The host genome may influence the composition of the intestinal microbiota, and the intestinal microbiota has a significant effect on muscle growth and development. In this study, we found that the deletion of the myostatin (MSTN) gene positively regulates the expression of the intestinal tight junction-related genes TJP1 and OCLN through the myosin light-chain kinase/myosin light chain pathway. The intestinal structure of MSTN−/− pigs differed from wild-type, including by the presence of a thicker muscularis and longer plicae. Together, these changes affect the structure of intestinal microbiota. Mice transplanted with the intestinal microbiota of MSTN−/− pigs had myofibers with larger cross-sectional areas and higher fast-twitch glycolytic muscle mass. Microbes responsible for the production of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) were enriched in both the MSTN−/− pigs and recipient mice, and SCFAs levels were elevated in the colon contents. We also demonstrated that valeric acid stimulates type IIb myofiber growth by activating the Akt/mTOR pathway via G protein-coupled receptor 43 and ameliorates dexamethasone-induced muscle atrophy. This is the first study to identify the MSTN gene-gut microbiota-SCFA axis and its regulatory role in fast-twitch glycolytic muscle growth.

BackgroundThe time spent with parents is a crucial factor in the growth of children, and children's well-being is an important indicator of their mental health.MethodsTo promote the children's well-being, this study, which is relying on the data from the 2017 China Time Use Survey (CTUS), explores the relationship between parental time and children's well-being and specific influencing factors.ResultsThe more time parents spent with children, the higher their children's well-being will be (coefficient 0.1020, p < 0.01). The life and leisure time parents spent with children promoted children's well-being (coefficient 0.1020, p < 0.01). The life and leisure time the mother spent with children (coefficient 0.1030, p < 0.05) the life and leisure time (coefficient 0.1790, p < 0.05) and the educational interactions time the father spent with children (coefficient 0.3630, p < 0.10) positively affected children's well-being. The influence of the time parents spent with children on children's well-being was heterogeneous based on their children's academic performance.ConclusionsParental accompaniment is an important determinant of children's well-being. Family education, guidance services, and mental health services should be strengthened, and it is necessary to improve the time spent with children and to pay attention to individual differences in children.

In order to be trusted by humans, Artificial Intelligence agents should be able to describe rationales behind their decisions. One such application is human action recognition in critical or sensitive scenarios, where trustworthy and explainable action recognizers are expected. For example, reliable pedestrian action recognition is essential for self-driving cars and explanations for real-time decision making are critical for investigations if an accident happens. In this regard, learning-based approaches, despite their popularity and accuracy, are disadvantageous due to their limited interpretability. This paper presents a novel neuro-symbolic approach that recognizes actions from videos with human-understandable explanations. Specifically, we first propose to represent videos symbolically by qualitative spatial relations between objects called qualitative spatial object relation chains. We further develop a neural saliency estimator to capture the correlation between such object relation chains and the occurrence of actions. Given an unseen video, this neural saliency estimator is able to tell which object relation chains are more important for the action recognized. We evaluate our approach on two real-life video datasets, with respect to recognition accuracy and the quality of generated action explanations. Experiments show that our approach achieves superior performance on both aspects to previous symbolic approaches, thus facilitating trustworthy intelligent decision making. Our approach can be used to augment state-of-the-art learning approaches with explainabilities.

WD repeat domain 5 (WDR5), an integral component of the MLL/KMT2A lysine methyltransferase complex, is critically involved in oncogenesis and represents an attractive onco-target. Inhibitors targeting protein-protein interactions (PPIs) between WDR5 and its binding partners, however, do not inhibit all of WDR5-mediated oncogenic functions and exert rather limited antitumor effects. Here, we report a cereblon (CRBN)-recruiting proteolysis targeting chimera (PROTAC) of WDR5, MS40, which selectively degrades WDR5 and the well-established neo-substrates of immunomodulatory drugs (IMiDs):CRBN, the Ikaros zinc finger (IKZF) transcription factors IKZF1 and IKZF3. MS40-induced WDR5 degradation caused disassociation of the MLL/KMT2A complex off chromatin, resulting in decreased H3K4me2. Transcriptomic profiling revealed that targets of both WDR5 and IMiDs:CRBN were significantly repressed by treatment of MS40. In MLL-rearranged leukemias, which exhibit IKZF1 high expression and dependency, co-suppression of WDR5 and Ikaros by MS40 is superior in suppressing oncogenesis to the WDR5 PPI inhibitor, to MS40's non-PROTAC analog controls (MS40N1 and MS40N2, which do not bind CRBN and WDR5, respectively), and to a matched VHL-based WDR5 PROTAC (MS169, which degrades WDR5 but not Ikaros). MS40 suppressed the growth of primary leukemia patient cells in vitro and patient-derived xenografts in vivo. Thus, dual degradation of WDR5 and Ikaros is a promising anti-cancer strategy.

Stacking of bulk solids in terminals, ships, trains, and other bulk solids storage yards is always challenging, considering the requirements of optimal utilization of storage areas. In this study, stacking shapes of a variety of bulk solids with different particle sizes were tested, and the curved shapes of the stockpiles were extracted to establish the actual three-dimensional models of the bulk solids accordingly. The three-dimensional curved stockpiles were used to design the bulk solids stacking strategy where the bulk stacking locations, the stacking volume, and the stacking flatness were optimized. A modified golden section method with a self-influenced factor was developed to improve the calculation efficiency of the stacking algorithm for bulk solids stacking flatness. Furthermore, the bulk solids stacking strategy and algorithm were verified by experiments. The results showed that the curved three-dimensional models were very close to the actual shapes of the bulk solids stockpiles, while the improved golden section method was more accurate and efficient than the traditional golden section method in determining the optimal values of the stacking volumes in terms of flatness. For the different bulk solids tested, the experiment results showed that good flat stacking can be achieved by using the developed stacking strategy.

The influenza virus, a viral respiratory pathogen, causes major morbidity and mortality worldwide. In this study, we compared and analyzed the effectiveness of the rescued two chimeric H1N1 vaccine strains rA/B-California/04/2009 and rA/B-California/07/2009, respectively, which expressed the hemagglutinin of A/California/07/2009 or A/California/04/2009 based on an influenza B virus master donor. The rA/B-California/07/2009 strain was rescued successfully. However, the rA/B-California/04/2009, which expressed the HA of A/California/07/2009 could hardly be generated. In substitution for alanine at residue 212 in the chimeric HA protein of rA/B-California/04/2009 virus, threonine was identified as a deleterious change. The free Gibbs energy change of mutating residue 212 reflected that threonine in site 212 caused a reduction in the stability of rA/B-California HAs. Additionally, with the analysis of binding free energy data and RMSD values of receptor analogs and two chimeric HAs, substitution 212T also conferred decreased receptor-binding avidity. These results suggested that the substitution A212T may enhance the stability and binding affinity of the chimeric H1N1 vaccine strains. This finding may help to design a live-attenuated influenza vaccine with more efficacy.

Due to small magnitude of solar radiation pressure (SRP), the area-mass ratio of the solar sail should be large enough to obtain adequate thrust acceleration. Therefore, the membrane structure is usually adopted for solar sails. However, the membrane barely has out-of-plane stiffness; thus, it is necessary to apply in-plane tension on the membrane for maintaining the plane, which may result in wrinkles. The wrinkle will influence SRP force of solar sails. On the one hand, wrinkled regions of the sail are no longer flat, so the angle between the normal vector of the surface in wrinkled regions and the direction of sunlight differ from a flat sail. On the other hand, wrinkles may cause shadow when the solar sail is almost parallel to sunlight and the shadow region cannot generate SRP force. In this paper, the nonlinear buckling theory is used to propose a numerical calculation method to solve the problem of wrinkling analysis of solar sails with complex boundary. Then, a high-precision method for calculating SRP force of wrinkled solar sails is proposed, consisting of two parts: the infinitesimal element SRP force model and the wrinkle shading model. Numerical simulation result verifies the effectiveness of the wrinkling analysis method and the SRP force calculation method. Furthermore, according to calculation result, wrinkles have a certain influence on the SRP force of the solar sail, which will become significant when the solar sail gets parallel to sunlight.

Lead-free bulk ceramics for advanced pulsed power capacitors show relatively low recoverable energy storage density (Wrec) especially at low electric field condition. To address this challenge, we propose an A-site defect engineering to optimize the electric polarization behavior by disrupting the orderly arrangement of A-site ions, in which $${\rm{B}}{{\rm{a}}_{0.105}}{\rm{N}}{{\rm{a}}_{0.325}}{\rm{S}}{{\rm{r}}_{0.245 - 1.5x}}{_{0.5x}}{\rm{B}}{{\rm{i}}_{0.325 + x}}{\rm{Ti}}{{\rm{O}}_3}$$ Ba 0.105 Na 0.325 Sr 0.245 − 1.5 x □ 0.5 x Bi 0.325 + x TiO 3 ($${\rm{BN}}{{\rm{S}}_{0.245 - 1.5x}}{_{0.5x}}{{\rm{B}}_{0.325 + x}}{\rm{T}}$$ BNS 0.245 − 1.5 x □ 0.5 x B 0.325 + x T , x = 0, 0.02, 0.04, 0.06, and 0.08) lead-free ceramics are selected as the representative. The $${\rm{BN}}{{\rm{S}}_{0.245 - 1.5x}}{_{0.5x}}{{\rm{B}}_{0.325 + x}}{\rm{T}}$$ BNS 0.245 − 1.5 x □ 0.5 x B 0.325 + x T ceramics are prepared by using pressureless solid-state sintering and achieve large Wrec (1.8 J/cm3) at a low electric field (@110 kV/cm) when x = 0.06. The value of 1.8 J/cm3 is super high as compared to all other Wrec in lead-free bulk ceramics under a relatively low electric field (< 160 kV/cm). Furthermore, a high dielectric constant of 2930 within 15% fluctuation in a wide temperature range of 40–350 °C is also obtained in $${\rm{BN}}{{\rm{S}}_{0.245 - 1.5x}}{_{0.5x}}{{\rm{B}}_{0.325 + x}}{\rm{T}}$$ BNS 0.245 − 1.5 x □ 0.5 x B 0.325 + x T (x = 0.06) ceramics. The excellent performances can be attributed to the A-site defect engineering, which can reduce remnant polarization (Pr) and improve the thermal evolution of polar nanoregions (PNRs). This work confirms that the $${\rm{BN}}{{\rm{S}}_{0.245 - 1.5x}}{_{0.5x}}{{\rm{B}}_{0.325 + x}}{\rm{T}}$$ BNS 0.245 − 1.5 x □ 0.5 x B 0.325 + x T (x = 0.06) ceramics are desirable for advanced pulsed power capacitors, and will push the development of a series of Bi0.5Na0.5TiO3 (BNT)-based ceramics with high Wrec and high-temperature stability.

It has been reported that N6-methyladenosine (m6A) methyltransferase-like 3 (METTL3) plays an important role in zygote genome activation during embryonic development, but the effects of METTL3 under oxidative stress in the early development of goat embryos remain largely unknown. In this study, zygotes were monitored at 72 and 168 h after fertilization, and they developed to the 8-cell stage and blastocyst stage under hypoxic conditions and normoxic conditions. Single-cell transcriptome sequencing was performed at the 8-cell stage and the blastocyst stage in the goat embryos, the differentially expressed METTL3 was screened from the sequencing results. We found that microinjection of small interfering RNA (siRNA) against METTL3 caused developmental arrest, both 8-cell rates (37.45 ± 2.21% vs. 47.09 ± 1.38%; P < 0.01) and blastocyst rates of Si-METTL3 (12.17% ± 2.84 vs. 20.83 ± 3.61%; P < 0.01) in Si-METTL3 group were significantly decreased compared with that of control under hypoxic conditions, significant changes were found in the m6A-related genes and the expression levels of critical transcription factors, such as, NANOG, GATA3, CDX2 and SOX17, were decreased. This study revealed the key role of METTL3 in the regulation of embryonic development under oxidative stress, and laid the foundation for further study of the crucial mechanism of oxidative stress during the early embryonic development of goats.

Applying an asymmetric strategy to construct non-fullerene small-molecule acceptors (NFSMAs) in organic solar cells (OSCs) plays a vital role in the development of organic photovoltaic materials. In the past several years, taking advantage of the larger dipole moment and stronger intermolecular interactions, asymmetric NFSMAs have witnessed tremendous progress in OSCs with a power conversion efficiency of over 18%. From a structural point of view, besides the possible changes in the conformation effect on molecular packing, asymmetric acceptors can also achieve a balance between the solubility and the crystallinity. Herein, we systematically investigate the structure–property–performance relationships of asymmetric NFSMAs that have recently emerged and try to clarify the feasibility and practicality of an asymmetric strategy for the design of higher-performance NFSMAs. Finally, we put forward our views and a concise outlook on the asymmetric strategy., An asymmetric strategy to construct non-fullerene small-molecule acceptors in organic solar cells exhibits excellent potential and plays a vital role in the development of organic photovoltaic materials.

Osmium isotopes, whole rock and mineral geochemical data from peridotite xenoliths from two Miocene McMurdo Volcanic Group cinder cones in the Transantarctic Mountains (TAM) in Southern Victoria Land, Antarctica, reveal that the underlying mantle preserves evidence for major mid-Proterozoic lithosphere formation despite the crust being dominated by late Neoproterozoic-Ordovician (~0.65–0.47 Ga) rocks. The Hooper Crags xenolith suite is dominated by harzburgites with highly refractory olivine Mg# (up to 92.3) and depleted bulk rock major and platinum group element + Re abundances, with 187Os/188Os ratios indicating depletion in the mid-Proterozoic. Pipecleaner Glacier xenoliths, 18 km distant, are lherzolites with olivine Mg# ( 250 km) East Antarctic Craton lithosphere shielding the immediately adjacent circum-cratonic mantle from being affected by convective asthenosphere-driven erosion. This contrasts with mantle lithosphere accreted distally to the East Antarctic Craton (represented by the now-detached Zealandia continent), which did not attain extreme thickness and has therefore been more susceptible to tectonic reworking and lateral translation.

Past research has suggested that career growth is positively related to organizational citizenship behavior. Drawing on social exchange theory, this study investigated the possible boundary conditions of this relationship. Data were collected from 209 medical staff of a large hospital in China, following convenience sampling. Results of hierarchical regression analysis indicate that there was a significant positive relationship between career growth and both organizational citizenship behavior directed at individuals (OCBI) and organizational citizenship behavior directed at the organization (OCBO). Compared to OCBI, the positive relationship between career growth and OCBO was stronger. Further, leader–member exchange moderated the relationship between career growth and OCBI. Thus, we recommend that managers of organizations attach importance to employee career growth and the establishment of high-quality exchange relationships when motivating organizational citizenship behavior, especially OCBI.

In this study, we aimed to characterize the anti-type 2 diabetes (T2D) effects of Gastrodia elata Blume extract (GEBE) and determine whether these are mediated through modification of the gut microbiota and bile acids. Mice were fed a high-fat diet (HFD), with or without GEBE, and we found that GEBE significantly ameliorated the HFD-induced hyperglycemia, insulin resistance, and inflammation by upregulating glucose transporter 4 (GLUT4) and inhibiting the toll-like receptor 4-nuclear factor kappa-B signaling pathway in white adipose tissue (WAT). In addition, we found that GEBE increased the abundance of Faecalibaculum and Lactobacillus, and altered the serum bile acid concentrations, with a significant increase in deoxycholic acid. The administration of combined antibiotics to mice to eliminate their intestinal microbiota caused a loss of the protective effects of GEBE. Taken together, these findings suggest that GEBE ameliorates T2D by increasing GLUT4 expression in WAT, remodeling the gut microbiota, and modifying serum bile acid concentrations.

Background: Catastrophic health expenditure (CHE) is an important indicator for measuring health inequality. Previous studies mainly focused on whole populations rather than specific vulnerable groups through the regional survey or cross-sectional data. China’s rural area is often associated with an underdeveloped economy and insufficient health resources. This study aims to update the information on the extent and trends in incidence and inequality of CHE among the households of rural China through longitudinal survey data. Methods：Data were obtained from three waves of the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS): 2013, 2015, and 2018. CHE was defined as the proportion of household health expenditures to the non-food expenditure more than 40% threshold. The inequality of CHE was measured by the concentration index. Decomposition methods were used to decompose the concentration index into its determining components. Results：The incidence of CHE was 23.41% (95% CI: 0.22, 0.25) in 2013, 21.36% (95% CI: 0.20, 0.23) in 2015 and 28.97% (95% CI: 0.27, 0.31) in 2018 in rural households. The concentration index was negative: -0.1528 (95% CI: -0.1941, -0.1115) in 2013, -0.1010 (95% CI: -0.1442, -0. 0577) in 2015 and -0.0819 (95% CI: -0.1170, -0.0467) in 2018. Economic status, age, and chronic disease were the main contributors to the inequality of CHE. Conclusions：The incidence of CHE in rural households of China displayed an upward trend. Furthermore, there existed a strong pro-poor inequality of CHE in rural China. Economic status, age, and chronic diseasewere the main contributors to the pro-poor inequality. Health policies to allocate resources and services are needed to satisfy the needs of rural households and provide more accessible and affordable health services. More concerns need to be directed toward households with chronic diseases and households with the elderly. Meanwhile, policymakers need to pay more attention to relieving the incidence of CHE and promoting health equality.
