Live streaming is one of the modern methods that allows sellers to create, transmit, or broadcast some content on the internet in real-time, and it has been used by many small individual merchants. Understanding how live streaming contributes to online consumption is becoming increasingly important in social commerce as the live-streaming industry has grown more and more popular. However, the number of studies on live streaming is still quite limited in Vietnam. Therefore, this research will look at the mechanism that enables live streaming to boost customer trust in streamers. Using PLS-SEM on a sample of 360 respondents who viewed selling live streams on social network sites in Vietnam, we discovered that other members' endorsement, value similarity, hedonic value, and utilitarian value contribute to good para-social interaction. Next, utilitarian and hedonic values, streamer product expertise, and para-social interaction all positively affect trust in the streamers. Abstract: It is well established the importance of stem cells (SCs) in tissue growth, regeneration and repair, given their ability to self-renew and differentiate into mature cells. Stem cells are present in all individuals and are potentially active to the end of life. However, less is known about their unique function within the immune system as immune regulators and their important task in viral protection. Antiviral resistance is a common mechanism in all cells though stem cells utilize an antiviral RNA interference (RNAi) mechanism, while adult cells react by using the interferondependent repression pathway via interferon-associated protein-based response to induce an antiviral response. Therefore, the idea behind this review is to highlight the mechanisms of viral evasion of host defense, which would then allow us to highlight the rationale use of autologous stem cells and their biochemical and immunological ability to reset the subverted immune responses. Recently, scientists have highlighted their use in the field of immune-therapy, establishing the possibilities of using them outside the conventional protocol with the advancement in manipulating these cells in such a way that specific body activity can be restored. This paper describes the remarkable SCs profile and discusses some ideas regarding their promising use in vivo.

The globally expanding threat of antibiotic resistance calls for the development of new strategies for abating Gram-negative bacterial infections. The use of extracorporeal blood cleansing devices with affinity sorbents to selectively capture bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS), which is the major constituent of Gram-negative bacterial outer membranes and the responsible agent for eliciting an exacerbated innate immune response in the host during infection, has received outstanding interest. For that purpose, molecules that bind tightly to LPS are required to functionalize the affinity sorbents. Particularly, anti-LPS factors (ALFs) are promising LPS-sequestrating molecules. Hence, in this work, molecular dynamics (MD) simulations are used to investigate the interaction mechanism and binding pose of the ALF isoform 3 from Penaeus monodon (ALFPm3), which is referred to as "AL3" for the sake of simplicity, and lipid A (LA, the component of LPS that represents its endotoxic principle). We concluded that hydrophobic interactions are responsible for AL3-LA binding and that LA binds to AL3 within the protein cavity, where it buries its aliphatic tails, whereas the negatively charged phosphate groups are exposed to the medium. AL3 residues that are key for its interaction with LA were identified, and their conservation in other ALFs (specifically Lys39 and Tyr49) was also analyzed. Additionally, based on the MD-derived results, we provide a picture of the possible AL3-LA interaction mechanism. Finally, an in vitro validation of the in silico predictions was performed. Overall, the insights gained from this work can guide the design of novel therapeutics for treating sepsis, since they may be significantly valuable for designing LPS-sequestrating molecules that could functionalize affinity sorbents to be used for extracorporeal blood detoxification. The Quality Index Method (QIM) provides a quick and accurate quality assessment. It makes it possible to calculate preserving time and establish the freshness of sea food. This article introduces a quality assessment program based on the QIM scheme and quality index (QI) for the Jinga shrimp. The research included Jinga shrimps (Metapenaeus affinis), a commercially valuable aquatic species widely distributed throughout the Vietnamese coast. The input data included the changes in appearance and sensory profile of sampled shrimps during 20 days of storage at 0–4°C in ice water. They were used to construct a QIM scale, which was applied to other shrimp samples at different storage time to evaluate the relationship between the QI score and the storage time. After that, the QIM scale was tested on ten random shrimp samples to verify its shelf-life predictive power. This study managed to establish a correlation equation between the QI scores and the storage time with the coefficient of R2= 0.97. This correlation proved highly reliable as verified by comparing the predicted and actual best shelf life of Jinga shrimps stored in ice water for 8–10 days. The QIM program provides a practical and effective science-based tool that delivers fast and reliable results for customers, fishermen, food traders, and aquacultural enterprises.

Purpose: There is a shortage of bilingual speech-language pathologists (SLPs) in the United States. For Vietnamese, less than 1% of SLPs speak the language compared with a Vietnamese American population of > 2.1 million. This study examines the feasibility and social validity of remote child language assessment with the help of a caregiver to address the need for first language assessments among Vietnamese-speaking children. Method: Twenty-one dyads of caregivers and typically developing children (aged 3–6 years) completed two assessment sessions in their first language, Vietnamese, using Zoom videoconferencing. Sessions were counterbalanced between two conditions in which either the clinician or the caregiver was the task administrator. Children's language samples were elicited using narrative tasks. Social validity was also assessed through caregiver and child questionnaires at the end of each session. Results: There were no significant differences between conditions on language sample measures nor the measures of social validity. Both caregivers and their children felt positively about the sessions. The caregivers' feelings were related to their perception of children's feelings about the sessions. Children's feelings were related to their Vietnamese language proficiency, caregiver-reported language ability, and whether they were born outside of the United States. Conclusions: Findings build the evidence base for telepractice as an effective and socially valid service delivery model for bilingual children in the United States. This study supports the potential for caregivers as task administrators in a telepractice setting, making assessment in a child's first language more feasible and accessible. Future investigation is needed to extend results to bilingual populations with disorders.

In structural design standards, loads are often assumed to be random quantities to give load factors. This study deals with the Stochastic Isogeometric Analysis (SIGA) for a Functionally Graded Plate (FGP) subjected to random distribution loads. The spatial random variation of distribution loads is modeled as a homogeneous Gaussian random field in the plane of the functionally graded plate. The governing equation of the functional grade plate is derived using the NURBS-based isogeometric analysis and the refined plate theory. SIGA is developed based on standard NURBS-based isogeometric analysis in conjunction with the first-order perturbation expansions of random loads. This approach was verified with Monte Carlo simulation, and the numerical results showed the effect of random loads on the variation of displacements and stresses of the functionally graded plate.

Introduction: Cutaneous manifestations such as morbilliform rashes, lichen planus, and local injection site patches have been recently published in case reports to occur within days of receiving the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine. The most common drug eruptions have been noted to be delayed hypersensitivity reactions. Objective: To spotlight a vaccine drug eruption case in a patient with a long history of the autoimmune condition, psoriasis vulgaris. Case Presentation: A 51-year-old Caucasian female presented with pruritic and erythematous rashes covering her back, abdomen, pelvis, and both upper extremities emerging one week after receiving the Pfizer BioNTech mRNA vaccine. The rashes worsened, rapidly spreading toward the lower extremities within five days after her second dose. The patient was diagnosed with psoriasiform spongiotic dermatitis compatible with a drug eruption and began loratadine and clobetasol cream treatment and phototherapy. Conclusion: With limited published data available on skin reactions to the COVID-19 vaccine, our case report is among one of the first presentations to describe a morbilliform rash induced by a Pfizer BioNTech mRNA drug-eruption. Although this is a rare case, we may expect more reported drug eruptions to be documented as mass vaccinations continue to be dispensed across the globe. Physicians must be prepared to accurately diagnose and treat dermatologic conditions on patients with and without pre-existing illnesses.

Limonene is a fragrant terpene commonly found in household and cosmetic products due to its fresh aroma. When exposed to air, limonene autoxidizes to form limonene hydroperoxide, a potent allergen that can cause allergic contact dermatitis. Recently, as the popularity and availability of limonene increased, it has been incorporated into novel products such as flavoring agents for electronic cigarettes or vapes. With the rising acceptance and popularity of marijuana, this usage has extended to cannabis vaping products. Here, we report an unusual presentation of an allergic contact dermatitis reaction to limonene hydroperoxide stemming from cannabis vaping products.

Aims: The authors investigated whether displaying more than one homing peptide enhanced the tumor-targeting efficiency of exosomes. Materials & methods: Exosomes from human embryonic kidney cells (HEK293F) were engineered to display either mono- or dual-tumor-penetrating peptides, iRGD and tLyp1. Exosomes were purified via tangential flow filtration followed by ultracentrifugation. Results: When loaded with doxorubicin (Dox), the dual iRGD-tLyp1 exosomes strongly enhanced Dox uptake in both MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cell lines, superior to single iRGD or tLyp1 exosomes. The dual iRGD-tLyp1 exosomal Dox was also the most potent, with IC50/GI50 values being 3.7–17.0-times lower than those of free Dox and other exosomal Dox. Conclusion: Selecting appropriate combinatorial homing peptides could be an approach for future precision nanomedicine.

Lately, emerging data suggest an association between the development of inflammatory bowel disease and anti-interleukin-17 therapy. Megacolon is a life-threatening complication of acute severe ulcerative colitis (ASUC), but its treatment has not yet been established in current practice guidelines. We report a rare case of known psoriasis treated by secukinumab in a patient who presented with ASUC and colonic dilatation. Neither steroids nor standard infliximab regimen was effective. Finally, rescue therapy with accelerated infliximab strategy resulted in excellent recovery. In certain cases of steroid-refractory ASUC complicated by megacolon, accelerated infliximab regimen can be an alternative to surgery.

This paper deals with a continuous beam resting on elastic support with elastic modulus derived from a random process. Governing equations of the stochastic higher-order finite element method of the free vibration of the continuous beam were derived from Hamilton's principle. The random process of elastic modulus was discretized by averaging random variables in each element. A solution for the stochastic eigenvalue problem for the free vibration of the continuous beam was obtained by using the perturbation technique, in conjunction with the finite element method. Spectral representation was used to generate a random process and employ the Monte Carlo simulation. A good agreement was obtained between the results of the first-order perturbation technique and the Monte Carlo simulation.

The role of vocabulary has been proven to be crucial in learning both receptive and productive skills. However, in terms of listening skills, students may face enormous challenges in comprehending the content of a listening passage and, therefore, fail to take notes. This study aimed to investigate the impact of using Quizlet more creatively in the vocabulary section of online academic listening classes. Participants were 62 intermediate-level students from two online academic listening classes, divided into a control and an experimental group. While students in the control group did the tasks in their books or handouts from the teacher, those in the experimental group used Quizlet for eight weeks. A mixed method with t-tests and questionnaires was applied in this research. Results from t-tests revealed that students in the experimental group had better performance in remembering the definition of vocabulary they had learned and using correct vocabulary to fill in the blanks in sentences. Findings in questionnaires supported the improvement in the post-test that the students in the experimental group showed a high level of concentration, engagement, and excitement in class. The study's outcome sheds light on further research on using Quizlet in EFL classrooms.

The Asia-Pacific Evaluation of Cardiovascular Therapies (ASPECT) collaboration was established to inform on percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in the Asia-Pacific Region. Our aims were to (i) determine the operational requirements to assemble an international individual patient dataset and validate the processes of governance, data quality and data security, and subsequently (ii) describe the characteristics and outcomes for ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients undergoing PCI in the ASPECT registry.Seven (7) ASPECT members were approached to provide a harmonised anonymised dataset from their local registry. Patient characteristics were summarised and associations between the characteristics and in-hospital outcomes for STEMI patients were analysed.Six (6) participating sites (86%) provided governance approvals for the collation of individual anonymised patient data from 2015 to 2017. Five (5) sites (83%) provided90% of agreed data elements and 68% of the collated elements had10% missingness. From the registry (n=12,620), 84% were male. The mean age was 59.2±12.3 years. The Malaysian cohort had a high prevalence of previous myocardial infarction (34%), almost twice that of any other sites (p0.001). Adverse in-hospital outcomes were the lowest in Hong Kong whilst in-hospital mortality varied from 2.7% in Vietnam to 7.9% in Singapore.Governance approvals for the collation of individual patient anonymised data was achieved with a high level of data alignment. Secure data transfer process and repository were established. Patient characteristics and presentation varied significantly across the Asia-Pacific region with this likely to be a major predictor of variations in the clinical outcomes observed across the region.

Objectives: This study aims to determine cirrhotic patients’ clinical and laboratory characteristics, thereby examining the correlation between lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio and Child–Pugh and MELD/MELDNa scores. Methods: A cross-sectional study with an analysis of 153 patients admitted to the Department of Gastroenterology–Clinical Hematology at Can Tho Central General Hospital. Data were collected via patient interviews and medical records. Results: The included patients were more likely to be male (66.7%) and were ≥60 years old (51.6%). Excessive alcohol consumption and hepatitis B were the dominant causes of cirrhosis (35.3% and 34.0%). The clinical and laboratory characteristics were similar to previous studies in cirrhotic patients. The mean Child score was 9.3 ± 2.1, including 9.8% of patients with Child A, 44.4% for Child B, and 45.8% for Child C. The mean MELD and MELDNa scores were 16.9 ± 7.1 and 19.4 ± 8.1, respectively. The mean lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR) is 2.0 ± 2.2 (from 0.09 to 25.3), being negatively correlated with the other scores (Pearson correlation coefficients were −0.238; −0.211 and −0.245, respectively, all p-values < 0.01). Patients with LMR below 3.31 were more likely to be classified as Child–Pugh B and C. Conclusion: The correlation between LMR with Child–Pugh, MELD, and MELDNa scores was weak and negative.

Objectives: This paper aimed to review and synthesise the qualitative research evidence on the experiences and perceptions of dementia in Vietnam and among the Vietnamese diaspora. Methods: Systematic searches were conducted in June 2019 using Medline, Embase, Emcare, PsycINFO and Cochrane electronic databases, as well as grey literature. Keywords and Medical Subject Headings [MeSH terms] for dementia and associated terms were combined with keywords for Vietnam and its provinces. Qualitative research articles published in English or Vietnamese were included to examine evidence on the life experiences of Vietnamese people with dementia using thematic analysis. Results: Our searches resulted in 3,940 papers, from which 21 qualitative research studies were included for final analysis. The majority of research has not been undertaken in Vietnam but with the Vietnamese diaspora in Western countries and has taken a cultural perspective to analyses. Research in Western countries has focused on the need for culturally adapted and culturally sensitive models of care. Emerging themes about the life experiences of Vietnamese people with dementia identified from the studies included: many people do not have diagnostic terms for dementia but use the descriptive language of symptoms; stigma was a reported problem and on occasions can be observed in the descriptive language used for people with dementia; cultural and traditional values create both an opportunity and a barrier, supporting compassion, family care and relaxation, but creating barriers to accessing health services or long-term residential care. Conclusions: This is the first systematic review reporting qualitative evidence on the life experiences of people with dementia in Vietnam and among the Vietnamese diaspora. Future research is needed on the voice of people with dementia themselves and their caregivers particularly in Vietnam, and low and middle-income countries with regards to living with dementia, pathways to care from diagnosis, treatment, care and support, additional social care and preparedness for end of life care for people with dementia. Aims: To determine the nutritional status of patients who visited the Nutrition Counselling Center of the National Institue of Nutrition. Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out on 431 patients who visited for nutrition counseling at the Department of Adult Nutrition Consultation, National Institute of Nutrition from May 2021 to April 2022. Nutritional status was classified using criteria for Asians. Results: The rates of chronic energy deficiency, overweight, and obesity were 29.7, 13.5, and 3.7%, respectively. The rates of overweight and obesity were respectively 21.9% and 6.1% in men; and 10.4% and 2.8% in women. The rate of overweight and obesity was higher in men (28%) compared to women (13.2%), while the rate of chronic energy deficiency (CED) was lower in men (22.8%) than that in women (32.2%) (p

Citrin deficiency (CD), a disorder caused by mutations in the SLC25A13 gene, may result in neonatal intrahepatic cholestasis. This study was purposely to explore the mutation spectrum of SLC25A13 gene in Vietnamese CD patients.The 292 unrelated CD patients were first screened for four high-frequency mutations by PCR/PCR-RFLP. Then, Sanger sequencing was performed directly for heterozygous or undetected patients. Novel mutations identified would need to be confirmed by their parents.12 pathogenic SLC25A13 mutations were identified in all probands, including three deletions c.851_854del (p.R284Rfs*3), c.70-63_133del (p.Y24_72Ifs*10), and c.[1956CA;1962del] (p.[N652K;F654Lfs*45]), two splice-site mutations (IVS6+5GA and IVS11+1GA), one nonsense mutations c.1399CT (p.R467*), one duplication mutation c.1638_1660dup (p.A554fs*570), one insertion IVSl6ins3kb (p.A584fs*585), and four missense mutation c.2TC (p.M1T), c.1231GA (p.V411M), c.1763GA (p.R588Q), and c.135GC (p.L45F). Among them, c.851_854del (mut I) was the most identified mutant allele (91.78%) with a total of 247 homozygous and 42 heterozygous genotypes of carriers. Interestingly, two novel mutations were identified: c.70-63_133del (p.Y24_72Ifs*10) and c.[1956CA;1962del] (p.[N652K;F654Lfs*45]).The SLC25A13 mutation spectrum related to intrahepatic cholestasis infants in Vietnam revealed a quite similar pattern to Asian countries' reports. This finding supports the use of targeted SLC25A13 mutation for CD screening in Vietnam and contributed to the SLC25A13 mutation spectra worldwide. It also helps emphasize the role of DNA analysis in treatment, genetic counseling, and prenatal diagnosis.

A photocrosslinkable donor, PM6-X30, has been designed by engineering the side chains of the PM6 backbone. A high PCE of 12.33% was achieved with significantly enhanced thermal stability.

Small and medium enterprises (SMEs), which make up over 90% of the total number of enterprises in Vietnam, play important roles in economic development not only in Hanoi but also in the whole country. As an effective tool in business management, accounting supplies important information for making decisions. Recently, information technology in business, especially in accounting work or e-accounting, has increased, and along with many advantages in terms of job productivity, has also been considered as the source of changing the roles of accountants in business. In order to show evidence of these changes as being the background for issuing solutions to improve information technology applications in accounting areas of enterprises, this study conducted a survey of 186 small and medium-sized enterprises in Hanoi. The research results showed that the lack of knowledge of current accounting staff is one of the two biggest obstacles to improving the application of information technology or developing e-accounting in accounting areas of small and medium-sized enterprises. Almost all the enterprises accepted the positive features of information technology for accounting work, however they still strongly considered the dynamics as well as the satisfaction of specific information technology products in their accounting work, especially in dealing with new business transactions.

Currently, nearly 36.5 million people live with Alzheimer’s disease worldwide, and acetylcholinesterase inhibition is considered the main treatment strategy against it. Seaweeds (or macroalgae) are a natural source of high-value bioactive compounds and have great potential in the production of health foods/foods, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, animal feeds, biofertilizers, and biofuels. The most studied and applied seaweed species include red seaweed (Rhodophyta), green seaweed (Chlorophyta) and brown seaweed (Phaeophyta). This study aimed to evaluate the antioxidant and neuroprotective activities of extracts/substances isolated with solvents including ethanol 75o and 96o, water, n-hexane, ethyl acetate under normal and ultrasonic conditions (power 80W, frequency 4.7 kHz and for 1 hour) from 5 economically important seaweed species belonging to genera Caulerpa, Sargassum, Gracilaria, Ulva and Kappaphycus collected in Ninh Thuan and Khanh Hoa provinces, Vietnam. The results have shown that 05/30 extracts and substances (including SaE96S, SaH, SaHW, SaEA and fucosterol) isolated from five seaweed species exhibited high antioxidant activity through the free radical screening method using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) (with EC50 values < 5 mg/mL for extracts and EC50 value < 2 mM for substance) in comparison with positive control ascorbic acid (EC50 = 0.015 mg/mL); acetylcholinesterase inhibitory activity using acetylcholinesterase inhibitor screening KIT (with IC50 values of < 200 µg/mL for both extracts and substances), compared with positive control galantamine (with IC50 value of 52,8 µg/mL). The extracts/substances were able to protect the cell against cytotoxity in the C6 alzheimer’s disease cell model induced by amyloid beta-protein fragment (Aβ25-35). The results achieved from this research have proven that the extracts/substances isolated from seaweed species were a potential source of medicinal agents for the prevention and treatment of alzheimer’s disease.

Background: Adolescence is vulnerable subjects and faces many risks that greatly impact their health and development in the future, but adolescents are not really getting the proper care from the health care system. This study aimed to examine the prevalence of health risk behaviours among adolescents in Thua Thien Hue Province, Vietnam, and to determine related factors to adolescents’ health risk behaviours. Materials and Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted on 934 adolescents in Thua Thien Hue province, with a multi-stage sampling method. The Youth Risk Behaviour Survey of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention was used for data collection in this study. The SPSS 20.0 software was used to analyse data. Results: The proportion of overweight-obesity adolescents accounted for 14.6%. The prevalence of adolescent bullying was 14.0%, the higher the adolescent high, the lower the risk of bullying (OR=0.981, p=0.03). The proportion of smoking was low (2.8%), while the alcohol use rate accounted for 10.0%. Adolescents in high school have a higher risk of smoking and alcohol use than those in secondary school. The proportion of adolescents who attempted suicide was slightly high (16.0%). Adolescents who felt lonely, whose parents did not know what the adolescent did in their free time, and does not respect them were several factors that increase suicide intention. Conclusions: School adolescent violence, overweight-obese status, alcohol use, smoking, and suicide intention are health problems occurring among adolescents in Thua Thien Hue. Besides, the feeling of loneliness increases the risk of suicide intention. Adolescents need to receive proper attention from their parents, as well as the healthcare system. This work reported the successful synthesis of ilmenite-spinel (1 − x)NiTiO3-xMnFe2O4 (x = 0, 0.05 and 0.10) composites by a simple sol-gel method. Phase formation of composites was analyzed by the X-ray diffraction method. All the synthesized samples formed diphasic ilmenite-ferrite composites without any trace of impurity or intermediate phase. The optical properties of synthesized composites were characterized by diffuse reflectance UV–visible spectroscopy. MnFe2O4 phase modified the optical band gap of NiTiO3 material and shifted its optical bandgap value toward lower energy. Ferroelectric and magnetic hysteresis loops were investigated at room temperature. The hysteresis loops indicated the typical ferromagnetic and ferroelectric nature of all composites at room temperature. In P-E loops, the remanent polarization (Pr ) and saturation polarization (Ps ) showed a slight increase in the sample with 5% MnFe2O4 phase addition. However, the lossy P-E loop was observed in the sample with the addition of 10% MnFe2O4. The presence of ferrite MnFe2O4 phase in NiTiO3 material enhanced the magnetic properties of NiTiO3 at room temperature. The M-H loops of NiTiO3-MnFe2O4 composites presented a ferromagnetic behavior with a dramatic increase in saturation magnetization with an increase of ferrite phase addition.
