Funding Acknowledgements Type of funding sources: Public grant(s) – National budget only. Main funding source(s): Ministry of Health & Welfare, Republic of Korea Background Rhythm control is associated with better cardiovascular outcomes than usual care among patients recently diagnosed with atrial fibrillation (AF). However, there are limited data on the outcomes of AF ablation according to sex. The purpose of this study was to evaluate gender differences in the effects of early rhythm control compared to rate control on the primary composite outcome of cardiovascular death, ischaemic stroke, hospitalisation for heart failure (HF), or myocardial infarction. Methods We conducted a retrospective population-based cohort study including 22635 patients with AF newly treated with rhythm control (antiarrhythmic drugs or ablation) or rate control in 2011-2015 from the Korean National Health Insurance Service database. Propensity overlap weighting was used. Results Among patients with early AF treatment (initiated within 1 year since diagnosis), compared with rate control, rhythm control was associated with a similar lower risk of the primary composite outcome both women (weighted incidence rate per 100 person-years: 8.68 in rhythm control vs. 10.3 in rate control; hazard ratio [HR] 0.79, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.69 to 0.90; P Conclusions Early initiation of rhythm control was associated with a lower risk of primary outcome in both genders. However, the effective rhythm control treatment initiation time for primary outcome, stroke and HF-related admission was different in both genders. For rhythm control treatment to be effective, women should start treatment earlier than men.

We report the first (in)elastic scattering measurement of ^{25}Al+p with the capability to select and measure in a broad energy range the proton resonances in ^{26}Si contributing to the ^{22}Mg(α,p) reaction at type I x-ray burst energies. We measured spin-parities of four resonances above the α threshold of ^{26}Si that are found to strongly impact the ^{22}Mg(α,p) rate. The new rate advances a state-of-the-art model to remarkably reproduce light curves of the GS 1826-24 clocked burster with mean deviation

In this study, a system for automatically picking mechanical parts required in the industrial automation field was proposed. In particular, using deep learning, bolts and nuts were recognized and geometric information of these parts was extracted. By applying YOLOv3 specialized in high recognition rate and fast processing speed, the recognition of target object, location, and postural information were obtained. The geometric information for the bolt can be obtained by creating two bounding boxes and calculating the orientation vector formed by these center values of two bounding boxes after successfully detecting two individual bounding boxes. Moreover, to obtain more precise geometric information on bolts and nuts, image distortion compensation on the detected object was done after detecting the center value of the bolt and nut through YOLOv3. Based on this result, it was proven that an automatic picking of the mechanical parts using a five-axis robot was successfully implemented.

A freeze casting technique was processed to fabricate porous mullite/alumina-layered composite with a gradient in porosity and pore size. In this work, a camphene/coal fly ash slurry system with an appropriate addition of Al2O3 was used. The pore channels with circular-shaped cross-sections were aligned along the solidification direction of molten camphene and connected with each other. The pore morphology was influenced by the starting solids loading and sintering temperature. The compressive strength of monolithic specimen greatly decreased when the porosity increased. However, the layered composites with a graded porosity exhibited improved compressive strength with minor decrease in porosity, probably due to the formation of residual compressive stress and relatively dense glass phase in the outer layer.

Background: Early mobilization (EM) post-stroke is recommended; however, the ideal timing and nature of EM, and factors that may influence EM practice are unclear. Objectives: The primary objective was to describe the type and extent of mobilization 0–48 h post-stroke admission to acute hospital care. A secondary objective was to evaluate whether pre-stroke functional level, stroke severity, tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) administration, and level of consciousness (LOC) predicted any passive, any active, and out-of-bed mobilization (i.e. sitting at edge-of-bed, standing, or ambulation) 0–24 h post-admission. Methods: A quantitative, cross-sectional, retrospective review of health records of patients admitted to a specialized acute stroke center in 2016 was conducted. Results: Data from 296 eligible health records were abstracted. Median age was 73 years, and 87% of patients had sustained an ischemic stroke. Active, passive, and out-of-bed mobilization occurred in 91.6%, 57.1%, and 24.3% of patients by 12 h post-admission, respectively, and 99.3%, 78.4%, and 77.4% of patients by 48 h post-admission, respectively. Administration of tPA, stroke severity, and impaired LOC, were each associated with any passive mobilization, and no tPA administration, stroke severity, and normal LOC were each associated with out-of-bed mobilization 0–24 h post-admission (p Conclusions: Almost all patients receive active mobilization by 12 h post-admission whereas out-of-bed mobilization is infrequent. In the first 24 h post-admission, clinicians may prioritize passive over out-of-bed mobilization when patients have received tPA, present with severe stroke, and have impaired LOC. This conservative approach is unsurprising given the lack of clear practice recommendations for these situations.

We demonstrate a facile approach to fabricate Ag nanomesh transparent conducting electrodes (TCEs) on a flexible substrate using nanoimprint lithography (NIL) and transfer printing without a conducting polymer. The Ag nanomesh TCEs exhibited a high transmittance of ∼88% and a low sheet resistance of ∼15 Ω sq−1 as well as superior mechanical flexibility. Furthermore, flexible inverted organic solar cells (IOSCs) with Ag nanomesh TCEs exhibited a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of ∼7.15% under 100 mW cm−2 AM 1.5G illumination as well as superior long-term stability under ambient conditions. This type of highly flexible and transparent Ag nanomesh electrode is a promising candidate for use with TCEs in various optoelectronic devices.

Background: Imaging methods that use ionizing radiation in emergency departments (EDs) have increased with advances in radiological diagnostic methods. Physician and nurse awareness of the radiation dose in the ED and the associated cancer risks to which the patients are exposed were surveyed with a questionnaire. Methods: A total of 191 subjects in six EDs participated in this study. ED physicians and ED nurses were asked about the risks and the radiation doses of imaging methods ordered in the ED. The differences between the two groups were compared using Student’s t‑test for continuous variables. A Fisher’s exact and Chi‑squared tests were used for categorical variables. Results: A total of 82 ED physicians and 109 ED nurses completed the questionnaire; 38 (46.3%) physicians and 8 (7.3%) nurses correctly answered the question about the chest X‑ray radiation dose. A question about the number of chest X‑rays that is equivalent to the dose of a pelvic X‑ray was answered correctly by 5 (6.1%) physicians and 9 (8.3%) nurses (P = 0.571). Questions regarding abdominal computed tomography (CT), chest CT, brain CT, abdominal ultrasonography, and brain magnetic resonance imaging were answered correctly more frequently by the physician group than the nurse group (P < 0.05). The risk of developing cancer over a lifetime due to a brain CT was correctly answered by 21 (25.6%) physicians and 30 (27.5%) nurses (P = 0.170). A similar question regarding abdominal CT was correctly answered by 21 (25.6%) physicians and 42 (38.5%) nurses (P = 0.127).Conclusions: Knowledge of the radiation exposure of radiology examinations was lower in nurses than physicians, but knowledge was poor in both groups. ED physicians and nurses should be educated about radiation exposure and cancer risks associated with various diagnostic radiological methods. Keywords: Diagnostic imaging, emergencies, radiation dosage

Epoxy resins are widely used in structural repairing and strengthening work, but most of them typically require primer works and are vulnerable to water. To overcome such limits, a non-shrinkage chemical grout (NCG) has been developed in this research, which provides a strong chemical bond strength utilizing Silanol/Si-OH. The material characteristics of the NCG were investigated from experiments and the applications of non-shrinkage chemical grout were also provided. The experimental investigation indicates that NCG has much improved performance compared to a typical epoxy product, which implies that the NCG can be widely used for repairing and strengthening work.

This paper deals with the creation of a new, low-cost point/position tracking system that can measure deformations in engineering structures with simple commercially widespread cameras. Though point tracking systems do exist today, such as Stereo Pattern Recognition (SPR) and Projection Moire Interferometry (PMI) systems, they are far too costly to use to analyze small, simple structures because complex optical components such as large flashes, high-resolution cameras and data acquisition systems with several computers are required. We developed a point tracking system using commercial cameras. This system used IR LEDs and commercial IR CCD cameras to minimize the interference posed by other extraneous light sources. The main algorithm used for this system is an optical point tracking algorithm, which is composed of the point extraction algorithm and the point matching algorithm for 3-D motion estimation. a series of verification tests were performed. Then, the developed point tracking system was applied to measure deformations of an acrylic plate under a mechanical load. The measured deformations of the acrylic plate matched well with the numerical analysis results. The results indicate that the developed point tracking system is reliable enough to measure continuous deformed shapes of various engineering structures.

Information of flow-induced vibration (FIV) in two-phase flow with wire coil inserts at atmospheric pressure, is presented in this study. FIV was measured in an upward vertical tube for four different wire coil inserts using an air–water mixture as process fluid. Vibration increased along with mass flux and quality. The narrower wire coils produced more vibration. The FIV prediction correlation for two-phase flow with wire coil inserts was experimentally developed with coefficient correlation value of 0.956.

The effects of mechanical vibrations on critical heat flux (CHF) are examined in this study at atmospheric pressure in vertical annulus tube under electrically heated condition. Vibration of heating rod was increased as flow regime changed from subcooled region to bubbly region. CHF was increased by mechanical vibration up to 16.4%. Vibration amplitude was one of the effective parameters on CHF enhancement. It seems to come from turbulence increasing and increment of deposition of droplet from the liquid film by vibration. Vibration is an effective method for heat transfer enhancement as well as CHF enhancement.

Recently as a result of excessive development. pollution of the coast and occurrence of a typhoon year after year, fishermen suffer heavy losses in fish farming which is the one of the most important earnings ways. For solution of these problems, we need to go out into the open sea from an inland sea. In this study we suggested new fish cage which makes up for the structural weakness of existing wooden fish cages. It can farm fishes in the open sea of high wave and current with no damages from a typhoon. We substituted TPU(Thermoplastic Polyurethane) air chamber for existing styrofoam flotage which was harmful to the environment and impermanent. We used PE(Polyethylene) pipes for the maintenance of formation and the prevention of buoyancy loss caused by a breakdown of flotage. PE b rackets were designed to combine PE pipes with TPU air-chamber flotage. It has good strength and light weight. As a result of modeling test. it is great in buoyancy, strength and flexibility against wave. Because it can control buoyancy arbitrarily, moreover, we expect that it will reduce damages of a red water by applying it as semi-submerged fish cages.

Multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) were displaced on low-friction graphite surfaces in an easily controlled fashion by moving a voltage-applied tip of an atomic force microscope (AFM) across them. MWNTs on Si (5 5 12) surfaces were not displaced using the same electrostatic parameters. The friction at a Si (5 5 12) surface was measured to be 29 times larger than that of a graphite surface. We found that the electrostatic force applied to the MWNT was larger than the frictional force between the MWNT and the graphite surface, but much smaller than the frictional force on the Si (5 5 12) surface, allowing us to conclude that the electrostatic force may be responsible for the displacement of the MWNT on the graphite surface.

In order to gain an understanding of the relationship between critical heat flux (CHF) and flow-induced vibration (FIV), an experimental investigation was carried out with vertical round tube at the atmosphere. In the both condition of departure from nucleate boiling (DNB) and the liquid film dryout (LFD), CHF increases up to 12.6% with vibration intensity, represented by vibrational Reynolds number ( Re v ). CHF enhancement by tube vibration seems to come from the reinforced flow turbulent mixing and the increment of deposition of droplet into the liquid film. Based on the experimental results, an empirical correlation is proposed for the prediction of CHF enhancement ratio. The correlation predicts the CHF enhancement ratio ( E n ) with reasonable accuracy, with an average error rate of 4.5 and 26.5% for RMS. Vibration is an effective method for heat transfer enhancement as well as CHF. Nonetheless, the risk of system failure by FIV has made it very difficult to take advantage of vibration in heat transfer facilities. Therefore, it is necessary to find out optimal fuel design enhancing the CHF but preventing FIV damage in an acceptable vibration range.

This paper presents the closed-form kinematic solutions, position and velocity of a non-parallel cable reeving crane system. These solutions are necessary in order to control a container crane that is widely used in cargo terminals. One PSD (position sensitive device) sensor and two IR (infrared) emissive beacons are used to find the angular position and angular velocity information of two reference points of a moving spreader. The sensor and beacons are mounted on trolley and reference points of spreader respectively. By using this information, the exact position and velocity of the spreader are determined analytically. These results can be used in the anti-sway and anti-skew control of a container crane.

Drug resistance to BCR-ABL1 tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) and disease progression to blast crisis (BC) are major clinical problems in chronic myeloid leukemia (CML); however, underlying mechanisms governing this process remain to be elucidated. Here, we report Cordon-bleu protein-like 1 (Cobll1) as a distinct molecular marker associated with drug resistance as well as progression to BC. In detail, Cobll1 increases IKKγ stability, leading to NF-κB activation and reduction of nilotinib-dependent apoptosis, suggesting Cobll1-mediated NF-κB could be involved in drug resistance. Recently, NF-κB signalling has been highlighted as a core mechanism for chronic phase (CP)-BC progression, stem cell survival and tyrosine kinase inhibitor resistance. We also demonstrated that high expression of Cobll1 confers drug resistance to tyrosine kinase inhibitors in CML cell line as well as patient samples. The analysis of large sets of primary CML samples (n=90) shows that Cobll1 expression is dramatically increased in BC but not in CP, which is correlated with a poor survival rate (P=0.002). Moreover, our studies show that Cobll1 is highly expressed in CD34+ primitive stem cell populations, and the zebrafish paralog Cobll1b is important for normal hematopoiesis during embryonic development. Based on these results, we propose that Cobll1 is a novel biomarker and potential therapeutic target for CML-BC.

We perform a search for new physics using final states consisting of three leptons and a large imbalance in transverse momentum resulting from proton-antiproton collisions at 1.96 TeV center-of-mass energy. We use data corresponding to 5.8fb-1 of integrated luminosity recorded by the CDF II detector at the Tevatron collider. Our main objective is to investigate possible new low-momentum (down to 5GeV/c) multileptonic final states not investigated by LHC experiments. Relative to previous CDF analyses, we expand the geometric and kinematic coverage of electrons and muons and utilize tau leptons that decay hadronically. Inclusion of tau leptons is particularly important for supersymmetry (SUSY) searches. The results are consistent with standard-model predictions within 1.85σ. By optimizing our event selection to increase sensitivity to the minimal supergravity (mSUGRA) SUSY model, we set limits on the associated production of chargino and next-to-lightest neutralino, the SUSY partners of the electroweak gauge bosons. We exclude cross sections up to 0.1 pb and chargino masses up to 168GeV/c2 at 95% C.L., for a suitable set of mSUGRA parameters. We also exclude a region of the two-dimensional space of the masses of the neutralino and the supersymmetric partner of the tau lepton, not previously excluded at the Tevatron. © 2014 American Physical Society., This work was supported by the U.S. Department of Energy and National Science Foundation; the Italian Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare; the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan; the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada; the National Science Council of the Republic of China; the Swiss National Science Foundation; the A. Searches for a scalar top quark and a scalar bottom quark have been performed using a data sample of 438 pb-1 at centre-of-mass energies of sqrt(s) = 192 - 209 GeV collected with the OPAL detector at LEP. No evidence for a signal was found. The 95% confidence level lower limit on the scalar top quark mass is 97.6 GeV if the mixing angle between the supersymmetric partners of the left- and right-handed states of the top quark is zero. When the scalar top quark decouples from the Z0 boson, the lower limit is 95.7 GeV. These limits were obtained assuming that the scalar top quark decays into a charm quark and the lightest neutralino, and that the mass difference between the scalar top quark and the lightest neutralino is larger than 10 GeV. The complementary decay mode of the scalar top quark decaying into a bottom quark, a charged lepton and a scalar neutrino has also been studied. The lower limit on the scalar top quark mass is 93.0 GeV for this decay mode, if the mass difference between the scalar top quark and the scalar neutrino is greater than 10 GeV and if the mixing angle of the scalar top quark is zero. From a search for the scalar bottom quark, a mass limit of 96.6 GeV was obtained if the mass difference between the scalar bottom quark and the lightest neutralino is larger than 10 GeV., Comment: 19 pages, 5 figures

Type A spermatogonia, including spermatogonial stem cells, are primary cells that maintain spermatogenesis and produce spermatozoa. Many spermatogonial markers have been reported in rodents. However, few markers have been identified in pig spermatogonia. Despite the lack of information, it is necessary to separate pure spermatogonial cells from whole testicular cells to understand the mechanism of spermatogenic meiosis and to establish spermatogonial stem cells for further biotechnological studies. The purpose of this study was to identify glial cell-derived neurotrophic factor receptor alpha-1 (GFRα-1) as a surface marker for early spermatogonia in neonatal pig testes. Histological analysis of 3-day-old pig testes revealed that type A spermatogonia, which lack heterochromatin, could be distinguished in neonatal pig testes. Immunohistochemistry of neonatal pig testes with GFRα-1 antibody identified that some of the spermatogonial cells expressed GFRα-1 on the cell membrane. Co-immunostaining with both GFRα-1 and protein gene product 9.5 (PGP 9.5) detected PGP 9.5 in all spermatogonia of neonatal pig testes, whereas GFRα-1 was not detected on the surface of some PGP 9.5-positive cells, indicating that some of the spermatogonial cells were PGP 9.5 positive and GFRα-1 negative. After immunomagnetic cell sorting using a GFRα-1 antibody, both GFRα-1-positive and GFRα-1-negative cells expressed PGP 9.5. Identifying the differential mRNA expression of both GFRα-1-positive and GFRα-1-negative cells using reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction analysis revealed the expression of promyelocytic leukaemia zinc finger, octamer-binding protein 4 and homeobox transcription factor in both cell types. These results suggest that GFRα-1-positive and GFRα-1-negative spermatogonia exist in PGP 9.5-positive spermatogonia during the early stage of pig testes spermatogenesis, and that GFRα-1 can be used for sorting PGP 9.5-expressing spermatogonia.

The paper proposes an architecture for a unified computer-aided manufacturing ( cam ) software system for die and mould machining. Under the proposed architecture, all the major functions of various types of cam system are handled in a unified fashion: (a) the verification and correction of NC codes, (b) the generation of gouge-free NC codes from cad -file and coordinate-measuring machine data, (c) the accomodation of feedback and feedforward information, (d) the automatic generation of NC codes (i.e. generative NC), and (e) the support of concurrent-engineering and intelligent-manufacturing frameworks. The concept of a ‘soft’ master model is a key to the unified architecture. An approach to the implementation of such a unified cam system is also presented.

30 páginas, 12 figuras, 8 tablas.-- PACS numbers: 14.40Nd;13.25.Hw;29.85.Fj.-- CDF Collaboration: et al., The collection of a large number of B-hadron decays to hadronic final states at the CDF II Detector is possible due to the presence of a trigger that selects events based on track impact parameters. However, the nature of the selection requirements of the trigger introduces a large bias in the observed proper-decay-time distribution. A lifetime measurement must correct for this bias, and the conventional approach has been to use a Monte Carlo simulation. The leading sources of systematic uncertainty in the conventional approach are due to differences between the data and the Monte Carlo simulation. In this paper, we present an analytic method for bias correction without using simulation, thereby removing any uncertainty due to the differences between data and simulation. This method is presented in the form of a measurement of the lifetime of the B- using the mode B-→D0π-. The B- lifetime is measured as τB-=1.663±0.023±0.015 ps, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. This new method results in a smaller systematic uncertainty in comparison to methods that use simulation to correct for the trigger bias., This work was supported by the U.S. Department of Energy and National Science Foundation; the Italian Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare; the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan; the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada; the National Science Council of the Republic of China; the Swiss National Science Foundation; the A.P. We study the diffusion and rotation of Pt nanoclusters supported on graphite. Using molecular dynamics simulation, we reveal that the supported Pt clusters have two types of bottom layers: a hexagonal lattice and a rectangular lattice. The diffusion rate of the Pt clusters mainly depends on the types of bottom layers. This observation is explained by the periodic lattice matching between the bottom layer and the graphite. In addition to lateral diffusion, we find that the Pt clusters with a rectangular or mixed lattice tend to rotate or wag on the z axis. By using the rotation rates and total movements of all atoms, we show that the rotation of a Pt cluster can be induced by the difference in the diffusion rates for the different types of bottom layers. This outcome is well in accord with our diffusion mechanism.

The wettability and reactivity of pressureless sintered Si3N4 by powdered Cu-Ti alloy were investigated using sessile drop tests conducted in a vacuum. Bonding of Si3N4 to itself was also carried out and joint strength was evaluated by compressive shear testing. The correlation of wetting behaviour with reaction and bond strength was interpreted. The wettability of Cu-Ti alloys on Si3N4 was improved greatly by addition of titanium up to 50 wt%. However, the reaction-layer thickness was increased up to 10 wt% and thereafter decreased up to 50 wt%. We propose the dovetail model which describes the reaction-layer growth behaviour with titanium. As the titanium content was increased, it tended to form a continuous thin reaction layer which greatly improved the wettability. From metallographic and XRD analyses, TiN and Ti suicide were found in the reaction layer. The thermodynamic reaction for TiN formation was suggested to be Si3N4(s) + 4Ti (1 − sol) = 4TiN(s) + 3Si(s). Ti-silicide might be formed during cooling by the reaction with Ti and Si which had been decomposed from Si3N4, diffused to and dissolved in the liquid Cu-rich alloy. The reaction layer growth was controlled by diffusion of nitrogen or titanium in the reaction layer according to the titanium concentration. The shear strength of Si3N4 to Si3N4 was affected by the morphology and thickness of the reaction layer rather than the wettability. As the titanium content increased, shear strength also increased rapidly up to 5 wt% and then slowly up to 50 wt%. As the reaction temperature and time were increased, shear strength was lowered due to the greater thickness of the reaction layer despite improved wettability.

The authors present results of a search for anomalous production of events containing a charged lepton ({ell}, either e or {mu}) and a photon ({gamma}), both with high transverse momentum, accompanied by additional signatures, X, including missing transverse energy (E{sub T}) and additional leptons and photons. We use the same kinematic selection criteria as in a previous CDF search, but with a substantially larger data set, 305 pb{sup -1}, a p{bar p} collision energy of 1.96 TeV, and the upgraded CDF II detector. We find 42 {ell}{gamma}E{sub T} events versus a standard model expectation of 37.3 {+-} 5.4 events. The level of excess observed in Run I, 16 events with an expectation of 7.6 {+-} 0.7 events (corresponding to a 2.7{sigma} effect), is not supported by the new data. In the signature of {ell}{ell}{gamma} + X we observe 31 events versus an expectation of 23.0 {+-} 2.7 events. In this sample we find no events with an extra photon or E{sub T} and so find no events like the one ee{gamma}{gamma}E{sub T} event observed in Run I.

A search for new particles (X) that decay to electron or muon pairs has been performed using approximately 200 pb{sup -1} of pp collision data at {radical}(s)=1.96 TeV collected by the CDF II experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron. Limits on {sigma}(pp{yields}X)BR(X{yields}ll) are presented as a function of dilepton invariant mass m{sub ll}>150 GeV/c{sup 2}, for different spin hypotheses (0, 1, or 2). The limits are approximately 25 fb for m{sub ll}>600 GeV/c{sup 2}. Lower mass bounds for X from representative models beyond the standard model including heavy neutral gauge bosons are presented.

We present a measurement of the ratio of top-quark branching fractions R = B(t --> Wb)/B(t --> Wq), where q can be a b, s, or a d quark, using lepton-plus-jets and dilepton data sets with an integrated luminosity of approximately 162 pb(-1) collected with the Collider Detector at Fermilab during Run II of the Tevatron. The measurement is derived from the relative numbers of tt events with different multiplicity of identified secondary vertices. We set a lower limit of R > 0.61 at 95% confidence level.

We report a measurement of the rate of prompt diphoton production in pp collisions at 1.96 TeV using a data sample of 207 pb 1 collected with the upgraded Collider Detector at Fermilab. The background from nonprompt sources is determined using a statistical method based on differences in the electromagnetic showers. The cross section is measured as a function of the diphoton mass, the transverse momentum of the diphoton system, and the azimuthal angle between the two photons and is found to be consistent with perturbative QCD predictions. © 2005 The American Physical Society.

The search for pair production of scalar top quarks in an R-parity violating supersymmetry scenario in 106 pb-f of pp collisions at √s = 1.8 TeV collected by the Collider Detector at Fermilab was discussed. It was found that in this mode each t1 decayed into a τ lepton and a b quark. The events with two τ's, one decaying leptonically and one decaying hadronically and two jets were searched. It was observed that a 95% confidence level lower limit was set on the t 1 mass at 122 GeV/c2 for Br(t1 → τb).

We have measured the number of like-sign (LS) and opposite-sign (OS) lepton pairs arising from double semileptonic decays of $b$ and $\bar{b}$-hadrons, pair-produced at the Fermilab Tevatron collider. The data samples were collected with the Collider Detector at Fermilab (CDF) during the 1992-1995 collider run by triggering on the existence of $\mu \mu$ and $e \mu$ candidates in an event. The observed ratio of LS to OS dileptons leads to a measurement of the average time-integrated mixing probability of all produced $b$-flavored hadrons which decay weakly, $\bar{\chi} = 0.152 \pm 0.007$ (stat.) $\pm 0.011$ (syst.), that is significantly larger than the world average $\bar{\chi} = 0.118 \pm 0.005$., Comment: 47 pages, 10 figures, 15 tables Submitted to Phys. Methods and results We report here with a case corresponding to the above disease entity, in which pulmonary veins were drained into a separate posterior chamber, which was connected to the common atrium, thus forming cor triatriatum. A 42-yearold Asian female was consulted for operation of p-ECD and PLSVC, which were detected during the evaluation of complete heart block. She complained of worsening dyspnea and syncope attack for recent one year. The PLSVC had no connection with right sided SVC and was thought to be drained into the left atrial roof directly. The operation was carried out under standard hypothermic cardiopulmonary bypass. A large common atrium without septal remnant was encountered on opening right atrium. The coronary sinus opening was absent and PLSVC was directly drained into atrial roof, to the right of the left atrial appendage. An opening measuring 3x3cm, which at first was confused as atrial septal defect, was seen to the right of PLSVC. An accessory chamber, draining all four pulmonary veins was connected to the common atrium by this opening. After closing mitral valve cleft, a generous intraatrial patch made of bovine pericardium was used to partition the common atrium. The opening connecting pulmonary venous chamber to the atrium was widely extended inferiorly and the upper part of the opening was partly closed to minimize distortion of the patch. The left atrial appendage was also incorporated into the right side of patch to simplify the baffling procedure. The tricuspid annuoplasty was carried out and permanent epicardial pacemaker was implanted n the end. The patient recovered without events.

1 The present study was undertaken to examine the effects of H2-receptor antagonists including newly developed mifentidine derivatives, IY-80843 and IY-80845, on cytochrome P450(P450) in vitro and in vivo. 2 Initially, 3-methylcholanthrene-, phenobarbital-, ethanol- and dexamethasone-induced liver microsomes were prepared from male ICR mice to study in vitro effects of above chemicals on ethoxyresorufin O- deethylase(EROD), pentoxyresorufin O-dealkylase(PROD), p-nitrophenol hydroxylase and erythromycin N-demethy lase(ERDM) activities, respectively. It was found that hist amine, cimetidine and famotidine were not inhibitory to four enzyme activities. Meanwhile, mifentidine slightly inhibited EROD and PROD activities and its derivatives IY-80843 and IY-80845 strongly inhibited PROD, EROD and ERDM activities. 3 Prolongation of hexobarbital-induced sleeping time was determined in male ICR mice to confirm in vitro inhibito ry effects of mifentidine and its derivatives in vivo. It was observed that cimetidine, mifentidine, IY-80843 and IY- 80845 caused dose-dependent increases in the sleeping time, indicating the inhibition of P450 responsible for hexobarbital metabolism. 4 It was concluded that mifentidine and its derivatives are P450 inhibitors and that our newly synthesized IY-80843 is most inhibitory. 5 The present results indicate that mifentidine and its derivatives not only antagonise the H 2-receptor but also inhibit P450 enzymes.

We have demonstrated a simple method for the synthesis of large area and mono- to few-layer graphene on a nickel foil. A cellulose acetate laminate film was coated on a nickel foil as a solid carbon source. Compared to previous synthesis methods using solid carbon sources, the mentioned carbon source can be easily coated on the metal catalyst layer. The uniform graphene layer could be grown on the nickel catalyst layer due to the uniformity of the solid carbon source layer, which was made of a cellulose acetate laminate film coated by the cold press lamination process. The graphene was grown from the cellulose acetate laminate film without explosive gaseous carbon sources usually used in the growth of graphene by CVD methods. A series of processes mentioned above could start and end with the lamination process. In order to control the thickness of the graphene layer, the graphene samples were annealed at various temperatures and durations. The sheet resistance and transmittance of the transferred graphene on a PET substrate were 4240–100 Ω sq.−1 and 85–60%, respectively. To demonstrate the practical use of graphene, a flexible PLED was fabricated on the graphene electrode synthesized through the method mentioned above. The maximum luminance and luminance efficiency were 4040 Cd m−2 at 6.8 V and 8.2 Cd A−1 at 4.0 V. To our knowledge, this is the first report on a typical PLED fabricated on the graphene electrode from a solid carbon source.

This study reports the enhanced electrical properties of InGaZnO 4 thin film transistors (TFTs) with sputter-deposited poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA)/Ba 0.6 Sr 0.4 TiO 3 (BST) stacked gate dielectrics. A noticeable reduction in the leakage current density (∼10 -8 A/cm 2 at 0.3 MV) was achieved by coating a PMMA overlayer. The InGaZnO 4 TFTs utilizing the PMMA (30 nm)/BST (270 nm) stacked gate dielectrics exhibited a high on/off current ratio of 2.6 × 10 6 , a high field effect mobility of 10.2 cm 2 /V · s, and a low threshold voltage of 1.1 V. Using stacked gate dielectric layers, we realized the low voltage operating InGaZnO 4 TFTs on a poly(ethylene terephthalate) substrate.
