Flexible manufacturing has given rise to complex scheduling problems such as the flexible job shop scheduling problem (FJSP). In FJSP, operations can be processed on multiple machines, leading to intricate relationships between operations and machines. Recent works have employed deep reinforcement learning (DRL) to learn priority dispatching rules (PDRs) for solving FJSP. However, the quality of solutions still has room for improvement relative to that by the exact methods such as OR-Tools. To address this issue, this paper presents a novel end-to-end learning framework that weds the merits of self-attention models for deep feature extraction and DRL for scalable decision-making. The complex relationships between operations and machines are represented precisely and concisely, for which a dual-attention network (DAN) comprising several interconnected operation message attention blocks and machine message attention blocks is proposed. The DAN exploits the complicated relationships to construct production-adaptive operation and machine features to support high-quality decisionmaking. Experimental results using synthetic data as well as public benchmarks corroborate that the proposed approach outperforms both traditional PDRs and the state-of-the-art DRL method. Moreover, it achieves results comparable to exact methods in certain cases and demonstrates favorable generalization ability to large-scale and real-world unseen FJSP tasks.

Continuous use of an offloading device significantly prevents recurrence of high-risk diabetic feet, although patient adherence is imperative to ensuring this therapy’s clinical efficacy. In this study, we explored clinical outcomes of patients with a high-risk diabetic foot who had been prescribed with custom-molded offloading footwear under different adherence conditions.Methods: A total of 48 patients (17 females and 31 males) with high-risk diabetic feet, who had been with prescribed offloading footwear in 13 medical centers across 4 cities, were enrolled in the current study. The patients were assigned into either continuous offloading therapy (COT, n = 31) or interrupted offloading therapy (IOT, n = 17) groups, according to their adherence to the therapy. All patients were followed up monthly, and differences in recurrence, amputation, and deaths between the groups were analyzed at 4 months after therapy.Results: Forty-eight patients met our inclusion criteria and were therefore included in the final analysis. Among them, 31 were stratified into the COT group and adhered to offloading therapy throughout the study period, whereas 17 were grouped as IOT and exhibited interrupted adherence to offloading therapy. We found statistically significant differences in recurrence rates (0 vs 38.46%, p < 0.01), amputation (0 vs 11.76%, p < 0.01), and deaths (0% vs 5.88%, p < 0.01) between the groups during follow-up.Conclusion: Patients’ adherence is imperative to efficacy of custom-molded offloading footwear during treatment of high-risk diabetic foot. Further studies are needed to elucidate the role of improved design of the offloading device and the need for enhanced patient education for improved adherence.Keywords: custom-molded offloading footwear, high-risk diabetic foot, patient adherence

Based on FLUENT software, the flow field of cooling oil between a friction pair in an engaged wet dual clutch is simulated and the influence of groove structural parameters on the flow filed characteristics of cooling oil is studied. The results show that the structural parameters of radial groove have a great influence on the cooling oil flow field between a friction pair. When the inclination direction of groove is opposite to the rotation direction of friction pair, the groove inclination angle has a great influence on oil flow field between fiction pair, and the influence is relatively small when the groove inclination angle is consistent with the rotation direction of friction pair. In addition, the velocity distribution trend in the inclined radial groove is the same as that of the inclination angle = 0, but the velocity magnitude is larger and the highest velocity appears near the opposite side of the groove to the inclined direction of the grooves either for clockwise or counter-clockwise rotation of the friction pair. On the other hand, when the cross sectional area of the groove is kept constant, the average velocity in the central circumferential section of the groove is decreased rapidly with the increase of the groove aspect ratio (width to depth ratio) until the aspect ratio is equal to 5, and then slowly.

BackgroundThe long-term clinical outcome of poor prognosis in patients with diabetic hyperglycaemic crisis episodes (HCE) remains unknown, which may be related to acute organ injury (AOI) and its continuous damage after hospital discharge. This study aimed to observe the clinical differences and relevant risk factors in HCE with or without AOI.MethodsA total of 339 inpatients were divided into an AOI group (n=69) and a non-AOI group (n=270), and their differences and risk factors were explored. The differences in clinical outcomes and prediction models for evaluating the long-term adverse events after hospital discharge were established.ResultsThe mortality among cases complicated by AOI was significantly higher than that among patients without AOI [8 (11.59%) vs. 11 (4.07%), Q = 0.034] during hospitalization. After a 2-year follow-up, the mortality was also significantly higher in patients with concomitant AOI than in patients without AOI after hospital discharge during follow-up [13 (21.31%) vs. 15 (5.8%), Q < 0.001]. The long-term adverse events in patients with concomitant AOI were significantly higher than those in patients without AOI during follow-up [15 (24.59%) vs. 31 (11.97%), Q = 0.015]. Furthermore, Blood β-hydroxybutyric acid (P = 0.003), Cystatin C (P P = 0.001) were significantly associated with long-term adverse events after hospital discharge.ConclusionsThe long-term prognosis of HCE patients complicated with AOI was significantly worse than that of HCE patients without AOI. The laboratory indicators were closely correlated with AOI, and future studies should explore the improvement of clinical outcome in response to timely interventions.

Introduction Approximately 80% of children, adolescents and young adults (CAYA) cancer patients are expected to fully recover and survive for five years or more. The reproductive health is a particular area of their concern. Evidence demonstrates that previous therapeutic treatments for cancer and comorbidities may have harmful effects on female fertility and delivery outcomes, which will significantly affect patient quality of life. However, these reports are heterogeneous. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to provide the up-to-date evidence of associations between cancer and obstetric and perinatal outcomes. Methods and analysis This meta-analysis will be carried out and reported with adherence to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines and the Cochrane Handbook. We will search online databases including PubMed, Cochrane Library, and Embase until March, 2022 to identify all relevant cohort studies examining the relationship between cancer and subsequent obstetric and perinatal outcomes. Data extraction from eligible studies will be conducted independently by two unblinded investigators using pre-tested standardized data extraction forms and crosschecked by a senior investigator. Discrepancies will be resolved via discussion until consensus is reached. Methodological quality assessment for each study will be conducted using the Newcastle–Ottawa scale (NOS) tool. We will apply the DerSimonian-Laird random-effects model to calculate the pooled estimates. Further sources of heterogeneity will be explored by performing subgroup analysis based on multiple study characteristics. Potential publication bias will be assessed by inspection of a funnel plot, Begg’s and Egger’s regression tests of funnel plot asymmetry. Ethics and dissemination Ethical approval will not be required as all data used for this pooled analysis will be obtained from published cohort studies. The results of this study will be disseminated in a peer-reviewed journal and conference presentation.

The interaction of reactants with catalysts has always been an important subject for catalytic reactions. As a promising catalyst with versatile applications, titania has been intensively studied for decades. In this work we have investigated the role of bridge bonded oxygen vacancy (Ov) in methyl groups and carbon monoxide (CO) adsorption on rutile TiO2(110) (R-TiO2(110)) with the temperature programmed desorption technique. The results show a clear different tendency of the desorption of methyl groups adsorbed on bridge bonded oxygen (Ob), and CO molecules on the five coordinate Ti4+ sites (Ti5c) as the Ov concentration changes, suggesting that the surface defects may have crucial influence on the absorption of species on different sites of R-TiO2(110).

Purpose This paper aims to present the mixed elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL) model and obtain the leakage characteristics for the skeleton reciprocating oil seal. Design/methodology/approach The model consists of a finite element analysis of the contact pressure, a fluid mechanics analysis of the fluid film, a contact analysis of the asperity contact pressure, a deformation analysis of the seal lip and an iterative numerical simulation process. Findings Simulation results show that the leakage is in direct proportion to the seal roughness and speed, and in inverse proportion to the fluid viscosity. Comparisons with the experimental results verify the validity of the mixed EHL model. Originality/value This study provides a helpful method to calculate the leakage of the skeleton reciprocating oil seal, which shortens its development cycles.

Although festival tourism is an excellent fertile ground for improving individual emotions, few studies have been conducted on the influencing factors and formation mechanisms of festival tourists’ subjective well-being. To address the current research gap, this paper draws on Arnold’ s theory of emotion to examine a comprehensive formation model of tourists’ subjective well-being. The findings from 581 samples indicate that event design innovation, cultural innovation and aesthetic innovation of festival tourism are positive stimulus factors of tourists’ subjective well-being. Both experience quality and perceived festival value mediate the effects of cultural innovation and aesthetic innovation on subjective well-being, yet have no mediating effect on the relationship between event design innovation and well-being. However, it can only be achieved when festival authenticity contributes to a positive moderating effect. This study provides new ideas for the collaborative advancement of innovative development and authentic inheritance in festival tourism destinations.

Pancreatic acinar cells are susceptible to nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB)-mediated inflammation and resulting cell necrosis during early acute pancreatitis. As adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase alpha (Ampkα)/sirtuin 1 (Sirt1) pathway activity attenuates NF-κB activity, we examined whether the Ampkα/Sirt1 axis affects the progression of acute pancreatitis and associated lung injuryPancreatic injury, oxidative stress, acinar cell necrosis and apoptosis, acinar levels of Ampkα/Sirt1/NF-κB signaling activity, NF-kB-mediated inflammatory markers, and markers of associated lung injury were measured in rat models of acute pancreatitis following pharmacological Ampkα activation with A769662 or self-complementary recombinant adeno-associated virus serotype 6 (scAAV6)-mediated Spef2 overexpression. AdditionalPharmacological Ampkα activation or Spef2 overexpression reduced acute pancreatitis severity, oxidative stress, necrosis, apoptosis, NF-kB-mediated inflammatory markers, and the degree of associated lung injury. The objective of this study is to explore the effects of degradation properties of different biodegradable films on water environment and yield formation of cotton(Gossypium hirsutum L.)field under drip irrigation conditions. A single factor field experiment was established, completely randomized block design:Four kinds of biodegradable films Tianzhuang-1(T1), Tianzhuang-2(T2), Jinfa (JF), Basf(BSF), and polyethylene agricultural film(PE, CK)were applied. The experiment was carried out in southern Xinjiang in 2018. During the experiment, the degradation rate of biodegradable films, soil water content, dry matter accumulation and seed yield were measured. Water use efficiency(WUE)was calculated based on the evapotranspiration. The results showed that, the degradation rate of the films decreased, in the order of T2 > T1 > JF > BSF. Only T2 entered into the full degradation phase at the end of the growth period, while the other mulching films were still in the fragmentation stage. Soil moisture content of BSF treatment was 17.9% and 18.5% respectively, higher than that of the polyethylene film in bud stage and flowering stage, and remained relatively stable. For T2 treatment, very early degradation occurred, soil moisture rapidly evaporated, deep water consumption increased, and dry matter accumulation decreased. For JF treatment, it was the last one to enter into the rapid dry matter accumulation(78 d after covering film). The number of bolls per plant was 1.69 less, and single boll weight was 0.14 g lower than that of polyethylene film, resulting in 40.82% reduction in yield. For T1 treatment, there was no significant decrease on soil moisture content, and reproductive organ ratio during boll opening stage, seed cotton yield, and WUE in the cotton field were observed and compared with that of polyethylene film. T1 mulching film could reduce the pollution caused by residual film, while ensuring stable yield under the local environment.

This paper presents a series of numerical simulations on the effect of heat dissipation on the thermocapillary convection of a low Prandtl number (Pr = 0.011) fluid in an annular pool heated from its inner cylinder. The radius ratio and the aspect ratio of the annular pool set as η = 0.5 and e = 0.1, respectively. The results show that with the increase of Biot number, the isotherms of the two-dimensional basic flow are seriously compressed near the hot inner cylinder and the thermocapillary flow pattern will be impaired. With the increase of Marangoni number, the thermocapillary convection first evolves from the basic flow to a three-dimensional stationary flow with longitudinal stationary stripes on the free surface, and then to a three-dimensional oscillatory flow featured with the combination of stationary stripes and azimuthal waves, which is caused by the mutual effect of the radial convection, azimuthal local flow and heat dissipation. After the flow destabilization, the amplitude of temperature fluctuation increases and the wave number decreases with the increase of Marangoni number when the free surface is adiabatic. Furthermore, the temperature fluctuation pattern is changed due to the surface heat dissipation. In addition, with the increase of Biot number, the wave number almost keeps constant when Marangoni number is small, but it increases significantly at a large Marangoni number.

Key Points Question Does COVID-19 convalescent plasma (CCP), compared with placebo, improve the clinical status of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 requiring noninvasive supplemental oxygen? Findings In this randomized clinical trial including 941 patients, based on the World Health Organization 11-point Ordinal Scale for Clinical Improvement, CCP did not benefit 468 participants randomized to CCP compared with 473 randomized to placebo from April 2020 to March 2021. However, in exploratory analyses, CCP appeared to benefit those enrolled from April to June 2020, the period when most participants received high-titer CCP and were not receiving remdesivir and corticosteroids at randomization. Meaning In this trial, CCP did not meet prespecified outcomes for efficacy, but high-titer CCP may have benefited hospitalized patients with COVID-19 early in the pandemic when other treatments were not in use, suggesting a heterogenous treatment effect over time., Importance There is clinical equipoise for COVID-19 convalescent plasma (CCP) use in patients hospitalized with COVID-19. Objective To determine the safety and efficacy of CCP compared with placebo in hospitalized patients with COVID-19 receiving noninvasive supplemental oxygen. Design, Setting, and Participants CONTAIN COVID-19, a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of CCP in hospitalized adults with COVID-19, was conducted at 21 US hospitals from April 17, 2020, to March 15, 2021. The trial enrolled 941 participants who were hospitalized for 3 or less days or presented 7 or less days after symptom onset and required noninvasive oxygen supplementation. Interventions A unit of approximately 250 mL of CCP or equivalent volume of placebo (normal saline). Main Outcomes and Measures The primary outcome was participant scores on the 11-point World Health Organization (WHO) Ordinal Scale for Clinical Improvement on day 14 after randomization; the secondary outcome was WHO scores determined on day 28. Subgroups were analyzed with respect to age, baseline WHO score, concomitant medications, symptom duration, CCP SARS-CoV-2 titer, baseline SARS-CoV-2 serostatus, and enrollment quarter. Outcomes were analyzed using a bayesian proportional cumulative odds model. Efficacy of CCP was defined as a cumulative adjusted odds ratio (cOR) less than 1 and a clinically meaningful effect as cOR less than 0.8. Results Of 941 participants randomized (473 to placebo and 468 to CCP), 556 were men (59.1%); median age was 63 years (IQR, 52-73); 373 (39.6%) were Hispanic and 132 (14.0%) were non-Hispanic Black. The cOR for the primary outcome adjusted for site, baseline risk, WHO score, age, sex, and symptom duration was 0.94 (95% credible interval [CrI], 0.75-1.18) with posterior probability (P[cOR, This randomized clinical trial examines the use of convalescent plasma from patients with COVID-19 in hospitalized patients with COVID-19 who are not receiving invasive oxygenation treatment.

In this paper, a set of direct numerical simulations on the thermocapillary flow of 2cSt silicone oil with Prandtl number of 28.01 in annular pools heated from inner cylinder were carried out. The critical Marangoni number of flow destabilization was determined, and the flow pattern evolution with Marangoni number was revealed when the aspect ratios of the annular pools were 0.375 and 0.75. It was found that the axisymmetric steady flow will transit into different types of oscillatory flows. The critical Marangoni number of flow destabilization depends on types of flow instability. At a small aspect ratio, the flow transits to the oscillatory concentric ring pattern firstly, then into the combination of the oscillatory concentric ring pattern and azimuthal non-uniform temperature fluctuation, and eventually into rotating wave, while it transits directly into the rotating wave at a large aspect ratio. With the increase of Marangoni number, the oscillation frequency of the oscillatory flow increases, and the wave number is almost unchanged. However, when the oscillatory flow pattern transition happens, there is always an abrupt drop of the oscillation frequency.

This paper presented a set of direct numerical simulations on the thermocapillary flow instability of moderate-Prandtl number fluids in annular pools heated from inner cylinder. The emphasis is on the aspect ratio dependence of the critical Marangoni number of flow destabilization and the formation mechanism of the different flow patterns. It was found that the two-dimensional axisymmetric steady flow will bifurcate into three types of oscillatory flows, including the oscillatory concentric rings, the alternating straight spoke and the rotating wave patterns. The bifurcation process depends mainly on the aspect ratio of the annular pool when the radius ratio is fixed. With the increase of the aspect ratio, the first instability flow pattern is oscillatory concentric rings and the corresponding critical Marangoni number and the oscillatory frequency decrease first, and then increase slightly. When the flow pattern transits to the alternating straight spoke pattern at the aspect ratio of 0.415, there are an abrupt increase of the critical Marangoni number and a sudden decrease of the oscillatory frequency. Furthermore, when the rotating wave pattern appears, the critical Marangoni number decreases gradually, but the corresponding oscillatory frequency has only a slight decrease.

In order to reduce the influence of fuel sloshing on the interior noise of a passenger car, the fuel tank sloshing noise was first evaluated with a subjective evaluation method to determine the driving cycle of the car and the fuel filling percentage of the fuel tank in which the fuel tank sloshing noise is serious, and then two anti-wave boards with different structural characteristics were designed to reduce the fuel sloshing. On this basis, fuel sloshing in the fuel tank equipped with the newly designed and original anti-wave boards was simulated numerically; then, the anti-wave board with the best effect of inhibiting fuel from sloshing was selected based on the numerical results; finally, the anti-sloshing effect of the selected board was evaluated through the car road test. The test results show that the vibration acceleration magnitude at each monitoring point of the tank with the selected anti-wave board is significantly reduced compared with the original fuel tank, which indicates that the selected anti-wave board inhibits fuel from sloshing greatly.

This paper presented a linear-stability analysis on thermocapillary-buoyancy convection in radially heated annular pool filled in 5cSt silicone oil / HT-70 two-layer fluids. The influences of the aspect ratio, radius ratio and thickness ratio on the flow stability were discussed. Results indicate that the system is most unstable when the thickness ratio is close to 0.375. Flow bifurcation appears when the thickness ratio varies from 0.625 to 0.875. Three corresponding destabilization mechanisms were revealed. Effect of buoyancy convection and the upper boundary condition on the flow stability were also analyzed. The upper rigid wall can enhance the flow stability in the annular two-layer system, especially when the thickness ratio is near 0.75. Furthermore, the buoyancy can greatly reduce the flow stability comparing with that under the microgravity condition.

In order to understand the aspect ratio and capillary ratio dependence of the coupled thermal-solutal capillary-buoyancy flow in an annular pool subjected to radial temperature and solute concentration gradients, a series of three-dimensional numerical simulations are conducted by applying the finite volume method. The annular pool was filled with the silicon-germanium melt with the silicon mass fraction of 1.99% (Pr = 6.37 × 10−3 and Le = 2197.8). Results show that axisymmetric stable flow always occurs in an annular pool when the thermal capillary Reynolds number is relatively small. The evolution of the flow pattern undergoes two and three stages with the increase of the aspect ratio and the capillary ratio, respectively. Besides the special case of Rσ = −1, the critical thermal Reynolds number at which the flow bifurcates into a three-dimensional flow rises with the increase of the capillary ratio and the decrease of the aspect ratio. Various three-dimensional flow patterns, including the lotus-like pattern, spoke pattern, hydrosolutal waves, ear-like pattern, growth-ring-like pattern and petal-like pattern, appear in the annular pool. The transitions and characteristic parameters of these flow patterns are strongly related to the capillary ratio, aspect ratio and thermal capillary Reynolds number.

To recognize the tender shoots for high-quality tea and to determine the picking points accurately and quickly, this paper proposes a method of recognizing the picking points of the tender tea shoots with the improved YOLO-v3 deep convolutional neural network algorithm. This method realizes the end-to-end target detection and the recognition of different postures of high-quality tea shoots, considering both efficiency and accuracy. At first, in order to predict the category and position of tender tea shoots, an image pyramid structure is used to obtain the characteristic map of tea shoots at different scales. The residual network block structure is added to the downsampling part, and the fully connected part is replaced by a \times 1$ convolution operation at the end, ensuring accurate identification of the result and simplifying the network structure. The K-means method is used to cluster the dimension of the target box. Finally, the image data set of picking points for high-quality tea shoots is built. The accuracy of the trained model under the verification set is over 90%, which is much higher than the detection accuracy of the research methods. Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) is a rare but fatal clinical syndrome frequently complicated by acute kidney injury (AKI) and acute tubular necrosis. Renal thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA) is a specific pathological feature of childhood HLH and few cases have been reported among infants. The present study presents a rare case of HLH with TMA in an infant. A 15-month-old infant with a week-long history of fever was admitted to hospital. The infant presented with AKI and subsequently a reduction in platelet and hemoglobin levels. TMA was diagnosed by kidney biopsy and the clinical, laboratory and bone marrow biopsy findings met the criteria of HLH. Due to a progressive increase in serum creatinine levels, hemodialysis was initiated on the second day following admission. Dexamethasone was administered to treat both the fever and HLH. The patient's body temperature returned to a normal range and platelet and hemoglobin levels were stable after 14 days of admission. Renal function stabilized on day 21. The results of genetic testing did not identify any disease-related variations. Childhood HLH is a severe condition and mortality can be reduced by early diagnosis and correct treatment. For patients with HLH and AKI, the possible role of TMA should be considered. Renal biopsy can help to identify the cause of AKI and can be performed when the patient's condition is stable.

Poor sensitivity to chemotherapy drugs and high recurrence rates are the bottlenecks to successful chondrosarcoma treatment. Notably, niclosamide has been identified as a potential anti-cancer agent. To investigate the effects and mechanisms of niclosamide in the context of human chondrosarcoma treatment, SW1353 and CAL78 human chondrosarcoma cells were treated with various concentrations of niclosamide. The CKK-8 assay was performed to quantify cell viability. Cell proliferation was determined with crystal violet staining and colony forming assays. TUNEL and annexin V-FITC flow cytometry assays were performed to detect cell apoptosis. Wound healing and Transwell assays were conducted to evaluate migratory and invasive cell behaviors. The effect of niclosamide on the mitochondria was evaluated with the JC-1 and Seahorse Cell Mito Stress Assays. The expression of caspase-3, cleaved caspase-3, caspase-9, cleaved caspase-9, and β-tubulin levels were investigated by western blotting. Collectively, the data demonstrated that niclosamide inhibited cell growth and proliferation, attenuated migratory and invasive cell behaviors, and promoted apoptosis. Niclosamide is as a potent chondrosarcoma tumor inhibitor that activates the caspase-dependent mitochondrial apoptotic pathway and could be a novel therapeutic approach to treat chondrosarcoma.

The angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) insertion/deletion (I/D) gene polymorphism has been inconsistently reported to be a risk factor for Childhood immunoglobulin A vasculitis (IgAV) nephritis. We comprehensively searched electronic databases as of Jan 2020. Nineteen studies with 1104 cases and 1589 controls were included. Sensitivity analyses based on different subgroups were performed. Further analyses were conducted for association of ACE polymorphism with disease severity and prognosis. Significant associations were found between ACE I/D polymorphism and childhood IgAV nephritis, with the strongest association in DD vs. II comparison (OR 1.72, 95% CI 1.21–2.46). Subgroup analyses generally showed significant results. Besides, ACE polymorphism was significantly associated with proteinuria (DD + DI vs. II: OR 2.22, 95% CI 1.14–4.33; DI + II vs. DD: OR 0.49, 95% CI 0.30–0.81) and worse prognosis (the strongest effect in DD + DI vs. II: OR 4.43, 95% CI 1.84–10.71) among children with IgAV nephritis. The ACE polymorphism seemed not to be associated with hematuria, hypertension, and renal pathology. This study suggested significant association of ACE gene polymorphism with the risk of IgAV nephritis in children. D allele in the ACE genotype could be a useful genetic marker to predict proteinuria and worse prognosis for childhood IgAV nephritis.

The linear-stability analyses of thermocapillary flow in an annular two-layer system subjected to a radial temperature gradient were conducted. The annular pool with upper free surface and adiabatic bottom is filled with immiscible double layer liquid of 5cSt silicone oil / HT-70. The outer wall of the annular pool is heated and inner wall is cooled. The results indicate that the critical Marangoni number decreases with the increase of aspect ratio and radius ratio. The effect of the ratio of the lower liquid thickness to the total double layer thickness on the convection onset is complicated. The minimum critical Marangoni number is located near the thickness ratio of 0.125. Moreover, there is one Hopf bifurcation from the steady to oscillatory flow when the thickness ratio varies from 0.625 to 0.75. At the same time, two types of flow destabilizing mechanism are identified. Comparing with the results with upper rigid wall, it can be found that the stability of thermocapillary convection in annular two-layer system with the free surface reduces largely.

Harmless treatment of antibiotics, and recovery of precious metals from the spent Li-ion battery are two typical environmental issues with rapid development of the society. Presently, we reclaimed Mn from the spent Li-ion battery cathode materials for hydrothermally synthesizing MnO2/Fe(0) composites, which were used as the efficient heterogeneous photo-Fenton catalyst. The new composite was well characterized by X-ray diffractometer (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), photoluminescence (PL) and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) methods before optimizing their usage for sulfadiazine destruction. The catalytic efficiency of the MnO2 substrate was enhanced by impregnating different proportions of Fe(0) into the substrate. The MnO2: Fe(0) molar ratio at 40:1 (MnO2-40Fe) shows optimal catalytic activity. Sulfadiazine degradation by 0.2 g/L MnO2-40Fe, 6 mM H2O2 in pH 3 is almost 98.6%, and it follows first-order kinetics. The MnO2 and nano zero-valent iron synthesized using spent cathode of Li-ion batteries is equally efficient in sulfadiazine even after five times repeated use. As elucidated by mass spectroscopic data, sulfadiazine degradation by MnO2-40Fe was a multi-faceted photo-Fenton process which results in CO2, H2O, NH4+ and SO42− as final products. The excellent degradation performance of the as-prepared catalyst might be attributed to the introduction of nano zero-valent iron on the nanostructured MnO2, which not only provides more active sites, but also has a synergistic effect with MnO2 and light irradiation, leading to the generation of large amounts of activated radicals for destructing sulfadiazine. This work provides a promising method for reclamation of spent Li-ion battery cathode for environmental applications.

Modified adaptive observer based backstepping control system for dynamic positioning of ship is proposed. As an improvement, the adaptive observer takes the first-order wave frequency model and the bias term which represent the slowly varying environmental disturbances and the unmodeled dynamics. Thus, the wave-frequency motions are filtered out, and only the reconstructed low-frequency motions are sent as inputs of the controller. Furthermore, as the ship dynamics parameters are unknown, the adaptive estimation law is designed for both the unknown ship dynamics and the unmeasured state variables. Based on the estimated states and parameters, backstepping controller considering the integral action is designed. Global exponential stability (GES) for the total system is proved using Lyapunov direct method. Simulation results show a good performance of the observer and control system.

This study aims to explore the relationship between TSH levels and metabolic factors in euthyroid individuals.Methods: A total of 2,663 subjects were enrolled from a nationwide population-based cross-sectional survey of iodine nutrition, thyroid disease and diabetes in China (2014–2017). Euthyroid individuals were divided into four groups according to quartiles of TSH levels: group A (n=305, 0.3–1.3 mIU/L), group B (n=829, 1.3–2.2 mIU/L), group C (n=673, 2.2–3.2 mIU/L) and group D (n=349, 3.2–4.2 mIU/L). Anthropometric parameters, biochemical indicators and TSH levels were determined.Results: A total of 2,156 euthyroid subjects with serum TSH levels within the normal range accounted for 86.8% of the sample. The systolic blood pressure (SBP) in group D was significantly higher than that in the other three groups. Group C displayed significantly lower thyroid peroxidase antibody (TPOAb) levels than the other three groups. Group C also had lower anti-thyroglobulin antibody (TgAb) levels than groups A and D, whereas the TgAb levels in group B were only lower than those in group A. Spearman’s or Pearson’s linear regression analysis showed that SBP (r=0.054; P=0.013) was positively correlated with TSH, but cholesterol (TC) (r=−0.043, P=0.047) was negatively correlated with TSH. Multiple stepwise regression analysis revealed that SBP, the urinary iodine concentration (UIC), waist circumference (WC), body mass index (BMI), TC, triglycerides (TGs) and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) were independent predictors of serum TSH levels.Conclusion: This large population-based study demonstrates a significant interaction between metabolic factors and TSH levels. With the progress of science and technology and the development of the times, people’s living standards are gradually improving, and the use of travel tools is becoming more and more frequent. However, due to the lack of fuel resources in China and the great environmental pollution caused by the use of fuel resources, the country is vigorously promoting the development of new energy to alleviate the domestic oil crisis, among which electric energy is the most widely used energy. Enterprises can use power resources to realize wireless charging technology of electric vehicles. As far as the wireless charging technology currently studied in China is concerned, many technologies are not perfect, which can not meet the needs of people and enterprises for the performance of the wireless charging automobile industry. Therefore, according to the problems existing in the development of the current wireless charging technology, this paper makes relevant analysis.

Aiming to reduce the labour cost and improve the competitiveness of the tea production, this paper presents a complete solution, including the mechanical structure, the visual recognition system (VRS) and the motion control system of the high-quality tea automatic plucking robot. The design objectives involve high reliability and stability, ease of maintenance, cost-effectiveness, accurate recognition and localization of tea shoots, and high-efficient plucking manipulation. The VRS is established using the computer vision together with corresponding machine learning algorithms, where the Particle swarm optimization-Support vector machine algorithm and the deep convolutional neural YOLOv3 model are developed to recognize the tender tea shoots and localize the plucking point, according to the images captured by the global and local cameras, respectively. The Delta parallel manipulator equipped with a shear cutter is adopted to execute the trajectory tracking and tea plucking operations. The improved ant colony algorithm is utilized for path planning and trajectory smoothing of the manipulator. Simulation and laboratory platform experiment results verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the presented solution.

This paper presents a robust nonlinear model predictive control (NMPC) scheme for the dynamic positioning (DP) ship subject to time-varying environmental disturbances and input saturation. The control objective is to steer the perturbed DP ship to track prespecified reference trajectories. A nonlinear disturbance observer (NDO) is designed to estimate the unknown disturbances and uncertainties. The NMPC optimization problem is formulated to reject the disturbances by combining the disturbance estimates into the prediction model. The partial asymptotical stability of NMPC is guaranteed without considering any terminal costs and terminal constraints. Furthermore, detail time-iteration NMPC algorithm for DP ships is presented. Simulations of the proposed NDO-based NMPC scheme are implemented for the modes of setpoint regulation and trajectory tracking, respectively. Simulation results well demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed control law.

Automatic expression recognition of human faces has been an active research area for decades. In this work, to improve the facial expression recognition effect, a new method based on SSVM algorithm and multi-source texture feature fusion using KECA is proposed. Multi-source texture features are introduced to describe the facial expression, containing GMCL, Gabor feature, and HOG feature. The results indicate that multi-source texture features are conducive to improve the recognition effect and make up for the deficiency of single texture feature in facial expression description. In addition, KECA and SSVM algorithms show better performance than traditional methods in feature extraction and classification. To further verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, three sets of comparative experiments are carried out: PCA+SVM (based on Gabor feature), PCA+SVM (based on GMCL+Gabor+HOG feature), KECA+SVM (based on GMCL+Gabor+HOG feature). The results of JAFFE database indicate that the accuracy of proposed method, equal to 93.04%, is at least 2.61% higher than conventional method. The results of JAFFE database demonstrate the validity of proposed method.

Sulfated polysaccharide (SP) extracted from sea algae has been used to chelate with ferric to yield polysaccharide iron complex (SPIC). The main active components and groups, monosaccharide composition, molecular weight and anti-oxidative capability were studied comparatively. Results showed that both have good stability and no free ferric ions in SPIC, and no significant difference in total polysaccharide content while sulfate and protein contents lowering and iron content increasing. Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectra indicated further that iron was chelated in polysaccharide chain. Gas chromatograph (GC) showed that the major monosaccharides were fucose, mucose and glucose with molecular ratio of 10:3.8:3.5 in SPIC and 10:8.4:7.5 in SP. MW of SP and SPIC varied no more at 231,3 kD and 237.2 kD respectively using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Both had hydroxyl radicals scavenging effects in vitro while SPIC showed stronger effects. Comparing oxygen consumption with control PMA-differentiated cells, both took longer time to achieve higher platform and SPIC showed stronger effects than SP. Fluorescence extensity of intracellular ROS showed that SP could reduce the ROS generation while SPIC enhances the effect. The results revealed that the main active components and antioxidant activity exhibit differentiation after SP chelating with ferric.

In this paper, we carried out a series of experiments on the basic characteristics of the thermocapillary convection of binary mixture with moderate Prandtl number in a shallow annular pool which was heated at the outer cylinder and cooled at the inner cylinder at different aspect ratio. Results showed that two-dimensional steady flow, the hydrothermal waves and chaos phenomena will orderly appear with the increase of the thermocapillary Reynolds number. The critical thermocapillary Reynolds number for the onset of the hydrothermal waves decreases with the increase of the aspect ratio and the solute concentration in the range of experiment. The wave number, the propagation angle and the fundamental frequency of the hydrothermal waves decrease monotonically with the increase of the aspect ratio. However, the solute concentration has slightly effect on these characteristic parameters of the hydrothermal waves.

A classical Helmholtz resonator is commonly used to passively attenuate the tonal noise in ducts. Its drawback is that the attenuation is limited to a single, narrow frequency bandwidth. This work demonstrates that a classical Helmholtz resonator with its one wall replaced by a compliant diaphragm can be used to design a particular transmission loss response and provide a wider bandwidth of attenuation by adjusting the diaphragm dimension. An analytical model is developed for the compliant-wall Helmholtz resonator mounted on a one-dimensional duct and the effect of the diaphragm geometry on the transmission characteristics of the resonator is investigated. The results show that the resonator produces two transmission loss peaks as the diaphragm dimensions meet a certain criteria, beyond which the resonator behaves a similar transmission loss characteristic to that of a classical Helmholtz resonator. Therefore, the wall compliance of the resonator can be neglected so that the wall is taken to be rigid. In addition, the variation tendencies of the transmission loss of the resonator with respect to the diaphragm dimension are discussed. The specific relation between the diaphragm diameter and thickness is given for obtaining a wider attenuation bandwidth.
